Arirang Hibachi Steakhouse in other cities:
We have been going to Arirang for years, always have a great experience. We usually sit in the dining room, but since it was busy we ordered food from the bar. Rocco and Jeremiah were AMAZING!!! Their drinks and service were top notch!! They made us smile all night — Arrirang is so lucky to have them!!
Ive been a big fan of Arirang since i was a little kid. I had my birthday parties here almost every year. To me its the true hibachi steakhouse and nobody can tell me otherwise! I would highly recommend Arirang to anyone looking for that classic hibachi food and performance to match.
I recently dined at the Brooklyn Arirang and was helped by a manager Santino Fruscione and was extremely pleased with his service - he provided excellent service from the start of booking my son’s party - He is an amazing manager with excellent skills - there should be more workers like that !Thank you -
Went there last night for my grandson because he did very well in school for a little celebration. the manager was accommodating and the waiter Ryan was fantastic, the cook John was amazing very pleasant to the kids we had a lots of fun for the first time in a long time I had a lot of fun at a restaurant. I want to thank everybody manager host and staff for A great night
I had a great experience and my kids love it every time we go. We had Ryan as our waiter and he was awesome. Mike and Rocco were super helpful with all our needs and the chef John did a terrific job. Very kid friendly and that’s big with my family. We will be back for sure
Very good hibachi & the server was fantastic they put a great show on while cooking your food right in front of you!! Went for my birthday & was pretty satisfied 😌☺ might be better to call for reservations but when I went place didnt have to many patrons... I got lobster shrimp & filet mignon hibachi
The chief fai and our lovely waiter lucís.. was wondering it was like 12 of us .. this was my first time .. we was fasting and told the waitress lucus sorry if I’m spelling the name wrong but she was very sweet kind and the chief fai was so funny .. so we had everything we wanted on time and the waitress was very kind and had lots of orders from us she did it with love … and the manager there tell man didn’t get his name came to us and made sure we happy and everything was good I give them 5 stars for food and kindness thank u very much see u soon
The atmosphere was nice, came for my reserved time and was seated within 5 mins. Took approx 20mins before cooking started. Within 5mins of seating drinks were served, apps after 10mins. The hibachi chef was ok, not the best ive seen. The show was pretty subpar compared to other experiences. He was cheery and the food was decent. Steaks were cooked fine. Chicken overcooked. Fried rice was amazing.U dont need reservations but its better to give them a heads up on what time your coming.Parking lot is valet service. Slightly small. However across the street there is street parking.
It was a good experience overall at arirang. The chef was entertaining and the filet mignon and lobster tail combo was delicious. The steak was tender while the lobster was juicy and succulent! The only thing is the space get a little crowded and the floor are slippery because of the grease which is understandable considering they are cooking in front of you.
Kids eat free on mondays Food was ok , service was ok, the glass for the kids and bevarages are pretty and cheap you can take them home for 6 dollars. The food prices its avarage. The serving its really good. Lots of food. Managarrs are really attentive and servicial. The chef was funny entertaining and please us on the show. They serve 3 shrimps just because .... and ice cream . Who dosent like that ?. My kids enjoy it a lot . The place needs a little bit if a new face loft like paint the bar its spectacular they should remodel the whole place like that . Its to dark . The second floor its big. The first floor fish tank look sad and need a better logo sign . Glowing pretty letter I could find it that easy. But over all its a good place .
Something about a hibachi house is like no other The food is clean fresh and made to order Service was quick and friendly Chef was polite and Entertaining in his style of cooking Made the guests comfortable and put smiles on their face with good Tasting food what else could you ask for,We had Shrimp, scallops rice vegetables and a side of Noodles.and Steak (migon) and chicken, rice ,vegetables, noodles. Large portion plenty of food to take Home
I love this place so much. My family has been coming here since I was a kid and now we have come full circle with my nephew. This place is great for birthdays and special occasions. The staff is always great and such a joy to be around. The chefs treat you like family. The have a great selection of sake, free refills on soda, lastly very accommodating for certain food allergies and conditions.
I must say their Hosts need to get it together, When calling and asking do we need a reservation we were told No just call when your 15 minutes away and let us know and we will add you to the list. When we did call when we were 15 minutes away ,a gentleman answering the phone told my wife no first come first served. Then we arrived they took our names and we were only 3 of us, that turned into a 40 minute wait with people cutting in front of us as they call you on your cell to tell you to come in. Definitely Disorganized I went in and said is there seating or not? People before me have walked in and not walked back out ,so is it calling for reservations or not? I was seated within 2 minutes. Once inside as Usual the atmosphere and staff is delightful and the food delicious.
We usually go on birthdays. Today was horrible. Service was horrendous. The waiter had no personality whatsoever. To top it off they didn’t even sing happy birthday to my 11 year old daughter who specifically wanted to come here for her birthday dinner. The waiter put ice cream with a candle in it and took a picture on an angle that had other people in it. We moved her seat to sit against the wall so this wouldn’t happen but it did anyway. What happened to the birthday guy who comes out to sing all dressed up? Thanks for ruining the day Arirang! I will never come back!
Loved it! But extremely pricey and with a large group we were pretty squeezed in around the entire half of a square to the point my husband was practically up against the other large group occupying the other half of the square hibachi table. We were upstairs and its a bit snug but the food was very good so that made up for most of the downside. The chef doing the cooking was decently entertaining and for my nieces birthday they did sing and make a mockery lol.
It is a family friendly place. They have a small parking lot so be prepared to find street parking if full. The staffs were generally very friendly and helpful. We had the Hibachi and the food was very salty to my taste. The chef was funny and demonstrated a few tricks. The price was fair for Hibachi. My overall experience was okay.
Arrirang is an exceptional Hibachi restaurant. Asian style decor and a Hibachi chef will serve the table or group of people; 5 star quality service, food, steaks are off the charts seafood sushi and bar upstairs. For upstairs certain nights cater more to particular patrons, age appropriate, times etc. The restaurant provides an impressive way of serving and is truly an extraordinary experience. A class act and a wonderful family experience. Go on your birthday- great you’ll see what I mean. Family owned since the 80’s, I went to High School with...
First time ok but second time ordered same thing over DoorDash ordered the chicken and steak by accident and they wouldn’t adjust my order for me for just steak when it was just a two dollar difference that I was willing to pay not even a big deal guess they’d rather lose a customer 🤷I ordered avocado sushi. there was hair in it. idk of if door dash or them but food was cold will definitely just cook my lunch for work at home next time after that experience I’d do it better
Picked up for myself and my boyfriend. Was his first time ever having it (I know, I was as surprised as you probably are!) and he LOVED it. Hes picky and doesnt like left overs, but went back for seconds the next day and finished his entire meal, if that counts for anything.
This restaurant us extremely popular so reservations are highly recommended. It offers dinner and entertainment from highly skilled chefs. It features a full service bar that offers several specialty drinks. One drink is served in souvenir glass. The restaurant can be loud which may not be good for the elderly customers, young children or babies. Servers will arrange to acknowledge birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions. Dinners prices may be higher than some other restaurants but you are paying the experience as well as the meal. Food is cooked to order at the table and served hot and fresh. Portions are large and can be boxed for leftovers.
We love eating out. Yesterday we found this superb restaurant which friends recommended to us. We passed a delightful evening there with great meal and a courteous team and an impressive chief cook. We added this restaurant in our phone list and we shall certainly come back soon. Highly recommended.
Horrible childrens birthday party ! Overworked , trying to balance large groups, but unable to handle it. The chef and the waiter started arguing because if miscommunication. Lots of miscommunication was going on. Unprofessional. Omg ! Stress would do it. However nice inside, drinks are good , but I feel they overbooked or understaffed, at least the day I went. And I spent a lot of money , which was not worth it at all!
Always a fun experience when the mood fits. It’s a fairly classic hibachi set up with two levels. There’s a bar and seating area for waiting during busy hours or to order non hibachi menu items. Most of the cooks are very entertaining, food is always good. Can get a little pricey.
Arirang is one of the top notch Asian restaurants on Staten island. The hibachi chefs are always friendly and put on a good show for the customers. One of the best hidden secrets of this place is that you dont need to sit at a hibachi table and experience the long wait. You can get the same delicious food at a regular dining table in about half the time
Horrendous. Terrible. Appalling. These words dont even come close to describing my experience here.We made reservations more than a week in advance and still had a 2 hour wait (we were told half an hour, after which they kept telling us a table was being cleaned and it would just be a few minutes). They couldnt find our reservation and kept saying that we were wrong and that we called the one in BK. They repeatedly blamed US for their mistake, and were incredibly rude and condescending. The kicker? When we finally were able to eat, my salad had a GIANT PIECE OF PLASTIC in it (seriously, it was bigger than my entire hand). And despite my repeated mention of a serious food allergy to our waiter and our hibachi chef, who assured us that they would cook that ingredient last, they mixed it in with the other vegetables and didnt properly clean the grill before putting the meats on the same part of the cooking surface. The only thing I could eat was the rice. I essentially ended up paying $50 for fried rice and a diet Pepsi in a cat cup.NEVER. AGAIN.
2 Stars. NOT A good PLACE FOR A GROUP. Went here for my Husbands Birthday. On a Tuesday, for a 7:30 RESERVATION, waited till 9:30 for the Hibachi Chef to START making us food... kids under 6 were climbing the walls and crying to go home.Hibachi Chef was friendly and comical,5 stars for him. But.. we got sushi and other appetizers to hold us over.Sushi was NOT fresh, and 3 out of 5 people were waiting on ice for their drinks. Appetizers were off tasting and kinda soggy.Of course after closing time, were still there pretty much just bagging our food and skipping the ice cream. I ask about the Birthday photo they took of my Husband, and none of workers have an answer for me. Been here for a lot of our family Birthdays, but will not be going again.THIS IS NOT A GOOD PLACE FOR GROUPS.
Very good Hibachi restaurant. Right side of the restaurant is Hibachi dining tables area and left side of the restaurant is for a la carte dining with a bar. Kids age 10 & under can have free kids meals from kids menu with each adult entree order of $17 or more on Monday & Tuesday. No wonder there are lots of kids when I came on Monday evening. Its fun watching the humorous chef cooking at the table in front of you and the kids love it. It is very difficult to get a street parking at that area but valet parking is available at the restaurant. Price is not expensive and food is good. You cannot make reservation through Open Table and I suggest you should make phone reservation to avoid the wait. You will love this dining experience.
BE WARNED...this was the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. The waiter was awful and rude. After we ordered a person in our party (a young girl) asked to add something. She was told No, you cannot order after we take the menus. The waiter was rushing too much that he would not listen. We had food restrictions we needed to say. I complained to the manager which did NOTHING! In fact he was just as rude. I will not even go into the way they treat there staff....After our $350 bill we were told that we must pay the 18% tip because of our party size....so, basically you have to pay for terrible service and they know it. I have been to the one in Bay Ridge and it was much better. This place is shady and that is putting it mildly...never ever again!!!!
Always a blast when I go for dinner at Arirang. I love Hibachi and the the experience on how the food is presented and cooked in front of you. Friendly staff and good vibes. Depending on when you go there can be a little of a wait and I wish the waiting area was bigger.
I have been to this Arirang numerous times. We go for a party or birthday, which is what most people do. We call, we make a reservation. They tell you they wont seat you until everyone in your party is there. Ok, fine. BUT EACH TIME I have been there, and our ENTIRE party is there, we have still waited 40-60 minutes to be seated. So either refuse the reservation if you are overbooked or seat someone remotely close to on-time. I will also mention that many times when we have a reservation, its been at 8-9pm, NOT 6-7 which tends to be busier. Especially with kids in tow, who wants to wait an hour to be seated, AFTER waiting for your entire party to arrive. Just unprofessional. Id rather not go. Chefs... some are excellent, some are new. Its the luck of the draw. I typically will tip the chef 10-20 dollars privately if they are really good and entertaining. Food is ok, nothing special. Price is a little on the high side compared to quality, but generally, quality is ok, nothing to knock you over on. They will accommodate people with allergies and make their food separate if needed, which is nice. Its a fun place for a party, but not worth the hassle if just going for a dinner for a few.
I showed up with 4 adults a 1 year old and a 4 year old 30 minutes early for our reservation because our event ended early. Hostess informed us 25 minutes. After 45 minutes she told us table was being cleaned it will be 5 minutes. After 10 minutes she told us table is being cleaned right now the reason it took so long is because I came 45 minutes before me reservation time. First of all get the times right the reservation was set for 7:45 not 8 second you shouldn’t have told me 25 minutes and third since when is it the customers fault you aren’t strait forward with your wait times? I have two small children if it’s going to be an hour tell me that!
As hibachi restaurants go, this place is just okay. The food is mediocre and all tastes the same (not surprising, since they put all of the same ingredients on everything, from vegetables, to seafood, to meat) and the chefs range from very entertaining, to clearly miserable and dont even make an effort to put on a show or interact. The routine never changes, so gets boring after being there twice. The food is ok, not good or bad, but the drinks are terrible, over priced and filled with ice cubes and juice instead of alcohol. Kids usually enjoy this place, but for the price, Im not sure its worth going.
Small parking lot, they have valet and street parking. The time I had a boot on my foot. And my table was upstairs...I had to slowly get up their and the stairs were slippery. My food came out very late and was barely warm, the manager took it off the bill...that was nice. It was an okay time...minus the stairs going uo and then going back down. Food was okay too. Thank you for taking it off the bill.
Arirang is my favorite hibachi place by far, the waits are usually reasonable and the food never disappoints. I find myself back here every other month or so if I can. It can be pricey but you always leave feeling full. They also have renovated in the past 2 years, and the new bar area is well done.
Had a impromptu date night, on a Tuesday, with the hubby. Decided to go there because it was a weekday, 8:30 and didnt expect a long wait. Well I was sure wrong. Waiting was not the issue. They told me 25 minutes. The issue is this; as we are waiting at the bar we see two other parties enter, give their names, and go to the bar. Within minutes, they are seated. What the ? After waiting for 25 minutes, I am then told that a table is being cleaned off, and we should be seated shortly. We waited another 15 minutes, a total of 40 minutes , and walked out. At no point did they offer a complimentary drink or anything. And it was 830 when we got there, they close at 10. The staff obviously were too busy getting ready to close up shop at 9 to tend to the customers waiting. Will take the trip over the bridge the next time for hibachi.
Do they take call ahead seating do they not? We called and were told they dont when we got there they told us that they do. We were given a 50 minute wait time we werent sat until an hour and a half later then it took another 55 minutes before the person came over to cook the food. We were there for almost 3 hours. This is totally unacceptable and the manager did absolutely nothing to help us. I highly doubt I would be going back there ever again considering the how they sad people that came and after us with the same amount of people before us when we were finally sitting down they were done with their meal and they were leaving. I blame this on management
Ive invited our friends for dinner that traveled from another country and to say that it was simply embarrassing and disappointing to invite ppl to a place that has bellow par service and food would be an understatement !Pros:It was finally renovated after years of much needed update!Cons:Everything else!Service was terrible!Drinks that we ordered including mineral water and beer were just brought to us with out glasses and it took another 25 minutes to bring glasses ...The chef was overworked and not entertainingf at all ..he didnt preform the usual routine expected from a hibachi restaurant chef and instead did 2 tricks with rice and called it a day!The birthday part where everyone sings and takes a picture was the saddest thing Ive ever seen ...I was just embarrassed that I took ppl to this place...After a below par and messy service we were ready to move on to a desert But it took over 25 minutes to clean the table and another 20 to bring desert !!!Clearly the expansion of this facility was not properly executed staff wise ...all the waiters were frustrated running from table to table forgetting stuff and nearly breathing,it was just a night mare for me all around! And I ended up being subjected to a mandatory 15% for a terrible job!I used to go here for often for many years (prior to renovation)It was NEVER this bad!
Great food but I must say this place is so so loud and the show is always the same. I been going here for years and years and the show never changed and it doesnt matter who cooks, it gets annoying after a while. Anyway if you love the taste of your food, it never changes no matter when you come back, its why I keep going.
Good food, good drinks, great staff Dicky the grill chef is very friendly, great with kids, knows how to keep them occupied while cooking also involves the kids with some of what he does I would definitely recommend this place .also prices are decent.im so sorry the gentlemans name is Dicky, not nicky. 🙂
I give respect where it’s due and this place deserves none. Not only did the server have horrible jokes the food made my family and I sick all at the same time after eating here. The sodium is too much & we had gotten salt poisoning: I would suggest anyone who is considering going here please don’t for the sake of your day drinking water to flush your body. The green feeling I experienced was scarring & made me never want any form of Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, or anything with nese at the end food ever again for the rest of my life. I hope every family & friend enjoys their food and atomosphere anywhere but here .
Cheif was great the bus boy was nicer and more welcoming than the actual waiter. The menu is VERYYYYYYY misleading. Says children eat free but does not specify dates or times ! Online nor on the actual menu. Upstairs was very cramped and barely any room to walk through when eat table was full. All around I probably won’t go back sushi was tasted better than the habchi but again the habatchi cheif was AMAZING !
My last visit to Arirang about 2 weeks ago was absolutely awful I go to this restaurant at least two or three times a year typically for birthdays and had never had a problem. However when me and my husband went for my birthday 2 weeks ago we ordered the same thing we always do lobster tail and filet mignon and we wound Up sick for 2 days. The lobster tail tasted like it was marinating in a dirty mop bucket and the filet mignon tasted like gamey deer meat. I will not be going back to this establishment again it doesnt matter how many good times you have the one bad time will be remembered always.
The waiter was rushing us as soon as we sat down all out guests havent even arrived yet. The chef Alyee was funny but seriously needs to be careful when tossing hot flamming vegetables at customers. I had a red hot mark on my arm for up to an hour later. Especially when tossing them at a child under 3 yrs old I didnt think that was appropriate. He forgot someones meat and gave others the wrong foods.
We were a party of thirteen with 8 pm reservations. At 8 I told the desk manager said we would be seated in 30 minutes. We were seated at 9:05. A server gave us a few minutes then took our order. Ten minutes to soup, ten minutes later salad. Forty five minutes later, the chef arrives, absently cooks dinner, no patter whatsoever, and he forgot one persons meal. This was a 28th birthday party. Been doing it fo three sons, 20 years. The food was overly salted, inconsistently cooked. We ordered a birthday cake, which we had to remind them about. The bonsai birthday music was missing, the gong was not but the photo, which goes on the fridge with many other birthday photos, was taken, but forgotten. When we left at 11:40, we asked for it and we were told there was no memory card in the camera. Every night there are twenty birthdays. Why did ours get screwed up for the second time ( same crap last year!) This place is an institution for our family. How sad its come to this. I hope with more comments like this they can find a way to improve. Were going back in January. Ill let you know!We made them aware of our disappointment and theyre giving us a gift card and a promise of better performance next time!
Similar to a benihanas, arirang hibachi steakhouse has good food prepared in an entertaining way on the table side grill. for this location parking is difficult and is recommended to use the valet on site. This restaurant also does not take reservations and will not put your name on the list until all party members are present, so do be prepared to wait especially if you are visiting at peak times around dinner and on weekends. due to the popularity of this restaurant and the crowds it is also not in the most romantic spot, but is good for a birthday or other celebration.if you are going I would highly recommend the hibachi options whether its steak, filet mignon, chicken or shrimp. The fried rice is also quite good.
I love Arirangs food, something Ill probably never get sick of. Something I am sick of though is getting my ordered wrong in some possible way. Every time I order delivery, something is either missing or just wrong completely. I dont blame the delivery service workers either, because everything is wrapped in a way to show if it was tampered with. No, its just lack of accuracy on Arirangs part. PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THE ORDERS BEFORE YOU SEND THEM OUT.
My boyfriend and I visited this location recently and not only did I have to wear his sweater on top of my jacket because it was so cold, we asked TWICE to turn the air down. There were other people sitting in the restuarunt also wearing their winter coats so I know Im not being sensitive. They failed to fix the problem and didnt seem to really care. In fact, we received attitude from the server Im response to our asking to lower the vents. To add even more terribleness to our pile of complaints, we submitted a coupon and the coupon was applied to another guests check! Unprofessional, rude, and incompetent service. This place sucked. However, our man Ata was a very tasteful cook.
Have been here many times in the past for birthday dinners but the last time was very disappointed. All the food was made with to much Soy, it all tasted the same. The chief as dull and lifeless, like just doing his scriptAnd now they charge $15 for the birthday song and having your picture taken. And get this you dont even get the picture, you go online and download it. What a rip off.
HOW TO GET FREE FOODJust complain to a manager and your food is free. Tell them your food:-took too long-the food is cold-the food doesnt taste right-thats not what you ordered-you thought the food was something else you ordered-theres a hair or object in itHOW TO GET FREE DRINKSComplain to the manager...If you drink half and...-you dont like the taste-it dont look right-its made wrong-its not enough alcohol
Absolutely have the best show and food on the Island. The filet is soft and tender like butter. Plump, juicy shrimp and tasty chicken. They have a kids bento box with fresh chicken strips, a bite size burger and rice crispy sushi for dessert(rolled with fruit roll up and a gummy fish on top, cute.
Arrirang Has delicious food and comical yet cool waiters who grill and Ross the food in front of you. Once they set the grill ablaze in the small circle in the middle, they take out a fireman little water squirter and the water comes out of his u-no-wat. I love checking out all of the fish in the tank and the place looks amazing. But the prices are HIGH out in the sky past space and back around into the place. LOl No. Great place high price... 😀
Valet was the issue car damaged - Arirang had me deal with valet owner who was rude and accused my of lying , Plenty of construction so Im sure damage not intentional , and manager was nice at Arirang - but they should have handled their valet , not subject me to it . Valet owner unprofessional and nasty .. In the end 305.00 in damage to a tire .$$$$$ dinner ......

2022-02-26So I writing this review while still in the restaurant. This is the 1st time I’ve been here. It did not disappoint me. The food was cooked to absolute perfection, but what made me experience for was the waiter. Mike A was great. I ventured out with my 2 kids while the wife was away. He did not only make sure that we had everything we asked for but made sure my two kids were happy. My youngest is a very picky eat and he made sure she had enough to eat and that both kids were happy. I dropped something on me and mike offered to bring me a little water to wipe it up. This guy is the biggest asset to the restaurant!!!

2022-05-10Had a birthday dinner with friends tonight and could not be happier. Our server, Rocco, was absolutely the best. He was pleasant and helpful in making recommendations when we had questions. He was so accommodating and made sure that everything was perfect for our celebration. We had food allergy concerns and he went above and beyond to make certain that we were well taken care of. Rocco definitely help make our evening a great experience. The food was top notched and prepared just as we had ordered and the drinks were amazing!! If I could give 10 stars I would. We will definitely be back again soon! Thank you for making my birthday a great night!

2022-02-13Came back to Arirang after 20 years to celebrate the birthday of one of our dear friends.Service: Excellent, our chefs Jim and John were excellent as were the service team. Attentive and entertaining while not being intrusive. We brought a tribe of kids (5) and the wait staff handled everyone well.Food: Exceptional and plentiful. Soup was GREAT and food off of the Hibachi is always an experience.Glad we came back to Arirang, great staff, wonderfully appointed dining room, and good food. My only caveat is that they do not take reservations and they fill up quick on the weekends. Get there early, especially if you have a big group.

2022-02-28I wanted to thank Daniella and Rocco for being so amazing when my grandson was having a Mini meltdown. They tried everything they could to make me feel at ease and to help him be comfortable until it was time for our table. For 2 young people they have very good customer service and host/es experience. Also I want to thank The Jackie for being so sweet with how many times my grandson dropped his fork lol

2022-04-22Entertainment was nice. Food was good. He flipped the egg and it cracked in my husbands plate.. gross. The exhaust was not on. All the smoke and steam was in our faces. My hair and clothes smelled afterwards. Server forgot our drink. We asked 2x. We also reminded them 2x about the white rice we ordered.Dont think I would be going again. Parking in the back is convenient but tight to get in to. Hibachi spot on Richmond Rd was a much better experience.
