Arlo NoMad in New York
Nice hotel! I enjoyed the birthday treat they left macarons (my favorite dessert) and some sparkling wine. The views were pretty cool of the sky scrapers and we were right behind the empire state building! the rooftop was cool with the glass floor overlooking the street from 31 floors above. You cant just go up there to chill... you have to order something. The room was small which was different, but worked for just my wife and I. Friendly and accomodating staff.
This place was so off the chart amazing. Loved the skyroom that was king size that was kind of small, but it was such a great intense intimate experience for 2 people to enjoy and be in the moment and leave the world behind just us and no one else. Roof top was also very nice with the view. Was able to see the sunrise in the morning. Got this on valentines day. The only thing I didnt like at all was the valet was 70$ for 1 night and that to me was crazy for a guess. Different than what I was told on phone but ok. Have fun
The workers here are very nice. Other than that, this was an underwhelming experience. Had a stay-cation here and it was a poor experience. Only 1 elevator working, each time waited a minimum of 20 minutes to go up 19 floors. Plus rooftop bar closed which was one of the reasons I booked it and there was no mention of it on the website. Sheets and curtains were dirty with unknown stains Decent view of NYC, but not like what was advertised on the website. Very misleading that the “city view” advertised is not what you actually get. Definitely not worth the price- plus 20 dollar service fee for water and “amenities”. Will not be staying here again.
Spectacular views, comfy bed and great front desk personnel. One thing to keep in mind is that the rooms are pretty tiny, but let’s be real we just come here for the views lol. I definitely recommend to book a king sky room that’s where you’ll get the best views as well as semi panorama windows.
Use caution with their valet service! I had a great weekend in NYC and stayed at this hotel. On our last day, I got a call that the valet wasnt able to deliver my car because it wouldnt shift. This was strange as the car has never had any issues. I walked over to the valet garage and found that my car would not shift, was leaking lots of fluid, and the check brakes light was on. The valets offered no assistance or help and I was stuck. I live out of state and had to be back later that day. So after watching a bunch of youtube videos, I went down into the valet garage and after about an hour I was able to reconnect the shift cable. Then I had to drive home with the check brake lights on. When I got back to my area, the car stopped shifting completely again. I had to get a tow truck service to tow my car and it has been in the shop since. Ill have more information when the mechanic calls me back, but it appears the valet attendant was trying to force the shift for some reason and broke the shift cable. I am still not sure what they did to the brakes or why it was leaking fluid. The hotel was nice but their valet service was a nightmare. I would suggest parking in another garage.
The rooms at this hotel are tiny even for New York. For the prices they charge you can find a much nicer hotel with bigger rooms and better hospitality. Even though we paid for a queen room the bed was definitely not a full queen and the room was so small that we couldn’t even open our suitcase to unpack without falling over one another. I will not be staying here again.
I might not be fair here but coming from Florida knowing what a $500 per night hotel is like and what comes with a tag price like that, Im not used to this little for so much, not even breakfast! This might be just a LOCATION type of thing in just another tall building. The room was clean as well as the bathroom but had many details like dirty corners, dusty curtains and bad cut corners paint job. there were no ammenities in the room except for water. general areas smell good and are clean, Reception staff was friendly and diligent, there was security during day, did not see any at night time I might be wrong I just did not see any. Bottom line no worth $500 per night for what is offered.
Scam. Charged my friend $700 (took it out of her card without consent) because they said the TV was broken when it was already broken when she came. BewareReply: Comments that arent on the same page as you and your management does not make the review disingenuous. My friend couldnt care less about the TV (who even watches TV while in New York???) so she didnt bother reporting it. Given that your location is in NYC, shouldnt you expect international visitors with AND without experience in hotels? This was the first time she booked a hotel in NY, let alone any state. Just because there were no initial statements prior to the discovery, it does not mean she broke it. One of the biggest points here is, stop making the authorization hold such a difficult thing. Communicate with your clients BEFORE you charge something to their account. This isnt the first review regarding the authorization hold. Keep your $700 or $800, your hotel needs it to hire better management.
Loved staying here, the rooms were clean and optimised to the best use for city breaks. I know folk complain about views from the rooms but New York is not a destination for lying gazing out the window its a destination of action so dont listen to them and get to the Arlo NoMad! Great staff and the roof top is brilliant!
Booked the king sky room, the view was nice but not amazing. The room was also tiny. this hotel should not be considered 4 stars — the fact that it does not have a service lift for staff (which reputable hotel does not have a service lift?) so waiting for the elevator literally takes a million years because hotel guests and staff all share the lift. however the worst part was them not being able to explain the authorization hold. was told to put my card to authorize but after I already left the hotel, they told me it couldn’t go through even though there was sufficient money inside. Few days later, they added a second hold and I called them and then said it wasn’t paid. They couldn’t even answer why they authorized my card TWICE or whether I was actually charged. Why would u not let ur guests just pay upfront instead of going through this complicated process of holding the money
First off we reserved a Sky King room and when we arrived we were put in a room on the lowest floor possible for that option. We then went to our room only to have the view of a large brick wall. The elevator was down, therefore there was only one elevator available. The wait times to get on the elevator were ridiculous with lines around 30 people at one time. We would have to wait numerous rides on our floor to get downstairs because the higher floors filled up the elevator on the way down. It was super inconvenient with trying to stay on a schedule. We were accommodated on our second nights stay after not being pleased with our current room. That did help the situation, but the elevator situation definitely ruined the visit. The staff was very friendly and helpful, I’m thankful they gave us an option to change our rooms.
Guys please be careful!! My Bestfriend and I stayed here and on our second night we discovered bed bugs.. Immediately we let the front desk know that we would be having an early check out and why. Rather then providing us with a full refund they only refunded ONE night.. Whereas now we have to go home and risk having something brought back with us… not to mention the process we have to start to clean our clothes shoes etc.. Super disappointed with this hotel for not even being able to offer a full refund despite this huge inconvenience seeing as though we had all kinds of evidence and pictures… please re think your stay at this hotel, there are so many more amazing hotels in NY
Fantastic hotel. Rooms are bigger than I was expecting for central Manhattan. Walking distance to Times Square, Empire State, FlatIron, Koreatown and loads more, but still in a pretty quiet location. We even had an epic view of the Empire State Building.Best of all though, the staff are super friendly and very helpful. I would absolutely recommend staying here!
I would not recommend this hotel at all - they’re just inconvenient every possible chance they get.* They said the room was ready but they would not check me in early unless I paid an early check in fee for coming one hour early which is very desperate of them. As a result I had to wait in the upstairs sitting area for one hour while nothing happened which was a deflating way to check in.* I always book hotels through my company’s booking site and hotels always use the company card on file. This hotel said they don’t do this and require a company card credit authorization form to be filled out which is a surprising, annoying extra step. I am lucky that I am able to provide a personal card to cover the this expense but other business travelers may be unable to check in as a result and would get stranded.* The bed is kind of thin and hard FYI.* There is no luggage stand and no where to open your bag in the queen bed room 🙄* the gym is located FOUR BLOCKS AWAY. And they close at 4pm on Sunday - so if you check in on Sunday there’s basically no gym.
Bed was clean, shower has mold on the bottom. No door for the bathroom, so if you poop everyone can smell it.Moxy hotels at East village is an awesome choice for NYC. lots to eat around there and very new and clean. Check it out.I also got assigned a room facing fire escapes and bricks. Which was okay since it was pretty affordable. The carpet and the wood made the room look not so inviting, and look very outdated. I don’t care much about looks , I only care if it’s cleanI just wish there weren’t carpets and no mold in the shower
The hotel was really nice. My only issue was that it was a loud noise I would hear above my head literally every hour sometimes every two hours in room 917. It sounded like someone was dropping a bowling ball and the ball bounced. I called downstairs they lady was like of rude. Maaam I just got here. I don’t know what that was to do with my issue but okay. It was aggravating to deal with since I paid extra for the terrace.
Hotel is allegedly “4” stars but honestly it’s an Instagram hot spot where very few rooms are actually 4 star and the rest is horrible. My stay at the Hilton garden inn was much nicer and cleaner. I requested a high floor view and got a mid floor, subpar view (despite paying for the city view) and was told if I got another room I’d be “downgrading”. I was in town for a funeral and I should have did my due diligence in regards to the hotel. The location is great, the actual facility is overhyped, overpriced, and exceptionally dirty. I have never seen so much accumulated dust everywhere in the room. The blinds also fell on me and that was nice. The water goes down slow in both the shower and the sink. The shower leaks, so water flows into the shower into the room which is always nice. The blinds had holes in them. The curtains were littered with dust. The shower had mold. The air vents were absolutely disgusting and filled with so much dust and junk. The rooftop is not actually opened on the weekends. They do not come a provide new towels or sheets. You can hear your neighbors playing music on their phones, which is nice. The Chromecast on the tv doesn’t last because the wifi is extremely spotty and poor. What this boils down to is, do you want an Instagram hot spot or do you want actually quality? If it’s quality, than this is not the hotel for you. If you don’t mind subpar rooms and dusty facilities, than book this place.
I was lied to from the promo video. The room was not all that. The view was not all that. The room size was just larger than a jail cell. Only one elevator was in service. The hot water took FOREVER to turn on. The toilet didnt stop running. The lights over the bed were way too low. I kept bumping my head on them. There was barely a trash can, and when we asked for a larger one we were given a Lowes bucket. Mediocre at best.
Its in a great location, and the views are really nice. Its in a great location, and the views are really nice. And since there is only one elevator going to the 16th floor or higher, it takes a long time to use it during rush hour. Finally, a tribute to Jamilah, a very friendly and kind lobby host.
Best thing was the check in with Jamila and the lobby smell. The hotel was overall ok for what we needed it for, we were traveling with family and needed to be in the area. Midtown is not one of the best areas NYC has to offer, not many restaurants or things to do nearby expect for the touristy activities. Hotel offers 2 bars, one on the rooftop with great views, a restaurant downstairs that closes early and a mini market/cafe in the lobby. We wouldve loved more common areas to be in or a sit down breakfast place. Service at the bars/restaurant were ok, expect for Elias he was amazing. Rooms were pretty but very small and not all were very functional, the other room my family stayed in didnt have an outlet in the bathroom or side tables next to the bed.
I was honestly very disappointed in my stay at the Arlo Nomad. I feel there were very deceptive photos of the rooms when booking. I was trying to have a valentines stay with my girlfriend with a unique view of the city, when we arrived to our room I was shocked that the “city view” was out of a tiny window that was blocked half way by a curtain that couldn’t be pushed all the way to one side. I had to tie it up. This was not the room I booked but the front desk told me there was nothing they could do. (This is false advertising). The window was not the only issue with our room. Our toilet paper roll was nearly empty upon arrival, the lamp in the room was broken, the tv was not only difficult to operate but fully stopped working properly, the mini fridge did not keep anything cold, we could not reach the front desk via the in room phone, nor was there any phone number left (which feels like a safety concern in my opinion). The two waters provided (which is an amenity they boast) were warm, the two plastic cups provided were completely different cups which was just confusing, and there was no hand towel for the sink.On top of all of this there was only one operating elevator that stopped on random floors while operating. Meaning, any time we left the room it took us 20 minutes to get up or down, add that with the inability to reach the front desk and you have a liability on your hands. I understand breakdowns are something that happen, but if it had JUST been the elevator that would be one thing. It was in fact so many aspects of the stay that were upsetting. Our room service was also affected by the elevator, it was cold, prepared wrong, and difficult to eat with no plates or glasses (though this is not the Arlo’s fault as they outsource their room service to Butler which is basically uber eats). I also paid extra for late check out yet we were kicked off of wifi, our tv stopped working again, and someone attempted to enter our room around 12 the next day. When my girlfriend went to open the door the mystery person ran off down the hallway.I am just simply not sure what I am even paying for here. There are no real amenities, we were allowed on the roof for about 40 minutes before it closed, the food was outsourced, the appliances didn’t work... So where is my $500+ going?I really wanted to like this place, and I am pretty upset that I didn’t. There should be more transparency in the rooms’ layout when booking, there should be compensation for the inconvenience the broken elevator caused, and at minimum the basic appliances in the room should work. I will sadly not be returning, nor will I recommend the Arlo to anyone. After sending an email about my time I was contacted and offered a free stay in the premium room to which I said “I would rather you just cover the expense of this trip.” The customer service representative was very kind and understanding (the only good part about this trip) and fully refunded our stay. If you had a bad experience at the Arlo I recommend getting your money back as well. This whole thing felt like a gross scam and I’m glad I got it for free. 0 stars if I could. They keep replying to reviews saying this is not their standard but it certainly happens way too often if they is true. Embarrassing.
You ruin my moment in NYC.It’s the most bad experience I never have. Your service and my experience was deplorable.I never be treated like that on my life, you ruin the surprise of my 40th birthday!!!!I come especially for this on you hotel and you were horrible!!!!I’m working on luxury, I was expected a minimum of your hotel. The Asian woman was horrible, she was talking really badly facing me. For me a person working like this woman in this standing of your reputation, it’s to loose value of your Name and the nice building. She was appaling, and the personal was embarrass about her. When we ask me an hotel with a good service, nice building, a nice welcoming and professional in NY it will not be you!!! You are so bad.I bring my own champagne I ask glass for it, the woman tell me drink on you plastic glass on your room… I’ve got a bottle of champagne of 450€ for the 40th of my husband you tell me that…I have to argue to finally 15 minutes after get to glass for my champagne …I pay one of the most beautiful room on your hotel, because I want an exceptional moment for the birthday of my husband, I came especially on your hotel for this big event. And it was so horrible.Today it’s like 1 month I was there, and I still chocked about this experience.
Worst hotel experience Ive ever had. It seemed like someone had been sleeping on the bed just before we were given the room but the worst part was the condition of the toilet 🤢I asked for a new room and was given a room on the 4th floor with a small window and views towards an internal courtyard whilst the hotel prides themselves for the glass-bottom city views. The next day I checked out (1 day early) and when I asked for a reimbursement for the difference in room type, I got a $25 refund. I ended up paying $777 for one night in probably the worst 4 stars hotel in Manhattan. Stayed at the Edition the following night for $420... Beautiful views and impecable service.
Youre paying for a crazy nice view. Its for the instagram. $600/night, King - Highfloor. Room was very small, probably 8*16 (including the washroom). Location is nice, and cheap parking can be found 5 minutes away if you dont pay the 60/24hours for hotel parking. Service is good. Honestly, the night before I stayed at a Tru in Rochester, NY that was overall nicer. If you dont need the view, pass on this hotel. Ill give them the 4/5 because space is at a premium in Manhatten.
Beware of the $40USD early check-in fee that they are now charging and not advising guests of until the very last minute. The rooftop views are lacklustre. Also the pictures online are deceiving; the hotel is not as well maintained. Not worth the price - stay somewhere else.
On January 16th at around 10pm i arrived to the hotel. As soon as i wlaked into the room that i hd reserved called the SKY VIEW KING ROOM i noticed it wasvery dirty, the tv and heater were not working and i tried to call front desk and the phone didnt work either. Next the curtains that covered the windows fell on us which hurt and at this point made me very upset and i took myself downstairs to the front desk to place my complaint because i could not make ith with the phone taht was in the room. The front desk people apologized and said they wouod change us to another room whcih was far more less expensive than the one i had originally paid for but at this point i just wnated to rest. They did say that they would reimburse me for the difference that i had paid originally. Till this day i have not receive any refund of any sort. I have spoken with expedia and taken the time to call and they say that they have not received any notes or notices from the hotel about the change and reimbursement. They have played with my time and the service was awful at this hotel. It has been the worse experince i have ever had at a hotel and i paid around $300 for this room and did not slepp in a $300 room and did not get the service a $300 a night hotel should give their guest.
We received exceptional service from everyone we encountered, including Paola M & Miguel. Paola was the most kind, helpful, and knowledgeable lobby host we ever encountered. We stayed at Arlo Nomad to attend the Macys Thanksgiving Day parade and to see a show on Broadway. Paolo helped us figure out where we wanted to stand during the parade and helped us find the best pizza weve ever had. She also made sure took advantage of the hotels stunning rooftop views and exceptional amenities, including the hotel bar. Paolo made our check-in and checkout processes easy and enjoyable. The hotel was very clean. We loved the views of the city from our room. Our shower had excellent water pressure and temperature, which is always important to us. The bed was comfortable and the service was great from everyone. The price was competitive with other options.
Location is Top, View is good „BUT“ just if you pay extra on the Hotel for us it was 400$. The Room you get when you book you can‘t find pictures in the Internet they‘re good in Marketing. The Rooms are cold and there is always noise and not cool to sleep. The People who work there they are great, but please show all your pics in the internet not only the one with skyview sorry bout that
Great views; Relatively friendly staff; accommodation of package and food delivery; convenient location (right in Korean Town, 10 blocks from Harry Potter store, about 10 blocks from Time Square or Vanderbilt Summit One). Small rooms(underdtandable); No microwave, no free breakfast; parking was expensive ($79 for minivan, $69 for small cars, understandable); no extra comforters/blankets when we requested; Ikea style/quality furniture; corners covered with dusts. Safety note: the room door doesnt automatically close, a push/pull is needed.
I really wanted to like this place. Don’t get me wrong the views are absolutely amazing and the staff was nice. I just thought a few things fell short, especially for the price. Check in time is at 3pm. We showed up and the room wasn’t ready and they weren’t able to tell me when. I asked if it would be about an hour and they just kind of gave me a vague answer and told me they would call me when it was available. I was slightly annoyed, but took it in stride and walked around the neighborhood. About an hour later and still no phone call I checked back at the front desk. I was told our room was ready. Why didn’t they call like they said they would? Who knows. I didn’t ask, I just wanted to get up to the room. We arrive in our room on 23 floor. Like I said amazing views. Floor to ceiling windows, unfortunately there were hand prints all over the windows, which was a disappointment. The black out shades were broken and couldn’t be pulled down. The sheets had stains on them, and lastly the pillows were literally as thin as a pancake. Like no joke you could drape the pillow over your arm like they were deflated. The second floor lounge was a nice place to chill and very spacious. There is a roof top bar, but unfortunately it was closed due to the weather. And there’s tons of delicious Korean food in the neighborhood which is great of you’re into that. All in all a pretty good experience, just felt some things fell short.
This hotel NEVER fails! My boyfriend and I stayed here a while back for his birthday. Since then every month we’ve stayed in the city and non of the hotels can compare. We just returned for our anniversary and the service we received was amazing. So friendly and detail oriented just so they could make a strangers anniversary special. It is beyond clean and comfortable, with a view you will never be able to forget. This is surely our home away from home.
We had a really nice experience here. The room was clean and nice (shower head fantastic! Shower door weird but oh well). Our view was lovely, and the access to the top of the building made it even better. We got great pictures, and walking on the glass bottom balcony was a total trip! Loved the location too. Id recommend this spot to anyone. The rooms are small, but if you arent ok with that you probably shouldnt be staying in Midtown.
Room is small. Air conditioners are also super loud through the night and continue to pump air despite being on auto (they don’t shut off when they reach temperature to at least provide you with some quiet). Bathroom is wonky but the oddest aspect is that the shower still has a shower curtain - mine smelled like mildew. Bed is comfortable but average - and the carpets could use an upgrade - you notice the dirt specifically when the room is so tiny. Lighting is surprisingly good - and the views are nice but they don’t quite make up for the other stuff. Staff also has been really nice. They did upgrade me and they helped me to switch my room after I complained some of the stuff above. And they transferred my luggage to the new room. All in - small rooms with high turnover rates and lots of usage, nice staff, good location, a fun bar on the roof - its a bit of a toss up but comfortable and cheap for the price.
Booked a reservation in July for my trip in October on their website, when I get there, my reservation wasnt found even though I was charged for it. It turns out their online system booked the reservation for the day I made it back in July, so instead of fixing it, they charged me for the night since I was a no-show for July. The elevator system is slow and often doesnt work, the walls are thin and you can hear all the partying going on from neighboring rooms, as well as the elevator dinging all night. Honestly, I wouldnt have minded the noise and elevator if I wasnt ripped off. The place is cute and in a good location with tons of great food around. The service is hit or miss. Two of the employees didnt want to be there and did as little to help as possible.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Arlo for the first time this past weekend. The lobby is small but very welcoming and the front desk staff were very welcoming and accommodating as well. They told us about the rooftop and made us feel right at home. The rooftop was full on Saturday night which is expected so we werent able to see it. However, our room was aesthetically pleasing, clean and small. Even though we had a small room, it was fine since we only stayed one night. The bed was very comfy and the shower was great too. We didnt discover the mini fridge and safe until the morning so make sure to open all the cabinets! We loved the easy check out too. Our favorite part was the collage wall by the elevators. It shows little notes/pictures from the people that stayed at Arlo and where they are from! Its the little things like this that made our stay at Arlo :) We would definitely return!
Meh. Very unimpressed and would not recommend. The lobby and 2nd floor bar look super cute, but that’s pretty much where it ends. Upon check-in I was informed the bathroom door in my room was broken and therefore removed from the room. While it didn’t cause an inconvenience for my stay, it definitely didn’t make a good impression. We stayed at a queen size corner room, the room itself was tiny as expected. However, the ceiling of the room had cracks, the floors were uneven (frayed carpet), outlets not flush, shower corners looked unclean (great water pressure tho😂), the bed was unbelievably squeaky, and the baseboard in the hallway was detached and left unattended. I will say front desk receptionists were all very nice, I just didn’t bother with changing rooms since it was only a one night stay. Overall it felt like the hotel did not care about the construction quality and maintenance of anything beyond the 2nd floor and sadly I will not be returning.
Absolutely loved our stay at the Arlo Nomad! The staff there was so sweet and welcoming. Tasha who checked us in was THE BEST. She really elevated our experience there by catering to our needs. Her customer service really exceeded our expectations. 10/10. Left completely satisfied as a guest
I will never stay Arlo NoMad again. They didn’t know if room was occupied or not. They gave us wrong room key and we needed to step down twice. And the worst thing was very big noisy like drill sound and it lasted for about 1 min 4 times at night. And don’t look forward enjoying sky-view. The Empire State building was barely shown. I really regret that I booked this skyview room. If I hadn’t I could see real skyview at edge or empire state. It’s a terrible management
The front desk staff was courteous and welcoming . The rooms are small . It’s pretty expensive for the service received and the quality of the hotel . Keep in mind that not all the rooms have a nice view of the city even when you book the sky rooms . I was expecting more , it’s overrated
Very disappointed. I really wanted to love this place but it was bad experience. My wife and I chose this place because of its location (which was very good) and for the terrace room that they offered. We booked our one night stay weeks prior to our trip and were very excited. We arrived a bit before check in and they told us our room was not ready yet so we decided to go get lunch while we waited. While out for lunch we received a phone call from the front desk saying that there had been a mistake made on their end and the room we booked (with the terrace) was not available. This was very disappointing considering we chose this hotel because of this specific room. The lady was very apologetic and did offer us a discount but could not get us into a similar room or upgrade us (I assume because no rooms were available). Instead we were in very small room with no outdoor space. On top of that, when I went to take a shower before dinner I found the water pressure to be very poor, so much so I could not wash all of the shampoo out of my hair. I figured something was wrong with our shower so I took a video of it and showed it to the front desk. They said they would send their engineer up while we were out to dinner. When we arrived back they informed us that our water pressure was fine and that was normal for their hotel. We were obviously very frustrated but had no choice but to deal with the circumstances. Like I said, I really wanted to like this place but our experience was not good.
Had a wonderful experience! Booked last minute and was easily accommodated by the staff on the phone and in person. Smaller room, but functional and pretty. Great location, good vibes, and an amazing rooftop open to guests during the day. Will definitely be back soon.
Very nice staff and excellent location. Room very small considering price and mine had no view. Very long wait to check in as well. Room has odd placement of shower, sink, etc. Feels like they retrofitted a hotel room into a structure that was not built to house them.
4PM check-in is an absolute nightmare. Three elevators to handle everyone, and it always seemed like only one was accepting passengers. Initially got keycard only to find it did not work. Tried to call the hotel to ask for help and was put through to reservations. The woman on the phone advised me Id have to call service and when I asked for their number or to be transferred, I was told sorry, I cant do that. Great. Waste another 10 minutes waiting for an elevator to go to the lobby, another 10 minutes in line, and then finally was given a new room. All NYC rooms at this price point are going to be small, so it was expected. What wasnt expected is that there were no hand towels to use to wash your hands (just 2 wash clothes and 2 bath towels in the bathroom, well away from the sink). The lights were confusing to use in the hallway, and the one light on the bed didnt even work. The refrigerator barely kept anything cold. TV takes 15 seconds to flip to the next channel. Oh, and despite thinking you paid for all your hotel fees, they hit you with another $22 fee when you check in. Absolutely abysmal. Avoid this place.
The Arlo Nomad was so good from start to finish. Rachel at the front desk was dope. I work in a luxury hotel and I have high expectations and they exceeded all of them. I got the best room with the best view. The elevator can get backed up at night when their rooftop is popping off but have some patience and just be glad the hotel is booked and blessed. Also our flights were random and they were kind enough to hold our bags for free while the room got ready and after we checked out and played in the city bc we had a night flight.
The Staff were very welcoming & attentive. The room service guys & even through text. Also getting on the elevator. Everyone was so kind. I reviewed the rooms off of YouTube so I already knew the room was going to be small. My room was clean. One of the handles from a window was a little janky but that was no bother. I stayed in a Queen sky view. I dont feel like the bed was a queen size bed. It looked like a full size bed tbh but I dont walk around with a tape measure so its whatever. The view was cool. The building being built in front of us was a distraction but not the hotels fault. Also I spotted a construction worker looking into the rooms from his end. Also not the hotels fault. Just be aware. The night time view was prettier. Room service was pretty quick, no complaints. I ordered breakfast from Butler. They took a little longer but it was probably busy. Food was good, over priced of course but thats the norm. I had an overnight stay so expected a tooth brush & paste but I had to request it. It was very generic. The paste had a weird taste & the brush was too hard. I stepped out to buy my own. I guess I shouldve came prepared. The water was also from your local family dollar. Wasnt even a Poland Spring. Not a huge deal but for as much as I paid, youd think the room wouldve had these little things most hotels include. I enjoyed my time there. Its a good photo opp.Trip typeCoupleRooms4.0Service5.0Location5.0
The hotel is ideally located and nice looking. My room didnt have a bathroom door wich is just a bit too modern for me. People arent asked to wear masks or show proof of vaccination so if you care about that then this is not the place for you. Average guest age is around 25 which can be a pro or con depending on who you are.
I’ve been to this hotel two times and I love it! The rooms are small, but as any NY hotel, but the windows make all the difference. Both of my stays made me very glad. Staff always friendly and helpful. Rooms always clean. I love the rooftop and the view from the hotel. It was exactly was I was looking for! I definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends. I just wish they had bigger rooms so I could bring more friends, but besides that, I’m definitely going to be back!
The hotel was overall a tight space in Nomad. If you could not tell from the pictures, the rooms are quite small. It is a modern hotel with nice sized windows which I appreciated. Other than that, the stay was average. The curtains and shower curtain was really thin and cheap. We did get to move rooms because our tv did not work. Great customer service.
My stay at this hotel was an amazing experience. The aesthetic of the lobby and art on the walls were beautiful. The front desk girls Rachel, Paola, and Nathaly were so sweet and helpful, they really made my stay great and helped me with any questions I had regarding my room. They were very attentive and made sure to accommodate me as much as possible. Would definitely stay here again!
Good location and the large windows and view of the room were perfect. Nice lobby area and the hotel staff were accommodating. Room service was also a bonus. However, the room was not very clean. The a.c. was loud and we had issues with the room temperature, it was either too hot or too cold. The floor in the rooms are carpet which felt unclean so we had to wear socks in the room, and the bottom of our socks were dirty, so you could tell the flooring was icky…we didn’t get a chance to check out the rooftop bar since reservations are required and it was booked full. The elevators take a long time. The view was the only good thing about this hotel. I would not stay here again
The place is just okay. We had a high expectations as i spent a lot of money and did not get the sky view I had in mind. The advertising on their website and instagram photos are very nice. However, they gave us a room with a really bad view. All corners of the supposed view portrayed a construction site and it thus was not enjoyable at all. The room is small as expected however, with a sky view i expected to see the sky not the windows of the other buildings. The sky view in my opinion is one in which you can see the the down town area, not be enclosed with buildings as your view. I hope next time they will first check the view for all the rooms so that the guests can enjoy the stay and relax as soon as they get in. It is common courtesy, As well as human decency to expect what was explained on their main website. However, not only did we not get that , we received less. Thus, we paid money for a worse accommodation than the minimum they were offering. As a customer but also as guest , i dont feel welcome as if I were a guest in their establishment. Nevertheless, i cannot recommend this hotel to anybody in good conscience.
When we got to the hotel there was a bit of an incident with a crazy lady who was not staying at the hotel, Rachel the receptionist made sure that I was okay and kept checking up on us throughout the day. Honestly Such a sweetheart and both my husband and I really appreciate her for making sure our day was not ruined. I also came back to the room with a little surprise from her. We need more attentive people like her. Definitely will recommended Arlo nomad.
The rooms are decent with a nice bed and small desk as you’d expect, but it’s somewhat poorly managed and lacks standard amenities. The phone in the room doesn’t work, you can’t call front desk directly. There’s no tea or coffee in the room so you have to go to the lobby in your pajamas - awkward. Room service must be requested, okay if you are here for a weekend but inconvenient for a 15 day stay. No clear instructions on dry cleaning/laundry service. It has pros and cons.
2 stars only because Rachel gave us very good customer service, otherwise I would have rated the hotel with 1 star. Read reviews and watched videos saying this hotel was incredible, but I dont understand why... We wanted to get the king sky room, but it was very expensive, so we got the queen sky room instead. I didnt expect an awesome view but did expect a good view with excellent room quality and amenities considering the price we paid (more than $300 the night)View was terrible, and the room was HORRIBLE, very dirty and old, we couldnt believe this room costs $300.
All the staff we encountered were very polite and friendly. However, we didnt end up staying at the hotel.Upon entering the room, it didnt feel really clean — shelves were peeling and air didnt feel fresh. We then heard people in the hallway complaining about finding stains on the bed. We took off the sheets to check as well and found stains (ranging from yellow, brown, blood, to mold-looking) all over the mattress protector. We left after seeing that...
I am not one to leave reviews but I had such a great stay that I couldn’t leave without writing about it. The rooms are a good size for NYC, I don’t know why people expect huge rooms in a city like this. The staff went above and beyond to fulfill any request I had, even the doorman was sweet. The common areas are well decorated and clean and you can tell they pay attention to detail. The area is very central as well, makes it super easy to get to downtown or uptown. Highly recommend this place!
I’m in love love love!!!! Such a splendid atmosphere. The vaulted atrium entrance is nothing short of heavenly. I was greeted by three lovely members of the staff who may as well have been angels due to their charm and obvious good looks.I was so smitten, I asked to extend my visit before even seeing the room.Speaking of the room, I never ever want to leave it. If only I wasn’t so hungry lol. Pics are coming of the modern, sleek and slightly futuristic oasis I’m in.Wish you were here!!!
I wanted to love it. But after reflecting on our stay, there were more cons than pros.Pros: welcoming and accommodating front desk staff. The lobby smelled really good (a weird detail, but it was noticable). Floor to ceiling windows on two walls of our room were beautiful. Modern/cozy aesthetic. Close to numerous subway lines and Penn station for easy transit options.Cons: the rooms are tiny, and storage and space isnt utilized as well as their website claims. The only chair in our room was broken, so even if wed wanted to sit on it we couldnt. The bathroom door didnt go up to the ceiling, and had a gap so you could look at someone laying in bed while you sat on the toilet- so you have little to no privacy in the restroom. The rooftop bar was closed due to weather both nights we attempted to make reservations (rain- not their fault) HOWEVER when we decided to go to the second floor lounge, there were two private events so there was no place for hotel guests to relax and enjoy a drink, and the staff made us feel super uncomfortable like we werent allowed to be there (which was funny since we had been at The Campbell a few hours prior and ended up sitting with the GM enjoying drinks, and were made to feel incredibly welcome & invited in a significantly higher end locale). The rooms were clean at a glance, but there was visible mildew and soap scum in the shower if you paused to look. Toilet paper holder was broken so the toilet paper roll kept falling onto the floor. The room key app kept causing my phone to freeze or time out before the key sensor would unlock our room and elevator. I thought it was my phone, but I noticed several employees also fumble with getting the elevators to properly work with their master fabs. Once we got physical keys made at the front desk the elevators and rooms went somewhat better; but after using a similar system at The Guild in Dallas, I found Arlos to be clunky and not very user friendly.So.... aesthetically theyre nailing the trendy/hipster thing... But as far as money spent, it wasnt worth it for two good Instagram pics.
Time and time again this place never fails to make me feel like the warmest guest in the city. Miguel and his team are top notch and I couldn’t see myself staying at another property while visiting NY. Be sure to ask for a corner city room (glass corner) and or the Empire State Building view is sick! Cheers to the Arlo NoMad team, see you all very shortly once again.
I was in NYC for work and was asked by my colleague to stay at the Arlo Nomad as he had heard nice things about it. There was also the possibility of having more of our staff stay here on future business trips depending on how things went.Unfortunately, the experience truly felt short. The check-in process seemed a little disorganized. I was told initially that I would be staying on the 13th floor but then given a room on the 4th floor by someone else. Okay, fine, not a big deal. I was going to be working and not in the hotel room for too long anyway. The room itself was very small. The bathroom has a “sliding door” - you have no privacy if you have someone else traveling with you. The sink is outside the bathroom - very strange.I stayed 3 nights and on my 4th morning, I noticed the bottom of the sheets were filthy. I was so disgusted that I’ve been sleeping in dirty sheets for 3 nights. The air didn’t work - it was hot all 3 nights and all in all, the room just felt like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while.Unfortunately, I found the experience to be too pricey and unclean for me and won’t be recommending to my colleagues or friends.Better to stay elsewhere.
Amazing location for the price. Be forewarned - there is no mini-fridge in the room as the website says. It was explained to me by staff it was only a cooler to keep things room temperature. Why would that even be a useful amenity??? The pillows are extremely thin and lumpy. When the coffee shop in the lobby was closed, they put out complimentary free coffee which is a thoughtful touch. The rooftop has amazing views - go up if weather permits. Dont be in a hurry because the elevators are slow and the automated system sends down specific elevators for you to use. We beat the elevator by taking the stairs from the 13th floor. Even though we took off the do not disturb sign every time we left, our room was not refreshed. If you need more water bottles, tp, tissues, or toiletries check just inside the stairway doors - its all stored there. There are great spaces on the 2nd floor to sit and relax if you dont want to be stuck in the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, Id stay again.
I was really looking forward to an awesome stay at this hotel. But, there some things I have to let yall know. 1. I got a city view room, honestly its not worth it for what I paid for 😔 I got a back view & the window was small. 2. The water faucet it was backwards the cold water was hot and the hot- cold 😒. 3. I paid for the coffee its not even free. 4. The fee!!! when I reserve with my Unlimited Vacation membership they told me there was a $10 for every night stay it turn out to be $20, but they did not mention the $100 deposit which is ridiculous 🙄, not only that looking over the reviews, they dont refund it. I hope that is not my case 🤞. Honestly if you can stay else where for cheaper, do so, I dont really recommend staying here.
Lovely stay. Front desk very professional and friendly, shout to Tiz. Made arrival awesome. Decided on the no housekeeping, an option I just personally preferred. But on arrival room room was super clean, bright, good AC, bathroom good but could improve. Would I comeback, absolutely. FYI don’t do laundry on the place btwn Madison and 5th on 33rd street, ruined 1 shirt and one suit pants.
Front desk receptionist was very personable and friendly. (I dont remember her name.)The room was nice but extremely small!!!Meanwhile, the shower had a too big shower head with a partial glass enclosure with a fabric shower curtain on a few hooks - weird set up.It was okay for the one night we stayed. I wouldnt be comfortable staying there beyond that though just because the room was entirely two small to enjoy the accommodations.
Great hotel. Ive been here a few times and the rooms are always lovely. Every time Ive been here, I got the highest room and its 100% worth it. Great view and on the rooftop, youre right under the empire state building. Staff was always lovely, I even forgot my mask once and they quickly reminded me before I left the lobby. Very attentive, thank you!
Stayed at nomads many times, everytime is great! Dont listen to the ridiculous reviews talking about the restaurant and noise above the rooms! The noise is not bad at all! I have a 5 year old and weve never had a problem with the noise! We sleep perfectly, the very little noise ends super early in the evening. Everyone should appreciate the great restaurant and food instead of worrying and complaining about very little noise! Easy, clean, great little hotel! Owner sean is super cool and the food above is convenient and good! Stay at nomads, its a great stay everytime we go!! One of these days my daughter and I will get the surf package
My wife and I had such high hopes for this place. We had heard really good things and were really excited to stay here. We only live 30 minutes north in Westchester County, but her business meeting was 3 days, so we decided to make a mini vacation out of it.Alas, it was a crushing disappointment. It was 3 days/nights of headaches, aggravations, and inconveniences. Perhaps we caught them on a really “off” week? I don’t know. There were a few positives, like the friendliness and hospitality of the staff. The only reason we’re giving 2 stars instead of 1.Unfortunately, even that was completely tarnished and dampened by the experience. We switched rooms 3 times in 3 days.Night one, thermostat was broken so we slept in an 85 degree room. My wife barely slept, I didn’t sleep at all.The next morning we inform them, so they reassign us a new room. They assure us that their HVAC engineer went up and confirmed that the thermostat in the new room was in proper working order. That wasn’t true. At all. This room was was 84 degrees. We set it to 65 to cool off, never happened. So, we switch rooms a 3rd time.Unfortunately, 3rd time wasn’t the charm. This thermostat finally worked, but Wi-Fi in our room continuously crapped out, making it tremendously frustrating for my wife to get anything done for work.Trying to watch anything on their very limited TV selection was also unbelievably aggravating. Channels would randomly go out in the middle of a show or movie. And here’s one of the biggest issues: for some bizarre reason, they play an add on a loop on their TV’s home screens, and it’s for Fantasy Flirt, or some equally skeevy name. Basically there’s a young woman in a tshirt and underwear sitting on a bed and inviting you into her “private time” via webcam. Why they need to pump this smut into your room every 5 minutes is a mystery to me.But I would advise that if traveling with family, children, or your spouse, go elsewhere or, at the very least, don’t turn on the tv. At all.Listen, the place is relatively modern, fairly trendy, and it looks nice.I guess that’s what made it all that much more of a let down. The Arlo NoMad looks and feels like a place that should be a great experience. We are much more disappointed than angry. In summation; we are coming back down to midtown for a couple of nights next month when we come for a Broadway Show. But now we’ll scope out other options in the area.I wanted to love this place so badly 💔 😔
The hotel removed my original review on here - including the pictures! The review said...Stayed at Room: 2402 Queen Sky ViewPros: Front desk Paula and Athena were wonderful! Both were warm, friendly, respectful, knowledgeable, and very professional. 5 stars right there! And did their best to be accomedating - which I appreciated!Hotel is more modern, loved the floor to ceiling windows, and the bedding was comfy. I didnt go about doing a thorough check but everything was clean.Cons : room is tiny, if it wasnt for the windows, it would feel like a bed surrounded by walls. (literally what it was), the view was nice but there was active construction going on majority of the time and we either had to close the curtains (defeating the purpose of the view) or leave it open and have construction workers CONSTANTLY staring at us, waving, taking pictures with their phones, and yelling/causing chaos from their elevators to get our attention(which were less than 50 feet away). It felt invasive, like we were zoo animals being watched. Very frustrating. The shower curtain is literally hung by 3 buttons, and theres little markings and tears throughout. (not a big deal).Electric curtains also didnt work for us, unfortunately. It was a good 1 time experience, not sure Id return.
Loved this hotel!! Its right in the middle of all the great attractions whether youre catching a lyft or walking a couple blocks. I stayed in the king room where the bed is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows. If I ever build a house I will find a way to do this! The bed and bedding was cloud like. I wish the roof bar was open, it was amazing up there. Especially the glass floor where you can see 31 stories down to the road (not for the weak). The staff was so kind and attentive. I would definitely come back.
Disappointed. They cancelled our roof top rez because of a light mist that lasted a few minutes, it never rained. Inside second story bar serves cheapest prosecco but charges premium rates.. $75 for a $9 bottle of prosecco. Bartender just wanted to go home so he didnt want to pour anything other than beer and wine.
We didnt have time to write on the wall of fame to express how amazing our stay was so I guess this review has to do ... we only stayed for one night yet it exceeded all of my expectations. Please forgive me as I dont remember everyones names but I would like to thank everyone at Arlo for their smiles , warm welcomes and how quick everyone was to jump in and help. However we would like to point out these special individuals who went out of their way to make our stay even better ... Justin and Tislan as well as the security guard and the two hostesses that worked on Wednesday night , Bennie at the rooftop bar and all the staff. Everytime we had a question or needed anything eveyone was so eager and happy to help. The view was amazing the pillows were so fluffy and the bed was super comfy.Thank you so much for the excellent service! This was the best trip ever and Im so happy that Arlo is part of my forever memories.
DISAPOINTED. Since the arrival to the hotel the receptionists were not attentive. When we got to the room the room was TINY, i barely had space to open my luggage. Not even so, the bathroom was even tinier, the water from the douche soaked the whole bathroom floor (or should I say toilet). The blinds from the windows did not cover up enough, we were up at 7 am every day due to the light. There was always a line to go up the elevator (10 min wait).
Terrible they should not charge the same price for the queen sky rooms on the construction site which are room 6 and 7. No worth to stay here. Only good thing was that it is close to Penn station. The room was not dirty but not super clean. When I claimed about the view, they were only telling me that it is just out of their control. To me, they’re just irresponsible and doesn’t care about guests staying in their hotel.
My stay here was very underwhelming. Overpriced room for the space and amenities. Holes in the sheets, some lights weren’t working. The automatic blinds were also askew when we tried to close them for the first time. Someone should have checked out the rooms more thoroughly before guests check in.
The room was very small and me and my boyfriend paid 500$ for one night. The “queen terrace room with city views” but all you see is a construction sight. The picture online for this specific room is a lot differnt then was we had. Leftover dirty socks seem under the bed from a previous stay. Overall not worth it.
This is NOT an hotel, this is a 1 star hostel! People smoke pot in the rooms, partying late in nights. My stay here was a Nightmare! You feel you are in a guesthouse in a sketchy place. I didn’t feel safe in here! People walk without masks as well. The service people continue lying and give you different, contradictory messages which feels this place is in disarray. If you are a mature person who come here for business or wants a quiet place, run and never book this hotel! I used to come here in the past, but this is definitely my LAST time staying here!
The vibe was off as soon as I stepped into the lobby but I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt. For the room rate I was quite surprised that the decor was reminiscent of a cheap hostel that I visited in Barcelona. The room was tinier than expected. The door to your room has a clean sealed sticker that you break upon entering and I was saddened to see multiple stains on the counter around the sink. I ended up cleaning it myself with my own gloves and disinfecting products that I carry with me in these pandemic times as I did not want to go through the pain of having to interact with the nonchalant demeanor of the front desk staff again as I needed this precious time to relax. The saving grace was that the TV had chrome cast and it connected easily to my phone so I gave 2 stars for that. The elevators are old and shabby but not in a chic vintage New York kind of way. During peak check in/out time there was only 1 front desk attendant as the line stretched well into the lobby and passed the snack bar area. I would not stay here again. Not even if it was a complimentary stay.
Be aware. When you make a reservation on Arlos website, there is an option to obtain a late checkout for $75 & also an option for an early checkin for a fee. I noticed that my confirmation did not mention the late checkout that I had purchased online so I called the hotel. After being placed on hold for 20 minutes, I called again. The front desk put me on hold again after telling me that there was no way I had held on for 20 minutes. The person was rude. I finally reached someone on my 3rd attempt & was told that the late checkout option was NOT guaranteed, it is based upon availability. You find out the day of checkout if the late checkout is available. This was not mentioned anywhere in the website. I had called the reservation dept earlier before I booked online & was never told this option was not guaranteed. Very misleading. I wound up cancelling my reservation.
Planned a stay for a week and wanted a hotel that was clean, in a good location to walk where we wanted to go and was a decent neighborhood. ARLO provided all of those. The workers were always polite and helpful. The rooms are smaller but that wasnt a problem for us since we planned on being out most of the time. Clean rooms, excellent showers. The few things things. Were that could if been different is they dont have a complimentary coffee bar except monday and tuesdays and the website specifically states a minifridge in every room which we chose a room that offered that so we could eat in. They dont provide that, instead they have coolers in each room. Otherwise we would stay here again and the price wasnt bad in comparison to new york hotel prices.
I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this hotel!!! I booked the Queen Sky Room (2406). Yes, it is small but efficient. The views are phenomenal!!! Yes, there is some construction going on. But it’s NY, it’s expected 😆!! From the moment I arrived, I was immediately welcomed by staff. The staff was always friendly and accommodating.I knew there was a possiblity I wouldn’t be able to have an early checkin (due to availability) but luckily they arranged it for me ($40 additionally)!!The hotel has a unique and welcoming fragrance. (AMAZING) You will see what I mean if you do decide to stay there! I requested towels and a garbage bag one night, they were at my door in under FIVE minutes!!! Also, the soaps, shampoo and conditioner provided in the shower, smells so good!!!The rooftop was an amazing BONUS, I didn’t even know about it prior to booking. The bar was closed due to covid but I had my own birthday celebration (for my fiancé) up there! AWESOME views! I will definitely be back! It’s centrally located with so much to do around it, even with Covid restrictions! Thanks again guys, see you guys in the summer! Xo
We were here for my birthday. When we checked in we were able to do so early. When we got up to the room the entire floor smelled of weed. They got us another floor.Turns out that during the night people were smoking weed, and our new room smelled like if someone was smoking inside, this is while we were trying to sleep. That was it for us.We contacted Expedia and they told us to get with the hotel as they wouldnt charge us the rest of the stay. The room is small. Like dont get fooled by the pictures when you select a room, you wont get that room, it will be much smaller. The bed was sunked in the middle. The carpet was nasty with multiple burns, so you can tell people smoke here despite their policy.Room felt dirty and outdated overall. Walls are paper thin, you could hear everything including the TV of the next door Guest which was on for about 8 hours.Location is good and the staff was wonderful, but my experience was so terrible that we left the hotel. We are experienced travelers and we have been all around the world, to hundreds of hotels, hostels, airbnbs and we never once had to leave. It was very disappointing.Like I said the staff was great, unfortunately the hotel doesnt reflect the same with its facilities and policies. The GM of operations was the in who checked us out. He was very apologetic and like the previous FD Clerk, agreed to cancel the rest of the stay free of charge. We still pay for our first night. After this experience we would never stay here.
I canceled our original hotel plans elsewhere after seeing videos of rooms at the Arlo that had large windows on 2 sides of the room. As soon as we checked in the associate told us we were not going to be given one of those rooms (before I even asked). A bit annoyed as we paid for the most expensive queen bed room option online expecting that view. Would of stuck with our original plans if we knew what our room would end up looking like. The room was also in need of a deep cleaning. We were concerned for our privacy as there was a lamp askew on the wall, and the air vent facing the bed was also crooked and not entirely shut.... really hoping this is a safe hotel as it has gained a lot of popularity recently online. We wont be back but it was fine for the night.
The first complaint is the rooms are ridiculously tiny. I used to live in ny so I get it, but I could barely move without bumping into everything! The bed and bedding was also terrible. The pillows were the worst pillows filled with lumpy bits. I could barely sleep. The linens are also terrible/ I’m pretty sure sheets from a dollar store would be nicer. My biggest complaint is the size of the room- I agree it’s an overpriced hostel!
Was an hr and a half late to my check in, and they ended up giving my room away, and still charged me for my room. No communication through the app that I used to book either. Forced me to purchase another room when I got there, or be left without accommodations. Overall, reallyyyy bad experience. If you’re coming in from out of town especially, stay away.Edit: Was able to get in contact with the hotel, and they agreed to refund the upgrade fee that I paid to the hotel. Thankful for the outcome, but took some passing around/headache to resolve.
Borderline fraud. Stay away!!!!Tiny. Noisy. It’s a bad joke.Tiny tiny everything. Bed is not a Queen- too short for average size person- your feet are outside the bed. Room is so tiny- no night stand, can’t walk around the bed properly. No place to put a bag except hallway, but the sink is in the tiny hallway. Glass enclosure for shower is a lie- it’s glass wall to the tiny room instead of proper wall, and to close it there is a torn curtain. Toilet is practically in the tiny room, with glass wall/door and no ventilation. The a/c is an extremely loud and noisy unit inside the room itself. So loud you can not get proper sleep or speak comfortably on the phone. I was moved to two rooms- and it’s all the same.Room and elevators don’t work with the app. So you get long check-in check-out linear. And the internet is super slow. Barely 9mg.Stay away!!!!
To be honest, I couldnt find a better place to stay my first time in New York, this hotel its very good, the rooms beside to be small are very comfortable, I stayed on flore 22 and the views were breathtaking, the staff very helpful and kind. Its location its awesome you can find everything very near. I hope to be back soon.
So disappointed, we booked a sky view came in early for the check in and they told us they were going to give us a call and never did we came back 3 hours later and our room was still not ready for checkin even tho it was way past check in time. Rachel tried to help but everything was overbooked and we were greatly dissatisfied. I give it a two just because the guys at the front desk tried but otherwise it would be a 1 star
Assistant manager Rachael suggested I was an “ex girlfriend trying to break into my ex boyfriends room” after requesting a plastic key card due to my phone dying and not being able to utilize the mobile key. the reservation was under my husbands name, therefore not allowing me to request a new card. however, the name calling was also unnecessary. she proceeded to call me the C word in front of about 5 other guests and the security guard (who can confirm it). I was then kicked out of the hotel for “disrespecting” her (I “shooed” her away after she suggested I was an ex girlfriend to my husband). Apparently waving someone away calls for being publicly embarrassed and kicked out of our hotel room. The security guard confirmed himself that she is disrespectful and has requested before that he not work the same shift as her. I will be following up with a phone call to her higher up on Monday.
By far one of the best hotel experienced Ive had. The employees are all super helpful and friendly. Check in was at 3pm, but the hotel had rooms cleaned early, so we were about to check in at around 12pm. In addition, check out was at 12pm and the front desk allowed us to store our belongings with the hotel, so we could explore the city until our flight at night. The hotel also has a roof top that overlooks the city and has an amazing view of the empire state building. There is also a small section of the roof top that has a glass floor that looks down ~31 stories to the ground. The only complaint I would have to say is that the rooms are small.
Busy on a work night but what rooftop isnt. I found it surprisingly affordable contrary to other reviews. It was easy to order a couple of bottles of wine and cocktails and entertain a medium sized group. Nice views. The glass bottom I believe was just a small crowded area so its not a big attraction that everyone gets to enjoy (or fear).
Great hotel . Very very coolStaff was excellent. Restaraunt was goodA bit slow but we came in at weird hours and reminded ourselves we’re on vacation.Highly reccomend as it’s the coolest place I’ve ever stayed. Rooms are small by Midwest standards.Almost forgot the rooftop bar!!
Wow - we spent an evening looking for the best rooftop bar in manhattan, and did we find it?! Yes - this bar has incredible views across NYC, without the high opaque walls which you see in similar places. Incredible views, beautiful location, and lots of fun.Highly recommend!
This is a very cute boutique hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They also have a really delicious breakfast buffet and a snack bar conveniently located in the lobby. I was fortunate enough to get a corner room, which gave me more of a view. Four stars due to tiny room size.
I forgot how i stumbled into finding this place but i am glad i did. Everything about this hotel was perfect. i booked a sky view which was a little pricey but well worth the money for the view. The room was small as expected but it did provide everything needed for the stay. They have a cool rooftop bar but it was closed. I dont know if it was because of the cold weather or not but I wish they could have heaters or covered area so anyone can enjoy throughout the year.i think this place can be a hot spot like other rooftop bars if they really give it attention. Service was excellent. Everyone was nice from the guy who opens the door to the front desk employees who were very friendly. Thank you to the lady in the curly hair for making our anniversary perfect.
The prices have been slashed. The location is great. Front desk employees are very courteous and professional. The rooms have great amenities. Its near everything. Macys, 5th Ave. MSG. Korea Town has great food. They provide valet service. Overall its a great experience for the price.
Good location, nice room with spacious area. Bathroom is good as well. And the biggest thing was the staff offered me a really good service. I had a small issue with my room. And the staff took care of everything for me with full of respect.Thank you for helping me to leave good memory behind in new york!
Such a wonderful Hotel experience. The service was so friendly and amazing. Having chrome cast in your room was a nice touch. Also you get free wine if you are a guest during happy hour. The one thing I’d change if the elevators were faster but it’s definitely not a deal breaker. Love this place!
Love this hotel! The vibe is cool but certainly not pretentious. The staff is extremely friendly and hospitable. The lobby has a great little food/snack counter, the rooms a slick and clean, and the 2nd floor has an amazing common room/area to work or have meetings if you are on business. A great hotel in a great location!
Lovely hotel, the location was great and the room was small but had everything Id need and was very nice other wise and trendy. The view out of my room was beautiful and they had a great lounge on the roof. The service was great also, only problem was that the elevator were annoyingly slow
I really liked this rooftop bar. It’s located in the hotel Arlo NoMad. The drinks were tasty and the bartenders were super nice. You could see the Empire State Building from the bar which is cool. The space is nice and cozy. We went here on a Tuesday night and we had fun. I personally didn’t like the music they were playing but it was still a lot of fun. It’s a nice rooftop bar near Penn Station
Modern, simple yet sophisticated style. Room service was great, environment was clean. My husband and I spent a late summer vacation here while seeing the city. Friendly and helpful staff. Definitely check out the roof top bar - great drinks and a lovely view of the city!
Incredible view of the empire state! Its decently high up and youll have an incredible view of the surroundings. The reason this place has three stars however is for the drinks and music. About the drinks, the quality is a bit subpar for the price. Im cool with the price being what they are for a roof top establishment but the mixology itself was amateurish. Then theres the music. Its like theyre trying to get people to leave by playing the music too loud. For such an amazing view and location, the vibe really sells it short. One last thing, getting up there was a task and a half. The staff on the ground floor didnt even seem to know there was a bar on the roof... Which would be cool except for the fact that they need to buzz you into the elevator.
I love this place for its amazing rooftop and a glass section of the floor looking down on to the street. It’s also a place that’s not known to many. So you might actually get yourself a decent section of the rooftop and chill with friends. Once you’re done with the rooftop check out Her name is Han. It’s a nice spot for dinner.
Absolutely love this hotel. I stayed for one night and I truly did not want to leave. The views are spectacular in the rooms and the roof top, and you definitely get what you pay for. The service, quality and staff are amazing. I couldn’t say one bad thing about this hotel. If you are coming to visit NYC definitely stay here for a night at least to experience spectacular views from your room! Will be back very soon

2022-04-23Rooms have a nice style and some have killer views, and the happy hour cocktails were good. And the roof is great. Staff were also friendly and helpful. The fact the rooms are tiny could be fine based on the above. Also a bummer the gym is 4 blocks away, but that’s manageable.BUT oh wow the elevator situation here. Between guests, staff, and rooftop visitors, it can feel like an age to wait and travel. I was losing it at times. Also no free coffee when the downstairs cafe is open which feels a little silly at any hotel these days.

2022-06-27Get ready to stay in an upscale dorm room here! This place was legit tiny, I couldn’t even open my suitcase. The square footage for the rooms are comparable to other hotels but the design and wasted space is terrible. On top of that, our shower was leaking outside and you have a tiny shower curtain that will blow towards you in the shower when the AC comes on. We also had mysterious bites show up on our arms and legs after staying for 3 nights and praying it’s not bed bugs. The sheets also feel like they were from the dollar store with lint all over and the lamps by our bed did not work. There are no blinds or blackout curtains so your room will be sunny in the AM. If you need plates or silverware for takeout, they do not have any so you’ll have to walk to the nearest convenience store and buy some for this. Last but not least, the hotel decided to do floor work in the hallways and outside the elevator the day of our departure, so it was like an obstacle course getting out. Also the rooftop bar is reservation only for a table and you have to enter your credit card info to reserve. What a joke.2 stars because the room has some nice finishes to it and the location is convenient, but definitely overpriced and overall lacking. We won’t be back.

2022-06-29It was my first stay and they treated me to a room on the 27th floor with spectacular views of the city and the Empire State Building beautifully lit at night! Room was clean and comfy. Shower had great pressure! Staff always friendly and welcoming each time I entered the lobby. It’s close to my office so I look forward to coming back regularly! This is a great place to stay!

2022-03-21This was one of the worst hotel stays I have ever had. I booked a “King City View” room, based off of the gorgeous pictures online, but instead I got a view facing a rooftop and another brick building. I even asked the hotel receptionist if I had a view of the city, and he said “Of course, you are on the 17th floor!” He either had no clue or he was a liar. The worst part was when we were going to sleep and decided to close the blinds. The blinds came off and fell on my husband. I called the receptionist, and after asking if we were okay, the best she could do was downgrade us to a “Queen City View”. She tried to charge me the same price as the King room and said the best she could do was extend our checkout time. After requesting to speak to management in the morning, she then offered me a “20% discount” for the inconvenience. After all of the ridiculous fees and taxes, the total came out to $265.But then there’s more! When we got to our new room, the view was somewhat nicer, but the blinds were not working either, and we were instantly woken up to the sun shining on our faces at 6:00 am, followed by loud drilling from construction work. The only positive things I could say about this hotel is that it was cleanly and the shower felt great. The receptionists are friendly, but not helpful at all. I believe we were better off staying at a more reputable hotel for the same price.

2022-07-11Pretty good! Great location, nice common areas such as the lounge on the second floor and the rooftop. The lounge is necessary if you want to spend much time at the hotel because the rooms are very tiny. Better for one person rather than a couple. But the rooms are at least pretty well designed.

2022-02-27Everything were good, the views, the bedding were so comfortable and new. Nice shower. Extraordinary view. The lobby smelled so good. Brightly clean. Beside they told us the water were shut down due to the neighborhood water pipe repaired. It was few hours.

2021-12-29This is a small and nice hotel in the middle of New York. It is close to a lot of restaurants and places which makes this a convenient spot. Entering the lobby, you’ll be impressed with the beautiful scent from their own home fragrances. This scent really beats away my tiredness from the long 6-hour flight. Modern and cozy lobby as well.Price is a bit high for the compact room; however, the view from room is phenomenon. This is absolutely a spot for photogenic Instagram posts!! What I did was stay only 1 night in this hotel and move to a more spacious and lower price range hotel for the rest of the trip. Doing this can maximize the value of the money spent as well as comfort. There are 2 very nice Korean restaurants next to this hotel which complement the convenience for the stay.

2022-02-22A nice place to stay in NYC. Centrally located and easy to get around the city from here. The rooms are quite but a bit worn, but read the description though as it is accurate about the space being small and effecient. The bathroom situation isn’t super private so unless you are super comfortable with your roommate you may want to look someplace else with more privacy. The staff was adequate in helping with checking in and basic needs but don’t expect them to go above and beyond.

2022-02-21I have mixed feelings about this hotel. On the one hand, their service is great and the staff is really nice. But the room itself, was underwhelming. We booked the sky room which we saw a lot of pictures/videos for which had the floor to ceiling windows along the walls. There’s a few things that we didn’t realize. One is that not every sky room has an amazing view. Some sky rooms are facing a not so great view of NYC. Our view was okay, but not amazing. The second thing is the bathroom is like…a stall. Like, the top of the bathroom door is cut off and it is made of frosted glass. If you are traveling with guests and want any sense of privacy while you are on the john…well…good luck. The rain shower was good though and water pressure was really good. The other major annoyance was the elevator. There’s only 3 elevators for 30 floors and from what we saw only 2 elevators were used for actual guests as we never had the option of using the 1st elevator. So every time we had to use the elevator it took forever to come and during peak times it took like 5-8 minutes. Lastly, I do want to mention the location. It was in a really great location and is close to a lot of attractions. I would stay here purely on location and service but room wise the sky room is a little gimmicky.

2022-02-07Stayed here over the weekend to celebrate my husbands birthday. All was well until it was time to sleep.. because of the two large walls of windows, only one had blinds. The other, longer wall had nothing. It appeared that the blinds had been removed. We call to let the front desk know and were told that the guests the night before had broken it, and she could offer us eye masks (would have appreciated being moved to a different room given that these windows are the entire wall and we knew there was no way we would be able to sleep in past 6 am with the sunlight). We pulled the other set of blinds down on the shorter wall, and it smelled like burnt plastic to the point where we just put it back up (pictures of how torn they were attached as well.) we went to the front desk the next morning to complain and got a different story of how the motor for that second wall had been broken which is why there are no blinds there and were given all of $22 refunded for the inconvenience. Really disappointing given that the room was over $250 dollars. Vacation to me is sleeping in, but I was up at literally 6:30 am. Would absolutely not recommend.
