I am, a highly satisfied customer, with an amazing experience at AppleCare Genius Bar. This location is the best!!! Brant was very helpful, kind and catered to my every-needs. my experience with the Apple store has always been splendid. I am a highly satisfied customer and would recommend AppleCare services over T-Mobile any-day! Please make him Brant a supervisor he deserves to be a leader..
Went in Black Friday 2020 and the line was very long, I was ready to wait one hour but I was surprised to be help within 15 minutes.Very efficient very cool store, staff are great and ready to help. I saw some rude customers giving them a hard time and I mean at this point every one should know that you need an appointment to be help at any apple store. This location also has meter parking right next to it.
Unprofessional: asked about engraving services on IPad and was told it was not recommended and they don’t do that at the store because it makes the item worthless when trading in. The staff acted like no one ever does it and it was a crazy idea. Like, hello?im buying a gift and genuinely don’t care about trading in. Why am I judged for a service that Apple offers on their official site? Can’t tell if the person just didnt know about engraving service or was just being rude.
This store apple west 14th street sucks. The manager is a horrible person with a pathetic attitude. He gives off that racist vibes the way he speaks and looks at you. No proper communication at all. Also, they don’t allow you to use Apple Pay with apple’s card in this particular apple store and forced me to bring my physical card. They said it’s because their specific store’s policy that their transacting devices don’t work with Apple Pay. Seriously. Why would apple create the wallet app for? We went to a different apple store and Apple Pay works perfectly fine. Go somewhere else like apple soho or apple World Trade Center if you want to use Apple Pay or if you didn’t bring your physical wallet.
Walked in at 7:25 PM after driving from Staten Island, NY where the Apple Store closed at 6 PM even though other stores in the mall close at 7 PM. After paying more than $20 in tolls, the store associates told me they couldn’t help even though the store didn’t close to 8 PM. What made matter worse was that person who acted like a manager acted in condescending manner after I explained my journey because the store 2 miles from me home was closed. Horrible attitude. Even after original girl helping me offered to make appointment at 24 hour store , the guy acting as a manager was stand-offish and claimed that he could not make a call to see if an appointment was available tonight. Girl finally made appointment for me. Apple needs to hire more if indeed this store was so busy that they couldn’t troubleshoot an AirPod Pro.
Dont even come here unless you want to have a bad day. The staff and team here are not polite and irresponsible. They dont even know what they are doing. I believe the management team is not so good. The staff seem scared of something. Instead I went to upper West apple store feeling welcomed and the staff were actually helpful in resolving my issues about my phone.
I went to the 14th/8th avenue store to pick up my order. I was there 5-6 mins after closing (they close at 8). And even though, it was just a pickup, the employee at the front door refused to let me go inside and pick up my order. He said that their systems are down, even though I saw multiple people inside because it was just a couple of mins after closing.I told him I had the QR code ready and I was traveling tomorrow morning. He still refused. I asked him if it’s possible to change the pickup location to another store that’s closer to me, so it’s easier for me to grab it before I go to the airport in the morning bc it will be really tight for me. The employee offered NO advice or sympathy. His solution was to come down to the 14th at store pick it up at 9am. Absolutely worst service experience at Apple. I left in tears and cancelled my order bc no way that I could have made it to the 14th st store at 9am and made my flight.
I’ve never felt so mistreated by a service “professional” in my life, let alone 2. Security here refused to even listen to me for 10 seconds, honestly, when I was patient for a while, but obviously in distress. So enraged and exhausted that I don’t even have the energy to move from where I had to sit on the floor.
Fantastic apple store. The third floor is completely dedicated to the Genius Bar, and the first two floors are full of demos that have plenty of devices so you never have to wait. I do hope they follow in the footsteps do SF and 5th Avenue stores and integrate more greenery, but for the current version of apple stores in Nov 2019 this is as solid as they come. All the staff is friendly, and love the building their in and the integration of their classic glass helix staircase. Solid apple store!
I came here twice to get my screen repaired. What draws me to them besides the cool staff is that they always seem to have appointments available for the same day. Booked my appointment around 5:30 for a 7:30 slot and had my phone fixed by the time they closed. Literally lifesavers!
This Apple store is located at one of the most central touristic destinations, the heart of urban gentrification and rehabilitation, and the locus of creativity-driven industries. Given the fact that its visited by a large number of tourists and passerbys, this store is surprisingly well-organized and kept superbly clean. The acme of your experience at this store would likely to come from the service they boast here--its efficient, intimate, informative, and possibly everything you expect it to be.
After a false start, Apple worked with my to resolve an issue with one of my devices which broke just after warranty. They worked with me to come up with a reasonable solution to the problem and I walked away thinking this is one of the few big companies that truly values how customers feel about the overall brand.I spoke with 2 genius crew and the manager who followed up with me. Thank you
Carlos at the “Genius” Bar was very rude and completely unhelpful. He stated both of my phones were “completely fried” and irreparable, but could not provide any further information when questioned. I went to a phone repair store the next day and all I needed was a new phone battery.Terrible customer service and waste of time
I took a Iwatch 40 mm SE for Repair of Wear and Tear to Apple West 14 Street 9th Avenue the back Part of the Iwatch was hanging like it was Deteriorated badly made like the glass in back of the watch thinned out. The Apple Store Associate charge me $75,12 for replacing the Iwatch like it was my fault this Iwatch was Defective and the back part of the watch Thinned out..I have had Iwatch before and that never happened this Iwatch was Defective The back battery was Hanging.I would like a Refund of $75.12 credit back to my Debit cardApple Store West are Scammers .
The staff and the store manager were impatient and unwilling to help. They also misled me about the returning deadline, if I assume best intention, I hope they did not do this on purpose :)I tried to return an apple watch I bought one week ago while I lost the original packaging, they were super strict about packaging and was not willing to help even though I have bought 10+ Apple products and returned several of them without the original packaging in the past. Also The flexibility of returning without a lot frictions has been one big reason I chose to buy Apple products directly from Apple instead of other retailers. During the convo, the manager was not impatient either, it was not the same invited environment I have experienced in stores elsewhere, they just sent me to call 800-my-apple.About the misleading information, the manager said the return deadline has been extended to Jan 31st for all purchases in Jan.When I called 800-my-apple, the representative told me that I can just ship back the watch with other proper packaging and the return deadline was still 14 days instead of Jan 31st.
I’m very disappointed with my appointment at this particular location, absolutely worst experience ever among all genuine bar. I was asking for a manager to better assist us with needs, but a guy’s name Anthony Galante came over and referred himself as a lead/manager of genuine bar for this location to gain our trust and he was not willing to help the situation and also evicted us from branch location. Because we didn’t speak fluent English. I have been an apple customers since apple 4 came out. I bought Mac book, iPad and iPod all from apple, I’m very disgusted with the way they treat customers.I really hope apple’s management team can have a better training system with the managers at the this branch location, for them to not standing at a high point to look down at the customers . I came here to fix my product problems and not here for them to blame at us for all the issues with the product.
Employees here range from kind but helpless to incapable and condescending. Managers tend to fall into the later category, which clearly sets the tone for the staff here. If youre coming here to hand over your hard-earned money without complications, youll be fine, but if you have anything more complicated than a simple purchase transaction, good luck with that. Recommend coming in on a weekday--daytime primary staff is significantly more capable than on the weekend.
So you come at 8.59pm just to pickup an order and the security guy doesnt let you come in unless the manager approves it-the store is supposed to close at 9pm.The manager comes to the door at 9.02pm, another girl came in the meantime to pickup an order too- and he doesnt let us go in.At 9.06pm another girl comes and this time the manager let her go, such as the other girl after imploring her. I didnt have the chance to go in, while I was the first one to arrive and the only one to come before 9pm.Definitely not the kind of customer service you expect when you shop with Apple. The spirit given by Steve Jobs is far away from what Apple became.A few pictures of the manager
Not sure if it is the store or Apple in general at this point. The Genius Bar will quickly try to shuffle you out with the solution being either to purchase a new device or send it in for repair. If you ask for them to try any other solutions you are quickly shut down. Would not recommend this location.
Store is very clean and presentable like any Apple store. Was very frustrated because I tried making a purchase using a Visa gift card I received and they cant just scan the card like any other store, they had to call up Visa enter all the numbers and wait for the balance. The whole ordeal took an extra 15 min. Word of advice.. only pay with an Apple gift card. Dont attempt any others unless you have time to spare.
Helped by four key people on a Saturday as my iphone 12, post a download update, circled hello swipe up and never unlocked. Took two trips and didnt leave till it was 100%. Four people were gracious & kind, Judith Michelle, Victor, Cecil and Kenu (probably didnt get his name correct). Makes a huge difference to have good service from attentive staff who go the extra distance with their approach.
Absolutely great management and staff who took a difficult problem I was facing with a product repair that seemed to be in limbo and elevated it up the chain until it was solved. Each person along the way cared about doing their job well and solving a problem for a customer through whatever means they could. Im grateful now to have my product back in my hands.
Worst Genius Bar experience ever ! The staff are rude and the person helping me was flirting with a women sitting beside me and did not provide any help. I asked if the diagnostics could tell him the reason why my AirPods case was not charging and he just said it happens and you need to get a replacement which was completely fine and I paid for that. Asked him to see if he clean the phone speakers and he said it costs $10 per phone as its 2021 now. That’s not true Apple doesn’t charge people for that. Worst customer service ever . Tried to lodge a customer service and they said sure we will contact the store. Wow Apple learn to treat your loyal customers better than this !
The representatives who helped me yesterday were wonderful. Especially Rasmus, he was an excellent representative and did absolutely everything he could (including waiting on hold for almost 45 minutes to speak with the cell service provider to verify identity) when I was having trouble with a system glitch. The other folks who talked me were also very helpful. Truly the definition of great customer service!
They are focussed too much on sales Vs support. Also not as nice as the one in Michigan. On the flip side nice restaurants around so it wasnt too much of a bother.I have to give a special mention to Jem. He was wonderful and he was the only one who cared. He is a star.
Im really disappointed about the service I received today. I was here for a pick up order and had some question regarding an offer. The pickup guy told me to ask a guy in the front and left. Then I found the apple genius Denise. He was very impatient with my questions, which makes me feel like I am wasting his time that could have been used with other customers. He did not know the answer to my question, made only a little effort to answer it by skimming on the apple website for one or two minutes and quickly concluded that he do not know the answer without actually carefully reading the terms. After these, he reached the conclusion that I have to call apple myself and one-sided finished the conversation. Definitely will not come to this store again.
Wish there are zero stars I can choose. I am an apple big fan. but when I did trade-in today, they told me a different price, compared I did trade-in before yesterday. I concern about what is Apples standard to evaluate their product? Is it Apple value? Is it what I like Apple? Why do you hire someone who does not have professional skills? Please be make sure to use the same standard for evaluation trade-in !!!! I will keep complaining about this issue. This is not about money. This is about what the Apple standard for your customer.
Always quick and easy in this store , if you know what you need ...today was different , I knew what I needed and the sales person start by I’m not sure we have this ... ( I don’t really care about his advice , he must know the stock) then he didn’t found the smart case , then he finally founded the item, in a stockroom,I asked for a long cord and was also a big drama , he showed meMany kinds of cords except the one I was looking for ..: I graped it from shelves and ask him if I can pay all togheter... so... game over... it still a good place to go when you know what do u need ...Staff much ne coached and positive .
The store is really huge and theyre very organized. They have 3 flrs and they attend to customers according to their need of service. The staff are very helpful at least thats my experience cant speak for others. I love the location it near Chelsea Market its awesome.
Always a good experience. Genius diagnostic appointments are currently limited to 1 issue per appointment (approximately a 20 minute session) due to current Covid 19 Delta variant precautions so plan accordingly. It should be easy to book appointments close together or back to back if you have multiple issues.
Architecturally, the store looks and feels like a jewel box. The all glass staircase being the centerpiece of the design and the jewel itself, it plays nicely with the carefully renovated facade of this historic warehouse building in the meatpacking district of New York.
I bought a new MacBook and came here for assistance transferring data and trading in the old computer. After 4 visits, it is clear that this is a poorly run store. The staff have made multiple errors, haven’t been able to give accurate or clear answers, and no one seems to have any authority to try to remedy this comedy of errors. Whatever issue arises, I have been told that the person with the expertise necessary to resolve the issue isn’t in the store at that time and to reschedule for another day. Terrible customer experience that goes against everything that Apple supposedly stands for.
Very self serve style. Walked in and almost all of the reps just turned a blind eye. Wasnt busy. Every time I tried walking up to one of them they just started walking away.Apple stands for great user experience with their products. Its time they start standing for customer experience with their stores.
Full “not smart people” works there. gave my iPad to a reboot (update). As a result, now I have two albums - Last Import and Last 12 Months with the same photos in both albums, which I can’t delete on my own. In this regard, my iCloud is always full and I have to pay for extra space! Please put in Genius Bar at least someone matching this name!
Guys, let’s be honest. The COVID-19 pandemic has made most customers ruder, meaner, and less patient. And still, you have incredibly sweet and sincere agents at the Apple W 14th street store going above and beyond to help customers. The W 14th St Apple store is well-organized and beautifully lit in the day with its large windows. While waiting for and being serviced, it’s always fun to peer out of them.My husband and I were there accessorizing our new iPhones after replacing our ancient ones from the Mesozoic era. We were assisted by the most wonderful associate, Melody R., who was just the nicest person ever! She was expedient yet patient, not rushing us to make a decision, and an expert with applying screen protectors sans air bubbles! Her coworker Gina was also incredibly helpful and sweet!Overall, it was just a stress-free time for us, which is greatly appreciated! Thank you guys so much for your help!
Unfortunately they said I could only get my laptop looked at if I had a booking, which is reasonable. However they offered to book me the next available, which was in an hours time.So I waited an hour, after which time they told me theyd made a mistake and booked tomorrow instead. They still wouldnt see me, and told me to wait around for another hour and they might find a gap - Id wasted enough time so just left. Fairly irritating experience
Terrible customer service at this location. Lazy employees and dirty display. They don’t respect nor want to help customers. I asked someone if they could check if a product was in stock. He said he was busy while all he was doing was chilling with an ipad on his hands for like 15 mins after I asked. Most customers looked upset and employees could care less. Very few are willing to help. Worst location in the city. Go to soho,WTC, or any other location because this one is beyond unprofessional.
Terrible Service - Nothing is repaired at the store anymore you have to send it out. No one ever answers the phone at the store - the phone sends you to apple support who knows nothing and does not want to help you - so communicating about any work that is being done requires that physically go to the store. Apple stores are happy to sell you a product but after that they are not interested in helping customers and standing behind their product - perhaps that is because whatever you own with apple becomes obsolete the moment you buy it so they cant be bothered.
I had booked an appointment to get my laptop screen fixed. I reached 5 minutes late but they immediately signed me in and directed me to go to the 3rd floor. An apple personnel on the 3rdfloor seated .e and I barely waited for 10 minutes and a technician came to handle my case. My laptop was was looked into and sent in for repair immediately. Was in and out of the store in less than 30 minutes.
Boy I was so happy during the OBAMAS Presidency, Apple had FREE device Repair and Software installation - those days are gone my Friend - I thought theyd never end, we use to laugh and dance the night away, we fought and never lose, those were the days!!! I am looking forward to purchasing some Tech Support, very very soon. And the beat goes on - YEAH for APPLE!!!
Cool looking store! Completely overpriced repairs for slightly damaged devices... cost of thousands for a simple fix that requires opening up the computer to do some light soldering work. Completely unreasonable devices designed and built to fail. Support #RightToRepair
This little glass house is always bustling! The staff are dying to help (so to say). I came here to return an iPad Air and get a Pro because of that dogged 60hz refresh rate. Seriously who even sees in 60hz anymore? Also AppleCare costs a little bit more for the Pro but it’s worth it, in this day and age
Everything was so well organized! There were 4 or 5 employees outside to check you in, another person to grab your temp check and tons of employees to shepherd you around and help. I had a Genius Bar appointment and the whole thing took maybe 5 mins, no wait at any point of the process.
Awesome Service, clean environment, amazing staff. Sometimes, purchasing an Apple product is worth the extra cost for these guys in the store.they check you in and put you somewhere comfortable while you get whatever help you need.oh and if you need to repair a phone. avoid taking it you one of those third-rate places. they repair it here at at very reasonable comparison cost and sometimes cheaper.
Not well organized. I made an appointment and called before arriving and still no one could find me in the system. I had to find them my receipt of purchase. Delivered to another floor where 2 more “geniuses” needed things explained again. Techs were unhelpful and had attitudes. Most concerned about when they’re shift is up and no IDs are visible. They hang on left thigh, w names written side in. While I was there I witnessed 2 separate incidents w customers who were frustrated and visibly angry. One stormed out and ‘geniuses’ giggled. I prefer 72nd st store.
Picked up a few items I purchased online, they where nice enough and the wait wasnt long. A young man stood next to me while I waited for my order and eventually asked me if everything was OK, I let him know I was waiting for a pickup and he remained silent until my items arrived. Those glass stairs are pretty but give me vertigo, I dont see how people run up and down those things. :)
Very bad service: my pick up order still processing, so I came to the store earlier to check must something wrong. The store no any information with my order. They didn’t care, just let me stood call Apple by myself one hour. Then Apple updated my order means must wrong in the process. Apple never apologized to me, Manager Stacey said not welcome me , will cancel my order. Let staffs called police let me out said I wasted their time. But help customer is their job.
I’ve always had a good experience at this location. I had an issue with my Apple Watch (which began July of last year) and after a lot of back and forth over the phone I went into this store and was finally helped. It took 3 watches but I now have a watch that actually works. This store is clean, huge, and the workers are great. There is always a lot of traffic here seeing that the area is heavy with locals tourists. My only issue with the location is the elevator. It takes forever to get to which ever floor you’re on. Every time I go to this location I get annoyed with the elevator. I get great service but then I come to the elevator and it drives me nuts.....Overall it’s a great location to get whatever it is you need done.
We have been in this store three times over the past twos days! The first day we bought an iPhone 11 and had the most amazing experience! The second day we were buying a second iPhone 11 and both staff members I dealt with were incredibly rude and very very unhelpful! Very different experiences both days!
I actually went here with my wife to get her iPhone repaired. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They explained in detail our options for replacement as repair wasnt an option because of apparent water damage to the device. They actually informed us of the option to just buy a used version of a newer model instead of spending almost the same amount on a refurbished replacement for her outdated phone. Also the store was incredibly clean and well staffed and as usual for apple they leave all the latest toys out for you to play with while you wait.
It is a really great store! With really great employees! They are always ready to help you, when you have a question or concern. Their tech support is #1. No matter what issues you are having... they can help you fix them! It’s also just a really nice place to hang out! The building itself is really nice also!
It great service going over there since they open, for service on my Apples products. But I notice the newest Genius Bar people they don’t have too much knowledge of how some product work, came there today to buy 2 AirPods and check why my take so long to connect to my iPhone 8, the solution of the person was turnoff the Automatic ear detection, so why they make it like that? This and others commons thinks, Love apple but seeing they have to check they re training people..
So yesterday I upgraded my cellphone from iPhone 6 Plus to iPhone 12 Pro Max. I’m not happy with it. The videos on YouTube, content in facebook and other apps look blurred. It feels more like an Android phone than an Apple. Now I found out that the display they used on this new iphones is OLED. On iphones 6 they used LCD display. I think it might be that. But don’t know! The pictures taken on this new iPhone might look good, but the overall quality of the content in other apps don’t look neat. I see the difference and feel that my iphone 6 Plus provided a neater quality of the view on apps, of videos, statuses, video calls, profile pictures in chats, etc!Plus that it is a really heavy phone and not to mention the cost! Not at all very impressed with this phone but the total opposite, I’m kind of disappointed. The cameras might save it from me return it.
Take these reviews with a grain of salt. People are way more vocal about a bad experience vs when things are excellent. When your mad you want to vent, when your happy you go about your business. The store is great, staff is far more helpful than other retailers. They will go above and beyond to fix your phone or ensure you make the purchase that best fits your needs.
Showed up out of the blue wanting to get an iPhone 11 pro max (most had appointments) and I was inside in less than a minute. I waited about three minute to get the phone and was out the door in all of maybe 8 min. They are running a very smooth operation over there during this Covid 19 pandemic.
I love this location. It is convenient, I love the layout, and the staff is great. I always have terrific experiences with all of them. Last night especially! I came in, without an appointment, because my iPhone battery was swelling and popping the phone open. They recognized that it was a serious issue but were all booked up with appointments and asked if I could come back the next day. I told them I was in a time crunch and really needed to get my phone repaired. The manager came over and was very nice and offered to take me right away. He also made sure they gave me a completely new replacement iPhone for free...even though my phone was two years old and out of warranty. Thank you Carl the Manager and Apple on 14th St!!
I have been to many Apple retail stores in the past but this one was very pleasant. The workers are very friendly and being a consumer, it was great to be asked if I needed help many times (shows customer interest). The products on display are very neat and organized, and they have all items on display.
Really great store, has 3 floors. I feel this store ran more organized than the other Apple stores I’ve been too. Staff are very friendly and treats customers with care, the wait time was very fast, had a 12:50pm appointment, finished at 1:30pm. And was very convenient for me to take the train here. Will definitely visit this Apple store again.
I came here on a Monday around 3pm. I like this location as it doesn’t seem as crowded as other locations, like UWS, midtown, or Soho.I came here to check out the new 15” MacBook Pro, released July 2018.. Um, awesome. The sales associates here are always knowledgeable, and not pushy. They understand the products are big ticket items, and customers need a lot of information and time to think about these purchases.Even when they’re busy, I appreciate that they work hard to have enough sales associates on the floor to accommodate most. So that even when they’re busy, you’re never waiting long to talk to someone or ask questions. This store has 3 levels, which makes it annoying to travel through the store. You can definitely get a work out if you take the beautiful circle staircase highlighted at the front of the store. FYI, there’s an elevator behind the stairs.Bathroom is on the 3rd floor.
I love this place. I love taking my students here for field trips. The staff is amazing and Educational field trip coordinator is such a sweet guy. They welcome the class upon arrival with applause & theyre really sensitive to the needs of my special education students. These staff members have patience & understanding and should be applauded for their hard work. They also provide every student and staff member with t-shirt. Students get to go home with whatever work they created on a cool bracelet that doubles as a flashdrive. All for free!I will keep taking my students here and recommend all teachers of special education classes to bring their students as well.
My Laptop would not start up but also would not shutdown. It was overheating. So I made an appointment for the Genius Bar. I got there earlier than I was scheduled tp arrive. I was checked in and assigned a genius rep immediately. He analyzed the issue with my laptop within fifteen minutes. He also did an electronic analysis of my system right in front of me to be certain that everything was working properly. Then he gave me as much time as I needed to ask questions about apps and updates. The place was very crowded but no one had to wait very long for assistance. I think this was the best and most satisfying visit I have had at any Apple store. I will go there from now on.
Apple 14 street NYCI came in for my genius appointment for a recurring issue with my AirPods. An associate came over and when I explained my issue he suggested that a reset should be done. I insisted that the issue was deeper then that and the notes should show on the previous swapped pair. He suggested to leave it to charge for 15 minutes then he walk away. I waited about 40 minutes before I walk over to someone and asked if a manager was available. It seemed as if the associate forgot about me sitting there. No one gave me their name and I was completely disappointed as an Apple enthusiast. I feel like if I was discriminated against because everyone was being helped and I was completely forgotten about.Responsible Associates:HenleyMark
Very long lines. I was treated well until things started to go wrong. Weak WiFi connection so couldn’t transfer over my iPhone wirelessly... this is a tech company that should be able to handle people downloading and transferring software... it’s one of the things the company does! Would not go back, especially since I’m coughing up an arm and a leg to be strung along. Bad experience.
They are literally inclined and trained to not replace your items, specifically MacBooks. Won’t admit fault, and get you to pay personally anyway they can regardless of your warranty or the issue. I literally walked into another Apple store told them the same exact thing, the first offer out their mouth was to replace it, because clearly Apple was at fault.
Im not an Apple user so I dont find myself in an Apple store often however Ive been to this store a couple times now because of work. Ive come in to get a couple screens replaced and the process has been fairly painless. Ive gotten sat immediately every time and usually wait 5 to 10 minutes to see an employee. They ask some questions, take the phone, and tell me to come back in an hour. When I come back the phone is ready with a new screen and Im on my way. While the employees arent the most friendly or responsive overall what could be a terrible experience isnt.
I went 3 straight days. Spent a total of 40 minutes in 3 difference appointments 2 of which were NOT scheduled. These guys ARE GREAT. Thank You to the 3-4 employees that help me in those 3 different encounters. FAST FAST and GREAT service. APPLE NUMBER 1!! Thank YOU AGAINRubenNYC
Rude, rude, rude. Not sure how the title Genius can make individuals feel that they have authority over anyone. You are there to be polite and offer services to customers, who are already being overcharged.Cannot speak for all the “geniuses” but the “bad apples” should be tossed in the compost.
I went to the apple store to figure out to find if I should get iPhone 11 or pro. I couldnt find a difference in the screen and wanted help from apple geniuses. And they couldnt have been lazier. I asked one guy he said, oh the difference is in front of you. I thought ok maybe he is one of those but then other guy didnt even bother to move when I asked for help. I had to go towards him. Overall I met the two geniuses at this apple store
×××Update 22July2018×××The genius staff that helped me was great 5 stars for her, but Apple store sucked overall. Not a single drop of water was ever dropped on that MacBook Air, yet Apple store wanted to charge me 750 dollars (plus tax) to fix something worth less than 750 dollars. Horrible product support. Also my appointment started 20min later than the scheduled time. Validates my decision to dump Apple and get a Google product. Your product is expensive. You have over a hundred billion dollars laying around in cash, either do something good for customers without piling even more cash or do something good to the world.××××××××××××××××××××××Staff friendliness isnt the forte here, but theyre quite efficient, every time Ive been here they were fast and helped me be out of there ASAP.
The store wasnt particularly busy but still took me a good 5 minutes to find someone to talk to, who then added me to a virtual queue and had to wait about 15 minutes to finally manage to talk with someone to buy the phone I wanted to buy. The staff was helpful and nice, but the whole experience was slow and cumbersome. I will keep buying online...
Management clearly has some issues at this location (Chelsea, NYC, 14th Street). My father in law (who is Spanish for the record) went to return a damaged watch ( clearly defective from factory) and was pushed to one of the managers to make the return approved. They denied him the return 3 days after it was purchased and told him he had to pay $280 for it to be repaired. (Issue with watch was a cut mark under the glass, clearly a defect). He took it back home and less than an hour later when I arrived explained to me what happened. I decided to walk down to the store and return it (Im a white male for the record). Management looked at the watch, and told me clearly it was defective and returned it (not even an hour after the incident). I was in and out of the store in 5 minutes with no hassle. In this situation its clearly evident to me that this was the case. Disappointed in apples management and I hope somebody sees this message and reviews with team leadership that many situations still exist where race plays a role in the outcome (in this case a simple return of an item).
First of all, they did fix my computer and its great now. BUT, I had to wait for so long. I had an appointment and I arrived about 20 minutes before, the guy who worked there said I should have a seat that hed try to get someone to see me before my time. I asked if I had to come back when it was actually the time scheduled and he said no cause he had checked me in. So I sit, I waited the 20 minutes and nothing, which is ok, since it wasnt my appointment yet. So I waited 20 more minutes (after my appointment time) and nothing, so i finally got up and asked someone and they said I hadnt checked in. After that I still had to wait 10 more minutes... but at least they solved my problem
I do not get Apple. The shops are always full, you always have to wait. Then they have like 3 laptops and they never carry any reasonable configurations. And since they are much always decline to repair anything and can hardly ever help more than any normal person can, what is their point?
If you want an Apple services or get an apple producr. This is a place. Staff members are friendly and very attentive. I brought my MacBook Pro for melted rubber edge and got it identified and fixed at once. Apple store on 5th avenue is just for look not for services aa they are always over crownded
David (Mgr),Was great he assisted me and helped me with my issue and took care of it in the store.. I am forever grateful for his help.. Great customer service goes a long way with me. When you genuinely help someone because you see their need and understand the importance of it and you help you are a great manager.. Thanks David I can hear now..Ed
This Apple Store is really great when it comes to customer service. They got 3 levels, each with something different (e.g 1st floor is all about the products). Asked one of the reps to help me with an iPad that got stuck booting up. After setting me up with an Apple Genius, took them about 10 minutes to get to me and diagnose my issue.Their level of customer service is absolutely great. If anyone is looking to purchase an iPhone or any Apple products, I would recommend this store.
My iPhone 4 started to not gather any signals one day, I made an appointment to head to the apple store in the West Village. It was my first time going to keep it short I was impressed. The whole place looked like an Apple Product. I talked to one of the geniuses there and they were polite and handled everything smoothly . They gave me a brand new iPhone for my old one, absolutely free. All I have to say is bravo Apple.
The staff is friendly but not well equipped for the kinds of things that can ultimately define a customer experience. For example, a crazy person walking around threatening to attack people and cursing at everyone. They did nothing and allowed him to harass customers. A staff member told me “security had been called” when i asked if they were really going to let him walk around the store like that. However, from what i could tell they didn’t really do anything for 15-20 mins until he left of his own volition. A staff member apologized to be maybe 15 mins after the guy left saying he hadn’t wanted to escalate things. What would they have done if he’d attacked anyone? Probably nothing. Either way it’s unacceptable to let your customers get treated like this.
Really cool 3 story Apple Store! Tons of things to look at! The middle floor is mostly devoted to accessories and you can try out most things! The store is really busy because it is in a good location. It is usually hard to ask a question because the employees are helping so many other people, but if you know what you want, or want to try it out a little it is great!!
Went here to have my ipad replaced because of the battery issue we’ve been dealing for the past month. But unfortunately they didn’t give us the whole new set. Instead they just give us the replacement device. Now i just found out that the issue was the charger. Called apple support and made a new appointment somewhenre else. Didn’t want to deal with them again. Wasn’t happy about it.
The Apple store on 14th and 9th could learn a thing or two about customer service. Initially I was pleased by being greeted on the first two floors. Once I got to the top floor where my appointment took place not once was i greeted by anyone. I waited for someone to help me for 10 minutes until I went up to someone. I shouldnt have to ask to be helped at a place where I have an appointment. After I checked in for my appointment I wasnt helped until 15 minutes after my appointment was due to start. I received no apology from the store associate who greeted me dryly. He didnt bother to ask for feedback or even thank me for coming in. I saw other folks being helped left a right and no one even bothered to greet me. Seriously whats the point of even setting an appointment? I read other reviews where folks felt like they were being discriminated against racially and I definitely can confirm that bias. As someone who has been using my MacBook since 2011, I was disappointed to see how Apple doesnt teach its associates basic customer service skills. Surely a corporation with as much wealth as Apple could afford to educate its associates about customer service or at least professional development that touches on that. I definitely wont be recommending Apple to any of my friends and colleagues because your support system asks customers to jump through hoops just to get basic assistance.
Feedback during Covid reopening:1) You will have to wait outside, rain or shine, even if it’s ~85f so do not arrive more than 15 mins before your appointment.2) If you are having an on-site service or repair of any kind you cannot wait inside, you must wait outside.Neither were clear in the appointment confirmation. As a result I’ve spent 1hour 40mins sitting on the concrete sidewalk. I’d have planned my day differently had this been outlined.
Terrible Experience!! I waited over 1 hr & 20mins, no one never came to check on me. When the store was closing the manager approached me & said “So you’re just charging your watch in here?” Then i stated that i was waiting for my phone to be repaired! Which tells me he had no knowledge of this. Then 30 seconds later the “Repair guy” comes from the back with my phone. Which lets me know that i was waiting that whole time while my phone was ALRADY repaired!Apple Store I expected more from you, that was my first time in an apple store & probably my last.
Wow what an amazing store. Of course we love Apple and I remember my first Apple computer back in the early 1980s. I have been an Apple customer all these years and a visit to this AMAZING store was a treat. So many people, so many staff members looking to help you. This store is Amazing and is worth the visit for sure.Just got my new iWatch 4, own a iPhone 8+ and work on my 27 IMac Computer.
Very big apple store. Located in meatpacking district. This location is always very well staffed. As soon as you enter the store there are attendants ready to help. The store is very vast, the layout is well spaced out and there are a few floors. I didnt check out all the floors. I recommend visiting the Apple Store West 14th.
Purchased an unlocked iPhone in matte black only to get home and realize I was given piano black. On top of this I told the guy that although I wanted the unlocked phone that I had AT&T and needed it set up for that. By the end of the transaction he left and I being in the bliss of a new iPhone left without thinking about it so I had to come back to spend another 2 hours getting it set up. Overall 6 hours spent on the experience. Giving an extra star though because they were kind enough to deal with my ccd company to get my transaction unblocked that was flagged as fraud.
Worst experience ever. I knew i had to wait long so that wasn’t an issue but what pissed me off was their lack of knowledge. I wanted to buy the new iPhone 8 Plus but i wanted to put it on apple credit, the sale associate there told me i had to put a credit card on file in order for me to do so. It sounded so strange because to open a credit card you need a credit card on file?🤔 i didn’t argue and i didn’t have one on me so i had no choice but to leave and go home to get my credit card. I decided not to go back to this location and went to the Queens Center Mall location. Come to find out you don’t need a credit card to apply for credit with apple. You can imagine how pissed i was because i wasted so much time going up and down NY for a phone. The sale associate did not look like she wanted to help me plus she barely asked questions. Retrain your employees on the difference between financing, apple upgrade, and credit.
Even in the Holiday Rush, the store was very well organized and sales staff were attentive without being pushy. Shopped on line and picked up in store, team member explained new functions of he phone to me while my phone was handed to me.within ten minutes of walking into the store
I live closer to the midtown location but this is my preferred Apple Store. The staff is always courteous despite the large crowds. The genius bar has saved my butt more than once from things like laptop getting wet in the middle of writing a paper, or losing am iPad. Love them,
Worst experience, very disappointed with a store that is considered high-end, floor manager Chris did not know his products or pricing, very care-free personality, unyielding, unhelpful, and non-chalant, the only reason I purchased the items I did was because of the immediate sales rep that assisted me. I purchased two MacBook Air along with Apple care package for my girls and felt that my purchase meant nothing. No thank you Apple
I came at 3:00 for a 3:40 Genius appointment that I had made online in the morning. I checked in, despite being early, and my appointment was changed to a walk-in appointment. As a walk-in customer, I need to wait in a queue and I lost my guarantee of a 3:40 appointment. Its now 3:40, and Im told that there are 6 walk-in customers in front of me. Not to mention those customers with appointment times not withdrawn.Update: I was moved up in the queue, and I will be next. Reasonably late.
Apple and Apple West 14th Street do not know what customer service means. They NEVER pick up their phone and so had to go back several times with a faulty battery (resulting from bad Apple manufacturing) to each time hear they could not fix it in time after having to wait a long period. They obviously assume that all their customers are desperate to talk to their so called geniuses and sit in their overcrowded fishbowls - If you care about your customers you should not expect them to be without laptop for more than a few days or you should replace them with a new product - especially if you cannot deliver quality products that work well beyond the first few months. Time to go back to other brands that are more reliable and have better customer service!
One of the employees wasnt wearing a uniform, a logo, badge, or ID indicating he was an employee. I seen a device of some kind on his hip and kindly asked him if he worked here. He was silent and gave me a stupid look. I asked again and he finally responded with a yes. Is it an in the know thing of some kind to know who or what Apple employees look like? If there is, Id like to know so I wont be treated so rudely the next time I go to an Apple Store.
I want to give this place 0 stars if I could. The employees are extremely unprofessional and disgustingly disrespectful. My sister and I were looking to buy a Macbook and we are pretty clueless about the process so we wanted to ask this black lady for help on which one to choose. This lady yawns in front of our faces then proceed to apologize with a smirk. She shakes her head to her coworkers in front of our faces. I didnt hear their conversations but Im pretty sure she were looking down on us because we werent going to purchase something or because our questions were rather, annoying. And I admit they were but whats the point of hiring someone if they are just going to do their job poorly. We end up purchasing a Macbook pro anyway because I desperately needed a new computer. So youve been warned, order online with Apples official website rather than waste your time with these people.
I went to the Apple store on 14Street to activate my new iPhone X and found the staff to be polite but not helpful. Lots of fun conversations since I spent hours there because of their slow internet. I left with my iPhone 6 and new iPhone X that should have been activated but it wasn’t. When I questioned it they told me it was the internet service that it would work better when I left the store. Questionable. It wasn’t activated and I had to go back the next day. They should have checked. My second complaint is 2 employees at that store told me I could trade in my old iPhone 6 for credit that I could use in the store to purchase anything I wanted. I find out today that it is not true. You can only trade in old phone and get credit towards purchase of new iPhone.Apple employees need more training and know the policies. I am disappointed since I’ve been a consumer since the first iPhone and a stockholder.
Jaye helped me out with a broken screen. Their calibration machine wasnt working so they gave me a new phone for the price of fixing the display. The technical staff was very prompt and everyone was very friendly. They completely calmed my anxiety about the state of my phone. 10/10 would recommend.
The staff at the front directed me to an employee who did not want to help me. She said in a rude and demeaning way that I have to speak to the people behind her. This was on the back of the first floor. It was for the return issue. Its a clean well organized store but service isnt the best.
Made a appointment at 7:05 pm cam in around 6:45pm for the appointment and now its 7:23pm and I still havent taken care of. It seems like they just passed me since they are starting to help this lady who walked in way after me. I am not very happy with how they care of customers here and it almost feel like they are purposely doing this considering my racial status. Not a happy customer and dont plan to come back to this location
Phone service at this location was ineffective. I had a one to one membership until recently and have had one for at least 2 years but the rep could not locate a record of my e-mail and could not answer other questions about this service. A previous rep connected me to the wrong department on the phone. I also could not find any information on the web site I was instructed to visit. Now I have to make a special trip to the store. My impression is that that Apple is no longer the company it was when Steve Jobs was around. Id like to hear opinions about this from others.
Personal should be more observant and less clueless.Arrived and was told there was only one person in front of me, they asked my name and said 5-10 minute wait.25 minutes later and I was still waiting next to the employees at the door. I asked them how much longer and they said my name was not on the list. They added me to the priority list, which I had to wait only 15 more minutes to be helped.
I am also in the camp who has never had a good experience at the Genius bar. The staff seems more concerned with being overly cool rather than actually helping, listening or being thorough with the task at hand. Most recently I had to have an iPhone re-programmed because of the iPhones failure to re-boot - it own self created problem. I needed to make an appointment (a 75 min. wait) and then was left waiting another 25min. after the appointment time. The staff was dismissive of the problem or the inconvenience it caused and after delivering the re-programmed phone disappeared to her next appointment before i could get any help setting up the phone. When I requested some help from the scheduler I was told no one was available and I would need to wait another hour for a new appointment. They seemed much more interested in turnover than supporting the products.
IPhone-less than one year old, the image was shaky on my phone, brought in to check out the issue. Thought it would be covered. Too naive, or too good to be true. the genius told me 162 dollars because there was a tiny crack on the phone. The phone is less than one year old.
I came in with a chronic computer problem and I absolutely couldnt go without my computer for the duration that they needed it for repairs as a student and publicity intern. BYRON was a massive help!! He told me he would do everything he could to help me out and stayed well after his shift ended (and after the store was supposed to close) to help me! He ended up hooking me up with so much more than I needed! I am so grateful to him and the awesome team that helped out too. THANK YOU BYRON!!
Clean all glass structure, 3 floors, set in the upbeat and hip Meatpacking District of Manhattan. The apple staff is helpful and usually responsive to all questions about your Apple products. Greeters will guide you to the floor or location where youll be best helped. Gets crowded after work and weekends! Classes are difficult to hear at peak times (evenings), although the instructors are super helpful and very knowledgeable.
Very discriminatory place. I was waiting to ask for a cable charger and a fat man in a suit cuts in front of me all while the apple geniuses saw everything and proceeded to help him and not me. I guess being in comfortable north face wear and not tie and shoes means one gets served last on a Saturday night. Very bad service.
10 to 20, bordering on 100 STARS for J. Michelle. This is my second review for the Apple W14th Star and its better than my first. I went to AT&T yesterday and was turned away. The Apple Store in Grand Central told me they were empty when I called today, yet when I arrived it was a 4-5 hour wait. Enough complaining.I went to my favorite Apple Store on West 14th and had the absolute pleasure of working with J. Michelle. Lovely lady, sharp, diligent worker, who ran numerous tests, figured out the issue, and because of J. Michelle, I have an I Phone 8 that works seamlessly. This has saved me time, money, peace of mind and practically everything else in life. Christmas came late for me as J. Michelle has been my Santa Clause.I cannot recommend this store enough and Im blown away at the level of the Geniuses. I work with software developers for a living, and the staff at Apple on W14th makes me feel as if Im at a buy side firm, working with the highest level of professionals.Settling is the last thing I do, and J. Michelle not only exceeded my expectations, she has me internally satisfied and you cant put a price on that. What an incredibly positive experience. Apple W14th has now helped fix a major issue with my Mac and an even bigger issue with my I Phone. Hopefully I wont be a regular, as issues are nice to avoid, regardless, there isnt another store who will earn my business. Tremendous job. Very clean store, the whole process runs like clockwork from the moment you check in and youre treated as a respected person. Thats what anyone wants, especially dealing with technology and stress.Big Ups to J. Michelle one more time. Most rewarding experience of 2018 thus far.The Apple Geniuses lived up to their name and went above and beyond. They fixed an issue that was preventing me from doing my job. They didn’t charge a dollar. If I could provide 10 stars that still wouldn’t be enough. Excellent, intelligent, professional and prompt service. Strongly recommend this location to anyone.
Keywords: long wait, arrogant and rude Genius Bar stuff, racial discrimination against AsianI was selectively ignored and mistreated at my visit to the Genius Bar on 06/03/17.The staff continuously ignored my existence while helping out other people that were sitting at the same table as me (me being the only Asian at the table). No one came to check on me while everyone else around me was being helped. Indeed it took another girl (Caucasian American) next to me to point out to the staff that Im also a customer waiting to be helped because no one would even make eye contact with me for me to have a chance to speak with them.Even when I was finally being helped, the specific genius was indifferent, if not arrogant, and rude. He did not address me (no greeting of any sorts), did not introduce himself to me, did not apologize for the long wait that I have suffered. However I did observe him doing above, what I considered normal retail store curtesy, to the other people at the same table before me.I have to ask myself, when did apple decide that they want to follow united for customer service?Btw, I was told to come back at 7pm to pick up my phone, but I finally get my phone back in my hand at 8:15pm. Over an hour wasted at the Apple Store because Supposedly your phone is coming right out. Although, I believe thats the norm at this Apple Store location?Thank you, Apple, for teaching me what racial discrimination is, in a city such as New York.

2022-08-05Really nice open lofty space. Multileveled. Most of the time consumers are seen at The Genius Bar on the second floor. Great views overlooking the smallish park next to the building, with a huge Starbucks right next door! Fantastic!

2021-10-27When i don’t go to the super busy Apple Store in SoHo, i find that the slightly less busy Apple Store in the meat packing district is a great alternative. the store is pretty big and spacious, well-maintained, and up to those crazy high Apple standards of design. this is a multi-level store—there’s merchandise on all three floors with the Genius Bar on the top floor. most of your needs will be met by the first two floors which stock your iphones, Apple Watches, desktops, laptops and more. I really like how the set-up doesn’t feel crowded or crammed with merch.if you’re an over-the-eat BEATS Studio fan, they have all the latest color ways for them as well as the standard ones. the selection can’t be beat!there’s a ton of staff to guide and help you as well as to close your purchase via credit card or Apple Pay. this Apple Store is still controlling customers numbers inside so there might be a line sometimes. however i typically come during off hours so that hasn’t been an issue.this location is like a block away from Chelsea Market so its easy to kill time at the Apple Store before or after hitting Chelsea Market. when i am in this area, running errands—this location is a convenient stop when shopping etc. i haven’t tried but i am sure you can charge your iPhone on the floor display laptops and desktops.

2022-05-13I would have given it a 5 star. I’ll start with the bad. I didn’t like that I was waiting more than I should have over either a mistake or workers being biased. I went in for a new phone, I was put on the list to get help from an apple employee. As time was passing by, I was seeing people get helped that came in after me. I made the assumption that they made an appointment online, fine. Almost 40 minutes pass by and no employee came and asked if I need help and you can tell they had time to do so. It wasn’t until after 40-45 that someone came up to me and I had to make sure that I got pushed in front of all the newcomers and he did find my name on the list.. so that raised a lot of questions. Other than that, the apple employee who helped me set up the new phone and everything was amazing. She was helpful and knowledgeable all the way through.

2022-08-18I went in to the store to purchase a new iPhone and was swiftly and professionally assisted by Brock. He was amazing, and I was fully set-up with new phone and accessories in hand in less than 10 minutes! He helped me transfer my service, secure Apple Care, placed my screen protector, made sure everything was backed up, etc. etc. etc.

2022-03-18Apple store no different from most. This space is less architecturally interesting than other NYC stores, but the retail space and service are similar enough. I found the staff quick and eager to help. However, the wait time for a genius bar appointment can be long.

2022-06-13Is the second time I come here and the second time that I get out disappointed on the service. Any other Apple store in the world has a better service than this one. First time I came to buy an Apple Watch and after waiting for more than 20 minutes I finally got someone to go show me the watches. He didn’t even want to show them, he wouldn’t talk or explain.Second time, I came to return the watch and, again, waited for 20 minutes until someone came to me and said that in order to return the watch it should be charged (he could have said that and save me 20 minutes of my time). It’s been 40 minutes now and I don’t have anyone to help me with returning the watch.
