I was recommended this place to get my nails done and went for tips and acrylic. They only have one person that does them first of all. This was probably the worst nail service I’ve ever had done. I told her not to make them chunky and she still did and she did not even file them evenly. Literally embarrassed walking with them. Don’t go here for this service.
This place is incredible if I could give it more stars I would. She (the owner) took care of every detail and made sure that my hair was a show stopper for sure at my wedding. I will be coming back for sure it worth every dollar.
Where do I begin !!!! I been going here for about a year Im a seasonal customer with my daughter only because my commute but trust me had I lived closer Id go every 2 weeks, I started with Katherine who is no longer there but each and everyone of the women make you feel beautiful and like family !! Even Marisol who does my eye bros I love all of them ! My daughter is 4 and they definitely make my baby girl feel comfortable! They are definitely children friendly... I wouldnt change salons at all.. not to mention I barely speak Spanish and they always find a way to accommodate me and go above and beyond !-Darnicia
This hair salon is THE WORST!!! The owner is in the wrong line of business with the nasty attitude she has. She was rushing the employee doing my hair hair, just because closing hours were approaching. I was certainly taken aback by this, I was PAYING, it was not a free service. She also doesn’t allow for anyone to charge their cellphones in her salon.
Was I the Nail Salon on Columbus day and waited a hour and a half for service. One of the ladies said she Only does tips and fill ins and she didnt want to do my nails. The ladies spoke in Spanish when I complained that I was next and just because the women who came in after me was getting fill ins should not go before me... Was treated unfairly...
The hair stylist who did my hair was very nice. But at the end I realized that she didnt cut my hair right, one side was shorter. She blew dry my hair and left my hair with alot of statics. I was not satisfied.
I love them Paula & Nana are my favorites. I have been going here for about 6 years. Clean, friendly and make you feel like your family. I have nothing but good words for Amiris.

The staff is friendly,the place is clean and the service is great. The only problem is the language barrier they dont understand you clearly because most of the staff is Hispanic and I dont know Spanish but other than that you must come here.

I decided to go to this place to get Gel Manicure. I found it by chance. Unfortunately my experience was not what I wanted. I waited approximately 40 minutes for them to attend to me. The girl who fixes my nails is too rough, she hurt me to the point of drawing blood and she uses the file extremely hard. The color was not uniform and I left polish residue on my fingers. And my biggest surprise was when I paid $ 40, which I think is exorbitantly expensive. Honestly neither the place nor the service is worth it. It seems ridiculous to me that they charged me $ 5 to remove the previous gel when it was supposed to be included, $ 5 dollars for a line, well thats understandable I asked for it at the last minute. $ 30 gel manicure. Attached photo of my broken nails when I went just two days ago.Too bad with the girl because she was very nice. I will definitely never go back!
I live in Portland Oregon every time I come to New York I always go to this salon to have my hair done. Julie Claribel is very professional. I love how they handle hair and comb it divinely many. They dont wax you after 6 in the afternoon, the place is still open until 8 at night, I dont know why, I really didnt like that

2020-08-15I went to get my hair colored after another salon ruined it, and this salon was amazing!!! My natural hair is black and the hair stylist didn’t even use bleach to lighten my hair she used an amazing hair dye. I’m so pleased with my hair will be coming here often!! Very happy with results ❤️❤️❤️

2019-12-16Recently moved to Jackson Heights and needed a great Dominican hair salon for the long-term.Came across Amiris hair salon through a Google search as the Top 10 best hair salons in the area. I must say Google was not wrong for mentioning Amiris as the top 10 best hair salons in Jackson Heights.My hairdresser was Paula (Loved her). She was very nice, attentive, and a true hair dresser that cares about your hair and makes you feel welcome.The staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and professional.The salon is immaculate and clean. I never been to a hair salon so clean and well organized as Amiris hair salon.Finally, I found a hair salon that is honest, customer service oriented, welcoming, friendly, quality over quantity when it comes to your hair. 2018-08-13This is the BEST salon I have ever been too in my life! The stylists are so very good at what they do, not to mention that they go out of their way to make sure that you are comfortable (took great care of my bright red hair even though I was worried about it fading) and happy with your hair. The wash was straight out of heaven (best wash Ive ever had, seriously) and they even offered fresh coffee. I wish I lived in town, because Id be here all the time. Even with a small language barrier, other stylists there jumped in to help make sure I was happy. Thanks so much ladies!

2017-06-12I have been to numerous nail salon but this was best the one, by far. The young lady took her time. I received the best pedicure, ever. The salon was clean and enjoyable. No attitude, what so ever, and this was my first visit. I hope I will get the same treatment on my next. However, I wasnt too happy with my eyebrow waxing...but you cant win them all. I love my pedicure though!!!

2019-07-10On a business trip in need of a wash/blow and flat iron. I was out within one hour or less. Both the owner and stylist were kind, friendly and cared about my hair. I also wear tape in extensions and the stylist was gentle and did a great job with my hair. Thanks from NC girl!!

The ladies are nice, but a lot of times they are short staffed so going to get a little thing like eyebrows done will have you waiting for about an hour.I waited because I usually have a very nice experience and results with them doing my eyebrows but I gave a 4 for the quality but unless the shop is empty you might have a long wait on your hands

2018-05-23This review should have been done years ago. This Salon is not your typical hair salon. Each and every stylist here does the common things hair dressers do... wash, dry, style, cut, blow dry, relaxer , flat iron etc. They do all types of hair Hispanics, African American, Caucasian, Asian, Russian etc. . They all have an art or gift. I go there because I’ve maintained my hair short, very short for years. After searching for the perfect person and traveling near and far, I found Aramelis (Paola)two blocks from my house, that does short hair. I’ve been there almost 6 years now.And the icing on the cake is not only their reasonable prices .. but.. right next door attached to Salon is the best Nail Place this side of Northern Blvd on Astoria Blvd. My ingrown haven’t been better 😆 There’s no traveling to 2 places.... just 1 to get all your pampering needs.So please take my word for it.... You won’t break the bank, you’ll be treated kindly and with respect. They have great hours too. Only close Sundays.

2019-02-27Following up visit: I visited this salon a day ago and worst experience ever I usually go to one specific hairdresser there and the day I went she wasn’t there but since it’s a salon and everyone should be good I figured anyone could cut my hair, so I went to a hair dresser she didn’t even have a consultation with me she just washed my hair and once we were in the seat asked how much I wanted to cut off I told her how much to cut off and everything was fine until I told her I wanted layers, she started cutting my hair like crazy she looked like Edward scissor hands she chopped off all my hair off and I honestly have to say for the first time ever I cried over a horrible haircut experience I was shocked and honestly felt like the woman cutting my hair did it out of spite maybe she didn’t like me even though I was just a client trying to get a hair cut I honestly don’t feel like coming back I don’t even want nobody cutting my hair at this point. The owner gave me a certificate to get treatment but at this point I don’t think I’ll be going back. What I recommend for anyone coming here to do is please go to an experienced hair dresser there don’t just go to anyone because not everyone who says there a hairdresser really knows how to cut hair. Now I have to figure out what I’m gonna do with my hair whether it be extensions or wearing a wig until my hair grows back unnecessary expenses I have to make now because this hairdresser didn’t listen to what I wanted.Past review:attentive environment, and most of all the hairdresser listens to what you want in regards to a haircut. The prices are fair and the salon is very clean and spacious and there are restaurants around in case you have a long wait. Overall my experience in this hair salon was great and my haircut came out beautiful just the way I wanted it. I highly recommend.
