Beautiful store with beautiful vignettes. The lady that works there has amazing customer service and is incredibly nice. The items sold are on trend, stylish and priced well. The store often has great sales and coupons. In addition, they can help you with interior design if you need it.

Unprofessional experience ordering an upholstered bench online. I ordered the piece in mid March and Im still waiting. Customer service offered zero value other than it takes 2 to 3 weeks for shipping. Um where in the world is this piece coming from that takes upwards of 3 weeks (and thats after charging me a hefty shipping fee). They cant answer that question. Non-existant tracking details. Poor customer service. They do not reply to emails and once you get them on the phone theyre of no assistance.

This company contracts out their deliveries and it’s an absolute nightmare. Our original coffee table arrived damaged, they exchanged it for another one but the service would not pick up the damaged table. After finally getting that sorted out (which took 2 weeks) we waited an entire Saturday for our banquette to be delivered and it never showed up. We tried to contact the delivery service multiple times to see what happened and they either don’t call back or shut off their phone. The furniture is ok, but absolutely NOT worth the headache of trying to get it delivered. We still don’t have the banquette.

Nice people that help with picking out things. However, that’s the only thing that’s good about this place. No one seems to be in charge or able to give any answers. Ordered a table and told it would be ready in 6 weeks. After 6 weeks kept getting different answers on why table was not ready yet. Over 8 weeks later, got my table however missing a large piece. Tried asking for a manager or someone in charge, yet no one seems to know anything. Definitely will not be going back.

Let me,first say,l love Ballard Design. I love their style,of everything. Ok,some,l can do,without, but,for the most part,love their. You may,ask,if,l love it so much,why,did l give it a three. The building, l live in,is very hard,to find. I purchased, two rugs,one,there company ,who they hire,J.B. Hunt,which,could not find,the building,without,my direction. Upon,finally getting the rug,inside, the apartment, l ask,the gentleman, was,he at least,going to take,the wrapping off,he rudely,said,no. He was not rude,when,it came,to get my signature, upon arrival😁.THE second rug,came by,UPS. I spoke,with the supervisor, l told her,since this driver,knows,the building, by now, why, cant they,deliver it. After,going back and forth,the supervisor, came up,with the brilliant idea, to see,if,J.B.Hunt, can deliver,the rug.🤔🤔🤔.I said,that she great,this rug,will not be available, until,two weeks, later. I cant get the rug,two weeks, later,because, l am having my bed delivered, before then. In all,fairness,the second attempt, the supervisor, did offer me,a two day,free delivery.I am a unhappy customer, with bad, negative review.

July 2018, in the mall, and preparing to move to the West Coast, where I was having a new house built, I ventured into the personally unknown Ballard Design store in NY to browse. I saw furniture I liked, and with 30% off, I purchased a dining room, serving, and two living room accent tables. They were to be shipped to my new house on 9/19/18 The six Dana dinning chairs were immediately available and would have gotten to the new house before I moved in, so I was told to order them closer to my move in August. I did. I closed and moved into my home in mid August. Practically each week, I received E-mails informing me of delivery changes to successive future dates. After three months, I eventually received the dining room and serving tables. The living room accent tables were further delayed to end of October. Upon inspecting the partial delivery, I found the table base badly bruised at the corners, and the furniture looked dirty and discolored. I looked at the female threads for mounting the table top to the base. They were all bruised. The table was obviously used. I immediately called Ballard, complained, and cancelled all orders, including another and 3rd order of a coffee table, I made the day before the partial delivery, when I called to inquire about the perpetually delayed original orders. The rep said I would have received a refund when the items were back in the warehouse. I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor said she could stop the chairs and most recent order and give an immediate refund, but had to wait for the used furniture to return to the warehouse for that refund. The chairs still came to my door two days later. I refused them, and UPS did not take them off the truck; yet, today I received an E-mail from Ballard, that the chairs were delivered. I called and suggested they look at the tracking #s to see where the chairs were. Ballard said that the tracking is now useless, and I had to wait for everything to reach their warehouse to receive the refund; Ballard has an ok store. The personnel seem friendly, but behind that front problems lurk. Something is woefully wrong, for me to receive used furniture, as new. There also seems no continuity between the warehouse, stores, and the customer service 800 number personnel. Needless to mention how protractedly bare that experience left my house. I went back to Ethan Allen and Lay Z Boy. UPDATE: 10/16. Just read Ballards response inviting me to contact them. How pathetic. Used furniture? No excuse for that! What the hell am I contacting them for; more nonsense? They should have changed their policies, trained staff, and supervised their personnel, so this ridiculous situation would never have occurred! UPDATE: 11/9/18. Despite the supervisors claim, that upon the junk furnitures return to the warehouse I would immediately be refunded, the junk was picked up on since 10/16, and after a call then, and four times following, to date - 11/9/18, still no refund. Imagine dealing with this for some 4 1/2 months and counting! I feel like Im working for or married to Ballard darn it! In contrast, I returned 4 Bar stools to Wayfair. They immediately refunded me, while I was on the phone arranging the return, and picked up the stools 2 weeks later. DONE! I forgot to mention that the rep at my last inquiry said she would send me $50 hoping it would make me try Ballard again. I laughed. She still sent it; but in true Ballard fashion, it was sent to my previous NY address. My move cost me 52K including the near 5k I spent at their store; so what would their measly $50 do for me; give me more headache?! Get thee hence Ballard; Everyone else, RUN!

This is my new go to place for any design needs! So glad they are in Garden City... store has beautiful displays for inspiration and knowledgeable staff that are completely helpful! I have always loved the catalog but store is even better!

Check out the furniture clearance section in the back. Its a way to get high end items at better prices. Lots of great design ideas by walking around the store. $$$$.
