Staff could be more knowledgeable. Ive been there a few times and they told me to call corporate because they couldnt help. I signed up for a discounted plan and they never enrolled me into it, and then had to do back and forth with corporate for the mext few months trying to sort it out. It eventually worked out, but it was corporatebwho helped, and the store just deferred all responsibility.

I went to the store and told my plan is 50 per month but the invoice I received is actually 120 a month! The guy just wanted upsell the plan for commission but without telling me the truth! Will never come to this place again!

Spoke to a woman twice on the phone today. Let her know I was going to come in to get the only iPhone 13 they had left. Get there 20 minutes later and the store is locked and noone is to be found. Spoke with customer service and they said “yeah she must’ve been covering a shift for someone else she didn’t even clock in or out” Not a great look. Think I’ll be sticking to T-Mobile.

I was on the brink of switching over to a new carrier after dozens of automated calls that were eventually disconnected before the representative was able to resolve my issue. I was being charged the wrong amount on my monthly bill, and needed assistance changing this along with other things on my account.I contacted the manager at this location, Justin, who was able to resolve the issues almost immediately and treated me with nothing but the best customer service. Not only did he help me, but I sent my brother to him directly the next day for help with a SIM card issue. He handled it immediately and again with amazing customer service. I feel confident sending my friends and family directly to Justin because I know he will handle their issues with attentiveness and treat them as valuable customers (something that seems unimportant to most big companies). This company is very lucky to have someone who is so attentive!

Summary:•Do NOT go to an AT&T authorized dealer; go directly to an AT&T store•You can only pay for a phone outright at the Apple store•Do NOT believe information about recalls unless you see them online beforehand•Avoid the authorized AT&T dealer at Stuyvesant Plaza at all costsStores involved:•AT&T Authorized dealer, Stuyvesant Plaza, Albany NY•AT&T Store, 1 Crossgates Mall Road, Albany, NY•Apple Store, Crossgates Mall, Albany, NYInteraction: I went to get a new iPhone 12 mini from an AT&T authorized dealer on the afternoon of June 30th 2021. At the store, I was helped by Brittany, the stores sole worker that day. When I asked her about getting the iPhone 12 mini, she told me that they had been recalled, and she was unable to sell me one. When I attempted to trade my phone in for the iPhone 12, she told me that my plan would not allow such a trade in, and that switching to a different plan that would allow it would be more expensive. Finally, when I asked about paying for the phone outright, she reported to me that it could only be paid over installments over several months. I then declined to get the phone there, and she told me that I could go to a corporate AT&T office at Crossgates mall to see if I would have better luck there. At the AT&T store at Crossgates mall, I met a very helpful representative Jason Campbell. When I asked him the same questions, he told me that the iPhone 12 mini had not been recalled, and that he was confused by that assertion. When we went to purchase the iPhone 12 mini from him, we had found that Brittany had actually already charged me for an iPhone 12 that I had not received or authorized. She had also in the process disabled my phone, making it impossible to make any phone calls. Using another phone, I was able to call Brittany back, and tell her directly to reverse the charge and to reactivate my phone. She declined to do so, telling me that I should call customer support. I told her that since she had deactivated my phone, I was unable to do that. I gave the phone to Jason, who told her the same thing, and then she hung up on Jason. Jason was able to get in touch with customer support, and cancelled the order, and reactivated my phone. Brittany then called back, stating that she was trying to reverse the charge, and then hung up on me again. Jason was able to fix her mistakes and reported to me that several other individuals had had trouble from other AT&T authorized dealers that day. He did however confirm that I could not buy the phone outright and advised that I go to the Apple store in the mall to purchase it there.I was able to go to the Apple store and purchase line new iPhone 12 mini and keep it on my same plan. Two different Apple representatives confirmed that there was no recall on the iPhone 12 mini. This review is reflection of both the incompetence of Brittany at the AT&T retailer in Stuyvesant Plaza, and the exemplary work and patience of Jason Campbell from the AT&T store at Crossgates mall. I hope this review will be reflective of the mismanagement, erroneous information, and deceitful behavior by Brittany, as well as reflection of the exemplary effort and crisis management that Jason Campbell was able to perform. I hope this review helps others in a similar situation and provides fodder to the fact that there are clearly issues with AT&T authorized dealers outside of the AT&T corporate store system.

Great customer service. The manager Justin is such a nice guy and takes the time to make sure you have a great experience. He helped me switch from another company and was able to put a discount on my account so it was more affordable. This location will most surely be my go to at&t location!

I went today to get my daughters phone fixed after it was stolen. I was so happy that Darion was there to help. His customer service is phenomenal!! I haven’t had this level of service in years!! He went above an beyond for me and my daughter. And was also just as nice and detailed about the products to every customer that walked through that door. I sat there as our phones were being updated and just listened to how well he worked. I absolutely love how he treats his customers. AT&T this young man is doing an EXCELLENT JOB, at his job.Thank you again for such awesome great customer service.

I went there today around 11 AM with my mother to get a phone bought online to get activated. There was a sign posted on the door 1 customer at a time so my mother and I waited patiently outside the door in the alcove. There were 2 employees in the store and 1 customer leaning against the wall. Not once did we bother them by knocking on the door to see how long the wait might be. Neither employee acknowledged us. One of the employees, Austin, sat at the entrance table with his back to use for 20 plus minutes while we waited playing games on a tablet while his cell phone charged. My mother, who is over 70 wondered aloud to me how much longer do I think the wait would be. Again the front door was never opened or even knocked on. I replied that it looked that they did not know what they were doing as Austin kept getting up and going to the back with different boxes and trying to charge or process different company card or authorization cards. Austin then came to the door opened it for the 1st time and said he is the manager and is tired of our complaining and told us to leave as he was refusing us service. Again we were outside, waiting patiently conversationally complaining on how long(without a hey it will take another xys minutes please wait kindly) it might take, we never knocked on the door. Austin than said that if we did not leave he would call the police and have us arrested. At that point we told him to do so. We also called the police as Austin refused to give us his name as at that point we would share with his higher ups and their higher ups and their higher ups with how professional and hospitable he was, He is a short stout man with blondish hair and a wedding band. The police came and told us that the business has a right to refuse service but would serve us if we, the customers, would apologize for complaining. We politely told the officers no we would not apologize as we did nothing wrong. Again Austin is their manager . A manager for a cell phone franchise who turns customers away for complaining. Avoid this business and franchise as they do not deserve to be in business if they continue to employ horrid workers such as Austin.

Sleazy and unprofessional, they just want to upsell you on a plan so they can get their commissions. They are NOT an actual AT&T store, but an authorized reseller that uses the AT&T logo as their business sign. Also: notice how many 5 star reviewers below have only ever written 1 review i.e. the one for this store. I wonder how much they had to pay for all those 5 star reviews. Read all the one star reviews below that.I called to find out if I could buy an Iphone SE there to replace the one that had broken. “We can’t disclose our inventory over the phone, you have to come in. Company policy.” Fine I thought, they’re wary of competitors calling them to scope out pricing, so I drive over. The lone salesperson is on the phone . “One second,” he says, and continues a lengthy conversation trying to log into an account. 5 minutes later, I ask how long this will take. “2 minutes,” he says, “I’m talking with my boss.” So Im going to get a total of 7 minutes breathing in the atmosphere, great. By the way his idea of wearing a mask is to have it around his chin so he can speak more easily. A few minutes later he pushes the mask up over his lips and asks me what he can do for me. (I guess you only need to actually wear the mask if the person youre talking to is a customer.) I say that I need to buy an SE to replace the broken one. “We don’t sell just phones, only with contracts and payment plans. You’d need to go to an actual AT&T store if you just want to buy the phone.” When I mention that this has been a humongous waste of my time and that I’d like to speak with a manager, he tells me he IS the store manager. OK, so what’s the number of your boss — the person you were just talking to — so I can ask him how this could be prevented in the future. “I can’t give you his contact info, company policy.” No joke. For a small shop, they have a lot of policies. So can your manager call me then? I ask.“I’ll take your number, but I can’t guarantee he’ll call.”I guess we’ll see. Meanwhile I’m contacting AT&T to see if they have any recourse for scammy resellers pretending to represent them.
