Atlantica in other cities:
Been here a few times. I enjoyed the space, its comfortable, and the view overlooking the ocean is wonderful. Service was good and the meals I had were very good. Note: one meal I had the lobster roll which others have panned...not to discount their comments but I found it fresh and good. Anyway, if lobster is not your thing they have a nice varied menu. Next to the restaurant they have an attractive bar area.
I get that its hard times in Covid but my luxurious breakfast that I thought I was going to have turned out to be a flop. My poor waiter was the ONLY server and he mentioned there was only one cook too. The person who was working the front was also helping serve food and cater to the customers needs. It was a little late in the morning and they ran out of the main ingredient for our order. After waiting 30 minutes for them to tell us they couldnt make our original order, we waited another 15 minutes for our substitute order. The omelette came out with no cheese (very dry and tasteless) and the pancakes were good but was served with one little container of syrup with no butter. We waited another 5 minutes for more syrup. It was disappointing. It wasnt our waiters fault that the service was bad and the food was lackluster.
Okay so ... I am a frequent visitor of Long Beach, I have eaten at Atlantica over several years. My most recent visit was in August, 2021. I gave the restaurant an automatic three star rating in this review because of its location (I really wanted to give it five stars for that reason alone, but I digress). The other two stars, not given, reflected the snarky attitude of one of the bartenders who was on the phone telling someone that he had to work a double shift (he was not too pleased and it showed in more ways than one). All I can say is, the level of service is not the same since original ownership changed hands a few years ago.
The view of the ocean and the ambiance are equally breath taking. The service was extremely disorganized (7/3) as the servers appeared overwhelmed and unsure of what tables were already acknowledged, or had orders taken. A very young waitress who was new to the establishment gave stellar customer service, despite her novice. The alcoholic beverages were watered down, both myself and my date were unimpressed with the quality and flavor. Of note is that our meals were cooked to perfection, and the presentations were eye catching. We went to the bar/meat market for after dinner cocktails and the selection was limited, so we had beer instead. We fell in love with the view, the ambiance and the meal, but decided we wouldnt return.
Simply the worst experience. I made a reservation a month ago and they double booked my group of 10 people. We set by the bar with horrible service. The manager, Mike Frey, needs to learn hospitality and customer service 101. The staff was very inexperience and unable to provide basic service to our group. The list of issues is quite extensive and as a manager he should have handled the situation much better. Asking the staff to lie about his name, walking away when a customer is expressing their discontent about the issues during the dinner service, to not knowing how to apologize was very frustrating. I will not only go back, I will never recommend this place. Other guests from adjacent tables were joking about how the their experience has been equally negative. I hope upper management take a closer look at their restaurant customer service as I guarantee this is not an isolated issue.
I went to the restaurant tonight and I am very upset because they get the tip on the top of the tip committing frode they get a 40%tip and I am disgusted from that! . The restaurant is very beautiful, I love the space and the furniture. The food is good. The waiter David was very bad. We waited 30 minutes for a drink, 45 minutes for the appetizers and the same for the wine that we asked for 3 times and he looked totally disoriented. At the end of this 2 hours and 30 minutes long dinner that could have been a 30 minutes dinner, I had to call David asking him for the check. He gave us a total sum with the lower line asking for the tip .We tipped 20% but because last week I went there and they just gave me the total, without a list of what we ordered, I decided to ask him for the list of food that we ordered.David gave me the total list after seeing me standing alone in front of the kitchen for 10 minutes and when I saw the total it had already added 18% tip. The total with the tip was 229 dollars on top of that we had given an extra 45 dollars. So I asked him to return me the 45 dollars because they had already taken the 18% tip.He told me that it was not his fault and it was a POLICY of the restaurant to tip TWiCE.there was nothing he could do to give the money back.a 40%tip is a scam.I am disgusted for how low these people can go
Awful experience. Service was incredibly slow. Think the staff was overwhelmed but unacceptable service. Management do better. Food was questionable and overpriced. Small portions. Menu was pathetic. Recommend eating anywhere else nearby. Do not give this place your money. It will be wasted. Pretty sure all these other reviews are bought and paid for. Don’t be fooled. It’s not a place worth eating. At best grab and beer and run.Really a shame cause the location is great but that does not allow you to run an embarrassment of an establishment.
The bar and dining is not so bad.. Its the hotel stay in experience that is so disappointing! ($500 a night) Besides that fact its way overpriced $$$$$ for an average room that you cant even open a window!, Its poorly managed., the elevator was down with no accommodation and that was the least of my worries lol cant make it up. Good luck amigos
ZERO stars all the way (Google makes me put at least one star)!! Stay clear....wait staff is slow and unfriendly, the bartender makes the worst drinks and the Manager Mike is non-existent when you have a problem (which there are many)!! If the food was good, I might have given one star, but food was terrible. The only thing that keeps this place in business is the location....other than that its a misery!!!
Very disappointed in the restaurant. The service at the restaurant was horrible. The server didn’t seem like he knew what he was doing. We waited a long time to get our drinks and food. The food tasted bad and we couldn’t eat it. We told the server that the food was burnt and the other dish was missing some of the items mentioned on the menu. The hotel is just ok for the price.I wouldn’t recommend eating at the restaurant or staying at the hotel. It isn’t what is advertised.
So i came to the alegría hotel to have dinner while watching a Celtics game and i have to say that the Ribeye steak with fingerling potatoes was absolutely delicious and the cheesecake was scrumptious. Also had a virgin piña colada to die for ,Gwendolyn was absolutely delightful and took great care of me. Her service was excellent..
My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here and were completely amazed at the ambiance, all the welcoming and incredibly helpful staff, especially Oliver who made sure we had everything we needed or wanted. Massive hats off to the chef who outdid himself with our meals. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Will definitely be coming back in the future.
It would have been a perfect vacation where it not for Atlantica... First, the waiting staff was extremely slow. We almost missed our train back home because of how slow service was. Secondly, my partner had asked for the shrimp tacos but received the lobster roll instead. When she asked for condiments, it took about 15 minutes, to the point where we just ate the food because it was going to get cold if we waited for the staff to not forget about us. And lastly, like a cherry on top, the wings we ate gave us food poisoning. Being in a pandemic does not mean restaurants should have to sacrifice basic food safety, especially coming from a restaurant hotel. Any other meal we had at other restaurants were divine and delicious, only wish the same could be said about Atlantica.
My friends and I decided to try somewhere new, and College Ave always has a great selection of lesser known venues. A quick glance at Atlantica reviews and photos sold us on making a reservation. The restaurant is pretty small/narrow, but theres a handful of tables and bar seating. When the restaurant is packed, as it was for us, it did feel a bit small but the staff did their best to get groups in an out as efficiently as possible.
Atlantica at Allegria Hotel...god awful. Eat somewhere else. There are many restaurants to chose from but we were staying at the Allegria so why not eat there. This place is suppose to be high class but there is nothing high class about the restaurant or the hotel. It was a slow Monday night. We got Gin and tonics to drink. Not sure what kind of Gin that was but it didnt even taste like Gin. Not even the lowest well Gin. We didnt ask for Tangurey or Bombay so we didnt complain. They didnt have a big selection of food. We ordered crab cake sliders first. They were good. Then we got the the lobster roll to share which came with French fries. It was inedible. It had a licorice flavor that we both tasted. So we ate all the fries. Oh and we ordered a small pepperoni pizza and that was ok.We told our waitress, Paige, about the lobster roll. She said ok Ill let the chef know. Now I know she didnt cook the food so her tip wasnt affected...yet. She didnt come back until we called her over to ask for the check about 5-10 min later. The check had the lobster roll on it which we were absolutely not going to pay for since we didnt eat it. So we had to call her back over and ask if they could remove the roll. She took the check back and removed the lobster roll but they charged us for fries we ate. What is that about??? At that point I didnt even care about the fries. The manager never came over to apologize or say anything. Ive worked in many restaurants and I would never treat customers like this and I tip very well because Ive worked in this industry but in the end Paiges tip was affected. Basically we paid $60 for crab cake sliders, a tiny pizza, french fries and two gin and tonics. I would have rather gone to a pizzeria for food and then to a bar for a beer instead but we wanted to sit down at a restaurant. The next morning we ate there for breakfast because we heard really good things about their breakfast. That was dumb. We should have gone somewhere else considering our dinner experience but we thought we would try it. Coffee cups on the table were dirty along with the water glasses. The buffet was just eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes and oatmeal. Small bagels and croissants that were hard. But for $14 each I guess you get what you pay for. The breakfast wasnt as bad as dinner but since we heard how great the breakfast was we were disappointed. The coffee was good though. I wouldnt ever go back here and I will deter anyone who is thinking about eating or staying here.
It was the first warm beautiful day and we decided to go to Long Beach. We often go to the Allegria for lunch or dinner. I was looking forward to a delicious lobster roll. My friend and I both ordered Lobster rolls. They werent the usual pink color they were gray color. They tasted like poison and we both spit it out . The waiter said that hell get us something else he didnt say Im sorry its spoiled your right anything like that. We both had a terrible taste in our mouth from the lobster roll and ask for some bread. We were told there is no bread until dinner when they bake it fresh. We look over and we see a bunch of people with fresh rolls on the table who must be staying at the hotel with a convention. When I pointed this out we were reluctantly given a few rolls. We were then given a choice of ordering something else. After the lobster roll experience we were reluctant to order anything else that was on the menu because it was all fish or Seafood. We both went with a chop salad. Even that wasnt very good. The waiter said he was covering out meal and did not give us a check. I dont think I would return even though I love the view sitting by the window watching the ocean and people walking on the boardwalk. I was told its a new owner so maybe they have to work out some bugs.
Went here mid September was still a nice time to go to the beach, it wasnt a busy time when I went, they had just opened the restaurant for dinner (5pm). We enjoyed browsing through an amazing collection of wines from all over the world. That was an experience itself! We were seated right next to the boardwalk which provided a nice seating to people watch. They didnt have much vegetarian options on the menu, but when we made some modifications to their pasta. The server was great, my date and I were taken to their wine room. We were able to choose from their collection--some wines werent on the menu. We originally chose a napa wine, but we changed our mind and the server was most accommodating and brought us a superb Malbec. Our bottle was a bit more than the napa bottle we originally picked, but we were charged the amount of the napa wine. Our food was tasty. I am mainly giving them a high rating for their amazing wine collection and the servers attentiveness. The manager came and greeted us a few times, towards the end. It was almost annoying because he came by a few times to interrupt our conversation. Other than that, I wouldnt mind coming back to grab another bottle of wine. If youre a real wine lover, youll appreciate their extensive wine collection. Youll also appreciate the cool beach/causal vibe of the restaurant. Its a nice place to chill after the beach. Ive already recommended this place to a couple people.
We had brunch here today for a special occasion and it was lovely. Salmon, lamb, General Taos chicken, steak, eggplant, shrimp cocktail, tomato/Mozzarella, Caesar salad, omelette station, French toast, seasoned potatoes, and amazing amazing desserts- cheese cake, carrot cake, chocolate cake, black-and-white cookies, rainbow cookies and fudge squares ! The decor was beautiful. The mirrors gave everyone a great view of the ocean. Mimosas were perfect a balance of champagne and orange juice. Starbucks coffee!! Definitely recommend !!
Not that great. We were there for an early breakfast Party of two and we were refused a table by the window. Those tables were for four people only. Even though other parties of two were sat at tables for four. When we complained we were shut down by the Hostess/Manager. Maybe she should go back to Managerial 101 school. We should have left right there and then. She had her opinion and voiced it loudly. But we tried to salvage our breakfast. Second the food. We had the buffet. Standard swill. Certainly nothing special. We fought for the last peice of fruit. Waited on line for 10 minutes to get to the only toaster to toast bread. Third the service. Can we get juice? Can we get tea? Then 10 minutes for waiter to come back. Yes we need milk. Yes we need sugar. Another 15 minutes go by waiting for waiter to return. Yes we need more sugar. I actually got up and went wandering around scrounging sugar from other patrons. Overall. Dont bother. Yes, nice location on the boardwalk and the ocean. If you go, make sure you are a group of four and bring your own toaster and bring your own sugar. And perhaps a bell to ring for the waiter.
H O R R I B L E. My friend just recently moved near this restaurant. Another friend of mine, said that the food is delicious and the view is gorgeous. There was 12 people in our party. We had several handicapped guest. When we arrived around 6:15 for dinner, the hostess (who I might add was very busy talking on her cell phone) said that the restaurant would NOT be serving dinner until 6:30. We told her that would be fine, but perhaps there are accommodations for our handicapped guests. She quickly snapped, no, there are no accommodations. She told us, we could wait in the lobby until they opened. I thought ALL BUSINESSES IN NEW YORK STATE have to accommodate handicapped guests. There was no one else waiting for a table or in the dining room. We left. I will NEVER go back to the Allegria Hotel, or their dining room (restaurant). They are poorly managed. There are tons of great restaurants in the area. The majority of the other restaurants are more than happy to accommodate handicapped guests.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary with dinner at Atlantica last night. We were very disappointed. I had made reservations a week in advance and requested a table by the windows for an ocean view. When we arrived all the tables by the window were filled even though there open tables thru out the restaurant. Instead we were seated where the ocean view was obstructed until I pointed to another table that was unoccupied with the view I requested. We ordered a bottle of wine, which they poured for us and placed in a bucket with ice on the other side of the table. The came back to refill our glass one time. Unfortunately, half way thru our meal, we lost the service. I had to get up to retrieve the wine and pour our own. When we finished our meal we waited 15 minutes before WE had to ask for a dessert menu and waited another 10-15 minutes before the waiter returned to take our order. at this point we had had enough and asked for the check. We waited another 10 minutes and had to request for the check again! When it finally came we informed the waiter of our total displeasure in the service. His excuse was that they were very understaffed even though it didnt seem that busy. He did compensate us for our displeasure in service, but I will have second thoughts before going back to celebrate any occasion there again
Days before going for breakfast buffet I called for prices. Woman at the phone told me the price/person. Me and 2 guests went for breakfast. When I received the bill was kind a high. I thought that my math skills were not too good. I paid. When I got home I called to ask again the price/person for breakfast buffet cause I couldnt stop thinking about it. They told me a higher amount: $9.00 more/person on top of the amount that I had been informed days before. The receipt only showed the full amount to be pay. It doesnt explained # of orders and price/order. Bottom line: BOTH PRICES (prior and post the bill) WERE GIVEN OVER THE PHONE: the question is: WHICH WAS THE REAL ONE?. Guess what? too late to find out: the restaurant cancel breakfast buffet 2 days after I was there. Dishonest, Cheap food (this has nothing to do with the bill issue but a Chain Food Restaurant or the Dinner around the corner would had had better food) employers not properly trained, whatever: but anyone knows the name for this kind of action.
The place is great once you are in. Unless you are a guest or a local , the place would go incognito. No signs, impossible boardwalk walkers seetrru frosted windows. Once you are in and settled t the bar , its game on. Music is good and Jaxtrix on Sundays is reggae at its best. Have to see and hear this guy. Someday soon you will be paying hundreds to see him perform.
Worst experience of my life !!! No service at allWaited 20 mins just to get water and menusThen another 15 mins for the server to come say “what do you want to eat ?”. Only nice thing about the place is the view. The rest is total rubbish and nonsense, food was cold, late and bland, soggy burger. Pathetic that a place like this has no management!
We are giving 1 star to this restaurant due to its horrible management. They do not even deserve the 1 star. My husband and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try out this restaurant with a Living Social voucher. If we liked it we would be very good customers since we often are visiting in laws across the street who enjoy babysitting our children. The hotel made it very difficult to use this voucher throughout its 3 month period. We tried to use for the Saturday after Valentines Day and were told that the whole weekend was a Valentines pre-fix so they wouldnt accept it. I spoke to a surly manager who said he could not extend the promotion past the expiration date because he wouldnt be able to get his $. This is actually a lie. I found out from Living Social they have to honor what you actually paid for 5 years. They do not have to honor the promotion but he made it seem like we couldnt use our original $50. And really if the paid value doesnt expire for 5 years then he can get the $ and really doesnt want to honor the promo. We tried to go the Monday after Valentines Day and were told that even though it wasnt a pre-fix we could not use our voucher on that day because it was considered a holiday. The voucher does not say it cannot be used on the weekend or holidays. When I asked to speak to a manager they never called me back. The Atlantica AND the Allegria has lost our business permanently. I would rather spend our $ at a business that runs itself as a business.
Where do I begin???I had purchased a TRAVELZOO voucher and used it earlier this year. First I was charged for the entire bill before the $100 voucher was deducted, i never noticed this until after I arriveed back home. I phoned the restaurant numerous times over the next two weeks only to be shuffled from the manager to the accounting department and now I discovered that the restaurant has made an unauthorized charge to my credit card, so besides not receiving my credit fot the TRAVELZOO voucher they have banged my card for more money. DONT WASTE YOU MONEY ON PURCHASING A TRAVELZOO VOUCHER OR DINING AT THE ATLANTICA, BOTH HAVE NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT.
The interior actually looks worse than the picture. The waiters are not the most polite in the area, why? Because the client contingent is going to be like that. My personal opinion! This is the place where Americans gather on the weekend for a grand binge. If you like such events, then you can stop by. There are two pluses. You can order very fresh seafood. And again, the ocean is behind glass, a hundred meters from the restaurant.

2022-02-16My wife and I decided to enjoy the warm January day and stroll the boardwalk in Long Beach. Since we were hungry, we decided to grab a bite at the Atlantic Hotels restaurant. Usually I’m a bit leery of hotel restaurants. The food tends to be so so and overpriced.I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent food and service. I came in with my baby stroller and they immediately found us seating to accommodate it. The staff was friendly and attentive, refilling our drinks without us having to ask. My hamburger was perfect and delicious. My wife loved her chicken wrap and the French fries were fantastic. Just the right crunch and salt.I’d eat there again.

2022-05-31Lovely setting, right on the Long Beach Boardwalk. Drinks are Good! Food is pretty good too. They do get busy and crowded on nice Summer days so just be patient. I do wish they would open up the patio doors onto the boardwalk, so as to get ocean breezes.

2021-10-10Nice view in the restaurant. Friendly staff. Did not have good experience with the food. I ordered lobster roll and Got food poisoning and not sure how fresh the food is. It wasn’t all that great. The fries were cold too.

2022-04-14Location is great with ocean view, service is great as well.Lets talk about the food, we stayed at the hotel 7 days and tried a big part of the menu. Burger is good, not mind-blowing but Id take it again, the chicken burger is surprisingly tasty for being a chicken burgher, desserts are all good, the salmon is ok. The big, big disappointment was the steak.. price was 47$ for 20oz so I was expecting at least a good steak-house level (to give a comparison, Wolfgangs filet mignon is 44 and prime ribeye is 55$). Sadly had very little taste. Meat consistency was decent, but I cannot believe that was a prime cut

2022-03-27Was not very impressed with the food. The servers were the best part of the experience. They made sure we were well taken care of. The food was not the best. The ribeye tasted like it was microwaved and then seared. It was also not made to the right temperature that we ordered.

2022-05-30This is about the restaurant. We waited for more than an hour to get served cold French fries and overcooked burger steaks. An incredibly high price for very low quality food. Avoid this place if you can.

2020-03-11Perhaps it was because it is the off season when we visited but overall was a disappointing experience. The pizza oven apparently was out of order; sure we can live with that. The tuna in our Tuna Crudo tasted like the tuna was melted with warm/hot water from the freezer, leaving the fish it self with unpleasant smells not even the sauce could cover up. The staff were fine with us returning the dish though, thankfully. The Buccatini with Clam Sauce was serviceable at best, though there was little clam taste to be felt. The amount of clam that was inside the pasta also made us wonder if they used frozen clam meats. All the food came out at the same time but I think that was more the kitchens fault rather than the service. The service we received was very attentive and caring. Unlike the service, it just felt like the kitchen wasnt expecting anybody to visit. Perhaps it would be a better experience to visit the restaurant when the weather warms up more.

2021-06-07Nice place but the food is highly over priced for the quality. Ive eaten dry pasta with more flavor, we sent ours back, my burger was dry, too much salt on fries - would probably have high blood pressure had I continued to eat it, oh and you call that a charcuterie board...some dried fruit, couple pieces of meat that looked like youd buy at Costco in those sealed packs and flattened bread and they arent ashamed. Would only have drinks there...thats it. On the positive, the staff/service was good.

2022-07-08Our waitress was super friendly but unfortunately the new menu was very limited and on top of that they were out of every crab item on the menu and some drinks...

2019-07-22If you come to Long Beach, I highly recommend grabbing lunch at this restaurant located within the posh Allegria Hotel. The restaurant has floor to ceiling glass windows with a beautiful view of the boardwalk and the beach. There’s a full bar area which I like to sit out and order drinks and food. There’s also a more high-end restaurant if you go further back where you could do a more formal sitdown. The bar area was perfectly if you’re going to the beach. Winds here are reasonably price, and they have a nanny that include anything from steam mussels to Pizza to Sally’s. The staff is very friendly. Overall a beautiful place for a quiet lunch.
