Ayza is an amazing place for brunch. The food is well made and the atmosphere is very calming. I will only mention and provide photos of the menu offerings I personally ordered. All ordering can be done through the QR code which is very convenient. The menu has a decent variety for brunch. I ordered the Lime marinated chicken tacos as a starter and the only bad thing I could say is that they only serve 2 tacos and not 5. These were some of the most well seasoned tacos Ive ever had.I then had the La Havana Sandwich. Im normally not a big fan of Ciabatta bread but this one isnt to hard and the pulled pork combo with ham cheese and mustard etc is awesome! For drinks I had a Melon Mule - Standard Moscow mule variant but the Gang Gogh melon vodka had a nice citrus flavor.I then followed up with a Pier 27 which I believe is well worth it. Makers mark is one of the few whiskeys I can recognize through a cocktail. Cocktails here are top notch. If you read this far, then you know I enjoyed this place. I will definitely visit again to try some of the chocolate selections and cocktails as well as some different menu items.
What an fabulous spot! We enjoyed ourselves so much we stopped by on our way to and from Penn Station and will be coming back as often as possible.Everything we ordered was above and beyond our expectations, but the Wagyu burger was the most incredible burger Ive ever had. The gluten free bun was delicious and they had a nice variety GF options. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable, but especially Audrey we LOVED her. They look the time to chat with us about the different wines and cocktails (get the Curiosity Killed the Cat). Service, food, and atmosphere were all flawless.Do your self a favor and try it out!
Such a cute spot! The drinks were phenomenal & so were the foods. This place is great for lunches, cute dates and what not. We enjoyed it so much. I highlyyyyyy recommend the lychee berry drink it was so creamy & delicious. The chocolate fondue was so decadent and I enjoyed all of the cheeses on our little charcuterie board. I wish the pizza was slightly bigger but it was soo good I’d totallly come here again. It’s deff worth it.. now my group & I we were seated outside which was great.. but the only thing I wished for was the bathroom lighting to be better.. other than that I appreciate how you can directly order at any given time based off the app. It makes LIFE SO MUCH EASIER!!! Everything we had we all truly enjoyed.
Ive been to Ayza a couple of times over the last couple of years. On this particular visit we both ordered the five piece assorted platter. I had forgotten how generous the servings are per person. We shouldve shared the platter or ordered two three piece platters, as my friend who is a cheese fanatic couldnt even finish it. I tried the Shropshire blue, French brie, aged parmigiano reggiano, duck liver pate, and prosciutto di parma. I also had the mulled wine. Ayza makes my favorite mulled wine in the city. We somehow managed to save room for the chocolate fondue dessert, which was delicious! I loved the ambience and normally this is a great restaurant for a special occasion, date, or Valentines Day.The three star review isnt a reflection of the food, but of the service and the app that you have to use to order. We completely understand the need for safety during COVID and appreciate a restaurant that cares about keeping their staff safe. However, we found the app challenging to use. If you havent been to Ayza then you might not be familiar with how ordering takes place. You click through items on the app that you would like to order. If there is something that you need during your meal (e.g. more water) you are supposed to message through the app. My friend tried sending a message through the app and it took almost 35 minutes before we received a response. My friend also had a little trouble trying to place the order for dessert, which also led to us spending more time at the restaurant than we wouldve liked. We tried to speak to several waiters who were walking by our table, but they basically refused to even have a quick conversation. Instead of using an app, Ive seen another restaurant have table numbers placed on each table and when a guest would like to order something, you simple put your face mask back on and put the table number up so the waiter knows that the guests are ready to place an order.
Great food, wine and chocolates. The staff was very attentive. The Rosé was very nice, chocolate martini shots were a great finisher, so yummy and I enjoyed the tapas. I would have given 5 🌟 had it not been for the bugs. We had a large table for our group, outside which was very nice but there were flies...many flies at and around our table the entire time. We had to cover all the plates with napkins trying to keep them off food which was very annoying. I would definitely dine here again and look forward to it but only indoors.
Great food , great atmosphere me and my gf had a great time for our anniversary. I requested flowers for our table and they surprised both me and my gf with petals waiting for us. The trolley was super cool to dine in , really enjoyed all of it. I would definitely come back for a quick lunch or a grouping outing with friends.
Simply a delight. We did brunch on a Sunday at the beginning of June, no one else there at 11am. I am a HUGE fan of fancy grilled cheeses with tomato soup/bisque to dip it in, and I LOVED this one!! Great drinks as well. Was a bit out of the way of my usual plan through an NYC vacation, but would definitely check them out if we stay in the area next time.
I walked in this place with my two teenage girls on a cold and rainy afternoon. This was recommended by an office colleague with rave reviews. I have to admit, it is one the best places I have visited. The staff was friendly, place was clean, warm and welcoming.I wanted to try their chocolate and wine pairings but instead settled for their chocolate Manhattan cocktail. Loved it.The girls had the chocolate lave cake and the chocolate ganache. Sinful and totally heavenly.I highly recommend this place for all chocolate and wine lovers.Had an amazing time!!!
Came here for a dessert stop after a date night dinner. Super cute and chill ambiance. Service is quick and fast, you scan, order and pay all on your phone the order comes pretty quick. Very unique pairing and chocolate (to be honest was not expecting the chocolate to be better than the wines!) would come back here to keep trying something new! Tip: they have a little trolly for outdoor seating, would recommend reserving or coming early to try to get a seat in that)
This is a perfect spot for a date night or girls night! Looks beautiful. A little expensive, so only 4 stars! I got the Milkyway (35$) which comes with 3 glasses of wine and 4 small pieces of chocolate. I expected a regular wine glass size but I got very small ones. MUST TRY: their chocolate wine!
The highlight of this place is the chocolate martinis and other chocolate specialty cocktails. In particular i loved the chocolate peppermint martini. The food was pretty good, but more appetizer focused. I was a little disappointed in the dessert menu as it was mostly assortments if chocolates you could buy at a store. Also, they had no description of the various chocolates they offered. Just the names. Overall Id definitely go back. Its a pretty unique place that you can bring your friends to for a fun night.
We had reservations for a group of 8 for drinks and desserts. Service was excellent. They have you order from your phone which is nice because you dont have to wait for the server to come by to ask for more drinks and treats. The chocolate espresso martini was excellent and comes with a chocolate. We also got 9 chocolates for the table which were really good.I would definitely recommend this place.
Hard not to please with a great selection of wines and chocolate options! I went here for a girls night, and we sat outside in the trolley car. We ordered the 3 wine sampler, all of us ordering 3 glasses of whatever we wanted from a long list of options.I was impressed with the vegetarian options! We each ordered food as well, including the burrata, goat cheese salad, and the chicken tacos. The goat cheese was caramelized - which made a delicious difference. We ordered the chocolate fondue to end the night, which was great!!Dining outside I felt safe from COVID-19. I do wish they placed more hand sanitizer around, but it was clean.
The experience at Ayza was amazing! The food is delicious (too yummy to take pictures), better than it seems on the menu. While the ambience and the food is on top I expected an outstanding experience for the chocolate (name wine&chocolate). Actually it was a little delusional because the chocolate that they serve are some little pralines that you could buy anywhere and in my opinion there’s nothing special on this. Still I want to give 5 stars for the rest, not for the chocolate&wine.
Flowery stop with an head turning trolley attraction. Friendly staff. The restaurant week three course meal starts us off with a fresh and sweet pear salad (which had more strawberries than I have ever had in all my past salads) and hummus dip. For entrees we had the mushroom pasta and waygu burger. Thank you for toasting the buns. Juicy meat but the burger stayed intact, with cheese at a great consistency. Chocolates at the end were a bit underwhelming. They were way too sweet to finish.
Very delicious spot! We ordered a lot of yummy dishes to share:-Arepa tart (these were our favvvorite here)-Avocado fries (also very good)-Smoked eggplant-Ayza’s guacamoleAnd to end an amazing meal a chocolate fondue which was the best part 😍The cocktails here are also very good and they have discounts during happy hour!Cute spot to go to for happy hours, date nights and girls nights!!
I had a medium well steak at this restaurant the evening of Friday 3/25 (my only meal besides the oatmeal I had for breakfast) the next morning woke up with a case of severe food poisoning and needed to go to the hospital and get treated for an infected colon. That is horrible get chefs how know how to properly cook a steak at safe temperatures!!! Absolutely disgusting who cares about the environment when the food is carrying bacteria that had me in excruciating pain all weekend.
Food and atmosphere are phenomenal. Wine choice is excellent. The disappointment is with the ordering process. I hate ordering from my phone. I prefer for someone to physically take my order. This also was not explained to us when we sat down so we sat for 15 mins thinking the service was terrible but it was because you have to order from your phone. Service was actually really fast once you placed your order. I’d definitely go back!
Went here on our second date and just returned over a year later. Still excellent chocolate and wine selection. This time we got food and had instant regrets of not getting food here last time— each dish was wonderful and we particularly enjoyed the salads! The pita bread for the spinach artichoke dip was warm, soft, and lovely.
I came here for a graduation celebration dinner and we were seated outdoors on the patio, as it was around 50-55 degrees out we requested them to put the heaters on and they said they would but never did. Then when ordering drinks it took over 30 minutes for an espresso martini during which we ordered and received appetizers. We had to follow up multiple times for it to be remembered.Thirdly the serving staff forgot an entree and it took over 30 minutes for a member of my party to get their food whilst the other 9 of us were eating. No apology was given or explanation. The food was fair but not worth the awful service. The vegetables served with the steak were not fully cooked and the dishes lacked salt. The dessert was over priced and mediocre.I would not eat here again or recommend it again
We hosted our wedding reception at Ayza, and we are very happy with the service we received. Emmy worked diligently with us to accommodate our requests, and the team at the restaurant provided impeccable service. Our guests were impressed and loved the food. I would totally recommend this place. The restaurant is totally instagrammable and the food is A+ .
This has become one of my favorite wine bars in NYC. First off, the location is prime. Second, the place is so cozy and cute. Third, it doesn’t feel overly fancy for a wine bar and the prices are on the same page. It’s not really a sit down and dine experience, but rather you order at the hostess stand and they will bring all your food and drinks out. I love it because you can order as you go and enjoy your time there. The food was delicious, I definitely would recommend sharing plates with your group so you can try as much as possible. Go check it out, guaranteed you’ll love it too!
Ive been here a few times now, but most recently visited about 2 years ago - in the summer and over Halloweekend for a double date.In the summer, I visited Ayza with my brother during a Friday Happy Hour. Happy Hour specials are the bomb .com. $5 wines and apps were discounted as well. With our wines, they gave complimentary bread that melted in my mouth. I loved that they allowed me to taste my selected red wine before filling it up.Over Halloweekend, I ordered a flight of 4 red wines - I believe it was Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Chocolate Wine, and Rioja. The chocolate wine literally tasted like chocolate, I was in love. We ordered food too and got a bit confused in the ordering process. We though the sampler meant you can pick any 3 samplers in the appetizer menu. So we ended up ordering WAYYY more than we could handle (ended up with 6 different dishes). Everything was delicious though, the olives and spinach artichoke dip were my faves.Definitely recommend! My favorite experience of the two was happy hour, so I will definitely be back again.
Fun place with a unique menu drinks. Found the inside ambience a bit overwhelming, seats were really close to other tables and the overall bar was quite crammed so I don’t think I’d go out of my way to come back. But for the experience of chocolate drinks, this place met all my expectations!
We went at a relatively quiet hour. There were about 4 people there altogether. The two waitresses were trying to be very accommodating and trying to seating us where we wanted to be sat. Suddenly appears some guy who seems to be their manager telling them “no that table is reserved” we tried another.. also “reserved” all these reserved tables that he insists that we eat at their outside seating which we had clearly stated we didn’t want. Finally we get a small table inconveniently placed by the kitchen walk way but whatever, we are already there. Ordered some drinks from this wine bar and we can feel the manager staring at us. After a few minutes, he sent a waitress to come tell us about some time table limit even thought we literally had only been in this empty place for about 25/30 mins. This guy was a complete weirdo who should not be managing this kind of establishment. Your purpose is to make people feel welcome, not to make them feel like a burden. Drinks were okay but we won’t be back. Also those “reserved” tables were never claimed in the whole time we were there 👍 lol
While the drinks were good the service here was terrible. I asked 3 separate waiters to turn off the heater above us as a guest in our party was getting hives due to the heat ( Cholinergic urticaria). It took 20 minutes for them to turn the lamp of and the guest had to stand outside in the cold until they were finally off. Also the staff lost 3 of our drinks and we had to wait for them to remake them. Not to mention it took 10 minutes for the waiter to come to our table to handle this issue after putting in a request for him to come to our table. All of this caused us to be late to our next reservation.
The food wasnt what i expected. There is not much to menu, not many options and the food is standard. The staff was friendly and attentive. Its just the operation of the restaurant and food that isnt so nice. The menu requires you to give an email and telephone number. Which is odd to me because Ive never been required to give that information to look at a menu at a restaurant. Also be aware that the menu you see on Google does not match the menu they have at the restaurant.
Very cute place. Even though its in the k-town area, it doesnt serve Korean foods or drinks. I had their dips and mulled wine. The mulled wine was way too sweet for me, so I will order from the normal wine list next time. The dips were very good.We did not have a reservation so had to sit in the outside tented area - the outdoor area near their front entrance is much warmer. The tent outside had many heaters though, so we stayed warm without a problem.Once this pandemic is over, i would totally go back for wine and dips. Recommend for a date place - good atmosphere.
I used to go there and loved their deserts and drinks. But since I got a service dog because a heath condition they have been the worst! They make me sit outside in the trailer and said I couldn’t sit inside because I had a service animal. I explained that it was against the law doing that and the guy got kind of aggressive with me. I really wanted to sit inside because of the environment (this is why I used to go there). This is a reason to get a lawsuit.
Wonderful Mother’s Day meal. All of us loved loved our meals. Marscapone French toast, short rib grilled cheese, Cubans sandwich and proscuitto sandwich. Chocolate fondue and earthquake cake. Reasonably priced. Beautiful outdoor seating and a converted trolley for some tables.
We have been to Azyas during Valentines Weekend. They schedule Couples Night Out for weekends of February. We had reserved our table for this event. We enjoyed our time here. They had welcomed us with welcome drink - hot wine, which was our first time experience of hot wine and it was delicious. Table was decorated with rose flowers and candle light. As name suggests, wine and chocolates are their specialty. Also, they are famous for Martinis - chocolate Martini is very popular. We also ordered Pizza and Pasta, which were delicious. Their gourmet chocolates are complimentary in this event. Food was really delicious. Staff is very friendly. We totally enjoyed our time here. Totally recommend for quick bite, drinks and hangout if you are in the neighborhood.
The food was delicious, but not a fan of the ordering and service model. Highly recommend the Honeycomb & Fig Burrata.I tried ordering the Baked Home Fries with shaved parmesan, parsley and truffle oil and they came out with a sad little portion of plain potatoes and made me feel like I was asking too much to get the garnishes mentioned on the menu. They returned the $7 potato side to me without any parsley or truffle oil, just a scant shaving of cold parm.Menus are online through scanning a QR code and opening a tab with Toast Tab. We did not have a server assigned to our table. Rather, we had to order food and drinks through this app with no directions, and wait for a random server to fly by and drop off the plate. The online menus do not have allergy information, nor are there printed menus to help figure out what is safe to eat. When you do need help, you have to flag down a random server during one of their fly-bys to a nearby table or get up from your seat to go inside and find someone. Service was very hands-off and figure-it-out-yourself, which didnt live up to expectations of dining out at a nice restaurant. The suggested tip when settling the bill was 18-25%, which I felt was high considering this form of scaled back, hybrid self-service model they have going.
I was visiting New York and my best friend (an nyc local) wanted to take me to this place . I have to say I was impressed by the service: everything was done at the proper time , with a smile. When the summer rain started the manager run outside to close the perimeter and the plastic roofing to make sure the guests stay dry!Food : Our assorted platter was garnished beautifully and looked like a piece of art . But I’m not a duck liver connoisseur to talk about the flavour. But we have enjoyed it. (attn the portion of cheese / meat is very small, but it makes you feel fancy and leaves a space for dessert, because, really, why would you come to a “ wine a chocolate “ restaurant and not get the latter). The first dessert we ordered ( the chocolate molten lava cake ) we did not like , maybe due to the sudden summer rain and all the commotion that comes with it the lava cake was almost room temperature (rather than hot) , the ice cream was 1/3 melted and we didn’t like the flavour. we let the waitress know we didn’t like it and she without any hesitation happily offered us a replacement. We went for the first dessert on the menu (chocolate earthquake) . It was out of this world.I’ll give this place a the benefit of the doubt and 5 stars . The excellent service more than made up for the first dessert. I’ll have to come back to learn more about their flavours. I’ll update this review once I do !
I would love follow suit and give a good review on this location but sadly I cant. I planned a gathering for 10 girls. We made reservations but unfortunately, due to Earth Day and numerous street closures, it took us longer to arrive. As a courtesy I called to let them know and the woman on the phone understood and told us a table would be waiting. That was huge relief. My friends arrived before me and were instantly told we couldnt stay longer than an hour. Kind of off putting to hear that when you just arrive but we werent planning to stay longer than an hour anyway. When I arrive I noticed no one came to take our order so I called for a waiter. The gentleman so hastingly said, you have to use the app to order and walks away. Now we are not millenials so ordering this way is a bit confusing but we attempted nonetheless. A few of my friends wanted cocktails that were not on the menu so again I asked another waiter how to place that order. Yet again, rude and tells me Ill get you someone else. I cant help with that. No one ever shows up. At this point we are there nearly 25 minutes into our one hour reservation. No greeting, no water, no order just attitude, dismissive and downright rude. I made the decision to leave. With so many options in the city why would we need to stay there? We were ready to spend some money so why give it to a place undeserving. Chocolate martinis can be found anywhere and we did find them. Magic Hour at the Moxy just a few blocks away was SUPER accomodating and we had a blast there. Guess things work out for a reason but it was very unfortunate because I wanted to experience something better than this. I gave two stars for the atmosphere and for saving a space for us even though we were late because of the numerous street closures but thats about it.
The restaurant was really lovely. Small and bright. The food was great. I has the Palak Paneer and my friend had the Bhantar Kirtara and both dishes were delicious. The staff was really friendly. The portions of food were pretty big. And the price was fair.Even though finding parking was tricky, I would definitely go back.
My friends took me to celebrate my birthday. The food menu was available virtually via qr code which is great. The food was delicious and the service was really good. The only thing I didnt really like is that the restroom is too dimly lit. Otherwise the place is perfect.
We stumbled upon this place when searching for a wine bar to have drinks at on a Sunday afternoon. The weather was in the low 80s so perfect for their patio. We specifically did the Milky Way chocolate and wine pairing and it was delicious. Definitely a great place to relax and enjoy some wine. They served cucumber water and was definitely a plus to keep us hydrated!
Cosy wine bar with tasty food selections.Prior to 5pm you have the choice of wines, cheeses, desserts and charcuterie. Post 5pm you can choose from the full menu which includes mains also. There is an outdoor/indoor section which is fully covered and warm even in winter months, as well as indoors seating where you have the beautiful constellations lighting in the ceiling.Upon being seated we were given a small tea cup of mulled wine which was a lovely start to the experience. Our server was very friendly and attentive throughout. Expect to pay circa $13 for a glass of wine (6oz) or $28 for a flight of 3x 3oz.Would recommend the mulled wine, guacamole and the cheesecake with chocolate fondue.
A very solid experience. With barely any complaints except one. If there’s a loud table in the restaurant, your night could be ruined. The restaurant, entirely, is so small I couldn’t believe it until it took me 5 seconds to walk from one side to the other. (Picture below is with my back against the wall)The hostess was very nice on the fact that I preferred a larger table than the typical “party of 2” table. The food was good, drinks were a bit strong, great selection of wine + chocolate. I got what I expected from the cuisine so I was satisfied. There is also solid seating outside the restaurant so you don’t feel cluttered if you’re planning on ordering a bit of food.
Went for an early lunch on a Saturday and we were the first ones there at about 11:30 am.Small breads with ricotta cheese (instead of butter) was yummy.I had the watermelon salad which was delicious. Light and airy. They didnt overload it with dressing. Just enough.Another had the avocado burger and it was phenomenal. You cant really eat it like a burger, but she chopped it up into a beautiful salad. She wont need to eat avocado for a month! The drinks were inspired. Pictured is the bloody Mary which was beautiful and tasty. Rim was dipped in salt and old Bay? YumThe other drink is their iced tea. Plain old iced tea but served like a specialty drink.2nd time there and will definitely be back.
I’ve been coming here for the last eight years and every experience is always lovely. The food is consistently delicious and the cocktails consistently strong 🍸 . My favorite martini is definitely the almond martini. I also highly recommend the avocado fries and the goat cheese salad.
What a sweet place for a drink and dessert! I visited in the evening and it was gorgeous! I recommend making reservations because this place can get busy. We were seated below the constellations and it was just beautiful. We ordered the wild mushroom flatbread and it was delicious; so full of flavor. I had the melon moscow mule and it was really refreshing; probably the best tasting moscow mule I’ve had.
My friends and I have come here many times and always have a great experience. They just redid their outdoor area and it feels so much more spacious than it used to. Their charcuterie boards are huge compared to NY standards and they have a wide variety of cheeses to choose from. Id also recommend getting the dark chocolate fondue for dessert!
Great vibe and food - but fact that I had to give my phone number and credit card information online felt very weird and the ordering off the phone was impersonal. When I get off a 16 hour shift at work, the last thing I want to do is figure out some website to order my food
A must try wine and chocolate bar in NYC!They have a variety of wines and cheeses that you don’t see or can’t really buy every day.If you can, I would try their flights of wine/champagne so you can test out a few different wines. I would also recommend getting a few different cheeses to pair with the wines.Cheeses:We tried: Blue Cheese, Bucheron, Goat Cheese, Parmigiano and Manchego. **Ask for honey on the side because it goes great with some of the cheeses. Favorite cheeses were Bucheron, Parmigiano and Manchego! They were so good!!Wines:The Champagne and Prosecco were excellent. Also tried Torrentes which was a great white wine! Had a red wine but I’m not personally a big fan of red wine.Chocolates:Try a bunch of them. They are so good!I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be coming back.
Not a bad place really. Took my wife as part of our anniversary. Sample wine was good, first time consuming it hot. I had the Filet Mignon and she had Lamb Chops. We enjoyed the meal for sure. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Tables are pretty close together so there is minimal privacy if having a conversation. The ambience is very relaxed. The only complaint I have is that the Tipsy Ice Cream desert is actually a mango flavored slushy. I suggest either a name change or a description. Nonetheless, me and my wife liked it.
We were still able to get brunch @ 2pm. Already 2 thumbs up from me for that alone. I suggest the wagyu beef sliders and put some eggs on top. The drinks, lawwwdd the drinks! The service was attentive, the location was somehow very lax and chill even though it is in a very busy part of Manhattan. Needless to say, everything was perfect. Just.... just go. 🍸
- It was a Sunday November 20 , 2016 in the afternoon hours. When I had my first real awesome Eating experience.- Decor- the restaurant was very lavished with flowers and Chandlers. Everything was uniform to perfection.- Atmosphere - it was lovely to great music playing by jazzanova - another day . Which is a perfect music for relaxation. To people having grray conversations about live. The restaurant smell like a fragrance of flowers and chocolates. It was an experience like none other. And the best part is that smiles filled the roomFood - I mostly ordered take out but as I was waiting for my takeout order I ordered a 24 layer crêpe cake and a chocolate martini which was amazing. I never tried a 24 layer crêpe cake but its one of the things you must try once in a lifetime. Based on what I heard a layer crêpe cake is difficult to make. But the chefs made it happened. The cake was absolutely delicious from the crunchy top to the spongy texture and detail of each crêpe it was like a work of art displayed on a plate.Next was the chocolate martini which was very delightful trying. It has more chocolate then alcohol which was a plus. Also you a complimentary chocolate with your martini.Take outI ordered the ravioli which was very tasty in every bite. Very delicious and cheesy. It also have high quality TasteThe truffle pizza was very good and also have different flavors that stands out.My brother tried the chicken panini and he loved it. He said its the best quality food ever tasted. He also tried the malt cake and he wanted another one. My brother sometimes could be hard to please when it comes to food but this place made him happy and exceed his expectationsAlso the smoked salmon was delicious. The presentation of the take out was nice and was not an ordinary take out. It was presented very well.Customer service was very great and the staff was very attentive. They show care and make sure my experience was magical. They give me refills of water without me asking. Most importantly they work with a smile and very joyful. Also the manager showed great passion and what she does. She check each customer to see if all their needs are met. She makes sure my experience was not disappointing. To the chefs thank you for making this a great experience and cooking works of art.To the wait staff and waitress thank you for working with a smile and making sure each customer including myself welcomedThe the Manager. Thank you for being very caring and showing what a business should be. Thank you for managing a great staff and making the experience great.
You would think a restaurant with the word Chocolate in it, would know its chocolate desserts from one another, but think again.A group of us headed to Ayza for one purpose, and one purpose only, to acquire Chocolate Lava Cakes.I like to think of myself as a Chocolate Lava Cake aficionado, so I couldnt wait to enjoy a lava cake. We placed our order, saying well take 3 chocolate lava cakes, and then we waited. Keep in mind we didnt order drinks or anything else, so we didnt say anything to cause the confusion that happened next. After a little bit of time, three beautiful dishes of dessert arrived at our table. I was a little suspicious of the dessert, it had nuts, it seemed dressed up, and had a weird little container of white liquid (turned out to be hot milk or cream). We took some bites and quickly realized our suspicions were correct, this was NOT a chocolate lava cake, but some strange imposter. We complained to the wait staff, who claimed what we had in front of us was a lava cake. We argued some more and she said the chef has agreed to deconstruct the dessert for you. Umm ok. We only sent one order back because at that point we were too frustrated to fight anymore and be told we were wrong several times. The dessert that came out was a real lava cake. It looked nothing like what they served us previously, which happened to be some cold earthquake cake aka a brownie with no lava. The amount of times the staff argued with us, and pretended that they gave us the right dessert was shocking. How can a place that specializes in chocolate lie to customers and argue so much about their own mistake.
This has been a place Ive been frequenting for a while now and they always deliver great food and service. Their chocolate raspberry martinis and sangrias are smooth and not watered down like other places. Also, their avocado fries and shrimp dumplings are delicious. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and I love the nuances of the place. For example, whenever I go there is a new quote on the table which is really thoughtful. If anyone is thinking of going, Id recommend going on a Monday, which is jazz night and has a live jazz singer and musician. All in all, my favorite wine and chocolate bar in Manhattan.
Love love this place.. been going there since the day it opens and its still pretty perfect spot. I feel its gotten even better with time . Love the chocolate martini and my absolutely favorite crepe layer cake . Lovely atmosphere indoor or out.. truly enjoy this special place.. keep up the amazing work
I have a group of friends that I call my Round Table Crew (RTC). We often rotate the choice of meet-up spot. When it came around to my turn, I pulled Ayza off of my list of Want To Go places. The visit began in great fashion. The manager/host had read the comments I wrote regarding COVID safety in my reservation and addressed my concerns upon my arrival. He gave me multiple seating options and I of course chose the safest (excellent start!). I was asked to wait at the bar while the rest of my party arrived. Some of my RTC crew are often late so while I waited, I got a chance to sample some of the drinks beforehand. They have a HUGE menu of dessert/chocolate cocktails. Im glad I got there early because it took several minutes to study the drink menu alone. My first drink was the Lychee Berry Martini. I highly recommend it!When the rest of the RTC arrived, we ordered several appetizers to get a little variety and keep things feeling casual. Our order included the Hot Spinach & Artichoke Dip, Angry Chicken Lollipops, Three Cheese Platter and Crispy Baby Shrimp Dumplings. The squad ordered a slew of drinks, several of which I tried but I cant remember all of them. I finished dinner with a Strawberry Chocolate Martini.Overall I thought this place was fantastic. Id recommend it as a good date spot. My group was comfortable but the restaurant itself isnt that big, so certain seating areas can feel a little ... cozy. If youre wondering why I reserved a star, its because when I asked one of the servers regarding a Yelp perk that popped when I checked in on the app, I was basically ignored. I was told that someone would ask the manager about it but no one ever returned for an update. I wasnt going to press the issue.Bottom line: Go! Its really good. If youre anxious about COVID-19 there is outdoor seating. You should also make note of it in your reservation. They will try to accommodate you. Its just too bad that they dont honor Yelp check-in deals.
Horrible place to eat, fine place to drink. The food is not fresh or particularly good, the tables are too small to accommodate any plates, and service is through an app on your phone so you feel like you’re ordering from McDonalds. This place is clearly owned by some restaurant group that is experimenting how far they can degrade customer service to maximize profit and still attract the yuppie date crowd who will run up a $200 tab to be rushed out in 45 mins.
A very Kewl wine bar with an upscale atmosphere yet still relaxed. Came here for a girls night out and it was a great venue to have some great wine and appys. Wish they have more wine sampler choices.. The prices are not too bad considering the location. Found out they have happy hour so will have to return for that soon.
Very enjoyable wine and chocolate bar in midtown. A plus is that you can order and pay through a QR code at your table. The negative is that not everything has a clear enough description, and getting someone to come and answer some questions was more difficult than expected (we finally realized you can order assistance through the menu and then someone will come to your table, and hopefully give you more information than we received). The food menu is limited, but everything we ate was pretty good. I do appreciate their wine flights which are paired with chocolates. My friends also really enjoyed their variety of chocolate martinis. Ill add that I feel its a tad overpriced, but thats to be expected in midtown.
This restaurant is so unique! The staff is so professional. You just order food and drinks with the QR Code provided at the table so you dont have to wait for a waiter or waitress to take your order. Jasmine, one of the Servers, was so accommodating to us and so kind. She made our night so nice. The dishes, the decorations, the whole setting was so elegant. They even have their own Trolley you can eat inside! Definitely going back to this restaurant!
Was so excited to find this spot when I got here because it’s very cute and they have a great menu, but my friend and I ordered the fondue and it didn’t come for 45 minutes. It turns out they sent it to the wrong table. On top of that, we had asked for more strawberries and Rice Krispies Instead of the marshmallows and the manager said sure, then we were brought a plate with extra bananas instead. Just like not what we asked for?? And they didn’t do anything to make up for the fact we waited so long BECAUSE they brought it to the wrong table and didn’t even notice until we said we still hadn’t gotten ours.
Wine and chocolate? Yes please! Five stars just for that. Ive been wanting to come here for years, and finally tried out this great spot. The ambiance inside and in their outside (heated) garden feeling area are comfortable and chic.Drinks were incredible. Chocolate dessert tasting Martinis, drinks off their specialty menu, and even a custom mezcal chocolate martini I requested were all beautiful and divine. The appetizers and dessert we had were also amazing. I was with a talented chef friend who also enjoyed everything:- Angry chicken. Beautifully presented and delicious. A must have.- Avacado fries. Deep fried avocado, coated in herbal breadcrumbs. Amazing, creative, must try!- Short rib bruschetta with truffle oil. Delicious.- Tuna tar tar. A favorite of mine, very good.- Sundae Dessert. A perfect chocolate ending!Only recommendation would be to add more chocolate infused or inspired appetizers and entrees to fit with the amazing chocolate theme.Definitely recommend for dates and friend outings.
Fabulous place, so glad we went here! We didnt make reservations and were seated outside. Inside was really warm though, so glad we were outside. The chocolate martinis are delicious, as was the mulled wine we were given when we sat down. They avocado fries were good, but the spinach dip was so delicious, I think it was the best Ive ever had. I cant wait to go back here.
This place was AN EXPERIENCE!! We went for my friend’s birthday dinner and I was so intrigued and entertained by the menu! I’m not a big fan of chocolate but this place knows what they are doing! They had chocolate wine, a bunch of chocolate martinis, lots of yummy food to choose from and the best (in value and taste) chocolate fondue I’ve ever had! Honestly for a nice place with a unique menu in NYC, the prices weren’t bad at all and the the service was really good as well! Would definitely plan to reserve here when in New York again :)
This place is an underrated gem. It comes across to me as a business that is being well-managed -- dont ask me why, it is just a feeling I get. The overall experience there is pleasing and balanced. The cocktails are inventive and excellent (many have chocolate). The appetizers come in generous portion sizes. I am always pleased by how much cheese actually comes on the cheese platter, for example. The entrées are non-fussy and will please every kind of eater. And of course there are the chocolates, which are like jewels to wrap up the evening out. I would recommend Ayza to basically anyone from a couple on a first date, to a family with elders and middle-school kids.
Not a great experience - we knew we were only given 45 min, but the server / manager kept coming to remind us every 10 min that we had to leave soon. not a enjoyable experience at all. the food wasnt great either. would never go back. also the place is a little cheugy
We wanted just to have a drink and something very small before going to see a play so we found this gem. Chocolate martini is from another world they even comes with a small piece of chocolate truffle, we had also chocolate dipped strawberries with a slice of Brie cheese on the side so fresh and chocolate was the right amount, the montón lava cake was also very well done and delicious, service is excellent, you do need reservations even for happy hour. We also had sparkling rose which was incredible. We will Come back very soon.
Came here for a quick drink. Tuesday they have a ladies night special which comes with chocolate shot and a chocolate covered strawberry. Tried one of the chocolate martinis was so great but on the pricey side but its Manhattan. Did try the dumplings which were good. Outdoor seating even in the winter but they do a good job of heating the outdoor space.
I really liked this place. I went on a whim during happy hour. They start you off with a complimentary small basket of popcorn, a dish of seasoned mixed nuts and a small glass (sake-glass-size?) of sangria. I asked to be seated outside. It was covered so not too sunny. It looked like they had heat lamps outside for colder nights. The surroundings arent anything spectacular but its nice place to either meet up with friends or to people watch.Chocolates range from $2.50-$3.50 each or 3 for $8 and up I believe. Drinks were between $5-$8 at the time. The staff was lovely - great service, friendly and attentive.Overall a nice little find for a happy hour meetup!
Great service, staff was friendly and attentive, quick to refill water, etc. Excellent food and drink, went for Sunday brunch, omelette was excellent, goat cheese toast was amazing. Sangria was good as well. Also has a lovely outdoor seating area. Absolutely would come back.
Previous commenters stated that the portions were small. But if you should look past the eyes before stomach comment, youll find that this location strives greatly for quality over quantity. The flavors are layered in a way that draws your appetite out. I ordered a tzatziki and smoked chicken breast panini. The tzatziki was on point with a creaminess that flowed to your stomach. The smoked chicken panini came with an arugula salad with a slightly acidic dressing. The sandwich had the perfect crunch and layers and layers of flavor. For the desert, we had Belgian chocolate covered strawberries and New York cheesecake with a chocolate fondue. The decadence was soul reaching. I think I left part of my soul in there. As for the environment, it is smaller but not a bad thing, its cozy as far as Im concerned. Light music in the background. The staff is extremely friendly and the management makes every effort to make you feel welcome.I will definitely return. It is a unique experience to be savored.
Excellent, simply excellent! Go for daily specials, if they are still available, those are usually amazing. The bar offers seating for last minute visitors and is usually available. The wine selection is just fabulous and that includes some great French Champagne.Pricess are very good for what you get. And the way how they present food on the plate! Inspiring!
My wife and I stumbled upon this chocolate bar while she was in grad school in NYC. We dont drink so we were hoping the chocolate would be up to par for some sober tongues. We were not disappointed and highly recommend the chocolate lava cake. The appetizers were great too. We came back many times after that and eventually named our cat Ayza.
This place is my favorite! I fell in love with the ambience, the food, the service, the drinks! I go here at least once a month for a night out. I’ve never had a bad experience and the service is always great. The bartender Julia is phenomenal!! Always makes me my favorite drink.
Came here post dinner, just for a drink, and mostly to try their chocolate martini and OMG!!! Its so delicious. I had the raspberries one, with a light white chocolate cream on top, and my friend tried the classic chocolate martini, with tons of pieces of shaved chocolate on top. It sound weird, but I promise its incredible.Bonus, free truffles comes with each drink.
The chocolate almond martini was delicious! Had this with 3 chocolates from the cioccolada chocolates (french cognac ohh la la, coconut tropical pleasure, & champagne strawberry). My server was ok, the only time I actually knew her name was on the recepit. Otherwise, I will definitely be visiting again!
From the very time we arrived until we left, the food, wine, and chocolate gave our tastebuds a treat. The manager and his staff, especially Audrey, took excellent care of us as we celebrated family, an engagement, and love. Such a great little spot in Midtown that is sure to make your visit one to remember!
Hard rain (Hurricane Henri) made it impossible to find any restaurants open that we had been looking for, so our stop at Ayza was a fluke...It was the only place that had room for us on such a rainy night and boy oh boy were we glad to find it!It was fantastic!Great variety. Top quality ingredients. Excellent server. Lovely atmosphere.Seared tuna burger, OH YES! Chicken tacos HELLO! Avocado fries SOMETHING NEW!We really enjoyed the meal.Wed be back if we lived closer.Give it a try.I think youll be glad you did.
This is such a cute restaurant! Their chocolate martini is delicious, their Manhattan impeccable, and the white truffle pizza is exactly what dreams are made of. What truly made the experience was the waitress Keisha! She was personable and super sweet. The restaurant certainly became busy as the evening went on, so I would recommend making a reservation. The outdoor covered seating was warm enough that I happened to forget I was sitting in their extended space.I have nothing negative to say about this location.
I have been here twice now, and was blown away both times. The Dessert Martinis are to die for! The Peppermint Martini has a great flavor (and potency) with a nice chocolate pairing. The Chicken Entree was the perfect portion and didnt leave me feeling to full for dessert! We split a couple of the GLORIOUS 20 layer Crepe Crème brûlée Cakes and the Dark Chocolate Fondue. Both cannot be passed over when dining at Ayza. It is one of my favorite date night places in the city.
Well it’s very nice place, but u have to help yourself with everything in there, then they added 5% fee to my check and then they ask for tip, but you have to go get water u have to go and place order, silly but it is what it is. Food is delicious and location is great
Came late at night on Sunday for wine and dessert and this place was perfect. My friends and I were able to stay as long as we wanted without pressure to leave from the staff (it was pretty empty at 11pm on a Sunday night) but it was a great environment! Fondue was delicious!
*Review for drinks only*Came in one Friday afternoon (before MDW) for happy hour, which is 3 pm to 5:30 pm ($5 wine/beer;$8 cocktails). BF and I had a pretty good experience - we got a table right away, service was quick, and they even gave us a sampling of their sangria (which I didnt like, but it was still a nice gesture). I had the rose, which was nice. It wasnt your standard cheap house rose that most other places would serve you during happy hour.Based on this, would definitely come back for some more HH dranks!
Wine bar at its best! I have been to Ayza about a half of dozen times whenever I visit NYC and they don’t disappoint.I love the decor and outdoor patio is very lovely. They have a great wine list and the food is delicious. Also, have a good dessert list. I would recommend Ayza for dates or simply to have drinks with your special ones!
My husband and I ate a late dinner in the outdoor, well-ventilated trolley car outside the restaurant. The service was excellent, and the food was extremely tasty and of high quality- all fresh-tasting ingredients. I really enjoyed my Wagyu burger- it was one of the best I ever had. I would definitely go back there again!
Okay, I don’t write many reviews but had to write one because of a really horrible experience me and my office friends got in this place. I felt insulted, discriminated and hurt.So it was Saturday evening and I called to confirm if walk in is available and were told that it was. When i arrived, a tall white guy welcomed with the coldest look you would ever come across. This person later was just strolling around the restaurant with no respect for anyone’s privacy and thinking that universe revolves around him. Shame. No warm welcome, just a rude ‘hey’. Another lady then walks up and thankfully atleast greets politely.I then asked for a table and on that she and that arrogant person discussed something privately and gave us the worst possible table in a corner with seats (having no back support) located right at the entrance of a narrow passage where waiters were going in and out with the orders. This table is numbered as table 63. During the whole miserable experience, waiters kept hitting our table when going in and out.I even asked her to give me seats somewhere else because I could see so many empty ones, even outside of the restaurants, but she just coldly said that she will check on that and quickly left. All this was happening on a Saturday night and it was so heartbreaking. This is the reason I said i felt discriminated above.I decided to stick around in hope that she will come back with an answer but whole time kept waiting on her.I have a question. Why not remove this table (table 63) at such a bad position and what’s with this cold behavior you guys are portraying to certain people on a Saturday night? Is it a race thing ? If yes, it’s really shocking. I am an Asian. It’s good to just say that you don’t have the capacity rather than insult and discriminate the customer and make his whole party unhappy.Absolutely horrible experience.
Chocolate Martini is a must have. All the drinks were really good for the price! One of the waitresses was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and was able to break it down without hesitation. Manager seemed a bit unconcerned with guests and came off rude but the staff otherwise made up for that with incredible service. Location is also great and the restaurant itself is very cozy.
What an incredible experience we had at Ayza Wine and Chocolates!!! First, I must say that I found this place on Google when I was searching for a restaurant that could do a wine tasting event for a surprise Bridal Shower for my daughter. Yehor, the event coordinator, could not have been more helpful in planning the party with me; she was always accessible to answer any questions.I never went to check out the place in person, I had only seen pictures online; we were all blown away by how lovely the space was for the party; it was just perfect! In addition to the sit-down dinner, we had a sommelier, Angel, who gave us a lesson on wine and chocolate; he was excellent – we learned so much from him, and the wines they served for the tasting were delicious. I found a new wine that I love, as did everyone else, the Rose Provence. Thankfully, all the wine was included in the price because I have no idea how many bottles of the Rose we went through. The food was fantastic! The portions were so generous - much more than I expected- we could not finish it all. There was an assortment of meats, cheeses, dips, and olives on the table for everyone to nibble on when we arrived. After the wine and chocolate tasting, the staff started to bring out platters of food, tapas style; there were at least 5 courses served, each one better than the next! The staff (especially Samantha) and service were as fantastic as the food.My daughter absolutely LOVED everything about the party, she could not have been happier, and she stayed with a group of her friends long after the party was over; the staff could not have been kinder or more accommodating.I will be back just for dinner and drinks, and I have already started recommending Ayza to friends who want to plan a really special event!!
Went to lunch here because it was highly recommended by a friend who LOVES their chocolate martini drinks. Of course, this is one of their main attractions, so I ordered one. They are absolutely delicious. They serve it with a pairing truffle that accentuates and heightens the complete flavor experience of your martini. I also enjoyed a fried tofu dish I ordered for lunch. We sat outside to dine..very lovely spot. Last but not least, our server was AWESOME. Very knowledgeable of the dishes, and extremely friendly. Will definitely revisit for lunch when Im in the area soon.
Super cute place. Great for girls night , date night or a group dinner. Desserts are assorted, so you dont just have to stick with chocolate (but chocolate options are their specialty). The espresso martini variations are very cool! Went with the original and it did not disappoint. Will def. return and am looking forward to the chocolate and wine pairings!
Nice place. Food and cocktails were good. Went there on a night where a random man stormed in, wrecked the bar and tried to stab a customer. Yikes! While the commotion ensued, the only staff member around was the manager. Major respect for trying to protect the patrons. Bravery like that is rare. That man deserves a raise especially when every other staff member ran and didnt even bother to provide a refuge for the customers. Two stars because the hostess was talking about how she ran away to the second floor as she was handing us the bill and we didnt even start our meal or ask us if we were alright or anything. The chocolate raspberry martini was absolutely worth the terrorizing experience though
Horrible experience! Burgers arrived cold and spicy and nothing was written on the menu about the spice. Waitresses were absent. No service. Manager made us paid for the burger even if we couldn’t eat spicy meals and all the ingredients were not written on the menu. Do not recommend this restaurant.
I reserved a table for my birthday yesterday during Happy Hour and I have so many things to say - where do I start? Firstly, the service was thorough. You have to order your drinks and food at the entrance, but they surprised me with a glass of champagne and a tasty desert. Also, I ordered a Chocolate Raspberry Martini- not on the menu, but it was made and it was super delicious! The staff was amazing, the space was intimate and the “outdoor” seating was heated - super cozy & cute ambiance. Loved it! Great for girls night, date night, bday celebration and happy hour. Definitely a MUST visit spot in NYC. Photos on my ig @queenmarlymarHappy hour pricesCocktails $10Wine $7-$9Beer $5
Business was beautiful and food was excellent, from what we received. We waited almost 60 mins for soup and dip and needed to be reminded of our order. The hostess explained the system was down and she would manually give the order to the chef, which seemed great. After another 40 mins with no interaction from anyone we decided to call it a loss and leave. Was excited to try the food unfortunately it was busy and the wait was way to long.

2021-12-27PROS: This place was very nice and unique. It was nice because it was clean, the atmosphere was nice, they had outside seating and a parked trolley with tables in it, too. You order and pay from an APP when youre there so its fast. Menu is plentiful with great quality food and rightfully pricedCONS: The place is a little small on the inside and its only a one person bathroom. The bathroom wasnt too clean as wellOVERALL: You have to go to this place if you are in the area. I recommend getting the molten chocolate cake

2022-06-09Got the reservations through NYbucketlisters i got the package which was around $90 for two, which included 4 wine testers, 2 martinis and 6 chocolates. There were several food items available. There was indoors outdoor and the tram seating available, i was planning to seat in the tram, it was really cute. We were seating by the door since it was a bit chilly that day we asked to put the heater on.The service was really good and food quality and quantity both were satisfactory. Must go date place if is. Loved it. ❤️

2022-04-25I will put this one in the list of my favorite places in New York. Inside looks cozy and dark but they have the outside spots and fake bus with more decorative and more airy. You order and pay through an app so everything seem nice and simple the only thing makes me feel a little bit uncomfortable that we had to wait too long to call the server through the app. We order the Wagyu Cheese Burger - the beef is really juicy and tender. If you dont know what to order, this one never goes wrong. I think it would be nicer if they have a sauce to go with the Plantain chips. White Truffle Pizza - this one is good but not too special and I like the taste of the fresh cherry tomatoes they used. And Angry Chicken Lollipop - I love the seasoning and they put the Awakame in the chicken. For the drink we ordered Pier 27, it still had smoke when they served it. Looks sexy with the smoke and taste really fruity. I definitely come back to try more dessert and their signature chocolate cocktails. I think this is a nice place to hangout with your best friends or have a date.

2022-03-01Beautiful wine bar with amazing selection of cocktails including a delicious chocolate martini. The food options are equally as amazing with little plates that make sharing easy and the fondue type dips are very enjoyable to try with each food item

2021-12-25Love this place— visited six years back, and again yesterday, introducing a few friends to this place. Apart from the inside, they have seating available in a cute, cozy bus. Their Martinis (pictured here is the Espresso Martini) are awesome, and so is the Chocolate Manhattan. You can not go wrong with chocolate pairing— highly recommended.

Best spot to take pictures and have fun with the martinis

2021-10-29This was a great pit stop for some wine and chocolate before the main course. Very nice atmosphere and nicely heated from space heaters. Enjoyed the pay through Toast as it made seamless sit down and leave. The avocado fries were excellent and came with two dipping sauces. The Oyster Mushroom Tagliatelle was lacking in flavor, but still fun to eat nonetheless. We then got the Whiteout Wine Pairing (2 white wines (Riesling and Moscato), and three pieces of specialty chocolate). I am not a fan of white chocolate, so I wish the descriptions would’ve been there to describe them, however I was satisfied with the milk chocolate piece that came with this pairing.

2021-12-24A great place to stop for some fun chocolate drinks and desserts with amazing martinis and fondue! We were seated promptly and had great service the entire time. Loved the spread for the fondue, the entire family was happy!
