We generally stop here during most of our trips. Nice, clean, helpful, & friendly(pricey). There is one thing I would change. At both exits, there should be a STOP or warning saying; Did you enter here??? LOOK UP, is this your destination Route? Sometimes when tried or excited even sleepy you may or a family member or friend may use the wrong exit
One of my favorite New York State Thruway rest stops! What a unique location, can you stop to stretch your legs and use the self-contained walkways (North and Southbound) that runs over the top of the Thruway to get to your restrooms and restaurants (and there are plenty to choose from here). If you have children they are going to love this place!
I had the most humiliating experience, a girl told me that if I wanted the Italian bread I had to grab it myself because the tray was hot, 2 minutes later a worker grabbed the flag without gloves, I told her why she didnt give me the Italian bread, she told me that she was hot and that she couldnt because she was a woman, then she grabbed my sandwich and threw it back and said have a nice day
Travel Plazas, Rest Areas are always exciting to stop by, especially in US. They are very relaxing after long drives. Have coffee, tea, snack or a meal, pick up travel magazines, get hotel and tourist information, use rest rooms. Angola The plaza is one such place. We always stop at this location. There are at least four Restaurants including McDonald, subway, a kiosk, gift shops. Good place for a quick stop and bathroom break. Huge parking lot, gas station.
I dont know why we like this place as much as we do, but we do. Always a stop when heading south and always a stop when coming home. Pretty grubby, kind of dirty, but it has a landmark type of appeal. Hit the head, grab a coffee or Cinnabon, get gas, the usual. The bridge is a neat twist.
Walking through the skyline I witnessed an argument between and employee and boss… screaming and shouting over the rehire of less than worthy employee (the opinion of the distraught employee ). Ruined my entire morning. Not something you want to wake up to. The lady at the McDonald’s over charged me . The lady at the coffee stand was rude and unfriendly. Everyone kept shouting with each other over the mornings gossip and you clearly heard it across the plaza. Never mind we the customers felt as we were completely ignored .
Weird policies. I apologize up front i kind of jumped off at the hostesses. They wouldnt seat us because our party of 4 wasnt here yet, only 3 of us. Restaurant was near empty! They said we would have to wait ✋ STANDING until entire party arrived. I said ok then there is only 3 of us. They informed us that if anyone else arrives after we were initially seated then they would NOT be allowed to sit with us at our table. What??? I got huffy and manager came over and addressed situation, seated us. And explained they were just following rules they had been taught. I felt bad for blowing up...but ludicrous policy when Restaurant was no where near capacity.Other than pilicy it was a great family experience
I went to Moes and I saw couple with a dog. As I am looking at the menu and I notice Moes employee petting the couple dog. Having full blown conversation and didnt notice me standing, which I was ready to order. The female worker finally notice and ask how can she help me?? Really? This female worker didnt even wash her hand before touching the food station. She didnt have moral compass or sense enough to think to wash hands before serving anyone! Me? I just looked and walked away. Proceed to spend my money at Subway and the strange thing that the subway employee notice the samething about unsanitary about ppl bring there pets to food court area and pets arent service dogs.
Standard travel plaza that features a unique pedestrian bridge that connects both directions of the Thruway to a central rest area. This rest stop had the largest selection of restaurants I have seen on the Thruway. Give different places to eat at, such as Moes, McDonalds, Cinnabon and more.
Its kind of place in the middle of no where...easy in and out from the Interstate. Washrooms are clean, plenty of food to eat. I wish there was more than one coffee place. Gas is little expensive but not bad. Remember, there is no washroom in the gas station, use Plaza Washrooms. Lots of green area for dog business and trash cans nearby. I stop here on every one of my trip on that Interstate without fail.
Very expensive, restaurant staff is not friendly. They just want to get you served quickly and out of their way. Basic fast food restaurants that charge two-three times what the average chain charges. For instance at McDonalds a two cheeseburger value meal is $11.00 here, and $4.99 at other McDonalds elsewhere. A two taco meal is $15.00 here, and only $5.00 elsewhere and it doesnt include a drink.
This could be a very nice Travel Plaza. It is set in a beautiful location, but the services and accommodations are below standards of what they should be.Of the five to six restaurants that are located there, only two stay open. The rest close at 3 p.m.I was there for 10 hours and during that whole duration half of the restrooms were closed for cleaning with no attendant in sight.
The only rest area on I-90 between Buffalo and Erie. My grandson loves the tunnel over the highway. You can look out through the window at the traffic whizzing by. It has a few choices for food, coffee or treat (Cinnabon!). The rest rooms here are amazingly clean for such a much used travel center.
May seem like a long walk (for some) bit it was an enjoyable stretch walking across the bridge over traffic to the central bathroom and dining areas of the stop. The mem.bathroom was, architecturally, very interesting use of masonry and sinks. Creative and fun. The hand air dryers were a little low it seemed. The parking area, at night, could have been signed or lit up in some areas better. Maybe a parking lot paint job to improve visitor navigation.
McDonalds open 24hrs. Lots of other food options, Cinnabon, aunti Annies pretzels, Moes southwest. Bathrooms as clean as you can hope for in a busy rest area. Real neat view as you take the bridge over the highway. Try to get the truckers to honk at you. Things are a bit pricey, but on the thruway you dont have alot of options.
This morning I was in subway there and asked Afro American lady to make me sandwich from bread which stays first because I didn’t know how it’s call. I know they have a lot of breads. And she told me to give the name of the bread, I said I don’t know the names and just showed to her. At the end she just didn’t want me to serve, keep said “HAVE A NICE DAY”. I don’t know why people can be so rude. I was nice to her I didn’t deserve to treat like that. If she doesn’t like her job why she does that I don’t understand. I felt that she was just lazy to do something that’s all.
This has been my go to pit stop for decades when driving up to Niagara Falls. Clean bathrooms with lots of stalls so theres never a queue, a good variety of restaurants to choose from, and of course gas pumps. Its also accessible from both sides of the highway so it doesnt matter which direction youre travelling.
The only reason I am writing this review is to inform people that need cash for any reason, can definitely stop at this resting area and withdraw money. They have two machines (like that in the picture) that works as an ATM machine. We were on our way home and completely forgot that we did not have cash, and for those that dont have the ez-pass and need to pay the road toll, you can only pay with cash (American or Canadian dollars). This is just to help travelers as us. I have asked this question (if they had an ATM machine and nobody has replied, so I had to stop and check it. Bathrooms are clean and good as well. They have lots of options for food, vending machines and also tourist information desk. People say food is expensive, I havent check that.
Im not a big fan of the rest stops in the middle, but it is what it is. Its only a problem when you pull into the plaza and have to get to a restroom fast. Good luck with that. Otherwise, bathrooms were clean and rest stop was relatively clean with some decent food options.
Interesting travel plaza. Perhaps the way many used to be with the shops & restrooms being in the middle and having to walk across the walkway over the highway to get to them. While more efficient for the highway department, it takes significantly more time to get to the restrooms and shops.
Can not believe the prices in this place and McDonalds has a very RUDE sign posted at every register I mean we all know about Covid and wearing mask and social distancing I just feel they could have said what thet needed to say in a more respectful manner especially considering they might have a quarter of the original menu and what they do have is approximately 3x the actual price at other McDs
Neat rest stop. Theres a gas station to fuel up at. The food and gift shop stuff are on the other side of the highway. So you walk through a walkway that goes over the highway. Neat to stand there and watch the cars and trucks go speeding by under the walkway. Several stores to get food at. Prices are higher than a normal place but its a travel plaza so that is to be expected. Lots of parking also. Nice bathrooms, clean and convenient place to stop if you are traveling through the area.
Place feels safe but never see any sort of security. That bathrooms are gross but it is a rest area that sees hundreds of thousands of people per day Im sure. The McDonalds doesnt serve lunch until noon and the auntie Annes is literally never opened, no idea how it stays in business. There is a cinnabon store which is almost as good which is really the only place to stop for breakfast. The vending machines in front are a SCAM dont waste your money. Youll pay $8 for the same candy bar in the store inside but at least youll get it. The pop machines dont take any bill no matter how straight and the candy machine just takes your money and doesnt register it. SCAM
Interesting facility, in the middle of the freeway. Walk over the freeway to get to it. Nice facility inside, too. So, why 1 star? Ive stopped there about four times, at varying times of the day, and every time, the staff at the restaurants are what appears to be completely unsupervised youth. And youth who really *need* supervision. Like, being taught how to interact with customers. How to be professional. Etc. In general, every experience there has been creepy and cant wait to get out. I wont be back. Four tries is enough.
Handicap accessible although handicap button for the doors didnt work. Staff was friendly and helpful, I informed them of the button not working properly and the called maintenance right away. I stayed to rest and have something to drink (20 minutes)and upon leaving a employee walks me out being friendly. And when we got to the exit the maintenance department was working on the issue and also apologized for any inconvenience. Now this will be a always stop for me whenever I have to go this route!!!👍👍👍
Dont eat here unless you dont care about what youre spending for fast food. For 2 McChicken 2 mcdoubles and 4 small fries was $34....... No McDonalds is worth $34 in America, if I would have waited 10 minutes, I would have saved half. Wendys prices were normal, idk whats going on hereThe set up over the highway was unique, the children loved the experience walking over the highway.
Accessible from both sides of the highway with an enclosed walkway leading from one side to the other. Lots of parking and gas stations on both sides. Plus diversity in the food/restaurant choices, along with all the other necessities of a stop (sweet treats, rest rooms, etc), there was also a player piano....beautiful music galore!
The older black female working right now, August 8th, 2021 at 2:25 pm, is RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and her hygiene is not one that belongs in a public space serving food. She had the audacity to fling her hand at me yall can go because she cant hear or do her job! Lol. The food looked old anyway, so she definitely didnt bother me.. but someone should review her customer service and replace her and that nasty attitude!
Very pretty and clever to be able to look down at the road when the cars are passing, I believe that I wouldve been more pretty at night. I gave it three out of five stars because due to COVID-19 the gift shop wasnt open and some of the other places werent open, overall this was very nice.
This place is pretty cool because it is located in the middle of the highway. There is a long bridge that crosses over both sides of the highway. The bathrooms were clean and there are plenty of stalls. The first time we stopped everything but McDonalds was closed, definitely because of covid. From what I remember there is a coffee shop, Cinnabon, Auntie Anns, McDonalds, and there were a few more but I just cant remember them.
It is cool being able to walk in the bridges over the highway and watch all the cars zooming by. The bridges get very hot in the summer though. The bathrooms at this place are decently clean and seem well maintained. Somewhat good selection of options for food and beverages, definitely a little pricey.
A little dated but there is a large variety of food and snacks inside and everything has always been clean during our visits. The self playing piano is a nice touch while waiting or eating. The walkway over the highway is really cool. The kids especially enjoy watching vehicles drive right under them.
Very Unique and different type of rest stop. Rest stop sits in the middle of the interstate and you walk through the overpass above traffic to get to the food and bathrooms. This location has a wide variety of choices including Coffee shop, Cinnabon, Subway, McDonalds, Taco place, and a Pizza shop.
Clean restrooms and lots of places to choose from to eat. The lady working at the gift shop was super friendly! The fastfood restaurants are overpriced being on the turnpike, be prepared to pay roughly double for the normal prices. The walking bridge over the highway way nice, our little ones loved stopping for a moment to watch the trucks and cars drive under us. :)
Trucker. Good place to stop for a 10 or 30 if you can find parking. Nice break from the usual truck stop food chains. Clean bathrooms but it’s a walk if you struggle with distance. Expensive as you would expect.I appreciate that they’re open during the pandemic (looking at you Wyoming, closing the only bathroom for 120 miles).
During the pandemic, the long corridors are psychologically threatening and likely not the safest places due to the sheer number of people. It may save the state money to have one central facility, but it is strenuous for older travelers even when there is no health crisis. The McDonalds was OK and served the order fast while trying to maintain social distancing. Restrooms were well maintained.
This had been my favorite rest stop since childhood and it is so unique. I love walking across the bridge and the variety of food options. Their are a ton of bathrooms stalls and the bathroom isnt brand new but it works. There are so many food options that work for a variety of dietary restrictions and lots of seating space.
My truck broke down at this place in New York. I give it 2stars due to the location in the median being very unique. The costs at all the stores were VERY REDICULOUS! I paid over $15 for my usual dollar menu order thats less than $5 all together! My w for $3 20oz Code Red Mountain Dew cost like 2for$6!
We stopped because the pregnant lady had to go... but, we loved this plaza. The bathrooms were clean. But, someone was in there real foul and I had to walk almost to the last stall to be released from that rank fog! The walkway over the highway was pretty cool. Kinda scary, but cool! Loved the food court choices. A nice plaza to take a break!
Ancient and worn out looking. Prices are exorbitant. Strange walking path needed to visit rest area. Close it up. And then put in an exit so private companies can provide the services.Update on September 1st 2021. Even more filthy than 2 years ago. Restrooms are disgusting, with spider webs and stains on the handles. Two stalls had no T paper. This poor management, coupled with closure of other facilities makes traveling on a paid expressway makes traveling in New York truly disgusting.Who is responsible?
How do you rate a travel plaza??? This is definitely a unique setup with a walkway over the highway to get to a travel plaza between the eastbound and westbound lanes. Always seems to be busy. Lines for food at most of the fast food restaurants were about 15 minutes long. Bathrooms were ok and seemed clean.
Very handy double-sided east and west bound rest stop. McDonalds is always open, but there are several more options if you stop during the day. The kids will love walking over the foot bridges to the facility - neat view with the other travelers driving by below. The restrooms are consistently kept clean and clear.
Wonderful port in a storm! Found ourselves in the late Jan snow storm and was able to get off the road here. Love the coffee kiosk in the center. Clean bathrooms. Convenience store had an ice scraper. McDonalds was letting people sit without purchase. Everyone working together helped make a bad situation better!
Great stop but understaffed. The coffee stand had no one staffing it - it replied on staff at the far end of the hall who cant be in two places at once. Its clean. The McDonalds said they had fresh brewed coffee but did not. Then they forgot our order. When we reminded them that they had forgotten us they said someone else mustve picked up our order - except we had been the only ones waiting by the counter the entire time.

2022-06-07I used to love this rest area because of the great restaurants and the piano. But now with a little dog it’s not fun. It’s a bit of a walk to the bathrooms and restaurants. There’s an information center between the bathrooms. I did not see any gender neutral or family bathrooms but I was in a hurry to get back to my little dog on the other side of the walkway. The bathrooms are clean. They have both hot air hand dryers and paper towels. They have automatic flush and many hooks for hanging bags and jackets in the stall. The toilet paper was good and well stocked. There are also vending machines. The gas station is easy to access. No hand sanitizer available. One of the paper towel holders had towels in it.

2021-11-23This is the STANDARD for travel plazas, as it features a pedestrian overpass connecting both sides of the interstate. The food court is spacious with several franchises featured. The bathrooms are clean and sizable. There are vending machines and retail stores selling refreshments, foodstuffs and knickknacks. Outside the travel plaza is a plaque about Western New Yorks history. There are water fountains of varying sizes for adults and young children. Parking is plentiful and uncomplicated.

2022-03-23Its a really nice rest stop and its the 1st one when you enter new York from Pennsylvania from the I90 highway. It has a lot of good food options. If your doing night traveling through this rest stop is very empty. But theirs no food places opened at night only the McDonalds is opened. Minus that its a great rest stop and one of the best on the New York through way.

2022-02-17Dreadful! Smells like a port a potty. Every elected official needs to be made to visit here eat here and use the bathrooms. Maybe then... This place will get the attention it desperately needs. Gut it and rebuild into something that feels safe, smells good and has good food options with clean areas to sit and eat.

2022-06-03Coming from Ohio, I have never seen a service area/rest stop quite like this. This has so many restaurants and a giant bathroom. The bridge over the highway is unique for sure. I will say the workers are quite rude, but hey, its New York.

2022-06-26Its a decent rest stop with restrooms, fuel and a small area for your pets! But be advised the restrooms 🚻 and plaza are in the center of the highway and you cross a walk bridge to get to the plaza and restrooms! My girlfriend got confused and went to the wrong side after using the restroom and thought I had left her there!! 😆😔

2022-07-01Stop here every time, restaurants are okay, bathrooms are very clean and gas prices are not to high.
