Nothing to do with Middletown location. More your website a bit misleading. I reserved a Kia soul and when I went to pick up they had a Mazda hatchback. Very disappointing.

I always go here if I have a choice. Sometimes I cant because of the price fluctuations but usually its my goto for the last 5 years. The cars are great, rarely had an issue with a vehicle. The service is great as well; no one is more efficient and professional than Jomayra.
Quite slow service, perhaps due to a new employee running the desk a, but typically as a preferred member I can be out of an Avis office in a few minutes maximum, and this experience it took nearly 30 minutes before I had my vehicle. Car was fine though for reference.
Booked a rental weeks ago, go to pick it up and they wont give it to us due to not having a major credit card though we paid in advance. called the head office and they said they should have at least done a debit credit check to see if it fit the parameters and rent to us. They never did that. Now we are left with no idea how to get to the airport TOMORROW MORNING. Horrible customer service. If you are able, go to enterprise instead.
Always has fast friendly service. Cars are always very clean and in great condition. Have been renting cars here for years and never had a problem. Would recommend to anyone.
Book a car rental 3 weeks in advance. called to make sure there was no problem. got there the morning if pick up and the did have it. not a dependable rental company. dont recommend using them.
I rent 3 cars a week with Avis, at different locations. Jomayra and her team at the middletown location provided me with the best service. HANDS DOWN BEST AVIS IN AREA

Avis on cottage st in middeltown New York is the best car rental I have ever experienced. they go the extra mile for there coustomers. there cars are always clean and ready to go....
I rented a vehicle for a school related function. I explained we would be returning the next evening, the woman working there mentioned nothing about being charged an additional 3 days and $433 dollars on top of that.

This rental car place is more expensive than Enterprise but you can return a car and rent on my day of the week, the customer service is good, but the staff is not very knowledgeable about the vehicles

2022-07-08I was able to locate the rental office easily. This particular location was chosen because it was close to where I was staying. I was able to pick up my rental within 20 minutes. Charles was very helpful, knowledgeable and nice. He helped me pick out an alternate car from the one chosen based on my reservation. The car given had no issues and had a full tank of gas.

2021-08-24Had the most terrible experience ever with Avis. I was charged $1,100 dollars extra for charges that made no sense. I am a single mother of 4 including a newborn. They accused me of smoking in the car. I told them I have not ever touched a cigarette or anything. I expressed what proof they have and the company said a picture when asked to see the picture. They claimed it was a lie and didnt have proof but the representative still didnt apologize. I asked why did they assume this, and basically the representative said because I know how some Spanish people are. Shocked because I was clearly discriminated and had these biased actions towards me. She also expressed why would I a single mother not have my own car if I have money to rent one. Really? Is it your concern now to try and be in my personal life? I felt like this was done on purpose and I will he seeking legal help. Avis cannot continue this. Be careful and be aware.

2021-10-04I reserved my car online. It was for a Camry or like vehicle. I received a Kia Forte which is not the same class of vehicles as a Camry. I was given a car with 7/8 of a tank of gas and was told to return it with the same amount. Upon returning my vehicle with 7/8 a tank of gas. I was told they go by how many miles to empty the car shows and was told this needs more gas. I explained that the miles to empty is not an accurate description of how much gas in in the vehicle. If you looked at the gas gage it read slightly above 7/8 of a tank. I am being charged for more gas on my credit card. I have rented from Avis before and never was I told they go by how may miles the vehicle says till empty. This number can change drastically depending on whether you are doing highway or city driving as the MPG is different.

2021-09-24Initially I rented a car for two but returned it after five hours passed two days. Instead of giving me an offer for ranting two days and more, you guys over charged me and that lady didnt even bother herself to give me my receipt and horrible customer service. Gave two for the car but experience was terrible!!! Not recommended at all

2020-09-01I have rented a vehicle several times at this particular establishment. I was always met by a very lovely, professional young lady whom I will refer to as Miss J. She met all of my needs even when I called at 20 minutes before closing. She was upfront with me about services offered including pricing. The vehicles I rented were clean and in good condition. I always come back here because of her honesty and her professionalism. I do not know her outside of her workplace, so believe me this is an actual assessment of my dealings with her at this Avis location. And yes, I would and do refer my friends to patronize this business in our community. Never had a bad experience...

2021-10-11My license was suspended a mere 8 days and I needed to rent a car to lay my dad to rest...I begged and pleaded to let me rent the car but to no avail...THANK YOU AVIS. 2021-04-21Refused to honor a reservation while I was without a car in the process of PCSing from the area, in favor of allowing customers currently with cars to extend their reservations. Encouraged me to continue to check back through the day to see if anyone had returned their rentals before becoming rude about me calling every 30 minutes or so before they closed very early on a Sunday.

2021-06-15If you want to rent a car do not come to this Avis. They tried to charge me $250 because there was a little hair on the floor. They accuse me of having a dog in the car when I don’t even own one. I’ve rent from car rentals all the time and I’ve never had this issue before. The two options they gave me were two rent a car for another day then vacuum it out or pay $250 for a detail...There are plenty of other places to rent from don’t risk coming here and getting falsely accused of dirtying or damaging their cars because it will cost you.

2019-02-26I had no problem renting the car. I rented for 2 weeks in a row. I returned it with no problem. All I had to do was fill the car with gas. The girls there are very nice, but they are so busy that when you call they cant call you back because customers are always there. Its a small place but it works for me. I am still waiting on my car to be fixed as it has been almost 3 weeks. About to call and get another car for a few days. I cant take not being able to go when ready
