This will be our second year living at the Avalon. After happily and unexpectedly selling our home we needed a temporary place to live. Lucky for us a realtor recommended the Avalon. It has truly been a wonderful experience for my husband and I.We can easily see why many residents choose to never leave. We have only good things to say about the staff. Amy and Stefanie, and the maintenance staff among others have made living here an enjoyment. All of our needs have always been taken care of in a timely fashion. The staff is friendly and very capable. Safety, is a very important issue for me and I have to say that not once have I ever had a concern and that includes the parking garage which is well lit and always has someone coming or going. The pool is very upbeat and inviting and well taken care of.Of course, the concierge is an added bonus. I could go on. Although, my husband and I are moving on I will always remember the Avalon as a very positive and happy experience.
I just relocated to Avalon at Glen Cove and I must comment. The move was very stressful but the team at 1100 Avalon Square made me feel at ease immediately. Kelvin and his staff were there to familiarize me with my new home. They checked out the entire apartment. Kelvin explained all the workings of the buildings security and who to contact if a problem arises. Kelvin and his staff are available as needed. Kelvin is an asset to the Avalon community. This is my new home. I would also recognize Danielle and Lindsay they are professionals. They made my decision to move to Avalon Glen Cove a must. Some minor issues were addressed effectively and professionally by Harrison in the maintenance department. Harrison is new to Avalon Glen Cove and he is a super find for the Avalon maintenance department.
I needed my fridge to be looked at as the ice machine was not functioning properly. I placed work order and received notification that someone will take a look at the problem. Within the same day, Harrison came to the apartment assessed the situation and keep me informed of the plan. Needless to say I am quite pleased with the outcome. Harrison is a wonderful person and my pup thinks so too!! thank you
The five starts is most specifically for Harrison! He has been WONDERFUL through issues with our apartment and fixing any issues we have had. ( he also gives our pup lots of love!) Mel and Kelvin have also been super helpful through our stay here at Avalon coming to fix things at all sorts of hours. While I would give a few less stars to management for various reasons, they have helped in many ways to keeping us content with apartment living! Our stay at Avalon has been a great transition into living in New York!
All the leasing office staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to assist us in finding the right apartment for our needs. Nothing was ever too much effort for them. They are all very professional and provide excellent service. We are completely satisfied with the apartment and it is a wonderful place to call home. Thank you Stephanie, Danielle and Lindsay. The maintenance team are amazing! The system to request any maintenance issues is very easy and efficient. Problems are dealt with immediate attention and friendliness. Thank you Kelvin, Ramel and Marlon.
My roommate and I have been living in the Avalon for 9 months now and the maintenance department has been extremely helpful, specifically Ed. He is always very friendly and helpful. Our dishwasher was broken and needed replaced. Ed had the dishwasher ordered the day we had the problem and it was installed immediately after it was received. Ed made sure the dishwasher was put in correctly, he is a very diligent worker and always very patient. We have had a few repairs that needed to be done in our apartment and Ed always went above and beyond to have them fixed.
How we feel about the Avalon in Glen Cove:We moved into a one bedroom apartment in 2017, three months after we married. We weren’t planning to stay more than a year. One year turned into two years, after looking around at other apartment buildings in the area, we decided to make this our home for a little longer. This building is an older building but it feels like home. The staff is quite friendly, kind and warm. All of our needs have been addressed in a timely fashion. It appears they have an awesome team working in this building. We haven’t had any major problems in our apartment. The maintenance team and office staff is on point. Everything is clean and well kept. Staff is professional! My 13 year old daughter loves singing in the aerobics room. She also brings her friends over and practices her dance moves in that same room. I’m not much on Exercising yet I manage to use the gym when I have free time. The indoor parking garage is a nice feature to have (no shoveling snow or worrying about taking in packages when it’s raining)The building is very friendly, nobody make to much noise. Every so often they have activities for the tenants, it’s a good way to meet people in the building. There is always security at the front desk when the office is closed. Showing a leisure pass to security is a good way of weeding out unwanted guess. There are other newer apartment buildings going up in GC ... I’ve visited them all, old ones and new ones. So far the Avalon is number one on our list. Just because something is new doesn’t make it better. We have a beautiful 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment. We absolutely love our master suite. There are several different kinds of apartments in our building. If one doesn’t suit you try another one. Normally I would think we wouldn’t need extra storage but being that we both came from a house before hand we needed it and they provided it.Our favorite feature other than our apartment, garage, and aerobics room would be the pool. We love going swimming when the sun is going down (we aren’t sun people) it’s so relaxing to have a full day out of the building then come back and swim or sit in the heated pool (the temperature is perfect!) it’s also nice on those extra hot days we could go into the pool to cool off, while meeting other tenants by the pool or even have Lunch or dinner by the pool. We take advantage of the grills provided, it’s such a nice feature to have. The building is pet friendly, I haven’t seen any aggressive dogs. You could have parties or gatherings down stairs in the common room (we took advantage of this room on many occasions.) The police stations, post office and library is literally 2 minutes walking distance away. Glen Cove offers outdoor movie night in the village bring your own chair, music night during the summer months alongside pet parades, St. Patty’s parade, Christmas tree lighting and you could walk to the regular movie theater less than 10 minute walk or use the movie room located on the main floor in the building. The location is key not to mention the beaches are all close by. My daughter loves her school and there are after school programs and 2 boys and girls club near by.Update: June2020: Due to the Covid19 we had the option to down size with no fees added. Thanks to staff member (especially Nicole & Lisa) that made this transition beyond easy. Im happy to say we again went into an apartment with a balcony, our very first apartment had one also (we really missed our balcony). We are in a one bedroom den, the den and hallway closets are huge. Everything has been upgraded!!! The ice from the freezer is filtered!!!We love sitting out on our balcony for late night dinner, Breakfast on the balcony or just sitting relaxing listening to music at lunch time. Our family is extremely happy living here. At this point the only down fall is we wish we were closer to the elevator. The only way to know if this is the building for you is to come over and take a look. Good luck searching 😊~Sheila & Mike
I received a warm welcome from Stephanie when I initially visited Avalon at Glen Cove. Stephanie was very positive and knowledgeable about all of the features of each of the apartments she showed me. It was an easy choice for me to move in after seeing the modern appliances in my apartment plus the amenities such as a the pool and gym which I now use regularly. I have moved many times over the last eight years due to my occupation. The staff and maintenance team here at Avalon at Glen Cove have made my transition to life in New York very comfortable. I highly recommend moving here.
Since COVID hit, we were not allowed to see the apartment and had to wait until our actual move in date but they showed us 360 photos and they were so accurate to what our apartment looked like once we actually were able to move in so it was a huge relief. One downside was that once we moved in, there were some faults with our apartment and the biggest one being no AC.. it was about 2-weeks until it got fixed and never got updated about when it would be done until we asked multiple times. On top of that, it was weeks of 70-80 degree weather with us working from home and our dog being in the apartment. Finally a week+ in they gave us a portable AC unit but it only cooled our bedroom. They didnt do much to compensate us or give us an explanation as to why this was not checked before we moved in.Otherwise, living at the Avalon is nice, it is a clean building with nice people and in a great area. A nice plus is that they have an amazon box center thing where we can pickup and drop off packages so it makes returning amazon items very easy.
This apt building is great! Front desk is beyond helpful (shout out to Nicole Massa and I can’t rember the other two - Miranda and Emma?)... The apartments are all modern and they all have a washer and dryer inside… Management does a really good job organizing at least one social event every two weeks which is a great way to meet your neighbors. Common spaces are super clean and everyone I’ve met in this building has been super friendly and nice. I’ve been really happy with my experience there.. every time I had a question about anything, it was promptly answered via email or in person. I highly recommend this as a place to live!
The community consultant, Emma Chernoff, has been amazing, she is very kind, and has been extremely helpful throughout my experience at the Avalon. From the rental agreement, to showing me the apartment, and walking me through with every step including the move-in, she even helped with giving access to the movers while I was away. I would highly recommend ANYONE to come to her, and not think twice.
From signing our lease to the day of moving in, it was a really wonderful experience. Everyone at the Avalon Glen Cove is extremely helpful and super kind. My boyfriend and I are very grateful to have had the help we needed for our move in day especially during this crazy time.
I have lived part time at the Avalon in Glen Cove for around 3 years and find it comfortable, clean, pleasant and safe. However I wanted to write a review because the people that work at the Avalon are terrific. In particular Guy at the front desk looks after everyone, Joanne is always welcoming with a smile and I cant say enough good things about Yolanda and particularly Stephanie who are currently helping me to find another smaller apartment, filling a million picky requirements with good humor, patience and helpfulness beyond the call of duty. I can honestly say they are working as hard to help me downsize as they would to help someone choose the most expensive apartment in the complex. Thanks so much
I have been living in Avalon for about two months and the staff here has become my family. Ed, Dylan, and Kelvin were incredible helping me get settled into my new place and are always friendly and welcoming when I see them around the building. Stephanie in the leasing office is incredible and she has become my favorite hello when I walk into the building after work. They are all helpful, kind, and caring and not being from the island, they have become my family here at Avalon.
The maintenance team at the 1100 Avalon Square building is amazing!! They are extremely efficient, quick to comply and always super friendly. I had the pleasure of working with Harrison for the first time. My husband and I were convinced we needed a new fridge. Harrison knew exactly why the refrigerator wasn’t working but the freezer was, and literally fixed it in no time. He was a pleasure the whole time and koda (my pup) couldn’t agree more lol. He literally saved the building the cost of getting us s new refrigerator!!!
Awesome apartments, incredibly friendly and knowledgable staff, and they all make you feel right at home without any extra charge - this, to me, is absolutely priceless. I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Stephanie DiLeo to sign a lease into an apartment here, and I needed the room within a very short time window. She made a very hectic time for me much easier to handle and was very accommodating, competent, and an absolute joy. If you are in the area looking for quality apartments, you will be more than happy being part of the Avalon family at Glen Cove
I loved my time here. I lived in the 100 Glen Street address. Absolutely loved the staff and the people at the entrance desk. Guy and Joanne you both will be missed tremendously. I am a single female and always felt safe here. The facility is very clean, having a washer and dryer in the apartment was a major plus. Gym was great (and also having access to the other larger gym) was awesome. The community is very friendly, people always smile and say hello. I lived in a studio, I had a fairly large bathroom and a great large closet. I absolutely love the town of Glen Cove it is very lovely. Love Rising Tide Organic Grocery Market. The great thing about this location is my go tos such as Starbucks, CVS, Staples, cute restaurants, Panera, and a organic grocery like Rising Tide are also very very close. A lot of things are walking distance. Enjoyed my time here a lot, and loved my apartment. First time living in Long Island and really loved Glen Cove :)
I have been living in the Avalon for about 7 months now and am very impressed with the maintenance! I constantly see Edwin around the building and he is always asking how everything is in the apartment and if I need anything. He is there within a day when I need something fixed. I normally never write reviews but Edwin goes above and beyond the requirements of his job which deserves some recognition! The great maintenance is definitely a perk of living in Avalon
The staff and accommodations at the Avalon South in Glen Cove are excellent. They are concerned about my needs and are very responsive to all my service calls. The office staff including Lisa Dutra, Joanne Gordon, Stephanie, Yolanda, and the entire maintenance and concierge teams are outstanding and their attention to detail very professional. We love living at the Avalon and recommend it highly!!! Thanks.
Dear Lisa and Kelvin,Harrison left a little while ago. This was the first time Ive met him. He was courteous, great with Ginger, and above all explained everything that he was checking. In all my years living here, I dont recall ever having such a detailed walk through of the apartment. He checked under every sink for small leaks, the water heater, A/C - Heating unit, etc. I am happy that Avalon is doing this preventive maintenance. Please feel free to forward this email to the powers that be.Once again, thank you both for accomodating my schedule.Wishing you both happy holidays.Best,Laura Glenn
Ive been living at the Avalon and Glen Cove for about five years. Through the years there have been many employees in through the doors. For the most part all have been either excellent or at worst, good. One employee in the building in particular is outstanding. Edwin several times has gone above and beyond his job. Last week I had a water issue in the apartment. His attention to detail, follow up, examination of the situation, execution of repairs, clean up and post follow up was exemplary. His customer service skills are ones that we all can learn from. I know these boards are usually filled with complaints but every once in a while you truly need to recognize a great job. Thank you Avalon!
Just moved into Avalon as a student. I am very happy with the building, my room and all the resources available to me here. It is a very quite and peaceful neighborhood and the environment is very welcoming. Stephanie was a great help to me from the beginning. She was very patient throughout the process and was always available to answer my questions. She took care of everything and made the move-in process very easy and convenient. Overall, I am very happy with my new home!
Harrison, is the BEST! We have had to submit a few service tickets and each time he comes he gives us a clear explanation of whats wrong, what caused it, and how he will fix it. He always does so quickly and never leaves a mess. If you can request a service person he is absolutely who you want to come to the rescue!
My wife and I moved here almost a year, so I guess its been a fair amount of time to now write a review. Our leasing agent Stephanie has been amazing to interact with since the first time we met her to take a look at some apartments. She is one of the friendliest and genuinely kind people that we have ever met. It is refreshing to find someone like her in a sales oriented position. She was not just about getting a sale; she wanted to make sure we found the apartment that was right for us. To date, our interactions are always a welcomed occurrence. She will go on to do great things and is truly an asset to the Avalon team! Some other staff members worth noting include Guy, Joanne, Evanson and Yolanda. The Avalon concierge staff at the North building is amazing. My wife and I have become very close with each of them. They are all wonderful to interact with and are always more than willing to assist us with any issues that may arise from time to time! It is a shame the North building cannot have more Avalon concierge staff as opposed to the Securitas staff. It is definitely a less homely vibe when one of the contracted staff are on duty. As for the Sales and Service Supervisor Yolanda, she has been nothing but helpful since we moved in. There have been several instances in which we needed to have something addressed, and each time she has been extremely courteous and as helpful as possible to help resolve whatever issue we may have had at the time. We have come across some less than helpful staff from time to time, but I will just leave it at that.Aside from the staff, the apartment itself is very nice (as it should be for paying the money it costs to live here). As in any apartment complex, you have some less desirable tenants that occasionally frustrate you in one way or another. Not everyone on this planet was blessed with proper manners, especially when it comes to shared spaces. Additionally, the surrounding area of the North building definitely leaves much to be desired. I do not feel comfortable with my wife walking the outdoor premises and immediate areas alone at night.Overall, we have been very happy here so far. We have become friendly with many fellow tenants along with Avalon staff members. To be fair, it does feel that the North building and its residents are of less priority than the main complex in many ways. There is that red headed step child feel unfortunately. With that, the immediate neighborhood could definitely make some people feel unsafe at night. That being said, we always feel completely safe in the building. If you have the money to blow, its not a bad place to live. *If we didnt have a larger dog, Im sure my wife and I couldve found a relatively similar apartment for a cheaper rent in a less sketchy neighborhood.* If you plan on moving to Avalon Glen Cove North, please be considerate of your fellow tenants and try to be a decent mannered human being. Thanks for reading my review and good luck with your apartment searches!
I do not require maintenance often, but when I have, the Avalon technicians have responded quickly and made all needed service repairs effectively, efficiently and respectfully, with a much-appreciated, sincere emphasis on customer service. Id like to thank Kelvin Singh, Tech 3 for his consistent excellent service during my residency at the Avalon at Glen Cove. Kelvin has always impressed me with his needed creativity to solve unique service problems as well as his excellent listening and communication skills which have informed me on a number of apartment-related problem prevention tips. Today there was a piggyback service problem, and both Kelvin and Ed Delgado saved the day! Thank you guys. Its great to know you are a team I can count on.
Here’s a list of OUTSTANDING workers that we’ve been in contact with. We are changing the review to a five instead of a three solely because we feel that the maintenance team, and Danielle are worth 5 stars while the building in our book is worth about 4 starsKelvin Singh, Maintenance Supervisor, good professional worker that has helped my wife on many occasions. Great job!Rommel Morgan/Harrison Carter, Maintenance Tech, professional and friendly, thank you for working on our apartment. Great job!Danielle McGloin, Community consultant, thank you for being you. Friendly, warm and knowledgeable. Great job!Joanne Gordon, thank you for showing us an apartment without pushing us. Friendly, warm and knowledgeable. Great job!Marlan Gayle, Maintenance Technician, glad to know when the office closes he’s around to address any situations. Great job! However Upper management did not fulfill our needs. We will be leaving in five months, this apartment was 3 stars for us. If only we could have went into a bigger apartment. What happens is once you sign a new lease, even if something major is wrong with your apartment your stuck another year in it unless you pay big bucks to break your lease. They will not inform you if something opens up.Know that your rent will go up up up... I feel it’s better to rent a house than live here for more than a year or two tops. We’ve spent over $65.000 to live here for under 2 year. We only have a one bedroom apartment. We were foolish enough to try and go into a two bedroom here because we are having so much problems with our apartment. They wanted to charge us over 10k to break the lease and pay more than what the apartment is listed for on line.We don’t like our apartment for many reasons. There is no closet space and even with the back door and window in the bedroom our apartment feels dark and depressing. It was kinda nice the first year although we had a few issues. There’s just no space to put anything. Whatever your rent will be, keep in mind your rent could go up 500 + or more when it’s time to sign the new lease. You’ll need to pay for parking so add on that 75+ a month plus storage fees, if any is available. The maintenance team is Professional and friendly. We understand that all our needs can not be 100 meet but thank you for trying. If you have a problem with any work done in your apartment, do not go to the main office to address your concerns (they do not have the answers) Contact the head of maintenance. This would have save us lots of grief. The pool is amazing and clean. We love renting the club room for parties. When we moved in it was 100. bucks to rent, now it’s 175. Still cheaper than renting a hall. The only problem is they only let us go in an hour before to set up, they won’t even let you put up extra tables until an hour before. Doesn’t matter if nobody really hangs out in that room. When we have parties the entire building can attend but still we can’t set up in enough time. That sucks!! The movie room has not worked since we moved it. Also even if it did work it’s not like other building where you can use your phone to connect to Netflix, prime or Hulu, it only takes DVDs. the gym is okay, bikes should be replaced (spin bikes is the new in)I like that they have new vending machines. It’s a nice, quite building to live in. Everyone mostly keeps to themselves. There isn’t anything for kids to do. Would be nice to have ping pong, basketball or playground. We only see children in passing in hallways.
I have had many issues in my apartment, and the maintenance team has willfully, efficiently, and kindly fixed my problems. Specifically, Ed and Kelvin are extremely helpful. They are always sweet, answer our questions, courteous, and diligent. We had our laundry machine and dryer replaced. We put in a request, and within minutes we received a call and our machines were being replaced.
I’ve moved around quite a bit lately, a brand new empty nest left me floundering to find a new place to call home after downsizing from the traditional white picket lifestyle. I came to see the Avalon for a friends mom to consider and met Stephanie DiLeo. Stephanie’s smile and humor drew me in but her no nonsense approach to describing the lifestyle here sealed it for me. She literally had me at hello! And Danielle’s warm and inviting manner instantly made me feel as though I’d found a new friend. I love it here. I work in Wall Street madness and when I come home to familiar faces, and amazing neighbors, spotless common areas...my nest feels just a little less empty.Did I mention the pool? Coming home to this pool, grab a book and gin and tonic (yes I admit) - I’ve found my peaceful place. These women, whom I met by chance, have been amazing in every way.And Marlin, see him in the hallways and I dare you not to smile. He’s so warm and kind and there’s nothing he can’t fix. I completely trust him in my home even when I’m not there and my 60 pound Siberian loves him too. It sure is nice to have a man around the house again fixing stuff!Thank you to these wonderful people at the Avalon for helping me find my new home - my peaceful place! I hope the leadership at Avalon values these 3 employees - they are at the top of their game.Sheri C
Hi, I needed a few repairs at my apartment today. They sent Harrison, he did a great job.. We talked about what he was going to do. Installed a new blind, that operates diffidently, instructed me how to use it. Bath tub, and sink vanity, needed to be caulked, great job. While on site, asked about the toilet seat, installed a new 1. Harrison, is very knowledgeable and professional. A thanks to him and the whole team, at Avalon Glen Cove, that are always there when needed.. I will post another, supporting the rest of the team. Thanks you, Mike Horan. @1158 Hi, 10-7-2019, Harrison came into do a winter checkup, we found a issue with the HVAC unit, needed a weather strip, to keep unwanted outside air and car exhaust odor outside.. , @ few weeks ago, Mel, fix the dishwasher, had a noise issue, after investigation, & discussing with Kelvan, a solenoid replacement was needed. Now all is good and quiet.. A thanks, to all the rest of the team, in making my home a great plave to live & be..
In my first month of living here, I am extremely happy to call this place home. Tremendous shout out to Nicole Massa, Sales & Service Supervisor, for helping us work through the process of getting the apartment, and helping to make sure any questions or issues were taken care of quickly when we moved in. Looking forward to the time I will spend here!
Clean and secure building. Onsite underground parking, in home laundry and a trash chute in every floor are very convenient amenities. Leasing staff is extremely helpful and courteous. Despite the COVID situation the staff helped setup many showings and respond to queries and questions promptly. The apartments are a bit on the pricey side but for a building like that in Long Island that’s what you have to pay.
Avalon was efficient in answering my service request in a timely manner. Communication, friendliness, and professionalism was exhibited by my service request providers Mel and Kelvin as they quickly attended to my needs in the apartment. I feel very comfortable living at Avalon of Glen Cove knowing I have this support at my side.
Not a resident of the Avalon yet, but Stephanie was amazing that I had to write a review. Had a tour with Stephanie today. She was awesome to work with. She was very patient and allowed me to take videos and pictures to send to my fiance who was not able to make it. She was quick to answer my million questions and concerns. She gave me a great tour and was veryyyy thorough. She even walked me out to make sure i did not get lost getting to the guest parking lot. She was very welcoming and that alone made me want to move here.
Amazing experience here. Building is well maintained and clean. Staff is wonderful and made what is otherwise the very stressful transition of moving simple and enjoyable. Stephanie made sure everything was in order for move-in and the process was without hiccup. Highly recommended.Update: I’ve been living here for 8 months, and although I’ve already left a review, I felt compelled to update. Living here has been wonderful! We have had a few maintenance requests (as expected in any rental) and they were addressed almost immediately. The most impressive, and the motivation to this update, occurred this weekend. The AC unit in the my bedroom stopped working. I sent in a maintenence request on Sunday, expecting a response during the week. Kelvin called me within 2 hours of my request and was in my apartment trouble shooting 30 minutes later. The AC unit needs to be replaced, and he put in the order THAT DAY! He explained it may take a few days to arrive, which I understood, but he went above and beyond and showed up about 60 minutes later with a portable AC unit to use until mine was fixed. He set it all up and explained how to use it. He refused the tip I offered him, insisting it was no trouble. I have been a tenant at various locations for the past 10 years and my experience at Avalon Glen Cove has been the best by far! So happy here. THANK YOU KELVIN!
Ultimately what happened was I got locked in my apartment. Called the main service line which did not respond in an immediate fashion. I called downstairs, Stephanie immediately answered, put me in contact with Rich, who in two seconds was at my apartment, and no exaggeration, within 3 minutes that door was totally fixed. Rich is personable, you can trust him in the apartment to make sure everything is good to go. What could have been a dreadful experience, was completely fine thanks to the teamwork and coordination of Stephanie and Rich. Fantastic.
Ive been living at the Avalon at Glen Cove for two years now and will be resigning my lease today for another year without any hesitation! The building is super clean, the ammenities are always available, and you cant find better staff! Stephanie and Yolanda are super personable and such a pleasure to have here at the Avalon! Ed is incredibly helpful and takes care of whatever I need right away! Even today, I dropped my keys down the garbage chute and he and Kelvin returned them right back to me within minutes! You wont find service like that anywhere else! Cant wait for another year here! :)
Thanks to Lisa & Lindsay, the lease renewal process was just as easy the 11th time as it was the 1st! Maintenance, (Kevon, Kelvin, Mel, Marlan and the others) always takes care of everything the first time and really wants to make sure that the resident is happy and comfortable in their apartment home. I must say, the flowers and landscaping look incredible this year- kudos to the new landscaper!
I reported problems with my tub drainage. Harrison came today and knew what the problem was immediately. He cleared the drain and my problem was solved. Harrison is a knowledgeable technician and gets the job done the first time efficiently and professionally. Harrison is an asset to Avalon communities.
Just want to send a note, hopefully, to tell you what you already know. Stephanie DiLeo is a huge asset to Avalon and the residents of this community. While I really miss her being the concierge, I am very pleased she is moving up in the organization.Stephanie has been so considerate to me in the past and is currently. When Stephanie first started, I was in the hospital for a number of weeks. She was extremely helpful to the people who were doing things on my behalf. When I returned to Avalon, Stephanie was there to greet me and extend her help to me.Stephanie always called me when I had packages and offered to bring them to my apartment. This was invaluable to me and my recovery. This was just one of the things she did that I was unable to do for myself. Ive witnessed the same dedication to other residents, numerous times. In her new position, she still offers her help in anyway she can. This past week a package was delivered for me. It was important and she took the time call me and to bring it to me. I truly appreciated it.As I said, I hope this is just confirmation of what you are already aware.
As a resident at the Avalon Im very pleased with the staff, they have been nothing short of incredible. They have strong communication, keep the grounds clean and make living there a pleasure. Special thanks to Kelvin, Kevon, Ramel and the office staff who have been wonderful to us.
My washing machine wasnt wringing the clothes out so Livio took a look and said I needed a new machine The NEXT day Ed and Kelvin arrived with a brand new machine. Took them no time to install new one and remove old . They cleaned up after and Im back doing laundry Big Shout Out to maintenance team here. Always service with a smile. Id also like to say Thank You to Stephanie and Yolanda who are always pro active in addressing any concerns. Ive been a resident for 4 years and hope to be at the Avalon for many more years
My family & I have been living in the Avalon for a few months now & the maintenance department has been extremely helpful with repairs, specifically Dylan. He was very friendly and outgoing. I had a bunch of different repairs & I told him that he can come back the next day if he couldnt finish it all b/c I know they work until 6 but he said absolutely not, he was determined to get everything done and he sure did! My boys were excited to watch Dylan do the repairs & Dylan was very patient & kind to them, they enjoyed having him here! He didnt rush he stayed late & completed the work with a smile on his face! :)
My fiancé and I moved into the Avalon in April 2015 we are deciding to leave since we are having a baby and have many issues with the building. Our leasing agent made nothing easy for us and told us false information regarding getting out of the lease which lead to us having to contact the manager and sort it all out. The only good experience I have is with the maintenance manager Ed. He is so accommodating and never failed to show up or finish a work order for me. My fridge leaked so he replaced it the same day. He personally worked on the boiler and shower to make sure it was okay for us. Overall we had a terrible experience which is why we are not renewing our lease, but to all the maintenance guys- especially Ed, we want to say thank you for trying to make it easier for us to live here. We appreciate all that you did.
I want to give a shout out to Stephanie in the leasing office at Glen Cove. She is amazing at what she does, and genuinely cares about each and every one of the residents. I have lived here for about 10 months now, and every time I see Stephanie, she has a smile on her face and greets everyone by name. She is always willing to go above and beyond at her job, and I can’t thank her enough. I know that no matter how big or small my question or issue is, I can go to Stephanie, who will drop what she is doing to help. That speaks volumes on that type of community we have here. I can’t thank her enough for all that she has done for me and the community.I also want to say thank you to Dylan, on the maintenance team. He was a tremendous help to me a few weeks ago when I had a rather large and heavy box delivered and needed help moving it to my apartment (on a different floor). He didn’t ask any questions, or complain at all, but he just jumped in to help. It’s a huge relief knowing that I have people I can count on to help with anything, should I need it, and all I have to do is ask. Thanks again Dylan!
I absolutely love it here at Avalon (building two). Stephanie Dileo was amazing and help make everything so seamless in terms of the move in and the lease. Any maintenance requests have been handled very fast and the concierge is top notch. I would recommend this place highly and made my transition from Brooklyn to Glen cove actually pleasant.
I have lived here for about 4 months now and my experience has been wonderful . This is in great part to Stephanie in the leasing office. She made the whole process easy and has been so helpful with any questions or other things I might need. She is so professional but also just a pleasure to work with! Always a smile!
This is a great apartment complex, with terrific facilities. The Avalon sales/leasing staff are all incredibly helpful and so nice to work with. We worked with Stephanie DiLeo and she is incredibly knowlegable about the area. She is so wonderful to deal with. We know we found a home. We are thrilled that we rented at Avakin.
I’ve lived here for over two years and the maintenance team is phenomenal, especially Mel and Harrison. They are efficient, professional and they provide excellent follow up and complete the work usually the first time. These two definitely make my time here more pleasurable. Thanks again Mel and Harrison
I have lived in the Avalon Glen Cove North Building since it opened in April 2007. For most of that time, Joanne has been the daytime concierge. Joanne does much more than her job description, she is a friend, who goes out of her way to assist the residents. Recently, my wife needed to go to the ER for a small issue, and Joanne stepped away from her duties to drive her. This morning, when I was leaving for work, Joanne was mopping the elevator floors (it is often that we see her cleaning up garbage around the corridors, etc.).....this most definitely goes beyond the duties of a concierge! Avalon is lucky to have Joanne on their team!!!
I wanted to extend my appreciation to both Ed Delgado and Lisa Dutra in the way they handled a problem that occurred. On the evening of March 6, 2017 the water tank in my unit failed, Ed responded to my service call within 5 minutes, assessed the situation and in very quick time reached out to the plumber, ordered a new tank and scheduled the replacement for the next morning. Ed was also accommodating in extending to me the key to the model unit to shower. Also many thanks to Lisa Dutra and the staff including Stephanie and Amy for the many follow up calls. Again their professionalism and thoughtfulness is very appreciated.
Recently moved from a studio to a 1 BR. Stephanie was fantastic to work with and made the whole process quick and easy. The facility is very well kept and clean and any service tickets have been quickly addressed. The concierge and maintenance staff are first rate. Highly recommend!
I am in the process of moving into the Avalon Glen Cove this month. I must say that Stephanie and the entire staff have been most helpful when it came to any questions I have had. The move has been easy and the maintenance staff have been on hand to help if needed. It is a beautiful building and I feel safe knowing there is a concierge on duty every night! Thank you!
I highly recommend the Avalon Glen Cove. It is a beautiful community that places a high value on hospitality, cleanliness and security. Stephanie DiLeo, their Regional Sales Leader, is worth her weight in gold! She did everything to make my move into Avalon perfect. If you are looking to lease, definitely request to work with her!
I recently requested service for a new wash machine. Today it came and I am so happy! It is the newest GE model and it works great. Thank you so much Ron for installing it and helping to explain all the new functions. The Avalon team works so hard in making their residents happy!
Ive been here 3 going on my 4th year. All the new office staff (except for Amy who helped me when I came and is the best) are all so nice, efficient and concerned. Great Gals!!But I want to really say thank you for the maintenance staff, Edwin, Livio, and Ronald. Ed and Livio have been the best, they are always there to help and always do an excellent job of anything I need fixed. They may be behind the scenes but this building wouldnt be what it is without them.
I am writing to let everyone know about my excellent experience dealing with Stephanie DiLeo. I am a returning resident of Avalon at Glen Cove, i was very happy when i lived there a few years ago, which is why i am returning again. However, this time around i had the pleasure of meeting and doing my business with Stephanie DiLeo. I, as a business owner, understand the importance of professionalism, courtesy, and attentiveness towards my clients, however unfortunately i find this seems to be fading out in many establishments. Stephanie has shown me that, like in my businesses, customer service is still #1. I could not be more pleased and satisfied with the level of professionalism and courtesy that she has shown me, not to mention being extremely attentive and prompt when answering or responding to any and all of my questions and concerns. I look forward to moving in this week knowing that i have Stephanie there to always go to. She has made doing business with, and is the reason i give Avalon 5 stars. If you are in the market for a beautiful way of living, and are considering the Avalon, be sure to make it a point to contact and deal with Stephanie DiLeo.Jimmy G.
The APT is very clean and nice. Also, the building is clean, safe, and comfortable. All the staff are friendly especially Stephanie, who is in the leasing office, she always help us for everything we need. Also, she is so kind and helpful. Thank you so much Stephanie for everything.
Its loaded with terrible gimics and charges, a list of charges even when you look for security deposit refund. You even WILL pay cleaning and shampoo charges, no matter how well you clean the apartment before leaving. You can rent for 2 months there but Marriott will come out much cheaper and better by time your leave the place. I recommendation, stay away from it. If you go to see the place, ask them to show you their standard form/charges they applied to people who recently left.
Stephanie helped my roommate and I have such a fun, easy, and smooth rental process! She was open to any questions we had, and was so helpful and informative. I cant wait to live here as my home away from home while going to school. We cant wait to officially move in! Thank you so much Stephanie for being the best!
My mom lives in the Avalon North and being as she is alone and elderly I worry abut her all the time. Edwin and Kelvin are always so helpful and willing to lend a hand when she needs it.Recently she had a new chair delivered and she needed the old one removed. They were so kind and removed it for her, all for a great big thank you:)Such a pleasure and peace of mind for me knowing there is such a nice staff there especially Edwin & Kelvin.
Kudos to the staff at 1100 avalon square. We dont know everyone on staffs name. However, for those we do know, please know the following. Lisa, general manager, is efficient, responsive, always so pleasant and thoroughly efficient. She runs the building extremely well. No matter what issue we bring to her, it is dealt with quickly, efficiently and always to our satisfaction. She is a credit to the Avalon organization. The same is true of Stefanie, Ramel, Kelvin, Marlon and others whose names we do not know. We are in our fifth year of residency and the current staff is by far the best. To sum up, the staff is making our residency an extremely pleasant experience. Respectfully, Peter and Rosemarie Ciccone
I moved into the Avalon in Glen Cove in February of 2016. Although there have been several maintenance issues, including problems with the refrigerator, kitchen sink, etc., these issues were addressed immediately. I appreciate the prompt and thoroughness of the maintenance staff. And I especially appreciate Dylan and Kelvin. They are courteous, professional, and all around just really good guys. Dylan is always very personable and takes the time to discuss the issue, often in handwritten notes left on the refrigerator. Its obvioust that Dylan takes genuine pride in his work. And that is so refreshing to see in this day and age.
My sister just moved to Avalon at Glen Cove and had ultimate care and assistance from Stephanie DiLeo and Edwin. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable with any questions or accommodations requested. They made the move pleasant and a smooth transition as she began medical school.
I want to give a huge thank you to Ramel Morgan and Harrison. We had a problem with our stove and they not only replaced it but Harrison installed it literally within a half hour. They are a real asset to the Avalon Community always willing to help, very kind and courteous.... two really terrific guys cant thank them enough. Toni Signet
Initially the invitation to enter into their facility was warm and welcoming where my boyfriend and I fell in love with their tightly knit family complex. At the end of the experience- one of the leasing agents were rushing us to sign their leasing agreement with the false advertisement of signing was the equivalent of reserving the apartment. Instead we felt deceived and told by customer service that we had to pay for a months rent of an apartment that we did not even move into. After hearing of our experience, the manager of the facility had contact us via telephone to further investigate the ordeal. Once understanding that our experience was based on the inappropriate education of one of its workers -they had reversed the order to pay for the one months rent in addition to the application fee to not make us feel pressured. But what mattered the most to me was that she had taken the time to explain in detail the policies of the facility which is all I had wanted in the first place and the guarantee that she would educate her employee better. Although this experience had started rough - this facility really cares about its current and future applicants and wants to maintain these relationships which honestly has been best thing I have come across in a franchise business in a long time. I recommend this facility to anyone seeking for a wonderful place to live in.
Really bad experience here. Prepare to suffer fees, lots of them, for any deviance whatsoever from the standard tenant behavior. Didnt get the required renters insurance? Prepare to get evicted and assessed excessive legal fees. Theyll send you ten warnings, but none of the warnings will prepare you for the impending fees. Yep, the man lives here and he will stick it to you. Lots of pets, lots of unclean hallways, pet stains, feces in elevators, trash in hallways, noisy, barking dogs, etc. Any opportunity to assess fees will be liberally taken at the slightest provocation. Doormen are fantastic and a bright spot. Lip service to customer satisfaction will be provided. They do not care about customers and are not listening, despite numerous surveys. Read the fine print in your lease. They mean what they say and the lease is written to protect them, not you. Expensive and overpriced. You can do better. Avoid at all costs.
Unfortunately its not a well maintained property for the cost. If you do chose Avalon at Glen Cove, if its a consideration, I strongly reccomend that you do not pay for parking. Residents park for free on the visitors garage area. This is not enforced at all. This winter the snow wasnt plowed well. My car has new tires and it still tailspinned turning out of the garage parking lot. You cant even see the ground, its dangerous! The appliances are old and not even stainless steal.I regrettably moved into an apartment where they replaced white kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors with brown wood cabinet doors painted a noticeable darker shade of white. Its almost like they paid some random guy off the street to do work in the apartment.Lastly the bottom of my tub has jagged reminants of a unfinished cork job. I swear I could easily split my toe open if I accodently swiped my foot against it. The gym is all poorly lit, its dangerous to work out in their early in the morning or late at night. In short, dont bother living here.
Its a good place to live if you are looking for a lot of amenities and can afford to pay additional rent for it. The management and maintenance staff are very friendly and helpful. Its in a good neighborhood close to the village. Its also one of the few places that allow pets. Good security and also good size apartments.
The leasing office/administration have some of the rudest women I have ever come across. I have lived here for many years and have watched the facilities slowly decline. The automatic security sliding gates to the resident parking lots are always broken and left open. The doors to get into the building are often jammed and left open and unsecured. There are pot holes in the entrance way to the parking lot that need to be avoided to avoid damage to your car. The elevators are extremely slow and break on a regular basis. The fire alarm will also go off often for no particular reason which forces you to take the long walk to the stairwell just to get in and out of the building. They recently painted the outside of the building and the hallways to make the building look fresher but dont be fooled. If you have the money to spend and are looking for a place to live temporarily in the area then this place will suffice. Just be prepared for everything that I mentioned earlier in this review. Be prepared for lots of extra fees and charges. Did i mention the women in the office are extremely rude? I asked for a parking space and mentioned that I had been parking in guest parking. She responded by rudely asserting that I should not be parking in guest parking....Mind you I was in the office to get a parking spot! Most of the residents are friendly, however, recently a large asian population has moved in and they will avoid eye contact with you and seem to have no concept of american social norms whatsoever. If you can avoid this place....do it.
Cannot say enough good things about the Community Consultant Stephanie DiLeo. A wonderful Ambassador to Avalon Bay.Stephanie spoke with me as I was traveling out of town for my initial inquiry - always prompt to reply and once on site, helpful in explaining the features and amenities of the Property.Ditto to Yolanda, Amy and Mgr Lisa.
Hi I’m Robert Severino me and my dad a while back when we knew we were going to be moving didn’t know where to go at the time then one day i was looking at apts they were ok but nothing caught my eye. Then next week or so I saw a sign on a building said Avalon got out went inside and met with this lady her name is Stephanie she was so awesome and professional I might add and then a few weeks later there I am not only did I find a great pad for me and my father but she went through high and low for this to happen for us in future if anyone is looking for an apartment she is definitely the person I would definitely recommend to people so here’s to Stephanie awesome job
Caregiver decided not going to do that line of work anymore. Then came Amy from the Avalon at Glen Cove. Before I knew it Amy was on the phone with her connection at the library, 10 minutes later, I was setting up an interview with a replacement. I hugged her and said Thank you, how can I repay you? She said you having peace on your pretty face, is all I need. There is so much more to tell about Amy. Only wonderful things to say. For now, I will respect your time but if your travels pass Amys you might want to take a moment and chat a bit with her about anything and everything. Life, The Avalon and how residency there might just change your life. I know it has mine.
THIS PLACE IS A JOKE - for so many reasons - but at the moment I’m moved to comment bc the GD fire alarm goes off unnecessarily ALL THE TIME. Aside from the extreme annoyance and inconvenience (esp for residents on the 5th floor), this poses a serious safety risk. If ever the alarm sounds for a legitimate reason (you know, NOT as a result of a pipe bursting in the garage!), tenants won’t likely evacuate as they’re so accustomed to this alarm being much akin to the boy who continuously cries wolf. The alarm is triggered by many (not fire related) things, including weather. It’s not normal (nor luxurious!) to live fearing that the alarm may go off when you’re not home, subjecting your pets’ ears to unnecessary trauma. Avalon at Glen Cove cannot be described as “you get what you pay for.”
I previously wrote a positive review, which I now know was premature and inaccurate. Maintenance is horrible. First they ignore, then they make appointments and do not show up, then they lie, then they retaliate with the assistance of the onsite manager, Lisa Dutra. The worst.
As always, Rich has a quick response to maintenance requests, showing up less than 24 hours later to fix everything, and willing and able to answer any questions I have about whats wrong and what I can do to stop issues from happening again. Thanks!! Makes living here low stress.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the maintenance team at the Avalon South in Glen Cove. I have lived in the Avalon going on 5 years now and they finally got it right! Under the leadership of Salvatore Angilletta he and his outstanding team including Edwin Kelvin, Livio, Dennis and Dylan. Their hard-work and dedicated to us the tenants really has made living in the Avalon now feel like home sweet home!!The maintenance team are immediately responsive, caring, friendly and know our needs without being asked. The building is operating better than ever from the elevators, A/C, to those darn fire alarms and the overall cleanliness of the building and grounds have improved exponentially. The team has been proactive and so dedicated to make our living experience a great one and it shows. Much appreciated to all for a job well done!!! With great fondness and thanks!!! Susan

2021-01-06The maintenance guys are always so great and quick with everything they do! Harrison was absolutely amazing in replacing my refrigerator as well as fixing up a bunch of thing around the apartment and any other issues I had he was sure to get it done for me in a timely manner. Harrison’s great in making sure that I was happy with everything done and always asks if there’s anything else he can around the apartment while he’s there, making sure everything else is up to date and working properly, very impressed with the professionalism

2020-06-23Until today, I thought this was a good place and have been living here for almost a year. I am a new driver and the pillars in the garage have been giving me a hard time. I hit my car when I moved in as well. Because of this, Avalon staff assigned me a parking spot without anyone next to me so that I have more space. This was arranged by their staff and Im just following their suggestions. In Jan 2020, a staff emailed me asking about my parking problem and I explained again why I was parking in between two spots (see pics). After that they never contacted me again, so I assumed Avalon knew my parking thing and approved it.5 months later today in June, someone named Joanne called me with an extremely rude and ironic attitude complaining my parking issue. I feel insulted and upset. Of course I understand I should try to park in my spot only and its not an excuse for being a new driver, but this was initiated by Avalon staff and they are informed more than once. If this is not accepted, they should have let me know in January. Clearly there are communication problems within Avalon, but I should not be the one to be blamed. All I want was an apology from Joanne who called me with bad attitude and I agree to park following their instructions, but their manager called me saying she doesnt think the employee needs to apologize and its not fair to ask she to apologize. I am very disappointed about how Avalon treats residents here, Its not fair for her to apologize, so its fair for me to be treated like this even though its Avalons management fault?

2021-05-25I recently had a AC breakdown. I emailed the requested, the day before, and by 11am the next day the repair was started. It was completed by 2:30pm. Luis Gomez did an amazing job, not only repairing the AC system, which needed to be charged, but replaced the air filter. The best part was nothing to clean up. He was a professional, and took pride in the service order. Even checked on me after the repair was completed, to ensure the repair was done to my satisfaction. I am very happy to returned to rent with Avalon Communities again.

2020-08-24So far my family and I love living here at Avalon at Glen Cove. I only gave it a four star because weve only been here for a month. Any issues we had has been dealt with in a timely fashion and the two maintenance workers I meet with Mel and Marlon were well mannered and knowledgeable. Due to Covid-19 I havent seen any in person staff but has exchanged emails and phone calls and that also was done in a timely fashion and with respect the main person I had contact with was Miranda and shes great and hopefully when this pandemic slow down Ill thank her in person. Again because of Covid-19 I only saw the apartment through pictures and to my surprise the apartment was much better in person, beautiful windows lots of sun light.(great for my electric bill) The building itself is very very quiet, smells great and is clean (thats a big deal for me). If you are looking to rent here during the pandemic and is unable to see the apartment in person you can trust the pics, virtual tour and this review. Its a honest review so I hope it helps.

2021-06-22The best part of living at Avalon is the Mai ten episodes crew. Harrison fixed my tub handle with no issues or worries or a watery mess. He is kind and professional every time. Same this with Mel. He is kind and professional and provides updates. He fixes any assignment or task right the first time. Mel and Harrison are my go to guys! Thanks!!

2021-01-26I moved in during quarantine with all of the amenities closed, but all the staff here were (and still are) super friendly and helpful. The pool and gym did end up opening which are both beautiful, as well as the apartment rooms inside. They all have washer/dryers and dishwashers which is super convenient. You can paint your walls to make it more like home which is nice, they just have to be painted back before you move out. The locked parking garage and concierge by the main door in the evenings is nice for safety. They also have an amazon locker for your packages so theyre not just sitting out. Walking distance to town for food, coffee, post office, etc. Would definitely recommend!

2020-01-28From the moment I called for a tour I had a great experience. Jessica from the call center helped me set an appointment with Miranda Mawhinney at Avalon at Glen Cove. Miranda was very relaxed and not pushy at all. She was kind and made us feel very welcome with no pressure. We looked at both the North and South locations and found an apartment we loved! We applied on a Saturday and were approved on Monday!!! Miranda was there for us every step of the way! She is extremely reliable and responded to my emails almost immediately. Even when she was out of the office she responded and set us up with her colleague Nicole who was also very helpful. Miranda has been very accommodating and answers my emails day or night. Even after moving in I have reached out to Miranda many times and she has always been eager to help. The team they have here at the Avalon has been such a pleasure to have when making our decision where to live. Weve only been here about a week but so far we feel its a perfect fit for us!

2020-12-23The maintenance guys are awesome. Always there to help me with every little problem I have. Luis and Marlon are always around where I can ask them any questions about my apartment and they are always very helpful. I know they usually mainly stay in the south building, but it would be great to see them more in the north building.

2021-01-14Recently, our refrigerator stopped working so after putting in a service request, we waited a few days for maintenance. Luis (even though we knew he had many other things to do that day and was in another building) saw the request on the weekend and immediately brought us a replacement fridge that day itself. He was very sweet and professional to work with! Harrison repaired our original fridge and brought it back and made sure everything was in order. He thoroughly checked to make sure the fridge was 100% intact and working. These 2 guys are fantastic to work with!

2019-09-26I moved to Avalon Glen Cove at the end of August. The staff here is great - friendly, professional and accommodating. My hot water heater broke last week and Harrison was great - got it replaced the following day. He allowed me to use the shower in an empty apartment which was greatly appreciated.
