Bagels & Co in other cities:
The place is very very busy and seems to have a constant flow of people (we went at 2 on a Friday. We got 4 bagel sandwiches. 2 sesame bagels - one with cream cheese, one with whitefish salad, 2ultihraom bagels, one with cream cheese and lox, tomato, capers, and one with lox, eggs, cheese, tomato, lettuce and onions. Food was very good all around and quickly prepared. Fresh ingredients. The one issue I saw is that these guys are moving so fast they dont always take care. My sandwich disintegrated as he put it In the bag, but he just forced it down anyway. I had to reassemble some when I got it home.Overall very good, but rushed, and the English comprehension wasnt great.
Now this is a bagel shop!!! As soon I walked in I got overwhelmed by....the huge selection and I felt in food paradise.... Lol.. I ended up with a plain bagel with cream cheese & Salmon... My favourite and it is gooooood... Service was meh!! Maybe was my fault they must be use to New Yorkers who get in know what they want and walk out... I just needed 5 min to figure what I wanted from the simple idea of a European bakery I had...
Delicious bagels. I’m a bagel girl. A bagel connoisseur of sorts. Had been searching for a good bagel on the UWS with not much luck until I found this place. I have never been in person, But when ordering delivery, I recommend calling and ordering directly from the store. (You never know with uber eats), but when I ordered directly from bagels and co., my egg & cheese + orange juice arrived fresh and hot to my door in 12 min. Also love that they have mini bagels as an option. And their lox is superb.
Convenient spot to grab a bagel in the Upper West Side. This place is more of a grab and go but they have a few seats inside. A variety of selection on their menu, something for everyone. Easy to customize. They have all kinds of bagel. A good spot to grab an easy breakfast. Service was quick and friendly. The nova special was a popular choice, filled with salmon lox, tomatoes and cream cheese. Very filling and simple.
I ordered a toasted cinnamon bagel with jelly and lightly butter. I received a toasted plain bagel soaked in butter. A $3 bagel costed me $9.31 before tip. When paying for something I dont expect mistakes especially when theres an easy process. This is the 2nd time!!! I will not be ordering from this place nor will I suggest this place to anyone. Perfered my money back.
NEVER AGAIN. Order was 50 minutes late, overcharged me on each order, bagel was super hard, wrong coffee order, and yet still charged me more than the real price. I called to let them know and no apologies. A customer has to call to let them know what the real price is? When confronted, they didnt say a thing, because they know what they did and will do it again. What do you earn from cheating on customers except bad reviews and losing regular customers? NEVER AGAIN.
Kind of annoying start to our Sunday because of this place. Cashier charged us $103 instead of $10.30 and only refunded most of it (shorted us by like $0.10 😂) when we pointed it out. And then once we got home we realized they gave us the wrong spread on one of the bagels!I’ve been here again a few times since this time and it’s been better. Some more minor order mess ups, but seems pretty normal for an NYC bagel place. The staff are efficient and the selection of bagels and spreads are good - just wish they had more sandwich options, but I guess that’s limited without ham or bacon.Overall, it’s not my favorite bagel place and I still can’t quite understand why it’s so popular. I prefer go to the Zabar’s bakery counter or Bagel Talk across the street.
I would give zero ⭐️, I’ve never had a problem with my food or coffee. What I experienced this week was unacceptable, I placed my order for 2 croissants the guy put one glove, he picked up my croissants with both hands... I ought it to his attention and was very rude about it. Further more what I’ve noticed is that the employees don’t change their gloves often at all. Be on the look out people.
Excellent service, good food. Walked in with the kids after spending a day in the museum of natural history (its just a couple blocks away) and had a good experience. We ordered a cheese pizza, a Caesar salad, spicy fries and mozzarella sticks, all was quite good. The kids seem to think that the sister store on the East Side cooks a little better, and this one only had one kind of soup - lentil.I thought the service was polite and quick (especially useful with hungry kids) and the food was very good as well.
Stale bagels delivered. Nothing else needed to say. But since you might also want to know: I mistakenly called them to tell them that my cream cheese wasn’t delivered. He was rude and when I realized I was wrong and apologized for the mistake, he hung up without saying another word
This has been my go-to bagel spot for years. The workers are friendly and the bagels are good. Ive found a few hairs in my creame cheese over that time and brushed it off and moved on with my life. But I just got a bagel that was basically sprinkled with pubic, wiry hair. I think its time to finally find another bagel spot.
The place is alright not bad at all!I got a bagel with everything and garlic scallion cream cheese. My god did they lay it thick. It was delicious toasted and I even got another on the way out. The garlic was so prominently on top, DELICIOUS! Would highly recommend against other bagel spots nearby 😉.
Great hand-rolled bagels for $1.25. Service is less great. They werent bad, just not exceptional and they forgot an item at first and charged me an extra dollar than I calculated, but I am not worried about it as their toppings do say per slice or per scoop and they definitely gave me more than one slice of cheese or tomato (and more slices of each than the mystery $1 would cover if that makes any sense). Seating is minimal and a bit tight. This is definitely a no-frills bagel place meant to be enjoyed solely for their bagels. I did get a couple to-go for the next day and they held up reasonably well.
Fast. Friendly. Ok prices depending on what you get. Great cream cheese. Decent bagels. Fresh squeezed orange juice (sold by weight ~$4-6 depending on how much juice you want) no public restroom. They accept credit cards. Ok amount of seating.Someone else accidentally touched my bagel for one second thinking it was theirs and they offered to make me an entire new one for it even though they didnt even open up the wrapper. (I said no thank you, its fine because I was running a bit late already but the jesture was appreciated)
I had a lox everything bagel and wow, It was everything I hoped for! The bagel was fresh and soft. The cream cheese was light and airy. The lox melted in my mouth. Also, I’ve heard some places in the neighborhood will refuse to toast their bagels, that’s nonsense! Bagels & Co will toast your bagel and warm your heart!
There were lots of bagel options and there were lots of spreads. Their cream cheeses were great. I had the spicy jalapeno cream cheese and it was one of the best spreads I have ever had.The line was not too long but the space inside was crowded and hot. Prices are pretty high for what youre getting, but definitely a nice treat!
I never ever write reviews but for some reason this business compelled me to do so. They’re customer service is atrocious, ordering an egg sandwich there was more of an argument then a simple back and forth. I live right around the corner and each and every time i’ve gone, I always feel like they’re not happy to see me walk through the door. Food is good but I’m not going anymore for that sole reason.
The bagels are good when fresh but the customer service is lacking. They started by helping everyone behind me and then tried to convince me not to toast my bagel. Next they accused me of jumping in line. They tried to cause a scene by accusing me of jumping in line to pay. Overall very unorganized and not very pleasant.
They have the best bagels Ive ever had the egg bagel is fluffy and moist much like cake, super fresh. The line was short but as we ate went out the door. People in the back had their food within a few minutes so dont let the line intimidate you. The only complaint I have is the man who took care of us couldnt get us out fast enough, I asked for my egg bagel with butter on the side, and before I know it hes shouting come on come on waving his hands at me to pay. The half second for me to pull my wallet out was too much for him but over all it is a MUST TRY. We walked blocks for this twice new years day and Im hopping on a train to get more today.( I live on LI) Im not joking Im taking an hour train ride for these bagels now.
The bagels were rock hard. We stopped by to pick up a dozen bagels trying to support local venues that are still open during this time. You’d think they’d have the courtesy to let us know they only had hard and stale food left, which they should have tossed or replaced. We got home only to discover we paid for a bag of rocks. If I had the time I would go back to speak to a manager. Instead, our money will go in the trash with the bagel rocks. Never again.
Maybe the best bagels in NYC? The case clan definitely be made for Bagles & Co. Old school, classic, big soft on the inside, with a great outer coating. Toast only if you must, these babies are fresh and ready to go. Every type of cream cheese and tofu options. Delicious smoked fish toppings available. They also have a great pizza oven with kosher style pizza toppings (no meat).
I ordered catering from them 2 weeks in a row. Everything was perfectly made, tasted good and the presentation was excellent. Their employees are polite and helpful and followed our instructions. The food was fresh. the lox was sliced better than anywhere I have ever purchased from. I will use them many times again and I strongly recommend them.
My son and I went here every day for breakfast when visiting NYC last week. The service was friendly we had fun every morning placing our orders the team were patient when we took ages looking at the huge menu deciding what to have on our bagels. Coffee was the best I had whilst in NYC.Thanks guys for making our NYC breakfasts great. We miss our favourite strawberry cheese bagels with eggs on the side.Mazel tov
I went to Bagel & Co looking to get a bagel with scallion and bacon cream cheese which they didnt have and I was too shy to ask for regular scallion cream cheese with bacon on top so I just ordered lox spread on a whole wheat everything bagel. As a bagel connoisseur, I often thoroughly study each bagel I davour and I rate the one I had at Bagel & Co a 10 out of 10.
Its a nice place. A good variety of offerings and a comfortable place for a morning bagel and coffee. Ive come to this part of NYC every seven years or so and have seen a number of places like this that used to be a primarily traditional cafe, have to make menu changes to stay competitive amidst constantly rising real estate values. I mean, does EVERY place have to sell pizza by the slice? The traditional Jewish deli fare is still there though. Thats good.
Bagels & Co. is one of my favorite neighborhood bagel places. They dont make it easy. On one recent trip, they would only accept cash (cant tell if they ever accept cards or not; but apparently you can order on Seamless or Grubhub). Theyre not open on Saturdays, but if you find yourself craving a bagel on a Sunday in the Upper West Side, with cash in your pocket, this is a good option.
Im new to the whole bagel thing so I cant say much about how the bagels here compare with other places. All I can say is I tried the Nova Scotia smoked salmon bagel and it was delicious and very fresh tasting. At just under $10 it was a little expensive but still worth it.
We were on our way to church and we needed a quick breakfast. This place had a line out the door, which wasnt hard to do. But it went really quickly, so dont be discouraged. Bagel sandwich was to die for. You could see them baking bagels fresh in the back. We will definitely be back!
Bagels themselves aren’t bad. But kind of overpriced, and it’s very unorganized when it gets busy. Ordered a very standard egg and cheese and they forgot to put in the cheese!!! Also I found out had my initial order had been grabbed by someone else when I checked in to see what was taking so long :(
I used to get delivery from this place as I am a fan of their egg salad. Unfortunately I’m done with them. They messed up my delivery order. When I called - they said if we didn’t return all the items - they couldn’t process the return. Unfortunately my kids already started eating the half of the order they got right and so they gave me an attitude (thinking I was trying to scam them out of 2 plain bagels) and told me they were too busy. So I’m done with them for a while.
The bagels are good, but the guy at the cashier is incredible rude. The place is not cheap, they’ll charge big bucks for every single addition to your sandwich, that you wouldn’t expect for such a run down store, I’ve never seen anyone cleaning the couple of tables and the floor is always dirty. The roof seems it’s going to fell in my head, it’s in very bad shape.
Food is fine but there are other places with the same or better food nearby that wont be so busy and will probably get your order right. The ordering is all verbal and requires repeating yourself, frequently, that then leads to errors. If you want an okay bagel that was made different than what you asked for, definitely go here.
When I walked in to checkin the lobby was full of people. While on line I over heard complaints of other guests saying theyve been waiting forever to check in and that they had to wait several hours. After about a 25 minute wait to check in we had to wait another 15 minutes for the elevator. There was a wedding party at the hotel and it was all the hotel staff seemed to care about as they allowed the wedding guests to get on the elevators before my boyfriend and I who were clearly waiting first. At the restaurant, which charges $30 for a cheeseburger, our waitress was very inattentive- service was terrible. We ordered two slices of cheesecake to go at $9 each and when we got back to our room we laughed at the slices which looked like a small butchered square size piece of cheese cake that fell on the floor before it they plopped it into a to go container. This morning at 8:30am I tried to order room service for a pot of coffee and the man essentially talked me out of it saying it would be an hour wait because there were many orders before me. This hotel is pretty but not well run at all. And the most expensive rooms Ive ever paid for to boot. Disappointed. 😐
Food was good, moderately priced, but the manager was berating one of his employees for literally 20 minutes behind the counter which I found highly inappropriate. I dont know what she did to get into trouble but no one deserves to be treated like that in front of customers.
I’ve had A LOT of bagels all over the world... but these are the freshest and best I’ve sunk my nashers into! Even my wife who’s the pickiest of eaters LOVES this place!!! Fresh orange juice to wash it down is an additional treat! Great value for money... would eat here more days a week if it was closer!!!
I have no clue why this place has a 4.4 star review. I feel like i wasted ALLLL of my money and got nothing at all. I paid almost $10 for a lox and cream cheese on a bagel. First of all the bagel was terrible and flavorless and the texture was like biting into cardboard. THEN they were extremely CHEEEEAAAAAPPPPPPP!!!! withLox the cream cheese and lox. Thanks for nothingnothing bagels & co. NOTNOT
Ordered catering from them for today. Our lunch delivery was 30 mins late AND it was missing one of the dishes. As far as the missing item, I confirmed our menu via email and it was read back to me over the phone correctly before I gave them payment. The reason I was given for late delivery was something must have happened on the train. The deli is 15 minutes away by train from the delivery location. So there must have been an hour delay on the (1) train today. I say an hour because I assume they would leave a minimum of 30 minutes before the delivery was supposed to be made in order to avoid being late. It seems more logical that the delivery guy just left really late. I have no comments about the food as I am not there to taste it, but I certainly wont be using them again to cater any business meetings as their service isnt reliable.
Good place to start the day with a fresh bagel. But they can do little better with the coffee. I know it is a bagel place, and about the bagels I have no complains, they are always fresh and always delicious. Also for their location, the prices here are fair, so whenever I have a very early start in NYC, I stop at Bagel’s talk for a quick bite.
Solid bagels and do all day breakfast. Coffee is okay but not standout. If before 11:30am Id say check out Lenwich around the corner where I prefer the breakfast and coffee. Bagel talk has a great selection of cream cheeses.Opens really early so this is my go to when Im leaving the city early a.m. and need some food To go!
Worst customer service. Ordered from seamless, over two hours and the order never showed. The restaurant was rude and unresponsive and judging by the other comments this seems to be consistent. Better luck walking to your neighborhood place and grabbing something to eat. So unrealiable.
Dunno what to say really, it was just awful. Terrible service, they kept mistaking our order even though we just ordered off the menu. We eventually got what was supposed to be a $5.95 Vegi Bagel as just a stale bagel with cream cheese. They charged us $3.50 for what was supposed to be a $2 bottle of water. Really theres nothing redeeming about the place, just dont go there. Simple as that.

2021-12-20The bagels are great! They are exactly what I needed! The cream cheese was on point. Pretty big variety of cream cheeses, sweet and savory. The lox was very good. This sliced, but a good amount. The coffee was good, nothing special. The staff is pretty basic, getting you in and out. But you can sit and eat, and it is definitely a good bagel. I would recommend it.

2021-07-21Im Jewish. I like a good bagel. The everything bagel I ate my tuna salad on was delicious and toasted to perfection. My heart feels heavy to knock off a star because my donut, although still tasty, was pretty stale and also had an eyelash on it. Or maybe it was an eyebrow hair?Solid joint though, would recommend

2021-11-12Had this on my plan to get NY Bagel. Fantastic taste, sandwich was worth the wait. I could use less attitude from counter staff. Will go back.

2019-06-04Really good bagels!!!...🍳: bagels were great. We went for breakfast and I was hoping for an egg cheese and bacon sandwich, I’m not Jewish so I made the mistake of thinking everyone loves 🐷.They do have a much bigger variety of food than some other shops.👩🏼🍳: service was pretty good. Not exceptional.Overall: Id come back in a pinch but would try somewhere else before returning.

2019-11-02Great spot. They do not like to toast the bagels usually. Although if you stop by mid to late morning they don’t seem to mind as the bagels are not as hot as they are in the AM.Staff moves quick so place your order, get to the front to pay, and then wait for your food to be ready. Bagels are great and very fresh.Quick easy and tasty breakfast or lunch!

2021-04-26Meh. Huge doughy bagel and bialy. What happened to normal sized bagels and bialys? Smaller ones crisp nicely in a toaster. These won’t fit in a normal toaster.

2022-05-12I was asking for toasted bagel and the guy who works there told me he can’t toasted anything because they were about to close (it was 5.30pm, closing time is 6pm)
