We were just visiting Brooklyn. We were very happy with the food. The service was slow but we were not in a hurry so no big deal. I had a plain bagel with cream cheese. It was the right amount of cream cheese for me. Another person in our group had the breakfast bagel and it was great. We liked this place. The atmosphere was nice. The people were very nice. Just a little slow.
Friendly shop owners and a great selection of bagel flavors that are baked daily. The bagels are well priced. The shop has seating room and outlets for a longer visit or working session. The smoothies werent made with real fruit or at least, not real mangoes. Which is a bummer since it starts at $5 for a small - a higher price for syrup.Ill definitely be back and bringing friends. We just wont get the smoothies again.
I don’t know what happened with this place. My husband and I used to love it and went almost every weekend. The bagels were a nice size for a good price and were really good! Went today and the bagels were half the size for the same price. They got notuceably smaller. I get it rent is high in the neighborhood but cutting down on the size and quality of your bagels is only going to make you lose the customers you already have. This is not the way to save money especially for a business that is still relatively new in the neighborhood.
Looks are not deceiving here - I know a good bagel when I see one. Not only does Bagel Story display their bagels creatively on rods in a glass case increasing eye appeal, but the taste and texture of the bagel lives up to its scrumptious look. My favorites are the zaatar and sesame.Every time I visit Bagel Story I try something new, and by far I have not been disappointed. My top 3 picks and recommendations are the minestrone soup, the roast beef hero, and the chicken cranberry salad on a bagel - all absolutely delicious!I appreciate Bagel Story for constantly having something new and creative. Ive dealt with most of the staff and they are always willing to satisfy their customers.
I don’t think this place is for me , but it might be for others who are looking for fresh pastry.I have ordered twice from this location. On my first visit, I ordered a toasted bagel with cream cheese. I was disappointed. The bagel was barely toasted and had a mountain of cream cheese. The bagel itself was great. If you are ordering bagels for a staff event, this is a great location. The bagels are made on the spot.I decided to give this place a try again. I bought a toasted bagel with butter and a nondairy latte. My tummy hurled after eating this combo. The bagel was swimming in oil from too much butter and the latte taste like Caramel coffee syrup.I don’t think this place is for me , but it might be for others who are looking for fresh pastry.I’m a very picky person and I tend to prepare my food myself because it’s so hard to find a location that prepare things the way I like it.On my next trip to this location, I would purchase pastries to go.
This was new since the last time I was in town. We were hungry and decided to walk the dogs over. No, dogs are not allowed, we had someone waiting outside for them. It was 10am Sunday morning and not crowded, yet the service seemed to take forever still. I ordered two of the 7 grain bagels with the cheese, eggs, and turkey bacon.-Honestly, my breakfast sandwich or burrito I should have made with tortilla or bread would have been tastier. The bagels were pretty dry. Not sure how you can mess up eggs and bacon, or maybe it was the dryness of the bagel, but the dogs certainly enjoyed the rest of the sandwich.
I stopped in today for a bagel with tofu cream cheese. As soon as I got the bagel, I was turned off by the consistency and color of the tofu cream cheese, which was made with tomatoes and onions and the tofu was chunky instead of creamy. Or, more curdled than chunky. I should have said something to the clerk but didnt want to risk looking silly or rude, so I ate it. I regret it. Im home sick now and have been sick for the last hour. The tofu cream cheese was definitely suspect. Im assuming it doesnt get ordered frequently and had gone bad. Would never order again and will honestly never stop by again. Giving two stars because the woman working the register was so sweet.
Not even a real bagel place. They have neither egg bagels nor pumpernickel bagels, and they gave me some horrible tofu and veggie scramble concoction (not cream cheese) on my bagel when I asked for plain tofu cream cheese and a slice of tomato. Any standard bagel shop in NYC should be able to handle this order.
Today I ordered a toasted bagel with a slice of swiss cheese melted with tomato slices and red onions. On their first attempt, I was given American cheese, on the second attempt, I was given cold swiss cheese in a non toasted bagel. I gave them two stars because the coffee was good and the store has a bathroom. My order was simple but they could not get it right.
Convenient location and a really good bagel. The vegetarian/vegan toppings options could use improvements - the tofu spread looks old and not appetizing. Bagel story would benefit from having a branded non-dairy cream cheese spread or a humus option available to their customers.
An awesome bagel shop , I tried their bagels and omelettes platter amazing . Testy food and the best bagel I ever had , highly recommend for fast and great quality food service. But the second time I want there the guy on the Gril was touching the Veg with his hand without wearing a gloves 🤧, I ask him why he said no body complains ???? Really I was Hungary before he said that then I lost my appetite to eat 🤬
No non-dairy options. Every bagel place in nyc has tofu cream cheese now, or at least whitefish salad for god sakes. Months ago they had literally mashed up tofu as an option which looked insanely disgusting and is definitely not the same as tofu cream cheese. When I asked for non dairy options they stated they never get requests for it but in just these few reviews 2 other people mention they lack non dairy options. Get with the program Bagel story. You are not up to par with the rest of NYC.
Great bagels, great sandwiches(bacon/egg/cheese on toasted garlic is my go to), and great selection overall.two petty things keeping this from being 5 stars, though:-there are two sandwiches on the menu that have the same name, which makes it pretty annoying to try to order one-there’s no lock on the bathroom door, and no way to tell when someone’s in there. makes for a nervous time in there
I feel this place should have definitely better reviews. I live in the Upper West Side and this could be my favorite bagel place, even if it’s so far away. Bagels are so good (I think about them and I am hungry instantly), the attention is also great, and the prices are convenient. What else? It makes me so happy to get breakfast here. Thanks thanks thanks!
I saw Bagel Story open a few days ago and decided to go in today. I ordered the mediterranean Sandwich. I was recommended the Jalapeño-Cheddar Bagel. Im not a huge fan of Jalapeños but always willing to take a chance I agreed.I also ordered a coffee (which was good) and a cheese danish (which was great as well) but my sandwich was DELICIOUS!!Bagel Story has a large seating area and free WiFi. They make the bagels on the premises and even make the infamous Rainbow Bagel (or as I call it the #Bagelashi69).Fulton Street is full of horrible places to eat with only a few gems in the mix. Bagel Story is sure to become on of its gems if they keep up the good work.Go to Bagel Story.
*UPDATED REVIEW!*~So, unfortunately I must update this review. I went from giving Bagel Story my business two times a week to no longer going there at all. My last two experiences were negative. They refuse to put salt, pepper, ketchup, and hot sauce on my egg and cheese even despite the fact that they used to do it every time when they first opened. I think it’s bullsh*t and sheer laziness. The employees here have the worst attitudes ever. It’s unacceptable....It’s NY. It’s not uncommon to want SPKH on your sandwich. I went here yesterday, hoping they’d actually listen and make my pricey food correctly. Well, they didn’t. They didn’t even put salt or pepper on it!!! The eggs were so bland and tasteless even with dipping it into a tiny little ketchup container they gave me. I was NOT happy and I will no longer be wasting my money here. Go to Wholesome Foods on Atlantic instead. They aren’t lazy and have no issues cooking your food the way you want it!
This is a new place that just opened and wow.... As a native New Yorker and over 30 years of bagel experience , I will have to admit that this in my top favorites. The toasted bagel with maple walnut cream cheese was perfectly toasted . Crispy on the outside with a tender crumb on the inside.I recommend all the locals and visitors go to this place immediately.Few recommendation for management: please get some coffee cup sleeves and get that breakfast sandwich going!!Oh and please fix that broken mosaic tile at the front entry. I recommend a metal strip on the edge so that it wont chip.Update: 2-18-2018: get some sleeves for the cups!
Its more 3.5 stars but I rounded up. The place is nice but everytime i get a protein shake (the same kind) its made differently. Im even wondering if their using a full scoop because Im not tasting the chocolate and theres too much ice. I ordered an omelette and asked to hold the cheese. Got to work and it was topped with cheese. Okay i can just scrape that off but there was cheese inside as well. Im not gonna throw away and $8 breakfast but I did not enjoy it. Ill have to be a lot more specific with my shakes because theres not alot of healthy options around here.
New place in niegborhood ..come here in morning before work..bagels a good ..but service in the morning is horrible..a cashier that does not know what she is doing and a lazy cook . Morning is the most important time forShowing commuters good service and food.Bagel story fails ..come for lunch ..service may be better..
Ordering is chaos. Its very confusing to figure out what youre supposed to order. The cashiers receive items piecemeal from the cooks then dont know which items go with which order or who ordered what. They charged me $6.50 for $3.50 sandwich because they ran out of ingredients then neglected to tell me there was an upcharge for the alternatives ingredients, then tried to also sell me someone elses coffee as well. Oh and that extra $3 was literally for a single slice of deli meat.
Very rude i walked in and stood on the line and waited 10 minutes before i had to say something and announce myself..they responded very rudely saying they were short staffed and over flooded with deliveries..in which point i stated but can i at least be greeted informed something?? He scoffed and said no and proceeded to make orders i also noticed dust on the bagels that were hanging..i will never go back to a place rushing to make orders that they ignore cleaning Especially now..plus i own a business around the corner i will also tell my customers never to go there
I had such an amazing experience with these place I just walked in for 2 dozen bagel but instead these people offered me a catering package which my boss and everyone in office loved it I cant wait for our next meeting so I can order them again all employee were nice place were clean with A grade .

2019-06-15First I like to say I had high hopes for this place the decor and ambiance of the place is lovely. With that being said I am highly disappointed. Firstly it is way over priced, secondly I ordered my food to stay but it was served in to go containers .I ordered a grilled chicken and it was bland unseasoned and a mess,it came with approximately 10 individual chips for $10. My husband ordered a pastrami 1888 and he is pleased with it but his came with less chips then mines did. He also ordered a blues clues smoothie it doesn’t say that it comes with milk on the menu but there is milk in it. The man who took my order I think could have been new he didn’t seem to know the pos system well. Overall this place could be better. P.S I thought the chips were freshly made but I think they are bag chips.

2018-08-24Love the quite chill vibe. Cashier is friendly, bagel tasted good. Had a bagel egg and cheddar and it was tasty. Coffee was ok and over all I would definitely revisit in the near future.

2019-02-21I ordered from this bagel shop yesterday and for the price the food is decent . I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on a wheat bagel and a soup. I wasn’t too pleased with the taste of the soup , but the sandwich was good . The bacon was not salty , the egg had vegetables and cheese cooked inside of it. The wheat bagel was fresh and soft . In my opinion this sandwich tasted healthy , which is something I’m not use to when eating a conventional Bacon egg and cheese sandwich .All in all the food was good and the person running the shop called me on the phone to ask me what kind of bagel I wanted because they ran out of plain bagels by 12:00. I do appreciate the fact that they called me .

2019-01-10Amazing bagels but some of the worst service Ive ever had. They got my order wrong (all three bagel sandwichs) so I walked back and they put up a fight about correcting the order. They were really busy and had too many tickets.

2018-02-01Heres my #BagelStory. A friend and I decided to check out Bagel Story since it was relatively new to the block. She got an egg & cheese on a sesame bagel, I got the Brooklyn Morning (egg, cheese, turkey bacon w/ s&p) on an everything bagel. We even traveled to work with them and when we ate them they were still crisp and delicious (not soggy & messy like other places bagels can get). Seriously though, really good bagels. Perfect size too (didnt fill up on all bread). PS: the ice coffee here is really good. Definitely going back! The cashier was super friendly too. A+

2018-08-15Definitely got to try the bagels from this joint. Theres a wide selection of bagels and spreads. I had the onion bagel with plain cream cheese, with a mango banana smoothie! The menu seemed far to see and is dim which made it more difficult.

2021-11-19Came during the first lockdown since I live around the corner. I was excited to try a new bagel place. They have a huge window where you can see the bagels being made, so I watched......in horror as the cook alternated between eating a bagel, licking his fingers, and handling the dough without washing/gloves. Nothing could make me walk in again.

2021-10-10We ordered bagels and the bacon egg and cheese on a bagel. You can tell the bagels were made fresh this morning. They tasted exceptional! Would definitely order from them again.

2018-10-05Not all that impressed with either the service or the product. It is a beautiful store and they have a decent menu.Unfortunately in the two times Ive visited employees were arguing and customer service was absent. Hopefully its just kinks that they will work out after being opened a bit longer.
