We just went on the Great train robbery. It was a hoot, very exciting with cowboys and girls, horses and guns a blazing. Everyone was super friendly and we had great weather and have plenty of pictures and memories. In our train car (305)....we had Deputy Joy (9yr old and Deputy Oliver (2 1/2 yr old providing protection......they did an Excellent Job. Need I have to say that it was a great day......
I recently took this train ride with 3 other fellow seniors. Everything was very well organized and a very enjoyable fall foilage ride from Arcade to Curriers and back. Unfortunately the leaves were anything but at peak colors but thats Mother Nature for you. It was an enjoyable trip and one Ill definitely take again--though I think Id like to do a murder mystery ride the next time. Thank you for a wonderful ride.
Terrible experience, reserved 3 seats and 1 infant- had me sitting with a total whole family of strangers with my child.. completely uncomfortable, I complained and they didn’t care at all. They say every seat is sold, who wants to sit with strangers?! Not worth the price I paid! I do not recommend!! They’re only out to make money!
I love this place. Very simple easy trip to take your kids on. A bit crowded when your loading, but once you are all set, you can relax. Nice little county train ride, especially if you get the opportunity to ride the steam powered engine you can feel like you travel back in time. Get ready to take some awesome pictures in front of the train when it stops. I went as a kid with my grandfather, and I like to go with my kids to date. It’s that kind of place.
Ive lived around here for 50 years and the very first time Ive ever been on the railroad train in arcade conductors my God what courteous friendly they have there even the people inside the building ticket girl you asked a question she answered you gave you the right times gave you everything it was a wonderful time and I enjoyed it and I will be back again and thank you all of you very very much
Our family took the North Pole Express today and it was wonderful in every way. The whole event was organized and considerate of the children passengers. After taking off from the station, children were given a list to make for Santa and deliver in his mailbox. The ride was festive with Christmas music and the landscape was beautiful on a snowy day. Popcorn, candy, chips, and beverages were available for purchase on the train both ways. Once at the North Pole, there were many things to enjoy for the hour-long visit: reindeer, reindeer food to bring home, face painting, a wooden toy train to climb, and a refreshment stand with hot chocolate, coffee, hot dogs, cookies, etc. to purchase. There were also restrooms. The staff made it clear that everyone would have a chance to visit Santa and not to worry about waiting in line. My three-year old was amazed by his home and my husband and I were impressed. The decorations were outstanding with beautiful attention to detail. Santa himself was incredibly warm and friendly, welcoming each visitor in a way that made them comfortable. He talked with each child with full attention and gave out a treat bag. On the return trip, children were given a stuffed animal and the conductor punched each childs ticket in a special way. This event was a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday season and we will remember it fondly.
Absolutely Awesome! I can begin to say how much fun we had on the 3 hour Halloween excursion (hour ride up, hour at the turn, and hour back. The kids got to dress up. There were employees dressed up on the train. At the turn around we got to go through the engine, see animals, a nice haunted house and a snack/food pavilion. The weather was cold and raining but that made it feel even more Halloween themed. Awesome job to everyone who puts the hard work in to make this a truly memorable experience. I would recommend this to everyone!
Its a must do for any child to visit the Attica/Arcade Railroad! The excursions are fun and themed. The North Pole is VERY convincing. We have a 14 year old boy who still hears Santas bells ringing, partly because of this experience every year.Weve done fall trips and mysteries as well. It may be far to drive, but it is worth the experience for you and your family or group. No disappointments!
My son loves riding this train, we try to go at least once every summer. The ride is the perfect amount of time. We went on the Easter train ride this time, which was cute. He got to see the Easter Bunny, do an egg hunt and enjoy some candy from the bunny. As an added bonus he also got to picked a stuffed bunny animal to bring home. There is also a little concession stand with snacks n drinks on the train as well as additional food items for purchase at the stop.
For our anniversary my wife and I attended the wines tasters train ride which happened to be on the exact date of our anniversary so it was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed both the wine and the train ride through the country side. The staff was very friendly and the hot dog at the half way point was delicious! We hope to take our kiddos the next time we take a train ride, without the wine of course!
Took my daughters for the Christmas train ride to see Santa at the North Pole. My daughters absolutely loved it and cant wait for next year. The prices for things are more than reasonable and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The ride is about 40 minutes each way with time in between to see santa, reindeer and a few activities. Highly recommend and I will be going next year. They offer train rides throughout the year with some theme based and dinner rides.
A trip to the North Pole was really enjoyed by the family. The experience and fun was enhanced by the wonderful folks running the train and the North Pole stop. In case you need assistance with handicapped individuals, they are more than able to accommodate. Something the other tourist train in the area is not able to provide. With heated cars and warm service, the Arcade & Attica RR delivers!
Wanted to do something different with my 80 yr old aunt so booked tickets on the Fall Foliage Ride. Had heard from others that the A&A was longer and better than the Medina version. The train ride itself was fine...although the above head heat was tad too toasty. The train conductors were great! Good humored, knowledgeable and friendly. The story of the train and its acquistion is very interesting history!!There was this cute older couple that went from cabin to cabin...he played an accordion and they both sang old songs that made everyone smile. Those that knew the songs joined in a bit. If you decide to take this ride please tip and/or at least clap!!At the half way point, we stopped got out while train engine got turned around. Theres a shed type building that serves cider donuts, cider (both hot and cold), coffee, hot dogs and chili. Also a TINY gift shop area that sells jams, honey and few little jewelry items. My aunt bought the holiday jam...honestly we got it home excited to try it as it LOOKED yummy and ingredients sounded delightful but taste was totally bland. On the trip back, they pass out free small bags of popcorn...The bummer part of the trip was that we came to see FALL FOLIAGE...there really WASNT ANY. I expected to ride thru areas of dense scenery and colors...we were sadly disappointed. We saw more foliage on the back road trek to and from home!!It was a day spent doing something with my aunt so THAT is a good day.
A beautiful and scenic railroad experience. The rail cars are picture perfect. The train station in the center of town is so nostalgic. The line from Arcade to Attica is full of beautiful landscapes with a creek running along the tracks. If you go for the Christmas train, you will not be disappointed.
If I could give 10 stars I would! I am so very thankful for the employees at Arcade & Attica Railroad. I took my son on the polar express ride on Sunday 12/17/17 at 2:30 and to say we enjoyed it is an understatement. What made the ride so special was when my son adamantly refused to see Santa as he is a little scared and then changed his mind at the last second. One of the “elves” overheard me tell my son it was too late and she made sure he got in to see Santa. They held the train up a few minutes while my son had a little visit with Santa. My son was able to stand at his safe distance and tell Santa what he wanted. Santa listened and asked all sorts of questions to try and make my son feel comfortable. To witness this interaction and feel the patience for my son and his fear was everything. Thank you to all the workers at Arcade yesterday as it was truly a magical experience for not only my son but for me and my family as well.
This is the real McCoy from the rebuilt station to the coal fired steam engine. The volunteers/staff are entertaining and friendly. This historic short line railway makes a scenic run several miles to a restored depot/museum and a food stand where passengers have time to grab a bite to eat, purchase some goodies from local vendors, and tour the museum. They allow passengers to step up on the engine to view the engines controls and feel the heat of the fire. The engine is turned around and the train returns to Arcade. Worth the price.
Very disappointing ride on October 10th. Not very scenic past cornfields and dead trees. Not a two excursion on the train. We did not leave the station until 2:30. After 30 minutes the train stopped and we were told we would be there for about an hour. Then back on the same tracks for another 30 minutes. NOT a two hr scenic excursion at all!
Re-enactment of the Polar Express movie. Very nice train ride to visit Santa Claus at the North Pole. You can pet the reindeer. Sit, talk and take pictures with Santa. Plenty of photo opportunities. Cafe/Concession stand at boarding station and at North Pole station. Dont forget to get the hot chocolate. Plenty of seating. Reservations a must. There were several groups that were family related and had done this trip together a number of times as a family tradition. This was our first time. It was a nice experience certificate.
Perfect for ages 2 to 10. 45 min each way with a break at the turn around. Plusses (1) You can get up close and personal (2) All the requisite sights and sounds (3) penny crushing fun in Attica (4) Just right length for young kids attention span. (5) Open car and windowed cars (6) Fairly scenic run. Cons (1) Limited bathroom opportunities when its in motion.
The cars are about a hundred years old, most give or take a year or so. The diesel engine is newer, but the old steam engine is easily older than you and me (probably combined). Often a bit uncomfortable temperature wise, but a short trip (often very slow) with good scenery. You would swear that it is still the 19th Century by the views. Dress warm and bring a blanket in the fall or spring and expect to sweat in summer. They also have specials with meals, and/or wine and beer tasting. Fall and Christmas mostly.
I use a WalkerI was reassured that it was handicap accessible. The steps up into the car of the train was painful. Not handicap. When we arrived at the Curriers Station the exit off.the train was a very long walk to the dining building and painful. Had to push the Walker across grass and stones. Very tiring.
A great outing to take as a family, or as a couple, or group of friends. One is reminded of the days of steam engines, with all the accompanying noises of whistles when approaching roadways, steam expelling, and of course, the clackity clack of the tracks. Refreshments are available when the trains turns around to return to Arcade. Approximately an hours journey each way.

2021-10-17We did the ales and rails trip. It was OUTSTANDING! The staff was great, hardworking, and ran a great train. Staff from Windy Brewery were on board for the ales part. This was worth every penny as this isnt a cheap operation to run. We will be back!

2022-03-20Did this with the family in the fall. Sat in the caboose all the way in the back. Seats were not very comfortable as you’re sitting on a solid wood bench with no back support. When we got to the destination, there really wasn’t a lot to do. People kept putting coins on the track. No one told us the history of it or that the train would be going over the track if you wanted a souvenir. Would’ve been cool to know that to get the experience for the kids. Disappointing that we missed out on what could have been a cool experience and takeaway.

2019-04-17Weve been to A&A Railroad 3 times over the years. Our kids always have fun. Last time we went on the Easter train. A Easter egg hunt and meeting with the bunny was included. Lunch and snacks in the car are additional but priced reasonably. The staff is very friendly and help little ones on and off the cars. Will probably do a Polar Express next year

2016-12-09I might rate this higher if the website were more informative because we would have been better prepared. We came with our ten and four year old for the polar express. We were told to arrive an hour early for our 4 pm trip. We sat around for an hour. Then it was an hour to the north pole going very slow through albeit pretty country side. Then there are snacks and a huge line to see Santa. Granted the Santa experience is super authentic. But we are stuck an hour and a half and its 25 degrees out. We werent aware of the lack of warmth or shelter and while we were dressed for Winter you really need snow boots and snow pants and warm hats. Dress like you are going skiing. The shelter with snacks is overrun with no room so we just sat on the train for an hour waiting for everyone because it was the only warm spot. Return at just before 8 makes it a 5 hour trip. Every kid on the train was coughing and screaming and crying for the return trip.

2021-12-06We booked the Santa’s Wonderland Express. In total 25 of us booked. When we booked (all the same day) we chose specific seats that we could all be together. When we arrived at the train station they had us all separated and in different cars. The North Pole was very muddy, my kid slipped and fell 3 times. Some of the staff weren’t very friendly. Seeing Santa was nice, everything else was quite a let down.
