Lived here for four months and have nothing but great things to say. Love my apartment - from the view to all of the light to the layout. The property is kept in tip-top shape. The concierges always have a nice word to say and are helpful in every possible way. The management team keep things humming, communicate frequently, always seem to be in a good mood and have answers to myriad questions. The maintenance team are fast, professional, friendly and can fix just about anything - or replace it if need be. There are a lot of units here, yet I feel like from whomever at Avalon I interact with Im the only person in the building. You could see how well the team came together after Ida - they dealt with issues fast, were transparent about needed repairs and kept the disruption as minimal as possible.
All of the staff are lovely! However, specifically concierge Devena is super helpful with directions when I moved here, helping me with packages, a great conversationalist and a real delight to the environment at Avalon White Plains and has made the transition here super easy!
Living in Avalon so far has been great with minor issues that have been resolved. Teddy in leasing answered all our questions and made it a easy move in experience. The front desk is super helpful at all hours of the day. Billy in the maintenance team has been great and helped us out quickly with any problems we have which is comforting to know if any other issues arise. There is a lot of outside noise if you face the garage/loading dock when the windows are open but little to no noise from neighboring apartments. Overall would recommend Avalon White Plains to anyone looking for a new home.
I have now been a resident at Avalon for 4 years. My experience has been fantastic, and that is foremost because of the wonderful help given byJennifer Nelson. Ms. Nelson is always kind and ready to assist with any issues that arise. She is the front person for the building. She takes care of anything that arises first and therefore what occurs down the line with whatever a resident needs is because she cares!
The management at Avalon runs a very tight ship. When I was looking for apartments, Wendy and Teddy were very responsive and answered all my lease-related questions. Upon moving in, I had a maintenance issue with my washer and dryer which was resolved in a timely and professional manner by Stuart. The property is both clean and well serviced and I feel secure living here.
Leasing agents need to tell people that the townhouses are not on the property. That is NOT a small detail. Also please DO NOT get excited about the pool. Apparently the only thing parents with small children do with their kids on the weekends is pack the pool. Wish Avalon would’ve done kiddie pools in addition to the main pool.
I rented from the Avalon for 5 years and had an overall AMAZING experience living there. Everyone from the maintenance staff to the leasing office is so wonderful to work with and are always so helpful.. The front desk is also amazing. I recently moved out to purchase a condo and miss the Avalon already! I wish i could move back!!! This was such a great place to live especially if you commute into the city. Its about a 5 minute walk to White Plains train station. The grounds on the property are so well kept and their additions to the building are so convenient (gym, barbeque, playground for kids). They provide trolleys to bring your food / luggage upstairs. The hallways are always well maintained. If i could give this building 10+ stars i would!!! AVALON WHITE PLAINS IS THE BEST!!
Lived here for almost 2 months now. Facilities are spotless, staff is friendly, location is the perfect distance from downtown and train station. Quiet neighborhood, but the restaurants and bars on Mamaroneck Ave. are just a 5-10 minute walk if you want them. Most recently, the shower drain backed up slightly. Submitted a maintenance request and Billy was here the next morning. Fixed the drain no problem, made sure it didnt back up at all and was very adamant that we should call maintenance if there was even the slightest problem. Employees like Billy are the reason were so happy at Avalon White Plains. Highly recommended!
Friendly staff, from concierge to maintenance to the leasing office. Finally I found a place that the landlord cares about your living quality, and whatever needs to be repaired, the maintenance team will get it done almost within 24 hours, even for the air-conditioner and the washer, thats phenomenal. The building location is really convenient, walking distance to shopping malls, groceries, train station, but not too close to have a really quiet neighborhood. I work in the city and this is the 2nd year living here, so far so good!
Have been living here for almost 2 years now. Have had an amazing experience and the staff be it the leasing office, front desk or maintenance staff, everyone is extremely courteous and helpful. A few mentions who have made our living here a memorable experience. Patrick and Chris at the leasing office have always been helpful and caring and have always understood the needs and helped us. At the front desk Richard, Jennifer and the other staff is always welcoming. And the entire maintenance staff is always there to help you and always tend to exchange pleasantry when you meet them while roaming around the building.Would recommend people to visit this place and be a part of this community.
I love the Avalon White Plains. I’ve felt cared about, from Jennifer and Danny at the concierge desk to Mario and Anthony in maintenance. Everyone is responsive, friendly and exceeded my expectations. Sandra is terrific and really listens. Patrick, Wendy and Chris are welcoming and accommodating. My move-in and move out experience were easy and organized. All of the staff is warm and friendly. They feel like they are my extended family. I’m sad to leave but will return the end of next year to do a monthly, furnished rental. Thank you all for making me feel at home.TB
I recently moved from an apartment in an Avalon building to another apartment at the same location. The management team, specifically Sandra Arias, Wendy Rojas, Sadik Rizai and Denilson Silva, went above and beyond to ensure that our move went as smoothly and as effortlessly as possible. Thanks to the entire team for making it (and keeping it) a great place to live!
I truly enjoyed my residence at Avalon White Plains. The staff are always helpful and responsible. The maintenance team is very professional and efficient. The location and the community amenity are amazing. I want to give special thanks to Patrick Annunziata and Teddy Gleason, who made my life at Avalon so easy and convenient! Highly recommended.
I lived here for for 5+ years and couldnt be happier! I just moved to the 7th floor with an amazing view! The maintenance crew has been outstanding to my little needs over the years. They are fast and very professional! The leasing office is also a pleasure. They are quick to respond and very helpful/accommodating. The concierge, leasing & maintenance crew make my life easier easier and enjoyable everyday. They take great care of everything! Close walk to so many places. It is worth every penny! No complaints here. Thanks Avalon WP!!! :)
Very nice maintenance guy Rahiem, I really appreciate his hard work and professional altitude.I have been living here for more than 5 years. Very appreciate the team provide such a great community in the area. Nice events, excellent maintenance service and friendly concierge group. It would be great choice for people who are seeking a comfortable and high quality place to settle.
Renting at the Avalon WP has been a wonderful experience for our family. The leasing office personnel, concierge and maintenance staff have been beyond helpful. Everything is taken care of in a timely fashion and always with a smile. There are many amenities offered in the building. I love the fact that you can walk to downtown White Plains in minutes, and enjoy the fabulous restaurants. The Farmers Market is also close. Anyone looking for a long term or short rental I would say that the Avalon is the place. I highly recommend it!
I moved into Avalon White Plains yesterday and had issues with fitting my furniture. Hughes, a building employee, personally helped me remove my furniture! He was so kind. He saw I was struggling and offered assistance immediately. I am so happy to be part of the Avalon community!
We lived in the Avalon White Plains for 2 years and it was a wonderful experience. Very friendly neighborhood and all services provided were excellent. All the team working for Avalon are always ready to help and willing to provide residents with the best service possible. You can do everything on a walking distance. Our move in and move out experience were very smooth.
Took a tour of Avalon white plains with the consultant named Teddy. Both he and the property were wonderful. Teddy was very knowledgeable and helpful and answered all my questions and took plenty of time to show me multiple apartments. The building itself was beautiful and very clean and everyone seemed really nice. I hope to live here next summer when I move!!!
Moved into the building in April. The move was made easy with the help of the leasing office - Sandra, Wendy, and Chris. The apartment looked brand new thanks to the Maintenance Staff. It was so nice I asked the names of the people who got the apartment ready for us - Anthony, Steve, Danny and Daniel did an amazing job! Lived here for a months and love being able to utilize the pool, grills, rec room. This place is great and the staff makes the place unbelievable. So happy to be here !
The maintenance staff here are amazing, courteous, and really get the job done while trying to maintain the least disruption possible. My experience with Romulo in particular has been top notch from his management of a building issue that required him to come daily for two weeks and move my stuff in and out of the cabinets as required to correct the issue. He would get 15 stars if I could. The concierge here is wonderful as well - from randomly loaning me a lighter for a birthday cake to keeping an eye on things, no complaints. The management staff at Avalon White Plains are subpar for a building that is one of the most expensive and considered luxury in the area. Generally speaking, I dont have major issues, but I am not fond of the lack of better communication skills from the management staff.Residents were especially weary when we had a major fire alarm issue, causing false fire alarms to go off more than 24 times in 2 weeks randomly. Folks like myself work from home, we have plenty of families with young children in the building.Or an issue with the UPS driver, which the building suddenly emailed us 3 days prior to let us know they wont accept packages at the front desk anymore unless the driver places them in the hub (without mentioning attempts at resolution prior to this) so now we may not get our packages?! and I was not happy about flooring that was installed that was several shades different from the flooring we currently have, leaving us with a floor that is yellow and dark brown in patches. NOT what I expect from again, one of the higher end, most expensive buildings in the area.Lastly, I am annoyed that they dont staff the concierge desk properly to account for their breaks, lunches or when they need to step away for duties. Its not the concierges fault.I am not sure what the staffs limitations are from Avalon HQ for solutions and etc, however their communication skills arent what I would expect from a higher end building.
Living at Avalon white plains is wonderful and that is mostly due to the fabulous staff in the leasing office and the maintenance team! I have dealt with Chris, Sandra, pat and Wendy in the leasing office on numerous occasions and have always received top quality customer service. I have also entered a few service requests to the maintenance team and my apartment was taken care of promptly and professionally by Anthony each time. Avalons motto is time well spent and I fully agree! I would recommend Avalon White Plains to anyone looking for luxury living!
We were excited to get into our new apartment at the Avalon White Plains. Patrick was very polite, helpful and was incredibly knowledgeable about the building and the overall process. This is an amazing complex and staff makes it feel like a community.Phenomenal experience.
The Avalon might be a good choice for you.The Pros:~good in apartment maintenance~24 Hr Concierge~Quiet~ Well built, quality materials~short walk to White Plains train station~lots of amenities, pet-friendlyThe Cons:~Small apartments~high cost per square foot~ugly hallways, entrances from garageThe Avalon White Plains is owned by one of the largest, if not the largest REIT in the country. So you have a corporate owner with all that implies.Professionally managed, seems to play it very straight, but very focused on maximizing profits. So get ready to pay for everything. The Avalon White Plains fills a full square block at tthe edge of downtown White Plains. White Plains has long been a what a developer wants, a developer gets kind of place. The result is a sea of unrelenting brick, cement, and glass. Ugly above-ground garages create an ugly latticework throughout the city. Building are allowed to be built out so far that sidwalks narrow so two people can hardly pass on a sidewalk. So give the Avalon credit for planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and creating mini-parks with benches, making the greenest and most attractive block in downtown White Plains. The complex consists of a nice looking14 story tower and town homes, really small duplex aprtments that go around 3 sides of the blcok and look like attarctive 5-story town homes. They are actually tw0-story aparrments and on top of them (looking like upper floors of the town houses) are three floors of apartments. These are the so-called town-house apartments. The Avalon has an ugly above ground garage too, but the architects have cleverly hidden it because it is hidden on three sides by the 5 story town homes and by the tower on the 4th side.Outide the town is a nice swimming pool, and a nice barbecue area. The basement floor of the Tower has a library, a common room, and a very nice helathclub. Everything in the tower is squeeky clean. The pool is spotless. The barbecues cleaned every morning. There is a 24-hour Concierge, and the concierge staff is great, Very helpful. We found the staff at The Avalon to be very nice.If you have a dog, he or she wil be in heaven. There are many dogs (you pay an initial fee and then a monthly fee) and they have a ball. The maintenance staff is very good. We only had two issues in our apartment and they were there in an hour, fixed everything. The fixtures in the aparment are not designer level but they are pretty good quality. Hot wanter is instant and plenty of it. I would call the apartments utilititarian. No nice design elements, no style, but they work. The White Plains train station is about an 8-minute walk. White Plains has express trains all day and all night, probably the best service in Westchester for commuting in to the city. The station is always being remodeled, it is currently under constrcution, but the MTA never has a decent budget for maintenance. So you have dirty new bathrooms instead of dirty old bathrooms. The station has been a pit for years. We lived in the town house aparmtents, They were the stepchild in the building. General out-of-apartment maintenance not as good, terrible entrances from the garage, our front entrance to the building was always a mess. The maintenance in the Tower seems much better. The garage is priced by floor. The higher up you are willing to drive, the cheaper it is. Top floor leak when it rains, grabage areas wet from leaks, falling plaster in entraces to town home apartments. The Avalon says they realize the work is overdue. Proably not in the budget for 2019, maybe next year.By the way, the Avalon has demand priciing. If you are lucky you might get an apartment hundreds of dollars less per month depending on what demand is like at the time you rent. If the rental agents tell you it is a good deal this month, they are not kidding. So, all in all, if you need or want to be in White Plains The Avalon can be a good place to hang out for a few years. You will pay a lot per square foot, but you will not be inconvenienced by bad maintenance or other issues.
We have lived at the Avalon for three years now. To say their Maintenance Team is fantastic is an understatement! We had an issue with our washing machine TODAY and it was fixed TODAY! In a matter of minutes! Sadik, the manager heard our concerns and was on it right away! He sent Mario right up! When Marie arrived, we explained the situation, he assessed it and within minutes the issue was resolved! They were very dependable, accommodating, understanding, helpful, fast, and easy to work with. Thank you Sadik, Mario, and the entire Maintenance Team at Avalon White Plains for keeping us safe!
Beware before signing a lease!Pricey rents however building does have a full complement of amenities so you do get some perks for the price. Please beware when moving out that you will be charged full replacement fees for even the most minor damage. Examples: a trivial stain on a carpet that is the size of a dime is charged for carpet replacement. A slight bend in one blind (still fully usable) is charged for complete blind replacement. We feel as if they are exploiting tenants for replacing items when they do not need to be replaced. We have been renting for the past 7 years and have never had this experience hence the 1 starAddendum:I took the advice provided to contact customer care and this was not helpful. They reviewed why the charges were listed and how the contract justifies the cost of the charge without taking into account the severity of damage. In fact, there is an error and we have been double charged rent and fees for this month just to add insult to injury. While the building is clean, well located... for peace of mind and better customer service I would certainly look elsewhere
Anthony and Ignazio are awesome! So helpful, whenever we need something they will go out of their way to help us out! This summer, the pool was kept at a perfect temperature and always clean. They are both very friendly and knowledgeable about everything that requires fixing. They really care about helping out the residents with anything they are having a problem with.
This is an amazing apartment complex! The staffs are super friendly and helpful - special thanks to Wendy who helped me print out my documents before I was able to get a printer myself. The terrace by the pool is just the perfect hang out spot - you can grill and chill with no hustles. My studio is super spacious and bright, and the move-in process couldn’t be smoother as a consequence of the entire team’s efforts! I would highly recommend this place to my friends :)
I moved twice within Avalon .My last move from 8 to 12 floor was very easy compared to last time a year ago and this is due the help of Mr. Patrick at the office . He was very helpful . He helped me in reserving the elevator at last minute ( I was very late ) but he managed to get me a spot on the day of the moving .He response to the phone calls and emails in very time manner and he trying to help me and also called to ask if I need any help in the moving .I think Avalon customer service quality is going up and improving .Thank you Mr. Patrick for the help .
Moving to Avalon White Plains has been a very positive experience. We toured the property with Patrick in April, and quickly realized that Avalon White Plains has exceptional features, first the decked out fitness center, to the outdoor swimming pool to the game room and library, AWP has it all, with added benefit of being a short walk to Metro North. It was a pleasure to deal with Patrick during the leasing process as well as during move in. He is always around, and very helpful! The concierge staff is a welcome benefit of this building. All of them (Richard, Jennifer, & Yvonne) are so very friendly and helpful. After moving in we had a small issue with the fridge. Mario came up and took the whole thing apart and fixed the problem that day. We are very happy with our decision to choose Avalon White Plains as our new community.
My husband and I lived in the townhome section of the Avalon for two years. We loved that section of the community. It was quiet, clean and enjoyable. I wont font, it was expensive, but we got a lot for our money. We got great space, storage, amenities including door man, dry cleaning pick up, the gym and the pool. I personally, appreciated the buildings manager Sandra Arias. She was very personable, helpful and resourceful. Our first year in the building, I came to wanting to use the Library for my television shows taping. Since I didnt have much of a blueprint, the Avalon company said no. After a completed season, I came back to Sandra asking to use the room again. She went back to her bosses and this time they said yes. I felt very humbled that she would try again. I recommend this building to everyone. The management is great and the experience is positive!
(7/4/2019) Avalon Team, as you know, the fire alarms were blaring in the middle of the night last night once again; waking my family and guests up and causing major worry of a real fire. This is the second holiday in a row that the alarms have misfired and caused major disruption for no valid reason. The last holiday was Father’s day. I dont think I have to mention the countless other times when it has misfired on non-holidays. How do we know when its a real fire? This situation is extremely dangerous. It is also extremely unfair to come home to this luxury apartment after a long day at work just to find out the fire alarms are misfiring, the elevators are grounded, and if I choose to walk up to my apartment, I have to hike up 15 flights of stairs. I know this is not the maintenance teams direct fault, so I will be sending a similar message to the management and above. We have had enough of this as we pay thousands of dollars per month to live here. Additionally, I think it is important to note that I have removed my 5 star yelp review of the Avalon White Plains until this issue is resolved. For the money we pay, the absolute least we should have is a properly functioning fire alarm system.—— Sandra responds with blanket “We are working on it letter” ———(7/5/2019) Sandra,Thank you for your response. I realize that you guys are working on it, but unfortunately the pace that you are doing so is unacceptable as it has been many months that this building has been plagued with these issues. As I am sure you can understand, it is hard to take your word for it at this point with no visible progress month after month. This issue needs to be rectified in a form other than a blanket, “We are working on it” email.I have been a resident for many years in this building with many lease renewals under my belt. I know you guys are better than this, but unfortunately as of right now, I am hesitant to renew my current pent house lease. Please let me know what kind of restitution in form of rent compensation you are willing to provide for the distress, dangerous situation, and disruption this has caused.—-After following up due to no response a week later, Sandra states that no form of restitution will be provided even though they have yet to fix the issue. ——This previous Saturday, 7/13/19, The AC compressor went out on my living room AC. Mind you, this unit has been serviced tens of times this year. I have pets in the apartment, so as the apartment rose over 80 degrees, this became an emergency. I put in a maintenance ticket, Mario Z came to look at it and I was met with an abrupt, “yeah it’s blown, we are out of replacements, I’ll let them know Monday”. As this answer was unacceptable, I spoke to the other Avalon staff on site and one was able to check stock on the AC units. There were indeed units in stock, Mario just did not feel like replacing it this day. After finding that out, I called an emergency ticket in, and a little while later Mario comes rolling in with a new unit, unable to explain where he found it. He installed the unit, said he was going to come back the following day to finish installing the controller. He never came back. I told them not to bother as I was tired of moving the furniture back and forth every time I make a maintenance request for this unit. They can take care of it when I move out.I am pasting all my past communication in this review as I believe it is important to convey the seriousness of these issues to potential future residents. Throughout all these events, this building has gone from a 4 star building to a 0 star building. If I was able to constructively evict myself and make it financially feasible, I would. I pay almost $4,000 a month for a PENTHOUSE apartment. There should never be a single issue - ever. Especially at the magnitude and frequency that they have been. My fire alarm emails were partially ignored, maintenance tickets about the alarm were prematurely closed, and 0 restitution was provided.
Maintenance service is great !Billy came to fix the problems with my clogged washing basin and toilet water dripping today. He worked very enthusiastically and professionally.Thank you very much Billy !I am feeling comfortable and safe living here in Avalon White Plains.
Patrick was so warm and welcoming during this big move for my mom! He was extremely attentive, responsive, kind, and informative throughout the entire process. He made us feel like we were home from the minute we walked into the office. Highly recommend him and his team if you are looking for great service and an awesome apartment !
I was very happy living here in Avalon until a month ago me and my family notice the smell of marijuana in our apartment. Someone keep smoking marijuana in the building and the smell spread to other apartments via the vent system. Now that the building management is trying to look into the issue, they sent out emails to other tenant to emphasis their no-smoking policy and they offer us a air filter to alleviate the problem. I hope that they can find out who is the offender soon.
Like the words in that song say, simply the best, better than all the rest! I consider all the amenities and the proximity to shopping and major railway transportation is got to be the best! What makes the Avalon number one all the people that run it! There’s Anthony energy they take your maintenance I no one else. There’s a concierge people calling Yvonne, Jennifer, Richard and Richard yes I double down on the Richards! They give us everything we want plus comfort and respect ✊. I’m thrilled to be a resident here I wish to stay for a lot longer time! Sincerely, Michael Taub
I have been living at the Avalon for several months now and am satisfied with the living experience here. The amenities are good for what you would expect in NY. The apartments are a little small but the location makes up for that minor inconvenience. The concierges at the front desk Richard, Jennifer and Yvonne are terrific. I have previously lived at Bank Street Commons and when comparing the two I would say that The Avalon is a all around better.
People who work at Avalon are their most valuable asset: Sandra, Chris, Concierge Staff and the Maintenance Staff make living at Avalon White Plains a real, wonderful experience. Apartments are great, common areas like lobby, library and gym are really nice, but again, it is the people working here that make this environment safe and comfortable for all residents.
My wife and I rented an apartment at Avalon White Plains last week after relocating from the home we owned for the the past 27 years. We really cannot say enough about Teddy Gleason, the leasing agent. He was professional, helpful, responsive, cooperative and patient. Too bad we do not run into more people like Teddy - things would run so much smoother.
My family has enjoyed our time at Avalon. A great location to basically everything you need. 7-10 min walk to the White Plain train station, 5-10 min walk to great restaurants and shopping malls. Last but not least, the management staff and maintenance staff have been awesome. They respond to every single request very quickly in a professional, friendly manner. Two thumbs up.
Ive had the pleasure of being a resident of Avalon White Plains since 2013. My experience here has been nothing short of amazing. Sandra Arias, Wendy Rojas, Maintenance and Security staff work together to make the environment safe and comfortable for all residents. The location is perfect, within walking distance to the train as well as shopping and entertainment. Great Place!!!!!!
I am used to owning my own place and love luxury and nice things. I recently moved from Seattle and chose the Avalon White Plains as my new home. The place I live must look good, be kept clean and provide simple living -- which means all appliances work and quick response to any service requests (which they have hit the mark on that 100%). For example, I have been having issues with my washing machine since moving in. I submitted a service request late on a Friday evening as my washer failed me again. The service request was fulfilled the very next morning while I was out running my errands. When I came home, I was happily surprised to find a brand new, beautiful, Maytag Duet washing machine in my apartment. The maintenance crew really cares about your comfort and happiness. Special thanks goes out to Anthony and Lucas for taking the initiative and putting in a new machine rather than trying to fix mine again. Im really happy living here... and I have very high expectations.
Today, there was a Halloween costume party at Avalon White Plains and it was a great time fir my kids and seeing all of the other kids from the community dressed up in their costumes and having a great time! I love that the community does such events for their residents. Everyone always works hard from leasing, maintenance and concierge. Thank you so much for making this such a wonderful place to live!!!
We really like living at the Avalon in White Plains. By far the service especially the maintenance crew is the best! Every single one of our service requests is handled almost immediately (even on weekends and late at night)!! Anthony and Lucas go above and beyond for all of our needs. We are so appreciative of all they do and they are part of the reason we continue to stay here.
I want to say thank you to Danny, from maintenance, for stopping by to help with my apartments fire alarm. He was very kind and was able to do the work in no time. And thank you to the Avalon team for all their help during this difficult time and providing us with new activities like the Virtual Painting class it was fun!!
My husband and I enjoyed living in Avalon White Plains until 1 month ago where we constantly smell marijuana in the hallway and through our bathroom pipe. A couple of times we woke up from smelling marijuana through the bathroom pipe at midnight, 5AM and 8AM. I am not opposing people smoking marijuana but I must say secondhand marijuana smoke is very frustrating especially on working days. We informed the building through email and concierge but we don’t see any improvements. They said there are some bad apples in the building during COVID.Initially we thought this place will be a long stay place but given the situation now we will reconsider. Other than that, the staff is very friendly, we appreciate all the cleaning work theyve done during COVID
Billy from maintenance responded quickly to our water leak. He was at the Apt quickly considering I called at 915 PM. Made sure the leaked stopped and was back again first thing in the morning. Made all the necessary repairs and brought in a fan to dry the floor. With service like that it pays to rent at the Avalon White Plains. Thanks Billy.
Ive done the research and must say the Avalon White Plains is a wonderful place to live. 15 Bank Street is a nice building, but positioned a little to close to railroad tracks, the windows are small, the parking is managed by a third party. The Gramercy is positioned a little to far away from things. The building feels old, and the apartments arent that well appointed. Many of which still have Formica counters, combined with smaller windows as well. I also visited the Halsted. No in unit washer and dryer was a deal breaker here. The Avalon has been a dream. Real hardwood floors, not laminate. The building construction is concrete between apartments so the sound noise between apartments is virtually non-existent. The elevators are fast, and they have three, so you never have to wait. The move in process is the easiest Ive ever seen. Management was also extremely helpful when my movers where late, this has also been the case when furniture deliveries where late. Management was totally understanding and flexible. The outdoor pool has plenty of seating both covered and uncovered with chairs always available. The gym also has all the equipment you need, and there is always cardio equipment available. Plus there are 6 grills available year round so there is always one to use. Also in 10 months I have never had a problem with Guest Parking, which is a luxury in White Plains, and this building seems to have more guest parking then any other building Ive visited in White Plains.Recently loosing both my parents its important that an apartment can be my home. This goes far past the large floor to ceiling windows, hardwood floors, solid not hollow doors, high ceilings and great amenities. The team that manages this building makes it my home. The 24hr concierge has never made one mistake with my many packages or dry cleaning, and they are always extremely helpful. Richard, Jennifer, Yvonne and Linda always provide warm hellos, and are always looking to help. The management team here is great, and so on your side. Sandra is so down to earth, and really listens, leading a team making this feel like home. She goes above and beyond, and I have heard this from other residence as well. Cathy is one of the most responsive people Ive dealt with in my life. I sometimes think she knows the email Im going to send before I send it. Her responses are always so immediate... she may not be human. Wendy and Christopher are also excellent. I dont deal with them as much, but they always have warm hellos and smiles when I see them. Kyla Grout who showed me my current apartment and who has moved on to work at another Avalon was amazing during my lease signing. I probably had more questions and request then anyone she has ever dealt with and she was so on it, making my transition to White Plains effortless. Finally maintenance here is second to none. Anthony is the best person I have ever dealt with. He knows the building like the back of his hand, and the one plumbing issue I had was fixed in minutes, and he left the place cleaner then he found it. I think the building secretly has clones of him. Because hes always on top of it. I totally trust the team here entering my apartment when Im not here, even thought there is always the option to be here if you like. Finally location location location. The Avalon has all the necessities. with 10 yards of the building. A great Italian sit down restaurant (Graziellas), the best Dim Sum in Westchester (Aberdeen ), and a great Asian market across the street. If you walk two more blocks there are more restaurants then I can name. Not to mention within two blocks you also have Barnes and Noble, Target, Shoprite, AMC Movie Theatre, two malls, Chase and Bank of America. Also the DMV is across the street so if your moving from out of state it makes the transition even more effortless. I do love it here. Plus the Metro North is an 8 minute walk, and your at Grand Central in 35 minutes.Avalon thank you for making this place home. Apartments are easy to find. Homes are not.
We had a great experience with the staff at Avalon White Plains. During the leasing process, they were always available to respond to any inquiries. Additionally, during the pandemic lockdown, they were extremely supportive and were constantly sending out communication!
I did not pay for this space so I cannot speak to charges, and rent raises (like other commenters have). But I can say - location, location, location, location. amazing location.... oh and beautiful view and furnishings. However this place is more of a short term lease space. Move here for a while, then find a more permanent location? Has a hotel vibe to it.My apartment was minimal but modern and elegant. Overlooked White Plains and the mountain range beyond it. The concierge were always super friendly to me and I felt safe knowing that walking home late at night I would see someone greeting me upon entering the building (referencing that the neighborhood can be scary occasionally as a woman walking home in the dark).Had an issue with something in the apt. Maintenance came up a couple hours later to fix it! I even forget what was wrong, they fixed it so quick. The amenities were always spotless and friendly staff. Sometimes there were events in the base level entertainment room. Attended a few with free food/drinks.Thank you for the great times and friendly staff Avalon.
I am not an easy person to please, everyone at Avalon White Plains( where I have been for 6 years) probably knows that. But every time I have an emergency or a problem that requires me dealing with the leasing office I am always amazed. The commitment level of the young ladies running the office is quite astounding. Each one of them, but most recently the amazing Wendy, would really do anything to make sure my needs are met. I just had an emergency while traveling and they were the most helpful and amazing people ever, going out of their way to help fix something I couldnt have taken care myself. Congratulations to Avalon for having such a fantastic and loyal staff. This is the only reason I am still at Avalon after so many years
We have lived here for almost 2 months now and we absolutely love the place. Their maintainance person Daniel is very helpful and nice. We asked him to repair a kitchen cabinet and he was super professional and did that quickly. We have also referred friends to rent and they will also be joining us soon. Overall great place. Love it!
I recently visited Avalon White Plains to look for an apartment for my parents who are looking to downsize. I met with Wendy in the office and she explained different options that would work for my parents. The facilities were clean and modern. Everyone in the Office was very welcoming and once my parents house goes into closing, I will be returning to rent them an apartment!
The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The building and grounds are kept very, very clean. There are doggie stations on each block around the building, which is wonderful for dog walks. Concierge services (dry cleaning drop-off and pick-up, package delivery, etc.) are very helpful and convenient to have right here in the building. If you lived here, it would be hard to leave.
Typically, Im a believer in give someone (or something) enough time and they (or it) will disappoint you...However; after providing the people and services ample runway to align with my pessimism, my experience at Avalon White Plains has proven a staunch contrarian and exceeded all expectations. The location is brilliant, convenient to everything yet just beyond the reach of aggravation generated by the hustle and bustle of the city.I would not question if someone informed me that the Staff had trained in a 5-star star hotel or Michelin starred restaurant. Everyone --- from the concierges to the maintenance team to the rental agents --- is genuinely happy to be a part of the property, eternally polite and overflowing with service acumen.Patrick Annunziata, Sales & Service Supervisor, has gone well beyond the call of duty to make certain my stay here has been beyond reproach. If only I could find a complaint to provide him with an opportunity to work his magic...
I lived at Avalon White Plains for 6 months in 2017. Overall I think theyre an expensive rental thats not worth the money and the stress. The good: The building has a gym and a pool. You have to pay for them a community fee though so its almost like having a paid subscription to an expensive gym in the city. My one bedroom apartment had a decent size for one person. I had granite counter-tops in the kitchen and enough storage for kitchen stuff. The building had 3 carrying carts that you can get from the concierge - that helped me with the move in/move out. The kitchen sink had food disposal. The bad: Could only open the windows 2 or 3 inches. Felt like in a prison. The appliances (dishwasher, washing machine, dryer) were pretty old. The floor was not sealed so basically youre not even supposed to mop with water and its rather easy to scratch the wood (not good for your deposit!). Theres no light bulbs in the living room and the bedroom. Youre only allowed to have floor lamps in those areas :| They refused to give me a spare key fob because I only had my own name on the lease. They supposedly have a bike storage - I come from Amsterdam, a proper bike storage is in front of the building where you can easily get your bike from and go out in the city. The bike storage at Avalon was underneath the building with no exit/entrance directly outside. So it would take me 10 minutes to get the bike out of there. They say theyre a pet friendly community, but you actually have to pay $600 upfront fee + $60/month to have a pet (cat, dog, etc. doesnt matter what kind of pet). They have a parking garage but its really expensive and they have some horrible speed bumpers between the floors that I dreaded whenever taking my car in/out. Last but not least, at move out I cleaned the apartment as good as anyone could with normal household supplies. Their evaluation was that it wasnt professional standard and they charged me $180 for professional cleaning services, which I think its completely ridiculous.
We haven been living in Avalon White Plains and we think it is a great and outstanding condominium and we think that Ms.Sandra Arias and her team provide great assistance and are very friendly and helpful. They are also very kindred like a humble family. It is also very sanitary. It is also located in the middle of White Plains which makes it accessible to a lot of revenues.
Just moved in, so my comments at this point are about the leasing and onboarding process - which was outstanding due to the responsiveness and helpfulness of Teddy and Sefa (hope I spelled her name right). Moving is never easy...during a pandemic an order of magnitude more complicated and painful. Thanks so much to you, Teddy and Sefa, for making this process manageable.
For my two bedroom, two bathroom apartment I recently learned that Im paying $600 more per month than Avalon is asking for the same apartment two floors below. As of 11/25/2017 that difference has increased to well over $800, which is more than 25%. And when my 60 day renewal notice comes in December, my rent will NOT be less in the new lease to reflect the HUGE drop in rents since I signed my current lease just seven months ago.My renewal in mid December was for 39% more than an empty apartment four floors below. It peaked to almost $1,300 more, 41%! I gave notice that I would not renew.Avalon is a good place to live until it isnt. When the renting game becomes too much, leave. Dont play musical apartments.1/10/2018: my apartment has been listed for rent since I gave 60 day notice that I would not renew the lease, which expires 2/23/18. It will be available to a new tenant 3/3/18. The rent being asked can fluctuate each day. Today it is $3,455. Thats base rent. I am paying $4,015 base rent. My renewal was for $4,386 base rent.My rent would be $931 (27%) more than the new tenant. It seems an odd business model.
We have lived in this beautiful White Plains property (Town Homes section) even before our residence was open to the public. We leave with a heavy heart as we are moving out of the country as I accepted a diplomatic assignment in Asia.To summarize:Physical Plant and maintenance personnel1) Avalon White Plains very well maintained2) staff always addresses maintenance items in a timely manner3) staff very pleasant and polite. We offered a tip once after addressing our maintenance request. They refused the tip because they were just doing their job.Personnel are very friendly, professional and accommodating.1) Concierge: Richard, Yvonne and Jennifer to name a few. Deliveries (notifications for receiving and for pick up) are noted in a timely manner.2) Sales staff: Wendy and Sandra - the very same ladies who showed us our town home and assisted us in our move (arriving and leaving). They answered all our questions and concerns. As a future resident, you will be very happy here. This place is so quiet and is walking distance to Metro North (35 express ride to Grand Central terminal), DMV, Aberdeen Cantonese Restaurant (best dimsum in White Plains), the Malls etc. Mamaroneck Avenue (where all the bars are) is a 10 minute walk.Living in White Plains is akin to living in Manhattan, albeit a smaller and friendlier footprint. There is even a ball that counts down and welcomes the New Year on Main Street (5 min walk from Avalon). You will feel at home here the same way as we did.
Anthony and Ignazio are the best! Always available and willing to help with a smile on their faces! Whenever we have a problem they are always there to fix and make life easier! Pool tempeture was perfect! Maintenance on the apartment always quick. There is no problem they can’t fix!
Building is clean and well maintained however the parking issues will drive you insane. The parking spots are incredibly tight and 2 SUVs cant fit side by side and allow a person to exit the vehicle without hitting the others door. A visitor came and parked next to my spot and scratched my vehicle causing $800 in damage. After reaching out to Avalon management they were of 0 help besides repeating there are no cameras and we are not responsible for damage in the garage. Contact the police and your insurance company. They couldnt offer up any type of help with identifying the visitors vehicle. I even had a description but they wouldnt answer any questions. Makes you wonder how a company would allow a visitor into the lot without having any information about make, model, license plate, etc. Very unsafe.
Nice apartments, facilities are nice but they are very restrictive on usage. They will jack the rent up significantly (>10%) after the second year and be warned, upon leaving they will try to take as much of your security deposit as they can. They must believe its there to cover for regular wear and tear of the apartment, not just for damage. Expect to pay for painting, cleaning (even if you leave the place spotless) and carpet replacement all out of your security deposit once you leave (~$500 ). They also use a third-party vendor to collect for utilities, facility fee and garbage collection. They are a bit shifty as they change the due date of your bill every month and will charge $5 for late payment.
Maintenance was really wonderful!!!!!!★★★★★I moved here only 3weeks and I am not accustomed to adapt and use things, but today the two repair employees visited my home were awesome~!! Ignazio and Anthony drop by my house to check fire alarm. Because this morning, i cooked fish...due to smoke, my fire alarm alarmed. The employee, Ignazio so explained well why that happened and told me what to do when i am in danger in the future so carefully!!!!. I was so appreciated it.!!!! its really moving~~~~~ Moreover! he recommended to use the tub strainer~~to use clean bathtub~~so thankful to him.🙏 ha~ha~ha~ Also, He checked 3 more fire alarms in my house very carefully.!!I also asked to check my windows,( there were lots of things to ask in my house..)and he repaired beautifully and perfectly!!That looked not so easy to repair~~!! But he did repaired 4 broken windows in my house!! Anthony who drop by with him also did a great job.Thankfulness to absolutely great two guys~~~~~I was so satisfied and they make me so happy kkkkkkkk~~~~~~~They are vrey best maintenance emplyees in this apartments.👍👏😄😄😄
Always impressed with the professionalism of the staff but today Mario took the extra step. Came up to fix a kitchen sink leak. Immediately recognized the problem and fixed it. And then noticed some other repair work needed in the apartment and took care of it without being asked. Thank you.
I lived here for a year in 2016-2017 and had a fantastic experience. A quick walk to the Metro North for getting into the city as well as a quick walk down to the bars and restaurants on Mamaroneck Ave. The building is well kept with a a fantastic front door staff to help. The price is a little high, especially when coupled to a monthly train pass into the city. But its quiet and a stark contrast to living in Manhattan. Would certainly recommend.
Avalon White Plains team is wonderful and always goes extra miles irrespective of your request. In particular, Wendy Rojas is a magnificent and dedicated community consultant who always look at your perspectives and issues to provide a solution that will make you happy.
Seriously snobby management. I tried to go look at an apartment. The leasing office is open on Saturday. But even with someone on site, they still wont show you an apartment without an appointment. The lady offered to give me some information. Seriously? I can get that on the web site. If they are advertising that the leasing office is open, they need to have more than one person working, or have a sign saying by appointment only According to the web site, they have a lot of apartments available. No wonder. Who would want to live under such arrogant management?
My mom returned to her apartment after a hospital stay so I spent the night here. In the early morning I noticed the sink had a slow drain and the Dw had standing water in it. I called the service number and I swear by the time I hung up the phone it seemed Romulo knocked on her door. He repaired the sink clog and he was kind , courteous and professional! I wish I lived here and had Romulo as my service man!
DONT BECOME YET ANOTHER AVALONBAY VICTIM. Avalonbay is a literally a RICO Crime syndicate that employs an army of minions to lie about everything under the sun. STAY AWAY. They steal, cheat, lie, pollute and endanger human lives out of sick greed and an even more sick love of FASCISM and bullying. They are the modern day mafia, replete with bribing and coercing whomever they need to to cover up their crimes. Our politician and government is failing to protect us from these evil corrupt builders (no coincidence we have one in the White House also right now.) Im currently writing a Rolling Stone article on it--youll hear all about it. Just please! As someone who lives *not* under mob rule.

2022-05-01We moved in last year. The management group is super helpful, especially given that we are currently still in a pandemic. Whenever we need any maintenance in our unit or have any question about the property, they always response very quickly. I even received a gift package at my birthday. It really feels like home to live at Avalon White Plains.

2021-12-24Have been living here since August and I am very pleased with the community, the staff and the facilities. Common areas are cleaned and maintained very frequently, 24 hour concierge is always super friendly and helpful. Service requests are completed quickly. I enjoy using the gym here as it has ample equipment and space. The building is pet friendly and my puppy has been loving it here. I do wish there was an enclosed pet spot as the only walk area is the public sidewalk which gets a lot of vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Residents and/or guests do take advantage of the driveway parking which gets annoying at times. There is one specific car that overnight parks there, especially in the handicap parking, and cars are never towed away despite the warning staff puts on the windshields.

2022-02-24Ive lived at Avalon for 6 years and just recently moved out. I can definitely share some pros and cons about the place and Im choosing to do so under an anonymous name:Pros:-Proximity to train-Proximity to downtown areas-Great maintenance staff. If anything is ever broken, someone usually comes within 24 hrs, sometimes even less-I never lost a package here-Concierge staff are very nice - especially Jen!-Good kid play areasCons:-Smoking. The smoking situation has gotten really bad recently and that was one of the main reasons motivating me to move out. I have a small child and I prefer not to get second-hand smoke constantly. I think other people have also mentioned the smoking situation. It basically happens several times a week. Its so bad sometimes I feel like Im choking-Rent increase. You are guaranteed to get rent increase every year. This past year it jumped up 20%. Another main reason we decided to relocate-Money again. After I left, they called me regarding my balance and tried to charge me $300. I said that I did pay in full. They apologized and said that they made a mistake. I was pretty upset that if I wasnt paying attention I would have double-paid.-Safety. While I generally felt safe in the tower, I did hear that a family in the townhouse got robbedOverall I do think that the management cares more about money than their residents. However, it is a business and they have to operate like a business.

2022-04-23Very poor service. Leasing agent was on break. Didnt even say hello. Said im unable to take care of you. I asked if she was busy, and she said no. I ask for some basic information and didnt get my questions answered. Front desk was very rude.
