I go to Riverfront Center in Amsterdam to visit with my doctor on a regular basis and throughout the five or six years perhaps that I have been going there I have noticed slight changes in the properties it is a lot of medical offices in a couple of politicians I think of radio station there is a sword or fencing School MRI imaging type places a pediatric dentist I think local assemblyman has his office there there are several people walking around doing my walking its measured out theres music theres a vending area but no restaurants no food court there is only vending machines and its two levels the escalators dont work but the elevators do and theres parking above and below behind the building
Riverfront center in 2018 has become an important office building in Amsterdam NY. It cant really be described as any one type of place because there are so many different types of offices/businesses inside the one building. Ill go through some of offices that I can name off the top of my head to give an idea of some of the things offered at Riverfront center. It has everything from important government offices such as DSS, Community action agencies, WIC, etc.... It also has doctors/dentist offices, oncology and Dialasys centers and other medical offices. Theres a Satellite College ( offered through FMCC) on the lower level. The 5 hour course (for the NYS Learners permit/point reduction) is also available in the building. There are a couple of restaurant/fast food places also. Theres Jewlery stores, mini marts, a Radio station studio (Amsterdam Radio) and OTB gambling and many other types of businesses as well.On the outside of Riverfront center, on the top level of the parking Garage connected to the building there is a walk way Bridge that goes over the train tracks (that are located behind the building) which takes you to the beautiful Riverfront park. The park has a mini restaurant which is directly facing the river. Theres a mini outdoor amphitheater where concerts and events can and do take place throughout the year. Theres docking for boats for people who come to the park on the river with theyre boat. Theres a play ground for the kids and a beautiful path/trail that follows to the picturesque Amsterdam Pedestrian Bridge which will lead you to the Southside of Amsterdam. The path has monumental pieces from the 911 attacks and other statues with descriptions of what they are. The whole bridge has statues/pictures and the cement of the bridge itself is actually etched with pictures/descriptions of what Amsterdam was/is and what it has to offer. The Riverfront center and the park is located on the Mohawk River and you get a beautiful view of the river when your at the park and on the bridge. When I think about it, Riverfront center has really come a long way in the last few decades. It use to be a busy mini mall when it first opened, it had everything you would find at any other mall across the country (food court, movie theater, retail stores, etc...), but over the years business have come and gone and until now I didnt realize that it may be for the better. There are some really important offices/businesses in the building now and with the addition of the parks and bridges I really dont think Amsterdam could do without Riverfront center /park being there.

2022-06-24I love walking in river link park. Such great views, but people keep breaking up the walk. People stink. But this park is breathtaking

2022-03-27We went to Quest Diagnostics to have a blood test. We had a difficult time finding the exact location. Finally someone suggested that it might be inside the mall. Sadly, the mall is like a ghost town. The only businesses were a pharmacy and the Quest lab.

2021-05-01The building is actually very nice. Nice to see rehab of an old building. Unfortunately the place is some what dark and what offices that are there arent always clearly marked so u have to do a bit of hunting around. The lack of activity may be due to covid.

2018-07-10An incredibly rare mall-seum! Arrived here on a weekend afternoon, with the ambiance of local radio station WCSS, headquartered here on the lowel level, playing on autopilot over the malls speakers, past the Centers normal Monday thru Friday operating hours.Amsterdam is a rough looking city whose fallen on hard times for several decades now but this former relic 1970s mall still acts as a business epicenter, albeit less shopping centered. May seem unsettling to outsiders and many would observe its darkened atmosphere and outdatedness. Very clean and well-kept inside, but uninviting outside and crumbling parking garage.

2018-11-17Old mall turned into offices and public services. Quiet and ghost town like but my son loves the 25¢ rides near the food court.

2022-05-03Still a dead mall but Kennedys Fried Chicken makes it worth the trip! They do a lot more than just chicken - still that chicken is GOOD! The hardware store also sells ice 🍨 🍦 cream!
