Coffee is so good, currently on my second cappuccino... Nice shady outdoor area with plenty of seating and a cozy room inside with plenty of space to work or sit and chat. Oh, and free WiFi where you dont have to bother anyone for the password! Definitely coming back!
LOVED THE HOT CHOCOLATEand personally had no issuesHOWEVER.Walked in on Sunday Jan 23 in the late afternoon. What bothered me and I feel is an important to mention is how to treat people during this pandemic.A woman walked in without a mask, while it is understood for most that this is a law we can all relate to a broken mask or forgetting etc. Not wearing a mask doesnt warrant someone not only refusing service but being completely disrespectful doing it.If you believe refusing service is good business... just a suggestion it would make sense to have a stack of masks behind your register especially for someone whose mask may have broken in your shop, with people pulling masks on/ off drinking coffee. The woman said she just came into town from Florida and didnt realize, rather than offering any level of accommodation, possibly taking her order outside or being kind she was met with hostility.I was scrambling to find a spare but I didnt have one.It was hard to watch 2 double masked girls completely dismiss this woman. A level of authority that should never be warranted to a barista.. the argument alone took longer than preparing a cup of coffee. The worst thing is when this woman left the two baristas made fun of her to end... it was really disgusting as an outsider to watch. This pandemic as cautious as you want to be doesnt justify being nasty. The store manager needs to take a hard look at this behavior.I couldnt stop thinking about this and had to write this review.Just be kind/ keep a stack of extra masks lets keep people together not tear people apart.
Its hard to put into words how incredible Bank Sqaure is. After moving away from the area, I still make the two hour drive from Jersey for the perfect latte. And its not just coffee that will blow your mind, they make hands down, the best chai you will every find. After they renovated, its even more beautiful than it was before. Theres absolutely nothing better in this world, than to grab literally anything on their menu, and just sit on the outside patio and take in the beauty and charm that is Bank Square
Bank Square has a great ambience and plenty of space for relaxing, studying, etc. I’m a cortado fan and I was extremely satisfied with the result. It was smooth and had a touch of creaminess at the end.If I’m visiting the Beacon area, I will definitely come here again. My wife likes the sweeter side of things and her caramel hazelnut latte was perfectly made. The photo shows the final result. As always, I also appreciate good milk artistry by the barista.
The chai here is terrific, great coffee and tea. the last time I had a chai tea this good was out in Oregon, highly recommend this place.Edit: Just went in for a chai tea tonight with a friend, we all ordered smalls and we all got our cups filled only halfway!! Incredibly disappointing. I loved this place and both her and I were incredibly upset about Bank Square cutting corners.
Come here quite frequently. Coffee is great, staff is laid back and unpretentious. If your looking for someone to kiss your ass, this is not the place for you. Bathroom is only complaint, I bring my own cleaning supplies to kill the incessant fly population that likes to fester in there...
The coffee is always Awesome, but be prepared to spend some the joe is pricey. They have wifi internet so you want more coffee because you pulled out your laptop. The staff here is always nice. The locals spend a lot of time here so it gets busy and you will run into someone you know. Support Animal Friendly
Full disclosure: originally, I was going to have a light breakfast at Kitchen Sink, but they were closed until 5PM that Saturday, June 9, 2018; the sign on the door read Closed, but the door was unlocked. So, I went to Bank Square Coffeehouse which was close by, had plenty of seating and super delicious coffee and pastries. I was able to enjoy my medium coffee and my blueberry muffin, and charge my phone, too, using a nearby outlet. The prices are quite reasonable, too. Also, there is additional seating, next door, as well as outdoor seating, and a bathroom, as well. I look forward to returning to Bank Square Coffeehouse the next time I visit Beacon, New York.Since I first submitted this review, Kitchen Sink has closed permanently, but I did go once for dinner, but my friend was like, let me treat you someplace better, and Bank Square Coffeehouse is still going strong. The service remains fast and friendly, and I think increased a bit, but not by much. And I visited three times on Friday, February 18, 2022. What does that tell you?!
Loves this quirky little place, great menu and selection. It’s nice to have a coffee place like this around, great for a quick pit stop/casual hangout/date. Nice outdoor seating for warmer weather as well. My friends and I would always made a stop by when we had free time during college.
The other times I have been here everything has been excellent. However, this time is was early evening on 7/5 after the holiday weekend and The 7/4 observed holiday. I asked for a chocolate peanut butter frappe, but they were out of peanut butter. Then I asked for a pour over coffee and was told they were out of pour overs!!? A coffee house out of filters or ground coffee? Hard to believe. My wifes caramel frappe, was good - as usual - though. I will be back again, but expecting operations to be back to the normal standards.
Super reliable coffee shop. Good coffee. Delicious treats. Nice, friendly staff. Eclectic atmosphere. Chill spot to stop and hang any time of year. The patio is nice when its warm out. Grab a pitcher of some sangria and enjoy an afternoon with friends, people watching. One of Beacons best spots. Highly recommend to anyone looking to grab a quick coffee or to people looking for a place to hang.
Beverages were tasty and the service quick. As always, Bank Sq is a hot spot and super busy. Great for the business. The young lady behind the counter was not friendly. And although I continued to smile and engage warmly, she wanted nothing to do with it. I am chocking that off to a bad day or just tired. The gentleman behind the counter was quite friendly which was great.
I absolutely LOVE this coffeehouse, great vibes and super cozy, big windows that are great for people watching and an adorable outdoor seating area. Lots of art, delicious coffee, friendly clientele. HOWEVER they desperately need to address the wifi! Its very, very spotty and unreliable and seems to get worse when the shop is full. So many people come here with their laptops and will spend money to be in here all day if they can work on their computers — we love you Bank Sq, please fix the wifi!
Bank Square - boy does this place have history! So to start off, this is a GREAT place to meet up or do some studying. The coffee here is pretty good and Ill say the prices are typical for local shops nowadays. Clean place, cool decor, and the patio out in the front really is the best during the summer. Great little local haunt!
The location is perfect.Service is always friendly and prompt.Outdoor seating with fire pit.I can only speak to the espresso shots - they are good. Not great but that might just be personal preference.Plenty of good treats many of which are vegan or gf.You lose one star (really 1.5 stars) for cleanliness. Bathroom is regularly unkept and behind the bar looks a little shabby.
We bumped into this very nice find by accident while waiting for our granddaughters train to arrive. Very quaint coffee shop. Pleasant surroundings. Quiet town. Staff was very nice and went out of their way to make sure your order was satisfactory. Most importantly great coffee! Definitely a place we will revisit.
Awesome. Quick and Very friendly staff. Atmosphere is comfortable yet stylish, decorated with amazing art which Im guessing its mostly if not all local. I went there for the first time today and literally had to go back for round 2. Great place, great people, great drinks. Do yourself a favor and go to Bank Square coffeehouse.
Great funky little coffee shop good for everything from catching up with friends to studying. Usually pretty crowded during peak hours, and can sometimes be hard to find a place to sit, but the coffee and the baked goods (including the gluten free ones) are worth it.Great staff, super friendly and fun.
Bank Square is unique. It feels like your hanging out at your friends house in the main room. Such a comfortable atmosphere and vibe. Food and drink choices are great. Artisan food stuffs, gluten free options, vegan options, killer coffee and teas. Great overall experience here.
Cozy, lively, bohemianesque Coffee shop. Large, accommodating patio that overlooks the west entrance to main street. House instruments, a fun staff, great selection of hot, cold, alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages. Small selection of pastries and healthy minded food items also. Pet friendly.Go have a cold brew for me.
Just ran into this spot for a quick to go latte.Typical tattooed arrogant barista , not friendly and my latte was bitter. Keep in mind- if you are in Italy you can get better cafe in a gas station. We have all accepted that paying $5 + for a bad cappuccino is the norm.
Very busy and trendy coffee house. A hub of social activity with young hipsters working furiously on their laptops as well as school kids and older folks coming to socialize, read or just relax. Fun place to go to meet friends, to see or be seen. Outdoor patio is great and everyones favorite spot to enjoy the sun. Very interesting selection of beers on tap. Great prices.
This place is awesome! Perfect for a quiet place to study/read during the day... on weekends in the summer they sometimes have entertainment outside on their patio. Love it here, and like how they arent just a coffee bar... they also serve treats and a few beers/sangria.
It’s located in a real nice area and it gives you all the hipster trendy vibes you could want but the service was meh. The guys behind the counter taking orders seemed too enthralled in their own conversation to bother with much other than taking your order and money and ushering you along. The coffee was good, but not great for the hype.
Love the exterior interior of location. It is very comfortable and cozy. If it wasnt for my interaction with Haley who was working the coffee bar and register all would have been good. Haley was very condescending in reference to utilizing a debit card. I was told the next time I come to make sure I utilize cash and when I said Im so sorry she still continued stating just remember when you come back use cash. Place could have received 5 stars.
A very generous interior space and lovely outdoor patio. The soccer game was on and the large screens had everyones focus. Place is very informal and hip. The coffee line isnt efficient or speedy; if it were, an easy 5 stars. But, given the friendly crowd and room to roam once drinks in hand, a delightful space to unwind or rewind!
This place is extremely over rated. Rude service, and grungy atmosphere. Hipsters have taken over this end of Main Street in the worst way. Why are you charging $6 for a cup of Folgers ?! The regular coffee is not good. The furniture is ripped and looks like they picked it up from the side of the road. Alls I see here is people sucking up your free WiFi.
Cute coffeehouse right on Main St in downtown Beacon. The space is really cool with exposed brick and plenty of comfy seating. My drink was good. Staff was complaining about random stuff in front of customers, though. The staff were also shouting across the room at people telling them to close the entrance door, which is kind of tacky and rude.Though they use Square for card payments, they require a $10 minimum. Square does not require a $10 minimum—they just take 2.6%+10¢ on each swipe. So I bough two cold salads, sesame noodle and Israeli cous cous, to bring it up to the self-imposed minimum. Both were delicious! However, there was a long, black hair in one of my salads, which made me lose my appetite a bit...
NEVER DISAPPOINTED! Bought 18 bricks of Christmas themed coffee from them. When they realized I walked 1/2 mile to them (buses run poorly on Sundays), they gave me a free large cup of coffee to warm up. All the bags were decorated by Sargent Elementary School students for which they gave a generous donation. They truly know the spirit of Christmas!
Im serious about my tea—and this is the ONLY coffee shop Ive ever gone to that does tea right! They dont give you tea bags—or cheap tea when you order iced tea, either. They BREW it, for you. Seriously: They individually brew you your iced tea! And it is quality tea, with a wide variety of blends if you like that sort of thing. I love everything else about this place, but this is, for me, the truly AMAZING part.
My cold brew was dope, and i liked that they had a variety of styles. The space was big and comfortable and they had a surprisingly good beer selection. My criticism is mainly that there were a LOT of very large flies buzzing around, to the point where i couldnt concentrate because i was getting buzzed every couple minutes by these hippopotamus sized insects.Lastly the staff seems to be consistently grumpy. I think its uniquely important for a coffee shop staff to be cheery and awake because pre-coffee me is grumpy enough for the both of us and interacting with a smiling face is an important steps towards me waking up and being a tolerable human being again. Be a dick to me after i have my coffee and wake up and ill mind a lot less.I like the place a lot i just feel like there are some key areas in need of improvement.
My friends and I were on our way to Dia:Beacon and happened on this wonderful spot. Not only was the staff incredibly friendly and helpful, but this is the kind of neighborhood spot I would love to find in NYC: Casual and unpretentious with quality food and drink. The fresh goods that taste great and a wonderful selection of coffee. I tried their cold brew coffee, and I have to say it was a revelation to someone who is not a daily coffee drinker. None of the bitterness and a lot of floral notes.
Moved to Beacon back in June 2014, from Queens. I love it here. This coffee shop is like.. the thing here. When I first walked in, I immediately loved it. It has charm, cool style, friendly staff, and most importantly - great coffee and great pastries. And, a great spot for a photo op, haha. (Pic below is of me and my friend just chilling at BKSQ)
Surprised I haven’t reviewed this place yet. Years and years of coming here, things have always been consistent and you get treated like a regular no matter who is working.. love the food and drink selection. Nothing better than a beer pitcher at the patio here during the summer :)
Your “I’m-way-better-than-starbucks” coffee shop in the heart of Beacon.Stumbled upon this little gem finding a cool coffee spot on a cold night. Definitely must come back to this little art gallery vibe, urban, hipstery, chill, intimate, coffee shop. The environment is very chill vibes only. Perfect spot to sip on a cup of hot/iced coffee & more. If you have a sweet tooth definitely try their black bean brownies. Had me fooled for regular brownie of how amazing it was! There are couches, bar chairs, high chairs, outdoor seating and even a fireplace outside. You can bring your guitar or just make some s’mores in their outside area in the back. Very cozy spot with hanging string lights for a chill night out. If you’re looking for a little peace and quiet while sipping on coffee, bring your laptop or a book to read! Great spot to socialize or not. Staff is very down to earth. If you love their coffee so much that you want to take t home, you can! They sell bags of their delicious coffee. Definitely recommend this place.
Kind of grungy and seriously overrated coffee shop in Beacon. Good coffee--everything else about this place is mediocre at best. Has a dirty hipster / frat house with Craiglist furniture feel. No comfortable places to work if you want to use your laptop. The patio outside is OK. Theres no service, like most coffee shops in the USA. Youll have to toast your own bagel if you buy one. Bathroom is in rough shape. Places like this are what allow Starbucks (with their clean, albeit vanilla locations) to thrive. They finally accept credit cards with a $10 minimum.
I was at this establishment a year and some months ago, I wanted to sit down and eat my breakfast sandwiches that I bought from Mr.Vs deli. And this employee looked at me and said that I have to buy something from their Cafe in order to be here and I was like I dont see a sign that says that I cant eat/bring my food here and enjoy it.I wont be coming back to the cafe bc I felt disrespected.
As a barista myself, I was dissapointed to find the two guys working at the counter to be absolute robots. I was on line and made eye contact with the guy on bar, smiled and said hello, and he looked at me like I was crazy. The guy on register was a zombie and super uninformative when I asked about the baked goods. Generally really sad since I heard great things about this place, but maybe they werent havent a good day so possibly will go in again.
Bank square employees working at the counter are taking pictures of people without convent, disrespectful to customers and people in the community dont known if they smell, dont know if they bye gender. Dont know counter employees name, why dont they give a taste of their own medicine .
The attended was very rude. I asked him for some suggestions and was very unreceptive to the request. Then I go back and ask for another coffee and say that I was just looking for a suggestion and the rebuttal was No, you just wanted caramel in something. Rude. Extremely rude. Maybe he was upset that he had to work the day after Thanksgiving. Than you for a really bad experience.

2021-12-27Great place to enjoy a cup of coffee in Beacon, NY. We were visiting on Sunday so it was pretty busy. They had a live band playing which was really nice and added special atmosphere.

2022-01-09My chai tea latte was so delicious, one of the best I’ve had. They have several non-dairy milk options. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They also have some wine and beer options. Not much in the way of food, mostly just drinks. The bathroom was a little sketchy, not the cleanest, not wheelchair accessible.

2021-07-14This is the perfect place to chill, have your caffeine fix, and get some work done. It’s super cute and cozy. The vibe is super chill and welcoming. The drinks were exactly what I needed. The barista that helped us was very kind. Would definitely recommend and go back.

2022-03-13Great service and fresh coffee! The lounge area is very comfortable and homey, and they offer products from local businesses. The only negative I could place is the bathroom being quite small, but that can be easily overlooked. Highly recommend visiting.

2020-10-29Quaint coffee/tea/hot chocolate/juice/beer hangout with a mix of breakfast/lunch/light dinner meals. Awesome homey inside, excellent outside area. I had a delicious shepherds pie which I heated in the communal microwave. Chased down with a mocha cafe

2022-06-12Came in today and even though they got my order wrong the girl with the red hair behind the counter was very nice about it and remade it. The frozen chai never disappoints
