The food is delicious but the waitress needed to pay more attention. My bf ordered a hamburger with onion rings instead of fries. It came with fries. He wanted bbq wings. She brought him buffalo. He wanted another soda. It took her at least 10 minutes to bring it and its not like the place was crowded. The only thing about the restaurant itself was that as soon as the heat would stop blowing, we would be sitting there cold for at least 5 minutes.
I made an online order for pickup inside. The pickup time was for 6:19 I arrived at about 6:30. When I got inside there were two women behind the bar. One was busy it looked like she was a new hire and the other woman was making drinks right in front of me. I was never acknowledged by her. She avoided eye contact. I stood there for about 5 minutes before the other woman was done with what she was doing then I got her attention. It is unacceptable to ignore customers, a simple someone will be right with you would have been the professional thing to do.
Food was presented well but was cold. Ordered dine in as well as Togo. Togo order did not have appetizers in bag. We did not get any napkins until we were done eating despite asking 4 different servers. Server got mad at 10% tip and slapped receipts (not requested) on table and nastily asked what the problem was. Worst service in a long time.
Our host and waitress was so friendly:) Food was hot and fresh, I don’t recall the name of our waitress and but she was short with black hair, Was always back to get us refills, and our hosts name was sky and he was so friendly and accommodating to where we wanted to sit
Craving their quesadilla burger. Ordered online had an issue with the pick up time, ok I get it no big deal. Manager gave me 10% off. Only to get home and open my container and I could have called this burger by its name and it would have answered me. Bloody meat when I asked for very well done no pink! I emailed Applebees and to this day no response. My dog ate good that night!
Where to begin. Stopped here for lunch and walked inside and there were about 16 guests. Was told there was a 10 minute wait because they were short staffed. After sitting down we waited another 20 minutes for the miserable waitress to come over and take our order. When the food finally arrived, it was sub par if that . My wife had the overpriced chicken and shrimp. The chicken was small and dried out. The shrimp looked like they were from a cup of Ramen Noodles and had no flavor. She couldnt even finish the meal because the potatoes had a weird taste. My daughters chicken fingers were tiny and were obviously freezer burned. They gave her about 2 teaspoons worth of honey mustard sauce. I tried the whiskey bacon burger and asked for it pink (because the chefs dont know how to cook burgers properly so they came up with that genius cooking temp) and it wasnt pink. It was charred and over well done. When we asked for salt and pepper, the person who brought our food out (not our waitress) was not pleased about getting them. Last time I checked, thats your job. The service was horrible, the food was horrible and the atmosphere was horrible. $62 bucks down the drain. They should really think about renaming it Crapplebees because thats all it is.
People arriving after we did were seated before we were. One chicken dinner was not cooked enough and waitress took forever to check on our meals. Prices were reasonable and my meal was very good. Appetizer was good and came out quickly. Lack of help was evident. Table next to us received appetizers quickly, but there was a problem. They asked twice for the waitress, but she didnt appear until after the party left the restaurant.
I have found this Applebees to be hit or miss. Sometimes it was pretty good. Other times it leaves a lot to be desired. But mostly it has been OK. I do not go all that often. But I have found it better in the off hours since obviously there is less customers.I find this location to be decently clean. I also tend to like the style of decorating they have used over the years. It makes for a fairly comfortable atmosphere.I do not normally have alcohol when at Applebees , so I will not comment on that.The food is mostly good. But as I said at the beginning, once in a while, its not so great. It could just be a bad day. But it is what it is.
Honestly the drinks were really good and the food was really bad. I mean it was edible, but my chicken Alfredo tasted right out of the box and the chicken was super dry. We got out food and still hadnt been served silverware nor napkins. The bartender was more help than our actual waitress. If you there, go for the bar and not so much the food.
I have been a-salt-ed.The only pleasant part of this experience was the attentiveness of the worker at the curb side pick up.The food was poor. The spinach artichoke dip and chips were heavily salty. Additionally, the rice was overcooked and under seasoned. The worst offense was that both Fiesta Lime Chickens were not fully cooked.Health hazard. Even with to-go orders, food needs to be cooked safely for human consumption.
The food was decent. I ordered the fajita burgers, fried cheese for appetizer, and chicken wonton tacos and I loved all. I also ordered desert but I wasnt happy finding a piece of plastic next to the lava cake... And it wasnt hot either like Chilis does it when the fudge pours out once you slice it open.I also didnt like was that the lighting was very dim on the tables. I ordered fries which were almost cold and stale. I asked for a new batch of fresh fries and I received more of the same stale fries, just heated up and more saltier. In my past, Ive worked in fast food restaurants to know whether fries are freshly fried/new versus old stale fries 😂Save your money and go to Chilis or any other restaurant in Middletown instead.
Let’s start with I’m pregnant, I came here for lunch my waitress was great really nice , didn’t get her name. But I guess it was a shift change and we were literally being rushed out of our table because MARRISA wanted her tables clean my poor waitress was rushing us for her and I feel like it just was not fair , rushed us so she can seat people as if we weren’t paying customers sitting down eating…. Def not coming back to this location idc about a shift change you don’t rush people out because you need your table .
Fries were soggy and steak and burger way overcooked. No way was steak meal worth what we paid for it. Im not sure if its because of COVID or because they are short staffed but the restaurant was only a quarter full and they were having people wait half an hour to be seated. Waitress was friendly but it took her a long time between check ins with our table and I think the food must have sat under a warmer for a while before she got it to us. May not have been her fault they may just be understaffed. Spinach dip was delicious.
Went their tonight! Took an hour toGet our food! Waitress never came to check on us! We asked the hostess to please get our waitress and she says ok and walks right passed her and doesn’t tell her anything! So our food comes out and it’s horrible and nasty! It was left sitting and was never brought out to us! Asked to speak to a manager. The waitress says I am gonna go get her! Comes back with our bill and says the manager discounted your bill! Like what? What kind of manager do you have here! Only takes $11 off of our bill! Me and my husband didn’t even eat one bite of the food! Horrible service all the wAy around!
We ended up at this applebees when the intended restaurant was full. I am so glad we did. We had a decently large party including children. Our waitress was on point and friendly. All of our meals were correct and, more importantly, tasted great! The Boneless wings got rave reviews from the table, The kids chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks were the best ever, and my Fiesta lime chicken was delicious along with my frozen margarita.🍹 we will be back for sure.
Very slow service. Ordered for pick up, I specifically asked how long she told me 10-15 that it should be real quick. Got there and was told by a gentleman they were bagging my stuff now. Then someone else came out asking my name again and then proceeded to come out and ask if my order could be under a different name. Then a few minutes later told me it should be another 5 minutes. Now were going on 30 minutes and still waiting for my food. And it was a very small order. Then she came out with food and couldnt ring me up bc her computer froze and she cant try to log into the other one. I asked if someone else can ring me up and was told no its her job to do so.
We go to Applebees a couple of times a month because my kids love the food and due to our temporary housing situation. I must say service is excellent. They are always welcoming, very organized and the wait staff are super friendly. Not to include food is great. They are also definitely following COVID guidelines. They have dividers at each table and if busy they take your number and tell you to wait in the car. And when exiting you have to use there back door entrance. Love coming here and will keep coming.
First time trying to go to this Applebees and upon first impressions it wasnt great. The hostess was absolutely rude for no apparent reason and didnt care to put down the right name for the wait. Didnt bother waiting the alotted time to be seated. My family/party of four just left. We will never try to return to this location. They always say first impressions are what attracts you to the places. Well, this surely didnt. Im not sure if she was having an off day but being in this industry you dont want to turn away customers when you need to earn a paycheck.
Well I know due to covid. It is hard to keep people working. So with that said. The service was slow cause our waitress was the bartender. The food was good. But the service was slow due to the restaurant being short staffed like everyone else. So overall it was a 3 out 5 for me.
I went to this place with a party of 4, expecting great service and cleanliness especially during covid. The table we had was sticky on one side. Garbage sat on the floor for over an hour, and I watched the hostess and multiple waitresses walk over it just ignoring it. We didnt see our actual waitress until we ordered and recieved our food. Then we didnt see her again for the evening. But, lets start with the food. We waited just under an hour for two orders of chicken tenders, a burger, and a chicken and shrimp dish. The chicken was fatty, the tenders were cold and the burger was ok. My friend spilled a drink and one waitress helped by bringing a garbage can over to throw the paper towels away in. But, no one took it away afterwards and the hostess actually used it and left it by us. All in all I will say stay away and try elsewhere. Would NOT recommend.
I will never come to this restaurant again. they always look understaffed I actually counted all the servers and there was only 2 maybe 3. Very messy. Food was all under the tables it was nasty. Manager Ray seemed like a nice guy. But I would never eat here again my food was colder than it is in January
My last visit here was the worst of any restaurant anywhere. I felt more like a mark with a target on my back than a valued customer based on the service I received or lack of... Save yourself some grief and go elsewhere as there are many great restaurants minutes away from this poor tired excuse.
Due to the current situation, you must wear your mask anytime you leave your table. Bar is open but you have a partition every two seats. Food was tasty and the portions are large. Server was attentive and got our order right. Restaurant was cleaned and has a large parking lot.
I received a gift card for Applebees and he and I decided to try them out. We had the steak. Not prepared the way we ordered. Had to go back to the kitchen. The food was just barely passable. The bottom of the dishes felt gritty and greasy. Only noticed this because I had to switch our dinners as the server gave us the wrong plates. The service was extremely slow. Will not go back again even with a gift card. I do not recommend anyone to eat here. 1 star because it is not possible to give negative stars.
I am very disappointed with my order. I placed an order for delivery and my order was incomplete. When I called and spoke to a manager I was told all they could give me is a credit and they will not refund me the difference. This is unacceptable! As the manager stated this was their mistake and I should receive the difference to my card. I feel bad because I will no longer request delivery as and this will affect Door Dash Drivers.
The service was horrible ! Our food arrived, but our silverware and napkins did not. We searched for our invisible waitress while watching our food get cold. It took a long time to get our food in the first place. The glass of water I requested didnt arrive at all. We had to ask 2×. We actually enjoyed the food, but would not return to this restaurant, because it was overall, a frustrating experience. There were only three tables occupied, so there was no reason to be overwhelmed. As I made my way to the restroom, I noticed that most of the empty tables were dirty. In the restroom I found my waitress socializing. I watched the man at the table near ours get up three times to get items the waitress should have brought to him. I suggest much more employee training and supervision. There plenty of restaurants in Middletown that provide a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, this is not one of them.
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but since covid-19 hit, this went downhill really quick. They took a lot of my favorite foods off the menu, nachos and fajitas for starters. The bowls came back, but then they took back a couple of them, leaving the spiciest of the three there. Not to mention, the quality of the food has gone down. The pretzels were way too salty and mozzarella sticks tasted like they were right from the box. I dont think Ill be coming back here for quite a while. I guess you just have to say goodbye to some things.
I have to revise my 5 star review after several disappointing visits to this Applebees. Several times our utensils were very dirty and tonight after 3 tries to get clean ones, we gave up. This has happened several times recently leading to the reduction of stars. Also, tonight for the first time I was charged for ice in my drink. Sure the manager came out to look the bill but, the charge for ice was never removed nor was there an apology for receiving dirty utensils 3 times in the same visit. There was also food chunks where we were sitting. Disgusting! I recommend another restaurant, any other restaurant.
Had an awesome experience with endless wings shrimp and riblets and $1 cocktails...my waiter was amazing! However the hostess and the young man with her not in a good mood at all and take it out on guests walking in...they may need a refresher in how to greet people coming to spend money and enjoy the atmosphere
A wide variety of entrees and apps. Fast friendly service. Reasonably priced. You can pick your own combo of apps, smaller portions but a good choice if you and a friend each want and app. They have a convenient tablet at the table that you can pay your bill at so no waiting.overall not a bad place to grab a quick bite.
It is a part of a restaurant chain, for the good and for the bad. The good part is, if you know the chain you know what to expect. The food is good, the service was fast and friendly. The bad side is that chains in most cases are boring food wise and design wise. Everything looks and feels like every other branch.To make a long story short, a nice place but not a must.
The table was dirty and sticky after we waited to be seated at an obviously slower time. We were charged for both chocolate milks that came with the kids meals. When we notified the waitress she said we had to tell her they were kid sizes when we ordered drinks. They are 10 and had kid menus...maybe be jovial and/or use your brain. The food was average at best.
I understand times are different and you are all just getting back on your feet but to make a customer wait 40 minutes for a take out order is ridiculous then the take out order machine did not work properly and the attendant took the card inside very uncomfortable with that. We will not return. Until they are better organized.
I give it zero stars if I could. I just turned 58 and definitely look it. So we were seated, been there many times. Waitress comes right over, can I start you off.... we order drinks and we were asked for ID. In all the many times Ive gone there or anywhere its never happened. Of course I had no ID on me. Called manager he said its a NY state law. Duh , to not serve minors, its not a NY state law to demand identification from a person thats clearly old. We left and will never return.
First off place needs some serious cleaning. Plenty of staff just chatting near by but where’s the General Manager? Food is nothing to brag about, my burger tasted like one from McDonald’s. The Alfredo pasta we got for our daughters was not fresh I’ve read reviews on yelp and I agree with a lot in regards to freshness. The pasta looked precooked the chicken reminded me of a frozen item. I should know I worked in restaurants, neither of my daughters ate the pasta waitress saw but just said oh they didn’t like the pasta she did not suggest they get something else or offer a refund simply said ok and took the plates. I will never go back or recommend anyone to go please stay away save your $$ and go else where even Friday’s food is better. Look up reviews on yelp disappointed.
Last night 12/23/19 me and my friends went out and grabbed Steak, boneless wings, and fries. We all went home feeling awful. All waking up at 3am with food poisoning symptoms. Waitress was amazing but we all were very excited for a girls night that turned awful. Definitely won’t be going back
The worst experience I have ever had. I was seated at 7:15 and didn’t receive my dinner till almost 9:00. The manger never came over, never apologize or tried to make things right. The waiter kept saying he was trying to get her to come over which she never did. My husband went to the restroom and heard the manger talking about us saying she’s not coming to our table. Two families that can almost an hr after us got there food and dessert. They also had a terrible experience. The food was terrible loaded with salt after I told them no salt.I couldn’t even eat my dinner. That’s how salty it was. I would be calling cooperate on this terrible Applebee’s. Especially on this terrible manger. If the manger can’t take responsibility or try to make the situation right they should not be manging let alone a restaurant. Once again I would be calling cooperate.
Great food and large menu. Only thing a little disappointing is the price of drinks..such as lemonade and soft drinks are $4. Not a big deal if there is only 2 or 3 of you but took a large party there and drinks really added up. Like $50-60 worth just for some lemonade
Whenever my husband and I go out and we feel like tipping will go to applebees because we are never disappointed with the menu there, the staff is friendly and they seat you pretty quickly. we usually go for lunch during the week because of our schedules but on the occasion that we go on the weekend the service is fairly quick for that time of day too. We dont have to wait hours to be seated when we do go on the weekends. The restaurant is usually clean and the service is fairly quick you dont have to wait that long for your food.
I have been to this Applebees a couple of times now, and it has been good with the exception of this last time. My waitress didnt once ask if we wanted more to drink, and generally didnt wait on me. Additionally after the check came she then decided to try to be personable and stood around while I was signing it. The experience made me pretty uncomfortable.
The food was tasty after that it all went downhill the promotion that they have for three courses at a set price is good but the wait staff I think cannot handle three different plates for each person at a table it was too much for them to keep in order they brought out the appetizers first then the entrees and then the salads at the end they kept getting the orders wrong that we had from the beginning and we have to send two of them back they need to get their organization and be aqurate for what people order and what proper order to bring them out to the table. Even though the waitress was apologetic and tried hard to make everything right she just kept getting it wrong. also they need to check on the utensil cleaning operation because all our silverware was questionable for being properly cleaned.
Just stopped by for a quick bite with the wife and we couldnt be happier with our meal. I had the Whiskey bacon burger, it was hot, juicy, cooked medium rare like I ordered and was very tasty. Very kind and courteous waitress McKenzie made sure we had everything we needed. Well be back !!!
Had a great time here, the food was on point - more than that, the staff were fantastic. Defiantly will be back here next time we are in the area. The chap that served us kept coming back to check we were OK - despite the fact the place got really busy later that night. We now make a point of visiting applebees every time we come to the States.
I ordered a steak, which was overcooked green beans, were cold & a loaded baked potato which didnt come to the table until I had 3 bites left of my steak & it was not a loaded potato. I was very surprised because other visits there were very enjoyable.I was very upset because we were there to celebrate my granddaughters birthday and our experience definitely dampened our celebration.Im sorry but I dont think Ill be going there ever again.
I give this place 3 stars because the staff is really great a friendly however Im not happy with the food. For some strange reason my chicken smelled like chemicals and I ended up getting really sick afterwards. I dont know if it was maybe just one bad night, this was the first time I had ever eaten here and Im sorry but it will be my last.
I order. A car-side order 2/$20(burger/1/2rib, mozzarella cheese stick, 🍟, mash potatoes, 4-cheese mac cheese) i was happy all this food all for $20😀 but when i open the box to eat i was very unhappy 😡 the ribs was so dried up and very burn. I ended giving the ribs with the side order to my mom. But the burger was so amazing juicy
Our server was amazing and on top things..We got our appetizers and main course in a decent amount of time..If you go there ask to served by Robert...He was our server and like I said he was on point an on top of everything, as well as getting us our drinks an meal in timely manner..
I posted a 4 before but after tonight I changed to 2 . Tonight was not the first night they did not cook my steak the way I wanted which was well done. I was very specific and repeated myself 3 times that I wanted it well done. And tonight it came out with blood oozing out of it. Manager tried to set it right but didnt with a plate of fries and cooking the same steak longer instead of making a new one. Then after all of that, we tried to order a blue ribbon brownie and after waiting 20 minutes for it and Im not exaggerating, we told the waitress we dont want it anymore and left.
The Staff here is So unprofessional. Sloppy rude dirty lazy dont waste your money. The food was like microwaved fast food. The hostess sat us 10 min later the waitress shows up as we were about to just get up and leave and asks what we wanted to drink then returns 15 min later with drinks (soda) ! Then walked away didnt come back to ask us what we wanted to eat for 45 min !! And thats because I attempted to get the attention of other wait staff to help us. And it wasnt even busy ! .. Never going back they need to fire all staff and rehire new . I hate to say it but .. Just Trash The franchise needs to see how this is run ! It sad I see it closing soon if nothing is done
Incompetent service. I walked out after waiting 20 min with not even a salad, while my father was enjoying his 3 course meal. Also the game machines on tables are so tacky. This is my 2nd time eating at this specific restaurant and I am not letting them ruin a third meal . 0 stars for service, 1 star because its mandatory
The quality of the food has gone downhill you can tell everything they cook is frozen out of a bag. The Chicken tenders are such a low quality you can find better at a fast food restaurant or in the freezer section at the store and pay far less. Service is okay not the best not the worst. Pricing for what you get is poor. When you go to sit down restaurants you expect to get decent food not the same food you would get at a fast food burger joint.
Never been here just driving through the area was seated at an absolutely disgusting table actual food chunks stuck in/on the seats and food smears where they didnt really attempt to wipe the table down... still awaiting food there is literally like 4 tables seated and plenty of workers yet no one being very attentive.
Horrible service. Waitress attitude is really bad and should be fired. Looking back at yelp reviews... restaurant also needs real manager. Terrible. Complaint to manager, and she smiles. Wow. We’ll be reaching out to the regional manager to see why this place is still open.
I took my son for the 25cent boneless wings & didnt know u had to order blue cheese sauce to go with it.The waiter failed to mention that. Thought sauce automatically came with it. When i asked for it,it took almost 20 minutes to get!! I was already done with my mac& cheese & his wings were cold!!We wont be going back to the 1 in Middletown NY again.
The brand is in bad shape but not half as bad as this location. One would have to have no regard for service or food quality/taste to dine here. Wife wanted the triple chocolate meltdown. I suggested we eat somewhere else and get the dessert but we decided to give them another try. While I found myself in utter disbelief of what I was experiencing, I kept saying that I knew this was what it would be and why am I surprised. The manager sits at a table two tables from us and stuffs his face while I have dishes piled up since the server can bother to clear them. Chips for spinach dip were the bottom of the pan shreds of pieces. The pretzels were microwaved. The fries ice cold. Heaven forbid you want a refill on a drink. I had to ask for anything and everything I wanted at least twice. That is not service. Management and staff alike could care less. TL Cannon should be ashamed of themselves and start visiting their restaurants to see what is actually driving customers away. If I could rate this place 0 stars, I would have. The worst experience that money can buy. Its not worth the dessert.
Had to wait 15 to 20 minutes after being seated for anyone to greet us service was horrible waitress never offered the specials food had to be sent back wasnt how I ordered it I have never had service like that before wouldnt recommend to anyone. Something at the table said if your server fails to mentions the drinks or specials that is free and the server refused to give us our drinks for free
Applebees ia always my go to place to eat when im in middletown. Tonight however i was very dissapointed, and let down. Both my husband amd i got the loaded fajitas... When it finally came my portion was probably half the size of his. I was let down as i waa really looking foward to them.. I wouldnt say they were spectacular. But overall the fact i didnt get equally what he got got me pretty aggravated and i just wasnt in the mood to even finish. When i asked the waitress about the eclub or birthday special she waa clueless and just had no clue. Her exact words i have no clueFor my go to restaurant.. Im very let down today. Shame on you applebees.
The worst I have ever seen an was Embarrassed like Ive never been.. I was with my kids wife and sister in law.. first we got no silverware..then when we did they were dirty. I asked if we can have new ones an it took like 15 mins just to get them ..we placed our order an waited almost an hour with the excuse they had two new cooks an the place was busy..an it wasnt the waitress lexis or lexei was rood..asked for management he came brushed us off..when we spoke to the waitress again she was more cocky then before..I wouldnt care but when Im with my kids an they are hungry you dont mess with my family,my kids did nothing to you.. I will never ever go back to this place.. you dont do that to someone regardless if something was said wrongly to you if the roles had been reversed you wouldnt like it..we walked out with out getting anything except burnt dry mozzarella sticks not once but giving us them twice when you know damn well you served us them.already saying it was a mistake ..you got some guts on you ..doing that when you know what you were doing .. you your Manger should be fired. Along with the other waiter that you had come next to you an for what reason ,but to embarrass us more ..you should be ashamed on how you treated us..Im beyond pissed on how we got treated..
Was never offered refills on our drinks, got the wrong bill 3 times on the kiosk bedore the waitress realized the people at the table next to is paid our bill. When they tell you to pay your bill at the table on the kiosk make Sure it is your bill, the people who paid mine paid about 5 dollars more than they should have.
Very friendly staff. Drinks are OK. Food sucks. I dont recommend this place to anyone. I order a burger and my French fries were old like they were sitting out and got re-fried rubbery fries. Order an extra egg on my burger they send that on the side and it looked deep fried. Not a very good experience with the food.
Came to Applebees for a nice New Years Day dinner. Restaurant was not busy so no wait to sit. Waiter came over asked f9r drinks and apps. At nearly 50- there was no reason for him to press us for ID over 21. He brought us our drinks and app right away and took dinner order. Before we could finish our app- the salad and dinner was all brought out to the table. I asked since when does it all vome out at once. Anyway- lime chicken was microwaved and ribs were cold. Obv thrown in a microwave to be cooked. We complained and the manager agreed. Replaced meals. We turned on waiter signal after unsuccessful attempts of calling him over. That stayed on so long- we knocked it off the table as he walked by us again. Finally- we were able to ask for water. Terrible experience. Happy New Year to us- not.
Look, 9 years ago, my admittedly LARGE family (We were a table of 21 who asked for multiple receipts) came in for my daughters 21st birthday. The service, food, and absolute chaos that ensued convinced me to NEVER go back...And I didnt, until June or July of this year. Having been given a combo gift card set for Dinner and a Movie, my uncle, who I care for, came in and sat down. The waitress was a complete AIRHEAD!!! We placed our order...an appetizer, dinners with salads, dessert, and drinks. Which ALL came out together! Maybe, in my incredulous state, I was a bit snotty, but, I made her take things back, and bring them out in the right order. But, I had to ASK for our drinks. Which took another 5 minutes. But, hey, EVERYONE is entitled to have a bad day. So, on Veterans day, I again took my uncle in for the free dinner for Vets. We were seated, and told our server would be Alex, only for, You got it, the same waitress, Julianna, come prancing over. We had already been seated for 15 minutes, and hadnt even been offered so much as WATER! So, I asked for her drinks, and got a blank stair. And, waited another 10 minutes for it to come. When she finally took my order, my uncle ordered from the special menu, and I ordered to the regular one. We were informed from the beginning there was only ONE veggie available (Corn, which is NOT a veggie! Its CARB!) . So, I asked if I could get an Add-on Salad, instead. She said, Sure, so, I added a house salad with Bacon...costs an extra $3.00ISH. AND, I had to ask that the salad come FIRST! AGAIN!!!!!! She brought out a tiny little rectangular dish 2.5x3 or so. In it was sloppy, soggy lettuce, with a little cheese, and 3 SLICES of mushy, old grape tomatoes, and not enough dressing to cover it! (It equaled about 1/2 a grape tomato!) I certainly wasnt sending it back! I doubted I would have gotten it before I was done eating the rest of my food! So, I asked the hostess if this was the Add On salad with bacon, she said...No, that is the salad that you get when you order it as a side. I told her it was NOT what I ordered. She said that shed take care of us at the end of the meal....I dont even think she remembered, because she looked right at me as we left, and said Have a nice night. Needless to say, Applebees is off limits for me and my husband, from here on out.
I usually love going to Applebees its one of my favorite restaurants . Ive ordered to go from them twice and never again . First time I ordered for my mother a well done steak , I repeated it three times and I go to pick it up and its pretty much still alive . Second time today on my break from work , I ordered over the phone the southwestern chicken salad I go to pick it up , and its steak and too under cooked for my liking . I go inside they fixed my salad and I come to work not only was there still a piece of undercooked steak still in my salad mixed in with the chicken but the amount of salad was small . When I order at the restaurant I get a very generous amount so of course I expect to get that same amount when its to go . Especially if Im paying the same price for it . Well now Im at work and Im too squeamish and just threw the salad out . $13.90 in the trash smh never again. Idk how to attach a photo along with my review but I would love to .
Was using their car side for a few years and it was an on and off disaster. No consistency in service. Id be waiting sometimes in my car for up to 15 minutes and then give up and go inside for my food. None of the staff seemed to care, and it wasnt a service that was reliable. After a while I gave up and went elsewhere, and glad I did because not only is the food much better, but the service is consistently great.
Its an Applebees. If youve been to one, youve been to most of them. This one however does have one of the more helpful and happy staffs that weve experienced. The bar area is kind of saturated with Television and Lottery screens, but again... its an Applebees so, its to be expected. We have been here with a service animal and unlike many managers who have knee jerk reactions and are short with us about it, the manager here related stories of odd animals that have been in the restaurant, and funny stories of dealing with them. Very friendly staff all the way around.
My family and I went to this Applebees on May 21st 2016 around 6:30pm. My daughter has a service dog. The mgr at that point cornered my daughter and proceeded to grab the service animal. Not only did this embarrass my daughter, but it put her safety at risk. While the mgr was grabbing for the service animal, the service animal could have missed important medical cues that put my daughters health at risk. My daughter asked the mgr several times to stop grabbing the dog and back up. He refused. We provide him with the ADA cards, explaining that what he was doing was against the law. What this mgr did is equivalent to grabbing a disabled persons wheel chair or oxygen tank. The service animal is an extension of its handler, touching the service animal is considered assault. That mgr needs to be terminated.
Went to Applebees for lunch with my husband, we ordered, 30 min later i see other people getting there food,who came in well after we did.manager came over explained what happened, was told food will be right out NOT!!! 30 min more still no food told manager she still apologizing.so we left,no food,no offers for two free meals next time,like there would be. .POOR SERVICE,
Went with some coworkers it wasnt that good and it wasnt that bad, weve had better food and service at other restaurants, for the prices it was cheap for the little bit of food you were given. I personally wouldnt be going back but it wasnt a bad experience but its not good enough for me to go back.
Worst dinning experience Ive ever had.. The GM was there and didnt care about anything.. A patron that was sitting at the bar, had his chair break... And there was no care given... The GM was rude to his employees... And after me and my co-worker left, he was talking about us, not knowing that we left 3 other co-workers behind still eating lunch... Im sure thats NOT how Applebees operates.. I will NEVER be returning back there
Love it there me and my fiance have been going there for 6 years for just about every occasion. the reason i didnt give full 5 starz is because recently i dont know if there is new management their has been a couple of issues eaither food is cold or takes to long to come out.. but still love it there.
Every time I go to Applebees in Middletown I never have a bad time the food is always good and the special items they have are really good this time they had non alcoholic drinks one was a slushy style and the other ones a lemonade with other things added to it definitely say check it out its worth it
The wait staff were very nice although we had to wait for the bartender to take her leg off the cooler and stop talking to the guys with her back to us while a few of us were waiting to be served or play quick draw,I understand thats how they get theyre tips but look around every minute or so and answer when we call her attention!🤨🤔The food was great like usual!!!
My husband and i went to the Chippewa applebees today may 11 2019 the food is so very very salty my husband ordered brunch buger it was so loaded with salt it made him sick and gave him the runs .. My steak was salty ..this isnt the first time we went there and the food was loaded with salt ..after 4 times of this and telling them no salt we are done ..

2022-04-16Youre total is $12.42. I handed her a $20. She gave me $7 back. When I asked for the 58 cents she said I dont have any change. What do you mean? You dont have any change? I said. She insisted that she didnt have any change. So I said to her Thats not my problem. Theres no sign that says exact change required. So she shrugged her shoulders And I kept pushing so she screams across the room to someone. Hey do you have 58 cents?. What kind of nonsense is this? Is this the new way we do business? We gyp customers out of their change because the store doesnt have any when theres a change tip jar sitting right next to the register? Unbelievable. The woman wasnt even apologetic. She put it on me. Tried to make me feel bad for asking for change. Shes not even a server but a register. I will not say her name here because its not going to help the situation. But Applebees needs to fire that employee and get rid of her quick. Thankfully they got the order right. Just wow --- just wow ---like what just happened?

2022-04-10Wow. I was surprised with how good the food was. I got chicken bowls to go for myself and family. The food was delicious and filling. The person taking the order was great. I picked up the food and the service was great. Recently at OTHER restaurants we had issues. Get home and the order is wrong or items missing. NOT HERE JUST GREAT FOOD GREAT SERVICE.I will be back soon.

2022-03-21The bartenders are awesome, I really like how the walls look so artistic with some individuality to them. I asked one of the bartenders about the cook design inside (I was thinking that this was just a busy & successful location, and were able to do stuff like showing the individuality of community because of their success), and surprisingly, she said this is how all the new Applebees looked now. Normally, Im content with Applebees...but I dont remember being so enthusiastic about the food, I may not have been that hungry the night I was at this location, but was more just looking to have a drink (due to earlier events going on in my life, most would find it frustrating). Next time I return to this location, Ill try to give better feedback on the food itself.... everything else was good, the ambiance, the bartenders, the location (right on Rt. 211, and right down the street from the junction of I-84.

2022-07-08The absolute worst experience in any restaurant ever. Got seated, that went fine. Waited a very long time just to see our waitress. Only to tell us she’ll be with us in a minute. After ten minutes pass I looked and found the punk manager who wasn’t even close to nice or accommodating. It’s like he didn’t like me from get go. I will never ever again come back. Needless to say we never did get our drink order in and left not happy at all. This manager needs to be fired and asap

2022-02-27My GF and I ordered from the 2 for $30 menu and we were very satisfied with our food. Apps came out pretty quickly and entries were not far behind. Drinks from the bar were great as well. We recommend stopping here if your in town.

2022-06-13Tonight I decided to go to apple bees for a diner out. When I arrived I was told by the hostess to give them a minute to clear a table for us. We were seated in a section and the waitress kept walking past us until we asked if we could get drinks. Her response was I’ve been here over my time and have to either take a break or leave! But said she was going to speak to her manager she came back and said I’m sorry but I can’t serve you and someone will be with you shorty! I went back to hostess explaining what just transpired and he said give me a second and I’ll go get the manager. He came back and said “My fault I’ll move you to a different section I didn’t know”. We asked to speak to the manager and was told he’s in back but it’s my fault! Long story short we were moved and the waitress that said she couldn’t serve us remained on shift for the duration of our dinner! Very poor customer satisfaction and unprofessional service.

2022-05-21Service was slow, place unkept, waitress promised hand wipes which were never brought out. I ordered a Southwest Chicken bowl, which had the lettuce pieces edges brown, our drinks came after our meal.When waitress brought out our drinks I asked her to take back my food. She asked if I wanted to order something else, to which I declined. Didn’t ask if there was something wrong just took it back.Tables were left dirty with no one cleaning up.NEVER patronizing this location again.

2022-02-20Called to ask if they were still taking people. The guy that answered the phone stated yes. We got there within 4 minutes from the call, which was a lot shorter than we expected. When we arrived the door was locked. We called and the guy answered again stated that he was going to send someone to open the door. We walked in and the lady that was standing at the bar seemed shocked as if she never seen black people before and quickly stated that they were closed and not taking anyone. We told her that we literally just called. She stood there made a face and said absolutely nothing. Don’t waste your time here.

2022-06-19Absolutely the worst ever experience at an Applebees restaurant. Entire dining experience took over 2 hours from beginning to end and the restaurant was only about 25% full. Overheard staff talking to other staff stating they only have 4 servers on tonight. Seems to me they should have scheduled more staff for Fathers day. Food portions werent even close to what was depicted in the menu. Overall completely frustrating and terrible experience for my Fathers day dinner. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this failure of a business.
