AT&T Store in other cities:
After waiting upwards of 20 minutes to get inside due to Covid-19 precautions, we asked the associate for help with returning a wireless router that had been picked up at a retail store. The associate said he couldn’t do anything in store and refused to even call customer service for us to cancel an account—something he could have done easily for us—but he preferred to look at his phone without even wearing his mask properly. He simply muttered vague instructions on what to do; unapologetic and useless. I will never return to this location. There are no excuses for awful customer service.UPDATE: (Representative’s name: Austin) We returned to the store the same day and asked for a manager. After speaking with Austin for a few more minutes he did call customer service who was able to help us within 5 minutes.
Team members at the Stuyvesant Plaza store were very helpful. Assisted my father setting up a cellular iPad, going out of their way to help find one. Assisted me with getting new iPhone, transferring all data and setting up plans for hot spots. Was in and out of store in very timely manner for both of these occasions and would highly recommend.
I have been here twice to buy new phones and have had terrible experiences both times. The first time they overcharged me for the phone by signing me up for a plan I didnt agree to. The second time, I asked if they were running a buy one get one free offer and they said yes. We proceeded to get through the whole process of getting new phones and right before we walk out the door (after we finalized all the paperwork) , she mentioned that we werent actually eligible for this buy one get one free deal. We wasted about 2 hours of our time here for nothing. It was incredibly frustrating and I would not recommend going here.
I have been going to this AT&T store for several years. Everyone who works there is very friendly and extremely helpful when trying to choose the best phone for me! Mike Fairchild has made my life so much easier by helping me understand my account and making changes as I need them. He is always available via text or email to help! Kudos to Mike and the staff for having a great store!!
I happen to work in retail, and value customer service beyond anything else when I am on the other side of the counter as a consumer. This is exactly why I recommend using this location for your AT&T needs. Each time I happen to have an issue, question, or just due for my upgrade, theyve been unbelievably helpful in making sure I get exactly what Im looking for and understand each and every detail. Highly Recommended.
Went in to upgrade our phones. Knew it would take a while had no idea it would be an all day process. Josh (I believe hes the store manager) was absolutely awesome. He went above an beyond to get us our new phones. Spent forever on the phone trying to fix a glitch saying we owed money when we didnt....twice btw...before he was finally able to figure out what to do. The district manager even grabbed a phone from a different store and brought it to us and then stayed (on a Saturday) to make sure everything went thru. Could have been a horrible experience but they joked and laughed and were obviously doing everything they could to fix it so the overall experience wasnt bad at all. Dont worry AT&T, we wont hold this against you. And Josh, maybe next time well do our phones online so you can avoid us lol. Thanks again!
Dane who works at this location was excellent!!Was extremely helpful! Was very professional and patient with helping my husband and me.Cannot thank him enough!! Truly appreciate his help. Highly recommend him. Dane is truly an asset to AT&T! Thank you very very much, Dane!!
Went into the store to upgrade a few lines and everyone was fantastic! We have a business account with like 9 lines on it and I walked out with more than I even thought I would. I believe the Store Manager was Rebecca, she just got there about a week ago and the knowledge she has is amazing. This store needs somebody like her. Also Austin was present as well assisting with everything and he was also amazing. I will not longer go to Crossgates Mall because the guests services are well above the Corp location. Thanks for everything !!
I was going to leave At&t to go to a cheaper carrier. The manager took his time and broke down why my bill was so high he helped me get on a more affordable plan and informed me of the extra fees that are included that other carriers dont tell you about when they offer cheap service. He seemed knowledgeable and honest. Great store experience.
Stopped by the other day on a whim to see if I was eligible for an upgrade. Im somewhat of an indecisive shopper when it come to phones and Mike F. was more than willing to take the time to look over everything with me as I waffled through my options. It was nice to finally find a very knowledgeable, friendly and patient sales man who was willing to sell me the phone that I wanted and not the phone they were trying to push that month. Highly recommended. Will shop here again.
Wasted two hours of my day here. Came in because a coworker told me about a BOGO deal on a new phone for him and his wife. Sounded like a good deal to me so my wife and I went in and asked about the deal. They signed us up no problem, but they only had one phone in stock so they drove to another store to pick the other one up. No problem as we were going to be in the area for lunch anyway. So we get the one phone all set up, pay all the upfront fees and for the first phone. So everything seemed to be going smoothly. After lunch we go back in and start to switch over to the second new phone, and this is where it got ridiculous. The associate asks how we heard about the promotion and I told her. She then explains to me that we arent eligible for the BOGO because we are not adding a line to our plan.So we spent an hour in the store with the associate, a second associate and the store manager and this was never once mentioned to us when we first came in. Now after we get back from lunch the light goes off? Spent another hour in the store undoing all the changes that had been done originally so we could go back to our old phones. The change back and forth was made easy but the huge waste of time for something that should have been easily avoided was just unacceptable. Not the first time this store as messed up something for us.
They are so awful in this store, totally incompetent. My phone will not charge due to moisture detected - the girl with the obnoxious attitude who believes customer service is beneath her had to google to see what was wrong with my phone. The guy was a complete waste of time - oh its not charging and I dont know why? Seriously ATT, this is the best you can find to hire? No resolution, bad attitude and customer service - forget it. When I told them I could have stayed home and googled it instead of wasting 30 mins in the store, she replied perhaps you should have They are enough for me to cancel my service. Absolutely useless
Good store... much more efficient than some of the bigger ones on Central Ave. Have always had luck with staff here, which seems to change often, but when I was just in there they lowered my bill and saved me a few bucks per month on an upgrade and a free iPad to go with it. Friendly and great!
Scam headquarters. Beware. Place has a long track record of theft and misinforming customers. Corporate has been notified every time and have had to clean house. My experience is with the manager who helped me to switch from Verizon. Misinformed me about what he was getting me into. Said he got me into free the right iPhones and threw in free iPads. “Free” Everything on iPads. Even provided me with print outs.Came to find out it wasn’t at all free iPads. Paid taxes and had service fees. Returned iPads within 12 days and it’s now been two months and nothing has been changed on my account.I know instead of sending the products back, they pocketed it.How can iPads just disappear?Omari - corperate is coming for you and your little side kick.
I needed a phone fast Tmobile shut my service off and I needed to keep my number I was paying $70 a month and they set me up with a prepaid acount where I only pay $55 a month now. They were even able to keep my number and use my same phone. Great service and they were very fast and efficient.
Love AT&T, but seriously, no cell service in the store at Colonie Center? No store-provided Wi-Fi either? Step it up AT&T, I love you otherwise, but this needs to be remedied ASAP... I couldnt access the information you wanted me to because I couldnt access the internet... Aside from that, the customer service from the on-site salesmen was great...
AT&T is lucky to have some of the best customer service representatives in the capital district. Whenever I need something Mike Fairchild takes care of it and makes my life a lot easier. As a college basketball coach in the area I need access to text, email, and phone accessories plus I use a variety of AT&T apps. I cant say enough about this store and especially about their workers!
Walked in the store and spoke with Rebecca, the mos hepful person for the time being an att costumer. Very understanding person and answered all my questions clearly. I got 2 new phones and plans within my budget thanks to her. Thanks a million Rebecca. If there was more stars this AT&T store deserves everyone of them. A+++++++++
Just so Google and anyone reading reviews for this store or any store owned by Prime Communications, most of these reviews are done by staff members from the various other att stores owned by Prime Communications. Leadership forces their employees to leave false 5 star reviews for all of their locations, at least in the Northeast. For a period of time they would have employees go into customers phones and leave reviews without their knowledge, and we were coached to make sure to take the phones off of WiFi so there were no red flags. Employees were instructed today on a conference call to report my reviews by the Albany area district manager, Sean Turner. Sean Turner oversees currently 12 of prime communications att stores. I would avoid them at all costs....they include: Catskill, Latham, Stuyvesant plaza, Amsterdam, colonie center, Clifton Park, new paltz, Rotterdam, Brunswick, aviation mall, Wilton mall, and glenville.
Recently upgraded to an HTC Mini at this location, as a data plan is required I asked for the smallest possible one since the majority of the time I plan on using local Wi-Fi. I was told that the lowest price data plan was $20 and offered 300MB worth of data. The Retail Sale Consultant Carly went above and beyond in setting up my account, as my current phone was in an unusable condition and I was cut off from my ability to transfer funds from my bank account to the card I wanted to use. However, upon receiving my first bill I saw that I had been charged $50 for a 5GB data plan. I immediately called to resolve the issue and my miracle worker Carly informed me that it would be taken care of and that I would get a call back confirming the change. This months bill shows the same charge, and any time I call this location my call goes unanswered and is dropped. In total Ive paid $60 more than what I authorized.Uninformed of the option to do so, I logged into the account and manually switched my service down to the 300MB one. I still expect to be credited for the unauthorized $60 I spent on a service that I did not use.
I have been a client of Mike Fairchild for years. His customer service and product knowledge is second to none. He informs me of specials in which I always take advantage of. Mike always has a smile on his face and is pleasant to be around. He is a breath of fresh air in the customer service field. I would venture to say that there is no one in all the wireless stores in the Albany area who can measure up to Mike Fairchild.
The assistant said she can give me a free tablet and didnt bother to mention I had to pay monthly fee and use it for one year. When I came back to cancel it, she said its done and cannot be cancelled. I ended up paying more than $300 including installment, service, and early cancellation fee. Very unethical and unprofessional. All they care about is money.
Stopped in becsuse verizon was closed due to employee went to lunch, killed time takiing to this italian guy which was filked of humor and very likeable guy. The sales rep got me to transfer service and be part of att and not Verizon. Sales rep daniel was awesome thank you.

2022-05-24Staff could be more knowledgeable. Ive been there a few times and they told me to call corporate because they couldnt help. I signed up for a discounted plan and they never enrolled me into it, and then had to do back and forth with corporate for the mext few months trying to sort it out. It eventually worked out, but it was corporatebwho helped, and the store just deferred all responsibility.

2022-08-09I went to the store and told my plan is 50 per month but the invoice I received is actually 120 a month! The guy just wanted upsell the plan for commission but without telling me the truth! Will never come to this place again!

2021-11-03Spoke to a woman twice on the phone today. Let her know I was going to come in to get the only iPhone 13 they had left. Get there 20 minutes later and the store is locked and noone is to be found. Spoke with customer service and they said “yeah she must’ve been covering a shift for someone else she didn’t even clock in or out” Not a great look. Think I’ll be sticking to T-Mobile.

2021-01-29I was on the brink of switching over to a new carrier after dozens of automated calls that were eventually disconnected before the representative was able to resolve my issue. I was being charged the wrong amount on my monthly bill, and needed assistance changing this along with other things on my account.I contacted the manager at this location, Justin, who was able to resolve the issues almost immediately and treated me with nothing but the best customer service. Not only did he help me, but I sent my brother to him directly the next day for help with a SIM card issue. He handled it immediately and again with amazing customer service. I feel confident sending my friends and family directly to Justin because I know he will handle their issues with attentiveness and treat them as valuable customers (something that seems unimportant to most big companies). This company is very lucky to have someone who is so attentive!

2021-07-01Summary:•Do NOT go to an AT&T authorized dealer; go directly to an AT&T store•You can only pay for a phone outright at the Apple store•Do NOT believe information about recalls unless you see them online beforehand•Avoid the authorized AT&T dealer at Stuyvesant Plaza at all costsStores involved:•AT&T Authorized dealer, Stuyvesant Plaza, Albany NY•AT&T Store, 1 Crossgates Mall Road, Albany, NY•Apple Store, Crossgates Mall, Albany, NYInteraction: I went to get a new iPhone 12 mini from an AT&T authorized dealer on the afternoon of June 30th 2021. At the store, I was helped by Brittany, the stores sole worker that day. When I asked her about getting the iPhone 12 mini, she told me that they had been recalled, and she was unable to sell me one. When I attempted to trade my phone in for the iPhone 12, she told me that my plan would not allow such a trade in, and that switching to a different plan that would allow it would be more expensive. Finally, when I asked about paying for the phone outright, she reported to me that it could only be paid over installments over several months. I then declined to get the phone there, and she told me that I could go to a corporate AT&T office at Crossgates mall to see if I would have better luck there. At the AT&T store at Crossgates mall, I met a very helpful representative Jason Campbell. When I asked him the same questions, he told me that the iPhone 12 mini had not been recalled, and that he was confused by that assertion. When we went to purchase the iPhone 12 mini from him, we had found that Brittany had actually already charged me for an iPhone 12 that I had not received or authorized. She had also in the process disabled my phone, making it impossible to make any phone calls. Using another phone, I was able to call Brittany back, and tell her directly to reverse the charge and to reactivate my phone. She declined to do so, telling me that I should call customer support. I told her that since she had deactivated my phone, I was unable to do that. I gave the phone to Jason, who told her the same thing, and then she hung up on Jason. Jason was able to get in touch with customer support, and cancelled the order, and reactivated my phone. Brittany then called back, stating that she was trying to reverse the charge, and then hung up on me again. Jason was able to fix her mistakes and reported to me that several other individuals had had trouble from other AT&T authorized dealers that day. He did however confirm that I could not buy the phone outright and advised that I go to the Apple store in the mall to purchase it there.I was able to go to the Apple store and purchase line new iPhone 12 mini and keep it on my same plan. Two different Apple representatives confirmed that there was no recall on the iPhone 12 mini. This review is reflection of both the incompetence of Brittany at the AT&T retailer in Stuyvesant Plaza, and the exemplary work and patience of Jason Campbell from the AT&T store at Crossgates mall. I hope this review will be reflective of the mismanagement, erroneous information, and deceitful behavior by Brittany, as well as reflection of the exemplary effort and crisis management that Jason Campbell was able to perform. I hope this review helps others in a similar situation and provides fodder to the fact that there are clearly issues with AT&T authorized dealers outside of the AT&T corporate store system.

2020-12-12Great customer service. The manager Justin is such a nice guy and takes the time to make sure you have a great experience. He helped me switch from another company and was able to put a discount on my account so it was more affordable. This location will most surely be my go to at&t location!

2019-10-08I went today to get my daughters phone fixed after it was stolen. I was so happy that Darion was there to help. His customer service is phenomenal!! I haven’t had this level of service in years!! He went above an beyond for me and my daughter. And was also just as nice and detailed about the products to every customer that walked through that door. I sat there as our phones were being updated and just listened to how well he worked. I absolutely love how he treats his customers. AT&T this young man is doing an EXCELLENT JOB, at his job.Thank you again for such awesome great customer service.

2020-04-04I went there today around 11 AM with my mother to get a phone bought online to get activated. There was a sign posted on the door 1 customer at a time so my mother and I waited patiently outside the door in the alcove. There were 2 employees in the store and 1 customer leaning against the wall. Not once did we bother them by knocking on the door to see how long the wait might be. Neither employee acknowledged us. One of the employees, Austin, sat at the entrance table with his back to use for 20 plus minutes while we waited playing games on a tablet while his cell phone charged. My mother, who is over 70 wondered aloud to me how much longer do I think the wait would be. Again the front door was never opened or even knocked on. I replied that it looked that they did not know what they were doing as Austin kept getting up and going to the back with different boxes and trying to charge or process different company card or authorization cards. Austin then came to the door opened it for the 1st time and said he is the manager and is tired of our complaining and told us to leave as he was refusing us service. Again we were outside, waiting patiently conversationally complaining on how long(without a hey it will take another xys minutes please wait kindly) it might take, we never knocked on the door. Austin than said that if we did not leave he would call the police and have us arrested. At that point we told him to do so. We also called the police as Austin refused to give us his name as at that point we would share with his higher ups and their higher ups and their higher ups with how professional and hospitable he was, He is a short stout man with blondish hair and a wedding band. The police came and told us that the business has a right to refuse service but would serve us if we, the customers, would apologize for complaining. We politely told the officers no we would not apologize as we did nothing wrong. Again Austin is their manager . A manager for a cell phone franchise who turns customers away for complaining. Avoid this business and franchise as they do not deserve to be in business if they continue to employ horrid workers such as Austin.

2020-06-13Sleazy and unprofessional, they just want to upsell you on a plan so they can get their commissions. They are NOT an actual AT&T store, but an authorized reseller that uses the AT&T logo as their business sign. Also: notice how many 5 star reviewers below have only ever written 1 review i.e. the one for this store. I wonder how much they had to pay for all those 5 star reviews. Read all the one star reviews below that.I called to find out if I could buy an Iphone SE there to replace the one that had broken. “We can’t disclose our inventory over the phone, you have to come in. Company policy.” Fine I thought, they’re wary of competitors calling them to scope out pricing, so I drive over. The lone salesperson is on the phone . “One second,” he says, and continues a lengthy conversation trying to log into an account. 5 minutes later, I ask how long this will take. “2 minutes,” he says, “I’m talking with my boss.” So Im going to get a total of 7 minutes breathing in the atmosphere, great. By the way his idea of wearing a mask is to have it around his chin so he can speak more easily. A few minutes later he pushes the mask up over his lips and asks me what he can do for me. (I guess you only need to actually wear the mask if the person youre talking to is a customer.) I say that I need to buy an SE to replace the broken one. “We don’t sell just phones, only with contracts and payment plans. You’d need to go to an actual AT&T store if you just want to buy the phone.” When I mention that this has been a humongous waste of my time and that I’d like to speak with a manager, he tells me he IS the store manager. OK, so what’s the number of your boss — the person you were just talking to — so I can ask him how this could be prevented in the future. “I can’t give you his contact info, company policy.” No joke. For a small shop, they have a lot of policies. So can your manager call me then? I ask.“I’ll take your number, but I can’t guarantee he’ll call.”I guess we’ll see. Meanwhile I’m contacting AT&T to see if they have any recourse for scammy resellers pretending to represent them.
