The food is incredible, the service not so much. Our server seemed pretty moody and unwelcoming. Towards the end of our meal, she was cleaning up other tables and slapping the glass cups together to try to get us out. Not sure we’d go back but maybe order takeaway next time…
We celebrated Mother’s Day at Baker & Co and I couldn’t have chosen a better place for brunch. In the heart of the West Village on Bleeker, this little gem is not to be missed. I ordered one of their specials, a lobster eggs benedict, and OMG this was spectacular. Everyone in my family loved what they ordered! The staff is super friendly and very pleasant. Super recommend this place - and make a reservation because it is a small place, so you don’t want to miss out on it.
Absolutely phenomenal food in the best area of Manhattan! This was my 2nd time going to Baker & Co and it certainly did not disappoint. The daily special was a watermelon salad with blue cheese and tomatoes - which is so delicious and refreshing! We all had the Black Truffle Ravioli and it was SO GOOD (insert *chef kiss*) 👌The spot had such a great vibe too!
Had a nice, quiet brunch at this place (never mind a couple of passersby who were talking too loudly on their phones 🤦🏻♀️). Ordered two eggs and a side of bacon - generous portions for a side (4 thick slices) but a bit too salty for me. Outdoor heating good. Quaint table setting. Very professional staff. Overall, a good experience. Would go back.
A cute and cozy little spot. They have a nice little patio in the back and that’s where we sat. The seats were separated by clear dividers. The service was attentive and food was delicious! I got the Eggs Benedict smoked salmon plater and it was deliciously filling. It comes with a Parmesan potato gratin which was very savory, something different from the usual breakfast potatoes. The smoked salmon wasn’t overly salty.
Cute & cozy atmosphere. They have an enclosed patio in the back with charming ceiling lights which beats sitting outside in the cold during these covid times. Good and fast service! Started with two espresso martinis..SO good you’ll drink the entire foam too. The octopus appetizer is super tender and the hazlenut romesco was something I’ve never had before and it just worked with the dish. The oxtail pasta with pomegranate seeds was so good! The meat was so soft and full of flavor. Seeds were an interesting touch but didn’t think it added anything to the flavor of the dish. Lamb tenderloin appetizer was not featured as it was too good to wait to snap a pic. Cooked perfectly medium rare and no weird lamb smell or taste.
Where to start? Everything was perfect. From the kind and helpful staff, to the food. The thick cut bacon was cooked very well and the macaroni and cheese was toothsome. Perfect crisp on the fries, meat cooked carefully to our preference... Lovely atmosphere worthy of a Michelin restaurant with delicious food.
Very good experience under the circumstances... Staff was nice and respecting social distancing. Serverwas absolutely lovely and the food was amazing. Their Prosecco was also pretty good. The desserts were really tasty and fresh (tiramisu and Liquid dessert... Absolutely perfect). Patio is small but cute and it felt safe over there with the partitions...
This place has always been just fantastic. The food and atmosphere are beautiful, the wait staff is amazing and management is just outstanding! They have outdoor and a back patio which is covered and Covid safe with amazing social distance practices put into full effect! I recommend their amazing steak or burger on the menu as it is one of my personal favorites with just the right amount of seasoning and cooked to perfection you won’t go wrong!
I never heard about this restaurant nor had any recommendations, it was last minute frantic search and booking on Open Table app. So I was a bit nervous. But thus place didnt make me embarrassed in front of my friends as everything: ambiance, service and food were top notch! Well, the service, was a bit long, but that due to the fact that this place was busy. If you end up there you should try their burrata ravioli in truffle sauce and their panacotta and mascapone Gelato!
Has a bright garden/patio area that makes this a good brunch spot. No liquor license so only beer/wine options.Good portion sizes, side of bacon was thick cut and a good option to share.Frittata, eggs Benedict were massive, and the small pizza was another good option to share.Don’t overlook this spot.
Great place for brunch! A big variety of eggs Benedict, and an amazing hamburger. Staff is very friendly and polite. It usually get busy after noon, if you want a comfortable spot arrive earlier or make a reservation. By the way, this is one of the few places that accept reservations for brunch!
Awful eggs Benedict with prosciutto. Tasted like cardboard heated up in the microwave. Really bad service. Packed on a Sunday and just overall not worth it. Coffee was bad. Just overall a horrible experience. This is the second time I go and its just so bad each time. I really dont understand its poularity.
I had the gluten free pasta, which was spaghetti and croquettes. The pasta was nice and definitely tasted good. The normal pasta they serve might have tasted better and Ive had better gluten free pastas Im other places. The desserts were quite good as well. The tiramisu was very good and the chocolate bonet was quite dark. The latter might be better off with the dark chocolate toned down and maybe a little less dense.
I really liked this place. Me and my friend went there for brunch on a Saturday around 12:00. You definitely need to have a reservation, because the placed gets filled fast, as any other good brunch location on the weekend. I got the Eggs Benedict with Salomon - it was really good. It doesnt look like much, but its very filling. The table on our left took French Toast with Nutella filling (pretty sure thats how its called) and I had to snap it, because it was mouth watering. We sat in the outside area, inside the restaurant, and it was really cute. Also, the coffee is really really good! Ill be back for sure, I gotta try that Nutella thing.
Stumbled upon this place while walking around and got some dinner here. We sat at their patio and it was really nice and cute. The food itself is very good, had some pasta and croquettes. The croquettes were excellent and the pasta was cooked very well! For dessert we got the chocolate and hazelnut bonet and the tiramisu which did not disappoint! Come here to have some good food and enjoy the patio!
Walked into this place for brunch on saturday as was in NYC... great place to grab brunch with friends, family or just the two of you...the place was crowded but you can tell by the taste that it had to be...the Spring frittata was worth waiting for & went great with their Peach Bellini Prosecco... Will definitely recommend it if you are in city.... or in Bleecker street area
When I say the food was delish... I mean it! I shared a bite with 2 of coworkers because I wouldnt dare give any more lol..and we all fell in love..I had the lasagna and it was melt in your mouth fantastic, and the vibe is just super quaint and sexy. Its a must visit.. Oh and they have Happy Hour!
I used to be a fan of this place, however I will never go again. Its over priced pasta. Tonight I went, the fork in my roll up was dirty, had bits of food stuck to it. I had to go ask for a new one. Bread came late (I had to ask for that too- and it didnt come till after our food was served ). I had to fight with the staff to honor a gift card from before the pandemic. They simply refused to honor a gift card from 2019. Gift cards are not supposed to expire for 5 years. And either way, law or not, its very cheap not to honor them. There are better, warmer places to go in the neighborhood.
The ambiance is very nice. The watermelon salad was delicious. My friend’s pasta was great. My black sea bass was pretty good. The waitress rushed us a bit - post COVID the restaurant wishes to capitalize on all the people wishing to dine out. The one comment I have is that a restaurant as large as this one, serving so many people, should have more than one bathroom. The lines were long.
Had a most delicious brunch here! The food was incredible and the inside was well spaced out with plastic barriers in COVID times. Unfortunately we were rushed a bit by the host because they were very booked up, but he was polite about it and the eggs Benedict with prosciutto had me deliriously happy as we walked out. Definitely a great brunch spot!
Had brunch here on Saturday - the lobster Benedict was tiny tiny pieces of lobster that were not even identifiable (whereas places like Claudette put a full claw so you can at least know). Additionally, the potato side is HORRIBLE everyone at the table thought it was inedible
Great food, good portions, good value, but service was sub-par for our Labor Day Brunch. I think they may have been short staffed, but it took too long for them to come take our order and our food took too long to come out (our benedicts had clearly been sitting for a few mins before being delivered), and nobody bothered to see if we wanted a second round of drinks, and we had to ask three times to get a fourth table setting. Also, if youre going to auto-add a 20% gratuity to a bill for four people, just jack up your prices and become a no-tipping establishment, like Danny Meyers restaurant.
Place was understaffed for Sunday brunch, so service was slow. But those who were present were extremely hardworking and were needlessly apologetic for the slow kitchen. As such, we stayed longer than normal for brunch with toddlers, but it was pleasant throughout. Of note for parties with kids, the space is tight, and so it doesnt naturally lend well to strollers and such, but staff tried their best to make us feel comfortable. The food is good and reasonably priced for the location. Will be back.
I have been there twice: the first time I made a reservation and the host goes “everyone here has a reservation and you still have to wait for 45 mins” and second time, it was really hot and the host didn’t even ask whether we wanted indoor or outdoor seats and directed us to outdoor seating under the sun. We had to request to be indoor, where there were plenty of seats open. I genuinely don’t think this place is worthy the review and hype.
Just had great happy hour drinks here ($6 glasses of wine from 5-7). The restaurant is so beautiful and cozy, the staff were lovely and attentive, and it was great to sit down here for a drink. They offered free olives for snacks during happy hour at the bar (a major highlight for me!)
Delicious pasta. Yummy bar snacks (those olives were delicious). My friend loved his burger. The habanero cocktail was not my style, was hoping for spice but got none, but it was still nice. The atmosphere is cozy cute and romantic. Back patio is enclosed and really nice in the rain. Staff was polite and fun.
Great food with good sized portions and reasonably priced. Cozy atmosphere. Garden area out back of the restaurant is nice and air conditioned. Happy hour at the bar until 630 pm includes complimentary bar snacks (cheese, olives, flat bread). Service attentive without being intrusive.
Really expensive food and wine and the pasta was a big disappointment. The swordfish was from can and tasted like cheap tuna. Also no taste in my huspands pasta. Cannot recommend. It is easier to make better pasta at home. The service was quite friendly so that was the best part and the atmosphere were also nice.
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a very long time. My girlfriend and I walked by and liked the look of the place and decided to try it out on a whim.We received, fast and friendly service, exceptional food, delicious drinks, and a warm, fun, welcoming atmosphere. It’s not cheap, but it’s also extremely reasonable considering the remarkably high quality of the entire experience, especially the food. I fed myself and my girlfriend a steak and a pasta respectively, got two fantastic sangrias, and a dessert all for about $100 before tip. All of it was seriously spectacular. I’ve paid $30 for steak before and been disappointed, but I would have happily paid up to $50 for the one I got here and felt I got my money’s worth. Plus they accommodate those with gluten intolerances without sacrificing flavor. My compliments to the chef and bartender who worked on the night of Monday, June 10th.Cannot recommend it enough.
Great food at great prices without the attitude of 2 Michelin stars. However there is a catch. Service quality is well below what you would expect from a restaurant with decent quality food. The waitress asks you to hand her your water glass, she comes with the drinks and hands you the glass expecting you to get it off her hands, the remaining crew is a bit rough when arranging plates on the table as well. Otherwise you cant eat this food at this price anywhere else in this city. OK I am exaggerating a bit perhaps.
Service was fine, drinks were okay, selection was small but seemingly decent quality. The real problem with this place was the food. Wife got the pork chop, I got the steak. The pork chop could have clocked in at about 97 pounds, the steak tasted like an entire salt mine was poured over it, and the sides that were offered with both were terribly underwhelming and paired poorly. What’s worse, all of this disappointing food cost an arm and a leg and didn’t make us any happier than a couple cheap slices of pizza would have.
Baker & Co came highly regarded from a friend who invited me out to dinner with her a few year ago. Therefore, I had a high expectation for this restaurant, and I am glad to report that this restaurant exceeded my expectation. Since then, I have returned several times and have recommended it to friends and family, who have all liked it just as much as I do.The food at Baker & Co is absolutely delicious and the portions are generous as well as reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is warm and quaint.Every experience I have had in this restaurant has been positive. Having come probably 10 times now, I have tried several appetizers, entrees and deserts. If I had to though recommended anything to someone coming here for the 1st time, I would recommend the following:1) Coquettes2) Lasagna, pork and veal ragu2) Crystal Valley Farm chicken4) Affogato Gelato
Great experience here, friendly service and beautiful atmosphere. We came for a late lunch on a weekday and it was not crowded. Had a hard time deciding what to order from the menu, I had the mac & cheese which was tasty but wished Id also ordered the rigatoni (someone else got it and the sauce was delicious). Good selection of craft beers, something for everyone.
Love Baker & Co. I went here a few times for happy hour, which is very nice. They have good options for beer and wine for great prices. Probably the best value happy hour I know of right now. You also get little snacks with the drinks.I also planned a birthday party in the back room for my girlfriend in December and all of the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. They let me make my own menus (I wanted to restrict the party from going hog wild with their orders). In fact they let me do everything I asked, and then helped. All of the food was delicious. Pastas, pizzettas, and other entrees were perfect. I will definitely be returning for happy hours and dinners.
Stumbled across this place on a Sunday afternoon and was probably one of the best finds of our stay in Manhattan. Great place, great service and great food at really decent prices. I went for the steak and eggs which was just delicious. We sat in the garden which while quite small was just perfect on a warm sunny afternoon. Would highly recommend.
Went for brunch on a Sunday in July. Very hot and noisy in the indoor seating area. Service was prompt and polite. Very nice space inside, very Villagey and with a lovely covered terrace out back.Prosciutto eggs Benedict was tasty, though I wouldve preferred the English muffins to be a bit crispier. Iced coffee was rocket fuel and tasted very bitter, not my preference. They dont have liquor here so its either beer or wine, which means staple brunch drinks like a Bloody Mary are made with beer. Not ideal.I might like to come back for dinner but was not blown away by my brunch experience.
We went to this restaurant and the restaurant characterized his review as “hysterical”, expressing empathy for the rest of our guests. In fact, we all shared the same assessment of your restaurant: The food was okay, but it’s too bad the service completely ruined the evening. We went around the corner for pizza and had a lovely rest of our evening. I would recommend all your potential patrons do the same....
Delicious thick cut bacon - great side to anything you order. The baked eggs and the lasagna are definitely worth trying. The frittatas are good but not great. Would recommend trying something else before those. The Nutella french toast is a great dish to share.Solid brunch place in a great location.
I wondered around the Greenwich Village area and just happened to pick this restaurant blindly. I was not disappointed. They have a terrific selection of craft beers and a wonderful brunch. I had some delicious eggs benedict and drank two or three of some of their better pilsner beers. Sit at the bar and you will not be disappointed. Great location and a great experience.
What is most striking is how a quiet, friendly and relaxing environment Baker & Co offers. I could have stayed for additional several hours.. We very happy with the food as well - burrata, lasagna and baked artichokes were all very well prepared. Looking forward coming back.
Cosy Italian spot with a great selection of pastas and unique wine. It’s great for date night or just casual drinks. I always look for a specific Italian wine (Etna Rosso) and it seldom ever appears on a wine list. B&C had two different bottles! The pastas were served piping hot and the service was great. I will absolutely come back again.
This establishment may look small but, as you walk into the back dinning section, theres several tables and even a seasonal garden seating in the rear. People are nice and good place to grab just drinks or have a full meal.Variety of pasta, salads (raosted beat salad & watermelon salad is delicious!!) are always a safe bet. Baked lasagna and cheese plates are my delicious too!
This place is really cute, they have outside seating but it was all reserved/taken for an early morning brunch on a Sunday. I sat near the outside window which was pretty nice until the jackhammer and noise from outside started happening. Food took a little long but I didnt mind and he ended up comping the orange juice, so that was nice. Also, their menu online & at the restaurant is a little different. They give complimentary bread with olive oil for brunch.. first time this has happened.Lobster Benedict Special ($19)- 4/5 If I see lobster Im probably going to get it, but this one came with greek yogurt which I thought was odd but everything ended up tasting pretty good! The greek yogurt was very mild and I barely tasted it. There was a decent amount of lobster although it was lukewarm but eggs were poached nicely. This came with potato gratin, which I think had bacon bits and I was not warned but thats okay, and also salad.Baked Eggs with cheese 4/5- Im not sure what the exact dish was called but it was pretty good. I think it had edamame in the cheese which was quite unique. This came with bread (the same as the complimentary one), which I wasnt crazy about.
Came for Sunday brunch and was very disappointed. I had a burger and side of bacon. I ordered the burger rare and when it came the patty was very thin and cooked well done. My girlfriend ordered the eggs benedict with crab which were not very good at all.Looking at the tables around us I could tell that this restaurant was simply trying to ride the wave of trendy village brunch spots. Despite the line, Baker & Co. does not make the cut and you will be better served finding another restaurant.
Pleasant experience overall. Nothing too spectacular.Portions are more American than Italian, but not diner sized.Started with the calamari which was excellent. For the main, I had the truffle pappardelle special which fell flat on its face. It was bland and lackluster, with an overpowering butter sauce. Very disappointing. The dessert course revived slightly with a glass of Elisir Novasalus amaro. The waiter had warned of the intensely bitter flavor, and he wasn’t wrong. It makes coffee seem like chocolate cake, but the complex profile is exceptionally unexpected and satisfying.Recommended overall, but order off the fixed menu and play to your tried and true preferences. You won’t be disappointed but you won’t be blown away either.
The charred beet salad with citrus is amazing. So fresh tasting. It could be dinner or a shared appetizer. Either way its delicious. I also had the rabbit Benedict. The rabbit was cooked to perfection, not gamey tasting at all. The potatoes on the side were seasoned just right I didnt even want to put ketchup on them.
5 stars for the food, 3 stars for the acoustics = 4 stars overall.Probably the best eggs benedict Ive ever had - the prosciutto and crab ones are to die for. However, the acoustics here are horrendous! Be prepared to scream to talk to the person next to you...Cant vouch for dinner.
Cute, cozy, and absolutely delicious brunch spot in West Village. Bonus is that you can make reservations, which many places in WV wont do. The crowd wasnt too bad for prime brunch time. But most importantly, the food - so good. Everyone in my group tried a version of eggs Benny and all went home happy.
While in NYC for a six day business trip I visited Baker & Co three times for dinner. The menu is short but excellent - the truffle ravioli is especially good. The service is friendly and relaxed. The setting is a combination of intimate and relaxed. If you are in the neighbourhood pay Baker & Co a visit.
Went in for Sunday brunch and was excited given the reviews. But left very disappointed. I ordered a coffee which tasted like dirty water - worse than any diner or maybe even gas station coffee Ive ever had. I got the eggs benedict with crab - the poached egg was overdone, the hollandaise dried out and the crab tasted no where near fresh. My boyfriend got the burger and asked for it rare - it was more like medium-well. Ultimately the place felt like it was trying to be a trendy west village brunch spot - the vibe and crowd made that apparent, but no food to back up the high ratings this place is getting. Save your money and cook your own breakfast, or basically go to any nearby restaurant to get a better meal.
Superb place! Friendly staff and delicious food. Walked in during happy hour with yummy finger food at the bar (parmezan, olives and italian bread) and housewines for 5$ per glass. Had an entree at the bar and a main dish at a table at the back. Very cosy, pleasant lighting and candles and relaxed atmosphere (not like some places where they seem to be on a clock to get you out in one hour and rush your food). Cheapest and most delicious dinner we had all week, taking into account we rately took an entree.
My idea of Heaven: to have a few hours to have a late lunch at Baker & Co. on Bleecker Street, to sip wine, eat their fantastic food, and contemplate the universe in all its preposterous pain and beautyThis lunch of celestial contemplation will involve the grilled Mediterranean branzino and a glass, or two, of the Baker’s draft white. I tend not to put my order in until the evening’s rendition of the branzino—cooked in parchment with a good and great deal of garlic and calimata olives, and sliced lemon—is on the menu (after 4 pm). But enough about my palate. The menu is bountiful. The watermelon salad is a cool summer treat, and the charred beet salad with horseradish yogurt is a delicious light meal. There are egg dishes, Panini, pizza. There is also pasta—a crab meat tagliatelle that will leave you wanting seconds, as well as a fine veal and pork Bolognese, and gluten free pasta is available on request. The cocktails are creative and well made, and the wine list is short but excellentThe cool wine glows within, as I contemplate the glory that is this meal. Baker & Co. is another gift to and from Greenwich Village. The food’s a treasure as is the kind and generous service. Gift yourself a gift and have a meal here.
This is a great place for brunch - friendly staff, good traditional brunch food, and great place for groups. The price is a bit expensive relative to what you get, but its no surprise given the area its in. I recommend the Bloody Mary (though its a bit on the spicy side). Overall, solid food.
Went to lunch with my daughter.Ordered ice tea. We were the only ones in there and after one glass they ran out of it.Ordered Tuna Crudo. In one word BLAND.Eggs Benedict with prosciutto. Eggs overcooked. We order this dish because we like runny eggs. The Grilled chicken Panini was ok but nothing exceptional.
I just had a really nice brunch here on a lazy July 4th. I had a baked eggs dish with smoked scamorza (cow milk cheese). My wife had an eggs benedict. There was also a nice (and probably very fresh) session IPA, the boat beer from Carton brewery on tap.I look forward to going here again.
Service was poor and restaurant was so warm that 3 of the 6 people started feeling ill and we had to leave. Follow up to restaurant comment- my shameful shenanigans was to ask if there was a fan. The restaurant’s response shows how they treated us once we asked for a fan. It looks like the restaurant deleted the response but here is what was originally written

2022-03-27First visit. Enjoyed a happy hour wine at the bar (they won’t let you take it to the table, we had three sips left, eyeroll).Small room with a small(ish) patio. We had a charming server and enjoyed the small pizza, the soup, lasagna and burger. Dessert menu was uninspiring so we skipped. Had a decent bottle of wine, reasonably priced.

2022-03-25Finally, a place that stops doing grilled octopus with chorizo! Their octopus pairing with mushroom and fava beans was absolutely delicious. I also love how the pasta dishes here have a modern touch yet still retain the homey feelings. They have a handsome patio that will be perfect for summer evenings.

2022-03-29Get a reservation for sure. They will only seat you once your whole party has arrived. The food was incredible. Their homemade sausage and frittata was excellent. Their mimosas were underwhelming, so I will skip that next time. Really enjoyed it though!

2022-08-19Really good place for brunch. They have all the classic brunch dishes but they add their nice touches that make them a bit better.

2021-09-29This place was perfect, every dish so delicious and reasonably priced. They had a nice happy hour from 4-7pm at the bar only and a cute outdoor seating area in the back. Had the octopus which was perfectly cooked, pear salad special and burrata ravioli sprinkled with fresh truffles and mushrooms (the best)

2022-07-28Ive been to several places in the area and this one definitely stands out. Each dish stands out and I cant wait to come back and try everything else. The pasta texture was perfectly al dente with a spicy and citrusy, rich butter taste. The fried artichokes, PHEW what texture. So chewy and charred! And the peach salad was so unique and delicious wow. The burrata was crazy in there

2022-06-11I had brunch here with a couple of good buddies today (June 11, 2022). By far one of the best brunches I have had.We all ordered Eggs Benedict, which was by itself a delicious dish. It’s Prosciutto Di Parma, Burrata, Toasted Muffin, Crushed Truffle, Hollandaise, Parmesan Potato Gratin And Greens. The side greens seemed to have been lightly marinated in mild vinegar, which was super refreshing. The place is located in a very nice part of the city, very cozy and inviting. We sat by the entrance and our table was directly by the large open windows. There were some mint plants that maintained our area scenting really nice. The Staff were great. We were seated as soon as we arrived and when another friend joined our party, we were accommodated as well. The server was very attentive, made sure we enjoyed our food and came over constantly to check on us.I would definitely come back here!

2022-02-21I’ve been in person before and the food was delicious but tonight I ordered the Mac and cheese for delivery (I had not tried this dish before but looked at pictures) and it was disappointing. The sauce was gritty and not cheesy and the presentation/portion was quite sad for the price. I paid $25 all in for tax and delivery, tip

2022-03-28First time here! So many places to choose from in Soho and I went for this one because it looks so cozy and yes it was cozy, service excellent! Happy hour and I got a white wine and 3 delicious bruschetta for $17.00 so you better visit this place. I bet their cuisine is really good because a lot of people came asking about a table for dinner. It was really nice and the bruschettas were really good, one avocado, one cheese and other one tomato. I really recommend this place.

2022-05-29Extremely recommended.French toast was the best one I have ever eaten. Also, egg benedict w/Salmon was nice.Reasonable prices, clean and pretty store
