Antonio gives a great haircut and the shape and style lasts for months! My hair is thick and wavy and he knows how to tame it for all seasons.
Antonio was excellent - as always. I especially appreciated that he accommodated my request to be out within an hour of my appointment time.

Antonio is one of the *the* top stylists in New York, equally at home with womens and mens hair. While not inexpensive, if your budget can stretch for it, a haircut/styling with Antonio Prieto is definitely worth it.

Went for my first post vaccination haircut there in February and just had my follow up trim today. Antonio is FANTASTIC. I wanted a big change after the last horrible year and wanted to go from super long straight hair to short. This is the best haircut of my life. I have gotten so many compliments on it, it takes literally 2 minutes to style since Antonio knew I didnt have the time or patience to do more and looks amazing and modern. Antonio even thought of saving my hair to donate to locks of love. Everyone is vaccinated at the salon and wears masks. I felt very safe and comfortable and again the haircut is amazing!

First salon appoointment since the re-opening. Antonio and staff have done an amazing job making the salon safe and super clean for customers and staff. The set up is remarkable with measures in place to ensure social distancing, mask wearing and protections with air filters and splash guards during hair washing. Very impressive. And of course the services are still top notch and Lawrence turned all my gray hairs back to blonde--he is a color genius. Highly recommend and everyone should feel safe going!
I had my hair cut by Phil & Antonio Prieto. It really needed styled since it had not been cut for over 6 months. They did a wonderful job (Parisian type bob) and made sure the cut worked & blended with my naturally wavy hair. I highly recommend the Antonio Prieto Salon.
They are professional yet very friendly. The salon is beautiful and comfortable, and Melissa gave me a fantastic hair cut. I have curly hair that can be difficult to cut but Melissa understood my curls and knew exactly how to cut and dry it. She took her time and focused, and she listened to my preferences while also making astute suggestions. I was extremely satisfied with the whole process.

One of the excellent salons in NYC. Antonio has owned his eponymous salon for 24 years. His styles and those of his stylists and colorists have been visible in each predominant fashion magazine, on tv and movie stars and on runaways in Europe, London and NYC. The salon is comfy, current and rustic, the colorists and stylists are all warm and pleasant and amazingly proficient and the vibe is upscale, and fun, but in no way snooty. you will love every minute of some time there and leave searching like a 🌟
Laura Jane Dyer is amazing! I’ve had countless perfect cuts from her. My hair is fine and her skillful, chic cuts always make me look and feel my best. She also is such a fun and authentic person and has the best laugh. What more could you ask for?

Everyone from the shampoo folks to the stylists and front desk staff are warm, friendly and engaging and incredibly artistic. Im beyond thrilled with my experience yesterday at Antonio Prieto. Finally a haircut that is truly flattering and easy to style. At age 57 I have at long last found the right people and my best possible haircut. I will from now on and forever seek out Sheneya for cut and Leticia for color at Antonio Prieto. I had done some questionable color experiments during the lock down and Leticia magically and patiently corrected my 3 mismatched colors into a beautiful head of hair. They are extremely careful about safety, and have left no stone unturned to ensure a clean environment. I really love this place! Hurray for Antonio Prieto! Try them-youll be glad you did.They deserve all the support in the world.
I first discovered Antonio Prieto Salon through Gilt City and used my voucher to get a haircut with Melissa. Melissa cuts curly hair very well. I was very impressed with how she cut my hair. She thoroughly explained how to style it. Allison has been doing my highlights. She was in the apprentice program, but was very adept at giving me natural looking highlights. Overall, I am very pleased at my experience at this salon.
I had a great and safe experience at Antonio Prietos salon recently for both hair color and hair cut. They have instituted several protocols (such as, COVID testing of their staff every 2 weeks to safe distancing and screens) to ensure the safety of their staff and clientele, which is much appreciated! Would highly recommend this salon to anyone worried about possible exposure while getting their hair cut/colored.
Laura Dyer is AMAZING! I’m usually shy about getting my hair done, but feel completely at ease with her. Her work is impeccable, of course, but she is also warm, thoughtful, an amazing listener, so funny and cool, and reads people extraordinarily well. I *always* feel better inside and out after seeing her. I trust her entirely, and can’t say enough good things about her — just go, meet her, and see for yourself.

Antonio is the best!! When you go to see him and tell him what you want that is what you get. You can show him a picture and he will make it happen. He shows you tools to work with your hair and takes timesharing products and techniques with you. He is fabulous. I just got my hair cut there on Saturday and like usual lI LOVE it. It grows out so good and lasts far longer that any hairdresser I have ever gone too. i live in California and I get to NY as much as I can to see Antonio. Invest in Antonio...he is worth it!!!!

I have now been a client here almost four years I see Kenji.my hair always looks amazing after his cut and I joke that he is magic. This used to be a great salon, and still can be, but staff needs to lighten up and start caring about their work, beginning with Antonio (the owner). My haircuts used to be perfect, not they pretty much scream a choppy I dont give damn about the quality of my work. The interns are extremely sloppy and a hair wash means a flood down your back and ears clogged with foam and water. The receptionist tops it all with acting like hes there against his will, and every customer is disrupting him from checking his phone. The place is also not a poster child for cleanliness as it used to be. I feel sad that this place that I relied on for a good haircut for years has started going down the drain, but you know what, this is NYC and one can always take his/her business to a new place that cares about customers and the quality of work.
Where do I begin?!? I am almost afraid to share Reni with the world but she is that amazing!! I have been having her take care of my hair for the last two years and she is impeccable! A great stylist, an amazing, friendly person and a perfectionist! Run don’t walk if you want the perfect, precise blonde color - blonde so good Jennifer Aniston would be envious! My only complaint is that they don’t offer champagne as a drink and the WiFi can be spotty...not her fault but the salon’s

I did my 2nd haircut (layers) here with Michael and i am really happy with the result, it is exactly what i asked for and it took only 1 hr 15 min, even less. The salon is very clean and upscale, the people are polite and nice. And Michael is very pleasant, professional and has a good eye on what shape your face needs around

I have to be honest here. First time I came I had an amazing experience and was really happy with the result. I came back as you do after having a good experience and was quite shocked at the difference - firstly the young receptionist was awful to me. The curly hair “specialist” butched my hair- one side was longer than the other and the back was longer than the front - please keep in mind I have a Curly Bob haircut :/ And the color I had was really poorly applied, the recognition didn’t cover any of my greys and that was the whole point!! It took me another two visits at another salon to fix what they did!! This cost me in total $550/$600 which is just ludicrous especially considering what I had done to my hair. I was shocked bc I had had such a different experience the previous time. I won’t be going back.

I have been getting my hair cut by Brian for 6 years. I live in Central PA and travel to NY a couple times a year. Brian is the only one that I let cut my hair. The salon is clean and everyone there is wonderful. The staff is knowledgable and helpful.

I haven’t stepped foot in a salon in over 4 yrs and because I have very thick curly frizzy hair I was nervous but when I saw Linda and her beautiful curly hair I felt more at ease. Linda is knowledgeable gave me tips on how to care for my hair and I walked out of there with a haircut that I’m totally in love with.
Linda brought my curls back to life! I needed a cut, but wanted to maintain the length. Linda gave me long layers and taught me some great styling tips.

2022-08-06I have been a client at Antonios salon for the past 15 years. Cant say enough about their consistent professionalism, high level of talent and customer service. I usually see either Kenji or Antonio for my haircuts. Both stylists are extremely talented with their own unique style, and highly professional and experienced. I have experimented with a range of styles over the years from ultra short pixies to very long layered looks, and have always left the salon with a beautiful cut and positive experience. I happened to see Antonio most recently. The cut he gave me looks and feels amazing, and works so well with my natural hair texture. I honestly wake up in the morning and my hair looks great and ready to go with little or no styling needed. The salon itself is high end, modern, and clean with a relaxed and down to earth atmosphere. Throughout the pandemic, the salon continues to take extra steps to ensure the health and safety of clients including the placement of high quality air filters throughout the salon and employee masking. I highly recommend this salon because they are simply the best.

2022-06-29Ive been seeing Antonio for over twenty years! No one -- and I mean NO ONE -- can cut my hair like Antonio. Hes consistently careful, keeps to his schedule, and is (occasionally) very funny.Lawrence, my colorist, is a later love. He is very kind, very thoughtful, and VERY good. My hair always loooks gorgeous.Thanks also to Philip and Cristo who have looked after me as Antonio and Lawrence work magic.

2022-06-06I had highlights touched up, a bang trim, and haircut. Everyone was very kind. The atmosphere was great and the color stylist Cristo and hair stylist Ruth did an amazing job. Will definitely be returning to the salon whenever I need another touch up.

2022-07-22Exceptionally skilled and professional! The need to fix a botched single process (done by a very poorly supervised Aveda student — make sure to avoid the Aveda Institute on Spring St. at all costs!) was what brought me there in the first place, and they did a phenomenal job of making my hair all one beautiful color — both fixing what would have been a dark brown band as it grew out, and covering my gray roots. For cost concerns, I had chosen to go to one of their most junior colorists, and (again, so unlike the Aveda Institute), she was both knowledgeable AND closely supervised every step of the way. Can’t recommend Antonio Prieto salon highly enough.

2022-07-05Ive been coming here for over a decade. I now live in California but still make the trek back to New York to get my hair cut by Brian. Its also a beautiful, yet unpretentious salon with friendly, knowledgeable staff.

2022-06-05Always fabulous when Kenji comes in from Japan as Ive followed him for 26 years! He works magic, because his cuts can look styled even after a year without seeing him; thats a gift AND talent! Cannot recommend enough if you can snag his appointments.
