If I could give zero stars… I would. My Australian Shepard, Jackson, went into the Banfield located in Latham, NY for a TEETH CLEANING and left with a shaved/botched leg. The last time he received a teeth cleaning from this place, they did NOT use anesthesia, NOR did they shave his leg!! They failed to ask if it was okay to SHAVE AND CUT HIS HAIR. They also failed to tell me when I arrived that they shaved his leg and cut his back hairs. As you can imagine we were surprised when we took the bandage off at home. My spouse and I thought to each other… Why such a large patch of hair gone for such a small IV needle? As he is an Australian shepherd, one of the many things we love about Jackson’s breed is THEIR LONG HAIRS. There was absolutely no need for the vet tech or whoever prepped Jackson, to cut off the hairs on the back of his leg when the IV was placed IN THE FRONT of his leg (Refer to attached photos). Lastly, the girl who discharged Jackson, spoke faster than an auctioneer so the post treatment instructions and what to expect as a side effect of the anesthesia was extremely unclear. I never EVER post any reviews when I have a bad experience because I work in customer service and know errors are made, but when it comes to my fur babies, I have no control. I am very upset and will be cancelling my Banfield Pet Insurance and I will be posting this review on all social medias. This may seem small to others and I understand that hair grows back, but there was absolutely no communication and when there was it was extremely vague and rushed. The last pic posted is what his leg normally looks like.

Staff is very polite and respectful. The place is clean to the tea. The wait time is arent too long, Services are affordable. They treat my dog nova good nd gentle 💕 Thank you Banfield

I just want to personally thank Casey for her kindness during the MOST difficult time of my life. Our beloved girl, Penny, came down with an illness out of no where. Fast forward a few weeks and our family could see how horrible her quality of life had become and couldn’t bare to put her through anymore. Casey even came in to give condolences the morning we were saying “see you later” to our sweet girl and was kind enough to bring her blanket respectively folded back out to us (we had her blanket on her and couldn’t bare the last image we had of her like that). She was also super kind with any information I had asked, when calling to let us know our girl was ready to be brought home and when I went in this morning to pick her up. I wish all people were as sincere. She made a horrific couple weeks a bit easier with kindness. I also had a great experience with Kirsten (Or it may have possibly been Kristen-my apologies). She too was kind enough to come in that morning and sit with Penny and pet her and tell her what a great girl she is. She was the tech she had seen the past two visits and was extremely attentive and generous as well. She was so patient and gentle with my sweet girl. I cannot thank them enough even if I am experiencing a magnitude of heartache.

They took my cat in very quickly even not being a regular patient. The staff and Dr. were very friendly and were very thorough on the diagnosis and how to treat. I will bring my pets there from now on. And not to mention when I paid for the bill I paid in cash and bills were sticking together. I received a call that night from a staff member telling me I had over paid by $50. Thank you for the honesty. That is hard to come by. Thank you, Banfield.

I’ve been so nervous to try BF after reading so many mixed reviews across the country. But many convinced to go to the Latham one and just give it a shot. My doggo can be picky with vets, and was just too scared of her old one it was becoming impossible to take her. She immediately did a 180 and LOVED the vet/ tech, was confused bc she was having a ball even when the needles came out! She was seen right away, explained everything in detail, they knew exactly how to not scare her if she wasn’t responding well to a check, nothing was pushed on me for more costs like I have in the past at vets- only the needed things. thanks a great first visit and experience :)

Great experience, they treated my fur baby so nice and made her very comfortable. The people that work there are very knowledgeable and make sure you understand what is going on before they treat your dog. 5 stars across-the-board for this place.

Love the veterinarians and tech people here. They are very kind to my cat. He responds well to them because they are gentle and efficient with the treatments he receives. I have their wellness plan. You pay one price every month and visits and preventative care are free. I would recommend it. You save tons and get premium care to keep your pet healthy.Dr. Huckel is one my favorite vets...very compassionate when my last pet passed away. She was honest and sincere about this sensitive subject. She is exceptional.I was very impressed with the whole staff then as I am now.

They are wonderful here. My Molly was feeling well. They got her in asap. Had a great experience and my Molly was very well taken care of. The girls at the front counter are very sweet. And the Vets are phenomenal. Will be continuing my mollies care there from now on.

NOT an actual pet hospital. Basically the equivalent of a primary care doc and some urgent care combined. On a vet level, they are excellent. That being said- their wellness plan is mainly preventative. You will and should have additional pet insurance because in an actual emergency, the place you are referred to (Basically an animal ER) isnt on the same plan that they offer.They are kind. They are knowledgeable. Even if you just call with questions- they address them. Its worth it for the regular services- checkups and vaccinations. They would absolutely get 5 stars from me IF they offered pet insurance that includes emergency coverage AND if they had an after hours on-call vet or vet assistance. (they would also get a higher rating if they included groomer services- as it stands the groomer is NOT affiliated and has too high of a turnover to build a rapport with your pet)The only other issue Ive ever had is that you have to request an in person appointment. Otherwise you simply drop off your pet and wait. It could be 45 mins or it could be 7 hours which could be difficult if you have kids, work, transportation issues etc...So, as a vet with the wellness plan an in person scheduled appointments its a very good place. If your beloved pet gets injured or sick - you should have additional options and coverage such as Trupanion, Nationwide, etc...If you dont have the wellness plan- regular services can be a little pricey but, isnt too bad compared to other vets in the area. By far one of the kinder and more affordable. You can tell that the staff genuinely enjoy helping animals and their owners. Its a business and a job but, they carry themselves with pride and empathy towards their patients.

The staff are wonderful, soft spoken and gentle. We have just started our relationship with the clinic so I will write more later. I will say this..if there is an issue the owner will address it right away. I was very impressed with my first visit so Im giving them 5 stars
