This might be my favorite place ever in NYC city! I’ve never seen a place like this that makes you so confortable and feel like home. Real big up to the bartenders, the doorman’s and all the artists that show love there. Wish we could have the same in ParisLoved it xxSarah
Weds is Unlimited wings for $15. They came in a timely manner. They give you five at a time and I went through 3 different flavors. They do have live bands so it can get loud at times. They have games in the back such as skee ball, pool, and darts which is fun to play with some drinking buddies.
WAY too loud for me, but everyone else seemed to be having fun. A little on the cheesy side. I went with friends who said it was the worst selection of songs theyve ever heard there, so maybe I just ended up on there on a bad night. Servers were friendly and attentive.Out of 4 womens bathrooms: 1 has no door, 1 has no lock, 1 wobbles from side to side when you sit on it, and 1 had poop on the seat.
Went there for my birthday and had such a blast! I wasn’t originally planning on going there, but we walked by and it looked so fun. They have great drink deals and the whole vibe and experience was amazing. I loved the variety of music, great for every age. It’s like the best parts of karaoke but without people having to actually hear you sing (which was great for a tone deaf person like me). The musicians were awesome.
Definitely the highlight of my trip to NYC. I went to Bar 9 on a Wednesday to take advantage of the buffet wings special. The wings were great! I tried to sample all 10 flavors but could only make it to 5. I recommend trying the Hennessey Pina Colada...definitely one of the best youll ever drink. The best part of the night was the dueling pianos. Those ladies can sing!! Theyve got an extensive repertoire of songs that spans quite a few years. The staff were also amazing. Tables were all booked up and the guy at the was able to secure one for us in seconds. The waitress was lovely and checked up on us regularly to ensure that we were enjoying our night. Bar 9 is a must visit!!!
Bar Nine is SO Fun!!! The beer is is great, all you can eat wings (the wings are INSANE). This bar is not a must visit in Hells Kitchen, it is a MUST visit in all of NYC.I am a local. Live nearby and can tell you, you will have fun, eat great food and drink great beer. Come here and hang with m
Planned an evening here in summer 2019. Checked out the web site for the hours, and the nights line up etc. Get there only to see the whole place is totally gutted / under renos. When I reach out on email, Im told sorry, under renovation... well, no kidding, but how about you advise that on your website, so people dont waste their time?re the reply - This was a night in summer 2019.
Do not eat their food, it tastes smokey and burnt, it was horrible. I took my fiancée here for his birthday in May of 2018. We had tacos and chicken fingers and can I say yuck! Save your money. The bathroom is tiny and filthy and there was only one door out of the two stalls so only one stall was usable. IDK how they haven’t been shut down yet. The main thing we enjoyed was the games and their weekly paint night.
Good times Variety of different patrons From locals coming back from gym/yoga to tourists to men in uniforms visiting Great for large groups and fun interactions with musicians Very good for spur of the moment fun time without breaking the bank Authentic and unpretentious, a place worthy of many returns
Bar nine is a classic old school bar lounge with a great selection of draft beers and liquors! Also it has a delicious food menu for your traditional hole in the wall mega plus.....the inside is so unique with a weird design of back tables and games ! But thats not all ; there will be live performances and shows - its like a comfortable mini concert 6 nights a week!
Happy hour drinks is the best thing about this place. The atmosphere is nice enough and the staff are also polite, if a little fake nice in order to get decent tips. The happy hour food is very disappointing, especially the chicken bites (3 pieces of chicken for $6!) we added cheese to our sliders, paid $1 extra, it never came. The tater tots were OK, but not worth $9 (have to pay $1 for cheese $2 for bacon on top). Would only ever return to get drunk, never to eat!
Place is great. The service here is well and the bartenders / staff are very attentive and friendly. Also on top of it even with a packed house. The food is typical bar food affair. Made well though and usually fast. Love the tots here as well. Nice and crispy.Never had a night here with the Duelling Pianos. But it seems popular and keeps the crowd coming. So the ambiance is cool. Better a lively crowd than no people.
We stumbled across this place after dinner in Hell’s Kitchen and honestly I am so happy we did. The host, security/bouncer, and coat-check guy were AMAZINGLY KIND. We didn’t have reservations but they pulled up two chairs for us to sit at the bar. The bartenders were, let’s say, not as friendly. Not sure I saw either one of them talk or even share a smile with the customers. The dueling pianos show was killer! Such a fun atmosphere. We ended up staying the entire night until they closed. Totally worth it!
Very friendly and attentive staff. They keep it very fun and make sure its easy and quick to order drinks. Bar food served. Pool, skeet ball, and loads of other entertaining games (even beer pong) in the back to keep you busy. The dueling piano nights are the real draw here and these night are especially fun and crowded.
Bar Nine is tons of fun, and I look forward to returning! The staff members are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, trying to accommodate each customer as well as possible. Drinks are of better-than-average quality, with a nice selection of beers and ciders on tap and top-shelf spirits. Drink sizes, actual pour sizes, and prices are largely as expected for an entertainment venue, perhaps a little better. I will point out that the Groupon redemption policy and process is a little unclear, even after the limited explanation by the server, but I did ultimately receive goods and services greater in value than the cost of the Groupon voucher. There is a free, but mandatory, coat check on performance nights, but it is a great help, not an inconvenience. One of my favorite employees in the entire place was the coat check attendant. He took a few moments to engage each patron in conversation, while not decreasing his pace or efficiency. He also kindly suggested each customer take a photo of the claim check, so that the articles could be found easily if the ticked were to become misplaced. Great idea! So simple! Even when the attendant had to walk into the bar to request a patron check a coat that was brought inside without being checked, he was polite with each customer, even when he could tell they were lying to him or trying to sweet-talk him.The dueling pianos show was a lot of fun! The pianists are enjoyable entertainers, playing well and employing just enough of the right types of patter for the crowd in attendance. This is not the best dueling piano Ive seen, in terms of musical quality, but it is one of the best overall dueling piano performances Ive attended. I would, however, note that it would be great if the drummer learned the words to more of the songs, and also if he knew the songs well enough to play more suitably for each song, instead of doing nearly everything with basic, little-changing, heavy-handed, regular rock beats. I really like the British piano players drumming, though, when he took the kit for a song.

2022-03-26Extra cold beers, a pool table, snacks, & a side of karaoke show tunes - couldnt ask for more! dont expect fancy though, its the perfect kind of dive: a little grunge and grit with great bartenders. so happy bar nine is still alive and made it through the panini.

2022-03-22I went there on St Paddy’s Day with some friends to celebrate my birthday and we had a great time! David Kelly was at the piano that night and did an amazing job singing and engaging the crowd. Definitely will go back.

2022-02-01Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a wild night out! The dueling piano shows are a ton of fun, and as a musician myself I was seriously impressed at how they were able to keep the energy dialed up to 11 for four straight hours.Food is your typical bar fare; I ordered the sliders which were very tasty. Drink selection/prices are solid as well.

2022-06-17Great dueling piano avenue.. great gathering place for food and fun. Pool table is a great place to gather. Private events can be scheduled. Talented performer and the owner Steve is ready to make you feel part of the “Cheers” ambiance. Great find in NYC midtown!

2021-11-21So fun visiting Bar Nine in NYC, highly recommend. First time visiting a dueling piano bar, great vibe and the hosts were fantastic getting the crowd involved. PLUS bonus nugget there is a payphone on the way to the restrooms... I have no idea if it works but entertaining to see!

2022-06-26Without a doubt the best bar in Hell’s Kitchen. Jared, Kacey, Meghan and the rest of the staff are simply the best. I was looking for my own “Cheers”, and I found it. I can’t help but talk it up to everyone I meet. The Tuesday night Broadway open mic has the most incredible energy, and the overall slate of programming is such a wide range of experiences. Come on down to Bar Nine, where everyone shines.
