Amazing quaint place in downtown. Went there for dinner and was pleasantly surprised with the cozy ambience and the interesting aromas hitting your nose. I had ordered a dolsot bibim bop with chicken along with crabsticks. The staff over there are very courteous and help out with the dishes if you want recommendations. If you love asian food then Asia cuisine is a must visit!
We ordered 4 rolls of sushi. they were perfect. philadelphia roll, bay roll, spicy salmon, and the ithaca roll. SO GOOD! we also ordered korean style chinese fried rice with beef, and a fried-shrimp (saucy) dish , yakisoba noodle with shrimps... they were the best. reasonable price. altogether it was around $86.
I was so hungry and it was so good that I didn’t grab a photo.I got the K8 and my boyfriend had the bibimap. Both were good. I was very happy with mine. The vermicelli and beef were cooked very well. The menu is large and I feel like anyone could find something they like here. They have spicy and not spicy, seafood/meat/vegetarian/vegan.They also have Sake and Asian wine and beer. They have Korean entrees, Korean Chinese dishes, and sushi.
One of the worst Korean food experiences that I have ever had. No side dishes were given, not even Kimchi. I ordered a Daegu Mae Un Tang. It was white soup with barely any fish, and it was tasteless. It was as if chef with no Korean food experience made the dish. Very disappointing. This is not authentic Korean restaurant, and I do not recommend this place.
We stopped in on our way through town on a road trip. The ale house was too busy and we picked this on a whim, but it was amazing!Im picky as can be with food and was at first intimidated by the menu, but there are several unspicy gems on the menu including vegetarian options. My friend enjoyed a large selection of sushi rolls and was very happy with them. The staff were kind, the food was delicious and quick, the restaurant had fans and decent a/c. Go on a weekend and park for free in the municipal lot a couple blocks away.If I ever return to Ithaca Ill be back!!
We went on waterfalls road trip, and found this amazing satisfying Asian food. I have been eating salad, fries, pizza and pasta for past few day. Their spicy hot noodles soup just warm my heart. Mmmmm....My daughter has sever peanut allergy, so we have limited food choices. We ordered tofu bento box for her. She LOVE IT so much.Thank you again for saving our soul.
This is an absolutely lovely little restaurant. What they lack in space they make up for it with an expansive menu full of incredibly delicious dishes. I never worry about ordering something new from here because everything is just so tasty. The prices are fair for the food quality and portions. The staff are super friendly and attentive. If it gets really busy the service might be a little slow going, but they always seem to do a good job handling a busy dinner service.Definitely worth the trip, you won’t regret it.I know this is such a glowing review it sounds unreal but this is just my absolute favorite restaurant in Ithaca, hands down.P.S. Don’t forget to tip your wait staff people, there is literally never an excuse not to.
My wife and I avoided Asia Cuisine for a long time due to the generic exterior. I want that time back. This gem has terrific food at great prices. The sushi is outstanding, including the vegetarian sushi options. It manages to be an Asian restaurant that does Korean and sushi exceptionally well. This is a popular spot with cozy tables, so be prepared for a small (~15 minutes) wait during peak hours.
This place just knocked my socks off. The server was very very nice and pointed out window seat after we sat at Center table. I wouldn’t have noticed and the window table was much better so we really appreciated this. The food was soooo good. The homemade wheat noodles are good. And the sushi was out of this world. So so good. We had a wonderful experience. Thank you so much!!! Can’t wait to come back!!
This is seriously the best place to eat sushi in Ithaca. Their rolls are prepared consistently and are always delicious. The restaurant is small but is in a great location. The servers are friendly and helpful. If you go during the week or during the day on the weekends, they are fast and attentive to the patrons. (Weve been going there once a month for a few years now and have always had great service.) During Friday and Saturday evenings the space is too small and there arent enough servers to keep things moving quickly. (We made the mistake of going on a Saturday evening around 6pm and the service was horrible. One server for the entire restaurant. Everyone loves this place but they need more help on the weekend.) As long as you know when to go, you wont be disappointed.
Probably my favorite restaurant in Ithaca. Food is superb and the price matches the quality I think. Others must think the same because its been busy every time Ive gone. Staff is efficient, I never feel rushed, and orders are always correct. Love the atmosphere- its a tiny place, but I feel like Im in someones house for dinner! Would recommend!
The food here is amazing and the people who run the place are super kind, helpful, and friendly. Ive been here many times for eat-in and take-out and the experience and food is always fantastic. They have been great with accommodating a few of my friends allergies too.
This is hands down my absolute favorite sushi restaurant in Ithaca (and probably all of upstate New York). The rolls are always filled with the freshest fish (get the spicy shrimp roll), the appetizers are unique and delicious (try the avocado salad) and the hot corn tea is killer. Service can be delayed at times but thats only because its a medium sized dining area and theyre super popular. WELL worth any wait.
My friend took me here after one of his friends took him, and it was spectacular! I had a deep fried California roll and I couldnt stop thinking about the taste for days! The waiter was very friendly and the food was a very good deal! I cant wait to go back there again sometime!
Excellent food. Best Korean barbecue AND bento boxes! They dont deliver or participate in any of the delivery services. They dont even have a real website! Its very tiny and is usually packed at lunch and dinner, with folks waiting for tables. We have eaten in the restaurant - no air conditioning! And we have gotten to-go. Always excellent!
Surprisingly really good !!! for a place named as vaguely as “asia cuisine,” we were blown away at how good the food was. i ordered the budaejjigae and my partner ordered a roll (sunny hill, i think) and the hot and sour soup. everything was really good. i was surprised at the quality and flavor of the korean stew. also, the servers were extremely kind — we left our umbrella behind, and someone who i think was the owner(?) ran out after us for almost a whole block to return it to us. impeccable service :-) so glad to have found a new go-to asian restaurant!!
Overall a really good experience. Kind wait staff, short wait time. My wife ordered a bibimbap, and was slightly surprised that we had to pay $1 for the upgrade to the hot stone bowl (isn’t that the standard serving form for this Korean dish?). My wife said the flavor was pretty bland, and could have used salt or kimchi or some other fermented/salted flavor. I ordered a MapoTofu (pork) and it was great. Although not authentic to a Chinese traditional style, we loved the flavor of this one nonetheless. Sweet, spicy, and a hearty portion of meat mixed with (medium?) firm tofu cubes, and hints of ginger and bamboo minced into the sauce base. The price was reasonable and we would definitely come back to try more dishes in the future.
Omg the food here is excellent! I never had Korean food before it was sooooo good! I am definitely going back!Only thing that peeved me was the waitress demanded 15% at the time she placed the check on the table. We where already to tip more because it was so good, but we where put off on the idea that they actually demanded it. I personally would have tipped 25%-30% as it was that good, but I just feel its rude to demand a tip for anything, I mean its a restaurant, unless you live under a rock you know you normally tip.
Used to be one of our favorites but recently went for the sesame chicken which was burnt to a crisp. It consisted of barely any chicken and was basically deep fried batter, burnt to the point of being inedible, covered in sauce. I couldn’t believe it. When I complained the waiter just shrugged. Must’ve changed owners or chefs. Shame!
A relatively weak Asian restaurant. The shumai and gyoza were definitely the frozen variety from a grocery store. The gyoza didnt even come with a dipping sauce. The champpong was also not particularly tasty, with the broth being pretty bland. Basically microwave quality at restaurant prices.
My wife and I ate here a day ago. We ordered noodles with beef and black bean sauce and what was supposedly a sushi and sashimi special. There was almost no beef in the noodle dish at all. Worse, the special was bits of raw fish over iceberg lettuce with a side of rice. I started eating it and stopped halfway through, realizing the “special” was clearly an attempt to get rid of old, unused fish. Too late apparently! Here we are a day later, with food poisoning.
I’m a sushi fanatic. I’ve eaten sushi in ten cities, and in every restaurant in Ithaca. This is the best place you are going to find. They have a large Korean menu as well. The service is excellent, the food is perfect, and the prices are reasonable. Recommend the kimchi jei yook bokum off the Korean menu, and the the Spicy sashimi salad and any of the deep fried rolls off the Japanese side.
I worked there and before I worked there I was regular customer there. While I was employed there, I have noticed some problems with a lot of people with food allergy. If you are one of those person, you have to tell waiters/waitresses regardless of whether allergen is listed on the food description or not. Owner is NOT American and not fluent in English. He sometimes miss out and miss label the ingredients. But waiters/waitresses are fluent enough in English to know the correct ingredients.
I cant believe that I avoided this place for half a year due to the sketchy-sounding name. Its now one of my favorite Asian restaurants in Ithaca, and the homemade noodles are some of the best I have ever had. Their take-out is just as good, and seems to usually be ready in less than 10 min after it is called in.(My only minor gripe is that they need to install a curtain near the door -- every time someone opens it in the winter a blast of cold air comes in.)Update: today my fiancee discovered that the jja jang myun is so damn good it sets off the explosive detectors at the airport. Make sure to finish leftovers before going through security.

2022-02-12My first experience with sushi in Ithaca and not disappointed! The server was kind and helpful. The environment was busy yet still enough room for personal space between tables. Highly recommend the Aurora roll!

2022-03-06Asia Cuisine has pretty good food (compared to other options in the area) especially their Korean and Korean Chinese dishes. What was truly exceptional last time we went was the service by the two guys working in the front. It was a Monday night and the place was very busy, but they were both very helpful and friendly in a genuine manner, and service was fast. In fact, they were very gracious about a wrong dish I ordered by mistake, and replaced it even though it was my fault.Go support this locally owned small business!

2022-02-28Every time I walk past this place, it is always packed, and for good reason! Its so good! It was super fast, super delicious, and the service was incredible! It was cold that night and since it was packed, we started out sitting near the door. The server ended up offering us another table once one opened up, which was really considerate! I will definitely be coming back!

2022-06-07Have loved Asia Cuisine for years, but havent dined in much lately. So glad we did! The Generals chicken was crispy and spicy. The rolls were fresh, made to order, and absolutely delicious. Our server was so friendly, too! It is a small space for dining in, just a heads up. There is a single unisex bathroom. Credit cards accepted.

2021-09-05Prices were really good: smoked salmon roll, salmon avocado roll, negi hamachi roll each were 4.95. I don’t recommend the miso soup because was $2 but had nothing in it (no tofu or nori). The spicy shrimp roll for 8.95 was SO GOOD and the new york roll was 5.95 but the apple added nothing to the flavor of the roll so it’s not really worth getting. Overall pretty decent sushi place in Ithaca and I would come back because the prices and service are good.

2022-06-24Popular and very busy eatery that serves Asian cuisine, very good and extensive menu but at a higher end for students. If you have money to burn, its easy on your wallet. Although tight and small space but can accommodate a party of 6 to 10 when not too busy, located in Utica commons, college town within Cornell university in NY. Parking garages available at a affordable rates.

2021-08-18We enjoy small venues and this corner Korean bistro was not disappointing. I havent had Bulgogi in years. The special seasoning, slivers of celery, perfectly cooked bite sized slices of beef, and sticky white rice was a revived culinary memory.

2022-03-10Simply the best. Everything they make is delicious. I didn’t like miso soup until I had it at Asia Cuisine. The service is great and the prices are reasonable. I’ve never had a bad experience, and I go regularly.

2020-02-23First walking into Asia Cuisine I noticed that it was small and cozy. The waitress was very kind and attentive to our party. I ordered C4 for my main entree and thought it was delicious. Also, the spicy rice cakes were a good appetizer to start out with. The food tasted authentic and I would for sure come back.
