This wasn’t what I thought it would be. Yes, I realize that it is Chelsea but I really thought we could find some deals. I appreciated the artist’s beautiful work but I believe the rent here keeps the prices high. I wanted to take some art home but I just couldn’t part with that much.
For anyone that is thinking of selling here, please save your time energy and money and dont do it. This was one of the worst business decisions I have made. We booked one of the weeks of Xmas which allegedly are supposed to be the busiest retail weeks of the year and paid 1500 for that privilege. Allegedly during a normal week any time of the year the foot flow should be around 20000, so you would expect it to be even more than that in December. It was not, at most it was 2000 during the whole day, and thats being generous. The space they give is random you can get a corner or a space that has a huge cement collum blocking 30% of your space. If you are one of the few vendors who actually make more than the fee you paid, you are blessed, since I didnt see anyone making more than 0-3 sales in an hour. Again please save your money and as a small business invest into something that will actually help like online ads or go to a farmers market that charges 50 dollars not 1500,since its not a drop in the ocean for anyone. Hope this helped someone, because I would give my left hand for this kind of information before I prepared for scam artists and fleas.
I used to love this place 3 and 4 years ago. Now the pandemic has taken its toll, and I find the unique vendors are gone and it seems more touristy now. There is good jewelry but it is not cheap, no bargains here. A lot of NY t-shirts and prints that you can find anywhere.
This place could be a whole lot better. I feel like they need better vendor type / quality control. For example, the item variety, price range, etc. could be better adjusted to reflect the general customer base coming to the market. In other words... are having booths that sell baby toy figurines or political t-shirts / prints representative of the wants the general customer base coming to Chelsea Market have?
I bought a gold filled necklace from Dani And The Rings, Chelsea market on the 29th of December 2019. It has small stones on it. After 1 month of returning to Omaha (28th December) I saw that the small stone settings and the clasp had turned black. And I has not even worn it yet. It was still in the box with zero external contact. No skin or chemical contact. I went out to the team of Dani And The Rings and asked for an explanation. Luchiya Vavouliotis repeatedly accused me of lying and said that I had unbalanced acidic skin pH (how rude and offensive) and that I had worn the necklace where I had never even taken it out of the box.I tried convincing them but after a point they refused to reply. I am thoroughly offended and disgusted with their service and manners and would never recommend them to anyone. And I paid $ 43.55 for the necklace for which they did not even offer to replace it.
This is a really fun and cool collection of independent sellers selling a multitude of different products and such! My boyfriend got a great beard kit featuring a beard balm, oil and brush. I loved getting a chance to support small businesses within Chelsea market! Really close to food and other attractions like the high line.
Was really disappointed at this local spot. Was hopeful for a few unique gifts or some homeware and the place was basically empty.I am not leaving the 1 star for the quality of work there, but for a place named artists and fleas I was expecting more than just a few hand crafted jewelry stands and a few other vendors.Largely the place was empty. There didn’t seem to be much beyond the jewelry and a few handmade items.Maybe rename it Jewelry & Not more or something.
My family and I loved our visit to Artists and Fleas although It is not an actual flea market! Its various artists selling their products which are very original and one-of-a-kind. We bought some lovely things which are a fab reminder of our holiday! Gorgeous things available although I didnt really feel comfortable to barter! But thats maybe just me! Between us we bought jewellery, lip balms, scarves and hats! Definitely worth a visit! And the coffee stand is out of this world! The best hot chocolate I have ever tasted!
My absolute favorite year-round spot in the city that offers amazing artist-made items. Definitely a must-see and shop for some loved ones. My favorite booth is RKNYC (which is also at the Artist and Fleas Soho location). Youll find unique items and (usually) get to meet the artist who created the items.
Nice and artsy market place. A little on expensive side. But if you just want to explore and have some time to kill this could be it. There are all kind of shops and grocery stores, local vendors to name brands. If you get an eye for cool stuff you’ll love it. definitely worth a visit.
As a lover of handmade goods (and a maker myself) Artists & Fleas was a really cool space to check out. There were several vendors set up with very unique and well thought out displays. Lots of jewelry but a variety of vintage goods, art, home goods, and fashion as well. If youre checking out the Chelsea Market, I recommend popping into this space - you never know what youll find!
I had high expectations for Chelsea markets, but didnt expect it to be mostly food stores. Coming across Artists & Fleas really saved the trip for me. Hand-crafted stalls from the makers. High quality goods, not distributing imported rubbish, but expect to pay more for handcrafted than you would from chain stores, etc. You are supporting a maker, and they dont have the efficiency and economy of large scale operations. The upside is that their works are small production and unique. Lots of jewellery, some very cool clothing, smelly body products and some art work.
Artists and Fleas is a fun place to visit, but beware of the crowded, small aisles and over-assertive both owners. I get it, since they need to pay for their both, but you can only say no politely so many times! Still, lots of cute merchandise with a very hipster bent.
Lots of cute stuff, lots of kitsch. Great place to bring out-of-towners looking to shop for more unique things after a walk along the Highline. Most of the vendors have pretty reasonable prices considering its in Chelsea. Vendors change every so often, as does their stock, which makes repeat visits more worthwhile.
I did not know what to expect and was not disappointed: it is in Chelsea Market and is comprised of several local artists (who might not heft the rent of the venue space alone, but all together its not such a burden?), but also not a full blown flea market. Theres jewelry, clothing, bags, one booth lets you build your own jewelry. Prices are not cheap, but fair. Its art. Artists need to eat, too. Loved the Tree Shirts.
This is a cool place to check out for jewelry, pieces of art, gifts for friends and family, etc. Coming on a Saturday, this place was pretty packed as all the vendors are right next to each other. Theres a lot to see so it can be a bit overwhelming. I got two pieces of jewelry here which I love. The majority of the vendors are jewelry but there were also some clothing, wallets, sunglasses. There was a live DJ when I went which was pretty neat. After checking out Artists & Fleas, feel free to stop by Smorgasburg.
I went to the artists and fleas location at Chelsea market (there are multiple locations). My intent was to try and find some physical art pieces for my apartment (I wasnt too picky on medium). But this is not for that.Artists and fleas had around 10 vendors. Mostly selling bougie tote bags and hipster t shirts and accessories. Not to say I dont love that kind of product, but dont be deceived by the name the only type of art youll find here is one photographer vendor. The rest is just etsy esque jewelry and beard products
Come here often, and its hit or miss. I was looking for some mens jewelry/bracelets and found some at one of the booths. Too bad the booth smelled like weed and all of the stuff was made in China knockoffs of Miansai. From the hook bracelets to the screw and bar cuffs, they had it all. I cant believe that they get away with it, Miansai should totally take legal action.

2021-09-25An extremely unique adventure of art and fashion crammed into a retro thrift shop flea crowd. The hours are a bit limited and the official entrance of 88 10th Avenue isnt quite noticable however tons of potential.Suggestion : a small tapas and beverage option outside the entrance. My favorite stops were Moonrise Candle Co. and Habibi Fashions.A must see. #R76

2022-04-17This place is very nice, full of friendly and talented vendors, mainly artists with a few flea and vintage sellers. VERY crowded and tight isles, no one is controlling the people in and out ratio so it is very loud. Highly recommend!

2022-06-14This is a great place to support local artists and vendors. The selection includes clothes, jewelry, fragrance, and more. It might be a bit pricey depending on the vendor, but when the quality is decent, it is worth it.
