Im at the bar right now and lit AF off 3 mucho long. Islands. This Applebees has the best staff. Quit acting like youve never been out to eat some more and cut them some slack. They are young and only young people would put up with your shenanigans.10/10.Highly recommend. Make sure to sit at the bar.
This may be one of the most ghetto Applebees Ive ever patronized. While sitting and waiting for my order, a security guard came by. He asked the young lady behind the bar if she worked last night. She looked directly at him and said. Where there any fights last night? He said no! She then said...thats because I was off! 🤔😔😒 WTH?
Really should not receive one star, service was horrible, Pepsi was very week, I had to ask for a drink, cause it was not offered by the waitress, also had to ask for an straw for my drink and I also had to ask for some napkins and guess what she only gave me one! No I was not nasty with her at all I kept positive even though the service sucks. Also the restaurant is dirty here are some photos, I wanted to take a picture of the kitchen cause it was horrible
I wish I couldve given zero star. Applebees Atlantic mall was my go to restaurant and barLast night I ordered 3 baby back ribs with 2 fries and mash potatoes. In all the years of going to and ordering from them its the worst tasting food Ive ever had. I got 2 servings of broccoli and the mash potato, n the ribs were badly burnt so bad that it was worst than chewing gum. The top of my daughter n husband mouth were bruised because the ribs were that burnt, we couldnt eat half of it. When I called they placed me on hold for over 10 minutes and then hung up on me. When I called again, I spoke to the manager he just said hes sorry. I will never be returning to that location again, so disappointed in Applebees at Atlantic mall.
Had an interesting experience from start to finish yesterday July 3 2018 at 625pm The hostess had a grand attitude Ashlee needs to figure out how to speak to customers when ur Representing a corporation or franchise.If you’re working in direct customer service which as you know can be frustrating he really needs to work on your person centered approach and our server Chris apparently drink from the same cup is Ashlee. When we sat down I asked for water we ordered our drinks and food all upon the sit down.. the 2 time he told us we need to let him do his job ... It took him 3 return trips to the table and 4 other table to getting there orders and water before he brought us just our water.This is bad practice all around and at no time did the management even Check on the situation.
My first time at an Applebees. I roughly knew what to expect but this was worse than I thought. I ordered ice tea without ice and got that, but the ice tea was warm. The chicken tacos I got next were not. The service was quick though. Oh and the hostess told me there was no Wi-Fi, but thats what Im using right now.
It is a very disgusting place where there are cockroaches in addition they do not wash the utensils today. I was eating with my partner and under the plate a cockroach came out it is disgusting they should close the place and here I leave the test do not go to that place to eat. Another thing I have the video on my phone as proof.
If youre looking at Applebees you know youre looking for comparatively low prices, and they dont disappoint. Had the Tex-Mex Shrimp Bowl for around 18 bucks. Tasted fresh and they did not hesitate with the shrimp or the guacamole. Service was pretty slow. Numerous waitresses passed by and told me someone would come assist me shortly but to no avail. Finally ordered 15 minutes after sitting down. Food came 10 minutes later. Clean space and environment about what youd expect from a sports bar. 4 stars for the food and prices.
We will never visit this branch again! The staff name Welda was so rude, she just walk away when we ask her something and she just enetertained another customer! We’ve been a loyal customer of this restaurant for so long. The branch in queens mall and jersey garden are both amazing! Excellent food and friendly staff ( very polite!) it’s very disappointing that the staff from Atlantic ave are rude and they covered up each other!
Can I rate 0 star!? Applebees is one the most terrible American restaurants upon worsen management! Bartender asked me if I needed menu but he didnt realize the bar table was dirty thats not good to sit customers until I requested to clean. When I was done to read and put down the menu, I took 15 minutes for waiting no one come to ask me, the bar and dine-in werent that busy. Bartender made me margarita without salt and lime that she never asked me. And the food came out with no silverware by the way. One of couple sit next to me, they got everything and margarita has lime...Im Asian and speak fluent English, the couple are White, hope the companys staff are not racist! The bartender suddenly grabbed my unfinished drink to ask me if I needed the other one and tried to turn around to take my glass away from me, I kept myself polite to say No, Im not finished my drink, and she put it down then asked me if I wanted the check, still has food on my dish...sound rude to urge push me away...I cant see their smile faces, I was still tips them 20%, none to said Goodbye & Thanks, please come again from the host when I walked down out the front door, she probably played phone texting. Food is good but NOT recommend until they adjust the problems!
I was seated and waited over 20min until I walked out. No one even looked at me, offered me a water or anything. It was average busy. The only reason I went here was because I was starving and too lazy to carry everything I bought at Target around with me while I found a decent restaurant. Joke’s on me because I had to do that anyway.
Horrible experience that I shouldnt be surprised about. I ordered an online order to be picked up and literally waited 55 minutes for something that was guaranteed in 30 minutes. When I arrived I was told my order was being bagged as we speak. Took another 23 minutes for it to come out. All the portions were half filled and half the food was already cold. Never in my life could I understand how something that should have been seamless turned into a complete waste of time. I will never eat here again and I recommend others to avoid at all cost. Staff could care less about service.
I was privileged to have a server by the name of heather H. Greet me and seat me. She was very attentive to my needs and she was extremely cautious and safe with the temp screening and utensils. She also was great in suggesting my lunch order. Very patient, very kind. Great service and great waitress. SIGNED C.E.O
This place sucks.The service was bad, and the timing for food was even worse. I didnt even get my food after waiting an hour I just canceled my order and left. Asking the waitress for anything was a hassle. For everyone else at my table, she brought out their food first, they had to wait 10 mins to get their utensils to eat and then she brought out their drinks after waiting another few mins. By the time we finished their food, thats when everyone got their drinks. It made no sense.Would never go again.
So the reason for the one star is, because we walked in the greeter was very professional and had good customer service, he acknowledged us, as he escorted us to our table to be seated. We sat for probably 20- 25 minutes and was not acknowledged by waiter or staff. They were just looking over our table, but not even like walking over to take our order or to ask us if we were being helped. I thought this was very unprofessional and the restaurant was completely empty. Never again will I return here.
If a customer walks in too close to closing time best business practice, tell customers sorry we are closing. We arrived a bit after 10pm according to staff they close at 11pm and we were good according to Google they close at 12am also states “Updated by business 5 days ago.”My party of six was seated steps from the entrance/exit nowhere near the actual dining area. Fine no big deal, tables were pushed together to accommodate us paper menus were provided. No one wiped the tables. Waitress took our order then left. Moments later two out of six orders arrived and one appetizer. For minutes we’re all sitting there with no utensils nothing to eat with. Wasn’t looking toward eating mashed potatoes and steak with our hands. After asking front desk/hostess person for utensils another two orders were brought in addition to second order of appetizers. My mashed potatoes were cold grilled chicken was salty. Four of us were eating waiting on two more orders finally fifth order arrives of course it was wrong asked for steak and mash potatoes was given fries. Five of us eating some already done and my son has yet to get his meal. Waitress asked us everything ok obviously not they completely forgot my son’s order was asked by two different people what he ordered. Asked for ketchup never got it for the first set of people eating was given two ketchup packets for my son, the order they forgot. Overall we were VERY UNSATISFIED with the entire experience. We paid in full and tipped according to the total because we’re that type of people we weren’t going to be grimmie even though we had every reason to. Not coming back to this location. 👎🏽
This was the worse experience we ever had. 30 minutes waiting for a server, another hour to get our food (and it was wrong). I had to get up and ask for the bill and pay in the front since no one was coming. I asked 2 other servers And they said look for your server. NEVER AGAIN
After waiting to be seated for 15min, seemed just about the right time for a server to ask me my order. I had to tell the host to get someone for me. I would never come to this restaurant again. We are going through a pandemic there are not many people dining or able to sit in the dining area so why is the service soooo bad. It should actually be faster since there is not many people to serve.
Between the service and the food its just disappointing to eat here. I know were still in a pandemic but I should still get good customer service. I always have something wrong with my order and I always get someone who doesnt even greet us when they approach the table. I usually dont even find out my servers name until I get the check and in between I always have to wave them down when I need something, they dont come to make sure your order accurate or see if you need anything. Diring my most recent visit, I watched my server begin a conversation with another staff member that lasted at least 10 minutes while I had already asked for water a few minutes prior. The staff typically seems depressed or irritated after getting pass temperature check and the food is either overcooked, undercooked or bland. This Applebees is conveniently placed in the mall and I expected that maybe the previous experience(s) were just one of those off days kind of a situation but I see now that it isnt. Save your time and money and just go to Buffalo Wild Wings or a different location to eat altogether.
The service was awful. The waitress didn’t come to the table for drinks for ten minutes. Didn’t bring the drinks for another ten minutes and this was at noon. There was maybe 5 tables. Everyone we encountered that worked there was rude. I never got my second drink until I ate have my food. And the food wasn’t worth the service.
Bartender/Waiter was cool. Food was cold, I guess the microwave was down... There was an intoxicated patron cursing at staff and harassing customers. No one did anything about it. The Manager just went to the back and stood there... I end up here because of Target and Marshalls in the same mall but some of the younger staff are cold and dismissive, food isnt as good as other Applebees Ive been to. (been to many). If ur starving stop by get an app... If u have time maybe check another spot out.
In from Dallas but I had to ask for a waitress, then she was in slow motion. Got the chicken breast with the mashed potatoes and broccoli-had brown spots on it, was almost cold and chicken was veryovercooked. So disappointed.Table next to me has been vacant with dirty dishes for over 10 min-the place is pretty much vacant. Will never return.
Wait for a table (50 minutes); long wait to be served; we were 3 they gave us 2 plates; the order was wrong (chicken instead of steak) and the food was just warm, not even hot; Will never go back. Cocktails were watery.And there is a big hole in the ceiling, not the best image to eat. A bad experience but it wont happen again because we never going back.
It was great. Wasnt crowded.. They only attend walk ins, which is great. I hardly do not make plans to eat out.The only thing i wish they would just check to see if you needed something once in a while.. Which they didnt. I called the waitress twice. But had the audicity to put parentheses need the tip amont on check and write thank you.. my tip on receipt came close to 11 - 15. So I am sorry, didnt feel like that. I did tip though, just not that much
Only two bathrooms and both not in service, the light in the bathroom too dark like if it was a night club, I could hardly see. The food was very good but too slow, I order a dessert and it took so long that I thought that it was coming from another Applebees restaurant. Sorry, but they need to do something about it.
Ambiance: 4-stars - Eatin Good in the NeighborhoodFood: 3-stars - very standard neighborhood eatin. Tortilla chips not fresh.Drinks: 5-stars - WOW. $5 daiquiris and bahama mamas. Hard to beat. And they make them from scratch each time you order - make sure to tip your servers extra for this because it seems quite labor-intensive and they shouldn’t be penalized for the company’s promotional strategy.Service: 4-stars - good service, a little slow
The staff really made the visit! Our waitress was the sweetest, she made sure our kids food came out fast so they didnt have to wait to long. She was also very informative.I was in the mood to try something new so the waitress gave me a pretty precise list of great new dishes I could try. Every dish was like a cool new twist on what I would normally get which was cool because I didnt want to drift too far from normal
I’ve been to many Applebee’s but this one was the worst. It was very hard to get a waitress, many of them just walked past. My sister and I ordered an appetizer and it came in a smaller amount than usual. The waiter also took so long to give me a refill. I would never come here again.
I recently visited this particular apple bees inside Atlantic terminal in Brooklyn. My first impression was it looked pretty decent, and was spacious also. We didnt wait long to be seated at all.the staff was okay.When me and my wife were seated, we noticed that their was fly bugs flying around in the restaurant. That was not good at all. That is definitely bad for business. The food wasnt bad at all ,it was cooked well & done I had the grilled chicken sandwich with seasoned French fries. But the fly bugs were definitely an issue.Out side of that problem, the atmosphere was upbeat, And the apple bees bar it was rocking. A lot of people over at their at the bar.
Almost 2 hours of waiting in the rain for food that I order online, email stated it would be ready in 25 mins. They were taking all the Uber eats and seemless ect. orders before the online orders.I don’t blame the waitresses I blame the system they have and the cooks.👎🏽
The customer service was slow this day. I was pickingup a blender from Target that day and I decided to stop at Applebees so I did I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and a Henny colada it would have took no more than 10 minutes to make but they decided to take 25 instead and it was a lot of people that were waiting for their orders too so Im guessing there wasnt much staff either way the food and henny colada was delicious but the service was slow.
I will admit even during peak hour my group of 4 friends only waited for 45 min to get a table, that is pretty much the only good thing of this place. The waitresses are simply disrespectful, it almost feels like they are annoyed that we are there. The food unlike the waiting time took over 1 hour for simply 1 cheeseburger and 3 orders of chicken fingers with fries. Once the food arrived the waitress instead of simply putting the plate on the table, threw the plate and had the biggest attitude. Even when I wanted to pay the check they took forever I had to talk to 2 different waitresses to get my check and then wait half an hour to finally sign it. The first time I came was similar and I decided to give this location another chance, not again though.
My steak and eggs were gross. The only thing on my plate that was edible was my eggs. The staff was polite but the manager was not any help at all. Instead of just charging me for my eggs And mimosa I still paid for my meal in full. I would not recommend this location. It also has a strange smell inside this location.
They get a 3 because I feel that our drink issue could have been handled differently. We were seated in a timely manner especially for a Friday. Ordered 2 of the specials for Happy Hour. When I got mine, there was a BIG lipstick stain on the rim of my mug. I alerted our server and she immediately took it to address with the bar. Before she came back my friend decided she didnt want hers so I canceled mine and kept hers. And that was that. No compensation for me being moments from putting my mouth on a dirty mug. My other drink should have automatically been free. The manager was doing several jobs since we sat so I didnt make a big deal but poor business. The food was fine but that put a damper on the meal.
The service was horrible I had to wait a long time for someone to take my order. It seem like the waitress was all over the place just doing they own thing and I also order a well done steak but ended up getting medium rare. The plates were a little dirty and the waitress gave me my food first before giving me my drink, and the place was loud and small. Not only that they need better music choice but the rest of the food I ordered wasn’t bad but I still wouldn’t go back. A couple of hours later I ended up getting sick throwing up multiple times.
Having visited this restaurant the week before and getting really bad service ( the wait for our server was about 15 mins and then for the meal and drinks was almost an hour) there I was in the mall this weekend tired and starving and I decided to try it one more time ( punishment to myself I was sure)!!!BUT I WAS WRONG!!!!! Service was immediate, and our main meal came even before we finished the appetizers completely!!! The servers were courteous and the meal was delicious!!! The most pleasant surprise I had all week!!!I hope they keep up this standard and never revert to what I experienced the previous weekend ( which happened to have been my birthday).
Food was great. The ladies there at opening yesterday were very nice, they made it a very friendly environment. My server was John he was amazing! Attended to all of our needs and checked on us more than once. The environment and staff made me and my friends feel amazing! We will coming here more often!!
Im giving them a 2 because Ive been here multiple times and have had a nice server or two (they are the reason I came back). But for the most part there is always a problem. The last time in particular, I ordered to go before I arrived. It wasnt ready so I sat down at the bar to have a drink. The bartender took a long time to do everything from take my order to taking my payment for my check. No the bar wasnt full and she didnt seem to have any orders backed up. Her attitude was anything but pleasant. My to go order was also wrong (literally every time I go there, there is something wrong with my order). I informed staff and waited for someone to come change it. No one ever did. So I left with the wrong order and wont be going back. They have a good happy hour menu but expect to have below standard service.
B- grade experience! Quick seating, nice atmosphere, service needed work (we had to literally go to the bar ourselves to get our drinks because waitress forgot and only saw her twice on a Monday night at 5:30 pm), the restaurant was at half capacity, drinks were good, food was great, and great location. At least I went with a good friend.
One of the worst experiences that Ive had at a restaurant; hands down.1. We were told that we were given a 30 minute wait time. When it came to 30 minutes the manager yelled at my mother who was simply checking to see how soon were about to go in. Ive never seen a manger yell angrily at any customer in my life. My mother was only asking the time ONCE. On top of this when they did call us in, the manager told our hostess to stop and said we had to wait when there was clearly a table open for us and no other prior reservations in the booking. She dismissed the waitress and threatened to term her.2. The food took insanely long to prepare and it was to the point where I just wanted to start writing this review then and there (but it was extremely hot so I just tried to make the best of it). It was so long, that by the time our food had arrived, everyone around us had eaten, left, and eaten again. It was to the point where the party of five across from us that got here approximately fifteen minutes after us got their food, ate, and left before we even saw our food. It was nightmare.3. The food was way overcharged, I remember adding bacon and cheese to my burger for $1.50+ and there was cheese that barely blanketed the surface and small bacon bits to count for this charge. I can only speak for myself, but they also got my sisters order completely wrong and forgot to make my moms order.However....There are some good takeaways here. There are good employees here, like the waitress who stuck up for us when the manager was being unreasonably rude and vicious. and the décor is very late 90s early 2000 NY Pop culture nostalgic. Otherwise, please dont waste your time or daily calories on this particular Applebees.
Absolute worst Service Ive had in the food business. Everything was wrong a Saturday night. We waited 30 mins to be seated, thats fine. But when we ordered or appetizer, it came wrong. After they brought us the right appetizer they took away our utensils. We then asked our waiter for more. It took another hour for our entree to arrive! At this point we still never received the utensils and my aunt started eating her hot food with her fingers because she was starving at this point. My husband didnt even get the tight order either! They had to remake it but we just took it to go. We called for the Manager and complained about our Service and only deducted 20%. A total of 2 hours of my life and money wasted! Never going back again!
Service was terrible. Server reached over my food while I was eating to grab a plate. I could have easily passed it to her. Food was lukewarm when I got it. My friend ordered a drink and it never came so he had to go to the bar himself and order it. I should have followed my first mind and turned around when I heard someone complaining to management upon first entering. The service used to be much better here but it seems to have declined greatly. No wonder it was half empty which is abnormal for an Applebees in a crowded mall in the middle of a Saturday afternoon.
I came here this Thursday to celebrate my older sisters graduation with my family. Me and my family had to wait for over an hour to get a table. Then, we had to wait for about 15 minutes to order our food. Then, about another 30 minutes to get our appetizer combo and another 30-50 minutes to get our meals. The place is beautiful and clean, but the service sucks and the location should be more huger.
There was a nine minute wait to be seated with only one person ahead of me. The greeter did apologize though for the wait. Basic burger deluxe. The wait person was quite slow and the restaurant was not crowded. The woman who delivered my meal acted as though she could not be bothered and when I asked for mayo she sucked her teeth and never returned. Waited forever for the bill. The bill came out to be $9.50. I handed the server a $20.00 bill and he asked me if I wanted change. I replied That would be nice. The server automatically kept the coin change. I left a buck on the table and got the heck on up out of there, never, ever to patronize that restaurant again.
I was here last night and it was a change in expected customer service. The host was busy and still connected with me and my sister as soon as we walked up.We wanted bar seating so that part was quick. Our bartender was great with assisting us and working at the same time (multitasking team).The food recommendations, blackened tilapia and grilled shrimp, worked for me.The drinks were nice too:-1 white peach sangria-1margaritaThank you Applebee’s Atlantic terminal for making for a great pregame.SB: good looking people like good looking people.. a little shallow.. but also made my night.
This place sucks. We only went there because of a concert we were going to and the guy that was sitting people looked like he could care less. The waitress was actually extremely friendly and nice but took long to serve us. Then when I asked her for the check because the concert was starting, she took a long time to give it to us - about 10 minutes. We missed the first 3 songs.
Food and Service was terrible. Ordered Ribs and got them burnt after waiting 45 minutes in a store that was empty. Friends ordered steak that was red when they ordered well done. When asked if they could cook the steak more waitress gave us an attitude like it wasn’t here problem. Then it took them a half an hour to bring their steak back. I total we spent almost 3 hours there waiting for our food and endured horrendous serves. Would say to not go their if you want to spend your money wisely.
Suitable, fast comfort food. Each table has a kiosk for ordering, paying the bill and playing games. Beware that touching the game icon to see what it was cost $1.99 even though I never played the game. Booth seating was a little low for my liking, but the overall experience was ok.
I came here with a work group and ordered a grilled shrimp bowl. Unfortunately, my colleagues and I orders were mixed up. The manager (ONeil) came over to our table and asked if everything was OK. He then offered to correct both of our orders complimentary. Talk about Excellent customer service!!
One of the better Applebees locations in Brooklyn that I have been to (been to like 4 of them). The staff was actually professional (compared to how extremely ghetto some of their other restaurants staff). Our waitress was super attentive, polite and professional. I was disappointed that they didnt have ice cream to make my drink with. But the food came out good, it was still hot and not over cooked. I know during peak times it can get busy but overall one of the better Applebees in Brooklyn.
Went after school one day with my family. It wasnt too busy. About 2/3 of the seats were full. However we waited 45 minutes for the chicken tenders and fries. Im confused about why this took so long. Our server, a very nice guy didnt think it was necessary to apologize for the long wait. Food was alright.
Please be cautious when using a card (whether debit or credit). We went on a Friday night, it was pretty packed, so I can somewhat understand that the server did not come to our table, and often forgot that we requested her. Either way, I still paid a nice tip (about 40 percent) in cash. I checked my card statement, after leaving the place and noticed they charged me someone else’s meal, but refunded my money right away. Two days later, I’m checking my account, and I was charged three dollars more, on top of what I agreed to pay. To protect yourself, avoid this place. If you choose to spend money there, make sure you keep your receipt and consistently check your banking information.
Staffing was grossly under-staffed and for the staff that were on site they were highly unprofessional and unwelcoming and sloppily dressed. The wait times were unreasonable even when you consider that they were under staffed. They made no effort to ease the restlessness of the waiting customers. There were no attempts to clean the dirty floors or food and napkins. The experience was not at all pleasant.
It doesnt have a waiting area. You have to wait out in the mall hallway until they call you. The waitress wasnt paying attention to our order or writing it down that she got 3 things wrong in our order. My daughter asked for a baked potato and she she got garlic mashed potato. I asked for a medium rare steak with green beans and I got a well done steak with broccoli. It took them more than 20 mins to bring my green beans and they were still frozen when in i bit into it. Plus when she took the broccoli she came back and gave that same plate of broccoli to the table next to ours. Service was just horrible.
I moved to New York a year ago and haven’t had good customer service like I received here. My bartender/waitress hands down was the bomb. Her name is Shuneeza. She was busy and stayed on top of everyone’s orders, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I most definitely will be back because of her. Thanks again for the great service she provided.
Well below average. Serve was slow. Waitress was just ok. Not friendly. Food was just ok. Barely above fast food standards. Fries were cold. Took a very long time to get to the table. Def. Spent more time waiting for the waitress to appear, for the food, for the bill etc than necessary. If you have options, choose somewhere else.
The steak was super hard to chew even we ordered medium well, felt like over cooked and burnt. Some waitress were nice and polite , some were chatting and laughing, not quite a good experience. And nobody told us they charge for the Presto Game, $1.99! The two stars are given to drinks.
I dont know but they are not very clean. The table is sticky. I had a french fry in my lemon from I guess a previous guest, that I was suppose to be used for drinking water to drink. The knife was not clean. The steam broccoli is not trimmed off so you are eating all the black parts that should have been cut off. The garlic string beans taste like if they wash in detergent. The breakfast is disgusting. The toast is not toasted. I think they can do much better!
Disappointing experience. My boyfriend took my 11 yr old daughter and I here to eat after her talent show. We were seated after a half hour wait... not bad. After they rushed us to order, they brought our orders piecemeal. My daughter’s order was first. When she was finished, they brought my tiny portion over... no problem. My boyfriend never received his meal. We waited and waited. Apology after apology, they served parties that were seated after us. After an hour and change, he still hadn’t received his order. We got fed up and left. This was definitely a first. It was upsetting because Applebees was always my daughter’s first pick to celebrate.
We had a waitress who seemed fairly new. She took our order after about us sitting there for about 15 mins. She came back to our table about 4 times to confirm our order. The food was mediocre at best. The waitress even forgot one of our orders which came about 10 mins later. The mediun rare small steak was chewy and the ribs were ok. Nothing to write home about or recommend to a friend. We wont be back any time soon.
Honestly, its Applebees. If youve been in one, you kinda know what to expect. The food wont win any awards, but its edible and relatively cheap (for that neighborhood at least.) My main issues have been with the service; its impossible to get in and out of there for lunch in less than an hour. Part of that is the inattentiveness of the servers, part is the lengthy wait for the food to be prepared. My last time here I seriously considered walking out because my nachos took nearly 20 minutes to get to me. Ill probably be back again because its close to my job, but itll never be my first (or second, or third) option for lunch.
DO NOT BOTHER!!! Went there yesterday with husband and son.... our waitress took for ever to get to our table. We ordered our food. 10 minutes later plates just get thrown on our table. And were left for about 5 minutes. We did not touch them as we knew it wasnt our order. The waitress sees it and says this isnt yours and walks it to ANOTHER TABLE!!!!! On top of that gave us someone else drink. Our food was cold. My steak which was a joke and was not cooked how I wanted. We got charged for 2 items we did not order and was told that its part of Applebees policy to charge us for items we didnt order nor want.... this place is ghetto. The workers are nice but not attentive at all. We had 1 drink (water) we didnt get asked at any point in time for a refill.my 4 year old son cried from being so thirsty and everyone I tried to get just rolls their eyes at me. But our waitress made sure to circle the tip example on the check that we waited 1/2 hour for.... Im disgusted and pissed I spent my hard earned money in an establishment that wasnt even worth a penny from my pocket!
Youre better off going to the dessert for 90 days to starve then getting decent service here. I went with my sister hoping to eat lunch and sat down for almost 20 mins. No one came to our table. We spoke to one of the hostess twice who told us someone would come. Well we didnt stay any longer to find out.
I get that its packed but why was my party the only ones that got seated into the back door secluded area? We were there for over an hour and no one else got seated there. Maybe because were asian so they dont think well complain? I normally would not mind the quiet but it also means no table service and that you get forgotten. 20 boneless chickens came in 30 mins, without our onion rings. Had to wait another 30 mins just for onion rings that didnt come with the honey bbq sauce it was supposed to come with. Came for the 25 cent boneless chicken that tasted 25 cents. Would not come again.
I went with my family to Applebee’s on November fifth. They are very understaffed in waiters but they still got the job done. My waiter, Jonathan, was very effective and helped very much under pressure. Jonathan was assisting so many tables and still got our food to our table in a reasonable time. He apologized about the delay was very warm and welcoming to us.
If I could give this place no stars, I would! First off, the greeter was very unpleasant and had an attitude when my girlfriend and I asked to be seated. Our table had no utensils to eat with. Our waitress started off with ok service and then became very negligent and also had a attitude. I had to go straight to the bar for a glass of water and take the utensils and napkins from another table. Worst service EVER!!! no one in this establishment was friendly at all and I just wanted to finish my food, pay my bill, and get out of there. This by far has been the WORST service Ive ever gotten from a franchise in my life.
I’m giving Applebee’s 1 Star. I’m originally from Brooklyn living in California. I visit and have to debate with my server because I got my Corona faster than her. Hm? Faster than her? YES! Her service was slow. I did not rush her, I did not complain until she said I had to pay for a Corona she brung 20 minutes after mine. I don’t under why she was so busy. I notice her section. How many tables she had. Not much. It’s not a huge establishment. So I paid anyway. Because I’m not the type of guy. Left no tip. When I seen her face when we sat, she wasn’t in the best mood. It’s ridiculous you have to be served by people that brings their personal problems to work. Completely unprofessional.
Deserves less than a star, negative 5 stars. I dont know which was worse the bacon cheddar burger or the steak. This was a take out order, the burger was hard, dry & taste free. The two slivers of onion was the only flavor, the steak was about the size of a white castle burger, too bad I didnt go there. I cant believe a burger from any commercial fast food place wouldve been better than this. And the wait for this horrible food makes the experience even worse. I havent been to this Applebees in over three years& now I remember why i havent returned. Shame on you Applebees, shame!!!
Prefacing this Review with the fact that I used to be a server in both fine dining and casual restaurants.Literally one of the worst dining experiences ever. Went here with my daughter. The server lacked so much attentiveness that I ended up putting the majority of my order in the kiosk myself. Tables were dirty. the bathroom was Horrendous.Food was eh. Asked for a medium steak it was bloody inside. I can tolerate this so I didnt send it back. Dont try the mac and cheeseMashed potatoes were fine.I ordered a glass of wine and the waitress slammed the glass down haphazardly and some of it spilled out. The host who also seemed to be a manager was weirdly aggressive with trying to make friends with my child.I tipped the bare minimum (15%) out of respect for the industry but if I didnt have a conciense I would have left nothing.
So my girlfriend and I visited this place for dinner tonight and the whole experience was terrible. Applebees standards for food and service has dropped drastically and this is a great example.The hostess told us our table was ready when it wasnt and was still being cleaned. I asked for different seating arrangement and she responded I would have to wait when clearly there were plenty of open tables. Finally we sat down, the server was pleasant but the food took upto an hour to get to us. The buffalo wings were half cold. I ordered the bourbon street chicken + shrimp and when it finally arrived almost everything on the plate was burned and the chicken was very dry. Dont spend a dime or visit this place. I am NEVER going to another Applebees again!
Applebees is a chain restaurant and as such the food doesnt differ from location to location. Theenu is fairly varied so there are choices for many palates at any Applebees. The key at the different locations is the service and the service here was good. Our waitress for a party of 7 was attentive and accurate. She was also polite and conversational without being overly invasive. We enjoyed this Applebees location. The Bourbon chicken and shrimp is delicious!
The restaurant was understaffed and our waitress was very distracted because of it. I ordered a seltzer and I was brought a diet coke twice. My boyfriend ordered a brunch burger with broccoli instead of fries, but the orders came out with fries and I had to ask for the side of broccoli separately. We also were there almost 3 hours and only got drink refills once even though we asked multiple times. Very poorly managed.
This place is a hit or miss. When you request that they cook your steak or burger to a medium well the food taste great. However, half of the time they will over cook your food to the point that the food is very dry. Customer service is slow so if you are in a rush dont come to this place.
What was supposed to be a wonderful birthday celebration for my Grand daughter, turned out to be a birthday from hell. Will never take my family back to Applebees ever again. The food was served in increments. 3 plates came out, then 2 plates, the other 5 plates never came. Then we had to call on the manager because not only did the server screw up the entire order but she had an attitude. Done with Applebees.
I don’t know how the steps of service works here, sat at the bar...waited at least 7mins to be greeted.Bar nor service was not busy with 2 bartenders.5mins to receive my beerAnd app order was forgotten and retaken 25min after.Meanwhile, dirty plates, napkins and glassware are just part of decor i guess.
The food was great. No problem there. The service awful. I had two waitresses the first one didnt even greet us nicely. Second one was ok but didnt offer us water, no utensils to eat. Us ourselves had to get up and steal some utentils from the table next to us. Not really steal but u get the point. My boo had to get up and get us water from the bar. No attentiveness, no hey do u need ANYTHING? Just because you are closing soon doesnt mean u shouldnt do your job. Fix ya attitudes. THANKS
Great experience the food was great i was hungry and in pain they were a bit crowded but the Young Man who seated us said no worries we will make room. they really out did theirselves. It was awesome service. I just left the Livingston area ihop the lady said it be 5 min wait i looked over the balcony to the empty establishment i asked can we sit in the top level she refused us so this is how we ended up here ill take my money to people with great vibes and give you that bang for your buck.
You guys food is very cold & my Togo box was less fries than my kids menu. This company is BAD FOR BUSINESS. They should either hire my old grandmother or fire a third of their staff. Please do not attend to this Applebee’s. Thank you very much.. and have a great day.
A computer glitch caused major delay in receiving food. I arrived at this Applebees when it wasnt crowded and inconveniently for me, their register system went down so orders were not being transmitted to the kitchen. After the very nice waiter explained this (30 minutes later), my friend and I were understanding but then waiting for the bill for over 20 minutes and the inability to pay with our credit cards left us rushing to the airport for a flight. I instructed the waiter to simply write down our 2 burgers on a piece of paper so we could pay cash and leave. He comped my drink and was very apologetic but this is where communication is key. A manager should have made rounds to talk to customers waiting at length for burgers and fries so they wouldnt take frustrations out on the wait staff. If not for my tasty burger, Id given a 2 rating.
I came into the restaurant with my 4 year old son wait was long it’s a Saturday which is fine. Once we are seated no one acknowledges us and after waiting 15 mins I finally addressed the issue and I got a nast attitude from the server. I addressed it to the “manager” and he told me he will not serve us because I was rude. To me I was treated horrible because I wasn’t “black” I would never recommend someone to come here. My son was hungry and we were kicked out WORST APPLEBEES EVER.
This is an OK Applebees location. Its inside the Atlantic Terminal mall, so its good if youve been shopping and need some food or drinks. The service was good. But its also pretty small and the physical location is a bit run-down, so I wouldnt exactly make it a destination. 3 out of 5 stars is a pretty good summation, its still decent.
My server Joshua was great, but the food was horrible. The wings was fried to hard and the chicken tacos had very little chicken in them. The best apple bees in Brooklyn if you want great food is at gateway mall hands down. The rest of them in Brooklyn sucks i been to all them.
I had a really bad experience Wednesday night. I got there around 9:50PM. There was no host so I wanted to be seated for like 10 minutes until I noticed the manager and two more guys (either security guards or bussers/servers) just hanging behind the bar. I looked at them, purposely to see if one would approach me and seat me. Didn’t happen. Waited two more minutes till I waved at them like “hello I’m waiting”, then the manager called the hostess.Ok...Me and my boyfriend were seated and like five minutes later the server came introduce himself.We had two drinks, which arrived in a smaller glass than the signature big glasses they advertise. By the time the appetizers were servers, we had finished our drinks but had no water on our table.The entrees were a joke. My steak was literally the size of a nugget. I asked for mayonnaise and they didn’t have. My boyfriends Mac and cheese didn’t come with the sauce that was advertised with, was missing two chicken tenders also.Overall, a crappy experience. Won’t be coming back at all.
The little kiosk thing that lets you order on your own is more helpful and attentive than the waitstaff, but people dont exactly go to Applebees for the five-star service anyway. To be honest, I love their appetizers. (I could live off of their boneless wings and spinach dip.) Its the only reason I go - which is lucky, because by the time your appetizers come out, youve lost all hope of ever seeing a main course. Im talking up to an hour of waiting for three plates of appetizers when the restaurant is inly half-full. Theyre obviously horribly understaffed in both the front and back of house.

The wait staff was very kind, unfortunately thats where my praise for this particular location ends. For 20.99 my girlfriend and I got a choose 2 entree and two appetizer combo that took forever to come out the kitchen and when it did the portions were lackluster and the temperature lukewarm. I paid 55 in total amd tipped the wait staff cause thats not their fault but I left with the sense of confusion wondering what I had just paid for. Ate at dallas bbq two days later and for the same price was given too much food. Save your money, eat elsewhere.
Two stars because the food came quickly. Our hostess was friendly enough but the server had me wondering if we were on a hidden camera show. No greeting us, I had to wave him over from the service station where he was standing idly and he seemed irritated that we were there. Totally uncalled for. I understand its Applebees and am not expecting backflips and small talk from the staff but for goodness sakes.
Its a hit or miss with this place. Some of the Bartender takes a very long time to acknowledge you. Then theyll give you a menu and take forever to come back to get your order. I dont think I should have to wait more then 15mins to order a watered down drink, Ive learn to just order beer!
Why do waiters work there if they just talk to each other and ignore customers? Was sitting at bar and had to wait 10 minutes for two waiters to stop chatting before offering a menu. Only two other customers at bar. There were dirty plates not taken away and counter never wiped when customer left. Annoying!
Every time we come to the Applebee’s the food is dry, over cooked, cold and just thrown on the plate. The presentation is always terrible. Most of the time it taste worse than it looks.... The sangria isn’t even watered down it’s just loaded with sugar mixer to cover up the lack of actual wine and alcohol. I ordered a $2 Blue Moon because that’s their promo going on but they had no Blue Moon at 530pm. Their soda was flat, requested a new one never got it. Our appetizer plate sat their the entire meal. Won’t be visiting again.
Mothers day my daughter and I went for dinner. The service was absolutely horrible. We had to request silverware, plates then waited at least 45 minutes for our food. My daughter ordered the macaroni and cheese. It did not look edible. Some of the elbow macaroni was dried not in the sauce. It looked as though someone threw shredded cheese on top, broke a bacon strip in half on her plate. Frustrated I asked to speak to the manager. Cindy a poorly trained manager. She said it was supposed to look that way. Then said I can make it the way you want it but tried to convince me that plate was suitable for eating. She then kept accusing me of being mad and using very aggressive hand gestures which I addressed to her. In addition to her negative body language. She told me that she was 40 years old and a mother too after I mentioned my daughter was trying to provide a nice time. Being 8 years older I seen no relevance in her comment and she was more interested in getting the last word. This made my daughter and Iose our appetite. She ended up not charging us. Clearly she is not equipped to deal with customers in a high stress scenario and attempted to insult my intelligence. Worst Applebee experience.
Im not usually a fan of chain restaurants. Ive tried this place in particular couple of times for the sake of the 2 for $20 or 2 for $26 combo meals. However, each time I have been here there is always at least 1-2 dishes that disappoint. The hostess is normally nice for the 2 minute interaction you have prior to being seated. The wait staff tends to forget to check on you. Or maybe thats just their wait style. Either way, a reminder why I stay away from chain restaurants.
Was nice waiter checked on us a lot n made sure my niece got her birthday song. I dont have anything against same sex couples but i dont want my 5yo niece asking me why 2 girls are kissing and/or explaining that. Like Im not saying dont come out but maybe they can sit with other adults not children.
I love this Applebee’s especially now that my favorite server from the one in Coney Island has moved to this location. It encourages me to come to this Applebee’s more. Thank you Nabina and thank you the managing staff that decided to move her closer to me. This Applebee’s is always busy but I never have to wait long and it’s food is always good. Thank you again!
Horrible . They wasn’t prepared for happy hour with the proper ingredients, we ask if they can honor the $7 drink for $5 since is not our fault they don’t have what’s needed , and manager didn’t even acknowledged us . Waitress drop water on the table and walked away . The waitress Kristian send us to Buffalo Wild Wings to get drinks since they didn’t have it 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️.. will never come here . Second Applebee’s that has horrible customer service .. -1 star should be allow . Damian did try to fix the issue but I was too late
Dont bother to get a drink at the bar on Tuesdays when a person named Jason is at the helm. (2-2:30) Customers were disgruntled before I sat down and now I know why... I ordered a perfect margarita that was beyond sweet that I couldnt finish the second serving. I even tipped him 3 dollars ontop of the drink charge since this place has never failed me for a quick afternoon drink. It has now.... I will never pre-tip a bartender ever again thanks to Jason.
This was the worst experience I ever had, first the forks and knife they were dirty and we asked 3 times for the waiter change them, I asked for a second drink and the bad hadnt Jack to get my drink, by the time I was finishing, there was a roach running in the table I call the waiter and she called the manager, its not possible that a restaurant like this have this issues with food and with bugs, its unacceptable. I was surprised to see all the negative reviews here. Our first visit at Atlantic terminal Applebees was nothing but delightful. No long wait, courteous service, our waiter was really sweet and helpful, his name is Lareik. Food was good, we did not wait for food long. Other waiters and people who worked there were nice and helped with all of our requests, considering that there were 10 of us including 4 young and vey active children. We will definitely come back.
Food was under cooked was cold. My waiter never came back to check on me, had to ask another staff member for my bill. Even after expressing that food wasnt edible they still gave me a bill for my half a drink I had. No manager or offerings to get something different.
Ordered a 6 oz steak well done. The first one was cold and med well, the second was hot but still medium well done. And the ceasar salad was VERY dry. I dont know what happened to that place it was good before. I had to take my 6oz Steak it home and had to cook it myself.Ill never go back to that Applebees.Service was good. Food sucked horribly!I would tell people to stay away. This happened tonight 2/22/18. After reading all the one or 2 star comments you would think they would have fixed the issues. The original plan was to go to Buffalo Wild Wings but, They would not let us in because no one in my group was 18 or over so we had to switch to applebees. While we were there we had a nasty server. She had an attitude the whole time and gave us plastic forks to use. Now this was unprofessional. There was a whole bunch of clean metal forks in our vision but she decided to give us the bare minimum. Me and another one of my friends ordered virgin strawberry daiquiris and they made it totally incorrect. I prefer BBQ’S over this. Don’t even get me started on the food. My shrimp in my shrimp Alfredo was nice but, the noodles were not even cooked properly. They were still hard. They also put too much black pepper on EVERYTHING. The chef probably really likes black pepper. I would never dine at the Applebee’s in the Atlantic terminal ever again
With the exception of my waiter (thankfully) most staff was very unprofessional(ignoring me and others). Food and drinks took forever (20 min avg ticket time) even though the place was half full. Ordered a whiskey smash and got a drop of whiskey to a gallon of water, yes WATER the ice was all but melted when I got it(took 15+ min). Could not taste lemon or mint either. Manager had no idea what he was doing and tried to cover for the incompetence of the employees and himself. Food quality was fine and standard as with most Applebees. However, the service knocked it down to an all-time low.
I dont do Applebees but I was impressed with their food. I had a classic burger which I jooged with their herb garlic butter because the buns were hard as rocks and had no condiments. The meat was cooked as requested. My Patron Tequila was delicious however was given to me in a Martini glass had no salt or extra citrus garnish. They were short in staff which is a disaster in such a populated location an it being the holiday season. Out server Dante was nice and did his best under the circumstances.

Hated it...they left us waiting for a seat at the bar .said we could order from bar never came hours later finally got a seat left us sitting there we placed the order at the bar so I asked they had no order we hungry its hot and smell like funky feet.the manager came out looking and smelling like he had a quickie. Was no help didnt even bring us water and put us out ..awful

2021-12-28I come here once in a blue when I’m at the mall and need a bite to eat. Every time I come here, there is always a problem. The waitresses are unbothered, so quick to finish a shift and always seem to forget to bring water, napkins and utensils. My French fries were horrible (Applebee’s have bad French fries anyways) and they tasted old and hard. I always,ALWAYS have to tell an employee that there’s no soap in the bathroom. These bathrooms need to be inspected, refilled and cleaned every few hours, what is going on here? I think I’ll have to cross this location off and never return here again. FYI, there’s a waitress there that rushed me and my friend the last time and asked for us to pay in the middle of us eating because she gets off soon. I’VE NEVER HEARD OF THAT IN MY LIFE. Ridiculous, they don’t deserve any tips.

2022-03-26Blahhh. Went here to kill some time while we waited to see Sebastian Maniscalco at Barclays. (Awesome comedian, very funny) anyways, the host was friendly told us wait was 15 minutes but that turned into like 40 minutes. They were obviously under staffed. We finally got a seat at the bar. Ordered $5 happy hour margaritas, they were decent and did the job. Ordered the appetizer combo and it was mehh honestly, mozzarella sticks cold, boneless wings meeh. Honestly not a big fan or apple bees, the artichoke dip was probably the best thing. I wouldnt go back here unless I absolutely needed to.

2022-03-18I must say I am being generous with the one star. This by far was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a waiter and I have had countless dining experiences in my life. My husband and I decided to grab a bite before a game we were attending across the street at the Barclay. Upon arrival we decided to sit at the bar because we knew we wouldn’t be here long. Terrible mistake. It appeared that we were invisible the first 15 mins until a waiter showed up and my husband asked if we could order. This waiter seemed beyond bothered and showed no willingness at all to assist. When he did return to the table he stood there and said nothing . We still don’t know his name. We told him what we wanted to eat he nodded and walked away. I assumed he was having a bad day until 2 more patrons walked in. When the Caucasian gentleman sat at his table this waiter seemed to come to life. He greeted him, took his order, asked him how he wanted his burger and brought him water and his drink right away. The woman that came in, African American, like us and the waiter himself , she sat down and was ignored like us.. In fact the waiter sent someone else over , after several minutes , to assist her. Upon leaving we were given more attitude because he was having trouble with the register. IDidn’t want to make a scene at the restaurant and we were on our way to a game. I did take the time to call the restaurant during halftime to share myExperience with aManager. She was very apologetic and I appreciated that but I do think this waiter’s nasty and non concerning demeanor will be reason enough for us to not patronize this location again. He does not need to be In a position that involves interactions with people. Very very unpleasant person!

2022-06-06The service is ASTOUNDINGLY poor.We sat at the bar for a good 10 minutes without being acknowledged. The bartender glanced at us once or twice between his conversations with other staff; this at a bar with only 7 other customers. He couldnt possibly have missed us as Im a solid 64 and there were no other customers on either side of us. When we told a manager about it, he said,Give him a couple of minutes.We answered,Hes already had his minutes., and walked out.Both my wife and I have been in the restaurant business for most of our lives, and have never seen such a lack of professionalism in service personnel.We realize that our bartender was also acting as service bar, but the house wasnt at all busy, and a simple Be with you in a minute would have been appreciated.We wonder if their staff receives any training before being put on the floor.If any server in my restaurant showed such complete indifference towards a customer, Id have fired them on the spot. This shop must survive only because of its location in a large mall near the Barclay Center. I guess corporate management doesnt care if most customers there are tourists wholl never return anyway.

2022-06-20Had a terrible time here and regret picking this place for dinner. service was incredibly slow and non receptive. mind you we sat down for 30 minutes before we finally got a server to take our order. when she took our order she left all the menus splattered on our table, didn’t bring us any plates or utensils. appetizers came 40 minutes after ordering, meaning we were there for over an hour before we had received any food. when appetizers came no utensils or plates were given and when we asked for them, many of them were dusty, or had food stuck to it. we were all ready to leave after 20 minutes without entrees and they finally came but they were cold. some of the portions were just sad. overall we just disliked everything about the experience from when we sat down. we eventually complained to the manager who comped our bill by 40% but honestly wasn’t enough for a totally ruined evening out with friends.

2022-04-28I’ve repeatedly given this Applebees a chance. Every time we get slow service and it’s never good. Today wasn’t even busy but our table kept getting skipped. She went from table to table and kept skipping ours. I don’t know how long we sat there before finally getting a menu. Asked for the bill because we had plans to meet someone. Watched her do everything except print our bill so we could leave. I completely understand being busy. We’ve been there when it’s busy and got better service than we did today. She was too busy talking to her friends to help us.

2022-06-11This place needs to be shut down immediately. When we got here, it took 23 minutes for the waiter to speak to us. We asked for lemon water, it took them 12 mins. The floor is very dirty. One of the employees dropped a cup of sauce and didnt even bother picking it up. The staff doesnt believe in hairnets nor gloves. Half of the staff doesnt wear a mask. The bathroom was disgustingly dirty with no paper towel in the dispenser. My girlfriend ordered a drink (Rum Punch) and ended up waiting 29 mins. When she got the drink, it tasted like medicine with barely any alcohol. Mind you... she barely drinks alcohol. We ended up leaving. You would think that a restaurant next to the Barclays Center would have 4-5star customer service. We eaze dropped on a convo, and heard that someone was stealing drinks (I guess thats why my girlfriends drink was late). In top of that, we literally saw the bartender just walk off. Ill be contacting the manager. I love Applebees, but this specific location made me not want to eat at any Applebees in Brooklyn again. Dont come here.
