Listen I love food but youll hate this place. Japanese its not! We were first seated, waitress brings the water and spills it. Close call. Ordered soft shell crabs (oh hell NO!) It looked like frog legs but fishy. Pork Donburi...no.no..no! Safer with bento box, which is what I ordered. Salmon teriyaki it was ok....lets just say its not owned by Japanese, which makes sense especially with cleanliness. Yikes!
Although it is currently closed due to the state of the City. I enjoyed the whole experience of dining there. The food was exquisite, the staff were so polite and helpful, and the entire atmosphere was so pleasant! I can not wait until it opens once again, so my bestfriend and I can enjoy it once again! (Sorry for the late review, I just found these pics in my gallery lol)
I tried Azuki because it is close to the hotel. I only ordered the katsu Don so I cant comment on the sushi. While the service is good the food was too breaded. The sushi chef spoke Chinese so perhaps this is a Japanese restaurant run by Chinese people?
This rating has to be old. This place has the best ramen and gyosas I’ve ever had at a great price point. So worth it.

Came for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Great food, amazing services and reasonable prices.
Its an ok sushi place. My yellow tail roll had fishy smell and it wasnt that good. The rest of the rolls were just ok, nothing special.

Wonderful sushi! But, the wait time was very long. I would not recommend stopping by if you have less than an hour to sit and wait on your sushi. That being said, the chef took his time, and the end product was some of the best I had ever had! I went to Azuki twice during my week long trip! The prices were very fair, the atmosphere was quiet and serious.

A breath of fresh airTo step out of the busy city and into this quiet restaurant for dinner was an experience in itself.Then the sushi came and it was incredible. I had 2 different orders of sushi and 2 specialty rolls. I usually save the best for last but everything I ordered was the best I’ve ever had.I was visiting New York and will definitely go back
The atmosphere was good and the service wasnt too bad. However, the food I ate didnt sit well with me. Then I brought home my fiance shrimp tempura and five minutes later his stomach was upset as well. I dont think Im going to be coming back.
Pretty standard sushi, but thats not an insult; this isnt a high end sushi joint. Good prices for the area especially with the complementary saki.Environment was nice, easily carried out conversations. And the wait staff were good to us. Would certainly eat here again.
Server tired to make my husband and I tip him more. The service was bad , he kept sitting in the back playing on his phone, the food was ok, and it was empty. So guess what we will tip you what we want and he did not like that. Honestly I should have just took the tip back with how rude this place was. Manager didnt even step in to stop this non sense. We will never go back. I do not reccomend this place. Ive never been so disrespected in my whole life. It was my birthday dinner and it ruined our night.
Brought my daughter here for her 14th birthday on 12/30/17. Cozy space, nice ambience, good service but not amazing. Same for the food. Fresh and tasty but nothing special. No complaints but no real raves either for this place visit. Prices are fair. Wouldnt make a special trip into the city just to come here, but would definitely try them again.
Very good sushi. They dont allow miso soup substitution for clear soup though. I know it sounds so first world problem but others in the area do. Hot tea is very good. The spicy combo (3 spicy rolls) is my choice and I feel a better value than the lunch special.
This place used to be good but has declined drastically. The meats in the bento box keeps getting smaller but the price goes up. Today I ordered spicy crab roll which comprised primarily of RICE and literally bits of crab meat and droplets of the sauce.

Disappointed. We’ve been here before and returned because the food was good. Tonight the sushi had no taste. One of our party ordered tempura; so much panko that we could barely tell that it was seafood. Only the miso was memorable. We won’t be back.
I came to Azuki for their lunch special. The restaurant looks very clean and nice. I got their maki roll combo 2 and it has spicy tuna roll and yellow tail roll. It also comes with salad to start.Unfortunately, I was sitting waiting for my appetizer salad for over 15 minutes. They forgot about us until I reminded them about the missing salad. Then another long wait past, we got our sushi/entree finally. The maki was alright. It is fine for the area but it is not impressive in any sort of way.I think there are better places to get sushi lunch in the area and without the long wait.
Happy hour is the best! Fresh food all the time. Go 2x week.
The portions are pretty small and they charge you $1 for Sriracha hot sauce. But overall, the fish is fresh and I like the bento box lunch options.
Sushi was excellent for the price. The decor was very pleasing and laid back. The wait staff did not rush you, you were free to take your time and carry out your conversations. Would absolutely go back.

I called to get a delivery, I have limited time for lunch (which is partly why I wanted it delivered). I waited over 40 minutes for two tuna rolls. Had to call them back. They told me first of all that I hadnt ordered, then they told me they thought it was a pick up (why would you take my address for a pick up), then they claimed they were closed... Pretty sad excuses for ruing my lunch, and totally unprofessional. Now I have to go without lunch. Thanks so much....

Toro was kept well beyond it should so had to send it back. Rolls were pretty solid but nothing to rave about. Hard to get the servers attention in a pretty empty restaurant. Ok to go if you’re in a pinch and need to find something in the area but nothing to rave about! Unlikely to return.
This place offers amazing service and delightful food. The best spot around town. The meals arrived fast and the rates are inexpensive. Will definitely recommend this restaurant.
Possibly one of the best sushi restaurants in the city. The Venue is a little plain, but the food makes up for it. I always get the Passion and Sweet Potato Rolls. Money!

Very nice place to grab lunch at. Tasty teryaki chicken. The oyaku dan needs a bit of salt, but it also good. The miso soup isnt super fishy, its nice and light.
Very poor service. We were rushed to take order. I have dyslexia so it takes me longer to read menu. Staff argumentative and rude when challenged about rushing order. Not overly impressed. food quality better up the street.

Stood for 5 minutes, waiting to be seated for lunch, with no one acknowledging me being there at all. There were open tables, and a woman right there at the register busy looking down, to even see the growing crowd of people waiting to be seated. In the end I just walked out.
Good food , Good setting . Bad service . Waiters are slow and very curt . One always gave annoyed looks whenever someone asked him to do anything . Even tossed the menus on the table when seating someone . Would go again if waiters changed .
Azuki brings a fine dining experience to the mid day work week, It has excellent sashimi and the salmon is to die for. It is perfect with different types of teriyakis. In a town of sushi, it is a must go to.
A staple on any trip to NYC. Sushi is fantastic, good prices. Not a drinker, but my friends rave over the lychee sake here.
This is not about the food... its about the delivery man. I was crossing the road today at 4:10pm at 37th street and 9th avenue. The chinese looking delivery man was speeding on is cycle road, he came to a have abrupt halt as he saw me crossing and started yelling ridiculous abuses across the street. I have never in my 6 years of living in NYC experienced such CRUDE behavior. Azuki I expected that you would hire people who deliver food not abuses at the very top of their lungs.
The fish tasted very fresh, I used no soy sauce so I could taste every bite, and the portions are hearty. I definitely plan to return.

Just left there, the server tried to seat 5 people in a table for 4 and refused to move us. It was 11:45 am, the place was empty. I asked to speaker to a manager and the sever claimed the manager was not there. Will never go there again. Very poor service.

2022-03-02It’s truly impossible to find a decent restaurant anywhere near Madison Square Garden. Most of the restaurants either serve fast food or bad food. This was one of the best sushi places anywhere in NYC. Fish was incredibly fresh, every roll and appetizer was delicious and the service was wonderful. I would absolutely come again and again! 2022-05-17Very nice staff but the quality of food is very subpar for the price. Ive had better grocery store sushi. The katsu is not crispy enough. The oyakodon was pretty soggy and overly salted. The rice in the bento box is shamefully bad. I gave this place a bunch of chances because it is so close to my office but no more :/.
