I arrived at this location to pick up my rental (a 4 door truck). Iasked them about a rental truck that was parked on the property. First Iwas told that the truck was rented out already and customer was comingback. Than I was told that they will make a phone call to the clientthat rented the car and find out if they are not coming and if so, theywere going to let me have the truck. I kindly informed them that I amwilling to wait, a while later I was told that the truck is notavailable. Meanwhile they offered me alternatives, In return, I askedthem for a chevy Tahoe that was parked. In reply I was told that theTahoe is like 200 dollars a day (which did not make any sense) I askedthem why was it so high and that I rent vehicles (with avis and othercompanies) all over the US. Usually the cost is 10 dollars or so perclass. The lady than said she can do a 100 dollars a day. To which Ireplied that it was still very high. She went into the system again andlater came up with a $40 dollars a day rate. I said it was a bit high. Ioffered $10 initially, than I upped my offer to $20 but she didntbudge. The icing on the cake was when the second lady stepped in and she asked whats going on, when I told her whats going on and she said that truck parked outside is not our truck its a passengers. Either way, it seemed as they both were just repeating different stories and I got the feeling that they did not want to give me the truck or an upgrade for a fair price. Neither of them spoke professionally. I left the place very disappointed and justdrove my own car for our vacation. I want to know why would they givesuch inconsistent statements? And why when they could not have the car I reserved, worked out a deal for me that made sense and everyone wouldhave walked happy. I did not ask for a free upgrade. I just thought theupgrade price was not correct as they kept changing it over and over.
Terrible customer service! I booked a car went in to pick it up LISA (employee) totally disregarded my reservation started cleaning her desk instead processing my rental. 2 white gentlemen came in and she stopped to help them and got them on their way. I would not like to believe that race had an issue to do with anything but it sure heck felt like it. Please avoid this location and if your African American please avoid LISA very unprofessional!!! I’ve been renting from for over 5 years never that location but all in all I’ve never had any issues ever. I am avid preferred and was treated as I came in asking for change. Please take your business to the airport location or even orchard park I’ve encountered some very pleasant people between the 2 locations! AVOID LISA!!!!!
Very friendly staff. We came from Niagara Falls CA to hire a vehicle here to go to Montreal. Why? We could not use our debit Mastercard in Canada to hire a pre booked car and we had a hotel booking in Montreal for the next day. We contacted Avis in Buffalo and Angela was extremely helpful finding us a vehicle. Thanks to Angela, our holiday continued very smoothly. A big thanks to Angela and the staff at Avis in Buffalo.
We had a problem but it was solved. Thanks to a great employee Angela Steele she step in to handle the problem when the manager walked away and told me to handle it through customer service due to his negligence. Angela steele saved the day thank you you should be the manager
Disgusting customer service!!! I had a reservation for a car rental at noon on a Sunday. When I arrived at 12pm the doors were locked . I waited 10 minutes in the cold for one of the employees to finish up with another customer and was told that they would not do anything to help me with my reservation because they closed at noon ! Terrible service!

2021-09-18Im done with Avis. After long flight I needed to search avis location together with my uber driver for more than an hour, why you ask, because 1477 main Street in Buffalo NY is .... Budget car rental and not Avis !!!! What blows my mind even more is Avis customer service people (3) argue with me that the location is there and signed as Avis....Guess what, its not ,see picture.I needed to cancel my reservation.What a joke of a company,

2020-09-11A person rented car from this company, hit me, drove off, abandoned rental a block away, and discovered by bfd.Ive filed claim and #Avis is dragging their feet in repairing my vehicle, not returning my calls, employees at Sedgwick not returning my calls for over a week (always a msg saying theyre out of office - Amy/Allison and their supervisor).I highly recommend all military, veterans and families not use Avis Budget.Avis doesnt seem to be aware that Sedgwick is negligent in resolving property damage to my car from hit/run accident on 6/20/20 involving Avis rental car.Sedgwick representative (April/Mike) are withholding repairs to my car until medical claim is completed.I therefore ask all military, veterans, first responders, clergy, churches, mosques, and all respective families stop using avis and budget car rentals.Im a retired disabled veteran being bullied by these corporations.Your continued patronage makes it susceptible for this happening to you or your loved ones; there are other businesses to rent vehicles from.Thanks for making the time and consideration as you search for the best place to rent a vehicle from.Silver KIA is Avis Rental Car.Black car is mine.

2022-07-03I wanted to rent a spaceship however they only had a Ford focus and a Nissan sienna, I took the sienna it was a great drive updated Apple CarPlay maybe maybe android auto Im not 100% sure but the car was smooth sailing second-best to a spaceship definitely nice staff got me in an out and I am pleased with my booking with Avis

2021-12-02Very disappointed with customer service. I Walked into Avis with my friend. She needed to rent a car through them. She totaled her car after hitting a deer, so needless to say her spirits arent high at the moment. The older gentleman made an insensitive joke, stating try not to hit another deer with this new vehicle. The gentleman that took care of us was very impersonable, didnt show a bit of empathy or compassion and certainly had no personality. You might as well hire a robot to work your front desk. Is it too much to just be a down to earth human being with some compassion?

2022-01-18Terrible customer service my vehicle was not clean I reached out to the company and did not receive any response my rental was also malfunctioning and when I returned it the agent said “ the rental is reaching 50k miles we expect some issues!” I will not rent from them again!!!

2021-05-10My May 2021 COVID-era rental was so bad its almost amusing. Weve all rented cars where the previous renter has smoked - that was definitely the case here. However, Ive rarely seen a car not even vacuumed inside, with food crumbs everywhere. Or cleaned in general: everything was sticky. In COVID times! From bad to worse: the check engine light came on during our drive (at just over 25,000 miles it makes me respect the person that broke the car). From worse to really sad: the previous renter had left a very personal document (no comment) in the car under the stained vizor. Look, neighborhood locations can be hard to run smoothly, but at least try!

2020-09-10Have rented from 1477 Main St location a few times, staff great. Got great car today, Ashley was my awesome customer service representative. She was was sweet, smart, polite, and really helpful. Another good experience!

2019-10-12Car was great and they gave me an upgrade even... but they have very shady business practices. None of the employees will tell you, but in the fine print of your rental agreement it says that if you drive less than 75 miles they will charge you an extra $15.99 fuel surcharge EVEN if you bring it back with a full tank of gas. The only way around this is showing them a receipt or calling customer service later when you notice the extra charge. When I picked up and dropped off the vehicle no one told me about this charge. Later when calling they said I should have read the fine print on the rental agreement. They did end up refunding me the fuel surcharge but it took a couple phone calls and I had to look up gas station, address, sale amount, gallons purchased, etc. It was absurd. I’m an Avis preferred member and have rented from them numerous times for business trips in the past but never drove less than 75 miles so didn’t learn about this shady policy. My company won’t be using them anymore. Be careful! I won’t be renting the Avis again.

2021-06-27The car they give me is not complete my perspectives!!!! When you put the break in 60mhp the car start shaking in the front above sides and smell pure cigarettes....and the size for the car is not standard SUV that look more like a Mini Cooper!!!!!!
