After calling and leaving a message, Joe got right back to me and came out for an estimate within a week. He is personable, professional, and arrived on time. Anjoe Tree Service was very easy to work with. They did additional work that was not in the original scope. We had 3 large trees taken down with a crane and 6 smaller trees, including stump grinding. The team was in and out within 2.5 hours. I would absolutely recommend Anjoe and would use them again for additional work.
Joe (the owner) quoted me a fair price for taking out a massive tree near my back deck. Four workers came and did a wonderful job of removal and clean up. They took great care of setting up the crane on my lawn, leaving it virtually untouched afterwards. The whole process took less then half a day. Service is very professional and highly recommended.
Joe and his crew are highly skilled. We had a massive silver maple to take out and the did it in half the time of other estimates. Job site was very well cleared. They protected our lawn and driveways from the weight of the crane and other vehicles needed. Nobody sat around ever. Every piece of the puzzle was moving. Not only was the property clean of debris when finished they left it cleaner than they came to it. We would totally recommend Anjoe hands down.
Joe and his crew removed a tree trunk that had fallen on our house. They fit us into their schedule the day after Joe came for the estimate with their full crew. They were super efficient, professional and informative...They told us about a hole that the tree had punctured along with a damaged drip edge, which we wouldnt have known about. Joe also looked at and assessed some of our other trees for us, giving us really good information so we could make some decisions for ourselves. Were on their list for another tree removal (theyre very busy) and I cant be happier to have found a tree service whos now our go-to. Thank you Anjoe!!! We appreciate you so much!! Cheers.
We had a tree that needed to be removed from the back of our property that was in a very difficult spot, up against the wall of our garage and a fence behind it, also overhanging two neighbors garages. Other contractors that came to look either never called back or werent sure how they would even be able to access it. Anjoe came to look at it, said this is how well do it, this is when we can do it, this is how long it will take, and this is how much it will cost with no hesitation; I knew immediately this was the company for the job, and theyre the only company Ive called for tree work twice since then. I couldnt be happier with everything theyve done for us so far.
Joe fit me into his schedule today and the guys were here early with all their equipment. The entire crew was polite, friendly and professional. They removed several trees and limbs, ground stumps, cleaned the yard and did an all around great job. They were mindful of my neighbors and removed a couple large trees without incident next to buildings. Amazing to watch the coordination of the climber and the crane!I would hire this crew again and highly recommend them.
Great company! Had them come to our home a few times now to remove trees. Some were extremely large and one was especially dangerous as it was very close to our house. They have always been very professional. The crew is great and they always do a thorough job. Very pleased with Anjoe Tree Service and have recommended them many times.
Joe and his crew cleaned up the canopy in my yard and now my trees are healthy and beautiful! They got the job done quickly and cleaned up behind themselves. Anjoe Tree Service is the place to call for tree removal. As a result of the storms in the Capital District on October 7, 2020, a very large tree limb fell onto my deck. I called Joe and despite his heavy workload due to the storm, he came over to assess the situation and quickly scheduled a time to do the removal. The team worked efficiently and with care. Ive used Anjoe Tree Service for the past 10 years and will do so again in the future!
We couldnt be happier with the service Joe and his crew did yesterday. They removed a tree from my backyard and, expertly removed and replaced part of our fence in order to bring the equipment into the yard to grind the stump down well below the ground. They also cleaned up spectacularly from back to front of the house.We chose the company with no references other than the info on the website and the other customer reviews. I would recommend them to anyone.
Joe and his crew did a wonderful job removing an indescribable amount of downed trees from our yard after a severe storm. They were responsive, arrived on time, careful not to damage anything else, cleaned up debris afterwards, and followed up later to grind out the stumps. Great job!
Took down a huge maple and large pine in the front yard of a home in city proper. Joe took care of all the permits for me and was extremely responsive. They were great dealing with all the power lines as well. By the end of the day you would have never guessed trees of that size were there just hours before. Highly recommend Joe and his team!
AMAZING! We were referred by a friend of ours about Anjoe Tree service. We were in desperate need of a good tree service, because of the terrible experience we had with two other tree services we have had in the last few years. I called the next day and Joe called me back in the evening and came to our home the next morning and assessed everything we wanted to be done and answered all the questions we had. Joe and his team came to our home today and did this beautiful work and at a great price. All this was done in a few days. We are forever grateful and we recommend Anjoe Tree service! The house that I moved in had a yard that was like a forest covered with a ton of trees and shrubs. I hired Anjoe and his crew to cut and trim them. They did a fantastic job and the price was very reasonable. His workers are very capable and he keeps top notch equipment. He even came back to cut down a tree that I had missed to tell him!
We hired Anjoe to remove several arborvitae trees for a fence installation. Joe left me a message saying hed be there the following Saturday. Ive had problems in the past with workmen not showing up when scheduled, so I called Joe back & left a message to verify theyd be there on Saturday, because the fence installation was scheduled for the following Monday. Joe showed up on Tuesday, the day after I called, & they promptly removed all the trees, plus ground the stumps & cleaned it all up. They did a great job at a very reasonable price & we will call him for any future tree removal work we need due to his great rates & dependable service!
Joes crew did an incredible job taking down an enormous dead maple tree right next to my house. They had all the right equipment and it was fascinating to watch them handle such a difficult task with efficiency and precision. They were extremely professional and left the site immaculate. Joe had done a small job for me last year. I told him about another job and he gave me a quote. I wound up not getting it done due to other financial obligations. This year I called them back for an estimate in April since I wanted to ask them to also trim a few limbs off another tree as well. Sal came out and was very nice and first gave me a higher quote than Joe did last year but when I told him about the quote I got, he agreed to honor it which I thought was great. He told me they would be out to do the job in about 3 weeks. 4 weeks went by and I hadn’t heard from them so I called & was told they would get to me soon. After a very rainy spring and few hiccups in communications and scheduling and leading to me getting frustrated and writing my first disappointing review, Joe called me to apologize and tell me he values his customers. He got right to my job. And again they did an excellent job. I came home to find the tree limbs gone and little evidence that anyone had even been there. No messes to clean up. Thank you. I would recommend Joe, Sal and the Anjoe team!
I Had called another tree service who had given me approximate times twice but never showed. Called Anjoe, he gave me a time period then a definite date.He showed up on date stated. I had two backyard trees that was a little difficult to access but the crew did a fantastic job in a relatively short amount of time for what was done. The price seemed very fair, worth every penny. I have been using Anjoe for over eight years. I was lucky in finding them on Angies List the first time I contacted them. Over the years Anjoe has performed many services for us. Last October we had a destructive wind storm and Joe responded in person to my house within an hour to review the damage. Watching his staff remove tall trees is like watching a ballet.
I have used Anjoe for major tree services in the past. Their prices were significantly lower than some of the corporate tree service companies that also gave me quotes for the same projects. Now that I am renting out my house, I trust Joe and his crew to arrive at the property, access the trees for routine maintenance and preform their services without me even needing to be present at the work site. I know they are professional and they always charge a very fair price. They send me a bill and I can just mail them a check after the work is done. I would highly recommend their services especially if you want a crew that can do the job without any homeowner supervision needed. The work will be done right the first time!
Joe offered a very competitive price to remove a huge tree in Albany, then his team arrived exactly when promised and worked very quickly. They even went above and beyond to clean up brush from my yard, and ground down four additional tree stumps they found around the property (and didnt inflate the bill!). Excellent customer service! I would definitely recommend them to others and hire them again.

Anjoe tree Srvice did an incredible job removing a fallen pine tree in my back yard along with 3 other huge pine trees on my property. They returned my call promptly. They showed up on time and worked through a snow storm and even raked up once the trees were down. This is a very professional tree service. They work very hard and are experts at what they do. I couldnt be any happier and Thankful to have found them.
Joe’s team did a great job. We had a large maple tree removed. They didn’t damage the yard, and did such a good job cleaning up you couldn’t even tell work had been done aside from some sawdust.
I had two 70 year old sugar maples in very tight plot of land, one was 70 feet tall. Difficult to maneuver but they brought in a narrow width truck crane. The team of 6 guys showed up early, did all work on site, no joke. All left by 3PM and site left clean. Amazing work. Glad I hired Joe and his team.
Joe and his team are awesome. Took a bunch of trees down. Guys were great got around the pool even. Best deal in town. First job for me but he did a bunch of jobs for my dad and daughter over the years all with the same results. 5 stars for sure every time.

Our environmental park is located in Albany/Menands and we have a large number of large trees- when we need professional help to remove a tree or to make a tree safe we always call Anjoe Tree Service. They are responsive and professional. The job is always - always completed as expected and they leave our park clean with our any trace the work was competed.
This is the second year I have used Anjoe for removing several trees and stump grinding. Joe gave me the best estimate last year and did an outstanding job. There was no reason to call anyone else this year. Both times, he came when he promised to come, left our property spotless, and checked to make sure I was completely satisfied. Service doesnt get any better than that. I highly recommend this company.
I needed to have a tree taken down in the front yard and one trimmed in the backyard. Called Joe at anjoe to get an estimate and he showed up that afternoon. Called him the following week and agreed to have him do the job. His crew showed up the next day and did an excellent job. Would highly recommend them for any further tree jobs I would have.
I am not going to right a big review here. But long story short, the owner Joe is really rude and if you mention on phone that you have call other tree removal/pruning companies in the area. He will say NOT INTERESTED and will hung up the phone on you, just like one of the other review has mention. Honestly, the guy needs to act according to his age. Really eager to see how Anjoe will respond back to this review.
I was down in the dumps because a tree fell on my house during a recent storm. I called Anjoe Tree Service to come to my house immediately for help. They are extremely professional and fair with their prices. I liked that they are a local business and they treated me with kindness during my time in need. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again in the future.
This service was great. They did an awesome job for the best price I could find in Albany. I would not have even known they were at my house except that my tree was gone- they left no mess whatsoever. They did such a great job that my neighbor booked them almost immediately after they saw our tree gone.
Joe and his team were timely, professional and respectful. There was a very tricky tree to take down which was difficult to reach and right over a power line. They did an excellent job, and safety was a priority. Clean-up thorough. I have already recommended Anjoes to a neighbor.
This service sometimes has to reschedule appointments, and when the do, it can be difficult to contact them. When the do show up, however, they work quickly and safely. There were no cost overruns, and the trees were removed and the stumps ground down at a reasonable price, given the size of the trees being removed. They did not attempt to upsell me with removing additional trees which did not need to be removed.
Fast, efficient, safe, clean, professional. The job was completed within 48 hours of first contact for an estimate. A crew of 5 needed only one hour for the removal of a very tall tree. The boss made sure everything was done right. A very tight spot for removal was maneuvered via crane to chipper. Clean up was excellent. Price was very low considering size of crew and equipment.

I have a hedgerow that I affectionately refer to as the green monster that Joes crew came out to trim and prune. The hedgerow is about 30 long and my guess is that it was about 18 tall...give or take a couple of feet.Joe came to look at the job and suggested that I lower the hedgerow by 3 to 5 feet because he said it was getting top heavy and could get damaged in a high wind. The hedgerow is at the very end of my pool and serves as a vital screen from the other end of the yard, so that insight was invaluable - if one of these arbor vitae came down my back yard would look like it had a tooth missing. Joe also showed me where signs of where the excessive height was affecting how the row was growing, and he said that he would tie back together parts that were starting to bend.He also mentioned that the hedgerow didnt need to be pruned every year - only about every four years or so. So, I was impressed that he wasnt the type of guy to create business that wasnt really needed. If he hadnt said that, I probably would be calling him every year.Joe also gave me some pruning hints and pointed out that what I pruned back last year looked OK. That feedback was both helpful and reassuring.Joe had 3 young guys come out that he referred to as muscles. The guys were very polite and seemed pretty bright. They did the work in the rain and, although it wasnt a downpour, it was a pretty darned wet rain coming down.I watched at times to see how they were doing (from the dryness of my kitchen window, of course!). They definitely took their time - it seemed to me that they wanted to be sure to get the job done right. I have a pretty strong feeling that Joe pushes them to do a quality job.Joe stopped by and pointed to a spot the guys had cut the hedgerow down to in one spot, and he asked me if that looked good to me. It indeed did, so the green monster got a nice little hair cut.My wife was REALLY after me to get the green monster back under control. I was a little worried about how she would react because she was sounding concerned about the green monster becoming shorter. She was pretty happy when she saw it.Joe said the cost would be between $300-$500, depending on how low I wanted the green monster to be lowered (3 to 5 lower). When he stopped by he said the price was $400 plus sales tax. I dont really know exactly how much the guys took off the top, but I think it was closer to 5 than 3, so I think Joe gave me a break on the price.The guys cleaned up pretty well, and they really did do a nice job, especially considering the weather. The work took a couple of hours or so, which is what Joe said it would be. I tipped the guys $20 each, given what they had to work in and all.I will say that Joe was hard to contact in the beginning, which I partly wondered initially if he was not responsive, or if he was just busy. I had two appointments to meet him at my house at 5:30, but he came and left by the time 5:30 came, so I missed him both times. Now that I know Joe better than I originally did, I clearly realize that he is a super busy guy and not the type of person to sit around and wait - I think hes always on the move!I also had a complete brain fart because Joe said the work would be done on a Wednesday. I decided to take the day off and no one showed up. I was getting upset, but then realized I WAS OFF BY A WEEK! After I made a number of manic calls to Joe, and after I later realized I goofed, I feel pretty grateful that he didnt bounce me off of his customer list. I certainly did apologize to him for MY mistake.In summary, I would definitely recommend Joe to neighbors, family and friends. And, I personally will be a bit more patient and a bit clearer about what week of the month Im in!
Joe showed up when he said he would, both for estimating and doing the work. My tree, the branches of which surrounded numerous utility wires, was quickly and professionally removed and at a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

I was looking for tree service so I called 3 companies. I left a message for AnJoe Tree Service. My cell phone rings later in the day and I said this is Dave, the man on the other end said this is Joe, I thought who is this, then I remembered I called anJoe Tree Service. Then Joe went on to say you called several companies for estimates?, I said yes, he then said no thanks not interested and abruptly hung up on me. You would think when you call someone they would say Hi this is Joe from anjoe tree service can I speak to Dave??? Apparently they dont need the business. Sorry to say Joe you are in sales selling your service, Im sorry you would not take the time to give me an estimate.Dear Joe, When you called me back I had no idea who was calling me you only said this is JOE. Then I said oh as I looked at my list and saw An Joe tree service.I never said I was looking for a cheaper price, that is a LIEyou asked me if I had other estimates I said yes, you then said NO THANKS IM NOT INTERESTED and HUNG UP ON ME. We had a 15 second conversation.My phone was on speaker and my wife heard the whole conversation.Please be accurate with your response on Google, I am sure you offer quality work and labor based on other reviews. Unfortunately I never had the opportunity to hire you based on you hanging up on me.
Joe removed and destumped several trees on my property while i was on vacation. When I returned home it was like they were never there. Excellent clean up, prompt responses, fair pricing. Well be contacting him for more work in the future.

I found Anjoe online and on 8/9/19 we talked by phone and we agreed on $200 for one tree and an extra $50 for the stump/roots, but I would have to wait a few weeks. I followed up on 9/14/19, since I hadnt heard from him, and he stated that he didnt remember the job and would have to come back and look at it and didnt remember what he had quoted me. I told him the price quote and he said to send him a text with my address and he would come by and look again. I followed up with him several times via text over the next week about coming to see the project and on 9/24/19 he responded that he would come by the next day. To make it worth his while I also asked for a quote for another similar sized tree to be removed. He calls me today 9/25/19 and tells me $800 for both trees. When I asked what the break down of the cost was because the one tree was $250 and how did we get to $800....he yelled at me that this is what the price is and if you dont like it then to go somewhere else. When I commented that this was not a professional attitude he stated I am very professional, 32 years professional, and I am so professional that I will not do business with you and hung up the phone. Later on that afternoon I sent a text saying that I was sorry he had a bad day and was sorry that my question was offensive to him but I needed to understand the cost, and, would he still consider doing the job for me?.....he texted me back no. If you are thinking of doing business with this man/business then please, think again. Regards-----**UPDATE** Joe/Anjoe is now sending me threatening voicemails. He stated I better have a good lawyer because he is meeting with his lawyer this morning and will sue me for liable regarding my disgusting review. He said I have a small life and have nothing better to do than to harass him. Hes the one who has left two recorded voicemails for me...so who is harassing who?? Again, be cautious doing business with this person.Anjoes clarification of my false review sounds a lot like what I said above, only his is slanted with some self-serving accounts of events. Events unfolded EXACTLY as I stated in my review. There are also other reviews accounting of his anger management issues and bad temper, especially towards women. Believe what you wish....
GREAT work. Very professional and shows up when he says he will.Team spent HOURS in my yard, taking down trees surrounded by loads of power and cable lines, and my beautiful screened in gazebo. All the branches came down and nothing was damaged. Stacked the wood, cleaned up and off they went. Ill have them come back in the Spring! Thanks!
After an initial hiccup in scheduling and communication during their busy season, Joe, the owner, called personally to make things right. The job was completed As expected and then some. Clean up was flawless and I would recommend.
Cant say enough good things about Anjoe. I was amazed to watch them take down 3 large pines (with electrical wires running through them) in just over an hour!. True professionals and its obvious all 4 of the crew know their craft very well. Even with the ground still wet from this past tough winter, they left zero mess. I would use again and highly recommend.

Had some branches cut from a large silver maple that were close to our house, fence and a shed. Reasonable, professional, courteous and respectful of property.
Loved watching this crew at work.....each guy knew his stuff, very professional, quick and the cleanup was great. They even helped me round up some baby squirrels that had been housed in the tree. Great guys.

Seeing them working in my neighbors yard, I asked the foreman if they could also remove a tree in my yard as well. They did the job very quickly at a very good price.
I didnt use them nor would I ever...drive in car with license plate 99950 MD just made a racist comment to my teenage daughter, She didnt move her car fast enough...shes a new driver and a good kid in high school taking college classes. Unacceptable

2022-07-05One of three huge Popular trunks in our yard was dead. Of course it was the tallest of the three, 110-feet tall. Joe and the crew were able to work around the two live trees to remove the dead tree in the back. When I saw the top part of the tree falling apart as it was wheeled around, I was worried about our mailbox, but so was Joe and the crew. They maneuvered perfectly to save the mailbox. A 2-hour operation with no collateral damage. Excellent work.

2021-11-10Professional service and great follow up by Joe. He and his crew did a great job trimming some huge limbs away from my house and took down some large trees for a neighbor. They worked in tight spaces safely and carefully. They cleaned up everything nicely. Very happy with Anjoe Tree Service. Would recommend and would use again.

2022-06-24I have used Anjoes tree service for a couple of years at my company and they have always done a great job.This time they stepped up even more when I needed them the most at my house. I had a huge branch fall from a willow tree fall over my pool equipment still attached to the tree. The only thing saving the equipment was the front branches hitting the ground holding the branch up. Before anything could happen Joe and his crew was there with his crane cleaning up the mess.

2020-03-27FANTASTIC!!!!Joe was a pleasure to work with! His entire crew was very polite,courteous and respectful of my lawn and pool area. They had to work in a tough area over an inground pool and gazebo and when the job was done NOTHING was harmed!! The crew had to use part of my neighbors yard in the take-down of the large trees, and left his property spotless!!!The entire operation was top notch, from Joes communications with me,to his FIRST class crew, to his quick turn around time, and best of all his estimate!!!I would HIGHLY recommend this company!!!! 2021-11-09For years My Uncle has been using Joe for tree removal at our various rental properties. 2 weeks ago I had a huge tree in my yard tip and land on my house...the heavy limbs landed on my beautiful huge bonzai tree. The way it way laying on the tree I really thought there was no way anyone could save my tree.I called joe and he responded immediately coming to look same day. We set up for him to come remove the tree and Joe knew how important the bonzai was to me. I watched this process from my upstairs window and I couldnt have been more impressed by Joe. He directed his crew in a way that they were able to lift the huge limbs and saved my tree. The way he interacted with his crew was very impressive!I would hire Joe again in a heartbeat! 2020-10-02WOW! My family and I were beyond pleased with the services Anjoe Tree Service provided. We had over a dozen very large trees/stumps removed and several other very large trees pruned. Their crew came in like a convoy and worked like a well oiled machine. Their work was precise and thorough with full attention to every little detail. Our property is now bright and cleared. 2021-08-08I first personally used Anjoe’s services many, many years ago for a very complex cabling job on a beautiful clump of birch that had been laid low after an extremely early and heavy October snowfall bent each individual trunk so that each of the crowns were touching the ground. Joe’s skillful work saved this magnificent clump birch which we were all able to enjoy for many more years. I and my community’s HOA has been so impressed with Anjoe’s work for any number of individual homeowners over the years that we regularly use them to do necessary and often challenging tree trimming and removal work on trees on our common property. Joe and his crew know what they are doing. They are especially impressive when removing extremely large trees and tree limbs that have at times seemed to be daunting and beyond what other services have been able to handle. Their quotes have always been less than other service’s so much so and so consistently that Anjoe has become our “go to” company for tree removal. They treat every piece of property with respect, take great care with prep and clean up. All evidence of the huge amount of work they have done to remove even the largest trees is cleaned up beautifully and whisked away. It’s a pleasure doing business with Anjoe and, as you can see, I recommend them very highly.

2020-09-21The price was fair, work was well done, and customer service excellent. Anjoes tree service did a wonderful job from beginning to end. Upon calling for an estimate, they promptly returned my call and and scheduled a time to come out for the estimate. They were a bit booked out, but they called and scheduled the service (closer to the end of the estimated interval). On the day of the service they arrived promptly, worked professionally and efficiently, taking down a challenging hardwood tree utilizing a crane over the house, as the backyard near the tree had no access. I highly recommend this company.

2020-02-25These guys are the real deal! If you’re in the capital district you would be silly not to use them. I had 6 massive trees cut down along with some shrubs and all the stumps were ground down.

2021-05-10Anjoe did good work in removing a very, very large tulip poplar that was causing damage to our foundation. Given its size and how it was hanging over my house, I worried that the work would be a mess that potentially would damage my home - but it ended up not a problem at all for Joes team. We had a number of estimates before going with Anjoe - they came in with a very competitive price but with professionalism that can be hard to find.My advice: if you need to have this kind of work done, at least call Joe to get an estimate. It may save you lots of money and headaches.
