Had a great b-day lunch. The waitress tried 2 get a dessert as a surprise but they ran out of the item. I told her it was ok & thank u as Im not at all a sweet eater. Only once in awhile I get a craving.
Hello everyone! I don’t know what is going on with employees and who is the line cook, but the food waiting time is forever! I also Tried to order through GrubHub and doordash! I called to the restaurant when it supposed to be ready and guess what? It’s never ready! They are always 25-30 minutes late!!!I wish this place changed the manager or the way they treat their customers and especially who orders online.
The girl working the bar has the best personality and is a complete fit for the job. Enjoyed my time here.

Applebees is almost fast food but not quite. Be quite honest I find that your waiter or waitress can make a significant difference in that belief. The last few times Ive been to Applebees Ive been fortunate to have very good waiters and waitresses. The food was perfect the drinks were exactly as ordered the wait time was very small. Well done again Applebees.
The Mac and cheese was so dry. Burgers were tasteless. Ordered onion rings got fries instead but at least the waitress got the onion rings for me too.
Service was terrible. Although we had a great meal, the waitress was not attentive. I had to wait for a coffee refill because she never came around to check on us. I had to find my own salt and pepper, when I finally got my coffee I needed more cream, she said she would be right back and never did.
Went there today for lunch. Don’t know if there was no management on during that time besides it being cold and servers having their coats on there was garbage cans on a chair in an aisle garbage all over the floor no lights on in the place I should’ve taken photos.

My husbands steak was not cooked properly very pink we asked for well and it came out almost raw. It had a gravy of some sorts on it. We didn’t ask for that in our order device was good but not great. Management didn’t even apologize when we brought to their attention. Probably not gonna go back.

The building was FREEZING!! I went with my kids and I understand that the previous days were hot, but on this day out was chilly out, AND THE AC WAS ON!! The thermostat in the wall behind our booth showed the Ac was set to 53°!!! Had to leave. But the food was good. We are it in our car
So restaurant service was okay waiter was attentive I ordered the chicken with shrimp on top cost around $18 and Ive had this before at this and a couple Applebees but the chicken breast was small and overcooked! I knew the shrimp would be tiny from having had this before so this was not a factor butFor this kind of price, I would have least expected the chicken to be cooked properly! Will probably not go back to this location. The kitchen obviously needs some quality controls as far as plates leaving there to go to customers.

Everything is very salty, everything was not cooked well, service is ok but could be better. Took us 30 min to get our food and 15 min just to get a waitress. I dont think I will ever be coming back. There are better restaurants out there and applebees will definitely be my last option.
Me and a friend stop into this location Sunday night at 8:15pm and was told they closed at 8pm so the customers inside can finish their meal before 9pm that was listed on the front door as their closing time. This Army Veteran will not be going into any Applebees any more.They should change their sign to read close at 8pm instead of 9pm
Food was cold, waitress was rude. The waitress was clearly bothered that my father reasked for something he ordered in the beginning. My father is elderly and he didn’t understand the touch screen tablet for payments, or that the tip was automatically added. She seemed clearly bothered that my dad tried to ask for change to leave a tip. Then when she told him the tip was already added to the bill, she was clearly bothered that she wasn’t going to get more of a tip. Never coming here again. Go to Denny’s on route 4 food is better, and cheaper. They are way more understanding to elderly customers, and actually have a physical menu you can hold in your hand. My father doesn’t own a smartphone, and we were denied a physical menu.
Best bartenders and servers in the Capital district. The management team is excellent at what they do. This is a great place with great value.
I dont know what it is about Applebees but I always enjoy my meal there. Everything always tastes like it was made fresh then there is such a great variety that everyone can find something to enjoy.
But overall every restaurant makes mistakes this one I think that is the best restaurant that I walked into

Applebees is my favorite restaurant. So they will always get a good review unless they meet up big time. Thankfully has not happened yet.
Food and drinks were OK. Service was weak. We needed to ask for utensils, salt, pepper, ketchup, etc... our food was dropped off and the server left with out asking if we needed any of these items. Another server was courtious about providing these items, but in general service was not good.
The waitress was always checking to ensure we were all set and asked how the food was. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked and the deals they have are so worth going for. Like the 25 ¢ buffalo wing deal and the $1 cranberry vodka lemonade drink.
I love Applebees and their food! It isnt overly costly and they have servers who are fast and diligent with orders. Food quality is very good and service is excellent. The only time Ive had issues is when ordering through their to-go. But overall, wonderful experience. Would recommend to anyone who wants good food at an affordable price.
Our waitress was great she was on top of keeping the drinks filled and making sure that we had everything that we needed. The cleanliness was to be desired and the host was horrible. She was on her phone when we first got there and we had to wait for her to finish sending her text message and then we had to wait for her to clean off the table. We then had to wait for her to get the menus and make sure that they had all the little inserts for the specials. Once she actually looked at us all she said was Three? like really? Not to mention I think when she did talk to us she mumbled. While we were there at least two groups of people left because she was not at her station.
The chill out spot for my friends and family. The menu is not that extensive, but the service is good.

We waited forever to get our food. Three people had to leave unexpectedly and had to get to go boxes. Someone else never got their mozzarella stick appetizer until our meals came and our meals did not come out at the same time - after waiting over an hour they came out a couple at a time. Our server was wonderful and very apologetic. Things were backed up in the kitchen. It will be a while before we go back.
Service is fine the food however, is a step above a microwave meal. Kids menu items come out hotter than the surface of the sun and adult meals a bit better than room temperature. Ive never once been excited for my food there and yet every time Im more and more disappointed in the quality of what I order.

Waited to be seated , bartender actually seated us , waited 5 minutes for server Joe he gave us plates & silverware and walked away. Put order in 5 minutes later. Found hair in our appetizer dip! Unreal will neve return.
So me and my husband walked in with another couple. We was in front of them standing at the little stand by entrance. The lady Erica look right pass me and asked the other couple how many people. So i corrected her and answered 2. Never look at me and then asked the couple the same question again. At this time another worker came up, younger male. Gave her a look. Greeted up the right way Apologize for her and set us down. This lady was very rude. Thinking twice about going to this location. Got the 2 stars only because food was good
The waitress was friendly & easy to deal with. When asked to bring out something we could munch on until our food was ready the response was perfect. We did not wait long at all for the snack, however when the dinners were prepared i did end up with a burned piece of chicken breast which was my dinner but when i informed the waitress she did resend my order back & the next plate was correct.
I have reviewed this place in the past. Time for an update. So I’ve been to this location a few times now. On average, the service is good, but the food is hit and miss in quality. What’s odd is typically when the food is low and quality it is when the restaurant is not busy. I’m not sure exactly what’s going on with the cooks here but it should be very obvious when food is burnt, and one that is noticed it shouldn’t go to the customers table.On my most recent visit here, I ordered the chicken wonton stir fry, and my daughter ordered a kids pizza with broccoli. Both arrived promptly, but both were burnt. And it was very obvious that they attempted to use the toppings to cover up the char. Upon taking a bite, the taste of burnt vegetable and chicken filled my mouth. It was fairly disgusting.My daughter happened to notice that in the background, upon overhearing my complaint about the food being burned, my server was glaring over and rolling his eyes.I’m sorry, I’m not typically one to complain, but this sort of thing is unacceptable. When I told the server about the food being burned, I told them that I did not want them to remake it, I simply wanted it taken off the bill. And then I got to thinking, if both meals were burned to the point of being inedible, and basically all we came therefor was two drinks.Ridiculous waste of time.I plan to call the manager today to see if I can get my mail completely refunded. I really hope this place can do better than this.
Went in last night with my son after his football game. Place was relatively empty. Im giving 3 stars because our server was awesome. My son ordered a steak medium, it was bleeding, and had no flavor. I ordered French onion soup, it was cold. Not happy with the way this local favorite has been going downhill lately. Still tipped well, because again our server was awesome.
I consider myself getting robbed by doordash and General manager of Applebees tried his best to help get my money , but doordash does take responsibility for refunds,they try to blame it on the restaurants and that is based on my experience with them. Thank goodness for general managers like Al, that take customer service to a another level.
Service was extremely slow. The environment did not appear clean (noting food spills on the wall across from us). The fries were horrible and the ribs were tough. sorry, we will not be returning there.

Great food and service was superior. You are always guaranteed. Full customer service, expansive menu selections. Staff is always consistent and professional. Our appetizer and salad were promtly served. Next came platters with our entrees, served hotand sizzling. Wait staff checked back three times to be sure everything was satisfactory. Bill arrived and it moderately priced, left a 22% tip...
Great dining experience as usual, but my last one was the best they were able to get my family amd I seated promptly, took our orders right away, we knew what we wanted. Food came in good time and correctly more importantly. Last but not least we enjoyed our visit.
Place is great and food is amazing if you go inside, but the car side to go is absolutely despicable! Ordered our food and sat outside for over 10 minutes while my food sat on the counter! Only to be served with cold food that tasted like absolute garbage, more lettuce than anything else that didnt even taste like it was washed. Overall the place is great if you go inside but I do NOT reccomend getting car side to go!

Food was fine but their delivery service is terrible. They use doordash and we ordered $50 worth of food that was never delivered. When we called an hour later to see where it was we were told it had been sitting there for an hour that the driver never came to pick it up. They recooked the food and we went to pick it up where we were charged another $50 despite never getting our first order. Told to take it up with door dash who told us they were unable to do anything. If no help is going to be given when problems arise I dont think the service should be advertised.
If only I could write a lower review. I ordered food for car side to go. I get there at the time it was stated to be done. After sitting in my car for 20 mins after the time it was suppose to be ready I call for the lady to say people have just been coming in and shes been helping them and asked me to come in. So I do. I stood there for over another 10 mins for her to say it’s not done yet. Someone else comes over to help and finds it in on the counter in the done meals of people probably sitting in their cars waiting too. So get my food and my short 5 minute drive home and it’s stone cold. I was also shorted food! So mad that 30 mins of waiting I have over 60$ worth of stone cold food and an incomplete meal! Terrible! Absolutely terrible!!
My husband and I usually enjoy the food here.We ordered appetizers then our meal.Our server was really nice and checked on us after we got our appetizer. But once we got our dinner no one come over.My husband had a bacon chicken sandwich with fries. I had the breakfast burger with fries. The appetizers were so so . Weve had better.My burger although messy it was good. Definitely need more than one napkin for that burger, the fries were old.My husbands chicken was undercookedand his fries were hollow.
So due to covid-19 with the combination that it is mothers day it was extremely busy, which is fine however it was extremely unorganized and understaffed which is not the employees fault. The manager really needs to evaluate how to manage a store in a time of crisis because this was a disaster and I waited over an hour for my food as many other people were . This needs to be addressed

This experience was awful. Very cold in restaurantForgot my wine. Took over half hour to get food. Sorry was the big word. Manager offered dessert when I didnt even eat my dinner. Not exactly what I ordered. Offered another dinner....not in my schedule. Took my burger off the bill. Never going back!
We didnt have a great experience here. Two steaks were not cooked to what we ordered and even after they took them back and brought out the food again it still wasnt cooked right. The server wasnt helpful about compensating us and was even flippant about handing her a dirty fork that was on our table.Update: i called and spoke with the manager and he was more than apologetic and said he was sorry but he was in the back at the time helping out because it was understaffed. He then credited us back for 2 meals which was very fair. Thank you
Tuesday 06/28/2018, my boyfriend and I walked in around 9:00pm looking for a quick bite. We stood at the door for 10 minutes, and made eye contact with the bartender, and several waitresses. No one seated or even acknowledged us. Not a way to run a restaurant, and it is a sad excuse of professionalism. Instead we took our business to the new Recovery Sports Bar and Grill down the road, and the establishment was much better. Not to mention Applebees did not look very clean either.
I usually Come here about 2-3 times a month for their ribs which are usually really good, however as of last week when I ordered my food Togo and got home to eat I was Extremely disappointed. They served me raw uncooked broccoli and the ribs were a lil undercooked. I called the store to explain my disappointment & was told there was no mistake on their part & that that’s how they make that dish. Mind you I order from here often enough to know what the meal is suppose to taste like. I spend $30 plus a tip and that’s what I get ? The waiter at the bar was just extremely unprofessional.
I know Applebees is not the highest quality, but dont go during lunch if you want to get your food. We waited over an hour after we ordered. And Im 90% sure the waitress had forgotten to put in our order.
Horrible customer service!!!!! Ordered two dinners online. Arrived to find one order OK and the other not what we wanted. Told that they didnt have that item on the menu. Showed them the evidence online and asked to speak to the manager. Manager shows up and says hes worked there 5 years and they have never carried that. Once again showed him the online order. He stomped out not to be seen again.Re-ordered the second dinner and waited...waited. Should have forgotten the whole thing! By the time the second dinner was ready of course the first one was stone cold. Not one employee even apologized for the problem or offered to look into it. Who trains these people??? WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN
When we entered the place smelled musty, that should have been the first sign. Ordered boneless wings and the were raw, not undercooked but raw. Vegetables had a piece of plastic in it. The manager and wait staff was very apologetic and comped the wings but the thought of cutting into raw wings couldnt escape my mind.
Been here a few times recently and they have had excellent service every time. The serving staff knew what they were doing and took good care of us. The food came out correct, but it could have used a bit of salt (both the penne and the burger) but overall the meal was good.
I go every Tuesday for lunch. The bartender, Courtney, is always very pleasant and fast! Food comes out in no time at all. It is always full of flavor and hot. Their lunch combo special is very reasonably priced. Much better for you and better tasting than the other options in the area for the same money. I would definitely recommend this Applebees.

Ive had good meals and bad meals here. Their new artichoke cavatappi is terrible, watery, flavorless, and slimy. Good place to go if you want to have a few drinks but just be careful with what you choose off the menu. The servers at this location have always been friendly.

Food was good. I got the chicken fajita roll up and my wife got the chicken wonton tacos. Waitress wasnt really there a lot or on top of her game but oh well. Everyone has their off days! We really enjoy coming to this applebees.
Standard chain restaurant fare. Great specials at the bar during NFL games.... and they have the NFL ticket so even a Seahawks fan can see their team. The ribs were terrible and the wings are OK, but Buffalo is as hot as you can get, which is/was weak. Worth a visit, especially if you can parlay a Happy hour or other special discounted time/promotion for the visit.
The staff was very attentive, and friendly the service was very quick. We were very impressed to see how the staff were cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. In a time of Covid it makes you feel a little more relaxed.
Food was really good they need more staff the poor waitress was overworked she was waiting tables and clearing tables at the same time.
My eleven year old ordered a 20.00 steak. Most of the steak was fat. When I complained the waitress spoke to her manager and offered to take off a few dollars. When I objected, the manager was literally putting his face into our table to see how much my son ate. He acted like we were trying to scam Applebees. In the end...They did provide my son with a burger and only charged half for the steak. But I had to fight for a reasonable resolution. I think this Applebees must be struggling, because I eat out a lot, and never experienced anything like this. We wont be back.
Good location by HomeDepot; after home improvement shopping built a meal on 2 for 25 and good craft beer.Staff was prompt and efficient, on a busy afternoon. Ribs were excellent.

Music is always too loud because the speakers are over every other table...turn it down...I dont like yelling to my companion. And way too much salt....ya know there are salt shakers on the tables if we want more!

I wasn’t going to say anything but when I see it happen more than once with a significant amount of time in between, I speak up. Do the customers a favor Applebee’s, and DONT dump the bottom of the chip bowl into a customers take out container and call it a full priced order. Twice I have eat my chips and spinach dip with a spoon. Wish I could attach a photo. C’mon guys! Why even serve crumbs?? Not one chip is larger than a quarter. Pretty upset about this since I paid over $10 for it. I will rethink where to eat next time I pass through on my way home.
Menu had ketchup splatter. Floor was dirty with baby spoon included. Order was incorrect (requested salad without tomatoes). Took a while to get hamburgers. Hamburgers were overcooked and really burnt. Waitress was rude.

Havent been here in a while since chilis opened up near by but stopped in for our anniversary dinner. Unfortunately the baby back ribs were very dry . We got extea Bbq sauce but that really didnt help. I think they got over cooked.

Rice that came with the Fiesta Chicken was extremly dry, like it last weeks rice, so I put the house-made Pic De Gallo on it and the jalapino in it burnt my mouth so I couldnt enjoy the rest of the meal. Then, some of the wait staffs friend came in which is nice but the 10 minute hudlethey created semi blocked other staff and delayed attention needed at thier assigned tables. My wife and I had our credit card on top of the bill and it just sat there till our waitress came out of the hudle.

OMG - did Applebees get a new chef, management, everything???? The BEST grilled chicken, roasted potatoes w/shrooms and onions ever! OH the seasonings...even my husbands Caeser salad was freshest and, again, chicken moist!!! The unsweetened tea tasted like TEA, not rancid weeds! Server Shannon, besides having the awesomest green eyes, was super attentive and most pleasant. Dinner was $50 for two - great value today - we tipped a very deserved $15 !!!! You have to show gratitude when others aim to please and excel, from chef, to server, to hostess. Thanks for a great lunch out Applebees! - Rubidia

The Rensselaer franchise is absolutely no exception; in fact, it is a rather distinct embodiment of this declining value.Often crowded, there is ample staff to support the needs of customers, yet they are more apt to chat amongst themselves than customers. Perhaps this distraction is why questions about the menu or drinks are met with short, incomplete answers and instructions such as: the order of appetizers vs entrees; which beer to pour; or even which sides were requested are all overwhelming for this poorly managed, fast food quality establishment.
Y kids took me here for Easter. I got the bacon cheeseburger which was ok. My daughter in law got a piece of steak that came red as hell. I prefer Chilis.
Everytime I go, I am always greeted and treated well. I use a wheelchair and they always accomodate me well. Love the chicken wontons and Asia chilli bone in wings. Good stuff.
Service was great. I had steak with shrimp nd it was delicious. The steak was perfect nd tender but what I liked most was that it was not drowned in salt. Thank You chef.... : )

You either get great food and service or you dont... Im getting sick of taking the gamble, especially for a $60.00 meal for 2 adults and 1 child.... 3 drinks, a app, the 2 for $25 meal and a kids meal.... We didnt like or eat our meals last time we visited, the waitress didnt bother to take the plates off the table let alone the check... Gave them my money, but they lost my business, Id rather drive a extra 5 minutes to the Sports Grill, with the same 2 for $20 deals and 2 for 1 beer... Bye-bye Applebees...
Alyssa is the best bartender on Tuesdays. She is very attentive and will fix anything that may have been mixed up from the kitchen.

Called them tonight to place an order because it says on there website that they are open and was told that they werent open because they had a customer with the covid-19 and they were cleaning the whole place and they will be open tomorrow. They need to keep there website up to date. And why bother answering the phone???
Terrible service!! Food took forever not busy. One table got food before us and we had already order and been there a good 5mins.
Food is good, prices are decent but tables are often sticky and wiped down with sour washcloths. Mentioned this a while ago and improvements were made but things have slipped back.
Place was dirty (Rugs, fixtures, etc.) food was cold. ~someone~ was supposed to discuss this experience with me, never contacted me, obviously dropped the ball and dont care.
Wasnt happy with this visit the one who sit you never told the waitress she had us we had to find out what was going on a long wait food wasnt what I hope for

Waitresses are nice but if you arrive in a large group always tell them head of time. Otherwise serve can be slow at times, but still great food.
Food came out...cold. Asked for hot food...put it in microwave and over cooked steak. Manager never showed her face to say sorry.
I like the easy take out option where they bring the food to your car. Food is ok for bar food and burgers are good.

The only place in the area open past midnight, so convenient for night owls and for a late night bite. Otherwise, its a fairly typical Applebees, service is good, usual menu.
Its applebees, i never expect anything grand... cheese dip for the pretzels was watered down, spinach artichoke dip didnt taste right, and never got a refill... worse then normal for applebees.
Ordered blackened salmon. When it arrived it wasnt blackened. She ate it anyway. She said it was good.

Normally a very good experience. Ordered pickup to go tonight for 7:15, didnt get the food until 7:45. My order came without half of what it was supposed to, the appetizers we ordered were not up to par with what we usually receive there. Very disappointed this time.
Arrived at 8:00pm ordered a beer @ 8:05 then ordered food @ 8:15 food arrived at table @ 8:45 and it was COLD. STAY THE HELL AWAY!!!

I was at applebees today and another round of poor service, we ordered french onion soup followed by the classic burger, the soup was ok but when we got our classic burgers there was no lettuce tomato, pickle a plain cheeseburger and we were charged for a classic and the cheeese on the soup was not melted all the way and the waitress mustve been on slow mode, we waited about 15 minutes for someone to take a drink order, 2 weeks ago we were there ordered 2 soups 1 was brought out and when we notified the waiter he went to get another, it looked totally different from the 1st with a hunk of bread instead of croutons was put in it, im no longer going to applebees as the service sucks and the food is getting that way too, maybe they need a chiles and a ruby tuesday up there,
Got my steak wrong twice. Baked potatoes was hard and in eatable. Sent it back. Yet they did take off my hole me at bill time.

2021-12-21Server McKenna was single handedly managing the entire restaurant while she waited for her coworkers to show. Still a great smile and pleasant demeanor. Food was typical Applebees, although the burger my friend ordered did look pretty good!!!! I got the four cheese mac, but instead of the chicken that comes with it, i asked for BBQ. The seasonal cocktail was the Reindeer, which was a vodka cran with a splash of Grenadine. Tasty!

2021-10-05Here at the one In Rensselaer, NY. The server is too arrogant and rude. I simply stated my wings were not what is described “Double Crunch Bone-In” He stated the first time they were and the second time I repeated it, he stated he knows for sure they are. Look at the photo and tell me what looks remotely battered. I took them home to cook be cooked to a crisp as they should. I won’t return here. That kind of attitude turns me off. Service altogether was slow and the group of us had to constantly ask other waiter/waitresses for more than one napkin, a plate to eat appetizers and something simple like water 3 times****Edit***Here it is 10/5/21 and still waiting on make up vouchers from Al in the mail which he offered, that shows the lack in honesty of management

What I want to admit the personal who are bringing the food outside usually very nice and polite ! But that time I came inside and I couldn’t find any help. The waitresses looked at me like what are you doing here! I tried to ask questions about my food but I felt like they were ignoring me . I usually a big tipper, but now I am thinking to change the place .

2022-03-22Lunch at Applebees with a good friend. I wanted a burger and I got a great one. Actually followed thru when I asked for rare. A great glass of Peach Sangria to accompany. Only drawback is the dim lighting when you enter. Very easy to trip down stair after walking in from bright sunshine.

2022-05-30I came here 3 times recently and every single time the fries were burnt and overcooked. Then the bartender station is uncleaned, plenty of flies flying around, which was such turn off. I tried to resonate with them but 3x is more than enough to time to fix it. It’s quite disappointing.

2022-03-07Saw two rats running around on the floor a few feet away from where me and my friend were sitting. We immediately notified the wait staff and our waitress didn’t even apologized for the disturbing experience. Definitely lost my appetite and was disgusted. You’d think they’d give us a discount after seeing rats running around but nope. Definitely won’t be back.
