I stayed in Greenwich Village during my stay in New York City. Based mostly on recommendations and Google reviews, I tried literally 11 pizza by the slice joints in 3 days.I only ordered cheese/plain slices.Artistic Pizza was my first stop and is definitely in the top three. Good balance of a great tasting sauce, amount of cheese and crust. I strongly recommend giving this place a try. The crust was crisp which made it easy to eat while walking to the next pizza stop. This $2 slice had $3 flavor.Below is a list of all the places with my ratings:--Day 1--Artistic Pizza 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕99 Cent Fresh Slice 🍕 🍕Nolita Pizza 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕--Day 2--Percys Pizza 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕Bleecker Street Pizza 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕Joes Pizza 🍕🍕🍕JRs Pizza and Brew 🍕🍕🍕🍕--Day 3--5 Boroughs Pizza 🍕🍕🍕Ignazios 🍕🍕🍕🍕Fresh 99 Cents Pizza 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕99 Cent Supreme Slice 🍕
Dont waste your time. I dont think this place is even open anymore. They accept orders on the delivery apps but do not deliver and have no working phone.Update: thanks for the response you should probably close your delivery apps so they are not allowing people to place orders. We were waiting an hour trying to reach you as seamless said you were on the way.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars… the pizza is amazing!! Me and my girlfriends have been here 3 nights in a row. Artistic pizza is so delicious you dream about it at night. The location is so convenient since it is a 3 minute walk from Washington square park. The guys that work there are super nice and funny. Please come here and enjoy their divine pizza!
Utterly quaint HIT-W (Hole In The Wall) Pizza Parlor set against the backdrop of a bustling 6th Avenue Manhattan. With a pleasant, conversational staff, and scrumptious vegan pizza, what more can you ask for from a place that serves one of New York’s comfort food? Will be visiting again!
Is convenience enough? Weighing cost and availability, Artistic Pizza gets three stars from me. On Pizza alone, this review might have been a Two.With more and more Vegan options available in NYC, just having non-dairy cheese and soy-sausages wont win you any awards. While Artistic Pizza has the right ovens for getting that NY slice shop effect, and a good thing going for the texture of their crust, there was no flavors worth noting here.If they keep tweaking the formula here, Artistic may soon enough compete in the Vegan Slice wars, but for now their Pizza needs some more Punch.
Initially, I came to Artistic Pizza because it was close to the park- I’ve tried other pizza joints around West 4th but there’s a reason I always wind up back here as my steady pizza spot. I dress my cheese slice in all the fixings with hot sauce on the side. Since becoming a regular, I’ve brought others and they’ve enjoyed the same hot pizza served with warm smiles. Not to mention, the decor being the most inviting of the other spots in the area by far. Come here late night- or even just for lunch & patronize my friends and enjoy good pizza!
Joes gets the hype, but this place just up the block is way better. Same style pizza we expect, thin with crispy crust, foldable, but friendly staff, cleaner environment, and I actually like the flavor more as well. Also, VEGETARIAN AND VEGAN slices as well. Pretty cool little shop.
Recently visited NY and we were pretty hungry and found this little gem near Washington Square park. Ordered plain and Margherita pizza and my god were they delicious. The guy made sure we got it piping hot as well and was very courteous. Have to say one of the best pizza slices we have had in a long time. No fuss just delicious pizza and the drinks(water, soda) did not cost us an arm and a leg.
Shakir & Akram hold it down with the legendary late night slices. This place is better than Benjamin’s Pizza in the corner based on quality & prices. I love my boys and they love me. They’ll love you too. There is a large community who could agree just as much as I do.
This is the best vegan pizza in New York City without a doubt and they serve it by the slice as well! The owners care about what theyre doing and that is evident in the product theyre putting out. Currently they are using one of the higher-end cheeses on the market however Im told they are in the process of developing their own cheese and possibly Seitan so stay tuned for an update to this review :)Other than having great food they are also quite friendly and care about their vegan customers. The only issue I have is that this location is not large enough 🍕🍕🍕
I had some extra time before work today, and was hungry, so decided to finally check this place out. I had gotten their vegan mixed veggie slice, and it did not disappoint! I know that pizza, as a whole, is junk food, but this was something that hit the spot in all the right ways! Whenever I need a junk food fix and am in this part of town again, Im definitely coming here. Plus, their customer service was outstanding, and we were all just exchanging positives to one another the whole time! I live in another borough. But am very tempted to order a pie from here and have it when I get home, after my. 1.5 hour commute
They dont wear hair nets, gloves, aprons nor masks, and talk/yell/laugh at each other over the food, plus they dont keep the inside nor outside areas clean, so thats a turn off.I did reluctantly try the vegan pizza anyway, and it was ok, but I couldnt really enjoy it because the dirty environment and work habits made me gag. I just dont trust it. Not taking anymore chances of getting sick eating there.
I tried their pizzas before and thought they were good. I wanted them to do well - its nice to have something nearby that takes card. I work right around the corner. Less than half a block away from the pizza company. I requested the day before in person about an order for 7 pizzas. Not a lot of pizzas. They arrive more than a half an hour late. If I cant reliably get pizza from a company literally around the corner from where I work, I cant rely on them for catering. I get that they are a small staff and that they are new, but I wont be ordering pizza from them again if they cannot reliably deliver their product to the customer in a timely fashion. Sorry, Artistic. ;/
There are many pizza places in the Village to choose from and I have been to many of them. The new kid on the block is Artistic pizza. Its a small place best suited to take out but the customer service is excellent. The pizza is delicious, nice crunchy crust and cheesy top. Out of all the other pizza places in the Village it offers the best tasting pizza.
Artistic Pizza, please take over the world, slice by slice! First time I am trying your vegan pizzas and wow am I so fulfilled! Your dough is perfect (slightly chewy but soft), the quality toppings REAL mushrooms! yummy vegan meat) and the vegan options, astoundingly flavorful. The sauce is delicious and has a refined almost garlic twist. You have a forever customer!
I have never ever met a owner of a pizza joint that was more passionate about his product. When they were constructing the place I said to my coworkers this place won’t beat mercato’s or ben’s. THIS PLACE PLACE IS 200 times better than both. The man buys fresh produce no frozen veggies, and the pizza always taste fresh crisp and delicious. Friendly staff and they take card as a small business that is clutch. Order the margarita slice and the pepperoni and sausage, thank me later.

2022-09-02I try to eat vegan most of my weeks and this is the BEST vegan pizza I have found in NY.I also tried some standard pizzas and they were great. The prices are a bit higher but nothing crazy and totally worth it - specially for the vegan options. The venue is kind of small so I would recommend taking them to go and having lunch in Washington Square Park but it does have places to seat.

2022-09-19Got the Vegan pizza. I liked the cheese. I do not like the white because it tasted a bit sweet. The Buffalo pizza was good. Staff was nice. I would rate 3.5 stars

2021-11-24I’m so happy to find this place. They have varieties of vegan pizzas. I’ve been looking for non dairy pizzas in NYC while I was visiting. The price is about the same as the regular dairy pizza. The vegan pizza tastes just like regular dairy pizza. I can’t even tell the difference between the regular dairy and non dairy pizzas. The place is very small. There’s a small space in the corner to eat inside the restaurant. You can also eat at the patio but there’s only 1 table available if I’m not mistaken. It’s a typical NY thin crust pizza but it’s non dairy and just as good as dairy pizza. I wasn’t lactose intolerant in the past, I used to eat dairy pizzas. As I get older, I become more sensitive to dairy. They also have gluten free pizzas. They have just everything (dairy, vegan, and gluten free). I highly recommend this place. Good price and very tasty vegan pizzas 🍕if you order online directly on their website instead of through Grubhub you can get 10% discount because Grubhub is a rip off! It makes sense the code for the coupon is Grubhubsucks! Lol 😂

2022-03-08Artistic Pizza is a tiny pizzeria on West Third, close to Sixth Avenue. there are a few seats by the window. the space is fairly clean and organized. there are a variety of pies on display. there’s not a lot of interior space, so most people grab n go. there’s a small fridge filled with soft drinks.the pizza here is kinda average—not bad, not great. Artistic Pizza basically feeds NYU students, drunken bar goers, and hungry folks looking for a bite. went here two different times—got a plain slice the first time. the plain slice is okay/good, doesn’t travel well, the sauce errs on the sweet side, it’s covered in melty mozzarella, and the the crust is airy and soft (no crispness). the second time, i got a Margherita slice—sauce is fairly sweet, the blobs of mozzarella were soft and melty, the crust was airy and had a a little crispness to it. the slices are cut kinda small imo. didn’t mind the smaller size on the plain slice bc it is a $2 + tip but the Margherita is like $4.50 + tip for a pretty small piece. maybe they make smaller pies but they don’t seem to be the normal 18” NYc pies. the other issue is i don’t think the pizza oven gets hot enough bc even when the slice are reheated there is no crisp firmness to the crust.the staff is really nice and friendly. i wished the pizza was better bc their upbeat-ness warrants 4 stars.

2022-08-08You can get two slices and a drink for a decent price, though its not the best pizza. I got two slices of cheese when I arrived on the street a bit early for a comedy show. Its a good stop for a cheap meal before going to one of the events happening in the area.

2022-06-29Really good authentic NYC pizza. The staff was very friendly, the price was reasonable and there was many vegan options.

2022-08-11LOTS of vegan options! The spicy flavor wasn’t very spicy though (to me) and the cheese on it felt a little too gooey for me — but the white slice was fab!!

2022-06-11Good vegan pizza!Artistic Pizza is definitely a decent plant based spot near Washington Square Park in NYC, they offer regular pies as well but as a vegan I’ll always try a new pizza joint if I can scout one out. I got the white pizza, and it was good but not quite what I was expecting, so next time I think I’ll just stick with the margherita.

2022-07-29This slice gets slept on. It is very very good. Its made it into our regular rotation every time were visiting the city.

2022-04-30It’s tiny, with 3 tall stools in a corner by the window, so it’s definitely more of an order-to-go place. I can’t speak for their regular pizza, so take this review with a grain of salt. I have Crohn’s, so I got the gluten free/vegan pizza, basically a Margherita personal pizza. I was underwhelmed—it seems like they had a thin, pre-made gluten free crust, and it was burnt. Once you’ve had Keste’s gluten free crust, not much comes close. I’m still going to continue hunting for the perfect gf/df pizza!
