Aspen Dental in other cities:
I was a little nervous to step back into the office after i had quit at the aspen call center but they are the number 1 provider for my husbands insurance, so i went to my appointment. The office staff were super sweet and paid attention to ever detail. They let me know they heard my concerns and are willing to work with me. I asked the dentist which situation was best for me when it came to saving my teeth, she was upfront the whole time and showed me compassion. I will stay a patient of this office in Oswego NY as Dr Washington is top notch and her staff are truly amazing
I have recently had dental extractions and and am scheduled for cleanings. I have had bad experiences with other providers not related to Aspen Dental in the past. The medical staff at Aspen so far are the best by far. 5 stars for the medical team. However when it comes the scheduling I am not impressed. I have received multiple texts messages telling me I have missed my appointment. I am not sure who does the scheduling but they arent doing it properly. Especially because I have called and asked the Oswego office a week ago to resolve the issue. I just called the 1-800 # again and demanded they stop with the texts about missed appointments. Paula was quite rude. Medical team *****, 1800 appointment team *
The people were really nice! however, I told them about a 100 times that I have anxiety and made sure they could see me. They assured me they see patients with anxiety often and it would be no problem. They did my x-rays and then sent me on my way without an oral exam because of my anxiety. I wouldn’t recommend if you have issues with going to the dentist.
The receptionists at both Cicero & Oswego were very nice. Also the techs & assistants were friendly and helpful. However the dentist must have been having a bad day. She was far more curt and direct than I would have expected. Especially for my first time there. She was talking about recovery times for potential procedures that I was not yet made aware of. And wasnt even the reason I went in the first place. Also I have very good insurance but the first option presented to me was the highest out of pocket. I knew to question this, then it was the full covered, no out of pocket for the potential covered procedure. I was not pleased and felt bad when I left. I will not be going back.
My husband went here, they tried to put a crown in and were unable to do so, needed to go to a real dentist. They charged him over 700$ for something they couldn’t do. They said they would pull the tooth for 270$. So he went back and got the tooth pulled , when done they told him he would only be getting 130$ back !!! Charged him 600$ for an easy tooth extraction!!! Bad service and huge rip off!!!
Hygienist, Holly, is absolutely amazing! Thanks to her, I no longer have severe dental anxiety. Holly goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and is also extremely knowledgeable. I am very pleased with my experience, thus far and would definitely recommend. All of the staff are wonderful!
Im sure there are some good and bad experiences. Mine was not the greatest. I arrived early to fill out paper work since I WAS a new patient and it still took them 90 minutes to get me out of the building. In other words, I was waiting a long time. Also, some of the workers there are so overly professional that it comes across as arrogant and condescending. Maybe thats just my personality, but tone it down a notch guys! Im not referring to the lady that did my x rays. I forgot her name, but she was cool! Finally, the Dr that FINALLY came in to see me had the worst bed side manner I have ever personally experienced. She walked in, introduced herself, sat down with her back towards me and started to ask me questions. On top of that, she was talking about my dental hygiene IN THE OPEN, which is never suppose to happen in any medical environment. Needless to say I will not be going back to this location. Get it together, ASPEN!!!
Very attentive and friendly staff and Doctors. Made me feel at ease after being a nervous wreck to get dental work done. They distracted me with pleasant conversation and my treatment was over in no time at all! Hopefully this positive experience will help me not to fear the dentist again.Thank you to all of the Oswego NY staff! 😁
Everyone was so friendly and warm! The woman who took my x-rays, and settled me into a room, the hygeinist, and the dentist, and even the receptionist were all very personable and helpful. The dentist took her time explaining and answering questions, and the billing receptionist at the end of my visit carefully detailed for me what everything would cost out of pocket so there will be no surprises. She gave me options and even though I need a root canal and crown and a strong antibiotic to treat an abscess, I left feeling very positive and well taken care of. Quality patient care is everything. A friendly patient smile makes an otherwise stressful situation more than manageable. Thank you and as it was my first time I dont remember anyones names but I look forward to getting acquainted. A very positive experience!
After calling all the oral surgeons in my area and couldn’t get an appointment until after a month or more, I got one within 5 days at Aspen. Was sceptical at first but I needed to go. The office in Oswego was very nice. The people were professional and friendly. Dr Elliott was very gentle and quick. I have already referred my mom to them after one visit!
First, let me say everyone was amazingly nice. Its a very clean, modern facility and everyone I spoke with was very professional. That being said, I initially called the Watertown location near my home, looking for help with a broken tooth which is causing me extreme pain. I was referred down to the Oswego location over an hour away from the Watertown location because they did not have a dentist on staff apparently. The appointment was two weeks out but I took it and decided to wait because the person on the phone said they should be able to fix my problem that day.Two weeks of pain later, (Think Tom Hanks in Castaway kinda tooth pain) I made the hour drive down and arrived early with my paperwork pre filled out to save time. I went through the process of getting all the x-rays of my teeth. Holly who was just great, took extensive time showing me the results, explaining everything very clearly. Then the dentist came in, explained everything again and did a quick check of the tooth. I was told the tooth could be saved which was great news, then told to go sit in a little comfy lounge to wait. At this point, Im beginning to get the sense they werent actually going to do anything for me that day. After a brief wait, I was brought to the front desk, given a 3000+ estimate and told they could fix it but they wanted to set another appointment to clean my teeth first ,then set another appointment after that to do my procedure. I left, still in pain, and drove the hour plus ride home with the prospect it was going to be a month before my tooth could be actually be fixed. (Starting to consider Tom Hanks Castaway Ice Skate method at this point)Im not mad at them, I just wish I had been given a clearer indication as to what that first visit would or wouldnt do for me. I waited two weeks in pain for that appointment, made the 3 hour round trip and left, still in pain with nothing really accomplished except the x-rays. What happened to the days you could go to a dentist and actually have your problem addressed? Not sure Im going back.
I went there for emergency walk in service but was told they couldn’t see me and to come back in two days. I waited almost 90 minutes to see the doctor who did nothing for my tooth and said that I should make an appointment for work to be done. HORRIBLE service and my tooth is still not fixed. Thanks for nothing aspen dental.
Aspen Dental does all they can to please their patients. I found them to be very knowledgeable and able to explain each step of the process, putting me entirely at ease. They seemed to go out of their way to expedite the process and meet requests with the ease of true professionals. Thumbs up!
Dr. Washington was with me through the whole process..beginning to end. She is professional, friendly and very detailed about your well being. Just love her. The staff there... naming one Matt and all the others were incredible at what they do. They make the experience so easy... they go up and beyond. I would recommend Aspen Dental in Oswego, NY with a 10 star rating. Thank you all for your help and changing my life for the better.SincerelyAnn C
People were nice, but I felt I was in an assembly line. I felt the dentist was not happy with me for asking questions, but that may have been nerves. I went in for one thing and $4000+ later, I had several things. I was embarrassed because there was no way I could afford the dental work and eveyone ( staff, patients) knew it. Walking past everyone to get out of there was humiliating. Theres got to be a better way !
Terrible experience. Went in for a cavity filling which was supposedly a very minor cavity and Dr. Washington must of drilled to far down when doing the repair because now I cannot bite down on the left side of my mouth. They said I would probably need a root canal, Im assuming because they hit a nerve when trying to repair. They offered no compensation and didnt return three of my phone calls after stating that they would. Now Im left with permanent damage to my mouth. They are very unprofessional not only in their work, but how they handle clients and do business. I would not recommend them to anyone. Very disappointed. They have lost my whole familys business!!
My experience at Aspen Dental in Oswego, NY has left me speechless. I never thought Id enjoy a dentist visit so much! The wait was kind of long but the service as well as the staff we just awesome! Very clean and welcoming! After my exam, I spoke to a woman regarding my treatment and what my insurance would cover. She spent 45mins explaining all of my options as well as going over the in depth overview of were ever single cent would be going. I walked away fully informed and confident that I made the right choice by choosing Aspen Dental.
Every one was fantastic, I would definitely recommend Aspen Dental to anyone. I would no longer recommend Aspen Dental, ended up having to have Sinus surgery due to having a tooth pulled that opened up the sinus cavity and when the area was rinsed out it pushed bacteria up into the sinuses and caused a severe sinus infection. Three rounds of antibiotics did not touch the infection, was referred to an ENT and then surgery. And was then charged more than what I was originally told it would cost.
Went in to Aspen in Oswego with a very painful broken tooth. I went through x-rays and consultation, didnt expect any relief towards the end of the visit, but they fit me in for an extracion. The dentist was excellent, tooth came out without issue. It was great to get same day relief. I will be going back.
I scheduled a dentist appointment for 2 chipped teeth and a ton of pain. The lady was super nice and got me an appointment for tomorrow. I was called back not even 10 minutes later and told they have no providers so they cancelled my appointment. Uhm... how do you have zero providers in a dentist office that’s supposed to be open? Lol
Aspen has messed up the billing - after a couple calls, a rep called me back and assured me it would be taken care off - and to not worry about the balance.Today a letter from a collection agency.Bad enough they cannot keep people working there - they seem to run screaming as soon as they can - my last appt was re-scheduled 3 times for no hygenist - ... and now this
I equate my experience at the Aspen dental factory to buying a used car that I neither need nor want from someone I despise. The sales tactics, pressure and the adding of product to my bill without my authorization was dishonest and pathetic at best. Have gone to the same dentist for years. last exam,x-rays and cleaning were in 2/2016. Bill of perfect dental health. Aspen says I have the beginnings of periodontal disease in six months time?! $2000 of work needed?! Went back to my dentist and paid out of pocket for 6 month cleaning........perfect dental health!!!!!! I am thoroughly disgusted with the sales practices at Aspen and am letting it be known!
This was absolutely vthe worst experience we have ever had. After declining the nearly $1000 cleaning service and just asking for the extraction we were in there for, we were treated VERY rudely and made to wait nearly 2.5 hrs. A real circus. When we asked why he was sent home the first day with nothing for his pain, we were told they dont do that basically because of the drug problems in the area. He is a 60 yr old man who was in excruciating pain when we got there and merely told to come back the next afternoon. If i had known the horrible reputation this place had, I would have never taken my husband vthere. NEVER AGAIN!!
I went to aspen dental to have some work done they called my insurance company and frigged it all out i singed papers to have the work done for a thousand dollars for root planing and 3 fillings then after they the work done i am suppose to pay 60 dollars a mouth for 18 months 0 present interest . they made a mistake in how much the insurance would pay so they just added the difference to my bill 1400 dollars witch i did not agree to so i disputed the charge now i got to fight them. there a bunch of lairs down there and they trick you . the nice act is just to get you in so they can screw you .well i just got a call from them saying there sorry and i will only haft to pay what i agreed to they did make it right and some people got fired .
They are very friendly and nice. The place is clean and welcoming. In the beginning they explained everything but the last few times I went they didnt explain how the next steps were going to go. I had to ask and they explained it like I already knew how its all done. Plus I showed them a picture of how my teeth were before a got my top denture years ago and they didnt even come close. They look like the standard denture. Ive asked if they can redo them and they said no. So Im stuck with them I guess. Lets hope the final bottom ones are done okay so I can talk right again without my s sounding strange.
Wasnt sure I would be see on that day. Once I got in the lady taking the exrays was very nice and I found out we had something in common. The lady checking my teeth was not gentle at one point she made my bad tooth hurt and I have a bruise on my face now, up near my eye.
Ive been going to this office for about 3.5 years now, since shortly after I moved to town and had a crown fall off (crown was 5 years old and I was eating a chewy caramel- my fault!). Not having a dentist in town yet I called Aspen thinking Oh, its a chain, theres got to be a base quality, nbd if all I ever have done here is fixing this they fit me in the very next morning (I called as they were closing) for a full New Patient exam w/xrays and recementing my crown- great experience so I decided to stick with them.Fast forward 3 years, a couple fillings, and a new location (the new offices are great, btw)- I go in for an issue (abscessed tooth that ended up needing extraction), pass my usual hygienist (Morgan) in the hall, she says hi, asks how Im doing, and asks about something wed talked about MONTHS ago during my last cleaning (a change at my job). See Dr. Washington- it goes similarly. The people of this office are great and really do try to know their patients. I see a lot of complaints about long waits and running behind (kinda fair, I almost rescheduled a cleaning because Id been waiting so long one time) but that can happen anywhere- as long as I live in Oswego, barring any major changes, Ill still go here.
TL;DR: Aspen Dental has fraudulent/unethical/deceptive business practices and sales tactics. Avoid if possible and consider independent dental practices. It pains me to have to write this review because the staff are so friendly and helpful, but behind that veneer is a lurking and sinister problem and Im seriously concerned. Im a fairly well-educated and assertive woman and this company deceived me and coerced me into unnecessary procedures and expenses. They claimed I had periodontitis. Id heard before that theyre notorious for over-diagnosing this, but I wanted to give the professionals a benefit of the doubt. After all, I was bleeding from the gums so much and their poking and prodding hurt! That cant be normal, right? For those of you who dont know, periodontitis is a disease that once you have it, it never goes away. Imagine my surprise when I decided after having the sneaking suspicion that Aspen Dental was being dishonest, going to an independent dental practice and discovering I had no sign of the disease! Huh! Curious! So whats with all of the bleeding? They wouldnt purposefully force my gums to bleed just to fabricate evidence for a disease I didnt have, would they? And come to think of it, the treatment Aspen Dental pushed on me ended up being expensive and not covered by my dental insurance so... whats going on here? I have a strong suspicion that Aspen Dentals corporate practices encourages misdiagnosis, even faking evidence of a diagnosis, in order to deceive the consumer into unnecessary procedures. I also believe that Aspen Dentals corporate practices forces this otherwise friendly and pleasant staff to use under-handed sales tactics to pad your bill. This is disturbing, to say the least. They could have put my health in jeopardy by purposefully injuring my mouth for a pay day. I hope Im wrong about this, but my new experience with a different dental practice indicates that Aspen Dentals practices are at least unethical if not outright fraudulent. Im having my current dentist obtain my records from them and if I find evidence that they committed fraud, Im calling the Attorney General. Oswego has a high population of low-income and uneducated residents who could easily be deceived or even put in danger due to their business practices. Please consider going to an independent dental practice. Aspen Dental is AT THE VERY LEAST not a client-centered/patient-centered company and being in the healthcare field myself, I find that abhorrent. This isnt just my experience, but my husbands and several of my friends.
My wife was complaining of a sore tooth and went in to have it checked out. The doctor (whose name we never caught because she never introduced herself durring any of the numerous visits) said shed need a root canal and sent her to an Endodontist in Syracuse. 2 weeks later and now in even worse pain the endodontist said he didnt see any reason she would need a root canal but recomemded a crown. My wife was sent back to this dentist in Oswego where 2 weeks later they put in the worst fitting temporary crown ever (seriously the thing was the size of a horse tooth) and told her to come back in 2 weeks for the permanent crown. My wifes mouth was so sore she couldnt eat any solid food for the entire 2 weeks everything had to go through the blender first. 2 weeks came and went still no crown, then another week and then another. Finally, 4 weeks later, the crown came in. They put it in and not even 36 hours later it came loose and fell out of her mouth! We called the office they said itd be two weeks before they had another appointment. We called their customer service line and they set up an appointment at the Clay office later that week. So now we take off work to drive to Clay we sat in the waiting room over 90 mins past our appointment time at which point the dentist there said the permanent crown they made was so poorly done that we really should have another one made. We explained that that wouldnt work as she was about to leave town to work out of state for 6 weeks. They tried to do everything they could to make this new crown work for her but she still has pain in the tooth and cant chew on that side of her mouth. 3 months, 5 visits, two dentists, an Endodontist, to two different Aspen Dental locations, 2 crowns and a lot of money spent and her tooth hurts more than when we started. After trying to get them to do the right thing we gave up forfeited the time and money expended on it and are now looking for a new dentist. Worst medical experience ever.
I had an appointment for a filling and it took 2 and a half hours. Was supposed to get my permanent denture mold at the end of August and was rescheduled because nobody put in my file that I had to have fillings first. Its been months since the temporary ones have been tightened because they never have the materials. Very unhappy.
January 2013 - I had a cleaning appt. and the girl was very nice and talked to me about my teelth. She was very nice and easy to talk too. Also there was this lady her name was Amanda and she told me that a root canal wasnt to bad. This was my first root canal and I was alittle upset about getting a root canal. Amanda said she would come and sit with me if I wanted her to. I didnt need her, everything went good. Thanks Amanda. The dentist was very nice also.
I had a tooth that was broken and had the root exposed and was so painful I was literally sick to my stomach. The dentist (black female) told me I had to wait a week to have my tooth pulled because she was going to a wedding. Who does that??! I went to the Clay office and was fit right in the next day and had my tooth pulled.
Not only have I spend over a month trying to get ahold of them but I’m paying them for work I haven’t had done yet and my bill keeps getting bigger and bigger. If I could give 0 stars I would. This is ridiculous. Out of a month they answered the phone one time and told me to call back on Saturday to get it figured out and no one was there ! Not dependable.

2021-08-21I had a wonderful experience, in the great hands of these two wonderful ladies! I’m glad I came to Aspen Dental for a second opinion on a tooth extraction. Of course options existed, I wanted a dentist to be honest in telling me not to keep a tooth when it was too far gone. I am free of the tooth pain suffered most of the pandemic. I recommend seeking a second opinion when you feel you are not being heard, your wishes not respected, or you feel you are not being offered all possibilities or options of treatment regardless of the cost. Long wait to see the first dentist, to be given the runaround over the financial costs of my options and disagreements with the dentist. It took me several days to find a dentist accepting new patients, quick appointment, and bonus in receiving better treatment! Save your time and money… hopefully you need Aspen Dental to be direct and honest, I was told to never go to Aspen… so glad I went and had a far different experience! For me Aspen Dental is the only dental office I’ll be going to in Oswego County! The pandemic reasons to not accept new patients, is not an issue at Aspen, I walked in with an afternoon appointment for X-rays and treatment plan set in motion. The following week my tooth extraction. A few weeks off of work and recovery time was great. Best place in town for me!

2022-04-15Great experience, from the lady at the front desk to walking out. Kat from X-ray was great explained everything and options. Definitely the best place I’ve ever been to. Thank you!

2022-01-27I am writing on behalf of my husband. He specifically told them he did NOT want the fluoride topical treatment. Then he receives a letter saying that he is responsible for paying for this treatment which was apparently given to him despite him choosing to opt out. This will be fought because he should have to pay for a service he did not want to receive.

2021-04-09I made appointments on the phone for myself and my husband. I’m glad my appointment was during the week and my husbands later on in the week. I got into my appointment right away and all the staff was nice they were friendly and the place was clean. Once I was in the chair and my X-rays done the wait was then FOREVER!!!! Finally someone comes and scans my teeth. Okay cool... waiting on the cleaning now. So the hygienist finally comes in and accessed the condition of my gums and teeth and says okay the doctor will be in soon. I’m confused, normally when I visit a dentist they clean my teeth then the dentist does the exam. No sorry you thought the appointment you made on the phone was to get your teeth cleaned... ohh no we don’t do that here you need to see the doctor first then come in for a different appointment for the cleaning. So i was lucky they had only one available that day at 2 pm I had already been there 2 1/2 hours what’s another 2 more right? I had to reschedule my child care and waited for my cleaning. I then asked about my husbands appointment that would be coming up on Saturday, I don’t want him to come in (an hour drive btw) and not get a cleaning. Oh well we don’t have a hygienist on Saturdays. So what exactly is this an appointment for just the exam? He won’t even get the assessment like I got. I just think it’s really silly to have Saturday hours but no hygienist. I feel like I was misled by the salesperson who set up our appointments. My time money and nerves were all tested by my appointment at ASPEN Dental and I feel that they have only money in mind not the treatment of their money bringers. (I won’t even say patients) it’s all clearly about money because they wouldn’t be misleading people to get the maximum number of appointments and money. They don’t want to have you come in for a cleaning at your checkup because they can just make you come in twice so they can get more money from your insurance. If I could give zero stars I would. Shame on you aspen dental, where greed outweighs care.

2021-08-01Being a previous worker of Aspen dental, I can tell you as a call center representative, that it is a quote bait and switch organization. They bait you by coming in for a free consultation and x-ray, they said they work with everybody, and they do not, and also once you go into the office, they decide to tell you how much everything cost, and then get you to sign up for CareCredit, Genesis credit, or another credit program. Now they used to offer where the office would be able to work with you on a payment plan, now thats not even offered as well. So if you want my better opinion of this place, find another dentist that takes your insurance. I would not even recommend my dog being seen at Aspen dental.

2020-01-19My experience with Aspen Dental was a very good one. The staff was very pleasant, patient and understanding. They made sure that I was comfortable and relaxed. I fractured and they were able to get me into their office within a week. Unfortunately they were not able to save my tooth but they were able to extract it that same day. I will definitely be back and refer to my friends and family.

2020-10-21This visit, I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed. I was a bit nervous going in, but everyone was so wonderful, friendly, and encouraging. The people at Aspen Dental in Oswego make all the difference in the world, and I am happy to recommend them! If you’re looking for a bright, clean, and welcoming dentist’s office, this is the place to go.

2021-03-13I went to aspen January of 2020 to get a cleaning since I knew I had a few cavities. They looked at my teeth and said they looked fine and that they didnt have a dental hygienist and that I would be put on a waiting list and they would contact me once they had one. Then March 2021 came and I just went back last week because the tooth that I knew had a cavity broke into a bunch of pieces. They looked at it and told me that I would need a root canal that would cost 1300 per tooth and then proceeded to tell me that they dont have a orthodontist and that I would have to wait to get it fixed. They did however have a dental hygienist there this visit and she was sarcastic with me once it old her that I hadnt got my teeth cleaned in 7 years because I hadnt had insurance. She proceeded to laugh and say wow youre killing it and then no cleaning was performed. That was extremely unprofessional and I do not recommend aspen to anyone, they are extremely unorganized. People who act like that towards clients are the reason why people dont go back to the dentist since they havent gone in years. You are suppose to help them get back on track not make them feel degraded.

2021-05-06If you’re considering to go to this aspen dental In Oswego to get wisdom teeth removed, PLEASE THINK AGAIN and consult with other surgeons nearby. From my experience, I wouldn’t want another person to get basically scammed and mistreated.Got 4 Wisdom Teeth removed at Aspen Dental on 4/28/2021 by Dr. Elliot Edious. Appointment was made two months in advance. I originally paid out of pocket to get a cleaning, with filling cavities and also getting my 4 wisdom teeth removed and only left with my teeth removed. The surgeon that performed my oral surgery was nothing but friendly before the procedure. I’m not sure how I was put under, I just remember being told they were giving me nitrous to help me relax. The surgery was about an hour long, woke up pretty out of it. They ordered my prescriptions to my pharmacy that was ready right away after the surgery. Two hours after, while I was still coming down from being put under, Dr. Elliot Edious called to check up. Of course I wasn’t able to answer since I was still out of it from going under and just trying to read and follow the after care instructions was hard enough. No one else has followed up since the 2 hour post op, it has been 9 days. I’m pretty sure If I had a complication that there would be no one to help since a surgeon comes in ONLY twice a month.Im disgusted that I was taken advantage of for my money. & I wish i was told more how to care for after surgery. I do not recommend to anyone looking to get there wisdom teeth out to go to aspen dental. It’s not worth the lack of care when recovering from an a oral surgery.Edit: The patient should not be going out of their way to get in touch the surgeon so have a follow up. It’s extremely careless, I don’t even feel comfortable going back after to Aspen Dental, theyre just going to take advantage of you and your money. They generally don’t care about how you recover wont look back after getting 4 wisdom teeth removed. Dont Go here!!!!!!!!
