Smallest hotel roomLiterally the smallest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. No joke. The website indicates 197 sq feet yet none of the three rooms the incredibly warm and accommodating on-duty manager showed me got to that square footage. They were all in the 150 -170 sq foot range. Basically a large walk in closet. Very small, even by NYC standards. Apparently their largest room maxes out at 215sq feet. Also, many of the rooms face a dark indoor corridor facing commercial office buildings. The hotel marketing the rooms as “cozy” while promoting the under bed storage is disingenuous and frankly insulting. The rooms are uncomfortable. Especially if you are a couple and spending more than 1 night.Yes they have nice toiletries, though the one (only) Frette bathrobe in the room is so thin it can’t possibly dry an adult size human. And, they do offer Nespresso coffee pods. The staff was pleasant and professional, and there is somewhat of a cool yet unwelcoming vibe to the overall hotel aesthetic. The breakfast consisted of pastries and coffee. Only served Monday through Friday currently as their restaurant is still closed. The location is convenient.Overall we regret choosing this hotel for our three night stay. The room was just too uncomfortable for two people, even though we spent most of our time out and about. The extra amenities they offer didn’t make up for this principle and critical flaw. One and done.
This hotel is so/so. The good… the location & nicely renovated rooms. The bad… you can’t control the air temp yourself, the rooms are super small, the TV did not work, the ice is on the 10th floor and no ice bucket, it’s a long haul to get ice depending on which floor you are on. I feel like there are better places to stay!
So many great things to say about our experience. My wife and I planned a long weekend getaway for her birthday in January. Last time we visited NYC was 13 years ago which I proposed to my now wife of 11 years. My wife booked our stay at the Archer Hotel. Soon as we walked in a young man Andrew checked us in. While checking in I asked Andrew for his local spots for good food and vibes. He suggested Mad Dog & Beans and was exactly what we wanted. After some good spirts and best nachos ever we walked back to our room. Soon as we walk back into the lobby Andrew greets us by name asking our thoughts on Mad Dog and if we needed anything. Walked into our room to find a bottle of bubbly with a happy bday card to my wife. During our visit a winter storm hit our home state of North Carolina which flights were cancelled and we was blessed with one extra night. We are planning a trip back next year with our kiddos and will be staying at the Archer Hotel. The room was perfect with amazing view of the Empire State Building. Some reviews complain about the room size being small which I dont understand but I also dont go on trips to lay in a room. The entire staff from front desk to cleaning service was above and beyond. I shared elevators a few times with different staff members and everyone was nice seemed very happy. Kind of like chick-fil-a employees hands down the happiest fast food employees I have ever seen. Cheers!!
I haven’t stayed in this Hotel. But I work across... Please close the blinds in your rooms. People in the offices can see everything you do, from people lying on the beds to using the restroom, changing, intimacy, and even undressing to take a shower. PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND. I hope if you stay in these rooms, the hotel advises you to close the blinds.
I’m a Hilton loyalist cuz use their credit card a lot. It was almost an accident I booked my two nights stay at Archer. And I love everything. The interior is very modern and has a clear personality. The staff is super friendly. And the maid/room service is just better than all other 5-star hotel’s I’ve seen. They tidied my room twice a day. And they would fold my clothes and shirts and place them on the chair. They even organized the long wires of my phone charger — I simply have never had this at any other hotel before. I am so impressed. The only only minor thing was that the AC was down the first night for quite a bit. I called the front desk many times. And they were always very patient. (AC eventually came back that night)Oh and the rooftop bar at this hotel is amazing. I lived in Manhattan for two years and this is def one of the greatest. Great music. Great vibe. Not a lot of tourists. And fantastic view of the Empire State Building.
We love staying at the Archer in Austin because of the great service and comfortable rooms. Manhattan was no different. Great service and comfortable rooms. It was pleasant in visiting with the staff to hear that much of the staff has been together for a long time and have loyalty to the company they work for. And you can tell because they set the stage for a very inviting stay.
Hotel is very modern, clean and in a great location! Small room but who cares we aren’t staying in this room long lol… everything is updated and comfortable. They made it easy to store your suitcases under bed for more floor room.My COMPLAINTThe view we got was great besides the time of day where you can tell the windows aren’t clean on the outside so it’s an obstructed view of the Empire State Building. They have a indoor and outdoor roof top bar that’s open from 4-10 or later on certain days to see an amazing view of the Empire State Building along with pretty good food choices!Beautiful bar and entry way!We didn’t have to wear a mask it was a choice so that was nice!I like the the elevator is tap key to use it for safety.Free water and caramel taffyParking is valet or they use the parking garage is about $65
Standing 22 stories above New Yorks Garment District, the Archer Hotel is as industrial-chic as its surrounding neighborhood, with glass-and-steel exteriors, exposed brick walls, and 180 guest rooms full of decor ranging from tufted leather headboards to subway-tile bathrooms. You can also expect tons of luxurious-meets-quirky touches, such as Malin+Goetz bath products and slippers embroidered with mustaches and lipstick kisses. The hotels main appeal, however, lies outside of the rooms—specifically at the 22nd-floor Spyglass Rooftop Bar. Here youll find some of the citys best views of the Empire State and Chrysler Buildings, plus signature cocktails like the Archer Palmer, a spin on the Arnold-classic made with black tea–infused gin, lemon, and simple syrup.
Rooms are definitely small but neat. Modern industrial vibes. Complimentary sweet treats and a bathrobe. The view of the Empire State building is worthwhile. Other than the occasional opening/closing door and people talking, the hotel was surprisingly silent (which I loved). The bed was one of most comfortable that we tried, but they do run soft. Pillows are even softer and collapse after awhile. Reasonable rates and great location. Highly recommended!
We recently stayed 3 nights and chose this hotel because of a few articles and reviews noting how vegan friendly it is. This was not our experience. The staff are great and the typically small rooms were very well appointed and comfortable. The rooftop bar has a few items that can be prepared vegan and the in room toiletries are cruelty free, so those were the positives. The welcome caramel in our room was not vegan. When I asked if it was possible to get nondairy creamer for the in room coffee service, I was told they didnt have any. The coffee and pastry service each morning did not have a vegan pastry option. We got a chocolate treat with housekeeping service one day, also not vegan. I enjoyed the hotel but likely wouldnt stay again for those reasons only. If you arent vegan then theres no reason not to stay here, so I would recommend it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We will be coming back for sure. The staff was super friendly and helpful. When we checked in they allowed us to check-in 5 hours early which was very kind of them as we got in quite early in the day.As for our bedroom it was very clean and cozy! They added some great touches as well; waters, caramels, and s’mores chocolates for Christmas. The Malin + Goetz toiletries are such an amazing touch as well. The bed was so comfortable and the pillows were perfect. Considering it was a small NYC hotel room, the design of the room itself was carefully thought out in order to make your stay that much more comfy.See you again Archer!
The room was very small but maybe comparable to other Manhattan hotels. ?? I appreciated being close to the subway, the Nespresso machine in our room, the personal care products and their customer care especially when we asked them to change out our bedding for hypo-allergenic materials at 2am. Also appreciated the rooftop terrace and the $20 credit there for booking directly on their website (I had to ask about this though. It wasnt acknowledged until I asked about it).
The best hotel in New York! We got here by accident, we had reservations in another hotel, that was cancel at last minute. It was 10pm, we’ve been driving for 24 hours, and the this beautiful hotel appears. Since the first moment we fall in love, we were with our dog so we were worried about -those- looks, but here, not at all! All the crew were so nice to us and to our baby, they even gave him a ball, some treats and a comfy bed! About the rooms, very Art Deco, really love it! Also, they have the best pillows ever, no joke. The bathrooms are so amazing, they have this cool frameless bathroom doors, all glass, just perfect. The hotel also has an incredible rooftop where you can see the Empire State!Evan was the best ever! We will definitely be back, we had the best experience!
Elegant, beautiful, and upscale. The room at Archer Hotel was refreshingly comfortable and the view was breathtaking. The rooftop bar was great, food and drinks was delicious and service was a 10 .. Everyone at the front desk was professional courtesy and very nice! Cant wait to go back......10 for the service!
Great (albeit tiny) rooms and friendly staff, except... DON’T get a room next to the elevator! We got unlucky and heard a variety of elevator noises (clicks/rattling/etc) every single time the elevator moved. Definitely made it hard to get sleep. Other than that, the hotel itself is clean and new, and the rooftop bar has a beautiful view of the Empire State Building.
Love this hotel!First time staying here but I am definitely coming back.Beautiful rooms. Very cozy! You have everything you need. The staff are great, super friendly!Everything is really clean and secure!Dont waist time just make your reservation here if you are planning to come to NY!
Had an awesome stay at the Archer hotel this past weekend! The location was walking distance to just about everything. The room was pretty small but very nice and clean and had an awesome view of the Empire State Building. We felt very welcomed and well taken care of by the staff (especially Scott- he was awesome). Scott made our stay phenomenal! Would definitely recommend to my friends and family
Millennium tower down the street has NOTHING on this place.Customer service is outstanding. Paul was Great! The room I was in was Stupendous.Everything was CLEAN!Only thing I would recommend, is having the water heater turned up because the shower was like warm at best. Clearly they’re trying to avoid a lawsuit or something but all in all this place was FANTASTIC.Which I had a picture of the bathroom as well.Perfect.
The staff is very friendly. The room is nice except for that it’s a little bit small for two people. I really like the location, it’s very central to New York City. The bed is very nice which is quite important if you’re staying there for more than a few days. The shower was also nice with tile on the floor and good water pressure with a decent showerhead. Overall would recommend.
Rooms are incredibly small even based on New York’s standard. The front desk manager was rude and had an attitude multiple days in a row. The dog policy requires you not to leave your dog in the room alone - so how do you go to dinner / plays / non dog friendly activities without leaving your dog in the room? The lobby is underwhelming and the staff in general weren’t kind. This hotel needs new management. Stay somewhere else for the price.
Thanks to my husband for planning the trip and for booking this hotel for my birthday; and to the Archer hotel for such a wonderful experience. The hotel was small but, packed with a larger than life inviting experience. View from the room of the Empire State Building light show was phenomenal. We arrived and each time you enter and exit you are greeted from each employee present. Our room was on the 19th floor and the elevators were extremely fast arriving to pick you up.We received complimentary male and female slippers, 2 Fuji waters, balloons, candy and a birthday cupcake. There was a a sky bar frequented by guests and outside customers as well by reservation.Parking package was an option which my hubby purchased for $ 70 with no in and outprivileges. Parking is a few blocks up the street from the hotel. (Once you figure out the subway system, there is no need for your car.) It was a good thing to have the package with the hotel because the price would’ve been $ 130 for 2 days with Champion - theparking company the hotel has the agreement with. Thanks for the hospitality Archer!
The service here was one of the best I’ve experienced in a long time. Scott greeted us and it felt like he owned the hotel due to his over and above helpfulness and willingness to go the extra mile. Evan was also very cool in making sure I got what I needed. At one point, he was clearly on break and stepped in to help me with something I needed. As far at the room, we were lucky to have double height ceilings which made the room seem a lot bigger then it really was. The Nespresso machine was a a pleasant surprise as well.10/10 would stay here again!
Loved this boutique hotel and all of the pampering weve received there this past weekend! Stayed there for 3 nights. The rooms are small, but cozy. The coffee is great and regularly replenished. The level of customer service is exceptional. Our early check in request was enthusiastically accommodated and the staff added many little touches to make our stay comfortable and memorable, like leaving some chocolate or fortunate cookies in our room before weve returned each evening. The rooftop patio is also very nice!
This hotel is so charming. My husband and I loved the industrial/boutique vibe of the hotel. All of the staff members were exceptionally attentive & sweet. Our one complaint is the size of the room. The bed was the whole room, couldn’t really walk around much. The bathroom was gorgeous though. I recommend staying here for a romantic weekend getaway or if you’re traveling by yourself.
Yes, tiny rooms but clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Shower had perfect water pressure and bathroom was overall nice (and not tiny). Room service food a bit greasy but otherwise good/as expected. The cocktail bar upstairs is amazing, staff is helpful. Would stay again.
This hotel is amazing! We decided to book a room at the Archer Hotel because we had a nightmare experience at an airbnb. This place is family friendly yet it feels very sophisticated. As soon as we came in they had a toy gift for our son. There were children’s books at our room. The rooms are small but that’s just New York. They are clean and beautiful. Full of charming little touches. And bathrooms are comfortable. The staff is kind and helpful. You don’t feel rushed or dismissed like it can usually happen in a fast paced city like New York. There’s a wonderful restaurant on the first floor, a gorgeous rooftop. Centrally located. These people know about hospitality. This place is a gem can’t wait to come back!
OH WOW!!! Design, design, design... and not just for the sake of design. Kick in some stellar functionality and you have a combination for a refreshing stay with a true professional hotelier. An extraordinarily small room (standard for NY) feels GREAT!!! I mean - WELL DONE. So many tricks to make GREAT use of space, and because the window is over sized, you feel enveloped in the sky. It is NYC, so... you see buildings... but you SEE. Im not a fan of black and white (VOID of color), but somehow they made this black and white space feel organic, living and livable. I felt totally spoiled... giving me a wonderful piece of chocolate at check in (no turn down with virus), and in the room was two more pieces of NYC created candies... complete with complementary waters. Okay... because there is no housekeeping during your stay, they leave extra soap in the room... I feel guilty for taking ALL OF IT... because it smelled wonderful and I want to remember. MORE GOOD STUFF: HVAC is perfect, Wifi FAST, beds like heaven... bathrooms small, but NO feeling of being cramped, high design and offers true luxury. It isnt that this hotel is better than the Peninsula Hotel - at a fraction of the price; it is that they seem to have thought things out just a little better... complete with this cubbies by the desk - open so you dont forget anything when you leave... or the extra mirrors and the killer lighting. Oh my... I wish, I wish I did my business as well as the Archer does theirs!!! All this, and a very reasonable price!
Didn’t have many amenities. Room was really small, no parking, no breakfast and no pool. One guy at front desk was very unhelpful in assisting us with getting a cab or even a cab number (since we’re from the south and rarely see cabs). Not worth the price and won’t be going again. It is in a good location though.
Absolutely wonderful stay! Staff was so charming. Attentive to any need. They go above and beyond what I would consider great service. As a guest I felt comfortable and welcome every time I walked through the lobby or sat at any table.. As soon I got out of my taxi I was greeted and made to feel comfortable before even stepping foot into the hotel.
I just want to take a moment to thank the staff for making this such a great experience. I know things are tough right now with COVID going on. THIS hotel went above and beyond to make this entire experience super safe for their guests. It was my first time in NYC, and in an Archer hotel. I’m sure it won’t be my last. Thank you so much for everything you guys have done ! I appreciate it more then you will ever know.Kudos to their staff 🖤
The rooms are small but elegant. Large windows, brick accent wall, ultra-high ceilings create a loft-feeling. The bathrooms are new (Paris metro-tile-style) with a great walk-in shower, and 100% clean. Beds are comfy. There is a nespresso coffee machine (six capsules provided), and many more thought-through details. Wifi is fast. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Out of many, many hotels visited in NYC, this one offers the best price-value deal. The location is central. There is a valet parking garage right in front of the hotel. Would certainly come again.
Favorite hotel ever. Love this place. Rooms are just so comfortable, with a daily treat and turn down service included, luxury robes and bathroom bits too.Good coffee machine in the rooms and a minibar as well as your own fridge for your own beers.Staff couldnt be more helpful and friendly. The bar itself and Charlie Palmer steak are just a delight for food and drinks. Rooftop bar is a stunner with great views of the empire state
I have FINALLY FOUND my GO TO HOTEL when I travel to NYC!! The Archer Hotel staff are friendly, courteous and go the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as it should be. We were fortunate enough to get a room on the 21st Floor looking at the Empire State Building & the view was spectacular!! The room was very clean, pleasantly appointed and the mattress was very soft & comfortable ... I wont be going anywhere else!! ARCHER HOTEL YOU ROCK!! ❤❤❤
Upscale ambience and especially great location are the draws here. The rooms are tiny and lack storage/convenience, despite the contemporary and luxe decor. We were only there for a weekend, so this wasnt such a huge deal, but with only one piece of medium-size luggage each, we still found ourselves wishing for more space to keep our stuff out of the way, especially in such cozy accommodations. Be advised; if youre staying in the City longer than we did or need to bring extra baggage, or if you like to have lots of room to stretch out and relax, you might want to stay elsewhere. I am happy to say that we found the experience to be quite satisfactory, otherwise.
We loved the hotel! The welcome when we checked in was great and hardly anything to complain about from that point on.Our room with Empire view was amazing, the lobby bar and Spyglass were great for a drink after busy days around the city. The treats in our room were always nice to find.....especially the plate of brownies, cookies and fruit!A classy feel to the hotel yet not pretentious. All the staff we encountered couldnt have been more helpful.
The hotel is in a excellent place in the heart of Manhattan. The service provided is excellent and so is the cleanliness of the hotel. The staff is very helpfull. You also get a great view of Empire State Building from the rooftop bar. Every night we got some treats wich was a nice surprise. The only downside is that the rooms are very tiny.
The empire state building view room is fantastic. Floor to ceiling windows at 15-20 feet high. They gave us late check out and held our bags while we walked around the city. The Mini bar is very reasonably priced. This is the first time ive used a mini bar..... 5 dollar shots and 3 dollar sodas and snacks. It is priced to be useful and my wife and I appreciated that.We left during the evening and came back to find theyd done a turn down service while we were away. Id have found this unnerving if they hadnt done such an immaculate job and left free treats. The room is extremely nice, the service impeccable, and i feel like I got a lot for my money. Id stay here again and recommend to others
Loved our stay. Rooms were comfortable and beautifully decorated, if a bit tight, even for NYC. I thought the cookies every night were a great touch. Service was excellent as well. Great Lobby and restaurant, and we loved the lobby bar and the rooftop bar. Wine prices were a bit much, even for NYC - but the minibar prices were actually not so bad. Ill definitely be back.
Rooms are small but clean! Love the rooftop bar, really amazing view, food and service! Staff are really accommodating and nice! I misplaced my belongings and they were quick to respond to me and return my package right away (fedex to Boston) in time for me to fly back to Toronto. Great location in nyc and steps to Times Square and Broadway!
From the moment we walked through the door, I knew I had chosen well. We wanted a romantic getaway and your hotel was perfect. I had heard the rooms were small but they were very well appointed and spotlessly clean. The bed was a dream, as was the shower. Who wouldnt love Nespresso in the morning?? We have actually purchased one since weve been home we loved it so much. The central location was perfect and the vibe was chic but relaxed. We were very comfortable. The staff were among the best I have ever met, and I have travelled extensively. I will highly recommend your hotel and we will be back again, first chance we get!
Lovely hotel, great views of the Empire State building and friendly and welcoming staff. The toiletries were great, room and bathroom was clean, well presented and in excellent condition. I would have given it a 5 except the room was smaller than expected and there was noise from the lift.
Stayed here over a weekend and really loved it. The location is great - just south of Times Square, so easy walking distance to there, the Empire State, Rockefeller tower, Grand Central, even Central Park is an easy walk away. The rooms themselves are not big, but they are definitely good, and the bathroom is great. The rooftop bar has good views, and the bar prices (lobby and rooftop) are pretty standard for New York. We didnt eat at the restaurant, but the food looked good. The staff were friendly and helpful. All in all, a great hotel, and 1 I would definitely return to.
A very nice and conveniently located hotel in Manhattan. Rooms are small, but cozy and brilliantly designed given the space constraints. All of that is forgotten with the size of the bathrooms. The showers are heavenly and will quickly refresh you after a day in the city. The staff couldnt have been more friendly and accommodating. Great value and experience!
Good location. Nice roof top bar. Friendly staff. Expensive, but good value for the money in comparancy. Small rooms (hardly enough space for 2 suitcases). Lazy house keepers. Loud air condition and because of the small space it is hard to make be really comfortable during nights.
Love this place for its great location and excellent staff. Concierge Anthony is especially wonderful. The rooms are small (which doesn’t bother me but I wanted to note it) and the beds are on the soft side (again, no problem for me but one member of our group was uncomfortable due to this).Pluses: Tasty evening treats (a piece of chocolate, cookies) delivered to your room with turndown, robe, slippers, safe big enough for a laptop, good water pressure (rain type shower but not the very light tropical drizzle kind). Cocktails at the downstairs bar are very good, and there is a happy hour. The happy hour snacks are reasonably priced and tasty. Roof bar is fun when it is nice out.Meh: Breakfast at the hotel is only okay and felt a bit overpriced ($5 for a side of two basic pieces of white bread with a small pat of butter).Pro tips: When you book direct you usually get a $20 voucher card to use on food or drinks at the hotel during your stay. They have AAA rates.
Very nicely appointed, very modern rooms, if small. Had lots of nice little touches: $20 card toward purchases made at the hotel (including the bar), candies, suggested books in the room, nespresso machine, all free of charge. The hotel restaurant seemed very nice, though I didnt eat there. The Spyglass rooftop bar had wonderful view of the Empire State Building, though the drinks are expensive.Overall an excellent experience.
I love this hotel! All staff is very accommodating and it is walking distance to everything. They definitely go out of their way to make you feel at home! I scored a great view of the Empire State Building from my window and twice a day they leave you with a treat! Bathrooms are large and fantastic! I will definitely be staying here again
Great hotel, located in mid town and ideally placed for getting around. They also have a rooftop bar with a gorgeous view of the Empire State Building-however you will pay the price with the drinks menu. Lovely rooms, although small, well cleaned and equipped and a good restaurant downstairs should you not want to venture far. No gym in the hotel, however its only a block away which is complimentary with your stay should you want to work out. Like all Hotels in NY, you wont exactly get a beautiful view out the window (more like office next door). I stay here a lot for work as its close to my offices, I prob wouldnt pay the price if I was coming for pleasure though.
Our family of six travelers had a great experience at the NYC Archer. The location is ideal, the rooms are clean, and the beds are very comfortable. What really made our stay exemplary was the friendly, accommodating staff. I don’t think we’ve received better care at any other hotel. We will defiantly stay here again and recommend this hotel to others!
Enjoyed my stay at The Archer. It was a convenient walk to Times Square and close to a few subway stations. The hotel rooms are not so big, but there are clean and well decorated. I had a view of the Empire State building from my window (facing downtown). There is a rooftop bar with an outdoor patio which was a nice place to relax at the end of the day. The hotel also has an active lobby bar and resturaunt.
Very welcoming and friendly staff. Clean and modern room. Loved the welcome desserts. Room was on the small side, but most certainly manageable.Dinner was very good. I was solo so ate in the bar. I had pizza and bowl of mushrooms. Loved them both. Serving size was large. I could not finish them.Upon my checkout I asked for a cab and the front desk did not disappoint. As Arnold said, Ill be back.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Archer New York. From the amazingly comfortable bed and pillows to the friendly service. We needed a few special items, like a sewing kit, and they were at our door within minutes of the request. The turn down service treats and staff were lovely. The location was excellent. Our only criticism would be the size of the room as it was tiny. For a couple it was fine but anyone with a lot of baggage would be hard pressed to find space. We would stay again.
Very nice boutique hotel with very friendly staff and warm feelings. We felt safe and well looked after. However the rooms were rather small and maybe expected because of the location. I personally found the beds too soft for me but the rest of the family found the comfortableThe concierge suggestions were awesome. We really enjoyed NY thanks to you
This was our familys first trip to NY and the hotel topped everything off from the beautiful although small room however we just slept there. The special treats left each night and the turn down service was a nice touch. The service was impeccable! Paul took especially great care of us! Thank you for a great place to stay! We will be back!
I loved everything about this hotel but what really made it standout was the staff. From front desk staff to the person that escorted us to our room to the bartender at the rooftop bar, we were provided exceptional service. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly without being solicitous. And of course the room was very well appointed! We loved the robes, toiletries and Nepresso machine.
We had a delightful stay and were consistently greeted and accommodated by the hotels staff. The room was well appointed, comfortable and efficient, though we could have used a bit more storage space for a four night stay. The location of the hotel is ideal - within walking distance to so many attractions, but on a relatively quiet street. A wonderfully memorable adventure during the blizzard of 2016!
I loved the location. Everything was walking distance. The staff members were nice and welcoming. The rooms were clean, and bed/pillows were super comfortable. I seriously felt like I was in a mini apartment, and not so much a hotel room. Definitely gives you that NY experience. I also liked that every night Archer would leave you a card and a tasty little treat from local candy stores or bakeries. When it rains they leave umbrellas out for their guests to borrow, and thought it was an awesome gesture.
Was apprehensive when I booked this hotel having seen reviews about how small the rooms were. Yes theyre not the biggest but I found them perfectly adequate for me and my adult son (who is 6ft 4 so takes up quite a bit of space!). Beds were comfy with quite a deep space underneath to fit big suitcases etc, pleasant decor, very clean, little treats left by the maid every evening, staff at reception very friendly and helpful and the rooftop bar, though quite pricey-but this is new york-added an extra special feel to our holiday. We had a fantastic stay and if ever im lucky enough to go back to new York wouldnt i hesitate to book the archer hotel again!!
Central location. Spotless rooms & bathrooms, with high quality fittings. Exceptional staff, nothing too much trouble. Good breakfast too. However the jewel in the crown has to be the roof top bar with probably the best view of the Empire State Building in the whole of Manhatton.
This is a great boutique Hotel centrally and conveniently located. The rooms are small, but modern and beautifully decorated. The service is great and the food at the restaurant is amazing; we tried a mushroom risotto paired with an Italian wine recommended by the sommelier . It also has an awesome view of the Empire State Building.
Archer hotel was excellent. Five stars is a difficult rafting system because I would more accurately like to give them a 9/10. Everything was perfect except I was surprised by how much the hold was on my card for incidentals. The amount was high but that would have been okay if I had advanced notice. Truly a great hotel otherwise. The service was awesome and the bed was very comfortable.
Very clean, fashionable and greatly situated. Friendly staff, awesome burger at Fabrick, really nice rooftop bar at 22d floor. Housekeeping really really good. Wifi was also excellent. Only downside, size of the room; Large extremely comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Rest of furniture were a bit cramped and not much space over. Dont let that deter you though. Recommended without a doubt!
Nice, laid back hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. Design of the small bedroom seemed a little more style over substance as the room was poorly lit, lacked any real useful hanging space or any drawers to keep clothes in. The bathroom also lacked any hooks to hang towels. Not sure guests were really thought about during the design! However, the positives were a comfy bed, free wifi, nice toiletries, slippers, robe and little treats at the turndown service each evening.
The staff was phenomenal and the rooms were spacious. We had an Empire View and it was worth every penny to go to bed and wake up to that view. Truly a New York experience and the Archer delivered what it promised. Drinks in the bar were incredibly expensive, so the Archer dollars really helped to augment the high prices. The only complaint was that we were greeted with amazing candies and it was hit or miss for the rest of our stay- sometimes they would be left and sometimes they were forgotten. Im a business owner and I think consistency for customers is paramount. I would have rather had no candies than to have been disappointed when they would forget. They also forgot to refill our coffees- we LOVED the coffee, so we drank a lot of it. All in all, it was the best hotel experience I have had in NYC and I will stay there the next time I come and visit and the next time I am able to recommend it to anyone visiting! Also, the location was perfect- easy to subway, buses, & basically everything!
Great location, the rooftop bar has amazing views of the empire state building, brunch very good value in nice setting. My only niggle is the size of the rooms but Im still giving this hotel five stars because it deserves it. Bed time treats left on the evening turn down add to the experience. Would stay again!
Rooms very small, but with all the right amenities. Unfortunately our view was of a brick wall but in fairness we spent very little time there. Location was absolutely perfect and for that reason alone I would come back. Staff are amazing and would do anything for you. Sky bar was OK, avoid between 5 and half 7 to avoid the yuppies and business types
I booked 5 rooms, from London, as we were in New York for my brothers birthday. When we arrived, we were given a warm welcome, with calm efficiency, and the staff could not have been more accommodating. In fact, we were early but our rooms were ready and we were delighted to be able to move in before leaving to explore NYC.The rooms are stylish and comfortable, with excellent storage and perfect temperature control. I prefer not to have air conditioning when I sleep, and was delighted to find that the windows open. The shower rooms are modern and well appointed, and v.clean. The beds are extremely comfortable.Above all, the staff, without exception are simply delightful, helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and so willing to go the extra mile. They made our stay in New York so easy, and were wonderful with recommendations for where to eat (Paul, always excellent!). They manage to smile and be engaging, however much we asked of them! The hotel is in the perfect location, too, in midtown, and though I was expecting it to be noisy, it was not.The Fabrick restaurant is high on our list of great NYC experiences, and the sommelier is a most knowledgeable guide. Again, the staff from Sarah at the front to all the restaurant staff are superb in every way. They really can make it happen!Without doubt, when I return to NYC, this will be my base ( if they have availability)
My friends and I were in the city for an annual girls weekend and had a wonderful experience at The Archer Hotel. The staff was just super attentive and made us feel like VIPs the entire stay. There were a lot of nice touches in the room and the accommodations were quite nice. The rooftop bar - Spyglass - was great and the views of the Empire State Building were amazing! Great location for everything we wanted to do while we were in town. Next time I am in NYC, I know right where Im heading - Ill definitely go back to The Archer!
We had a great stay at Archer Hotel New York. The room was very clean, the beds comfortable, and the view superb. We all found that staff to be very hospitable and giving, which made my 30th birthday even better. The one suggestion that I would have would be to thoroughly investigate other customer complaints prior to placing blame on one party. We had brought our dogs, who did bark a little too much one night, disturbing other guests. However, while we do take some responsibility, our neighbors were quite noisy coming in and out of their room very frequently. The constant slamming of doors did bother the dogs.
I booked a stay here mostly for the view but got so much more. The view is absolutely incredible, the location as well is very central to a lot of the city. Perfect to stop off to take a break mid day.The staff were equally as great as the view. From check in to check out, everyone was very helpful and so focused on making each guests stay perfect. I want to give an extra thanks to Jacob at the front desk. He checked us in and during our wait for the room, he offered a couple drink coupons for the rooftop bar.The room was small, but it packed a ton of amenities. The nespresso machine was so nice. Didnt need to buy coffee during our stay! The neighborhood was good too. Mostly just offices and a couple hotels on the street so its quiet during the night and day.If youre coming to the city, stay here. Totally worth the price which for the city, is a total value for everything you get.
Great hotel in Midtown Manhattan. It’s walking distance to Bryant Park, Times Square, Fifth Avenue shopping, Grand Central Station and the Empire State Building. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The room was super small though. I had no room to put my stuff. And if you’re traveling with someone else, then it’s harder to maneuver around the room.Make sure to check out the rooftop. It has a sweet view of the Empire State Building.
Stayed here 25/12 - 29/12 as a surprise trip for my 30th from the UK. Cracking central location, literally minutes walks from 5th Av, 6th Av, MSG, Times Sq, Empire State, Radio City Hall and Central Park.We stayed in one of the Empire State view rooms on 20th floor and although it was compact the view was superb, the bed was one of the most comfy Ive slept in and the ensuite was really stylish. Super clean and the little treats every day were a nice touch. The rooftop bar is well worth a visit to (unbeatable empire state views) and the staff were always smiley, happy and very attentive.Highly recommend Archer to anyone looking for a convenient, trendy and relaxing stay in NYC.
The Archer Hotel made us feel welcome from the first minute. Their attention to detail goes above and beyond what was expected with local treats every evening (we especially loved the sugar cookies) and a special birthday cake with a bottle of bubbly. The room itself was extremely comfortable with perfect views of the Empire State Building. The rooftop bar had delicious mixed drinks that were on par with the view and the restaurant made a delicious breakfast. The staff was very helpful and we really couldnt ask for more! A top notch boutique hotel!
Super cool hotel, great location to walk to MSG, Grand Central, Times Square. Room was clean and bathroom was great. A quiet hotel except for the a/c unit in the room, that was a little loud but after falling asleep I got use to it. Each night they left treats from the kitchen, a nice touch. I would stay again and recommend. The staff was great too, we needed ice and extra pillows and they brought right up, no wait like larger hotels.
Best hotel experience that Ive ever had.The employees go out of their way to take care of, and even pamper you. The rooms are small but comfy and stylish. The Empire State Building views from my room and Spyglass were gorgeous. I loved everything about this hotel and going forward Archer will be the only place I will stay in NYC.
Great location, very polite and helpful staff, last floor restaurant has nice view on Empire State Building, beds are very comfortable and clean, they have basically everything you need and only reason I am giving 4 stars is that if you ask me the room is not spacy enough for 4 persons. But that is just my impression, someone else maybe will like it.
Well located, stylish, friendly. Would definitely stay here again. The only two disappointments were1) the size of the room (or rather, lack thereof): Reception calls them intimately sized, I call them tiny. At a minimum, you should be able to open a suitcase without needing to place it on the bed.2) the ridiculous cost of breakfast items. However, given this is NY, you just walk 2 blocks down the street and enjoy breakfast at Culture Coffee instead.
I love the vibe, the location, the staff, the restaurant! The bed and bedding were super comfortable. It was also beautifully quiet. The only thing is that there isnt quite enough storage - I think I wore the same thing most the week as it was hard to fish in my suitcase and there was very little room to hang or put clothing :). But I would stay again, definitely. But I think thats often the case for New York, and in terms of value to cost, its fantastic.
We spent a wonderful night in NYC with friends and family. The rooms are big to say the least. The view of the Empire State Building from our room was totally impressive. The staff at the reception was extremely friendly and serviceminded. We had an amazing time and the staff was wonderful.
I stayed for just one night at the Archer to celebrate my Moms 71st birthday with a weekend in the city. The Archer was a gem and I cant wait to return with my family. The staff were friendly, helpful, and absolutely on top of their game - from the bellman to reception - even security at the rooftop bar was friendly and nice to talk to! The room was well outfitted and there were many special touches - little notes accompanied fresh cookies, special books chosen by the hotel staff, and candies in the room at check-in all made you feel truly welcome. We stay several times a year in NYC and the Archer is really a special place. The entire hotel was well kept, clean, and beautiful in design. The rooftop bar was small but inviting and the view of the Empire State was breathtaking. The location could not be beat - steps from Bryant Park, a few blocks from the Times Square area and a 15 min walk to Saks on 5th/Rockefeller Center. I wish wed had time to try Charlie Palmer Steak - but well save that for next time!
Rooms are deceiving on the website. Beds are great. The Spyglass bar was not impressive. Went up to the bar around 11:30 and could not get anyone to wait on us. Made eye contact with a server three times and got no response. Host was not paying much attention and the music was so loud you could not carry on a conversation.
My stay at the Archer Hotel was really pleasant. The staff were spectacular, friendly and most helpful. The rooms were very clean and the beds were really comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in NYC.The only thing I wish was a little better was the service in the downstairs Restaurant it was very slow and they did not have a lot of things we requested which we found strange since they were staple items that should be in a kitchen.
Staff very helpful and friendly on site. Beds are super comfy! Room was small but i expected as much for this location in the heart of Manhattan where space is premium. Location really makes this place a great stay, everything practically within walking distance. Rooftop bar is nice. Was there during Thanksgiving week so it was cold, therefore bar balcony not an option. But i imagine it would be pretty awesome during nice weather with bar totally open.My reasons for 4 stars and not 5: Did not eat at the restaurant but did have the continental breakfast via room service one morning. Grapes were very tart/bitter and dried your mouth out instantly - disgusting. You would think someone on staff would taste the fruit before serving it. No salt or pepper on tray for hard-boiled egg. Also, made initial reservation well in advance... later needed to add one more night to duration of stay. My friend, who works for Archer in Austin, sent emails well in advance to see if the additional night would be available... he never got a response. Called several times starting a few weeks prior to visit, was routed around to different people, finally to person im supposed to talk to (i guess) and it goes to voicemail. Left a detailed message but was never contacted. So yeah, poor customer service there. Had to get a room at another hotel for one night.
We stayed in a deluxe room with a view of the Empire State Building, which was too small for two people without both suitcases stowed under the bed. The service was horrible! Our room didnt get cleaned for 2 out of the 8 days we stayed because we left around 10:30am and the cleaning lady came earlier and didnt bother coming back after we left. No one offered to help me with my bags when my car arrived both coming and going and there were easily 4 people behind the front desk each time- all very friendly and smiling. I called to have my boots shined and no one was sent up to get them. They just sat outside my room all night. Our billing was messed up and still hasnt been fixed. The one positive was a gentleman behind the front desk helped me to print some work documents and was very helpful! Im easy to please and hate saying bad things, but I dont seem value in this hotel and will discourage friends from staying here.
Had a girls weekend in NYC and stayed at the Archer on 38th Street. What a nice hotel! The staff was courteous and caring and they went out of their way to be helpful, from the valet and the check in staff, to the lovely woman who did the evening turn-down service. Our room had a view of the Empire State Building and was clean and comfortable. Nice decor, bathroom was great. We would definitely stay here again.
Our first trip to New York and we couldnt of been more impressed! It was my husbands 50th and we were given a suite to celebrate and a personalised cake as well. Hotel is ideally located in midtown. on arriving we went straight up to the Spyglass bar - took our breath away with the view of the Empire State building. Our room was spacious with a walk in wet room in addition to the bathroom. Bed was so comfortable and room was amazingly so quiet - i was expecting to be woken by sirens etc ! Staff were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble and i would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants that little bit extra pzazz.
I don’t know where to begin but if I could give 10 stars I would! The hotel is beautiful and the staff honestly goes above and beyond for you! I am an essential worker and under a lot of stress and pressure, but the hospitality and warmth the staff has shown me is nothing short of amazing! They have thanked me for staying there but I am the one who is thankful! From Jacob and the front desk staff to the ever so gracious Director Jackie, Thank you Thank you Thank you
The hotel staff was very nice and had great recommendations for my first stay in New York. The standard room had a spacious (and warm) king size bed. The nightstand had convenient charging cables for your iPhone, Android phone, etc. The armoire was large and easily fit my winter coat and button up shirts with plenty of room to spare.
An awesome hotel in a perfect location. Youre just far enough from all the noise and crowds, but close enough to walk to all the main sights. The rooms are slightly small, but very well designed and furnished to feel cosy rather than cramped. The daily turn down service is a nice touch and staff are very helpful and accommodating.
“A Delight”I stayed at the Archer Hotel while in town for a meeting. It was a wonderful oasis for resting up before and after my business. The quick walk from the train station was perfect. The check in process a breeze (Thank you Paul!) The room clean and cozy and the special check in treats were a true plus. Be sure to have a drink or two at the Spyglass - the service was superb and the view outstanding! Ill be back the next time Im in the city!
Nice hotel. Great location. Small rooms. But that NYC!Small desk which i understand, but it 30% covered in candy and snacks i dont want.. EXTREMELY irritating as there is little room, and it is covered in Junk candy & nowhere to but them!Inconsistant giving of water. Some guests receive bottled water when checking in some dont. We were in room 5 nights.... some days we got water, others we didntExtremely comfortable high quality bed, matress and sheets! So overall recommended hotel!
We usually dont write any reviews but our stay at the Archer Hotel in New York definitely changed our minds. We absolutely loved it!! The Customer Service was exceptional, super fast and super nice Crew! The Bed was very comfortable and I loved the pillows so much that we are buying the same pillows!! You will not go wrong with this Hotel. Highly recommended!!!! We will definitely book with the Archer Hotel in the future!!!
מלון מצויין. מפנק, שירות טוב מאוד. מיקום מעולה.Been there 3 nights with friends.A very good service from all of the stuff.Nicely designed rooms, cleen and very convenient.Top roof pub with a very nice view.Little bottles of water are given for free, when ever you ask for.You can Also get free umbrellas when its rain.Hotel location is Excellent. Close to metro and to all major city major attractions, by foot.I definitely will come back on my next one in NYC
Great central location for visiting all of Manhattan. High quality room facilities, including a Nespresso machine. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up getting a Nespresso machine when we got home! Great view of Empire State Building from the roof top bar. High class restaurant.
I first stayed at the Archer at the recommendation of a co-worker versus another hotel nearby that we have a corporate rate at. I will never stay anywhere else while visiting the City. Visiting New York City can be very exciting, but stressful! And picking the wrong hotel can make or break your trip. As far as the hotel, you can see the central location, how chic and modern it is on the website and photos, plus, the restaurant is great for breakfast, lunch or dinner, its nice to have a yummy option so convenient. All that said, Ill take this time to speak about the best part of the Archer, you dont find on travel sites. The staff at the Archer are so genuinely nice and helpful, they are one of the main reason I come back each time! They kind of make me feel like a celebrity during each stay! During my last stay, I knew I would be out into the morning working, and they made no issue of giving me a late checkout to accommodate my needs. Another stay, last minute, I needed to print some documents for a meeting, they jumped right on it! Regardless of how much time I give myself to get to meetings, eat, leave for the airport, I always seem to be running late in NYC, and the staff at the Archer has my back.
Super small room w no dresser to put clothes. However beautiful boutique style room, great shower, comfy soft towels, and bed with super soft down everything but youre either sweating profusely underneath it or freezing on top of it. Worst part, however.... got a $250 fine for smoking in the room because they took a picture of a half-smoked joint in the bathroom. No proof it was smoked in the room! Violating, angering.
Hmm. The Archer. I love the style and decor. The staff was pretty on point. Bed was very comfy. Nice espresso machine in the room. Great slippers. However, there is NO SOUND PROOFING. The was no partying or anything like that. Yet I could hear everything in the hallways and everyone using their sinks, flushing toilets and even someones alarm clock.
I stayed during the US Open finals weekend. Wow!!! what an amazing experience and beautiful hotel to have R&R time. There is nothing like having dinner on the roof top and viewing the Empire State building just across the way all lite up in red, white and blue. I truly felt like royalty from the moment I arrived until the time I left. The staff were awesome and very helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting at anytime. Special thanks to Evan and Paul
Upon arrival to the moment we checked out, everything about Archer hotel has been a wonderful experience. All staff were extremely polite and professional. They exceeded my expectations in all possible ways. I have been telling everyone I know aboit my experience and highly suggest Archer Hotel for whenever anyone visits Manhattan. Its perfectly located in a safe and central area, close to so many points of interests and the subway. This trip was a 21st birthday gift to my goddaughter and everything was perfect in her eyes, including the hotel.
Excellent service, location, food and beds. What can I say - theres nothing like sleeping in a really comfortable bed. All the employees were helpful and courteous, the restaurant was particularly good, especially brunch, and we could get anywhere in NYC quickly from there. The motion sensor operated light in the bathroom has to go, however.
An excellent hotel in the heart of Manhattan. Friendly, personal, but not too amicable staff.Small, clean, rooms with all you need available, especially very good beds.Although situated in a busy area it does not affect your night rest. The rooms are airy and noise free.Dit not find the New York Sports club on your site beforehand. Was looking for fitnessroom.
My husband and I are New Yorkers but for his birthday weekend, we decided to spend some time in the City. The service at the hotel was excellent. The room, though tiny, was nicely decorated and comfortable (and the view of the Empire State Building was spectacular). There were a couple of small knick knacks that were a little dusty, but the bathroom was immaculate. We had dinner at David Burke Fabrick, with our family. It was my 2nd visit, first for everyone else. Everyone loved the food - and again, service excelled. We had a great stay and look forward to spending more time at the Archer in the future
“Perfect place to stay!”I LOVE the Archer Hotel!! The hotel is wonderfully appointed, updated, spotless, cozy, and perfectly located. The staff is AMAZING - supremely professional and truly caring! I brought my two young sons to see Hamilton and it was the perfect choice! We stayed 3 nights and then got stranded at La Guardia and they welcomed us back at the last minute (1 oclock am!) with open arms. I wont stay anywhere else. I cant say enough wonderful things about the Archer!
I travel a lot for business and stay in a lot of hotels. I was in NYC last week for 3 or 4 days and stayed at the Archer. Man, I love this place. Perfect location on basically 38th and 6th. Close to Grand Central, Penn Station, etc, but on a street thats a bit quieter. The rooms are great. Standard NYC size but nicely laid out. Comfortable beds. Great espresso machine in every room and great espresso. Theres a nice bar in the lobby and a fantastic rooftop bar with a balcony. The hotel doesnt have a gym, but they have a relationship with New York Sports Clubs and give you a free pass. The club is not even 2 blocks away and its excellent (even has a functional strength area with kettlebells and sleds). And most importantly: The service here is absolutely outstanding. The people who work the front desk and who generally run the hotel are absolutely incredible. These are some of the nicest, kindest, most helpful people I have ever encountered at any hotel. The only knock I have against this place is that I was not overly fond of the restaurant. I thought the restaurant was decent but nothing fantastic. Thats more an issue of personal preference and not really an issue because there are tons of other options within a few blocks.Overall, one of the best hotel stays Ive ever had. Ill be back.
Wow! What an amazing staff, exquisite customer service! My Fiance and I stayed at the Archer this past weekend for our trip to NY for our engagement shoot. We got to NY a little early, before check-in time, and the staff was accommodating to us and held our bags until our room was ready, much earlier than check-in time! We had breakfast at their restaurant and was one of the best Eggs Benedict i have ever had! The room was clean, and the complimentary water and sweets were a nice touch. However, what made our stay so amazing was that the staff were so accommodating to our needs for our engagement shoot they allowed us to check-out a little later in order to change and be ready for our shoot, they allowed us to take pictures at the beautiful roof-top bar and didnt get any attitude or complaints for the million times I asked them to pull our stuff from the storage because we had to change or grab things for our shoot around the city. A special thank you to Madeline who really made us feel at home and wanted to make sure this special day went perfect for us. Thank you Archer Hotel! Cannot wait to come back and see you all again!!
Not sure why it got an award... room is dark and small. Service is good but not outstanding. I hear noises from the elevator and other doors closing. A lot of people complimented the mattress and yeah its super comfy, but thats about the only exceptionally good thing about it. A bit overrated and overpriced.
I havent traveled to New York a lot - so I was surprised at the small size of the room; however, something tells me that is typical. I really enjoyed my stay at Archer Hotel. The service was fantastic and the restaurant downstairs was wonderful. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
The service is top notch. On vacation, the last thing I want to worry about is where Im laying my head and this place is nothing to worry about at all. The skybar is stellar with an ambience that is bar none. The restaurant in the hotel is the best. My wife and I go to New York every year, we only stay at the Archer hotel! There is none that compare!
We enjoyed our stay at Archer. Pros: The staff was helpful and attentive. Cons: The air conditioning system was running continuously, which we had to get used to - it either works or it is off. Possibilities: We wish there were more breakfast options at the hotel as restaurant prices are quite steep for families.
First time in the city, and my boyfriend actually found this hotel for us the dsy before we arrived. Lets just say, great location!! Close to the empire state building, times square, a subway stop, and pretty much central in the city. housekeeping is on it, alll day, every night wed return to our room, with our bed made and biscottis, cookies, bottles of water or caramel candies. How loved is that! 😍💗🙏🏻 Thank you. Compared to las vegas rooms or hawaii rooms, it is kindof small. But compared to other new york hotel rooms it looks actually a little bigger from what i seen and heard.
Excellent hotel, location, staff and service. Very nice, clean room with views as advertised. It was a little noisey from early in the morning (6am) with drilling outside the hotel, but overall our stay was very nice and we would recommend the hotel to others. Thank you very much.
Very nice and friendly boutique hotel that is centrally located. We were about midway up the hotel but not overly impressed with Empire views (I wouldnt be bothering which side of the hotel the room was). On the other hand the is 22nd floor bar has very impressive views. Rooms were certainly on the small side with limited space. There were clever cubby holes under the beds and neat phones which had charging cables (ours didnt work). There isnt much by way of facilities in the hotel itself but there is access to a gym across the road and a bit further on weekends (no pool unfortunately). Service was prompt and hosts were super friendly. There was v good free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Also free printing which is very handy for printing or tickets etc.! (Mega bonus).Food wise -not overly impressed with the food but there are PLENTY of breakfast/dinner options nearby. Again despite this service was great (even though they brought us a few things we didnt order).Definitely worth a pop if you want a difference from the usual big names and want/need to stay in downtown Manhattan.
We stayed for 6 nights during the snow . The room was small as others have said but very cosy and functional. The bed was so comfortable and we loved the pillows. Very nice clean bathroom and good shower. The view of the Empire State made the whole trip so special. Great bar on the roof , fantastic view. Great location , easy to get to Fifth Ave shopping , Times Square , Broadway and ESB, hop on off bus close by. Great restaurants handy too. In fact Archer was close to perfect . The only sour note was the taxi driver organised by the hotel to take us to the airport. He told us he was the hotels number 1 driver and made it clear a large tip was required even though he had already added extra to the fare to start. Ok if you are aware of high cost of trip but must be cheaper ways to do this trip, next time will get our own or take train. Overall highly recommend for a good value , luxury hotel in midtown.
Good Location. Friendly staff. Closet sized rooms described as intimate. Needed to keep curtains drawn because of office windows directly across about 50 feet away. Came back and developed bronchitis 2 days later. Not sure if picked up thru room and AC or elsewhere.Would I return? Probably not.
What can I say??!!! This place is awesome!!! Just left the hotel and I miss it already. Out of all the things in NY,the best part of my trip was the hotel stay .Great customer service!! They care about their customers and I can tell they also care about each other as a team. Very professional. My hubby agrees & he said when we come back this is the only hotel we are staying at.the rooms are clean & decent size. They are your personal tour guide as well.
I wouldnt hesitate to stay at the Archer New York again. The location was perfect, away from the really busy Times Square core but close to everything. The hotel itself was well designed to optimize the space available in an aesthetically pleasing manner. It was spotless and very well maintained. The room, although small in area was so well thought out that it felt far larger than it was.The mini bar was well stocked, free coffee and tea in the room was replenished daily and bathroom toiletries were stocked up as needed. One concierge, I believe his name was Paul, was very helpful in pointing us to a wonderful little Italian restaurant within walking distance for dinner (Lazzara’s).The area around the hotel felt very safe and taxis were plentiful.Areas for improvement:•The Archer staff should note who is checking in. I was travelling alone with my 12-year-old daughter on this trip. The staff member that checked us in spent most of her time talking about the rooftop cocktail lounge for +21 guests. This didn’t apply to us at all. Also, slippers in the room for 1 woman and 1 man, not really appropriate. This could easily have been switched out before our arrival. Also, turndown service would be nice on both beds, not just one.•Cleaning staff insisted on removing the throw blanket that is provided by the hotel from the bed and moving my personal items aside in the armoire drawer to store the folded blanket. Once the room is ‘rented’ cleaning staff should not be touching the armoire, not to mention a guest’s underwear. I felt slightly violated after this.•The light in the bathroom is on a motion sensor to conserve energy however, the light turns off mid-shower leaving the guest in total darkness in the bathroom. This is a safety concern.
We stayed 3 nights and 4 days at the Archer Hotel. Its a wonderfully run hotel with very friendly staff, fantastic rooms and a really convenient location. Id recommend this place to anybody staying, especially if you want to be centrally located with easy access to local tourist spots!
Archer is a wonderful hotel near Times Square that needs to be on everyone list of places to say. The hotel is located in a prime location, within walking distance to much. The lobby area is exquisitely designed and keeps a friendly staff at the bar and restaurant. The staff is amazing.
Stayed here for 4 nights earlier this month. The Archer Hotel is a hidden gem on a quiet street amidst the bustle of ***hattan. Easily accessible to taxi from the hotel. The staff at the hotel are all very friendly and attentive. I would recommend the Archer hotel to anyone.
This hotel was wonderful. Not only was the welcome very friendly, the staff knowledgeable, and the room itself extremely comfortable and well presented, but I left my IPad behind, and before Id even realised Id lost it, I had an email from Archer Hotel informing me, and they sent the iPad within 3 working days by FedEx to the next hotel I was staying in. It was wrapped and they included some sweets and chocolate in the parcel, which was a wonderful touch.
My boyfriend and I will never stay anywhere else. Anthony B. and the timeless tip card extremely elevated the unique experience. We fell in love with Archer Austin, TX...and this has made us fall harder. The hotel and staff are beyond incredible. The rooftop bar is literally a precious gem. Stay here. Spend the money. Its worth it all!

2022-03-05We just stayed here March 2-4, 2022 and this hotel was fantastic. Staff was so warm, and so kind. The rooms were probably the cleanest Ive ever had. Empire state view worth every penny!!! My parents regular room had a large bathroom with tub. We had the view but no tub. Didnt matter to us. The rooms are small but its NYC. Clean, beautiful, plush bed. Two of us loved everything, the other 2 wanted firmer pillows. Thats literally the only thing to complain about because the hotel is so wonderful.

2022-03-18Great location. Helpful staff. Surprisingly nice complimentary continental breakfast. Loved the Spyglass rooftop. Great views and a small menu, but with a fair variety of shareable plates. Excellent waitstaff and bar tenders. Small but nicely appointed rooms. Would go back again.

2022-05-29Wonderful and friendly staff. We were greeted by the front desk every time we left and arrived at the hotel. The restaurant staff were equally friendly and engaging. At check in we were asked what brought us in and after telling them we were celebrating my wife’s birthday they sent a bottle of wine and card to our room! Unfortunately, we received an opposing experience at the rooftop bar. Unfriendly and welcoming staff. We walked out after 10 minutes and it did not appear to bother the manager or waiter as we walked past both on the way to the elevator and neither asked us if they could assist. We will be back but not likely to visit the rooftop bar again.

2022-02-22There are so many wonderful things to say about this hotel. Truthfully, after reading some recent reviews left by other guests, my expectations were elevated in a way that they never are and I am pleased to say I was still WOWed :) we checked in with Tracie Friday late morning on 2/18 after being greeted at the door by Jonathan. I didn’t expect to have a room ready but they still offered to check before we checked our luggage with them. We already had plans to check out some spots so it was no issue to wait. When we got back mid-afternoon we were promptly checked in and when we arrived at our room, not only were the delicious caramels waiting for us, they also left a cupcake with a lovely personal note (we had told them we were visiting for my daughters birthday which was earlier in February). The room itself was designed very well, very clean, comfy bed. The bathroom was bigger than expected which was perfect for 2 adult women to have plenty of room to get ready. On the second night of our stay the staff left us another surprise treat in our room. That same evening the staff was super helpful getting us a last minute seat in the rooftop bar for dinner. Always accommodating, always a smile and a hello and never made us feel like a burden. As we checked out the next morning, Jonathan was again at the door- he asked if we enjoyed the cupcake left for us, which just made me smile that he remembered. He then checked our bags for us while we explored some more of the city and when we arrived back to leave for our flight, there was a cab waiting and bottles of water for the trip. I have stayed in NYC several times but never have I had an experience like this one! We will definitely be back. Yes, staffing was a little short due to Covid so first floor bar was closed which was a bummer and yes, I have stayed in bigger hotel rooms but I promise you that NOTHING about their service is even remotely small. Thank you to the whole staff for an outstanding experience and a special mention to Jonathan and Tracie for you created 2 more raving fans!!

2022-05-13The Archer hotel, where I stayed for a week, is a hotel with beautiful details and elegant atmosphere in the heart of New York close to the Empire, which can be admired from the rooftop bar; I was summoned to New York in january for business reasons only as I am an Arabic interpreter (I am from Syria). The hotel is located in a good central location and has small but comfortable rooms. The three things I liked the most: 1) the bed, its really comfortable and the white duvet was huge and the softest quality Ive ever seen( i would like to buy one) 2) The breakfast was much better than expected, it was abundant and with excellent pastries and coffee 3) the rooftop bar had a beautiful view and I was able to have drinks at the hotel bar during work breaks. I conclude by saying that my working conditions were tiring as I had to roam the boundless city for 10 hours a day in the middle of winter, and the Archer offers the best restful stay for any business traveler

2021-12-08From the very warm welcome when we arrived to the time we departed everything was faultless. We want to thank Evan who quite literally made our stay by allowing us to upgrade to a room with an Empire State building view. The location is perfect for every site and tour we wanted to see and do. Head up the the rooftop bar as well as it has an even better view of the Empire State. 2022-01-03Location is ideal - close to everything (including the subway) - and the staff was very friendly. Room was clean and very quiet, which was a nice surprise given the constant background noise of the city. The continental breakfast was pretty minimal, and we had to pay extra for juice (they only had coffee and tea). Would recommend.

2022-05-02⭐ for the view of empire state building⭐ for modern room and locationUnfortunately it didnt live up to our expectations:The rooms are really really small (even for NYC!). We opted for a nice room and it was really cramped. The service was so hit and miss and we expected better from a hotel of this standard. Examples; Dinner reservations mixed up by management, house keeping forgetting to restock coffees/clean cups.We arrived early for check in, and the check in desk couldnt find our reservation and couldnt resolve the issue for hours until her manager arrived in. This is after we had spoken with someone the night before who said we where all set.Overall an expensive stay, and wouldnt return at the price we paid.

2022-06-14The service at this hotel is lackluster. The strict adherence to check in policies are absurd for the level of hotel they claim to be. I arrived 90 minutes early and was told my room wasn’t ready. Not ideal, and not completely out of the ordinary. I then returned 7 minutes before the 3pm check in time and was again told that I needed to wait 7 minutes until I was allowed to check in. Plus, my room smelled of cigarettes. On the plus side, I was able to write this review in the seven minutes I spent waiting. There are a ton of great hotels to stay at in Manhattan; don’t stay here.

2022-05-04The Archer, NYC:Great hotel. However: for the plant-based crowd: The Archer is not a “vegan hotel”. Despite a popular unrelated website naming this the “#1 vegan hotel in NYC”, there is very little about the hotel that could be called vegan. The management did apologize for the misunderstanding and hope to add more vegan options later)Great hotel otherwise!+View of the Empire State Building is amazing… as promised.+Very friendly staff who go out of their way to help+Beds are suuuuper comfortable+Convenient midtown Manhattan location+Beautiful place… great design-
