I’ve been a customer of amorino for years (since I lived in London) so I know the brand and it’s standards and the experience I’ve had in this branch was not the best. To start with the only had two flavors of ice cream macaroons (pistachio and mango) and they also ran out of some of the ice cream flavors (like vegan chocolate). The flavors I took - coconut and pistachio ice creams were good. The left over chocolate was not fresh. Just like the macaroon.
I got pistachio gelato and the texture wasn’t what I was expecting. Usually gelatos are soft and smooth, but this one had the same consistency as an ice cream. It was hard and I think it was purposely made that way so they can make the instagramable rose gelato.. it’s all looks, but low quality.. I had better pistachio ice cream at Van Leeuwen.
Its a nice chain available in US and Europe. Reliable, tasty ice cream. Careful when ordering cones: yours will be filled to the bream with one flavour and the others will be just a touch applied like rose petals. If you ask to have a balanced ratio, youll get told by off by the stuff and will be advised not to tell them how to select the flavours. So, while I like their ice cream, I cannot recommend the service in this particular location.
While this place absolutely amazing gelato and macaroons, it’s completely unorganized and the definition of slow inefficient service. This is NYC, no one is waiting for 45 min to move through a gelato line. Seriously in need of a revamp and far better customer service experience to match the quality of their product.
Great selection of flavors, I had the classic in a cup (lime basil, mango and pineapple yuzu), it was refreshing with the first couple bites but it became extremely sweet, It was so sweet that I couldn’t finish it. The store was a bit of a mess and no air conditioning, they propped the door open on a 86° night, everyone in line, including the staff behind the counter were dripping in sweat. Very disappointed, will not be coming back.
One of the best ice cream shops in New York which we came across. It is a little ice cream shop and it offers different flavors of ice cream. For us we decided to have mango flavor and mango as well as chocolate in a cone. Amazing flavors. Do try the mango flavor at Amorino Gelato as it is one of their best flavors.
We stopped at a closer gelati place and they had very little to offer so we opted to walk the extra distance to Amorino and it was worth it. Some of the best Ive had. The Amarena was fantastic, I got it with half blueberry cheesecake which was also really good, with a vanilla macaron. It was perfect. My boyfriend got the Stracciatella was had a really in depth yet subtle flavor, plus the rose design is a really nice touch.
The Gelato is pretty good, but the service (namely the guy behind the register) left much to be desired. He was a bit snappy, when I asked for a small, he suggested the wrong size to me, and I felt pressured to just say yes, pay, and move on. He didnt even tell me my total... kinda odd. I would love to come back when they are less busy, maybe!
If gelato could have a perfect 10/10 standard, this is it. Being dairy-free, gelato steals my heart because of the dairy-free options Amorino makes possible. Well, Amorino has not one dairy-free option, it has MANY! Basically all the fruit flavors plus more! THANK YOU for all the options that you supply and serve! And then not only do they scoop and build your cone to look like these gorgeous beautiful gelato roses, but you can add multiple flavors, which all taste phenomenal! I got lemon basil, raspberry, and strawberry!! I couldn’t even decide which flavor I liked the best because they were all so perfect and good! This place is absolutely delicious! You MUST try it!For more NYC and tri-state area reviews, visit our travel account on Instagram @andiamoadventure
Quaint little ice cream shop. It has authentic Italian icecream, with a varied selection of ice cream flavors. Plus, the flower cone looks very cute. I ordered dulce the leche and cheesecake. I only wish they would fill more of the cone with icecream, so I dont end up eating air at the end.
Delicious gelato and of course the flowers they make with it are beautiful, my friends and I loved this place. The only issue is in the making of the flower you get a whole lot more of one flavor than the others and they don’t mention this/ask which which one you would prefer. Know this going in and request your favorite be in the center so it’s used to fill your cone!
One of our favorite Gelato. Location near Times Sq gets super busy so plan your time. But the Gelato is worth the line. They take the time to make sure your Gelato looks picture perfect, with a final look that is worth of all your pictures. My fav is Chocolate (dark) with Strawberry. Mango and Melon are also delicious. This is an original from Europe (Paris, Barcelona, London) so if you are into Gelato, pls do yourself a favor and stop by!
I would say monkeys run this place, but that would be an insult to monkeys. When you get in line, you go way past the sign that says line starts here. Next, you must purchase the size and or cone prior to testing or choosing whatever flavor you want and pay for it there. Wait some more. Finally, you get to choose a flavor and taste what you want... Oh, but sorry the line is now too long and they no longer offer taste tests, even though every customer before you got to. None of which is posted anywhere.Dont recommend.
Delicious! The ice cream is creamy. I had a gourmet cup with vanilla ice cream, yummy chocolate balls and caramel in it. They present the desserts in an aesthetically pleasing manner. There are so many flavors to choose from I wish I had more room in my belly for some sorbet. I will return!
Overall icecream/gelato was good….however there was a long line but we did not mind waiting after reading reviews. However, keep in mind you are forced to pay before you order your flavor. After 20-30 minute wait we went to pick flavors but they were out of the first three flavors we would choose. By this time you have spent $30 on icecream you do not want. The poor workers feel badly and take the brunt of it while the boss takes the money at the register on the other side of the store. He doesn’t bother updating his sign or putting out a sign with the things they are out of. We would have never waited or ordered what we did had he updated his posted menu or online menu. The workers were very nice and felt badly but there was no way we were cutting back in line to get refund and leave. Seems like bad business and a bit sneaky and from what we could tell is a frequent problem.
I have gone to this place a few times, but the service seems to become increasingly worse. Our friend group went to the store and waited in line for 20 minutes. No one took our order since the group in front of us was big. Once we came to the front they sent us to the back of the line saying we didn’t order. They set up another cash register all the way in the back that they did not inform us about. We tried to tell the employees but they refused to listen and we left, with no ice cream in hand :(
Have been to 5+ different amorino locations across the world and never had issues until this one. It is super rich gelato so people usually get a lot of flavors in one cup. I have always gotten 5 in a Classico with no issues. There has never been any flavor limit until at this location the blonde lady at the counter said I could only get 3. I told her this is not a policy and that Amorino doesn’t have a limit on flavors. She snickered at me and was complaining as she was scooping my gelato. Very rude and condescending serviceOnly have 3 flavors in a cup.
Disappointed with the service here. We were here the day before for crepes and they had run out of crepes. So we asked them if we could come the next day and what time do they open. They said they will be open at 11 AM and crepes would be available. We walked there in the morning and reached there around 11:55 AM and they are not open yet. Apparently they will not be open till late afternoon because they are being audited. Wish they had mentioned that the day before, then we wouldnt have walked a mile in the morning to get there.
The gelato here is really good. Usually places where they do cool things with food like make them look like different things have bad food, making it a win lose situation, but this place has good looking and good tasting food! The staff here are really friendly and accommodating as well!
Just as delicious as youd hoped. Amorino has a great selection of gelatos to suit most every taste. Staff were generally welcoming, and service was pretty quick. I appreciated that nearby most seats (at least those along the wall) had power outlets, including USB charging plugs. Very convenient. I particularly liked the chocolate hazelnut and also the basil lime!
I frequently pass by this place I am a fan of expresso and gelato it has a name I always forget the name of it so I walked in it was kind of late but they clearly had people inside and they were still open i ordered a double shot expresso with a scoop of gelato girl turns to me and says oh we cleaned the machine sorry no more espresso and thats how you lose a customer and get a bad rating although I will say the gelato look delicious and the coffee did smell good I cant say it wasnt good because honestly I didnt try it but its getting a one star for lack of service!
Friday night, 8pm, a friend and I both got large cups of gelato. I got blueberry cheesecake, stracciatella, and fig, he got chocolate and banana. The large is probably too much for one person, would probably get a medium next time. The girls at the counter were helpful, offered us free tastings before we decided. Gelatos were very good, would definitely recommend!!
This place is a perfect brake to long walk in NY. Well positioned and easily accessible to walkers. The staff are very helpful and many choices of flavors. Just dare yourself to try new flavors and trust me you’ll enjoy it.My friend ordered the Affogato and he liked it as well.
While waking down the Manhattan streets with friends , saw this shop in side and the way it was looking and people waiting in line felt like give a try. And I must say it’s good I stop by. It’s one of the best gelato I had. It’s good , different and natural ingredients . I must say you should give a try. Lot of flavors and choices to make. All clean and colorful and nice. Customer service was good.
Outstanding gelato. I didn’t realize until we were eating, I’d been at their Nice location a couple years before. Same great gelato here.Grab a cone with their signature flower designed scoops. Or take a cup, jammed with gelato. And dress it up with some fresh, thick whipped cream. Yum.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 🌟
Delicious Gelato! Tried their rose shaped Gelato in Paris for the first time - great concept and delightful flavors. We tried their hot chocolate this time and it was decent - not as rich as expected. The chocolate hazelnut had too many bits of hazelnut so it was hard to drink the beverage. Will probably try the plain dark/milk chocolate next time!
Popular gelato place on Times Square. They have a varied selection of gelatos and macarons. We had a mix of pistachio, chocolate hazelnut and mango sorbet. The pistachio was really good with a roasted flavor of the pistachios coming through. The ice cream itself was good, but the attitude of the servers was not the best. While we personally did not have a bad experience, I could see the server looking impatient and annoyed while the person in front of me was struggling to decide which flavors he wanted. Didnt make it any easier for him I guess. A smile while serving and maybe even some suggestions would be nice.
Classic gelato shop in the heart of Chelsea. Service can be rushed, but the quality and presentation of the gelato, scooped and shaped like a rose, still draws plenty of crowds, especially on hot days. Prices are on the high side, but then again, you dont come here for $1 ice cream cones.
Gelato is awesome!!! Great great flavor!!! Customer service was the worse! We were there 2 nights before Xmass and no one was in the holiday spirit. There were 4 of us and we were all super rushed into picking a flavor not even given the option to try it out, and on top of that the girl that served us was rolling her eyes the entire time. Her face and especially her horrible attitude showed us that she was bothered by us, impatient and hated either her job or us. It was the worse customer service ever. Gelato was super flavorful and highly recommended, but service was totally the opposite. I hope their customer service improves cuz theres nothing worse than eating gelato with a sour face.
I was craving a late-night vegan treat and Amorino as able to provide! It is great that they are open late; I was able to stop by around 10:30pm and get some gelato. They have both vegan and non-vegan options. When I was there, they had 6-7 vegan flavors - chocolate and a variety of fruits. I appreciate that they have vegan options and that those flavors are clearly labeled.I ordered the vegan chocolate with some vegan strawberry. It was delicious! Some negatives:Definitely pricey as others have mentioned...I got the Regular/Classic size and it was $8. Its something I would get as a treat, not on a regular basis. The person at the register - who I think is the owner based on a conversation I overheard - seemed a bit annoyed by me when I asked him for the wifi password. In his defense, he was busy doing something so I tried to wait until he was done and said excuse me. I didnt get a response so I said excuse me slightly louder and he turned around looking annoyed. Maybe they could just display the wifi password on a sign somewhere if its an inconvenience for them to provide it. I didnt know how else to get it except to ask for it.Overall, I think this is a good place to go if you are looking for a vegan dessert in the area and dont mind the cost.
The positive: their gelatos are delicious. I decided to get the vanilla and dolce de leche mix in a cup instead of the cone. The flavors were amazing, especially the dolce de leche. Negative: the price. I know its the city, but their classic cup is small and you pay $8 for it. Would still recommend the place because of the flavors.
We arrived at 11:50am because the shop was supposed to open at 12pm.The girl saw me standing there for 20 min. And at 12:10pm she said they will open at 12:30pmI don’t live here and i had to go back to the airport. I could have gone somewhere else instead.Such a waste of time and the WORST customer service.
Great selection of flavors and no matter what size cup you get they pack it full. I made the mistake of getting their biggest cup and I didnt even come close to finishing it all. I recommend getting the lemon... its soooo good. They have some cozy places to sit and talk.
Nowadays, there are many restaurant and shops that focuses on making “photogenic” food or desserts. I wonder sometimes if the flavor suffers, by putting too much focus on how they look… Anyways, I saw this dessert place that had very pretty dessert, and I finally made it.So, the process of getting your gelato (or other desserts and drinks) are pretty simple. You go to the register and order what you want, and then follow the line and choose your flavor(s). We wanted their signature gelato macaron, so that is what we asked. After that, move along the line, where you get to see other sweets they have first, then macarons. One of the staffs working behind the showcase windows will ask for your receipt, and then ask you what flavor you want at this point. The awesome thing about Amorino is that you can choose as many or as little flavors as you want, no matter the size! For me, I got a strawberry and mango sorbet with raspberry macaron. They shaped the sorbets into flower pedals, so cute!!! It was pretty looking and pretty good size. My hubby chose based on flavors he wanted instead of how it will look. He went with pistachio gelato and their signature flavor, hazelnut gelato, topped off with pistachio macaron. The mango was the best, it tasted like a REAL mango, almost like a mango puree. It was pretty delicious, creamy, velvety, and heavenly. Read my full review of the shop and gelato on my food blog, foodlovergirl.
Charming hidden gem in the midst of bustling Times Square. The interior feels very cozy due to the fireplace and elegant atmosphere. The gelato is very tasty and flavorful, I especially like how you can choose however many flavors you want in their flower cone. It is on the pricier side, but it is well worth it!
Pretty ok. Something different wasnt thrilled by the service. I asked for the cone with the macaroon on top I was told that was the signature cone. I ordered two signatures cones and then Im told no macaroon goes on top. I go back to the cashier and shes like she must have charged you the cone without the macaroon, do you have the receipt?!. Ummm do the person making the ice cream took the receipt. I am grateful for great customer service. I was not happy with the service here at all!
Gotta love you some gelato! Especially from a company with great presence in Italy. I was taken back to my time in Italy with their classic flavors and beautiful presentation. I only take one star off because it wasnt as smooth as true gelato should be. Nevertheless, quite the experience. I would come back!
The taste of Italy on the streets of the New York. I ordered a crepe with Nutella and two flavors of gelato. The gelato was delicious and seemed very freshly made. The cappuccino was nice and hot and had the strength of real Italian coffee!!! The ambiance was cool. Very warm and home-y despite being in a tourist PACKED area. When I first arrived I was almost put off by the seemingly HUGE line but the fast employees got our order pushed through very quickly. If you see a line, that doesn’t mean it’s going to take a long time—it only shows how delicious it is.
Friday night just before they are closing the door. My first time in this shop, 3 young ladies working . I have no idea how this works. I am standing looking at the ice creams one young ladies tells me to come to the register. Tell me what I want, I tell her I need to see the ice creams its my first time. She tell me what I want again , I ask how it works she says pick a cup. I could tell she was not having it that day. I ask another young lady to help me. Becouse the one girl was just not being helpful what so ever.. if you paying 20 dollars for 3 shopping of ice scream your customers service needs to be on point. I told her like why is does she have this attitude. She says thats how she talk to all the customers that go to that shop. Ice cream is delicious. But I would never spend my money again in this place.. to try and support your local business, and this is how you get treated , in times like this. I did apologize for coming in the last minute. But regardless.

2022-06-05Excellent ice cream place with a decent amount of choices. We tried the chocolate/coffee cone and a mango cup and both of them tasted great. The macarons were really really good. It was quite crowded so there was quite a rush to get the orders fulfill asap which is why our ice cream did not look as good as ones shown in the photos.

2021-10-23Good ice-cream shop in NYC. They have their signature ice-creams with 3 flavors and maroon on top. Some flavors are really good while some are OK. I took pistachios, Blueberry cheesecake and chocolate. All 3 were better than average. Lemon and Mango are super sour. All in all worth a try.

2022-06-15MUST GO! Delicious, light, fresh, gelato. Quick service in a sanitary environment. Flavorful and smooth gelato that was formed into a beautiful rose when ordered in a cone! We ordered the Dulce de Leche, Hazelnut, Coconut, and Amarino. We also got a raspberry macaron atop one of our gelatos which was tasty and perfect baked.

2022-05-14Best ice cream, I mean gelato weve ever had. Back after a few years due to the pandemic but its the same and its great.
