Whatever you do don’t speak to the chef! Extremely rude definitely do not want anyone to have the experience that I’ve had with him today. If you do decide to go it’s a great spot for an intimate date I would avoid the food but great cocktails and friendly bar staff.

This place is great any time of day! The breakfast sandwiches are my favorite in Rochester. I eat eggs, but actually prefer their vegan egg substitute. The lunch menu is great and very vegetarian friendly. I havent eaten dinner here, but the cocktails are creative and delicious. Plus the service is top notch. An all around excellent experience!

Bar Bantam is a great place for eating. Their menu is diverse and caters to Vegans Vegetarians and meat eaters alike. They are happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend checking this spot out if one is looking for a fabulous eatery in downtown Rochester. They start serving alcohol after 3pm.
Wonderful experience! Modern elegant ambiance and very personal service! Large room that feels intimate. We really enjoyed the winter tasting menu and look forward to coming back in the spring. All of the food was amazing and the chef invited us up to the window, and thanked us at the end of the meal, will dine here again!!

Great to sit on the patio! My sandwich was $9 for lunch. I had the Al Pastora, pork, pineapple and black beans. It was delicious. Would have liked to see a little more food for $9 but you can’t beat the view. Definitely a place that you come for the aesthetic.
Pre-covid I worked in the building and they have the best oatmilk latte and great breakfast sandwiches! A really great spot to grab a quick breakfast bite

If youre looking for a hip bar to get a great craft cocktail in a unique atmosphere, this is a great spot. It has a cool 3 meal a day modern diner vibe mixed with a swanky cocktail bar in the middle of downtown. Dedicated bartenders and baristas add a special touch and they mix it up with aperitivo hours on Monday and Tuesday for a casual date, business meeting, or evening hangout.

The good: nice ambiance. The corn fritters and fingerling potatoes were delicious!The bad: the goat cheese toast was super gross. After taking over a half hour to come out of the kitchen, a piece of the pork chop I ordered was raw. Like RAW. The majority of the interior of that piece was the color and texture of the stuff in the grocery store meat case.The ugly: though the pork was objectively raw in that spot, the server returned with an explanation from someone (the cook? the manager?) that it was merely “pink” and that’s how they serve it there. I’ve seen pink pork. This was raw. Mistakes happen, but at least admit it when they do - particularly given that eating uncooked meat can make someone extremely sick.Why they still have 3 stars: the server was pleasant and took both the goat cheese toast and pork chop off the bill without us asking. Also, the little piece of pork chop that I ate before uncovering the uncooked part was very good (and cooked perfectly). The fried rice was also good. Basically, the stuff that was good was GREAT and the stuff that was bad was not charged to the bill.

I have had several of the breakfast sandwiches and they are AMAZING!! Also, they make a Wonderful Goat Cheese Toast during the dinner service that is to die for. Also the vanilla latte is a winner. Check out their website and fb for specials. You will not be disappointed.

The food is AMAZING. We recently went for lunch (I got the Chinos Favorite) and it was great. The service was extremely fast, especially because we were only in for our hour lunch break. The price was very reasonable and I plan to go back for dinner soon!

Excellent atmosphere, excellent breakfast sandwiches and excellent coffee. We just decided to stop in and check it out and were pleasantly surprised. The Chase building is very nice inside and our server was excellent.
Went for breakfast. The vegan scramble sandwich and coffee were excellent. Previously went for cocktails, which were creative, tasty, and reasonably priced. Servers were great both times.

Great food great location. What else do you need? A perfect spot to grab a nice healthy lunch downtown with out the fuss but with the class.
I have only had their breakfast offerings. What I have had has been good tasting. It is a little pricey but expected and consistent with other cafes in office buildings.
There is no price listed on the menu for substituting tofu on a breakfast sandwich which makes it seem like it would be at no cost to substitue. The upcharge is actually 3 extra dollars which makes the bfast sandwich 10 instead of 7 which is a extravagant pricewise especially compared to other good vegan/veg bfast sandwiches around like Harts or Owl House.

2022-05-10Had a great experience on a Friday evening. There were probably 30 people here when my wife and I arrived. Once we approached the bar, we were greeted with staff eager to serve. The drinks were perfectly crafted and the atmosphere was like being in a much larger city. I definitely recommend checking this place out!

2018-02-27Fun, clean, great staff. This place is brand new and they already have it figured out. Their cocktail menu is well put together with some pretty creative drinks. $10 each. All our drinks were great. A little more than I like to pay, but on part for the down town area. Theyre open mornings for coffee and breakfast food. Each day they have one dinner option which is different daily. There is lots of bar seating an tables are also available. Everything is clearly thought-though and well done, I love it. Id never been in the metropolitan building before going there, its a cool place, very modern and clean. The bar is off to the side, creating its open space. Their hours are a bit strange, Id like to see them extended and they did mention that they plan to be open longer in the future. The bar had a professional peoples vibe to it, I didnt go dressed down during the day. I will go back for sure.

You will find Bar Bantom in the atrium of the Chase tower downtown.Bar Bantam offered friendly service and delicious lunch food at a reasonable price. Sandwich dishes were $7.For lunch I enjoyed the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich and split an avocado toast (hilariously called the Millennial Mortgage) with my dining partner. To me, the mark of a good sandwich is in the bread. And for these two dishes, the bread was a 10/10. The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich bread was fluffy and chewy like a proper brioche bun, while the avocado toast was served on a single thick cut slice of dense and chewy nut bread that had hints of pumpernickel.I could go into further detail about these sandwiches, but will stop here. They were simply well put together. On a chilly autumn day, it was lovely to pair these dishes with a ginger lemon tea, recommended by the server.If I lived in town this would be a regular lunch spot. 5/5 for a flawless lunch Id recommend to everyone.

2019-02-03Great open space to have a group of friends on a weekend. Food isnt served after 10pm on the weekend, and is a unique blend of tastes. Specialty drinks are available, and are different as the names they go by.

2018-11-25This place is legit! Manhattan Building or old chase tower building. 2nd floor up, amazing views and open floor plan. Tons of room to mingle and talk with a great menu, great drinks and relaxing but hip atmosphere. Owner is super friendly. Underground tunnel connects right to the parking garage.
