Simply amazing! We are so fortunate to be a part of this incredible learning community. The teachers and administrative staff are thoughtful, supportive, creative, and passionate about education. Children are treated with utmost respect, classrooms are environments for inquisitive minds to explore and develop, and the community of families is wonderful!
A completely unique institution, in the making for 100 years. A faculty and staff devoted to each and every child and family. Educators who are continually using the most contemporary learning research to reach each and every child. A place where children want to come, eagerly, every day! If you want your child to love learning and to have maximum support, consider applying. I am a parent of a child who has attended for five years.
The Bank Street SFC is a special place, in so many ways. Not only does it have a history of progrssive education, but true to thr nature of what a progressive instititon is, Bank Street is constantly evaluating itself and struving to create a better and rellevabt educational experience for its children and community, all rooted in developmentally appropriate and thoughtful, caring practice. We feel so lucky to have our family here.
My daughter is in her second year at Bank Street School for Children and I couldnt be happier. It is a wonderfully progressive, thoughtful and enriching school and the teachers are some of the best I have ever encountered.
From the preschool years (for real!), Bank Street creates problem solvers, critical thinkers, articulate communicators, effective teammates, self-aware leaders -- and, even above all that, grounded, genuinely nice and intrinsically motivated and curious kids. In the 21st century, this is the kind of daily education our children need most.
We are new parents. When we decided to move our son from a public school to private school, we knew that we wanted him to be at Bankstreet school and not just any private school. We love and agree with everything this school stands for. Our son is loving the school and teachers. We are so glad we moved him here.
Quality of education is exceptional. Cross curricular, experiential learning from many formats. The learning sticks, the kids enjoy going and they turn out to be passionate thinkers. Glad to be a part of the community.
I love this school! My daughter over the last 8 years is developing into such an inquisitive student and broad-minded individual it is such a pleasure to witness. Every teacher we have met has been outstanding.

2016-10-14Our 7 year old has been at Bank Street for four years now and she is simply thriving. Its a fantastic school, the teachers are incredibly caring and patient and inclusive. The curriculum is broad and encourages each child to be curious, find their own answers, and forge their own path - all while learning the usual reading, writing and math, and then some. Our daughter is also learning to be a citizen of her classroom, New York City, the USA, and the world; to talk about racial and justice issues, treating each other with fairness and compassion, finding common ground and celebrating all of our distinct heritages. Bank Street School For Children is simply a place our child can be her best self, and they have started her on the path to being a smart, caring, fulfilled young woman.

2016-10-14Our family has been part of the Bank Street community for 12 years, with our two daughters entering in the 4/5s and graduating from 8th grade. We have had a wonderful experience for all 12 years. The teachers are outstanding, and so well supported by each other and the staff that they are able to fully support the students as learners. The parent community has been wonderful and welcoming and we have made lifelong friendships there. The focus of the school on social emotional development and on social justice issues is exactly what we wanted for our children.

2016-10-14Bank Street SFC is an incredible nurturing environment where my children have been excited to attend every day as they have grown. The teachers all have plans for their classrooms that are focused on the children. The Bank Street College and Graduate School is an added benefit that supports the School for Children with an ample supply of student teachers and special programs. Our family enjoys being a part of the Bank Street community and we highly recommend it.

2016-10-18Both my children attended Bank Street from preschool on up. The dedication, thoughtfulness and warmth of the teachers and administration is reflected in the thoughtful, passionate and engaged students that Bank Street produces. My husband and I are very happy with our experiences at Bank Street, and are so glad we found such a warm and welcoming place.

The Bank Street community of teachers, administrators and families is warm, welcoming and supportive.Our child continues to engage in a multitude of activities that challenge, stimulate and enhance his love of learning and support his social development. 2016-10-13My three children attend Bank Street and all three, very different kids, have thrived. The teachers and the administration are the most dedicated, passionate and thoughtful educators I have ever come across. The community is diverse and exceedingly warm. As a school and as a community, I can not recommend Bank Street highly enough!

2016-10-14Exceptionally gifted and caring teachers. Students learn how to think critically in both academic and social ways. I am constantly impressed by Bank Streets passion for ALL of its students, tailoring the curriculum to optimize each childs experience. Bank Street is more than just a school. It is a vital, thoughtful and caring community. I feel privileged to have my daughter attend. She is all the richer for it.

2016-10-13During our school application year, we toured more than a dozen schools and Bank Street really stood out as a strong leader in progressive education. The entire school (teachers, parents, staffs and administrators) share a unified belief in an experience-based and child-centered approach of education. Our kids enjoy learning at school and develop strategic thinking skills for both academic challenges and social issues.

2016-10-11As a parent and an alumni of the school for children I cannot say enough wonderful things about Bank Street. As a parent, I see it as a place that fosters innovative thinking, compassionate community members and a love learning -- asking children to approach the world with a growth mindset not a fixed one. As an alumni, I am a person who has had the good fortune to attended some of the finest and most prestigious institutions in America and I can say without a doubt that it is the unparalleled K-8 education I received at Bank Street that laid the foundation to make that possible.

2016-10-14The teachers, the entire staff, the culture and values the place instills and promotes so inspiring and nurturing. I am so grateful my children have been able to be apart of this amazing school.The attention to individual needs, finding your own voice as a writer, thinker and even mathematician are great gifts to my children which I had to figure out for myself.
