Very pricey …one BLT and a soda was about $15.00. Potato salad had hair in it… was very disgusted. Wasn’t even a good BLT

Im giving a one star review. Not because I heard they cant get orders right and not because they say manager is abusive, I never even made it to that point. The reason is because a heavy set, Hispanic individual was rude to me on my first visit to the bagel shop. I tried to asked a question the man was so rude to me. I asked if he would consider taking my order. Immediately he gave me a hostile look on his face and the employee told me to enter through the back entrance and he would meet me out back. I went out back and there were a pile of cars parked and people pushing and shoving each other in a dirty hallway. I asked one calm individual what was happening and he said they are upset about their picking up orders, I immediately left the facility and I will not be returning.
Excellent selection of bagels, and I can say they’re a perfect example of what a New York bagel should be. Their jalapeño cream cheese is awesome, but spicy, if you like that. Also have today, their macaroni salad is top notch. All around great place, love it.

Tuna salad, chicken salad, lowfat egg white spinach salad, & low fat honey mustard chicken salad.Large assortment of coffee, tea & juices.Plenty of seating. Fast, friendly service.The restaurant is clean.The line on a Sunday morning is long but it moves quickly! :)
Wow Fresh Food! Great options! I never knew this little gem was hidden right here in plain site! Loved loved the salad checklist starting with tuna and egg salad on top, add tomatoes peppers onions cucumber dressing many different options, meat on top of course for the carnivores like me, point is it was healthy felt good taste better & I went in there to get a egg bagel cheese bacon breakfast sandwich 🥪 my girlfriend did and that was also terrific I know because I stole a bite. What youll love is the freshness of the product fast high turnover thats how you know youre getting good food.
They are always so friendly and professional. When I start my morning deliveries I always drive here first because I know Ill be able to have a great start to my day. On some days I even get offered a fresh bagel if another customer from a delivery service ends up canceling an order. This is one of the busiest bagel places that I know of. If you are going during peak hours, it will be packed! The food is really good but my one complaint is the salad size. The large size is more like a medium or a big small. This is kind of disappointing since a salad with grilled chicken is around 15$. I highly recommend their shrimp salad on a pumpernickel bagel!
Sydney (sorry if I spelt it wrong) was amazing with helping me out. I had a huge order and she made sure everything was correct and made to our liking! I want to say thank you so much for your kindness and patience with me! I can only say great things about Bagel Chalet! Everything is alway so fresh and tasty, the breakfast sandwiches are like biting into heaven. No.Joke. We order every Friday and you guys always satisfy in every way! Love you guys! We love Bagel Chalet! A friend raved about their great chopped salads, so we decided to try them a few months ago and werent disappointed. It was definitely worth the 20 minute ride (hard to find a chopped salad on the south shore), and bonus: you get a choice of a free bagel or bag of bagel chips! And the owner is the best... so friendly and accommodating! Weve been back a bunch of times and will continue to do so!

This place is the absolute WORST. Never a time where my order wasn’t messed up. They refuse to toast my bagel when I ask repeatedly - who likes cold bagels?? Why is a hash brown an option if you’re not going to include it every time I ask for one? The bacon is beyond burnt. THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS...WRONG??? I went there with my boyfriend who wanted a bagel w lox spread. i am low-carb so i was considering a wrap or salad but there were all either 8.99 or 9.99 except for ONE that said 5.99. I picked up the salad waiting forEVER for the bagel, only to be told that THEY HAD MARKED THE SALAD WRONG and i still had to pay 9.99! so when they rang up my boyfriends bagel it came to exactly $4.00-- the amount they fought with me over, and we just walked out so they could lose the $4.00 anyway. At least the manager was nice enough to remind me that I wasnt in a supermarket!!!! HA NO my friend, youre a small business that just lost 2 customers and hopefully more after reading my post!!!!!
CRAZY overpriced, $20 for 2 bagels and an arizona
Ive loved their bagels since I was in high school. I used to come here for lunch during my lunch period at Commack HS. So every time I come back, its like a trip back in time. The bagels have always been great. The cream cheese is great. The only difference between then and now....is, im old enough to be a parent to the staff. Theyre wonderful and polite. Just as theyve always been.
Food is great but....... place was packed had to be over 30 people in this tiny place plus a lady with no mask was repeatedly coughing into her hands then standing by the cold drinks she kept touching and picking the kid drinks that had mickey and mini mouse on the top for like 5 mins while still coughing into her hands. No one said anything, eventually she asked how much was the drink and they answered her by name so i guess shes a usual customer. Im not trying to cause trouble but she made me feel sick in the stomach they way she was hacking away and standing next to a bunch of young kids who also didnt have mask, we are never going to get over covid this way.
Manager is not respectful person. He told me all driver has to use back door . I said ok can I pick up my food next time I can come back door . he said no go out and use back door . He has some problems with Muslim people. I will never go there again .
Bagel Chalet makes the best bagels! Every time I’m in the area visiting family, I will stop there every morning for breakfast. The staff is wonderful too!

I was told this was one of the best places in Long island to get bagels. I was not disappointed! I came from a world of lenders bagels and there is a day and night difference between the two. Bagel chalet is my go-to bagel place whenever Im in Long island! Highly recommend it!
So gross! The bacon is burnt the avocado is brown. My husband says his was burnt on his sandwhich as well.. You pay a premium for the worst food. One time they forgot my bacon we realized when home and they refused to refund my card. Really annoying. I get gluten free bagels due to celiac disease and everytime they have some other cross contaminated topping on it. They taste terrible too. Wont be back.
I used to love bagel chalet. The staff was nice and food was great. Now every time I go, my order is messed up. Always. The prices are ridiculously high. $10+ for bacon egg and cheese with avocado? After paying the unbelieveable price, I got home to enjoy the sandwich and the eggs were almost completely raw and there was NO AVOCADO! I am very disappointed with the service.
Good food, but extremely overpriced. paid 9.50 for a bacon egg and cheese with hash brown. never have had to pay over $5 for a bacon egg and cheese with hash brown. i don’t recommend it. 75 cents for just lettuce and $8 for turkey on a sandwich. absolutely insane. i don’t recommend buying unless you are loaded or just do not care at all.
I love Bagel Chalet. I came here all my life and was out of state for the past couple years and when i came back this was one of the first places I was craving! I love the egg everything bagels, the cream cheese is so good, also the bacon egg and cheese on a roll is delicious. One of the best places around. Chopped salads and sandwiches are also amazing. Ive eaten here over 100 times and never had a bad meal. No lies!

I have been a Bagel Chalet, COMMACK NY customer for over 30 years (both owners.) I support local business and have enjoyed Bagel Chalet’s service and food for a very long time. But I need to share what happened to me last week so you can make safe choices for yourself during and after this pandemic.I am a 66-year-old woman and was on the line social distancing last week and wearing my mask.The area can be tight while waiting in line, but everyone ahead of me was keeping their distance.As I was waiting, a group of young people got in line behind me. One of the couples (clearly under the influence of a substance) were being very inappropriate and kept bumping into me. I moved ahead a little, and they moved as well; I realized what was happening, so I asked if they could keep their distance and showed them the markers on the floor to indicate where everyone should be standing. In the loudest tone, the guy looked at me, then called me a vulgar word several times, and then took off his mask and coughed directly on me. The store went silent. All of the counter clerks stopped and watched, including the owner Nick. I stood up for myself and told him to quit it and back up.He proceeded to repeat the vulgar words without a mask. A male customer stepped in and told him to stop that language and be respectful while another male customer went up to Nick to tell him what was going on, but Nick watched the whole scene and did absolutely nothing. He never told the young man to put his mask back on; he didn’t tell him to calm down or make him leave the premises. He just stood behind the front counter in full view and did nothing to protect his customers.After I placed my order, I walked to the counter to pay, Nick just looked at me and never said a word...no sorry, no I will speak to this fool once he sits down; he did not even ask if I was okay after being verbally assaulted at his establishment while he watched.So after 30 years of frequenting this establishment, the Bagel Chalet and I will part ways...Nick and his staff should be ashamed of themselves for not supporting a customer that has walked through those doors multiple times a week for three decades. The almighty dollar was too much for Nick to think clearly and do the right thing!Be safe out there...
Ok, so Ive been coming here for many years and its always the best. Today, however, I got a dozen bagels, many of which were extremely overcooked. Sadly, I did not look in the bag until I got home in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Ill go to Bagel Chalet again, but when you only get your favorite bagels once or twice a year it was an extreme disappointment.
Best bagels on long Island. This place is almost always busy, but the line moves and the staff is excellent. They have a great selection of breakfast and lunch options. Everything I have tried here has been excellent. Highly recommend their French toast. Only downside is they are a little pricey compared to other bagel shops. But, you do get what you pay for so it is not a knock against them.
This store, for the 2nd time screwed up the simplest order. Grilled cheese with tomato salt and pepper. So simple. And for the 2nd time I get to work and open up to 2 slices of cold American and a slice of tomato between 2 slices of uncooked bread. I will still come here, it seems to be only the Latin employees that screw this up. I dont think they even know what grilled cheese is!!!! Unreal
Best bagels on long islandBeen their customer for over 20 years. Bagels are excellent and I have shipped them to friends and family across USA. Occasionally we will slice and freeze excess bagels at home and after reheating, they taste same as fresh. Nick is running a great operation. Thank you.
One of the best bagel shops anywhere. Real bagels, the way they used to be made. Full deli with TONS of choices. Lines may be long, but they move quickly so dont be daunted. Great coffee, too.
I really wanted to give this place 5 stars because they consistently make excellent breakfast sandwiches. However, I was told they have great bagels (which they are good) so decided to try one and got a buttered bagel with practically no butter at all. It was such a ridiculously small amount that at first glance I thought they forgot to put it on. Someone else ordered a buttered roll and also received practically nothing. My brother orders bagels with cream cheese and I can say they always put a generous amount. I dont know if we just happened to get someone who is super frugal with butter, but Ill definitely stick to getting their breakfast sandwiches from now on.
I continue to try to give this place a chance, but my order is wrong every time and the portions are extremely cheap. The amount I pay for an egg sandwich compared to the mess I receive is outrageous.

I literally got an egg and cheese sandwich with salt and pepper. Tell me why when I took a bite there was no cheese, salt or pepper and just a egg. I even got charged for all the stuff I didn’t even get on the sandwich.
Best selection of breakfast and other foods. Service is always excellent, helpful staff and quick orders even when the line is long. Been going there for years and it never disappoints

I actually really like the food from this place but there delivery service is not great and apparently they charge people whatever they want. I ordered a wrap from there menu that states all wraps $7.99 with no bacon and they charged me for a $9.99 salad and added miscellaneous tax on top of regular tax. When called to clarify they said at the bottom of the menu it says prices subject to change. Which it did say but they still didnt acknowledge the fact that they charged me for something I didnt even order. Unfortunately I wont be ordering from them anymore.
The bagels here are good, they cook their eggs well, and the variety of bagels and other foods make it a great breakfast stop. There is a decent sized seating area, and the staff were all courteous.
My most favorite place for breakfast lunch and dinner. The bagels are delicious, and warm in the morning. Acai bowls are the best of anywhere. Salads, sandwiches, soup, all yummy. I get dinner from here at least twice a week and breakfast at least once. Been a customer for many years and drive out of my way to get here.

Over priced food with disgusting quality. The seeds don’t even stay on the bagel and be caruful to check your order before you leave. If you order a half pound of cream cheese they will over weigh it to charge you more. Save your money and go somewhere else where you aren’t paying an arm and a leg for mediocre food.
Very good bagels. Most of the food here is great. I love their chicken salad. Its my favorite. The pastries are all really good too, except the Irish soda bread. Thats about the only thing Ive had from here that I have not liked. That said, the muffins are to die for!!!!!I am not a big fan of the set up and when it is really crowded (which is most of the time) you constantly have to push to try to get to the cashier. Once you order there is nowhere to go to wait except around the center island and the walkways get really congested.
This place used to be great even though prices were absurdly high. But now the bagels have been cut to half the size. No value here. They changed the coffee as well a while back. Now it’s just your run of the mill Long Island Bagel shop.
I ordered a chopped salad with romaine, carrots, black olives and cucumber. When I got it there was bacon in it. I do not eat meat. This is careless and unacceptable. Do better!

Over-rated bagel place, but certainly has earned its reputation in terms of food quality. The salad options are extensive. A bit of a wait almost all the time which is bothersome if you just want a bagel, but again, the food is usually worth it.
I loved this place before I looked at my recipe to find they charged too much for a piece of lettuce on sandwich. The people work too hard I feel sorry for them
Great place. Huge assortment of bagels, flagels, rolls and bialys. Everything is fresh including all the salads. Tuna, chicken, egg egg white etc. Very clean and the service is very fast. 2 egg sanwiches and 2 deli sandwiches in under 7 minutes on a Sunday.
Quality quality food. They always make sure that you have everything you ordered and are always on beat. Generally a really busy spot, so the wait is a little longer than other places, but definitely worth it. 1000% recommend
Bagel Chalet has started a policy of charging a 3% service fee for using a debit or credit card. Their prices are pretty expensive as it is. Dont mind paying because the food is good. But this is unreasonable when you consider how expensive it is to order food here. I will not be going to bagel chalet any more. $34 for bagels, cream cheese and salads is enough. To tack on another $1 is just being greedy.

I recently catered from the bagel chalet. I ordered lunch for my daughter’s bridal shower. My order was assorted wraps and salads. I also ordered breakfast and lunch for the morning of my daughter’s wedding. I was extremely happy with both of my orders. The shower lunch was the end of June. It was so easy dealing with the staff at bagel chalet. They understood what I was looking for. They delivered on time and with a smile. The wedding was August 4th and when I went to place my breakfast and lunch order for the morning of the wedding I was greeted with the same pleasantness as I received placing my order for the shower. The food came on time. It was hot where it should have been hot and cold where it should have been cold. Not only did they deliver the food but they delivered anything that could possibly go with my order. Such as napkins and plates and utensils. They even deliver milk and half-and-half for the ice coffee jug. It was a pleasure doing business with them. I will definitely use them in the future. And one last thing. The food is amazing and fresh. Thank you very much for all you have done for me and my family. You may both days very special !
This place is awesome. I have been eating N.Y.bagels all my life and these guys are one of the best I have had. The staff was friendly and fast. This is the kind of business you want to support. Not some corporate ihop. These guys are doing a beautiful thing.
I ordered a plain bagel and it had so many seeds in it it was ridiculous, it was to the point that it wasnt even plain anymore! I asked for a refund and was denied, this place is dirty.
Got a bacon egg cheese with avocado and it came to $9.20. Good food but prices are way too high. They also charge almost $3.00 for a small coffee. Not worth it.
Took very long to get our order, in fact it looked like they forgot all about us until we asked for our order. There was a man even standing against the wall doing nothing, so what was the issue? Customer service is terrible, they’re obviously careless here.

I’ve been going there forever and today I ordered a turkey BLT and was finish up my sandwich until I found a dead smashed fly in my sandwich absolutely disgusting fkn place is lucky I didn’t call them up. I don’t recommend may look nice and clean but it disgusting.

Some of the best and most authentic bagels youll find. If youre in the area, stop and grab one. They are made in the more traditional manner, rather than steamed as most places do.
The food is great but the Lady who answers the phone is a total B*tch. My company orders breakfast there atleast 3 days a week and she always has an attitude. She should know that they are not the only game in town. We will think twice before ordering from there again.
Not sure if everyone is racist at this bagel place but when arriving the guy working maybe he the owner or not but he kept on starring at me. I felt very unconfortable as an African American. Wont be coming back here anymore. People beware of this place. Maybe owner doesnt like black people coming to his shop.

Staple to Commack, huge selection. Moved out of state. Came back for my 40th HS reunion. Brought bagels and lox spread home. Still delish! Found out they deliver!!!!!! So very happy!

Potato salad is gross. Dont get it. Forgot my bacon and terrible customer service. If you forget something I ordered there should be something extra you do. It is the worst to overpay for breakfast drive home and see that the people suck at their jobs and cant get your order right.

Bagels are just good. Lines are always way too long. They dont give free bagels with the dozen like most other bagel places. Only good thing is they have low carb bagels.

Acai bowl light on acai, heavy on fruit. Very yasty and enjoyable. Low carb bagel didnt taste low carb. Two acai bowls, 2 coffees and one bagel $31 with tax. A bit pricey. One more star if money no object.

I catered my daughters bridal shower, wraps and salads, I must say that I received more compliments on the quality, taste, presentation and freshness. It was held at a winery out east and thanks to Bagel Chalet that helped make this shower such a huge success.

Terrible experience today!! Within 10 min there were 3 incorrect orders. I asked front desk to make our order correct and the team still did not get it right. Waited a total of 30 min and walked out the door. Told the manager i’m never going back. Management and team breakdown today needs to be fixed!

2021-07-05Visiting Long Island from Florida with my girlfriend. She took me to my first deli. DUDE… IT’S SO GOOD!! SO WORTH THE WAIT. The line was seriously 40+ people but we waited and it was super worth it. Super friendly staff too taking the orders. 10 out of 5 stars

2021-08-07This is by far the most incredible bagel place I’ve ever been to. I moved out of smithtown recently and didn’t get the opportunity to order every weekend for delivery anymore ! I finally came back to visit family & had to stop by . If you’re looking for a clean & delicious bagel place to eat at , this is the place ! The staff has the rush down pat with a flawless system to have orders out efficiently . I wish I could give this place 10 stars ! Well done guys

2022-05-23Nice place. Food is average. The biggest complaint i have is its very expensive. They charged me 1.50 each to add lettuce and tomato to my sandwich. I could see maybe .50. My wife and I ordered a salad and chicken sandwich which came to 35 bucks. Very pricey for deli type food. Again, no complaints about the food as it was ok but I will be going to other local places in the future.

2022-07-023 strikes you are out!!!! I went for my last time to BAGEL CHALET, it was empty so that was nice. All I get is 1 scrambled egg with extra bacon. The cashier was told 4x to make sure I was charged for the extra bacon.I paid $16 and change for that sandwich and a large ice tea.Not only was there NO BACON, but the sandwich was inedible.Who checks their egg sandwich, nobody!!!Believe me this is not only my last time going there but I will make sure to take my familys business, especially all the catering that we do, to a place that cares and gets the orders right before you are charged.SHAME on you guys.

2018-08-23Lovely busy little deli/bagel shop I love this place they have a lot of people friendly people on staff to help keep things moving quickly it didnt take long at all they even will bring you your meal to the nice tables that they have big glass window so you can watch people going by or coming in and out hot coffee they got everything thats a full-service Deli as well I highly recommend this place!!
