Arirang in other cities:
I’ve never been to a restaurant where I get angry at the food that’s served to me. I was recommended by the waitresses to try the Kongguksu saying that it’s “similar” to normal cold noodles, that’s not the case. The noodles were mush and they even made a boiled egg taste putrid, management tried their best to fix the matter but the damage was already done. Never come here unless you want a full on bellyache after you eat, plus the outside dining is filled with wasps and flies so just try another place. However, they did compensate for the meal by not charging for the drinks, so that deserves at least one star.
If any kind of noodle soup is your preferred dish, youd love this place. Make sure to try the hang cut and pan noodles as they offer more texture. You can also order half and half, which is good for me since I always want more options. The broths are sooo delicious and filled to the brim with flavor. Make sure to bring friends, portions are huge here. The seafood pancake is also to die for. Go NOW!
One of my favorite places to eat at, their handmade noodles are so good! I usually get the seafood long noodle and chicken pan noodle with seafood pancake. Great to share with a group of 3-4. The portions are huge and will definitely fill you up! its quite popular now so expect to wait for your table if you come around lunch time.
My go-to Korean style chicken noodle soup spot. Ive been going here for quite a number of years now and I can say theyve always been dependable.Clam noodle soup is fantastic and so is their other selection of noodle soups.Honestly I wouldnt get their 2 serving chicken dish as that was kind of lackluster.Tips in cash only, so bring a little bit if youre planning to pay by credit card.
Disgusting service. Had a yelling match with the owner’s son who was serving and he had disgusting manners and horrible service. All the korean comments with one-star rating are basically saying the same thing. I ended up not eating a single bite of anything, and just paid and left as my appetite was completely ruined. Will never visit again, the food isn’t even worth it.
OMG. I have never experienced such a rude and unprofessional service in my life! How are they running a business like that? They do not care about their customers at all. The food also wasnt good. No. Disgusting is the appropriate word to express it. They did not clean the clams properly so some sand was in the soup. Please do not waste of your money and time here. Find out another places where have better food and customer service.
Terrible service and neither are the food, you can find plenty Korean restaurants thats better than this one near the area. I ordered a seafood noodle soup and the taste just not right, and I dont think they cleaned the clams properly, which effect how the soup taste.
Love this place. Its near where my bf workplace so we come here from time to time. Their noodles seem to be handmade and the soup is delicious. I like the chicken soup noodle the best - chicken broth and real chicken meat and delicious noodles. Best for winter time - it will makes you sweat lol!
Always long line because of slow service. This place is always dirty especially the floor with food dropped. And tonight, such a rude waitress ruined our dinner. Look elsewhere if you want to have a pleasant meal time.Oh, the whole chicken (samkyetang) size is getting smaller and smaller. And often they dont have small so we ended up ordering medium size.
I came here with two friends on a Sunday afternoon. It wasnt too busy - we were seated immediately. Its not a huge restaurant but very spacious and looked clean. Street parking available! The waitress speaks both Chinese and Korean - thankfully my Korean friend ordered so Im not even sure if they speak English. I ordered the Kimchi seafood noodles and my friends got the regular seafood noodles. All three bowls came with a lot of mussels but had one shrimp... I like mussels but I like other types of seafood too... so is it really a seafood noodle soup? Not really. It was yummy though! I liked the kimchi taste, not too overbearing either. The noodles were a little soggy though, disappointing. They offered kimchi as a side dish, free refills! The check came out to around $15 per person with tips, not too expensive for the big bowl, but there are better places.
I believe giving everyone a fair chance and stopped in with some doubt.I am an enthusiast and able cook myself and a fervent believer that pork, beef and any fowles should taste like but not smell like it if you know what I mean.I had the Hand-cut noodle soup with chickenThe chicken was very old chicken or they threw the frozen chicken directly into the soup rather than completely defrosting prior to making the soup base with it.Have you ever had Pork soup that smelled like raw pork? Fish soup that smelled very fishy? You get it now? This comes from not really caring what people eat but trying to cut corners to save time and money and do not deserve a second visit.
Good food, but really lacks service. Depending on the day, they throw things on the table and slide it over and we were questioned about tip, when we already complained about one of the dishes not being fresh. Btw Ill compensate you with a tip if youve earned it. Not because you did your job... I wish I can get a tip for doing my job too...
My wife found out about this restaurant from her Korean hair stylist in Astoria. We thought it was hilarious when we were told the best Chinese-Korean restaurant in Flushing was called Chinese House (), as the name in Korean is literally the same as the English translation, and is the term is generically used to describe any Chinese place. Anyway, we are glad to have found out about this place, and make regular visits whenever we long for the holy trinity of Korean-Chinese dishes: JjajangMyun, JjamBong, and TangSooYook. All these classics are made right here, and the service is fast and friendly.
Beware, theyll charge a tip by credit card even if you give it in cash. OMG, this restaurant owner is the rudest person I have ever met before. She was yelling at me hysterically on the phone, and she said come and take the money back. And their Kimchi Seafood noodle is terrible taste. You can have a better taste of instant Kimchi noodles at a Korean supermarket.Very dishonest and tastelessIf you pay by credit card, you need to look at the receipt.Even if tip is given as cash, the card is charged without knowing it.When I protested, I got angry and cursed.
The problem is the wooden chopsticks we currently use here. The chopsticks were all covered in mold. Occasionally mold growth on one chopstick is a serious problem, but mold was found on many chopsticks. Even the chopsticks, which looked okay, were wet as if they had a little bit of moisture in them. Some chopsticks have mold on them, like flowers. I ate kalguksu with an anxious mind and, as soon as I got home, got diarrhea. It was also confirmed that many of the serving people were aware that the chopsticks had mold. Even knowing this, he continued to use the problematic chopsticks. Chopsticks are a very serious matter directly related to the health of customers. Please replace it with a normal one immediately. If it was an American restaurant, I would have immediately reported it to the Protestors Bureau.
The portion is generous and the seafood pancake is surprisingly crispy and delicious. The food is delicious, but the overall sweetness is strong. Even kkakdugi and kimchi, which are supposed to refresh your mouth, are very sweet. It was delicious at first, but the more I ate it, the stronger it was, the more difficult it was to eat it all.Its uncomfortable to hear the aunt, the owner of the counter, scolding the staff in a small shop.
This is a place where I miss the taste of Korea because it is a trip to the US for a long time.. The taste of chicken kalguksu and perilla kalguksu, the local food, was really simple and good. If I have a chance next time, I will visit again. The friendly response to the guests made the trip a pleasant one. This is a restaurant that I would like to recommend to my neighbors. I recommend it.
Kalguksu is famous for its rich broth. The flavor of the chicken is unique and the smell of soup is very good. Also, the noodles are not as smooth as the noodles are thinly sliced. As me who likes noodles, I was satisfied with my backpack.Sliced zucchini or vegetablesIn the shape of a slice like a hammock at homeGives your appetite more.Overall, its a satisfying restaurant, and it looks like youve gotten another restaurant. We recommend kalguksu or sujebi in cool weather. Arirang Kalguksu!
From the lady here to the boss, they are unfriendly. Even if they ask for a seasoning for kalguksu, they just want it to be eaten. After using the card, they are humiliated behind the scenes for not giving a tip in cash, and they dont even give a cash service. Do not go
Its uncomfortable to eat it if you eat too much seasoning.I did not want to go, but my husband was a native Samgyetang. The dumplings were not in shape or taste. But what was worse was the bill.Im going to take cards from my table and my back table.Waitress and the cashier have been around for a while.I got the bill, confirmed the card, signed it, and I came back.I checked it a few days later and it was calculated twice in Arirang. My card counted back to the table.I told him by phone, but he does not say that his attitude is so embarrassing and sorry.Would not it be a good idea to close the door by this time?
I am the president of the house. I ordered the phone first, but I did not check it. I did not say that I was sorry to give other customers first food. I refrained from paying less than $ 25 for the card when I ordered it again. It is too hot and it is out of the blue. I wanted to scour the throat too. How the young man thinks the business is one.
Samgyetang $ 25 and half of the chickens do not seem to be there. The owner who is asking for a tip for his excuse for an unreasonable excuse for Olga Nicks chicken, and the boss who wants to cash it, seems to say that some of the servants do not come to the guest. All!!
The owners personality is always unfriendly, but nowadays, he did not even know which order he ordered at the table and took it back twice. There were only two tables, but our order and the table were full. We were going to come back then, but after a few complaints I would not eat it. I only gave them food after 5 minutes.I was so angry, I ran out of the table and threw the bill to the guest who left the food.I do not understand why I do business like that

2021-09-07Its a small shop with big bowl of noodles. Prices average around $14 a bowl and these are big bowls. The soup base is aromatic and tasty, especially the chicken noodle, you can tell they spent a lot of time and ingredients in it. They have choices is flat noodle or long noodle, the soup base is somewhat interchangeable. Definitely try their seafood pancake. Street parking only.

2022-03-19The lady at the front desk was calling a customer who seemed to be complaining and she was speaking to him rudely and saying he cant talk to the manager either. I asked for the 오댕 topping on their menu and the lady got annoyed at me saying they don’t sell that. She was very rude so I felt bad and said sorry and asked for the dumpling topping that was a few pieces on top of the noodles and pointed to it on the menu too. She didn’t even look at me and say okay but yelled towards the kitchen my menu. When my order arrived they gave me the dumplings as a whole dish that comes out as twice the number of pieces so it was twice as expensive. I double checked the price on the menu, because I didn’t want to confront them and be wrong but the dumpling topping was much cheaper. I was confused and asked why it was more expensive than on the menu and they snapped at me asking if i even read the menu. The food is not bad but their some of their clams have sand in it. I am generally very nice and felt pretty upset they took their anger out on me. All of it felt very unprofessional.

2022-04-10The noodles are very salty. And their attitude is very bad. yelp shows they close at 9:30, but the clerk started doing sanitation at 8:40, mopping the floor, right next to me, and the smell was very bad. I was still eating noodles, and the time was not up. Not only that, one employee was staring at me with a mop, she just hoping I would finish eating quickly and leave. It was really rude, people were eating noodles, and she acted like she was trying to kick people out. Whats even more exaggerated is that the clerk asked me directly how much I wanted to tip them. Ridiculous to the extreme. Would not recommend to anyone.

2017-12-29I caught a flu and like any good Korean, had to look for some samgaetang to inject myself w some chicken nutrients. The samgaetang (ginseng chicken soup) was pretty good but I recommend the ddak juuk (chicken porridge).Def will check this place out next time Im sick or just need some chicken nutrients. My only problem was that it was so pricey, but I guess comparing it w/ korea prices arent fair. Also double check your receipt because I had a ghost charge of 5$, which I wouldnt have noticed if it werent for my eagle eyed 🦅 dad.

2019-04-27Kalguksoo heaven!I love the kimchi chicken kalguksoo here. The broth is so flavorful and hearty. So much flavor and you can feel the nutrients seeping into your bones as you eat. Highly recommend the noodle soups here along with the bomb seafood pancake. Super crunchy, actually shockingly crunch and packed full of ingredients.I can’t wait to come back again.

2019-04-15Best hidden gem in Queens. Their chicken soup (base for half the items on the menu) was boiled and simmered for hours to get to that creamy richness. Tastes literally like something your grandma would make for you if you were sick as hell and you needed ONE thing to bring you back to life. #7 is the item to go!

2019-11-19Really delicious chicken noodle soup. Good portions too. Only complaint is that they are a little slow to serve food. Thats because they cook the noodles in the soup instead of in water. They are totally worth the wait.
