I lost my toy poodles Louie very suddenly after 13 joyous years. I did not think I could love again. Seriously if you have lost a pet you know the feeling. Covid made it impossible to meet cats in person and every single time I applied for one at any shelter, I was told a rescue was taking that cat. I had given up hope but then I spoke with Kim and the other counselors at ASPCA. They are busy but made time. One cat I wanted fell through, a timing issue and then I found my Tater, then Tatum. I fell in love at first sight. He looked like he might be a cat that needed time. Kim spoke with me, offered support resources and just took the time to get me ready. I met Tater and knew immediately he was for me. The counselor Michelle went over everything and made me incredibly comfortable. I really can’t praise this organization enough. They love the animals and do the best they can to find them good homes. I don’t think my story is unusual. I highly recommend. Covid makes things a little challenging be patient and kind because everyone is working hard for the animals.

Amazing, where do I start the hospitality in this facility was outstanding. The vets were very kind and informed me about my cat in a very optimistic and joyful way. They accommodate very well and care about pets. I recommend this place to all!
Great clean up to date facility for adopting cats and dogs. I got my tabby kitten from here, and the process was very easy, with great staff and nice location.
This is my sweet 8 year old calico named Mabel, who I adopted from ASPCA. I had a great experience adopting from ASPCA, the staff where extremely kind and helpful. After visiting about 4 other animal shelters, Mabel was the first cat I saw when I got there and I knew I wanted to adopt her immediately. She has some medical issues and the staff there were very knowledgeable and were able to give me all information I would need to know about taking care of her special needs. I also met with a vet who made sure I understood her limitations.
I applied for adoption of a dog, and although the dog I was interested in was adopted, they took the time to find exactly the right animal for my home. They made sure what level of comfort I had with different types of dogs and I spoke to several different teams to ensure I was fully aware of the animal I was adopting. They took the time to have me speak to behavioral specialists and the vet being careful to answer every question we had. I will add pictures of Vanilla Bean as soon as she arrives later this week.This is a six month update...This adoption center truly cares for the animals they adopt out. I in retrospect greatly appreciate the effort placed in matching the animals with their proper forever homes. The ASPCA followed up several times and wanted additional pictures of these animals which they all formed close bonds with while they awaited adoption. We renamed Vanilla Bean to Bibi and she has seamlessly integrated herself into her new home. We chose to rescue a second dog, Chiquita. So now Bibi has a sister and they are inseparable. Cant thank the ASPCA enough and cant speak higher on behalf of their staff and care which they show their animals. I have posted a few more pics of Bibi with her new sister Chiquita.

The staff at the kitten nursery is absolutely the best! I foster kittens for the ASPCA, and they are organized, run on time, are ready to answer any questions, and care so deeply about every single kitten that comes through the nursery. I can’t recommend the ASPCA highly enough! 😸
We were trying to add a new addition to our family that had four paws. We tried our luck at ACC and were left frustrated and heartbroken two days in a row. We walked into ASPCA with no expectations. We were blown away at how friendly and loving they were. They welcomed us in and we were seen quickly. We filled out a survey to help match us with the perfect kitten for our family. We quickly fell in love with Green bean, now known as Pepper Corn. They gave us food, litter, a personalized collar, and even had a starter set for sale at a great price there as well. They were so helpful! They answered all our questions and before you know it we were home with our newest family addition. Thank you for your great service ❤️
This place is the best they took care of my Jill she was sick and I didnt have money it was free they really know how to take care of you the only thing you cant do is drink or eat on-premises even though they have a soda machine and a vending machine but if you ever I need their help they are there for the public I would recommend this even to my worst enemy. even though it was free I gave them a money donation theyre really saved my dog Jill. They were kind and passionate
Theres NO WAY TO CONTACT ASPCA HOSPITAL to schedule an appointment over the phone ! On Monday July 30 2018 I called at 02:15 p.m. to schedule hospital appointment for my cat & it took me around 45 minutes to get through... somehow... I had to keep calling the same phone number about 8 times... over & over again in hope that someone will answer it... ? I had to wait patiently 30 minutes on the phone line... until someone did... actually answered it... to my surprise... (I almost gave up)... and politely did explained me that some days they are very busy and therfore asking public to be patient & just wait on the phone line until someone will find a moment to answer it...At least I was able to schedule an appointment at the end of a week, its better than nothing.I know that theyre always very busy, however theres got to be a better & friendlier system for people to be able to contact ASPCA Hospital to schedule an appointment.ASPCA Please DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT !! We need your help & we need to be able to contact YOU sooner than in one hour !Update, Starting from October 1 2019 MUST CALL ASPCA to schedule appointment for euthanasia !!! They DONT accept anymore for euthanasia WITHOUT scheduled appointment over the phone !!!P.S. Euthanasia is FREE at the ASPCA !!!
I’m so happy with aspca ! I got my lovely Cherokee in 3 h , comparing to other places. We’ve been looking for our home pet companion in 3 months , and always been stuck with some paper work issues, even though we are average couple with good income , credit history , owners of apartment , no criminal records and so on. ASPCA made our experience smooth. Even gave a trial food for week and month of insurance. Having a pet from a rescue shelter is always a challenge, but we made it. You need to be patient, strategical, pet will not going to love you right away. They are stressed , wiu their past knowledge and memory, they don’t trust so easily. After 4 months of dedicated work ( talking , knowing, training, loving) she allowed us to scratch her belly , which is sign of trust, and comes to sit with us , and stop growling . I’m so happy with her, she is like a flower that develops and blooms, like every shelter pet , it needs a time an work. First months when I took her in my arms she was growing ,escaping , now she’s purring. Thank you so much ASPCA team , to give us such opportunity. i have recommended you to all of my friends
Given limited resources and so many animals to find homes for, or re-home, while under pandemic precautions - Im impressed at the level of service. Adopted a young cat and brought her home spayed, microchipped, current with vaccinations, all documents provided, a coupon for a complimentary vet visit, and given quality food that lasted a month. Every case is different, I know, but even if we got just half the services we received, Id be writing a five star review. Incredible service to the community.
In 2006 I adopted a 6 mo. old Lab mix named Honey - who was renamed Caddy by me. I remember the staff being so lovely and they made the adoption process easy. Caddy was the light of my life for FOURTEEN incredible years!! Sadly, she passed August 23rd, and we are all heartbroken. I wanted to say Thank You for bringing such an amazing friend into my - and my familys - life, xoxo
I just got my perfect, beautiful kitten yesterday! The process was quick and easy, and everyone was so nice and informative. Thank you ASPCA, for helping me find my dream kitten! Shes adjusting wonderfully, no doubt from the wonderful care and love they give all of the animals beforehand. Its an amazing place! This is Yohji. In the shelter he was better known as Civic but my wife and I decided to rename this guy. He is the most positive, nice, smart and friendly cat I ever had. He knew what the litter box looks like from day 1, never caused any trouble, he made our family 100 times happier!

Pet lovers, gr8t pet care. The staff is wonderful, professionals. Godsend, Dr.Jacobs, Dr.Shappard. My first visit, 1st.litter mom got sick after she gave birth, no hospital would take her, I had noooo monies, went to N.Y. ASPCA, was a road trip for Dora &I on the path 🤗 As it was for April, this day was the baddest snow storm, Ubered right thru it, early!!! With that last only $100, I offered up on that quest2save April. Started off the day b4 in NJ, smh, 2no avail 😠April had a rectum prolapse, would no one touch her but the ASPCA. It began with some type of rare worm infection. I believe I gave her too much ova the counter worm clear med. she strained her rectum out. She was on her death bed, ASPCA had me sign euthanize papers &I still begged them to save her life, voila she is doing fine. Thanx a bunch ASPCA, Im very much obliged....
My lilly Adopted her from the adoption centre 96th street back in 2008 I still have her today love 💘 my furry baby i want to Adopt a puppy from at the adoption centre so please reach back out to me if possible Lily a grew up with a pitbull she raised a pit bull and he just recently passed so I would love for her to have another companion❤❤
We adopted Page (now Madoka Page) yesterday and we are in love with her. She is a lady through and through. Amber was super helpful and appreciate everything she and all those at the ASPCA do.
This was the most wonderful pet adoption experience ever. Someone personally takes you back and guides you in holding and picking a kitten. The kittens are in very clean cages (I cant even call it that because they are pretty big and clean and nice). They are all so kind and wonderful, and they give you some food to take home, some toys from their cage, and a vet voucher. They give you a hugeeeee packet with all the information you could ever need on your new pet and a number to call a behavior specialist if you are nervous about introducing two pets. My cat, Charlie, is the best cat I have ever had. I will forever come back to this place to adopt my next pet.

I took a puppy from this heartless woman who was neglecting him so bad. I kept him over night to bathe him and feed him, but I couldn’t keep him. So, I turned him over to ASPCA. They were really nice.

They are very friendly, and have really decent prices for adopting cats/kittens. I really love their approach in making sure that all animals find good homes, and really love the fact that older animals are discounted to make sure that they are loved too. I actually adopted a 10 year old cat going on two years ago from them, and I really love and appreciate her. Senior Animals need love too! Thanks!

This place is God sent. I live in Queens and had to bring my bulldog in the back seat of my car with a catheter from another vet. I chose the ASPCA because Mac needed surgery that I just couldnt afford as I am disabled. They not only took us in after hours (thanks to the nurses) which is not in thier policy to do so after 4pm, but they also payed for the majority of the surgery ($1100) I came out of pocket about $200. Dr Kline was amazing with him and performed a spectacular successful bladder surgery. They are precise on care instructions. I wish I knew the names of the nurses that helped us outside when we arrived, if they see this post I say thank you for your kindness, generosity, and understanding. We love you , our doggy angels :)
We walked in on adopt a cat day in the fall late in the day. The place is full of animal lover volunteers no one gave us a hard time so close to closing. There were not too many cats left so they offered us the same deal for a whole month. We got a wonderful kitten named Lucio. Xoxoxo
After having adopted two cats five years ago in ASPCA I will never, ever, come back to this place. They euthanized a young and healthy dog I wanted to adopt, for VERY dubious reasons. I am in shock. I have had dogs my entire life and I know what I am speaking about. Cruelty. Animal Care Center is much more ethic if you compare. They would have never killed this dog.
Wonderful caring professional people. Took great care of my blue nose pit after he was attacked by a man welding a machete. He went threw 5 surgeries with some of the best doctors New York has to offer. Then Loki went threw 3 weeks rehabilitation with them. The ASPCA team video called us and let us know what was happening step by step... Amazing job amazing people....

My pet was treated with so much care years ago & was also given 2 operations that would have cost me a fortune had I not qualified for their free operation plan. I did raise $400 via GO FUND ME & donated it all to them. The doctors & staff were the most loving staff I had come across in a ASPCA center.

I really love the ASPCA they are a wonderful organization. I have adopted from them years ago with a beautiful Kitty named JJ who I lost last month and they were very helpful in making arrangements to cremate him and they just took care of everything. I am happy to say that I came back and adopted 2 more kitties from the ASPCA and they have just been wonderful. They made the adoption so understanding and easy and with care Ive highly recommend you go to the ASPCA to adopt a pet.

They were extremely compassionate considering my cats situation and my own financial situation. Im happy to report that Tribble was taken care of in a fashion that I wouldnt have dreamed of and shes still going strong 3 years after her ordeal. Not to long ago I took my Cat Orion to a Hospital because he was feeling sick and didn’t want to eat vomited blood and all that. They did an X ray and gave him a shot for the vomiting after that they did some other thing. In total i paid $678 dollars which didn’t even help at all because the next morning he was still sick . My beautiful amazing Girlfriend helped me get an appointment at ASPCA Hospital the very next day and I went without any money because the day before I had wasted all I had on the wack hospital. The same thing they did on the hospital I took him which costed 678 costed only 50 here plus on top of that he stood in the hospital to be monitor and checked the next day if needed a surgery or not and if he did they were going to cover it. I would have wasted a lot of money that I didn’t have probably would have been in debt but these people this workers this whole ASPCA they do Amazing May God Bless them ! And abundance of blessing come their way . Sorry if I didn’t make sense I’m just happy my cat was in good hands ❤️. When I go I’ll go hug everyone and thank them so much …
ASPCA, at 92 St, is the best place to adopt your next baby. The place is clean, the staff is super friendly, and the manage adoptions in the shortest period of any adoption places. I registered with four agencies which meant very lengthy questionnaire. I received programmed responses from each one; very cold and impersonal process. The A responded to my online application the same day. I had a choice of doing virtual or in person interviews. I would highly recommend going the in person route. Anyway, I went in for cat that I found in the data base. I ended up being adopted by two other cats and an hour I added two members to my family.

I am forever grateful for amazing people who work here unfortunately my dog was put to sleep but they put my husband and I at ease that we were doing right thing. I even got a beautiful well written card with my dog paw on it made me cry I forever will treasure. Due to pandemic I wasnt able to pay for dog ashes and so one person donate to my dog be send to me with ashes .
I did not actually get to visit the ASPCA, but they are consistent with their updates and notifications! I recieved several emails about their pets, and other news . They make you feel special by including you in their progress. I cant wait to find my cuddle baby with them or whomever 💞

Highly recommend this adoption center to anyone looking for the first pet in their life. I adopted a cat from them recently, very professional and compassionate team that helps you out and follow up even after I took her home. Unfortunately she passed away because of pre-existing conditions but I think she was showered with love and care by the volunteers and foster parents at the shelter throughout. Thank you so much.
This goes to all of aspca in general, I called the posion hotline because my dog was sick and instead of caring about the pet your more worried about money. 75$!!!!! Just to know if I should take my dog to the vet!!! Horrible.

Two times in my life i have been here and both times HORRIFIC TRAUMATIZING experiences that i wish no one else will ever have to endure. They were cold and in each time seemed soley focused on making me euthanize. Even though the situation in my opinion was not in need of that. I dont know what they use to euthanize when you decide to but it is NOT AND DOES NOT LOOK PAINLESS OR PEACEFUL. My poor cat did not just drift off into sleep but rather was gasping and choking for air 😢 I have never witnessed or heard of anyone who has had this experience outside of ASPCA. Unfortunately it was during covid and i could not afford an actual vet as i had no income from loss of work.I regret taking my animals there and neber again.

The Adoption Center is wonderfully caring and loyal to their pets. I adopted twice from them and the dear kitties were the joy of my life. I understand why people give to the ASPCA as they are such a great place!
We adopted our new baby a few months ago from the ASPCA and couldnt be happier. They responded within a couple days of our inquiry, even during a pandemic, we had meaningful conversations and Zoom calls over the next few days. Our kitty came home with food and a bed along with a bill of good health and plenty of follow-up calls and care. I would recommend the NYC ASPCA to any responsible person/family looking for a companion animal. The one thing Id suggest would be to send a confirmation email when an application is submitted but otherwise it was a perfect experience even in a difficult time for our city and the world over. We are very grateful.
I applied to adopt a dog, then they sent me an email that they had decided to go with another adopter. This wasnt true because the dog was still on the website waiting to be adopted. It wasnt meant to be. I ended up getting a hunk of a boy at Bideawee, 2 days after applying.
It doesnt look like a ASPCA office, more corporate, but warmer and welcoming. Adopted my new purr baby, Charlotte (was Cody). Had a lot of assistance from start to finish as well as follow up calls. Yes, calls. They want to checkup and see how me and my purr baby was doing. Shes still acclimating to having a big sister and new human slave (if youre a cat owner you understand the reference). Took a week from start to finish. She comes vaccinated, nails clipped, instruction binder, Advantage flea/tick ointment and CHIPPED!!!!! Only had to pay for a hard carrier, $35. 💖

Went into this location on Tuesday July 5th. My dog was profusely bleeding from his paw after a bad clipping incident. AMANDA at the front desk used her own judgement as a front desk clerk to decide no one would be available to look at our husky since it is appointment only. When I asked her to double check with her superiors because I was flabbergasted they would send away a BLEEDING puppy. She had us aimlessly wait at the desk for about 2 minutes while she “checked” with someone if they would be able to see him. After gaslighting us for 2 minutes she then restates that they would not be able to see us and we can go to 62nd. We then had to put or BLEEDING dog back in the car and drive 30+ blocks just for us to receive some silver nitrate and be sent on our way. Which COULD HAVE SIMPLY BEEN DONE AT THIS LOCATION if someone who truly cares about animals worked there and would have made the proper judgement call to just look at our puppy. With all the recent headlines of the aspca in the news, I can see why they are falling by the wayside.
Very professional love my dog Teri I adopted him from the 92nd street ASPCA.... someone brought him in with a broken leg. They fixed his leg with a pin plate and screw so amazing !!!
From where I live to where I have to go as far so I have to take about three trains when you get there is friendly and nice and they treat you very nice and they have so many animals that you want to take all of them I dropped the one and he was very handsome and I named him Christian he is very adorable and they were very good with you and patient so definitely I will going to drop another animal

The aspca is the best place! Within less than a week I was able to find my dream kitty sequoia! They said she was very shy and would take a while to get adjusted but it was pretty fast for her. She cuddles with us and every thing and she is just a happy lil kitty and I thank the aspca for everything. :) they were nice professional and patient and I trust them 100%!

They were so awesome. Went to pick up my kitten whose name was Oscar but we changed it to rick; they engraved his tag with his new name as well as gave me extra scratcher post for my cat i already had at home. Everyone i spoke to was super kind and sweet. If i get anther animal i surely will be getting it from them.
They are kind and very helpful. It looks to me that they truly care. I brought in a cat I found in the street that was very friendly but no one wanted him because his neck was cracked. They took him in checked him out,kept him and put him up for adoption. They also kept me posted. I held on to him for 7 weeks from the day I rescued him. That maid me very happy. I have 7 cats of my own so I couldnt keep him. I understand that he was adopted. 👍👍👍❤
They dont have any puppies and you cant go in person to get any services done. And they want a 150 dollar adoption fee. The process takes too long.
They dont let you see any animal to adopt when twice while out seeing any animal even though they was showing that website wasnt working. I gave her my phone number to get oppitment to see animal never get any call. They are opean to jail animal to get money off them from public support

I adopted a cat almost two years ago. It was listed as a spayed female and a neutered male 5 to 6 years of age. It was also listed as healthy with a cold and felv/fiv negative. When I received the intact male, he was 7 lbs and visibly underweight. I nursed him back to health and got him to almost 11 lbs, a healthy weight for him. Also had him neutered and his teeth addressed as he stopped eating. Keeping weight on him has been a challenge and this last run, we were referred to a specialist that suggested testing him for felv/fiv, as the mouth issues could be related. He has now tested positive for FIV. Mind you I brought him into a home with two perfectly healthy cats. I know FIV has likely not effected my other two, but what if it had been FELV. Which is highly contagious. I would have three sick cats on my hands due to your negligence. I understand you wanting to save the cats and find them homes, but why risk spreading infections to healthy cats with your lies and incompetence?

We came in close to closing but everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. There werent a lot of dogs available at the time, but the woman took her time to give us a tour of the facility and providing the personality of the dogs available and what they knew of their history. The facility was very clean and you can tell the staff really cares about the animals.
DONT SUPPORT AN ORGANZATION LIKE ASPCA!!! They lure donators by putting those guilt tripping ads- they say they are helping animals find a better life- yet how come CEO makes around 800K?? Truly capitalism is at its finest. Disgusting.
Awesome as always...Kind of sad they reduced some of their pet medical services. Aside from that, its an amazing place. Adopted Charles a super sweet pitbull mix. Great service, lovely helpful staff. Staff is very caring for the animals and go above and beyond to ensure animals are matched well with a new family. I only adopt from ASPCA and have never ever regretted it.
I had an amazing experience here. The staff was tremendously helpful and was happy to answer all of my questions. I ended up adopting a dog and the process was great. It went smoothly. The place is very clean and organized which is great. Overall this place is amazing. You can tell the staffs care about their job and helping others.
This should be bit more Nicer to people that want to adopt pets that need home they start off at 125 end up at 375 if they sick .but i love all animals so i did

I cant understand why its so hard to adopt a dog. I understand the need to vet prospective owners. But the rigmarole you have to go through and then be charged hundreds of dollars to give a pet a new home. Is plain crazy. We are now looking to buy from a dog breeder. Something the shelters want us to stop doing. So why make it so hard? Anyone weve asked where they got their dogs from. All said they gave up trying pet rescue and bought their dogs privately. Animal rescue needs to reevaluate their adoption process.
My experience here was great. I adopted a kitten and am very pleased with him. The facility was clean and the animals were well taken care of. The staff were all nice and helpful. Definitely would adopt here again.
ON 9/20/21 I HAD TO PUT DOWN MY 12 YEAR OLD GOLEN LOLA. IT WAS ONE OF THE HADEST THINGS I HAD TO DO :( BUT IT WAS THE BEST FOR HER. ASPCA are absolutely the best. Everyone were friendly and caring with such professionalism. I was blessed with such beautiful dogs and cats.. A persian mix cat...poodle..Lab ...and a Lhaso Apso...They all lived long beautiful lives...I love and miss them all so much..I just had to put my Lhaso Apso to sleep the Tuesday before Xmas..I am so ready to adopt another puppy ☺️👍
My puppy was diagnosed with parvovirus they sis an amazing job with caring for my pup Callie she was hospitalized for 3 days and came home better then when I first got her she is energetic happy and eating and using the bathroom regularly I really appreciate what you guys did you saved my puppies life and for that I will forever be great full thanks again and god bless you guys.
Very clean, caring and professional adoption center. We adopted our first kitty and they have provided ongoing support. Kitten was so well trained! We had not problems with him adapting to our family.

Just adopted a pair of cats from this location and the staff was very helpful. They made recommendations to me based on my living situation and I went home with two new friends. It was a pleasant experience and the adoption fee was reasonable as well.What I liked most is that they insist on bonded pairs being adopted together and not separate. I would recommend coming here.
I’ve adopted a dog here from Aspca named Joshua that’s now 5 years old and I love him dearly , my point is these hard loving workers from Aspca understand what you want in a pet and trust me they are good at it very professional , I love Aspca they are 10 stars for sure , they help you find the right one and they have a good heart , I would recommend them to anyone in NYC GOOD JOB ASPCA ❤️❤️
Wonderful place to adopt a pet!The ASPCA adoption center is excellent. First, its sparkling clean, and the cages where the pets (in my case, cats) are kept are well maintained. I went there 3 times before I made a decision -- there were so many kitties that I was overwhelmed with choice. I finally chose a 1-year old cat (kitten?) who was actually in the main floor enclosed area with many cats and no cages. The staff takes a detailed history of the prospective owner to make sure the pet is in good hands, and they have a fairly detailed report on the adopted pet, including history of shots and behavioral issues (if any). The follow-up by email was very welcome, and in fact, I ended up speaking with someone a month later to discuss some behavioral issues and how to deal with them. My recommendation is to go on a weekday, since it is generally quieter and you dont have to wait long for a volunteer to take you to where the cats (or dogs) are. All in all, the ASPCA does a great job and you will know a great deal about the pet you decide to adopt.
ADOPT YOUR KITTEN FROM HERE!! After weeks of running around to find a kitten that looked pretty from online rescues, I was thoroughly disappointed. I turned to the ASPCA and found my sweet and beautiful kitten. They make you fill out a pre-adoption form that isnt invasive like other rescues questions are. Its mostly asks what youd like for in a pet. My main concern was that Id adopt a kitten that was skittish, hissed and clawed a lot. But the kittens here are SO WELL BEHAVED. She helped me choose which one would be better suited for me as a first time cat owner. They work with you personally which is what I love. Theyre so sterile and it doesnt have a bad smell at all.They talked to me about what to do/what not to do. Also provided so much FREE STUFF. They gave me a collar, days worth of dry food + wet food and a toy. Im forever thankful for them. Dont forget to bring a letter (any letter) that confirms your address. The adoption fee is $125 and if you get another one, ITS FREE! Seriously cannot praise this place enough.
Ive been here several times. And I always appreciate the care they give the animals, as well as the understanding they have for the adopters as well. They care that there is a good match that the skill level to care for the pet is there. And everyone is always so nice. Big thanks for the pets that Ive gotten from them. Always a great match and filled our home with love.
OK. They need better people to tell you more about their animals. Adopted a very feral cat. Not much information was given. I would return him but hes also so loving. I had to break him in. They dont have much small dogs thats what we went in for. The pricing for their animals should be a bit lower. Considering they dont give that much information on them. But it was a very clean facility. Process was fast.

We had the best experience! We adopted a healthy, loving cat. We even had a meeting with a behavioral specialist before we brought him home - the specialists advice made way for a very smooth transition. I cannot say enough nice things about the ASPCA. Highly recommended!
This place in the veterinary hospital area is morally unethical. Shame on them I brought my pet in for s small wound and they wanted a 1000 dollars to fix it. I spoke with their regular vets in both Virginia and Florida and they said for one bight wound it should be no more then 250. The vet was rude and obnoxious I was upset at the price and when I initially took my dog in they said no problem for clipping their nails. The doctor explained she was on my side but they may not have time to clip their nails. After telling me three times about how she was a licensed vet and couldnt guarantee my pets health I said please dont tell me that again, I heard you and I know. Only go here if you are seriously wealthy and want to put your dog in for a surgery they dont need, and cost you cant afford, because after all they are on your side, just like used car salesmen and crooked attorneys all on your side while taking your hard earned money. As a side note when I checked out I had already paid the whopping $85.00 exam fee, but the receptionist told me the bill with the exam fee. I said a little upset you already charged me for that, which she said dont talk to me like that. She had to make me wait and ask her manager. I found the receipt and hoped the less the competent and unorganized rude staff didnt over charge me. By the way Im going to write to the better business bureau and if you have to go here get. A second opinion get it in writing and dont believed their sales staff parading as vets. I am disgusted and two days before Christmas.
I had no idea when adopting a kitten from ASPCA that they wouldn’t advise me properly on how to best ensure socialization, and when we returned today with him because of behavioral issues their recommendation was to kill him or pay $400/session for a behavioral veterinary specialist.PLEASE be careful when adopting from the ASPCA in our experience it seems that they don’t know what they are doing by allowing single kittens to be adopted out before they are properly socialized. The ones who pay most dearly are the innocent kitties.
High quality pet adoption center on the upper east side. I adopted two healthy kittens from here the same day I went in. When you go in, you fill out a form about what type of pet youre looking for. Then after fifteen minutes or so, an adoption counselor asks more questions to find pets that better suit what youre looking for. Then they take you to different rooms that have the kind of pet youre looking for. The only thing was, when I did tell them which cats I wanted it took a long time to actually get them, like over an hour and a half To be fair, there were a lot of people waiting there but it seemed very long. Overall though, great experience and the best place to adopt a pet.
They are very caring. They prioritize visit based on the seriousness of your pet injury. I had my dog hip surgery. Everywhere else were telling me it will cost me $3500, ASPCA charged me only $1100 which included neutering and some of tooth removal. My baby is doing great after his FHO surgery.
They just dont help you with anything and puppies cost too much who wants to buy puppies if they want to be rescued really whos going to rescue and have to pay $400. They dont respond to emails when you write to them. cuz my group went to donate money and they never contact you but they cost so much for puppies and Dogs.
Got our dog there and hes a wonderful addition to our household. They did a nice job helping us through the process and being honest about his health and behavioral quirks. Upon adoption, the dog came with some food and all the needed tags to give us a successful start.
I love this place the doctor was so nice to my corgis Phoebe and Oakley. they were loved and taking care of. If I can give them beyond unlimited stars I would!! Doctor Olivia was a doll!! She is such a doctor doctor!! I do recommend this place if you want good service.
Please be aware of any conversation you have with aspca STAFF. The staff at ASPCA wrote false information that was connected to my number awhile back. That my cat jumped out a window!“Which is totally false. I never owned an animal. I spoke to a very unprofessional manger Matt Wildman who called my phone three times before even speaking or announcing himself. I expressed how taken back I was that a staff wrote false information connected to my number. He dismissed what I was saying. I adopted two cats from this center, and was told that both were healthy and vetted. Well, one of them had to be treated for a respiratory infection, and the other died shorty after due to a medical problem that they either didnt care to check for or werent competent enough to see. Ive spent more than $5000 on these two cats and my heart is broken over the loss. And when contacted to ask what could be done about this whole mess, they blew me off and said it wasnt their problem. Will never go here again or recommend it to anyone.
They treat you and your new pet like you should be treated. I remember when I first brought home my baby boy Dreamer they set me up with everything I needed for him all the information of his past everything I need to do for his future yes he can be a pain in my butt sometimes because he wants to play when I get home from work but I love him so very much and I have ASPCA to thank for that.

This place is awesome! We have adopted two cats here. Our first cat was adopted over two years ago and he was super affectionate. Unfortunately, he was ill, which we were told. But we wanted to adopt him anyways. So, we went back today after a long grieving process and adopted our second cat. Sallie has always helped us, she’s very nice! The place is clean and they even give you starting food/treats when you adopt.
I took my puppy yesterday because he kept throwing up, the front desk was really nice and helpful. I was denied the credit card but they helped me with financial and at the end I just paid the $85 for the exam. Really nice people and the doctor said to me dont ever think that you need to give your puppy up for adoption because you cant afford treatment, We are here to help That made me cry because I dont know what was wrong with my dog.
The staffs were very nice to me. I wanted to adopt a puppy but unfortunately they didnt have. Its honestly understandable because they dont get to choose what arrive. But I do wish I could of adopted all the dogs. They were so nice!
My family and I adopted a kitten back in October, and now in July, she is 11 months and even more beautiful. We have had no health issues and she has been so sweet even from the start( we might even adopt another!!)
If I could give Zero stars, I would. I had a cat who was very sick here. He wasn’t eating, or drinking. He had diarrhea, and his stomach was very bloated. He couldn’t even barely walk, or jump anymore. I started to have a bad feeling that he was dying. I tried calling this place, and the lady on the phone asked where I’m from. I told her that I’m from the Bronx & my address. Then she comes out and says that “ I do not qualify to bring my cat in”. I asked her why I don’t qualify? And she changed the conversation right away. As furious as I was with that statement I hung up. The same day right after that phone call my cat collapsed on the floor, & did diarrhea...ON THE FLOOR! The poor thing couldn’t even make it to the litter box. Couple minutes later, while I’m panicking trying to call people for help he laid flat on the floor with his mouth open. As if he was struggling to breathe...then later on he passed away. The fact that I tried to call for help to an organization that supposedly cries and begs for people to give animals a home, and they couldn’t help me all becuz I was coming from the Bronx is just disgusting. I’m absolutely furious with this organization. I would advise people to not bother coming here. They are unorganized, and they racially profile people. The fact that I wrote this review a couple days ago & it some how got deleted from here is absolutely distasteful.
For a 1st timer this was a terrifying yet amazing experience . The staff are so funny and easy going which is great cause you can be taken over by fear from time to time from being so high up. The tips are absolutely safe and the views are absolutely stunning. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for an adventure.
The facility and staff are amazing. The staff really want to help animals that are in need. When you are ready to adopt they do a short interview to match you up with the right pet. I adopted a cat and the whole process was seamless. The doctor and staff answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns. I wish i could help more of the animals. I would recommend anyone who wants to rescue a pet to come here.

I had brought my cat to the aspca on Thursday July 30 after I had tried another veterinarian on 2nd Ave because it basically came down to a money issue an what you could afford so being im low income they recommend I bring my baby here to the ASPCA. When I called they were so pleasant and caring , when I got there they immediately took her to the back I answered some questions and told the receptionists what was the issue , the Dr that was caring for Pawz was so nice and compassionate she knew how upset I was because my baby was pretty sick after they had her in the back then the Dr.said they would like to keep her over night to do blood work, urinaligys and observation not once did they ask what I could afford and then the Dr. Told me everything would be free because of the covid pandemic, I was totally in Shock a complete blessing, it was only right that I donate, needles to say my beloved Pawz did not make it but I am so grateful for everyone that took care of my baby Pawz they are truly a blessing.
I had a great experience adopting a kitten! The volunteer let me spend 2+ hours looking at every single cat. Once I chose the cat, I was able to talk to a behaviorist to make sure it was the right cat for me. Then even though they were backed up and I almost couldnt process the adoption that night, they ended up squeezing me in, which I really appreciated. They provided a free collar and identification tag and I was able to buy very cheap treats and toys and they gave me free samples of the food he was on. My cat is adorable and sweet and I have called back to ask questions and the staff has been so knowledgable. Definitely recommend!
They saved my cats life. No other clinic nearby couldve possibly pulled of the miracle, but the staff here made sure they did everything in their power to. Environment is very relaxing, and the staff are very professional and friendly. May they continue to serve the animal community for as many years to come!
Hi this review is a bit late...a lot late actually... I brought my kitten here nearly 2 years ago. (Kittens go for 125$ and the price includes spayed/neutering, and shots) the staff were super kind!! Super friendly! Its very clean. Theres handsanitizer around the place they had me put on before I played with the cats. And there are volunteers playing with the cats or walking the dogs. I brought my kitten home and soon she had gotten an eye infection, so she was taken to the vet free of charge, because it was within a certain time frame. I know people dislike this shelter for being a kill shelter, but unfortunately thats the reality of a lot of shelters in the U.S. Nevertheless, the vet was super friendly and gave us oitment for her eye. It really helped! So overall, great staff, great vets, and very clean and spacious

I ask for an active cat that would interact with my grandchildrenUnfortunately I had to return the animal the next day.I was not informed that this cat was abused Nor did they tell me the history of this animal.The volunteer was very sassy and snotty talking at me when I returned the cat.And refused to acknowledge my questions about the cats historyThe people working there are not concerned about building good pet relationships they just want to empty the cagesSo not fair
My partner and I adopted our first kitten a year ago from the Upper East Side ASPCA. The experience and the kitten could not have been better! Amazing disposition, litter box trained from day 1, & fit right in with my older cat (BFFLs now). The staff was super helpful, patient, and efficient. I received a free vet coupon for follow up shots, kitten had hurt her paw playing a week after coming home, the vet was super sweet and helpful. Did not feel like she was trying to make me spend excess money or scam me into medication. I highly recommend ASPCA for both adoption and vet visits.
Since the passing of my cat in 2005 I swore I would never get another pet, but that changed when I went to the ASPCA last month. The facility was clean, spacious and the staff was friendly and helpful. I was taken to the kitten room and one kitten caught my eye but she was reserved. Then I saw this little cutie-pie and I fell in love. The entire adoption process took about an hour. We arrived early and I made sure I had all of my documents. I picked out her collar and tag after paying my fee and was given a care package with samples of the food she had been eating.
After having a horrible experience with acc I came here and got a kitten he is fantastic so happy and full of love. The volunteers are kind and they work hard to make sure you get the right pet. The hospitals they pair with really take care of you after. Unfortunately he had a kitty cold. They also dont charge a fee for cars over 3 how cool is that. Adopt dont shop and come here
I got my 2 kittens from this lovely place!!! This people are incredible and friendly. They really love animals..when I found kittens in the street I took them to this place so they can find a home for them. They are always happy to received any cat for adoption or to give a home for them. This is like heaven in Earth for cats that are abandoned.
Great neighborhood adoption center with cats and dogs seeking new forever homes. The staff and volunteers do a great job and are very knowledgeable and helpful with plenty of information and resources. New dogs typically arrive on Wednesdays and find homes quickly. They also accept food donations too.
They have the selections when it comes to pet adoptions. Would definitely recommend if your looking for a specific type of animal.
They didnt give us the pet for reasons that I think were excuses. My complain is the procedure its make me sad is not to dont give us the pet. Its because they were not completely honest with us. They should tell us since the beginning that we were tested if we were perfect or not match to the pet. But instead of it they told us that we were ready to bring it home because we pasted the interviews before. We were exited to bring him home. Now after they told us that is not posible. How do you thing Im feeling. When I made me the idea that he was for us. And Im sorry but it was a silly excuse that they didnt give us the pet because I didnt stop to touch him. I never heard them and when my wife told me not too much I stoped.

Relatively clean/maintained. You cant reach anyone when you call the main line though...around and around and around you go in the voicemail recording tree and no matter what button you press, the recording suggests yet another call you should make. This should be far easier for people since the ASPCA relies on the kindness of the public for donations, volunteers, etc. I had 30 lbs. of new cat litter that I nearly threw away because I couldnt get anyone on the phone to confirm they would take it and lost my patience trying to get someone on the phone to confirm they were open and would take my donation. I ended up jumping in a cab and taking a chance theyd accept it. 5 stars for the work they do, but 1 star for making it frustrating and difficult in general to obtain any relatively valuable information. I mean, their website doesnt even plainly indicate their hours of operation.
I adopted a kitten after going through sort of a nightmare experience with a local adoption organization, and the contrasts between these two experiences emphasized the excellence of the ASPCA, its staff, and its volunteers. Founded in NYC in 1866, the ASPCA does a fantastic job of taking care of the citys animals, and educating pet owners. I was impressed by the friendliness and professionalism the staff and volunteers I met at the ASPCA. They set expectations clearly, and communicated well. When I went in on a Saturday morning, the kitty I wanted to adopt was not yet ready, but I was able to place her on hold. It was frustrating and a bit bewildering that they couldnt give me an indication of when she would be ready; I am sure there were good reasons for this. In any case, I appreciated that they had a way of reserving pets, and that once I committed to a pet, that they considered her mine until I decided otherwise. They called me the next morning with the news that she was ready to adopt. I got a bit emotional when they brought out this precious little kitten. Lia is only 2 months old but already spayed, up to date on shots, and microchipped and registered to my address; they also provide a metal tag with your phone number and the pets name, and offer a veterinary voucher of $250. Given all that they do for the community, the cost, $125, seems very fair. They sent me home with literature on cats, as well as food samples and toys. The tone of the instruction I received was very even-handed, well researched, and not at all judgmental. I would adopt a pet from the ASPCA again; it was a very positive experience, and they earned my respect.I am taking off one star though, since I felt very rushed through the experience of adoption. I realize now that I should have adopted two kittens, but I did not have time to meet more kittens in the adoption center, and the volunteers and staff did not stress to me how important getting two kittens from the same litter at the same time (as opposed to adopting another unrelated cat) can be in terms of getting a well matched pair. Ive also learned that they spend 20% of their budget on advertising, and that money donated to them does not go to local shelters across the US, even ones called SPCA.

The ASPCA are angels. They helped my yorkie and I when he was in desperate need. They saw my dog before asking for payment and worked with me regarding payment. The employees were caring and understanding. They admitted my dog and I am so grateful they are helping us. Your allowed to visit your pet while they’re admitted, so I’ll be back tomorrow to see my baby. Thank you ASPCA!
We have received amazing treatment in such a difficult time. The staffs kindness and patience when dealing with us panicky people, is really outstanding. I cant thank ASPCA enough for not only treating our sick animals, but they also care for our - the owners - hearts. They say hi when we enter the room, they call our pets babies, they communicate at every step, they are vwry sensitive when discussing monetary restrictions, they explain everything - risks, procedures, what to expect - all that in a manner thats nothing less than top notch. I dont know who runs this place, but he or she does a great job. Thank you
Back in mid March my family fostered a puppy that suffered head trauma and abuse. Long story short, my family fell completely in love and began the adoption process.The ASPCA got involved to conduct a cruelty investigation about the abuse she suffered. The rescue we fostered her from was told that when the investigation was over, she would be returned to the them, and then be ours.We spent weeks having the rescue check in every few days about our pup. Then we get the devastating news that the ASPCA vet decided to keep our pup even though the ASPCA and the vet KNEW our girl was pre-adopted by the family who took her in. The ASPCA allowed this vet to adopt our pup even though they are not currently processing adoptions during COVID.This is one of the most unethical, unprofessional, and dirtiest things a company can do and we are absolutely disgusted, angry, and heartbroken that our girl isnt going to be coming home.
I havent been to many animal shelters, but this is the best one Ive been to. Both the adoption center and the hospital have very professional and friendly staff. While hospital lines might be long, adoption procedure takes about an hour. All the animals are vaccinated and you are told everything about their medical history. Adoption is very cheap and a lot of times free depending on the age of the animal. They also give you bunch of gifts when you adopt.
When it came time to put my beloved dog down I went to the ASPCA. The vet that attended her was the most sympathetic professional I have ever met. He treated my very sick dog with dignity, care and was very gentle with her. He made a most difficult experience a little easy for me and for my dog.
I came here looking to adopt a small dog but the way I was treated was very shameful. I told them that I already own a rescue pitbull and they immediately asked me if I use him in fights. After I told them absolutely not they said I would need to bring him in so they can be sure. After all the awkwardness I informed then that I am a veteran and they said yeah sure everyone uses that excuse after this I got mad because that is one of the most disrespectful things you can say to someone who served this country. Past all of this i held my anger in and my partner and I looked at dogs. They are very well maintained and in a very clean environment. (The only reason in rating them 3 stars) after we picked a dog the woman told us was available we went downstairs to fill out paperwork. She looked at one of her coworkers and I over heard her whisper yo the woman at the desk to tell us that someone put a hold on the dog. I said are you kidding me? I can hear you. After this I just left out of disgust of the workers here. It really is a shame that they hire these types of people to work at a place that is supposed to be filled with joy.
Very friendly and the adoption process is rather simple. You need to have an ID and fill out a form/questionnaire to match you with a cat. Not sure procedure for a dog, but I imagine it is similar. This particular facility was very clean, pleasant, and the staff very friendly and professional.
Nice clean facility and they look like they really take care of their animals. Only complain is the disorganization at the security desk and thr lady who have me my paperwork was not so pleasant. The volunteer who showed me around was very friendly and they consider your living environment for best fit. Plus i like the fact that you can call about behavior questions at any time.
The staff here was very nice, and highly responsive. Helped explain all the options with my extremely ill cat, she was extremely anemic and bleeding internally, they did tests and kept the cost low. Unfortunately in the end my cat was too far off... but the doctor did several tests to help us make this decision, was very caring.My cat got to this position from another private practice vets huge mistake in not catching her anemia and having a dental procedure done.Highly suggest bringing your pet here, especially if they are older, they have everything on site to test and take care of your pet. And the doctors see a lot, even the front staff are on their toes.

Well!! I m a little disappointed i sent an application to adopt a puppy more than 3 weeks ago and they havent responded to me, i sent an email and they said that my application was not founded, that happend to me in the past with ASPCA, so i gave up.
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! These are wonderful, caring, supportive, and beautiful people. Very clean, decent wait time, emergencies are handled efficiently and animals are treated to a plethora of professional services and Vets. Decent pricing and they are willing to go the extra mile to assist any let very quickly!
I posted previous review on them not calling me back when they said. Well they did call me back, and Im so grateful to everyone there for their work and kindness. I cannot say thank you enough and I will need one more lifetime to fit my appreciation.Thank you so very much.
I adopted Roll in April 2017 when she was 2 months old. My grandson came with me to pick her out. We decided to keep her name and we are very happy with her. The services and staff at ASPCA are terrific. The staff are very kind, helpful and informative.
The ASPCA do amazing work for our pets. They helped us when we had our sick dog and we are ever grateful for the help. They saved our dogs life without prejudices and without charging an arm and a leg to do so. I would ask if youre going to get a pet, please adopt from the ASPCA or other local shelters or simply donate to these organizations.
Absolutely great. I had an inside line because my girlfriend fosters kittens for them so the kitts I got I already had a close bond with . However they have a very good way of screening the adopted parents with an animal through there questionnaire. They come with all there shots and are fully fixed potty trained and ready to love you. I love my 2 kitts and have been very blessed to get them..

Frauds!!!! Prior to my recent visit I never had an issue with ASPCA. I even adopted a cat 4 years ago and visited this location many times afterward, however I am now completely convinced that ASPCA has shady business practices and an uncerterfied medical team. About a week ago I came in looking to adopt a dog, after a tour of the available dogs I found one that would be a good fit for my family. Prior to signing any paperwork I requested a medical consult after being told that the dog has a medical condition. I waited a half hour before being brought upstairs to speak with the vet. I asked this woman a list of questions including if the illness was manageable for a working class family and if the dog needed immediate treatment. She assured me that the illness was simply a non serious condition which did not require immediate treatment and the dogs lethargic behavior was just a personality trait and had nothing to do with the condition. After speaking with her and having the behavior specialist confirm everything that the vet told me I decided to sign the paperwork. Being a first time dog owner I trusted that this reputable company would be forthcoming with adopters however this was not the case. Within a week the dog was not eating barely drinking water and her lethargy increased severely, I knew immediately that something was wrong. I took her and the medical records provided to a vet in Westchester and discovered that the ASPCA did not perform necessary testing to confirm the diagnosis and the medical report was inconsistent and contradictory to what they told me. The vet in Yonkers further told me that the dogs behavior was abnormal and not a personality trait and further testing would need to be done. After hearing this I went to the ASPCA and complained, the staff didnt care and was unapologetic. Why are you priding yourselves in being saviors for these animals but withholding vital information just to have them adopted, it hurts not only the animals but the potential adopters who have to return them because of your companys dishonesty.
I neutered my dog through the ASPCA, they were my best option. Incredibly helpful, although not overly friendly, they care about what they are there to do their job for which are animals. My dog had a bruise after I neutered him, I called them and explained it was just a bruise which showed more because of the pale skin of my pom. They helped me so much. I am so grateful to them
I had the best experience adopting from the ASPCA on the upper east side. Amazing and knowledgeable people helped me find a wonderful addition to my family. We love our new kitten (adopted on 10/31/15) and are forever grateful to the ASPCA!
So clean and well managed. Staff even describe each cats’s personality/socialibility, which is very helpful for me to look for a calm and affection cat. Connected with a one year old boy and is taking him home! Thanks.
Excellent veterinarians! Hospital is state of the art.My dog was released from surgery stay the day of the freak snow storm 2018. Charge Nurse fixed overly abundant pot luck meal & food for dog. Two nurses braved the storm & got us a 🚖. My sheroes!
The staff and volunteers go above and beyond, very lovely and kind people that truly care about animals. Thoroughly go through the adoption process, you speak to animal behaviorists and veterinarians to make sure you are the right fit for your new pet!
Whats going on here? Was only shown sick cat enclosures. Video was playing in the wait area of kittens and cats at play. The ASPCA website made it seem as if there were an array of kittens and cats to choose from. Hardly saw any. Is this a sham? Website is outdated. Whos running this place? As a first-time pet owner, I thought this would be the one place to start. Time wasted. Got better results from a perfect stranger, after the ASPCA visit. On my way to becoming a pet parent.
So far I have had a great experience with adopting a cat. Everyone was really nice and friendly and answered all my questions with the adoption process. The process was pretty straightforward.
My daughter just got the dog of her dreams. Gabana is so spoiled with her new family. Everyone was friendly They take you through a thorough process to make sure you and your future pet are an Awesome fit.
My dog, Levi, (a Yorkie) was attacked by a Pit Bull. The ASPCA Hospital amazing. They saw him fast. Being I am disabled & low income they made me a charity case (waving the $1200.00 bill & covering taxis to & from my home). A+ all around.
I love this animal hospital. Ive brought both of my cats on multiple occasions for different issues and have always been taken care of. Vets have all been fantastic and I even had one of the vets call me several days later to follow up.
Everyone in this place act as if they know everything and they know nothing about. Any pets. They made an appointment for my Cat in Queens Scheduled for a Monday 2 pm. Place has been closed for over 2 years. None of their information is updated. They say they are Overcrowded but still no sign of any animals. I visited the Manhattan location. Very disappointed.
For emergencies, this is the only place I bring my cats. Recently, my little guy fell out the window. He was in terrible pain, I was terrified. By 7am I was there, being signed in. In 5 minutes my kitty was taken to the back. Stat. Its basically a triage situation. My animal was given a transfusion which saved his life. He was also kept in hospital for 2 nights and 3 days due to the seriousness of his injury. When released, I was given j (3.5 stories!) and instructions for a tech visit 2 weeks later for a red blood cell count. Monkeyshines was very anemic and the Dr wanted to make sure it was only accident related. I would have given 5 stars, but the tech mustve been rough. After the red check, he chewed at the needle site. He didnt do that to his leg where the IV (for morphine & fluids) or catheter (transfusion) were.This is my second trip Ive taken to ASPCA @Bergh Memorial with with a life & death emergency & they were flexible about $$, kind, professional, but most importantly, successful!Recommended!
We adopted a cat by the name Yoshiko. They knew exactly what they were doing. My cat is 2 years old with the perfect look and personality for my family. A week later, I took my cat back to treat a cold the staff was great and the doctor was more then fabulous . She told me that my cat was suffering from: anomia, heart murmur, fever from spay, and dehydration. Not to mention , the cat suffers from separation anxiety. Maybe because she had 2 liters prior and they most of been taken from her. They did tell me about the liters, but didnt say anything about other medical issues. We love the cat so well deal with it. Yes, I would adopt again.
Both shelter and hospital personnel is very nice and caring. Easy to call them without sitting half hour on the line, and only an hour long (or maybe even less) adoption procedure. So if you feel like giving a home to a kitty or a dog dont hesitate and go there.
ASPCA had one of their adoption center cat cars last week on Saturday 19th at 81st st and 37th ave in Jackson heights. There were two women outside talking endlessless with each other - nothing about what the service was about because everyone could hear what they were talking - and when I interrupted to get information, one of the white woman looked at me nastly and gave me information with retaliations like ...you need $150 to adopt . You cannot adopt without it. You need a federal ID...you cannot have without it....when I went home to get what she asked for, I called her very excited to get my interview and she nastly again told me that my cat had already taken- and I didnt tell her what cat I wanted - and gave me her back. Disrespectful, unprofessional and not polite over all. If volunteer or staff. They have to have a better approach of our community. Will never stop by in ASPCA cars in my hood. Ive sent a message at the same day to aspca and they never responded back.
5 Stars is for the Dr who looked after Lola and kept her till she was strong enough to come home. She kept me updated with her health and how she was doing throughout the day. I cant thank her enough for helping me out with the funds that I didnt have to help save my Lola. As for the staff in the front desk theyre very rude very unprofessional. The type of people they need at the front desk are people who greet you with a smile when you come in and have a people person personality someone who loves their job not just work to get a paycheck. They make you think twice about going back or referring anyone to this location.
This place left me heart-broken!! I went here to adopt a kitten. We picked out a kitten we thougnt would be a great addition to our family (we had one other very friendly cat). After waiting about 20 minutes we were told that kitten was already “on hold” despite no paper work being placed on its kennel to indicate such.When we asked why it was on hold we were told one of the volunteers wanted to adopt it. We left frustrated having fallen in love with the kitten. We called back and they told us there was no hold placed on the kitten. So clearly when the volunteer saw we were interested he/she decided at that point (not earlier) that they wanted to kitten. So cruel. We will not be adopting from the aspca and I would not recommend you do either after the horrible treatment and experience we had here.
The store is always well stocked and clean inside and out. The prices are very good and reasonable. Walmart does have everything. Its a great place to shop.
I adopted my two cats (now 5 years old), when they were just 8 weeks old on an ASPCA adoption van in Union Square. They were very efficient in checking my background and offered veterinary services for a limited time after adopting them.Pumpkin and Spice are my loves and I have the ASPCA to thank for that!They were fixed at 2months for free, and when I had a follow up, the vets there were very nice and supportive to my crazy cat fancies.Also, they called us for our appointment as Spice and Pumpkin Sheppard...which, while it took me a beat to realize, it was DELIGHTFUL
Staff in the hospital is always friendly. I go at least every other month as my cat needs special food. Worse part about it is wanting to adopt all the fur babies they have in the window.
I would like to thank the ASPCA organization for organizing the pet truck in my area. The staff was helpful and caring to my puppy and I am grateful for that. Ten days after my pup pup got spayed she is back to her normal self! Great job!
I now have a lovely cat :)While on observation in the waiting room; I found this ASPCAs ideology, dogmatic. Any vocalized thought of differing opinion will cement you on a list to never acquire a pet from the ASPCA.If you want to rescue a lovely anamal, it is best you just yes them off at every step of the process, this way you can continue rescuing animals and making the world a better place.
All the staff and Doctors and Nurses do an amazing job! The donations are so needed..They try to help every pet that comes through those doors, they try to get you financial aide if you qualify. .God Bless them for all they do...
Honestly it was all a rollercoaster from the beginning I fell in love with a puppy named tally, she was beautiful I just had to have her; I put her on hold to so that when shes ready to go I can get her and bring her home! It was a week since I put her on hold I called everyday asking how was she, was there any updates or progress? They always nothing nothing nothing, a week goes by and they called me saying she wouldnt be a match for me without even knowing me or my family, they gave me so many excuses and I wasnt taking no for an answer! I was raised with dogs all my life some hyper some shy some mean some nice but never in my life have I ever turned my back because of how they were I gave them a chance and thats exactly what I was going to do with tally give her a chance! I went the next morning right early in the morning and spoke to manager on how what they were saying to me over the phone didnt fit the purpose of aspca which is to give dogs a home somewhere to be loved and cared for, they honestly continued to give me the run around I cried and I stormed out I was hurt, they asked me to come back that they will try to work with me, I came back and honestly if its was for DANA the behavior analysis I dont think any of this will be possible! She really was so helpful she understood! It was her first time meeting the puppy too and she knew how she would be the first time shes a puppy whos been in a room with other dogs not exposed to kids people the outside you cant expect her to be full of enjoy she has to warm up to it she needs to be comfortable in her own way! And Dana understood that and gave us the chance she didnt see a problem she so how friendly the puppy was around us she was the perfect match! Dana honestly changed our lives my daughter now has a puppy to call her own and grow up with and I dont know how else I can thank her! a nightmare turned to a beautiful happy ending because of her! I recommend her always she knows whats she talking about and how to speak on it! Thank you so much for opportunity to have a family Dana!
Informative and friendly staff - readily available to assist you.I went there for a tour and to possible adopt a dog. Their inventory moves very fast - so if you see a dog or a cat - it’s best to call ahead and perhaps put a hold one the pet - if that’s even possible.Seems like it goes by first application process
My cat was really ill. My daughter and I was so scared. The staff supported me emotionally through the phone until I made it to a center to get him cared for.

2022-01-13Got my dog there almost 4 years ago. Love her. Had a great adoption experience. They do a lot of follow up to make sure all is going well. They also do a great job at evaluating dogs behavior so you can find a dog that suits you.

2022-02-22I had a fantastic adoption experience today at ASPCA. We came in looking to adopt a cat and bring them home with us same day. I was very anxious not knowing what to expect. We got there and were given a questionnaire and set up with our matchmaker, Daniel. He asked a few follow up questions and said he had a few options that fit my preferences. He showed us to the most adorable bonded pair set of boy kittens that we immediately connected with. I saw one more cat and knew the first pair were the ones. We were given enough food for weeks, personalized collars and vouchers for emergency vet care. Daniel really understands the animals in their care and genuinely wants to see them go to fitting homes. He was so knowledgeable and I felt completely confident going home with my 2 kittens after him walking me through all the resources the ASPCA offers to their adopters. I would HIGHLY recommend this organization and Daniel in particular. Thankful to have people like these in the community.UPDATE: I’ve had my boys for two years now and I can’t imagine life without them. I’m so glad I walked into ASPCA two years ago today!

2022-06-30A beautiful staff and veterinarian who helped our family through one of the most difficult times. Our baby was sick and ready to have her pain end. She was so at ease and displayed her trust by the look and expression in her eyes. After twelve and a half years of love, compassion and loyalty to our family she needed to rest in a better place. Words cannot express the kindness your staff displayed. I was taken aback and tell all friends and family about how not to stereotype a city agency, surely you have broken the mold and we are forever grateful for your compassion in our time of need. May GOD bless you and all the humane work that you do.
