What a great RV park! Beautiful wooded campground right along the picturesque Mohawk River. The sites are spread out leaving numerous beautiful open areas of grass and woods, and the grounds are immaculately kept. Wendy and her son, Brad, who run the place are always friendly, cheerful, and extremely accommodating. We live in Phoenix and RV cross country every summer. This is one of the nicest RV parks we have ever stayed in! Last summer we were here for 4 days and loved it, so this summer we stayed for 2 weeks. We are definitely coming back here next summer and will do at least 2 weeks, possibly 3. If youre ever in New Yorks capital region this is definitely the park to stay in.
The owners were very nice. The park is beautiful and very well kept. We used the washers and dryers and they were very clean and worked well. We found the bath houses very clean. This park is one of the nicest parks we have stayed in on our journey across America. Shower heads sucked or I would of given them five stars.
Running into multiple problems due to Covid, the Staff/Owner here went above and beyond to accommodate us when we kept having to change our plans. They were just wonderful in making a very difficult time for us so much easier....and with never a complaint or eye roll!! The sites are large and level, the grounds beautiful and meticulously kept, with multiple areas to walk the dogs (including a very nice dog park). There isnt much for children to do (no pool or playground, though fishing is available), so the park is populated with an older crowd...which keeps it very quiet..another plus :) The restrooms remain closed (Covid), but the laundry room was immaculate, and very reasonably priced. The location is ideal for easy access to Schenectady, Albany or Troy....with grocery stores and Walmart an easy few minutes away.
What a lovely park. The sites are grassy with crushed stone landing pads. We were in site 50, which was the end site where we faced a grove of trees with the river and marina beyond. There’s plenty of green space and shade trees in the park, and it’s beautifully maintained. Even though it’s very convenient to Interstate 90, there’s very little road noise. We were sorry we only had one night to stay, and would definitely stay here again.
This is one of nicest RV parks we have been to. We are full timers and have been on the road for 9 and 3/4 months. This park is beautiful. The RV spots are level and solid. The spacing is great. The lawns are wonderful. The docks on the river are great and the river is scenic. The staff was very helpful. The people here have been great. If you are looking for country atmosphere on the water and scenic views - this is a great place. I sure hope to return to this RV park again.
Great place to unwind. Owners are very nice and pleasant. They take great pride in their campground. You can tell by the way it is maintained. We have been there twice both times camping and boating. Not a lot for children to do, but we knew about this before hand and took lots of games to keep them busy. Cant wait for the next trip to Arrowhead.
This park is absolutely gorgeous! Seated on the Mohawk River, with immaculate grounds, and elegant trees, this campground is a hidden gem. The owners are helpful and extremely friendly. It is dog friendly with a fenced dog park on site. The only downside, is that it is 1300 miles from home, but that wont keep us away for long...
One of my favorite campgrounds! A quiet and peaceful spot with many old trees and lots of open grass areas, within just a few minutes of downtown Schenectady. A paved rail trail starts just a quarter mile from the park, and there are hiking and biking trails within fifteen minutes. Not all sites are full hookup, but the park offers a very reasonably priced pumping service so there is no need to leave your site or get your hands dirty :) The staff is super friendly and helpful, and go out of their way to make your stay a good one. Will be back as often as I am in the area!
This is a small, but quiet and peaceful park, close to Schenectady and Amsterdam, NY. The RVs were closer together than I like, but its clean with park-like areas where RVs are not parked. Situated on the Mohawk River, unfortunately there is no beach or swimming, but its pleasant to sit on the dock and relax in the sun.
As fulltime RVers we long for peace and quiet and not the hectic family oriented RV resorts with playgrounds and jumping castles. This one fit the bill perfectly. It is a beautiful, secluded riverside RV park nestled in the woods. So relaxing! Owners were friendly and genuinely cared about their customers enjoyment and their park. We didnt use the restrooms or laundry so I cant really rate them, but I did see campers using them frequently. Plenty of breathing room between sites, even for our 45 motorhome. Train noise, as it always seems to be, is present but were used to it so it wasnt an issue. If we were ever in the area again we would definitely stay here.
What a pleasant RV park. As compared to other G & G ( Gravel & Grass ), I rated this 4 stars. Heres why:Easy access right off the Interstate, but the park itself doesnt get the highway noise. You will however from time to time hear a train but not an issue. The owner is also very nice and helpful. The park is well maintained. The infrastructure is aging a bit and to be fair, that factored into to my 4 star rating. I would have given this park a 4.5 if it could be done on Google. We did not however have any issues with water, but had to use our 30 AMP adapter on our 50 AMP power cord. Weather was temperate, so no issues using our Coleman Mach 3+ and not our Mach 15 AC.G & G (Gravel & Grass). We did not have to use levelers in our spot, which had a view that was so awesome. Our front yard was the Mohawk River. You cant beat that. The park is beautiful with huge and very old trees throughout. There are docks for boats / jet skis / fishing.A truly great RV park. One of the best!!BTW:7/2020 - Rolling Bones RVing - Just an FYI if you are planning on using I-88 Eastbound. There is a stretch of this Interstate that is a nightmare due to the extremely eroded road surface. Even at speeds less than 55 mph, my TPMS alarm on my RV kept going off because the trailer was bouncing around so much and I use a Pro Pride 1400 hitch. This road will literally beat the hell out of you and your vehicle. Avoid it at all cost and take the scenic route. Fortunately the road is being worked on.
This is a great overnight spot as youre traveling on the I-90. Close to an exit. They have some large drive through sites. We were able to stay connected to our travel trailer for an easy set up and departure the following day. They have cable tv and wifi but we didnt use them. The RV antenna was able to pick up the local channels just fine.
I cannot rate the place, but the people on the telephone were a special kind of.... something.I spoke with a female earlier today who was happy to lecture and berate me about them closing on October 15th. No, I am not too stupid to understand that. I left a review about that with the directory site who led me to them.I was lucky enough to receive a follow up call this evening from another woman who says she was returning messages, and when I related the earlier experience, she simply said, Oh, thats too bad, I was just returning YOUR call. I got tired of her nonsense and hung up, thinking that would be the end of it. Well, I was wrong. She called me back to lecture me about how she talked to her son, and he didnt know anything about this matter (shocking!). I asked her what she wanted from me, and instead of answering, she continued to lecture about how her son was in the office all day, and she was away all day. Three requests for what she wants from me later, she says, I can see you have an attitude, goodBYE.I do hope the place is worth dealing with the people. :/
Absolutely biker unfriendly a horrible campsite for tenting on the Erie canal cyclingTrail we pays 30 dollars for a dirty tenting site and the restrooms are not really betterAsk at at a lock for tenting and everything is fine if you are a cyclist pass this rv park you can stay on lock 9 and 10 for free
This is a beautiful campground that accepts cash or check only. The restrooms and showers were nice, as was the dump station. No problems with the electric or water at our site, which was well marked, shaded, and level. The Mohawk Hudson Bike Hike Trail runs right along the other side of the Mohawk River, with an access trail starting at the park and ride in front of the campground. It was quiet and beautiful!

2022-06-18We had a great experience here. Our site had 50amp, water and sewer service on the river. The laundry facility was awesome and included a change machine. Indeed it was an older crowd but that was very appealing. We would definitely stay here again.

2022-06-08FANTASTIC!This a peaceful, beautiful and spacious, yet heavily wooded RV campground with 100 year old trees, sitting right on the banks of the Mohawk River, part of the Erie Canal system. The owners are gracious, generous and extremely friendly. Will stay here every chance we get!

2022-06-29This is our second visit to this campground. The first visit was only an overnight stop but we loved it so much we planned to come back for a longer stay if we were back in this area.First of all, its beautiful. Its very quiet and peaceful with lots of grass and trees on the banks of the Mohawk River. The sites are large - long enough to park our 41 foot 5th wheel and truck easily with plenty of space between us and our neighbors. A lot of the folks here are seasonal but unlike some campgrounds with a large seasonal component, its clean and extremely well landscaped and maintained. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. And while you feel as though you are in the middle of nowhere, Schenectady and even Albany are just a short drive away.Of course, nothings perfect. Satellite coverage is hit or miss (ours was a miss), as is the wi-fi and cell signal. But when you are sitting on a chair overlooking the river, watching the occasional boat go by, you dont really miss the contact with the outside world.

2021-06-21What a great place to stay.We stayed here 4 years ago while visiting family in the area.So happy spend whole summer here, this time. Owners Wendy and Brad are great. They go out of their way to help you in any way.We could have stayed closer to family but rather stay here. Enjoy the peace and quiet.Very easy access to NY Thruway.Beautiful views on Mohawk River. Lots of shade. Very quiet. Train rumbles by several times but really don’t hear it.Highly recommend to stay here.

2021-06-13This RV park is delightful for an overnight stay. Right on the river, very scenic and fairly quiet. There is a train that passes by on the other side but we barely heard it. Lots of cottonwood trees and the cotton was flying so if youre allergic to that...stay inside during the few weeks when this happens.

2020-09-09We called last minute as our reservation was cancelled at Turning Stone ( see our 1 star rating for them). The manager in the phone was delightful. She said she would be here and had a site ready for us! She gave us clear directions and was just lovely. She told us all about the amenities including firewood. We pulled into our site that was nice new gravel, clean and easy hook up including cable tv and WiFi. They have a dog park area and are on a nice River. Everyone was kind and considerate. They were our saving grace and wrapped up our last night of an 8 day travel vacation to Bar Harbour Maine! STAY HERE IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA FOR ANY REASON!!
