Professional and friendly staff. This Apple store location was transformed from an older bank. It has two floors. You can goto the basement to see the vault. But before going to this location, please dont forget to wear a mask since it is required. Also, they do temperature check before they let you inside the store.
Apply for your world, dont believe in a brand that offers you an app to offer your money to Ucrania whereas they dont give a thing being the richest! The war is not in the metavers. In these days...excepting the two photos of persons of their website and the ad of the iMac, (I do not mean the iMac because it´s like a flat smoothie...not soft, not cool) their design is a mess.On the other hand, we see they have been doing the best of them because they earned 94.600 $ in 2021.How is it possible that We didnt hear nothing about its generosity.I wonder they are in the metavers! Dont you?
The worst Apple Genius service ever I experienced! I want to rate 0. The manager, Mia, is typical Upper East snobby person, and she tells you to return home unless you pay hundreds of dollars. Absolutely 0 help or sympathy in getting the data out of my phone with the broken screen. She could have spoken better if she is ever trained as customer service manager. It’s unfortunate Apple brand and the service level are different per store, and this store definitely has Upper East snobby attitude.
Smart and seamless experience. The line associated book me an appointment for a future visit. 40 minutes later I was in the store. Choose my new iPhone SE 2020. All Apple workers were formal and politete. I am impressed positively by the Covid protocols that were executed. Perfect 👌 organization. A unique experience in a beautiful interior.
This place doesn’t know what it is doing. They don’t manage the flow and needs well. They have a bunch of people greeting and directing, but not enough people doing the things people need. In addition, we can’t return an item that is part of a larger order until all the items have arrived- even if those aren’t till Months in the future. This isn’t this location’s fault per se, but in the app it says you can return at the store. This is so surprising as no other company functions this way, and at least have the right info on the app. Total waste of time. Get it together, Apple.
Terrible customer service at Genius Bar!I had two appointments ten minutes apart for two different devices. Its because I didnt wanna pay and replace the phone Technicians took it personal and kept me waited for my second appointment for the second device. I had to wait over an hour before someone takes care of me.
Like some others who wrote reviews, I cannot get anyone to help me with a situation. No calls, no return emails, the 800-apple # didn’t tell me for weeks, maybe months, that I had to go directly to the store to present the situation. I have all Apple products and did not want to come to writing a bad review, I certainly tried long enough not to. The situation: In mid August I had an appointment at the Upper East Side store in Manhattan and I bought a new iPhone12 and an Apple Watch. I don’t change frequently, my last phone was an 8. I find out less that a week later that the iphone13 is coming out Sept. 1st. I am furious that the sales staff let me buy the “old” model at full price without mentioning the Iphone13 and giving me a choice. I am going to keep pursuing this as it is completely unprofessional and everyone needs to know.
The store is beautiful. The service is below typical Apple standards. Got half my order, no delivery, no answered emails, no answered phone calls. Sure did charge me though. They simply have to have a way for customers to contact the store directly without going through general customer service.
Shin Shin was one of the best employees I’ve ever interacted with at any company. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, understanding and wanted to do everything he could to get my phone fixed. I’m really astounded by his professionalism and support. Would recommend the UES Apple store to anyone after my experience — was in and out in less than an hour with a completely new phone for $29.
The appointment was For 1.30 pm. I arrived just a few minutes before that.Had to wait more than 20 minutes to finally see a very competent “genius”I am pretty old and handicapped so I asked for a chair or a stool. None available for the longest time ! I literally nearly fainted. The genius who finally got to me was most helpful. The store is impeccably clean.Surfaces are constantly disinfected by an army of staffers, but I think that more consideration should be given to older/ handicapped visitors to the store.
This was my first time visiting this Apple Store. I must say that they were extremely organized and they did follow all the distancing protocols and everyone wore mask which I appreciated alot. I made my purchase over the phone with ease and then I got an appointment to pick up at the store. They were very efficient and there was no long wait or even long lines. And I was also able to make an in store purchase which was great. I think it would make it easier if you know what you want before going to the store. All the associates was very helpful.
Great experience at this location!! Amber was kind, helpful, and genuine (Apple, take note of her). She recognized me on my return visit (with a mask on) and waved and smiled as she re-entered the store. The Apple staff outside is pretty attentive (more so than others) and pleasant to deal with. Security is making their presence known and taking temperature readings of all customers who enter. They also have a cleaning staff wiping/disinfecting surfaces ensuring a clean and safe environment. I’m glad my phone was repaired with no delays. I just wish this store was closer to home.
I had a great experience with this store particularly with setting up a last minute appointment last hour last Friday afternoon at the Genius Bar. Upon arrival, I stood in line when an employee approached me with an device confirming my name and time of my appointment. I was redirected to wait on the line for the Genius Bar, which wasnt long. No later than 5 minutes, Brent was the one to help me with my problem. He was actively listening and engaging with me throughout the diagnosis of my MacBook Pro. He was great at explaining me what was the real cause of my issue with my device not being able to charge. Unfortunately, when I got home I realized my computer was still not able to update to the new OS as I explained to him but nevertheless he was able to provide me several options on solving my initial problem.Expect to be stopped beforehand to get your temperature checked, and as stated waiting in one or two lines. I set up my appointment at 3:30 pm EST but was not seen until 3:40pm which again wasnt long. Place had several sanitation stations, including sanitizer and sanitizing wipes.
A terrifying journey into the dark heart of retail dystopia. Operating tables of commerce upon which sit the tools of our enslavement. Distracted, sullen operatives wandering around a purgatory of purchasing. Where... Who... What... that grim youth fiddling with a laptop? Be right with you.... Do I ask for what I want, do I grab it from one of the little rows of accessories? Where am I?Would I be better treated by the guy selling $5 pashmina scarves in front of the Met? Certainly. Do I need forced joviality? No. Tim Cook smiles. Its all so neat and tidy, low-overhead and inhuman. How lovely. How perfectly wonderful it all seems.
After 15 years of an amazing experience with Apple, 2 weeks ago my phone did automatic update after which my phone got a bug from an update and stopped Bluetooth function. I went to fix it in two different Apple stores( 5 Ave and Madison Ave) in hope one will fix problem caused by Apple itself, the only solution they offered me is to by new phone or new AirPods which are fully functional with 3 other iPhones in my house. They waisted over 3 hours of my time for them to not come with reasonable solution, yet the only one was to buy new phone or new AirPods ( my current ones are only 1 year old). I’m devastated, I’m hurt by such huge discrepancies between the prices of the products and costumer service.
Just got back to the office from this Apple location upgrading my phone during my lunch break (yes it was that fast and easy) make an appointment! I had the pleasure of being helped by the BEST associate: TIFFANY S. Tiffany was helpful, extremely knowledgeable and most importantly K I N D. I really appreciate her excellence in customer service and will definitely be returning to this location for anything else I need :) Highly recommend.
Terrible service. I walked in and told them I was there to exchange something I purchased online. Before even checking the lady tells me that this item isn’t in stock. I explained that I called Apple and they assured me it was in stock at that particular location. So the lady checked, and saw it was in stock. Instead of immediately checking to see if they had it she was willing to just turn me away. So after that, she set me up with another member of her team and he asked me for the receipt before the transaction. I told him I don’t have it with me, but Apple said as soon as you scan the item the receipt will show up. He then told me he can’t do the exchange without the receipt. I asked him to at least scan it. He then scanned it and saw the receipt. This location is all about turning the customer away, and wasting the time of their customers. They rather tell you no, without being certain than tell you “let me check on that for you” ultimately that’s why I’m giving this Apple store 1 star. If I could do 0 stars I would.
They offered good service. I went there to service my Mac book pro. The experienced technician resolved the issue. The ground staff took my details and asked to wait for the technician.I had to wait for few minutes to get the allotted technician to check my Mac. I went there after booking appointment online. All the staffs were cordial. The architecture of the building is beautiful. Its in European style.
I was really excited and got a new M1 chip Mac Book air which had issues and stopped working abruptly. It hung a lot of times and I had to return the defective one to get a new one. They confirmed that the laptop I had - had issues and told that they would replace.I have been asked to wait for almost 3 hours to pick up the replacement laptop. The staff werent even concerned about the long wait and acted in a reckless attitude.
Trying to convince my girlfriend to buy an apple watch. After apple soho employee tried to persuade us otherwise saying it was no use, UES Apple didnt even let us try the watch in an empty store trying to give an appointment for 2 hours later. Apple really did some cost cutting on the retail store employees I guess with the pandemic. Never have I ever had this reluctant service, going in with a positive buying attitude and leaving frustrated because the employee didnt feel like working.
10 stars. Short lines. Polite and efficient staff. I went to Roosevelt field apple store. They told me it would take up to a month to fix my macbook. Roosevelt didnt have the part and no ETA on the parts delivery.I asked them to call around as i NEEDED my computer. I was willing to drive to jersey if I had to. Well Upper east side store had the part and told me approximately 7 days to fix and return it.One extra star for the bathroom attendant who seemed to clean after each use.Another star for how beautiful the building is.The parking gods were also smiling on me as I found a FREE Parking spot between madison and 5th avenue.
Meh.I think apple is a well run company but some policy stuff doesnt make too much sense. its a minor gripe and probably has no real bearing on this specific location but still.anyway, i ordered online the iPhone 12, it came, i wasnt 100% sold and wanted the 12Pro. I called apple support and they sent me to the store, after a 20 minute walk and waiting on line for another 30 minutes i was told that I didnt have an appointment and i cant do this at the store anyway.🤷♂️it just irks me to be given the run around. So called back to support and now I have to wait 3 weeks until I can get the 12 Pro.*sigh*
I rarely rate anything, but my phone is important to me and I use it for work everyday being a first responder. Beside the fact that my screen cracked randomly, which I didn’t drop my phone I guess the quality of Apple has changed. I scheduled an appointment at the above location granted the whole COVID-Pandemic delaying the process of most things. However, I was turned away for being 45minutes early to my scheduled appointment. I politely asked if I can leave my phone for repairs and return when it’s ready. Their response was NO because “they didn’t have any one available to repair my phone for the time”. Which makes no sense.
So I go in there, dude is like I am not sure but I will ask, they solved my issue then my problem I was like yeah thanks Marcus for that wonderful customer service. Now if I got the name incorrect then shame on me but hey their entire staff was lit and interactive, I totally put effort to mingle a bit.
This store allowed someone to purchase a fraudulent phone under my name and basically didn’t have much to say about it. Apple employee stated that I go online to and see their verification upon purchase descriptor. And no one wants to give the store manager name so you are forced to speak to a lead.
Really great store. Nice location in a beautiful building. Helpful, knowledgeable & friendly staff. Obviously they have all the Apple products you could ever want and many other accessories. I went in to get my new MacBook fixed (dead SSD after 6 months, great job Apple) and the guy who helped me got me taken care of within minutes. Answered all my questions and was very professional. Perfect way to take my mind off a $500 drive breaking on a brand new $2200 laptop.
It was nice when apple sold actually functioning products. these days MacBooks are just not good. Feels cheaply built, connectivity issues can be frequent, and the App Store rules are archaic. Just something better would be nice.Staff is nice however so +1 star for that
I was in that store on Jan 21 2021. It was disaster!I had simple request: to put iOS 14.3 on my Apple 8. One of the Apple genius - Jian - explained that because my phone had old iOS 11 he must erase all my info and put it back. I asked if he is sure that all my info will be back included my photos and videos and he said definitely, Ill back up the info in your iCloud. And he did it. What was mine and his surprise when after he did everything my photos and videos form 7 years we erased for good. He backup the phone but not the photos. His coworker show him that during his manual backup he left the backup photos off .Apple try everything but my photos were lost for good because of their genius employee ian. The worse part is that Jian told me that someone will call me and help me with the problem and disappears without even saying sorry. I couldnt write a complain, that was I told from the Apple Headquarter/Costumer service . I had two appointments for certain day and hour to speak about what happen and guess if someone call me.I paid every mount extra for Apple iCloud but they did not backup my photos and they hire people like Jian who even do not know how to backup an iPhone.
I purchased an imac for photo editing in march of last year and it NEVER performed.every time i switch a tab on safari, or change a program the pinwheel comes up. i swapped it twice. i made at least 6 calls to customer service and spent COUNTLESS hours to try to make this $2000 piece of equipment be operational. It is STILL essentially useless.when it came time to speak to someone to deal with a refund after the 30th day, apple reps were notoriously missing.id like a refund.
Quite busy, but efficient. I had submitted my Beats here for repair. They took them in and said they are under warranty and Apple will take care of the repair. I was happy to hear that, only to learn a week later that they re-checked the serial # and the warranty was no longer valid. I was sure it wasnt correct and provided the proof of purchase, which proved otherwise. The product was then accepted to be repaired and I received it in less than a week.
I was very disappointed that my perfect condition iPhone that’s only a year and a half old required a $300 repair in order to fix an issue that appears to be a manufacturing defect. My screen stopped working in certain places without any physical damage and the team shrugged their shoulders and told me I had to pay $300 which is about three times the price that anybody else would charge to repair it. Very disappointing experience both with the people at the store and with the product that Apple sells for such a premium. I’ve been a customer for a long time and I would reconsider for my next phone.
Al the manager at this store is a nasty man. Very surprised he got promoted to manager at such a prestigious company. I purchased an item in Madrid two days before President Trump ordered that all American abroad students return home immediately. Once I felt safe, I brought the charger I had bought (unopened with receipt) to this store. Because it was an international issue Al the manager serviced me. He told me I should have returned the product in Madrid before I left and there is nothing he or the Apple store can do. He said literally but in a condescending sarcastic tone the only way I can return the product is to fly back to Spain. What a joke of a manager, and more importantly, I’m disappointed in Apples customer service.
Had the most upsetting experiences I have ever had with mgmt in regards to handling a phone issue with technicians on the phone. I was made to feel like I didn’t belong. Not cool and when I ask for info on technician I was told by mgmt that his name was not info she could provide me, even though she introduced herself by her name.
Ive never wrote a review before but tbh they do not train their workers there AT ALL and it SHOWS. Ive never been so frustrated and stressed out before from Apple. The reviews are right, multiple times I had to come back to fix an error THEY made.. They keep putting an old sim card to a new phone and I constantly have to go back so they can Put a new card in. Why is it so difficult for them to do their job? I dont know but Im never going back here.
Oh you know, you have to make an appointment for the genius bar for help and repairs. And you still have to wait, though not for 2 hours which is the wait if you do t have an appointment. But the staff is friendly and helpful and if you have a Mac, it IS the place to go. I deducted one star for the waiting times and one star for the high prices of the products and the repairs. Otherwise, they really know their products and generally really know how to help you, or for software issues, refer you to apple support by phone.
Wish I could give less than one star. First of all, it was too crowded, people were stepping out of the store just to breathe, and you could barely walk around the store. Additionally, their queue was extremely messed up- and people were screaming across the store. I went there to purchase a new XR and they seemingly set it up correctly- until they told me that I should pair my Apple Watch with my new phone at home. The directions they told me were to ERASE EVERYTHING on my watch and then go into the watch app on my new XR and press pair existing watch. Obviously, this did not work. I have called Apple several times now, and when we thought that we finally got the two paired, I had to reset all of my information that I had already customized to my liking. Now, everything that I enter on my watch app on my phone is not going through to my watch, meaning that my watch is not functioning and there is noting that I can do about it. Both I and the customer service employees are at a loss. Not to mention that the call always fails/ends. Our patience is running low, and we are in tears of frustration. When you pay someone to do their job, you expect them to do their job.
This store is beautiful. My review isn’t so much about the store itself more about Apple. I had an issue with my phone where it constantly said “no service”. I made an appointment but still had to wait 20 minutes before being called. Once i was called she told me i had to wait for a technician, so i waited some more. The technician said It was a free fix, but since i had a tiny crack in my screen it would cost $160 to fix. It made no sense to me since it’s apple’s screw up that my phone doesn’t work. she also said that they wouldn’t even need to take the screen off to fix it but that they just won’t fix it unless the screen is not crack. She ended up just telling me it wasn’t worth it since i have an upgrade in less than 2 months i may as well just use a crappy phone or upgrade early. What a waste of time.
Absolutely disgusting! They asked a 92 year old man with medical condition to wait in line with others in 90 degree heat in the sun! When I asked if they could make an exception or at least let him wait inside the store with AC, the refused and were very rude. No one cares and elderly people are treated without any respect and compassion! He was going to buy a new phone which would take probably less than 5 minutes... Shame on you!
So .... I bring my iPhone in for repair due to known manufacturer fault that rendered my phone useless. I was informed that the phone may be repaired or replaced. But I have to wait 3 to 5 days. But an expedite was requested for a 3 day turn around. Then I’m provided with a loner phone that is a downgrade and less memory. So now I’m on business day 5 and 2 weekend days. Status is it’s still being repaired. This is a big disappointment huge inconvenience and has impacted my ability to work for a week.Very unhappy with Apple’s policy. I spent a lot of money on a product that was defective and the service is horrible.I want to add the advisor that assisted me was 5 stars. It’s the policy that is ridiculous.
Over the past six months Ive had a much better experience in this Apple Store. The employees greet you when you enter. Youre not overly pestered with hard sell tactics. The place is super clean especially the ladies room. Pretty soon the attendant will know me by name.Ive asked a lot of questions recently. Im getting answers that are more informative than in the past. Im still disappointed when Im asked to bring my equipment in since its a hassle. My MacBook isnt something I like to lug around.
Hi, so I ordered a phone during quarantine and they said they would deliver it to my house on MONDAY. A little later before Monday, I get an email saying there has been a change in your shipment. The phone was now coming on Wednesday. On Wednesday as I am very excited to retrieve my new phone, which I had waiting for so so long for, I get another email saying my order is now coming Friday. This is ridiculous! I have been waiting for this new phone for god knows how long. I usually never write reviews, let alone bad ones, but this was just unacceptable. If this phone does not come by Friday I will have no hope that this phone will even come at all!
I went to Apple store to pickup an online purchase. I understand COVID changed a lot of things, but Apple staff were extremely disorganized and confused. This is not the first week of opening the store under COVID regulations so expecting an organize service doesnt seem unreasonable.
Extremely disappointed by the technician there, i was attended by EDWARD, who literally didnt even listen or look at my phone and told me to just go and buy a new one, i have a very good conditions iphone and from one day to another the speaker stop functioning. I was astonished by the lack of customer care and service provided by edward, and ask him why he wont even check my phone and his answer was: this happen in the past, i m the best technician in here, just buy a new phone. This is a very poor quality service, not up to apple standards, and this kind of behavior diminish drastically Apple’s image and quality
If I could, I would give 0. Probably the worse experience EVER. Had appointment at 5, was late due to traffic for 15 minutes and they told me they can put me in again and to wait another 45, which I did. Hour has passed and nothing happened. Try to talk to one tech who told me it’a another 15 so after 1 hour and 30 min I approached the tech and was told that someone is coming now. That “now” was another 20minutes. So almost 2 hours later someone finally started calling my name. I thought it was very unprofessional and rude to give customers wrong info over and over again. Will NEVER again visit that store. The guy who was taking in customers wasn’t nice either. I am not used to get a service from Apple as such but I guess their customer service is starting to fail....
My iPhone was under warranty when it would not power up. There was no appointments on line so I brought it to the store. I had to wait 2 hours for tech support. After I was checked in I had to wait more than 30 minutes for a technician to be available. Then the same person that checked me in and was standing and doing absolutely nothing while I was waiting turned out to be the technician. After 2 and half hours of waiting, the technician wastes another 20 minutes trying to charge my phone and flirting with another customer. After three hours, the technician inspects the phone to confirm that there was no physical damage. Then he tells me that he will ship my phone to the repair facility and I will get a replacement phone in 7 days. No one at the store can explain why I have to wait seven days for a new phone. Having spent a week without a phone, I called the store only to find out that they would like to charge me $299 for the replacement phone. I still don have a phone.
I ordered headphones online, and I got a text and an email saying my order was ready to pick up. When I got to the store the host said there was a 25 minute wait to pick up the order. I told him that I had an email saying the order was ready, but he maintained that it was a 25 min wait and put me in a queue. No apologies or anything. This seemed odd because there were a bunch of employees just standing around, it was not like pickup people were lining out the door or anything. After 15 minutes, some guy came and asked me (and three other people with me) if we were here for personal pickup. When we said yes, he got us scanned and had our items brought out in 2 minutes. He knew what he was doing.I dont know if the original host didnt know better, but the whole point of a pickup is that you dont have to wait for geniuses to be available. In any case, it was a totally un-Apple experience.
Nice place! Great building. Go down to the basemen to look at the old bank vault door if your interested. The service was nice, much like my other Apple Store experiences. They were helpful and despite the common reputation, not at all pretentious or snotty about their fancy technology
Unbelievable how I was treated inside this store! Me and my two year old daughter have no right to get out of line to walk inside the store while I wait to change my phone. I ask for the store manager, and the person who says the manager says he can do nothing, I ask if this is how they treat their customers with children and they say we can do nothing!I wont be back in this store ever again. I dont even know if I want Iphone anymore. I have no words to describe how bad I feel for the rude way I was treated with my two year old daughter with me!
I dropped my phone off about 10 days ago to have it repaired for a known issue with the phone only to have it picked up, still broken, with the manager telling me that it is water damaged and for that I would have to pay them. They told me they would communicate with me via text message / emails for updates and I received non of the following. Galavan, one of the stores managers, was extremely rude and condescending and had his employee tell me that Im 17 and Im unauthorized/ unable to pay for my phone to be repaired when that is not true.Worst store ever. Worst employees. Never go here ...
I will not bore you with the long story of problems I have had with my amazing iPhone X. I have been to 6 different Apple stores and 3 ATT stores. Today I went in to this location on the UES and found a solution. Most importantly the employee seemed genuinely concerned about my problem. He took the time to hear my entire story, he seemed to truly care. It’s a small thing but I left the store feeling good about my phone and about Apple. Keep up the good work and thinks for treating me and the other customers with respect.
I thought it was just me. Im happy I saw a similar review talking about how unprofessional and rude the staff is here. Ive come to this store for a variety of reasons about 5 times over the last year. The staff acts like youre wasting their time. I feel crappy every time I leave. This is not a criticism of Apple stores in general. The staff in Grand Central is great. The staff in Soho is great. I used to frequent the store in Palo Alto and they were kind and patient. I wont be returning to this one unless I absolutely have to. Im not someone who writes negative reviews either. I just had to after feeling this way so many times leaving the store.
DO NOT come to this store without a reservation. Showed up 1.5 hours before close, waited in line for 30 minutes, and only then was approached and told I wouldn’t get in the store before closing. Get clearer signage or have someone outside attending to your line at all times.
Great experience here today after I accidentally dropped my phone last night and smashed the whole screen....half the screen was black, other half was covered in multicolored lines, whole thing had cracks and was popping off. I didn’t make an appointment and just walked in today (a Saturday afternoon) and it was pretty busy. They booked me for an appointment with a 15 minute wait, and it didn’t seem that long while I looked at the new products (a pretty clever sales plan lol). Once it was time I spoke to a specialist who asked me how it happened and all that—they charged me $160 to replace the whole display. Told me to come back in 90 minutes, and as it’s a cool area, I got to wander around for a bit before coming back and receiving my phone back good as new!Great service, pleasant atmosphere, and really helpful folks.Only complaint would be that the setup of the Genius Bar means you have to walk up to a random specialist as there is no line or front desk—so it’s a little awkward. But the specialists are friendly and will often ask you if you need help before you ask.
I walked in the store and signed in at 2:34 pm.I was told that the wait would be about an hour-I agreed to wait. Well at 3:34 I asked how long do I have until I’m seen by a “Genius “? I was told that there are 4 -MacBook problems ahead of me. I then asked again at 3:55- I was told by a different employee my time would be at 4:05.At 4:05 I spoke with Willis who informed me that I had to wait because they’re trying to get the “right “person to assist me! Then at 4:15 another employee asked me to move and sit in the center where the technician could help me.Reed, the technician came over to me at 4:20 pm!!Although Reed was awesome-and attentive to my issues-I’m disgusted by the wait time in this Apple store. My problem wasn’t fixed because the item I needed wasn’t in the store. So , I have to go to another store. I will never visit this location again. I also NEVER got a text stating that my “space” in line is coming up. SMDH
My phone wouldnt turn on. After running tests, the technical stuff told me that its permanently dead and will never turn on/work. For unknown reason. They offered me to buy a new phone. After I went to a local phone repair, uptown. Turned out it was just a dead battery, that cost me $40 to replace.I guess they tried to scam me into buying a new phone. Or it was a honest mistake, witch is even worst. A trained/professional apple tech person cant tell the difference from a dead battery or a fried phone.
Going to an Apple store in NYC is like going to a Packers game in Wisconsin. Full of fans and people who just want to be in the know and fawn over the Apple products.I have been in other Apple stores in other cities, but in NYC, the Apple store is almost and experience in itself. Dont go and expect quick service. Take a number and wait. That being said, the Apple staff is great. Helpful and it explains why Apple has such a following. They know their product and help direct towards the best product for the purpose. If options are open, go to an Apple store outside of NYC.The price for the Mac Pro that was purchased was better than Best Buy and was a year end product that was out of stock an all the big box stores. So, people who bemoan that prices are better if you dont go to the Apple store may not be correct. And for a real Apple experience, go to the Apple store at Grand Central.....
Cozy Apple Store with fast and friendly team willing to help you with your purchase. The coolest thing is the bank vault in the basement. Went on a Saturday afternoon and it was quite busy, but I think that’s just all Apple Stores. People love to play with the gadgets.
Its worst than the DMV here. Go to any other place!! This is the 10th time Ive been here because I own a tech company and certain repairs have to be sent in as well as warantee work and 10 for 10 times Ive had to wait 20 or more min and ask 3 to 5 people per visit why its taking so long before getting anyone to assist. I just counted 5 employees chatting with eachother or just swiping around their ipads. Today a worker said oh Ill go check on it personally just wait over there. I watched as he proceed to help the girl standing in front of him and never checked at all!! Then I went back again to manager to check again and she said oh let me check and disappeared for the basement 10 minutes. As I seethed in aggravation i heard 2 people complaining that they couldnt wait any longer either. The initial woman never returned then as Carl, the 1st guy I spoke with, wrapped up with the woman he worked with as opposed to checking on my laptop as promised he strolled by he saw the unhappy look on my face and went down and finally got the laptop! Once he came back I tried to explain how much business I do with them and how I cannot continue to do so with this level of service and he said oh, ok, sorry we are a little light today when I told him this happened the last 10 times I was there he said oh ok not ok carl!! Then I asked who the general manager is for the store and he couldnt remember her nameIf you have about an hour of your life you want to waste everytime you go into an apple store then THE UES store is for you but if not then stay away! Ive had good experiences at 14th Street and UWS but not here!
Never ever go to this store!!!! They took my iPhone 11 and I never could get it back. So I brought it for repair. They did repair. Then I called them and said I cant pick it up soon. They said ok. But then I found out they recycled it. I called them again to find out what can be done. They said NOTHING can be done. So my phone is gone!!! 700$ just gone because apple basically took the phone away from me. And they said we will not send a new one. And they cant give any discounts for future or any gift cards. TERRIBLE!
This Apple store has a slightly different feel and design to the other stores in Manhattan, but it makes a nice addition to the portfolio. The service is typical Apple, attentive but not overly so and the staff have great product knowledge. There’s a more intimate feel to this store and the transformation of the older building to this Apple store works and adapts really well.
This place is amazing. I called 2 hours before, made an appointment and was walking out an hour later after getting there. My bro n law broke his iPod screen (someone accidentally sat on it) and rather than repair it, because they said they cant. They instead replaced it with a new one with same Gb for the repair price. Service techs were quick, professional and awesome . 5 stars for outstanding service well done 👏👏👏👏👏.. Also i did asked if this new iPod was refurbished and the tech told me no, but Apple do sell refurbished iPods online he said.
Came here bc I had an issue with my MacBook screen that I was hoping one of their geniuses could help with. Was literally flying out of town for work a few hours later and needed to have it fixed quickly. The guy who was “helping” people was incredibly rude and told me that without booking an appointment, there was no chance I could see anyone, even though there were plenty of geniuses just standing around doing nothing. The “helper” was probably the rudest person I have ever encountered in a customer service position. Definitely not the Apple Standard.
Dont let the exterior and interior fool you! Yes, it does look quite nice for an Apple Store. I was looking for a certain product and the website claim to have that product in this store. However, it appeared that this store didnt have it. The employee suggest me to go to another store nearby and guaranteed to have it. I went to that specific store and they didnt have it on shelf. I had to ask an employee in that store to get the product I wanted. I was slightly unhappy that the employee at the store sort of mislead me.
Apple employees are really quite pompous. And the wait times to get things looked at that are faulty is rediculously out of proportion to normal stores of any type. There are 10 people at any one time holding a tablet that shuffle you like cattle... Why dont they help instead of stand there? Customer service here is absolutely horrible!
I had the worst Apple experience of my life at this store! I made an appointment for the genius bar two days before for 6:30pm for a scren repair. So when I got there and checked in they asked my what was wrong with my phone and I said I needed a new screen so they had my sit at one of the tables and I ended up waiting for over an hour! Then when one of the geniuses finally came over he informs me that they dont take repairs after 6:30pm and that I cannot leave my phone there that I would have to come back the next day!!!! I was livid. In my opinion when I checked in at 6:30pm they should have informed me that they were no longer taking repairs. I will never go to this store again and I do not recommend it to anyone.
Rude and lacking knowledge staff. Horrible service experience. If you come in and are there for a repair, and not to buy something, the staff will not treat you like a customer. They will lie and make things up just so they dont have to fix the problem or make you go somewhere else to fix it. Avoid this specific Apple store at all costs.
Purchased a brand new I-Pad pro 12.9” the day after it came out late last year with a case and the pencil. I do not recall ever dropping it and about 2 months in hairline cracks started appearing. It was a very odd damage not like dropping an iPhone and breaking the screen at all- instead very small hairline cracks not even connected to the edges in one place almost not visible. I was honest and brought it up to apples attention when I noticed it 62 days after I bought it- of course I did not have apple care (thought I had but did not). They wanted $600 to repair something that I honestly believe was not from dropping it- online there are other reviews suggestion this is a systemic issue with the I-Pad Pro. The cracks started barely visible and have now popped up in other places even though I know for sure now that I didn’t drop it as I’ve been hypersensitive since the first crack appeared.I would think apple would actually be interested in investigating this as it was a brand new version and perhaps there’s a defect with this model; but they were only interested in trying to take advantage of me as a customer. After 10 years spending thousands at Apple I’m going to give Microsoft another shot. This is not how you treat customers- I can’t give another $ to them out of principle and I’d be weary of this company as their posture towards their customers has become very negative, arrogant, and ungrateful since I bought my first apple product. Very undesserving of my business- what a shame.
An exceptionally knowledgable tech woman helped me enormously on my last visit. The wait was made bearable by stopping during wait time ( about 45 minutes) across the street at the new Nespresso cafewhere a helpful maitre di lent me a phone since mine was inoperable. Their great espresso helped a lot!
Wait time is just impossible, an hour’s wait just to pick up a repair item. EDIT: i originally gave them two stars for over an hour of waiting time, but it turned out that 1. they pronounced my name weirdly and I kept missing their call, 2. they didnt tell me where I should wait clearly, so I was at the wrong table and didnt hear the call. So im changing the rate to four stars - other than they didnt give me a clear direction, they were professional and friendly.
I was misled by a very nice but poorly trained salesperson at the apple store. The customer service needs to improve and the managers need to be more available and respond when they are called. I wanted to purchase one I pad mini with cellular.I went to the store and was told that only the 4 mini was available and sold in Apple stores. I was very clear that I had seen the 2 on the apple web site and asked several timed if I could purchase that one. I was told emphatically that the only model sold at the store and available at the store was the more expensive, newer 4. So I bought the 4 but something was bothering me so I checked the Apple site when I got home. I saw that the 2 mini was available and could be picked up at the store on 74th and Madison. I called and after two representatives I found out I could in fact get the 2 at that store. I requested to speak with the manager, I was sent to voice mail. I called back and was advised that there are 8 managers and one would call me back very shortly. No call ever came. After not hearing anything that evening I called back the next day and spoke to a manager and they made things right. It took more work on my part then it should of but I persisted and they made a minor accommodation for the misrepresentation.
Took my iPhone 7 it heats up on me almost burned my ear and the microphone and ear piece stoped working. Since I have no insurance they tried to swap for the same phone for 300 dollars. Thanks for nothing they keep up dating there iOS causing glitches to the phones and the buyers have to suffer. I’m going to switch to a android good bye Apple
Terrible staff. One of them told me my airpods isnt from apple when they search up the Model number and serial number and its completely valid. I have been lied to and the person that helped me made many excuses to not help me. Additionally, she took my airpods and walked around the store and didnt even have a clue on what shes doing. I gave her my airpods with it being clean and when I received it back, it had some disgusting brown stuff on the case. After she came back, she told me ooh my firmware version doesnt match. What does that have to do with the product? I can have Ios 10 on a iphone and it still can be considered a apple product. Anyways, she ended up getting embarrassed when she found out she was wrong so she told another person to back her up. I even tried contacting others for help, they responded saying that they were only there to do Sales and cannot help. Ultimately, it ended up with her trying to help me again. She told me to give her my id, I showed her my ID, and instead she now says its invalid. I tried telling her, as a sixteen year old, I am a student in NYC and dont hold any state ID. They dont accept it and says I need to bring my passport or something.. WTF are they even talking about? Honestly, what do they even need from my ID? I ended up leaving this stupid store because I had enough of the BS theyve told me. Honestly wasted my time and this person that tried to help me really needs some help. Even though I do look like a kid, I know what Im talking about when im discussing the problem. They tried to out talk me and basically put me into 2 to one person situation since they clearly know they are wrong. Such a stupid store with stupid staffs just wandering there waiting to get paid. I hate dumb people like this working in tech stores like apple because they clearly dont even know what theyre doing.
Disgusting, Horrible, Frustrating and Infuriating. This store should be shut down and all employees should be fired for the way I was treated. They erased my iPhone entirely. They kept asking me to show them impossible documents to find and then rushed me away. I looked up on apple support my problem and the solution was they gave the person a new phone. I am still stuck with my unusable brick. Horrible store you might as well go to 59th street where the employees are actually nice and humane with there customers.
Beware HIDDEN $129 APPLE CARE charge with New iPhone Purchase built into financing. So I go in to get the 6S and experience very friendly sales person as usual in an Apple store. He informs me that if I purchase the phone through their store and NOT AT&T, I get 2 years of covered warranty and its the same price as buying through AT&T. Plus the phone is unlocked for international travel, and you dont have to renew a 2 year contract. Its all financed through First Citezens bank for easy $36 charges per month on a $749 phone. All sounded great until I get my email from First Citizens confirming financing loan for $955. Turns out the smooth apple salesman didnt tell me the included 2 year warranty for buying at THEIR store is $129.00.Very off putting experience with a brand as exceptional as Apple. This is more of a customer service notice because itll probably happen to you too, since youre not paying on the spot for all charges, you dont see full receipt unless you check email later in day. Now Im sitting on hold waiting for Apple Support and wasting time I couldve had. Thanks Apple Salesman for full disclosure.
The people are nice enough at this one, but it is slow. Took them 45 minutes to pull an online order for pickup. You are by far better off to just buy your stuff in-store rather than doing an in-store pickup. Also on my last visit, their entire system was down (including wifi) so the entire store ground to a halt. They took my repair order with a piece of paper and a pencil (not an Apple Pencil lol). It took nearly an hour.
Dont ever visit this location. It is absolutely the worst. I have visited this particular location four times and every time that I leave this store I am always in a horrible mood. ( I dont even have energy to recount the horrendous experiences). I dread this place. When individuals say that one day all sales reps/technicians will be replace by robots it brings some comfort to me that one day all the geniuses that work on Madison Ave will be replaced by said robots. Dont visit this store! :(
The staff in this store are arrogant and really smug. My primary reason for selling off all my Apple products other than my Mac and childs iPad is the in store experience is bad. Ive found in the various apple stores Ive been to in NYC the one on the upper west side has ONE person that doesnt make me feel like I dont belong in the store. Most of the people that work at Apple stores are straight out of a commercial. They dont seem genuine. Apple support via a phone call or messages are much better and in most cases resolved issues Ive had.
Im leaving this review for the manager Eddie and the gentleman that helped me today.I had a walk in appointment and the man that was originally helping me made a rude joke to me that I did not find funny. I let him know that and he got extremely defensive and even more rude. I ended our interaction by telling him that Im going to ask if his manager thinks hes as funny as he thinks he is. He didnt think it was funny and neither did the people around me that heard what he said to me.The manager then helped me figure out my situation and I walked out of Apple today with a new phone.
Great location with friendly and helpful staff. Ariel made my experience seamless and took care of all my phone issues and concerns. When I worried about the safety of my personal information the manager Peritza was very forefront and attentive. Do recommend this location!
Horrible experience. Asking for my ID multiple times when Im buying something. However the lady with an Amex and fur coat is automatically assumed to be who she says she is. I just want to thank the manager dave for helping me decide to switch to Android for all my products!
I drove from Virginia to New York to surprise my family, and I went online to order my grand daughter an iPod touch 7th generation 32 gigs in pink. Apple online assisted with purchase and even allowed me to pick the pick up location. Public transportation was running well that day so my ride from 149th street and third ave was about 15 minutes. I walked straight to the Apple store which was actually in grand central station. I spoke to a representative and within 5 minutes I had her iPod touch in my hands. I had previously ordered one online but with Target and they never delivered. Word of advise should you want an Apple product go straight to Apple. My grand daughter was excited with her gift.
I just had the absolute worst experience at this location. No one cared about my issues whatsoever. Was sent upstairs, downstairs, all over the place just to exchange a iphone charging cord. Worst customer experience I have ever had. I have been an Apple customer since day one. I actually left and told them Im going to the Upper West Side (where I usually go) to get some good customer service. I was nice about it and they said, ok. Terrible, terrible customer service from everyone.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. WAITED 40min just to pick up package that I already paid for. A bunch of employees standing around. This experience I just went threw today. I will switch to google products. So many red shirts doing nothing. Steve Jobs should be highly disappointed about this location.
Nonsense.I recant that last response, there is a method to the madness. I originally gave 2 star but am upgrading to 4. Great service on second visit. Iinitially I didnt understand the genius bar. Bear in mind my first visit was only to replace/repair cracked screens on several ipads. It was inconceivable to have to wait and talk to a rep around a large table with 20 other people with various needs and concerns. The second visit I realize It is probably the most efficient way to deal with a continual stream of clients. In hindsight many good memories are formed in close quarters, around communal tables, and by keeping everyone close, collaborative efforts are utilized by reps and potentially clients to solve issues.Ok, it makes sense.
Well first off I must say that most Apple Stores are pretty poor for sales. I understand that the Item sells itself but I feel like these employees are poorly trained. I myself was one of the top third party sales representatives in the the east coast for Sprint and I just dont look at peoples appearance to judge them. Now I must say that I had apx $2000 cash on me and only one girl asked me if I need help. Even thou I told her at the moment Im looking the rest who didnt see or hear me didnt ask me one thing. By the way I was looking for her because I wanted to give her the sale but didnt see her.. Now back to my experience, so I had to use one of their computers to look up what I needed. Even when 2 employees saw me looking at this a clear sign that im interested, no one asked me a thing. i feel like to many of these employees judge me because i had my street gear. I will go to the next Apple store and do the same thing and see if anyone wants to sell me a phone.
I was sent to a female client that didnt even acknowledge me as a customer very unprofessional and rude from the start, I could tell she didnt wanted to deal with me at all, I went back and forth before the same lady had to tell someone else to deal with me when she was just standing there doing nothing, so clearly you can see that there were nothing for the customer to feel like there money is welcomed, the lady in the end was fine, I will never go there again even if you paid me to. When you spend your money for these people to hold there jobs I would expect some bit of respect. I will point this out to apple as well.
Gabriel was very professional & professional. Gabriel was an excellent Technician who looked for various ways to help with a resolution. Although my situation is not complete , I am confident that Id I return to the Upper East Store I will be assisted in a good manner.
I came here with appointments for issues with an iphone 7 plus and an iphone 7.Iphone 7 plus - I wanted to replace the battery which they were reluctant to do but I had to tell them that I am still getting it replaced. I assume the $29 replacement is not a good enough business for them. They gave me an eta of 2 hours for no reason. Now on the iphone 7 was stuck on thd apple logo and they tried to restore this. Without even let the process completely over, the asian lady who refused to give her name gave me the solution that the whole logic board has to be changed which is $319. I was really disappointed with the quality and letting her know that. Guess what, the phone came back to life and she didnt expect that. She was trying to justify that ot might go dead again. I was surprised to see what kind idiots work here. When I start asking for clarification, she became very defensive and rude. I had to raise my voice at one point to stop her non sense.I Will write the same feedback to Apple as well but nothing gonna change.I would suggest never visit this store with service related issues as they have no clue or they are not motivated enough to do any work.
Horrible service! I spent over $1000 dollars and lady did not bother to help me to set up anything. She was super rude and unpleasant. I do not understand how they can have people like her still work in customer service. This location is very bad. I also wanted to fix issue in the phone and instead they said I should delete apps and download again. What a joke. Ridiculous.
Was shocked by the rudeness and complete lack of any sense of customer service by Nathaniel Ramos who I had the unfortunate experience of meeting today. Apple should really wonder what kind of a customer experience they are giving in their stores. Will never come back to this location .
I wasted at least 1 hour of my life today in Apple thinking I was getting help with my sons phone! I left thinking my issue was resolved by a lady with long brunette hair. When I gave the phone to my son he confirmed it still was not fixed. I am mad at myself for forgetting her name because I would definitely put her on blast. I am going to the Apple store in Queens Center today in hopes of actually getting help. Just another reason why I am not an IPhone/Apple user. I can only hope my son will come over to my Samsung world. It should not be this hard to get help with your phone.
This a review for an entire apple experience. My relatively new computer had a problem with the trackpad. I brought it into an apple store to get it looked at and they let me know I needed to send ti in. I needed it for a few days for work and backup my files, so they let me know I could drop it off at any location. I brought it here to drop it off and they wouldnt let me. After discussing the problem, they had me wait for a technician to look at the computer, but no one showed up for 20 minutes. Im taking the computer to a different shop to get fixed (not an apple store).
Came here to buy a new phone and this place is a hellscape.1. no seating. at all. not a single stool, bench or chair in sight. disabled and elderly people exist! and people who are tired and want to sit! your crowd control techniques are ableist ageist classist etc2. the man who helped me repeatedly called me dear, darling, sweetheart, etc. he wouldnt do that if I had been a man, pointblank.3. when he wasnt able to connect my phone, he suggested I go to T-Mobile but was weirdly disparaging of the people at t-mobile, implying that they werent as professional as the apple staff, saying that they didnt have his level of expertise, and when I said I would go the one in Harlem he implied that I shouldnt because they wouldnt be able to help me??. the staff at t-mobile was accommodating, professional, considerate, and a million times more helpful than anyone at the apple store
Terrible customer service. Apple, what the hell? I showed up 10 minutes late due to traffic and my scheduled appointment was cancelled. I have a job!!! only middle of the day appointments available if you want your phone the same day. What do you expect in the middle of Manhattan!? I was ready to tell the service representative... Keep the phone!!!!!Multiple thumbs down. Try another location. But clearly Apple has lost significant points.
Each of my most recent visits to the UES Apple store has been outstanding- especially in helping me transfer info from my iphone 8 to my new iphone 11. Revisited the store to purchase an iphone 11 for my sister - again great service. Now will go back to set up her iphone11....M Egen
Once I entered. 1st thing it was crowded (granted it was during the holiday rush) and its an apple store lol but for me it was my 1st time in a Apple store. And every associate was busy at the time. So I was lost in terms of where to go to purchase and what not. Apperantly you checkout downstairs. But overall good experience.
Didnt know exactly where to pick up a web order and no one was free enough to help out. But I did figure out that the cashiers where the people standing behind a counter right by the second floor stairs. It would be preferred if there was a sign or something to direct customers to the paying counter.
This is the worst Apple Store that Ive been to. I was racially profiled! I went to look at some products, so I picked up a case to look at it. As soon as I picked it up, the employee ask if I needed help - and I said Im fine. He then proceeded to make a head gesture to security to keep a look out for me. Mind you, Im wearing scrubs because I worked earlier, so I dont know why I would be presumed as a thief. I will follow through with my complaint because Im pretty sure Apple has plenty of African American people using their products, it would be ashame if their stock value went down because certain locations are racially baised towards their customers.
Apple lucked my I pod. and I needed to buy another one .after 6 years of having this unit they luck it because I didnt update it . and I didnt have my original I tunes account info that I set years ago . they told me in order to open it back up that I needed to have my records from 6 years ago . I think apple have some nerve to charge this much for a unit and then luck it up so Ill buy another one . its called keeping your clients as hostages .. Dont like apple and they war not trying to help . and on the new I pod they wanted 99$ for care protection .shame on them !!!!
Thank goodness for the manager, PJ, at this location!! Was staying on the UES while taking the Bar Exam, only to have my track pad complete jam at 6pm the night before the first day of the exam. In a literal panic, I ran into the Apple Store, only to be told, Sorry, you dont have an appointment and were full for the rest of today. Basically sobbing, PJ took me aside and was able to quickly change a setting to make the mouse work (at least for the next day).Glad to see Apple has retained the quality customer services in management that customers know and love. Sad to see that Apple has lowered their retail hiring standards to rude faces who arent even willing to listen to your concerns before shutting down your needs.
Today a fraudulent purchase was made online and picked up in the Apple Upper East Side Store in the amount of 652.16 cents. It was impossible to get a hold of anyone in the store despite numerous calls and transfers. I am confused as to how a person could have picked up nearly 700 dollars of merchandise without having to show proper identification. This leads me to believe an employee of the store may be part of the theft. I look forward to a resolution and hearing back from this store at some point.
Ive been to this location twice in the last week and experienced really low customer service compared to any other Apple Store Ive visited. During my first visit, I was there to test headphones. They have too many bluetooth headphones connected to the same 3 iPods so I couldnt connect any of them to my phone to try it out with the music I actually listen to. Its very hard to get a sense of how headphones are going to sound with different genres of music when they only present an option to listen to pop or hiphop.I asked one of the geniuses if they could explain to me why the headphones couldnt connect to my phone and that person had to ask two other people for an answer. Once discovered that it would be insanely difficult, I asked if someone could temporarily disable the guided access so that I could go to youtube and look for some types of music I listen to instead. That person clearly didnt understand what I was trying to say. Its pretty sad if you know more than the expert.Today, I went back to exchange the headphones I purchased. The Beats Studio wireless headphones are too big for my small head and end up sliding down to my neck as I listen. When I returned them, the guy asked which kind I wanted to exchange and I said Id like the wireless Solos instead. He told me to choose a color so I picked a beautiful set of blue headphones that were displayed along with the other 17 wireless models on the wall, only to get home, take them out of the box, and realize the guy gave me the wired version.Needless to say, Ill have to make yet another trip there just to get the type of service I shouldve gotten in the first place. I have never seen an Apple Genius with such little knowledge of the product and no attention to detail. Its unfortunate that this is my local store. I hope I dont have any computer issues in the future and need to visit them again...
Sooo, if you purchase any apple accessories (Powerbeats 3) and need a replacement or need to use your Limited Warranty , prepare for the employees here to LIE through their teeth and tell you- you wont be able to get serviced if you did not purchase at the actual store. Which is a lie. They must service any apple product as long as it has been purchased via an authorized re seller, with proof of purchase, which i had. What is the point of being on the clock if you dont actually want to do your job.
I walk into this apple location the guy in the front told me what I needed and he will check me in , I ask him how long , since I just had to change my headphones. He said ten mins so I walk in with a white baby in a stroller , stood there for almost 20 mins the black guys never approached me and ask me if I had checked in again ,which I didn’t know I had to since the guy at the front said he will check me in . The place wasn’t busy the blacks guys checked with everyone standing there except me they were just staring at me . Most of them didn’t have clients after 20 mins the baby started fussy a littleI had to approach one guy and ask him how long is it going to take , only then he spoke to me saying oh you didn’t check in.. what a bunch of fools in there I guess I could be stared at for 20 mins cause I came in with a white baby but no one could approach me and ask me why I’m stand there for so long and I was the only one standing there...smh I Will never visit the branch on east 74 on Madison!
Is Apple getting ghetto? Customer service at Apple stores and phone has gotten really bad lately, Ive been a happy fan for a decade, going to Samsung after this weeks customer service disaster in which I was told after 2 stores, 6 phone calls that its too bad that I felt that this was inconvenient for me...wow. They couldnt story track my issue any time I spoke with someone I had to re introduce the issue, was like a police interrogation.
The worst costumer service I’ve got in the last 14 years!!!! So no, I didn’t put 90lbs or more of anything on my phone. The phone just stop working appropriately. PJ Verica the manager needs to learn how to treat costumers and to not be rode and unprofessional in her job. If you can, you better go to different location of apple in NYC!!! I won’t step in this location ever again thanks to PJ Verica.
Big store. I feel like this is the main apple store of Manhattan because this place provide with almost everything and when other apple store dont have what you looking for, this one will have it. is also open 24/7. so think of all the stuff you might need at 3 am and this is the one open at that time
Terrible service, I brought my iphone 5c in to replace the battery, they replaced the battery and in the process broke my home button so then they ordered a brand new iphone 5c for me, I came in a few days later and the tech then bent my SIM card when he pulled it out of the old phone to put it into the new phone so now I have to spend money on a new sim card and reps will just forget about you if you dont remind them that you have been waiting for an hour, then they give you attitude when you are annoyed that they broke your home button and damaged your SIM card, I wish I could give this store negative 100 stars, I had to pay 50 dollars for a new battery as well, Apple really needs to start improving their customer service because this experience with them has left me totally disgusted with the product
Worst apple store ever. 40 min wait after booking an appointment. They told me they could not replace my phone even though I have applecare+. When home and did it over the phone with no problems. Rep did a bad job on explaining. Just dont understand why the reps instore couldnt help me. Never going back to this location again.
Its a mini apple store, theres nothing there! It only has the basics, so if you are looking for a wide selection of fun gadgets or accessories do not come here. Also their normal clientel is sooooooooo needy you will never get your hands on a person to help you, upper east siders think its a personal concierge service.

2021-10-22I had a problem with my AirPod ( my voice doesn’t go through the other side) and it was my first time problem with Apple. When I went to Apple, they suggested me to clean the buttom and gave me an appointment in case . I went back two days later at my appointment time and “Christina” took my AirPod to test it and helped me a lot. Then she understood that it’s not my fault and gave me a new one. She was sooo kind and really helpful. If you read this comment, thank you again for your hard work, appreciate it 🤞🍎

2022-03-21Very impressed by the service at this Apple store service! Anthony the manager understood we are not particularly computer savvy and recommended us to a wonderful assistant: ALEX. Alex guided us step by step, took care of all details, explained everything very clearly and took her time to make sure we were understanding what she was demonstrating. What service, really VERY IMPRESSIVE!

2022-05-13I still prefer the 5th Ave store. Personnel typically more knowledgeable there.I was handed off from person to person when buying a phone and getting it installed in store. It took longer than expected which made them and me late. And I needed to finish the installation at home which took a while, especially, as it turned out that my watch was still paired with the traded in old phone and one person giving me wrong information. Thankfully, I found the information needed to pair and restore most of my watch data online on the Apple website.Additionally, I didn’t receive my receipt by email, and unfortunately, I didn’t ask for a printed receipt. When calling the next day to get a copy of the receipt by email, nobody at the store picked up the phone - for me or Apple customer support…. Will have to go to the store and see if it will be possible to get a receipt. Good to check out items in person - buying experience not so great.

2022-02-22Went to this store to get replacement air pods, because the left ear of my first ones werent working. I come home and realize i have missed called from someone named Julia who said they forgot to take down the new serial number to make sure its registered to my Apple Care insurance plan. She asks for me to either call back or come back to the store. Today was my only day off, so of course I decided to call the store. I called several times and no one has answered the phone. I called apple technical support and explained the whole thing to the rep, who told me they couldnt do anything even though i gave them all the information they needed. She said she would try and contact the store on my behalf but couldnt get through. Now i have to take more time out of my schedule to go back to this store because whoever processed my replacement wasnt smart enough to register the new serial number. Never again will i deal with these incompetent people.

2022-04-26This Apple Store is stunning.Place used to be a bank and they preserve the original structure. Don’t forget to visit the basement. Taking some pictures of the main facade is a must.Staff was super kind and helpful

2022-04-18Tech staff at yesterdays visit were helpful & cheerful ... but after Apple Support on the phone last night told me to take my iPad into the store again for a warranty exchange, the in-store tech staff at todays visit (x) told me they wouldnt do an exchange because the Apple Support person was wrong and (y) treated me like I was a grifter trying to scam Apple.TL;DR - avoid the Monday morning tech staff at this store.

2020-12-06Stunning location. Social distancing was kept carefully so it took a little while (about 40 min wait and 20 min appt) but it was worth it since it all felt safe and organized. I also noticed surfaces and phones were wiped down between customers. I traded in some old devices and got a gift card for the value. I found the staff to be helpful and professional. Overall great experience. Book a reservation ahead of time (although you can also wait in the walk-in line). Would recommend.

2022-06-26Great Apple Store! Staff is very helpful, especially Taj in customer pickup who took the time to review my full order before letting me leave. Taj noticed I might have ordered the wrong item (bought a phone charger adapter instead of laptop charger adapter) and made sure I was aware. Saved me a lot of trouble and extra $. Great customer service

2022-05-02This is the best Apple Store in New York City!! I had an issue 4 years ago with the apple store on the 59th St location and it was the worse experience ever! Long story short, at the 59th St location I purchased the $600 apple watch and by mistake they put the $300 apple watch in my bag instead of the bag of the person next to me. It took the 59th St location 3 days to give me back the right watch that I purchased and on top of that they did NOT give me at least a 10% discount for my inconvenience. Anyways, I have not been to the 59th St location ever since and I do not regret my decision. I love apple products so I will continue purchasing but I decided to go to the Upper East location which is this one and I love it!! The staff here are beyond amazing and they treat you with so much respect and care. If you have any issues, they will immediately solve it for you. They take their time with you when you are purchasing anything and make sure they answer every single question and if they dont know the answer, they get someone who does! This store is filled with honest, kind, intelligent people with integrity. The location is also very beautiful and always clean. There was a time in which the store was crowded and there was a line outside, I remember the staff would come out and apologize for the inconvenience and even chatted with us making sure that everyone was okay and in a happy mood. They would come outside with a smile on their faces which made it easier for me to wait. This is what you call customer service, I give the Upper East side 5 stars!! But the 59th St location only gets a 2 star from me. Thank you, Upper East Side, for making my purchases of my MacBook, iPad pro, my new apple watch and my iPhone such a smooth and great experience.

2022-04-21Store employee Gio was very helpful in answering my questions about laptop vs. desktop and Apple vs. Android competitors. Free tutorials are a major plus as is Apple care for $100. per year. Now that I have gotten my feet wet, I may become an Apple customer in the future. They also have a store/service center at 59th St. & Fifth Ave.that operates 24/7 which is a major plus for nighthawks like myself. They also will convert my current Android hard drive to an Apple computer with a direct drive solid state processor.
