Beautiful location for an event. We went to a cocktail hour hosted by a nonprofit organization and was impressed with the beautiful architecture of the main room, which was back lighted to look beautifully gothic. I assume that it’s just a bare space and the organizers had to bring in outside vendors for the food and drink. They had six small tables with four chairs each and three high-boy tables around the floor to allow for maximum networking space.
Weve had the pleasure of producing and assisting numerous events at Angel Orensanz and love working in this important and historic venue, with their dedicated and friendly staff. They also offer a unique selection of in house event rentals.AO is unlike any other space.
I was privileged to be a media guest of Art Hearts Fashion for my blog Street Fashion Sydney and White Caviar Life - NYC Edition - during NYFW. Terrific venue for showcasing the work of designers and a in a great part of town! I really enjoyed photographing at the venue and the experience - Thank you!
I was just working on making an extra wedding photo album for my aunt and looking back on my photos, I cannot believe it was real. The rental included so many things that it took a lot of worry and additional items off our list, which was a concern with many other venues we looked at who only let you use the vendors they selected and we were juggling quotes for flowers, china, linens, lighting, etc. Not worth the hassle! We met all of the most basic & important needs under one roof at the Orensanz (except for the linens) and the 12 hour rental gave us plenty of time for load in and out as well as an amazing party! The sound system is top notch (we are a musician heavy family and this was important to us), the lighting design and technician Roberto absolutely transformed the space.Maria was very accommodating. There was an exhibit up that we admired the day before and they were kind enough to leave up the art we liked to add to the ambience of our artsy downtown nuptials. I grew up in the neighborhood and getting married in my own community and having the flexibility to do things *my* way was very important to me, and the folks at the Orensanz were very kind to us, invested in our event, and gracious. I know they are under construction right now to shore up some structural issues (it is a very old building), and I hope they are 100% functional again soon! Loved it so much, we hope to return to host a 10 year vow renewal when the time comes.
Do not work with these people for your next event. They canceled our familys event last year after the Buildings Department shut the space after the floor nearly fell through (look it up on Google) -- and they would not give us back our money! There are thousands of event spaces in NYC - the pictures might look nice, but run away from this one. The management is not above board.
Such a beautiful landmark amazing amazing space would be an amazing venue for a wedding or any type of event we went to see simrit who is an amazing musician and ethereal musician and artist the vibe of the place was just perfect and I cant wait to go back for more events
A beautiful old synagogue (4th oldest in US) was abandoned and cancelled until Mr. Orensanz, a Spanish artist, saved it. Its now an art gallery and an event venue.Sarah Jessica Parker got married there, and a reform temple holds its High Holy Day services there.Magnificent.
A truly amazing place, over many years in NY I have known only now, on the occasion of the concert of the talented Carmen Consoli. It is a timeless place, a very pleasant acoustics, neither too big nor too small. It was the ideal setting for this fantastic concert by Consoli, an artist I knew but I appreciated even more for professionalism and skill. An evening not to be forgotten.
I have attended several events at Angel Orensanz Foundation and they are always of quality, there is no complaint about the space. It is crisp, spacious, and above all elegant. #Emporia did an excellent job in choosing this location for the final #TopModelLatina Gala

2018-04-24Saw a special concert there. Atmospheric, enchanting, and bohemian in style and architecture to me. Lighting effects were done to affect mood and feeling. I was in first row so sound totally enveloped us.Seats were adequate but closely spaced making it a little more intimate than some might like.I did not use the bathroom so cant comment on that.
