Menu is basic American favorites!Food was served quickly and plates nicely! The quality and quantity was perfect. Especially loved the meat sauce. Our waitress was working alone, but she was hustling! She was polite and friendly while making everyone happy!Excellent service.
Awesome prices and food! Inside needs to be updated tho. The workers are friendly!Be aware, still as of 12/27/2021 this establishment only accepts cash.Edit: 1/7/2022 menu has a new look and prices have been raised. They have also changed brands of their food it seems since the corn beef hash is different than before and they added a different seasoning to our breakfast potatoes. But all was ok and you still get a decent bang for your buck. I still recommend.
Sorry not as impressed as I was the last time. I ordered a bacon Cheeseburger. It was horrible. I did tell the waitress and she told the cook... the cooks response was worse than my burger in which I couldnt eat. She told the waitress well yelled it behind my head that she didnt know what I wanted from her.. Hopefully they make a change. It might be a while before I go back.
We went here because it seemed like a cheap and quick place to grab a bite to eat on our way back home. Unfortunately, after being seated and getting our drink order, we never saw the server again or were acknowledged at all. Cant speak on the food since we didnt even get to order in the near half hour we waited, but the service ruined any chance of enjoying this place anyway.
The food was excellent. The staff is nice. The bathrooms were clean but I had to put toilet paper out. The booths are somewhat scruffed up so dont wear clothes that will pill easily. Bring an appetite. The servings are nicely generous! I loved the coffee. I tried both the regular and the decaf. Both were equally nice.
It is not very often that I get genuinely impressed by breakfast foods. Like... Lick the plate-Write your mama-Thank Jesus- kind of impressed. I walked into Ann’s pancakes at 9am with my two sons. First Impression: wow this place is busy! Second Impression: what beautiful booths and flooring! We were quickly seated as soon as a table was available, received our drinks promptly, and got our orders sent to the cook ASAP. Food was ready and hot to our table shortly thereafter.Son #1 ordered 3 chocolate chip pancakes. Oh my goodness. What HUGE pancakes. And I’m pretty certain they used an entire bag of chocolate chips just for his order! Perfectly fluffy and completely devoured.Son #2 ordered a cheese omelet and cinnamon toast. Melts, cheesy perfection for the omelet; planning to try the “garbage omelet next time! The cinnamon toast was kissed with just enough cinnamon and a perfectly golden toast. Melted butter on it and oh Lordy!!I ordered my usual breakfast that I order anywhere I go. Corned beef hash EXTRA EXTRA crispy with two eggs over-easy. I put emphasis on EXTRA crispy because that’s how I always order it, and order breakfast joints still send out a mushy pile of bleh. That was not the case at Ann’s!! Crispy crunchy deliciousness with perfectly runny eggs right on top. I couldn’t have made it better myself at home!Overall, I give Ann’s Pancakes an overwhelming 10/10. The staff was friendly, the coffee kept coming, and the restaurant was impeccably clean. We will definitely be eating many more breakfasts out!
A little skeptical going into Annes but once we got there and sat down and saw the food coming out we were so glad we came. Mom and I both had the LA French Toast, we are still talking about it weeks later. It was amazing, the waitress was friendly and the people there were all so pleasant. We were only on an overnight trip but I do hope one day to go back for more of their french toast. Prices are so cheap and the food is delicious. Highly recommend!
It doesnt get any more HOMETOWN DINER than Annes Pancakes in Elmira, NY! Its just like I remembered from my childhood. I recently moved back to my hometown and had to go to Annes Pancakes for Sunday breakfast. Good food. Best prices in town. The only drawback is that the place is so popular theres always a wait.
Local Ma & Pop type dinner, all the locals go here for daily breakfast. Excellent food & friendly services. I would totally recommend eating here for breakfast or lunch or both, why not? Foods amazing.&!! They have a unisex bathroom. All genders welcomed here. I love it.
Wife, friend and myself went for fish fry. They both got the fish fry and I ordered a seafood platter to include 3 deep fried, butterflied shrimp and deep fried clam strips in addition to the deep fried fish. The meal included 2 sides (macaroni and cheese, slaw, fries, side salad) a roll and associated condiments. Overall, the meals were very tasty! There seemed to be only one small problem and that was with the fried fish. Not sure if it was crowding the fried or if the temp dropped or the time was a bit short or even the batter was not thin enough, but we did find that there were a few uncooked, doughy parts. The fish itself appeared to be cooked, but some thicker parts of the batter, although appearing cooked, were not completed. These were simply peeled off and removed. The fish itself was good and the service was exemplary. In some places, this seems to be an ongoing issue with Friday night fish frys. Prices were what one expected with the fish dinner @ $9.50 and seafood platter @ $11.95. We enjoyed Lisa waiting tables and she checked often for our needs. We would return in the future for another!
Anns has been a staple diner in Elmira for as long as I can remember.Went for lunch today and the place was packed! Counter, booth, and table seating available. All different people eat here and it might be the truest cross section of Elmiras varied population.Menu is full of comfort food choices and breakfast is served til close. The prices are unrivaled, this is affordable and hearty cuisine. Drinks are served canned or bottled with a glass of ice. The Coffee is on all day. Dessert pies are in the cooler near the counter and change regularly (banana cream was delicious!)Parking is on the South Main St and in the small lot behind the building. Dont block the alley ;)
Amazing classic diner!!!! Huge, fluffy pancakes with plenty of chocolate chips/blueberries if thats the way you like them. The LA cinnamon french toast is also to die for. Great classic egg/meat/homefry type breakfasts with huge portions, low prices, and fast service. The building hasnt seen an update in years, no frills, but this place cant be beat!!

2021-11-12Really a great place. Food is home style, cooked perfectly, reasonably priced and the staff were great. Awesome to find a nice local restaurant in my travels. Soo sick of chains. Deff going back whenever my company is in the area.

2022-04-29It has a great family feel. Food is always tasty and the prices are great. There are not to many places left where you can get good fresh meal and drink for under $10. Ive been going here for years, between here and welsburg dinner. Good food great prices and family atmosphere.

2022-07-09The service was nice but unfortunately the food definitely was not what we remembered the eggs were incorrectly cooked the toast was burnt and dry and the potatoes were burnt to a crisp on one side inside looks nicer than it used to looks like a remodel but the food itself was the downer

2022-01-02Honestly we had a great meal! We were in a time crunch before a baseball game. My daughter loves that she could have a breakfast sandwich with her French fries for dinner. My turkey club was delicious. Waitress was lovely and when the gravy for my dads fries wasnt hot it was taken care of quickly and hot gravy delivered.

2021-12-27Just had breakfast, but both the eggs and bacon were cooked exactly as ordered, hashbrowns were very good, even tried sausage gravy for first time and loved it! Service was excellent and then came the check...it was the most reasonable of any Ive seen in ages!If you never been, go. You wont be disappointed.

2022-05-05Very old-fashioned, simple diner. Very busy. Waitress was very nice. Food was just ok. Not the type of place for a salad. Stick to eggs and toast here.
