I visited on January 15th 2021 to purchase fish and vegetables. As I was waiting for the food to be cooked I saw a huge rat run across the hood of the stove in the front where the food is being prepared. The staff was oblivious as to what was going on. This makes me believe that rats are freely running around in the evening when the store is closed. This is a health hazard to the customers. Also, there is no grade on the front door. I believe that they know that they have a rodent problem and are still preparing food for the public.
This has always been a great fish market for years. Love the fried whiting sandwiches and crab legs . The fresh fish is good also but the cooked food is my thing. Fried just right and not alot of seasoning so anyone can eat it. Prices are reasonable. Clean store and friendly staff.
Very rude service..so here is the scenario, I ordered steam fish and it was undercooked..and told the cashier which was an Asian man, that my fish was undercooked, so he proceeded to steam the exact same fish again with the vegetables! So he just wanted to cook the fish more with 2 different temperatures to serve to me. I proceeded to ask him for a refund because I wasn’t satisfied on the treatment...he said no refunds..with a major attitude !!! I vowed not to give them my service or my money again!!
This place is a filthy dump. The fresh fish side may have good quality seafood, but fried side is deplorable. Floors & counter dirty, flies buzzing around. Quality has greatly dissipated since last visit several years ago. Ordered fried whiting sandwich & tilapia w/fries. Whiting sandwich tasted terrible...like they used sweet shrimp batter to coat it. Was inedible. Had to discard. No fork in the bag.
Ive been coming here for years. It getting pretty crowded in here especially in the summer time. In the front of the store they fry and steam food and in the back is the fish market. U can buy fresh fish and seafood to take home to cook or they will steam it for free. All the seasoning is on the front counter you have to season the food yourself before they steam it.
Theyre cooked seafood was not fresh. My friend chose to have her food fried instead of steamed and it looked nasty & had a bad taste to it. It seems as though they dont change their oil often and Im sure they refry alot of their food....Bottom line order your seafood steamed... Ps. Their crabcakes looks like an elementary school fish patty, seriously!
A decent fish market. No notable fishy odor, though theres a chance the deep fryer masks something. The selection is focused on the needs of a Caribbean and African clientele, so theres a heavy emphasis on tropical fish. Its a pick-your-own plate -- just pick up the tongs and a bag -- and theyll clean and scale at no charge.
Normally went i want some good steam sea food i go by utica ave and rutland rd in Brooklyn, but since they close on sunday i decides to try this place just to get rid if the cravings. When i got in there it was confusing ... I pick 1/2 lb shrimp with shell they ganna tell me they dont clean it then i got some crab legs and inside the crab legs had some green stuff in there i had to ask her to remove. It... Now im used to telling how i want the seasoning. _(mild or spicy)here you have to put your own seasoning it so basic and the vegetable are kept behind a glass so u dont get to choose what u want and they$2 each smh nevet again
I usually get my steamed food from the Mexican lady not sure of her name. This particular day she was off and the Asian woman ( not sure of her name either ) she made my steamed fish and crab sticks. I got the worst food poisoning that Ive ever experienced in my life. To top it off I gave some of the food to my young son and he got it to. Never again.
I love this fish market the fish is always clean and fresh I always leave a tip for the for the ladys who are cooking up my fried or steamed food and for the guys who clean and cut up my fish everyone there is very welcoming Ill give you five stars I see you on Friday
Horrible experience I place my order paid for it as well then I was forgotten about 🤷♀️ 20 mins laterI spoke up, then she started cooking my food ,flies everywhere and they just ignored them the fish sandwich was horrible you can tell the oil was old and dirty 🤢 not eatable at all never going back .

2022-07-30Dont judge book by its cover or I should say place by store front. That flavor, taste and freshness is just unmatchable.

2021-05-11The owner should have the whole place fixed up and it needssome serious cleaning all over. The workers are over worked and under paid mostly immigrantswith deep accents. The whole place is dirty and seafoods are not clean properly. The employees and cooks are friendly and kind, but the customers are loud and rude. Customers are disrespectful. They pay cheap for food and expect high quality service. The place is so small and over crowded everytime I go there. I rather pay more money to eat better and cleaner seafood, someplace I can actually sit down and enjoy my food in a clean in a more friendly and inviting restaurant. I dont recommend this place
