The best bagel boss youll ever find in your life! The staff is so friendly and helpful, especially Ronit. He helped me and was very friendly. He gave me suggestions on what to get and the food and coffee was made fresh. I recommended this place to my friends and family and they all love it! I love grabbing my bagels and coffee from here.
Visited this place on Monday early morning. There was a line to get bagels but it didnt take that long to get the bagel. I got a dozen of bagels but pumpernickel bagel was not the one that I was looking for. The color of the bagel looked more like a whole wheat bagel to me. The whole wheat bagel was okay. I still need to try the garlic and onion bagel.Overall, it is the okay place for bagel/breakfast.
The bagels seem a little better in the day time than at night, probably for obvious reasons, but its hard to beat a 24 hour bagel spot. They have all the classic bakery goods as well. The store is clean and the staff are nice. Not my favorite bagel on the Island but definitely the most convenient.
Great selection of bagels and spreads. We got two cinnamon raisin bagel with strawberry cream cheese and scallion cream cheese and a everything bagel with strawberry cream cheese. Everything was great except for the part where they toasted the cream cheese with the bagels making most of the cream cheese drip and fall. All in all a great place for fresh bagels
Ordered bagels to bring home with us (we live out of state) and they were made fresh and packed perfectly. We have brought bagels from other places and these where by far the best we have ever gotten! Highly recommend this place and will definitely order from them again!
The guy behind the counter was more than helpful even though I came in extremely late at night. I had a very large order too and he was patient and didnt get frustrated even while another guest was waiting and even acknowledged him to let him know he would be right with him after me. Excellent customer service and the bagels are even better. The bakery good are good too but I didnt care for their cheese danishes.
The person helping me kept touching his face and adjusting his pants. It also took 3 people to give me back the correct change. I notice the workers are more interested in talking to each other than waiting on customers and providing good service. I stopped going because of the lack safety/cleanliness when handling food.
I ordered a pumpernickel bagel very, very lightly spread with cream cheese and salmon. I got a rye bagel with cream cheese so thick I needed to take it off and it measured a full half cup of cream cheese. The samon was so chewy. This cost me almost $14. It included potatoe salad and a pickle. The potato salad was good.
Very good bagels, usually get butter on everything bagel or lox plain toasted. Come here twoce a week good price. 3% fee doesnt bother me because I know how small businesses work and we all need to help the community business and also tosurvive to make profit and save money. The problem is the person who makes the food, can be hit or miss depending on the person. Some are superb and some I have to repeat the order 3-4 times :( and some sometimes put onions and peppers on my lox idk y :( overall very good :)
Love their bagels since the late 1970s. The establishment has increased in size and products. Family owned and a staple of communities. Open 7/24. Product moves fast so items are made fresh daily. Offers catering and delivery. Ample parking in and outside tables. Great place for families. Personally, I love moist large white fish and baked salmon. Price can be high but excellent product.
Its more to us than just a bagel shop,my husband and I make it a DATE NIGHT,they are open all hours and we live so far from the store so we make it a fun ride. Also, only because their food is ABSOLUTELY worth the trip, warm bagels each time we go. Simply THE BEST.♥️♥️♥️🌹🌹🌹‼‼‼
The bagels are good but they have recently decided to start charging a 4% fee for credit card purchases. I find it insulting they would comment that they value my business when credit card processing fees are one of MANY costs of doing business... While Ill probably still go there, it will only be when other bagel places are closed (huge advantage to bagel boss being 24x7x350(or so).
Always go there for the best bagels. They are always fresh and hot. The staff is very friendly and eager to help. They have a large variety of products from salads to pastries. I always like to go very late in the evening or very early morning. The prices are very reasonable.
After the reply from the nice people at bagel boss I thought I should edit my review and write something a little more coherent. Here it goes. This is my idea of coherent.I grew up near the Plainview store. They started out with a single storefront and it was busy day and night. They were smart enough to unlock the door while they made the bagels and people came in at all hours before finally going home after a long night out. No sooner did that rush end when working people would start coming in for breakfast before work. They make gigantic bagels made and cooked the right way and overstuffed with delicious tuna or chicken salad or vegetable cream cheese. Before long they needed more space and I think they took over a card store and Roman gardens restaurant. They have grown since then but they still do everything right. They serve the freshest fish, salads, baked goods, sandwiches not to mention soups, coffee and snacks. I wish they could make a bacon egg and cheese on an everything roll, but they cant and thats ok. You can order something that conforms to their traditions (many of which are quite delicious) or you may take an assorted dozen home, slice them and freeze them. They come back nice in the toaster oven, and you can do whatever you want with them!Bagel boss is family run and has been a fixture in the community for almost 50 years maybe longer Im not sure.Do not miss an authentic experience at the bagel boss....P.S. Their prices have always been reasonable especially considering the quality of the food.
This was my first time at bagel boss. The cashier was attentive, kind and sweet but she didn’t take off her gloves when she took my money. She touched the bagels and the money with the same pair of gloves. What’s the purpose of wearing gloves? Needless to say I will not return again. Don’t handle my food with dirty gloves.
NY recently made it legal to charge customers using credit cards more. Bagel Boss was quick to jump on that to rip off their customers. Technically, the dollars and cents charged for credit card usage have to be clearly displayed according to the law whereas Bagel Boss just says theyre going to charge an additional percentage, so if you want to split hairs Bagel Boss is breaking the law on top of just charging more for the same.Place gets very busy at peak times, such as Sunday afternoon. The line moves relatively fast and they have multiple employees helping customers, but since theres just one counter and register it can get kind of hectic and disorganized.Bagels are great though.
Wonderful service, good bagels. The everything bagel has everything on both sides of the bagel. Top and bottom. Which I think separates it from a lot of the bagel places around the area. They have cakes and pastries, they make salads too. They do not served anything with pork. But they have alternatives, like turkey bacon and so on.
Excellent bagels, when I say excellent bagels are you know what I’m talking about I consider myself an expert as far as bagels are concerned I was born in Manhattan grew up on the real Jewish hand made and put in boiled water... The old fashion way of making hot bagels .... put a Schmeer of cream cheese and chives… You’re in heaven I recommend bagel boss to all of my friends and some that aren’t my friends… Yet!,! If you live on Long Island you haven’t tasted a real bagel yet treat yourself to the best at bagel boss they also have delicious cakes
If I could give this place no stars I would! Their prices are outrageous!! $13.99 for whitefish on a bagel? $9.99 for tuna on a bagel? Total rip off! I went over to VILLAGE BAGEL IN SYOSSET ordered the same thing, and it was half price and sooooo much tastier. Im disgusted with the gouging of this place and will never ever go back and I suggest this community do the same! I posted a pict of the sandwiches from both places so you can see they are the same in terms of what they put inside.
I had to throw my bagels away as soon as I got home due to poor hygiene! by the server. I have been a customer of this Bagel Boss for decades, but I think I have had enough. The older manager-type person (always wears a hat) repeatedly touches money and does not change his gloves before touching more food! I have seen him do this multiple times and when I call him out on it, he takes the bagels out of my bag, tosses them back on the shelves and grabs different ones. So disgusting.
Doesnt get 5 stars because of extremely poor line management. They claim there is a line but half the time the staff doesnt serve customers in the order of the line and unless youre a regular customer you have a 50/50 chance of guessing where the line begins because they dont feel its necessary to post clear signage as to where the line starts.Update: They have made some subtle improvements in line management, they could do more though.Dropped a star because this family owned multi-million dollar company with roughly a dozen franchised locations has started charging a 3.85% fee for credit cards claiming hardship (see a popular review site for their comment on the topic). Because Id rather not pay this fee, Ive stopped ordering as much because I hate carrying cash. Raise all prices by a nickle and the combination of cash and credit cards payments will roughly balance this out and no one would be annoyed with unfriendly business practices. A bagel at 1.25 or 1.30 - virtually no ones going to care.Alternatively, be consistent... charge a nickel for utensils. A 25 cent surcharge for dining in (to cover the cost of cable television, napkins, and the square footage they provide for their dining space), a 25 cent to go fee to cover the wrapping of the bagel and the bag and napkins. Like the credit card surcharge, these are all *COSTS OF DOING BUSINESS*, but if youre not going to factor them *ALL* in to the price of your products, then charge separately for *ALL* of them and lower the price of the products!
I have been going here for years love this place but i went in today to see a sign that says they are charging customers almost 4 percent to use debit and or credit instead of cash..they are charging the customers the fee that the credit card companys charge to businesses for having the machine thats a fee that the businesses pay not customers its absolutely disgusting what they are doing this puts an extra at least 30k in the owners pocket a year!!! Will not ever come back i dont support people who do scumb bag things like this!! This place is very successful so there is no need for them to be doing this!! Its ppl like this that whats wrong w the world today ur taking advantage of others who put u there in the first place!! Karma will come!
I have been a customer at Bagel Boss for almost 20 years and crave their Bagels almost everyday since moving to Florida. BEST BAGELS IN NEW YORK... This is one of the places I always make sure to visit when I am back in New York. Highly recommend you check this place out!!
Best bagels in Hicksville, Nassau, Long Island, the NY metro area, and arguably everywhere else. Theyre always open except Jewish high holidays, and I mean even after Hurricane Sandy they had a generator and doors open. If youre not getting bagels here you dont really know bagels.
Bagel Boss is the best bagel place to go to. 😊🥯evary time i come back to long island me and my fiancee always come here. We 💜their bagels from here. My favorite bagels is poppy bagel. 🥯ime and my fiancee buyed a 2020 bagel boss t-shirts today. I recommend coming to this place if you want a good tasty bagel. My mom used to get bagels from here all the time.
If you are a tourist in the New York area, do not come here for a bagel. It will ruin you and you will cry that you have never really had a bagel before in your hometown and will never want another bagel aside from an authentic New York bagel shop like this one again. I have lived in 3 boroughs of New York City, Long Island and New Jersey and this place may just be the best bagel shop in the New York Metropolitan area. It is a bit on the pricy side. But they can get away with it with their never ending fresh bagels, salads and spreads and their 24 hour service. There is nothing quite like Bagel Boss anywhere else.
Was visiting from CA (grew up in NYC) and looking for a great bagel place. Came across Bagel Boss and they had such a large variety of items to choose from. Everything I brought from bagels to cookies and more was so delicious and brought back childhood memories. Took some bagels back to CA with me.
I was just charged 4.94 for a bagel with cream cheese by the lady. How is this even possible. I asked if that was the correct amount and she says yes, prices went up. 5 bucks for a plain bagel with cream cheese? Management please do something about this. I know she was rushed this morning g but this is just wrong. As a loyal customer for years, I am disappointed.
I Love this Bagel Boss! Nothing better then loxs & chive cream cheese on a warm bagel. Love my 24hr home away from home. You can go in 2am & find some type of bagel that is warm. You cant go wrong here. No matter what you order you cant go wrong. Loves the salads during the day & for your sweet tooth, theres a smorgasborg to choose from. My favorite are the M&M cookies. The batter is addicting. Kicks Town Bagels butt in every way, customer service & overall quality.
I really like this place a lot and you really cant beat their bagels but I usually call my order in in advance and this must be the 8th or 9th or 10th time they dont have it ready and in some cases dont even remember getting started on putting it together. Today when I arrived my dozen bagels were not waiting for me and I was told very apologetic lie that they just got too busy getting the orders done in a timely way
Each time I go to get a bagel and ice tea its a different price. One morning will be one price and the next morning for the same exact order its a $1.00 more or sometime even more then that. I dont understand it. Does each worker have their own set of pricing or is it set by the establishment? When I ask for an explanation the worker got very rude and when she went to hand me my bagel she threw the bag at me. I am seriously thinking its time to find a new bagel shop.
Please tell the employees to give spoons with orders. The past five times I ordered a soup they forgot to give me a spoon four out of five times. It is ridiculous. Otherwise the quality of the food is very good and the bagels are very tasty. However, the price of lox is very high.
I hesitated to write this review, but decided I should warn people about this place.I am giving them 5 stars for the food and 1 star for the service.I went in last night to order 2 bagels, lox spread and 2 pastries. Now I can add pretty well in my head and when the lady said $15.00 I thought something was off. My lox spread was $5.30 and I asked her how much the bagels were. She said 2 were $2.50. I asked how much the pastries were and she said $2.50 each. So its easy to figure out that $2.50+2.50+2.50+$5.30 =$12.80. When I asked her to ring it up again, I noticed she only gave me 1 pastry not 2 like I ordered so the bill should have been $10.30.So she overcharged me by almost $5.00. When I asked her to ring it up again, the manager comes over and instead of apologizing says to me that if all I have to worry about is $2.20 then I have it pretty good. I corrected him and said its $5.00 and its not his money. He then said I still shouldnt worry about it and why am I getting so upset. He said that she made a mistake. “Havent I ever made a mistake?” So instead of apologizing for his employees mistake (and I think he should watch her as she may be doing this to others), he argues with me and tries to turn this around on me.I told him I have a right to be upset. It was $5.00 and she messed up my order. I guess he started to realize that he was wrong and then says to me what do I want? “More bagels?, pastry?, 2 pastries?, a cake?” Now, if he offered me this sincerely and with an apology, I would have probably forgiven him and let it go, but his ATTITUDE was that he just wanted to get rid of me. I said that No. I dont want anything from you. I just want my correct order and my correct change. Then his employee (which I would have fired by now) tells him that the paper in the register is jammed. She couldnt even give me my $2.20 without causing more problems. At this point, he just give me my $2.20 and I leave. Now I just wanted to buy some bagels and cream cheese. Cant someone go to a store and not have their order messed up, be overcharged, and be argued with by the manager? I didnt even want to see the manager. He came over and started to get involved, the minute I asked her to ring it up again. In my onion, the manager must be a relative, because I would have fired him a long time ago.For future reference, you NEVER TAKE THE SIDE OF AN EMPLOYEE AGAINST THE CUSTOMER. At least not in front of the customer. You APOLOGIZE for the error, inconvenience, etc. and maybe offer the customer little something to make up for their bad experience with your business. Now Bagel Boss has been in business forever and I doubt I am going to make much impact with my one review, but I just wanted people to know that you may get your bagels, etc. but you may get a big side of ATTITUDE with it.
COME HUNGRY ...Food is always good and fresh . Best bagel in town . Salads are nice and fresh . good fast service . Place is nice and clean . Bathrooms are always clean. Soups are good and fresh . Good variety of food . Kosher food at affordable price . Breakfast specials are great value .
My friends and I go there almost every Friday. Bagels are very good but there is a young boy behind the counter that is extremely rude. Last week my friend questioned the price for a small coffee and bagel with cream cheese. His answer was...if you dont want to pay go somewhere else. We spoke to a man about this who said he was the manager. He apologized for the poor behavior. Going forward we went today and that same rude young man refused to serve us and was talking to other staff about us. I turned to my friend and I said he must be related to the owner because no one would act that way otherwise. He then yelled at me and said I am not related to anyone. Very embarrassing!!! Again spoke to the same man from last week who said he was the manager. His reponse was...thats a good thing! Are you kidding me???!!! We have been going there every Friday for 3 years and I order all my bagels there for my school. Guess we have to find a new place..we are done and I will pass the word around the community!
Walked into shop, looked real clean...Then walked over to salad counter where two people were behind the counter not doing anything, they looked at me and turned away not saying anything. I walked over to the register and again 4 people stood there not saying or doing anything. Finally one young woman asked if I needed help...I asked if they have any lunch meat, at that time another employee cut into the conversation rudely, obnoxiously saying that this is a Kosher place and there is no meat served there. ROLLED his eyes turned his back to me ...I grew up around and with Jewish families and know what KOSHER means...To the OWNER of Bagel Boss,, inform your employees what KOSHER means...I will attempt again another day soon...How could you employ such an idiot...
Great place for bagels. i visited there for the first time and didnt know how to order and asked one of the worker there. he was really helpful and the other crews were polite as well. the food was all delicious and bagels were awsome. definitely recommand to others and revisit.
They dont have real bacon, only soy bacon, and they will no longer be carrying pepper jack cheese as of 8/20/18. My BEC cost over $6 and I promise I wont be coming back again lol.. The place is big, clean, and I didnt have a bagel (had a roll) so Ill give them the stars for that. Hope this helps! - Lendy
Great food..yet takes 15 min or longer for a simple bagel with lox cream cheese spread... only 5 people on line... I dont get why I see 6 people staff in front, 3 working other 3 just chilling while there is a line...It was around 9am, going to work got no time to wait that long, I ended up going different place... SOMEONE NEEDS TO MANAGE THIS!
Walked into the Hicksville location today, looking for fresh hamentashen (holiday baked treat for Purim). We were offered to sample some ruggulah and hamentashen, turned out to be the best since my mom stopped baking them over 40 years ago. We are enjoying them tonight and will be back to buy more for sure!
Terrible service &’ very very slow. next time either call ahead or walk in an hour before you intend to do anything for the rest of the day. i was standing in line waiting &’ hoping for a bec, the blonde girl was attending customers all around me and blatantly ignored me standing there. so i walked over to get a bagel instead and still waited another 10 minutes to be helped.
I am never coming back here again I dont know why the Prices are always increasing I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and a medium ice coffee I dont know why I got charged $9.50 It should be less than that I had it with the overcharging and the small portions this is not right
Literally worst customer service and the one women behind the counter has literally messed up my order 4 times in a row cant seem to ever remeber to toast the bagel pretty simple order just cant grasp it staff poorly trained and extremely expensive will never go back after the 5th time today it was messed up

2022-07-07Loved it. So many different salads to choose from and the bagels are delicious and fresh. I ordered a tuna melt on a bagel and it came with a little potato salad and a pickle, which was really awesome and also delicious! They had cookies and many other items! Pizza place located right next door, and theyre open really late!

2021-09-08This place is on the short list jockeying for position in the race for Goat. If this place was a WWE wrestler its finishing move would be the 24hour bagel toaster. The staff is super helpful and will always answer any questions you may have. They are known to serve up some more fluffy airy bagels rather then the crispy crunchy verity but if you prefer crispy crunchy bagels just ask for it toasted.

2022-05-07Stopped in on a Thursday 10:30 am. I was surprised at the ultra slow service. Ordered a toasted bagel with scrambled, bacon and American. It would have been nice if I was told the bacon is a soy alternative. (Disgusting)Overall, the service was poor, sandwich could have been better.(The bagel itself was good)Wont be visiting again as we were passing by, its not close, and not worth the drive to me.

2022-03-03Stopped in for a buttered bagel and got a Butter Sandwich. Literally 1 1/2 inches of packed butter on a Bagel. Gross. Threw it in the garbage.Called and spoke to Manager who said some customers prefer that much butter. Why , I don’t know but to each his own. Told her I threw it away and she suggested next time I should ask for a lightly buttered bagel. I spent $3 and threw it out. Never offered to replace it.Sorry, there will be no next time. 🙁

2022-04-30What a mess line around the store and you wait on the same line for a cup of coffee as you do a dozen bagels to go, or an egg sandwich. Workers are laughing w each other like no one is waiting. What a joke ran out and headed up to village bagel on Jackson where you will get the best bagels and service. Never again !! Or head to French workshop across the street where they know how to help a customer in less than an hour lol!

2022-06-03You can not just get a bagel with cream cheese and lox, you have to pay for a whole. meal. I was charged $15.80 for just the sandwich, as though it was a full meal (did not want anything else). Bad way of doing business.

2020-06-22What great kosher bagels! I really enjoyed the lunch I had here. And the French vanilla coffee was delicious. The line moves quickly and we were able to enjoy our food while it was hot. Outdoor dining was available as well.

2019-10-26Good bagels and pastries. Large selection of kosher foods, perfect place for lunch or a late night snack. They are open 24 hours a day which is wonderful. Closed on Jewish holidays. Really nice sitiing area with a large tv and bathrooms. Large parking lot so you can always find a spot. Overall a great bagel place plus a whole lot more.

2022-01-01This place is definitely not for everybody. Very little flavor in their food. It seems that they only do vegetarian or vegan food because I cant understand why their food is lacking in flavor, even with bread! Or rather bagels. I got a sesame bagel and it was the most flavorless bagel Ive ever had in my life! If this is indeed a vegetarian or vegan place than I guess it is fine. But if you are expecting a regular bacon, egg on a bagel, look elsewhere.
