Moved to city after college and went to a few barbershops. They all were either overpriced or just rush through your cut. Then someone recommended barbers on 25th. Been going to mike ever since. Great place. Not too expensive. Mike knows what he’s doing, does a great job and takes his time. Good vibes in the shop too. Highly recommend!

I moved back to the city in February with a really awful covid haircut and walked in to Barbers on 25th with no expectations. Roman took me immediately and I gave him zero instructions - just told him to give me whatever he thought would look good on me. Im not kidding when I say he gave me the freshest, cleanest look Ive ever had. Ive been coming in consistently every 2-3 weeks since then for the past 8 months. The haircuts are super affordable and its definitely the best barber experience Ive ever had in NYC.

Mike charges less than $30 and his cuts consistently outperform any of the barbers I’ve gone to. He’s friendly and has some great whiskey in the shop too.More importantly, Mike remembers what you like. Was a walk-in as it was my first time at the shop. Roman was my barber and he was very personable as well as extremely meticulous which led to honestly the best haircut I have ever gotten. Ive been going to this shop since I first moved to New York. I had a good relationship with the previous owner but had to stop going when his son took over and attempted to ruin my hairline. You never realize how much a good barber matters until you let the wrong person near your hair. A few of my friends convinced me to try the shop again after Mike took over and Im glad I listened to them. Mike is an experienced barber who I trust to always give me a great cut. I went to a few different barbers in Murray Hill/Kips Bay before going to see Mike. I had never felt great about my haircuts in NYC until I had Mike cut my hair, he fixed up one of my recent haircuts and left me feeling beyond satisfied and confident. I found Mike after my old barber went MIA. I had been going to the same guy for almost a decade when he disappeared, hopefully to retirement and not “disappeared”, but who knows. After I was barberless I hopped around looking for a good barber who wasn’t going to overcharge me and who wasn’t going to butcher my hair. One kept me waiting for two hours, one would never be open when he said he would, and one used thinning scissors on my hair which resulted in one of the worst cuts of my 30+ years.Then I found Mike, who was tucked away on the block behind me. Mike fixed the thinning shears issue, and has consistently given me a quality cut for what feels like over a year or two. He takes card (but bring cash), doesn’t over charge, and remembers you. Everybody is a part of the conversation and it’s a welcoming experience. Highly recommend him to all of my friends and strangers.

Ive been to many barbers over my young life and while Ive gotten many good haircuts Ive never gotten a haircut that made me think of my Barber as a Craftsman or an artist, until I met Michael. The man has magical fingers and from the first haircut, even from a layman, I could immediately tell his level of expertise. My cut came out fresher than fresh, like new born baby fresh, brand new Mercedes right out of the factory fresh, with the leather seats still wrapped in plastic. If youre looking for a haircut go somewhere else, if youre looking for a fresh cut thatll have people staring at you from across the train platform wondering who your Barber is, see Michael.

Apparently there is only one good barber in this shop. I watched a grown adult sit in the good barbers chair for 40 minutes doubting wether or not the haircut he was getting was what he wanted. Barber had me, plus 2 more who called in before hand waiting on him, wasnt about to sit in the chair and get a rushed haircut... If this place really gets that many people for one barber, he should setup an appointment system.

IF you go to co-owner Mike...prepare to dispel any and every nightmare myth about going to a barber/stylist youve ever experienced or, heard: He did EXACTLY what I asked for, with total precision and skill. He had his work cut out for him, as I had been cutting my own hair for months. I deserved every light-handed insult he handed to my results. At the end, he nonchalantly told me that he just gave me the best haircut I ever had (at least for what age, genes and fate has dealt me, to date). Ill be honest, I was a bit apprehensive at first. I was rushing to a wedding, the shop had just changed management, and (still being honest) Ive had bad experiences when someone is less experienced with ethnic/black/African American hair. I was completely wrong though, Mike did an amazing job. Ill be heading back soon. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

Professional service and clean, clean, clean. They took every precaution necessary + more which made me very comfortable (temperature check, sanitizing chair and equipment between customers, masks, gloves, distancing between chairs, etc). I’m relatively new to the neighborhood and I found my new go-to spot.

2022-06-27I moved to NYC in April and came across the shop while looking for a new barber. Mike hooked me up with a great cut from my first time and the rest is history. He’s quick, consistent, and is very conscious of how you want your hair to look. Mike genuinely cares about giving you a fire cut and he always puts in the effort to make you look right. I really enjoy coming into the shop and chopping it up with Mike as well. He’s an awesome dude that exudes positive energy. I highly recommend this shop for anyone’s next cut!

2022-01-21Truly the best haircut and shaving experience I’ve had in NYC. I’ve been to 3 other places prior to this place and non can compare to the service and styling this place can offer! Both Roman and Mike are friendly and amazing. I had the change to get my cut and shave done by Roman today and he is amazing! Also a plus that this place is queer friendly!

2021-11-14I been to so many barbershop but i was never satisfied with my haircut because I never get what I actually wanted. However, that change since I start coming to this barbershop and when I met Rome I told him what I want and he listed, he also give me suggested such as: what’s good for my hair and the fade I should get. He totally meet the requirements that I was looking for. He actually knows what his doing. Every time I go to him, I don’t even have to say anything he just know what cut and hairstyle I want. They also offer drinks here, good music, clean bathroom and shop. They work fast but very precise. His partner is also a good barber 💈 both of them will make you feel comfortable and trust me, you got to trust them cuz they know how to do there job. Thank you guys.

2021-11-11I just moved to NYC a couple of months ago and needed to find a new go-to barber. Mike was super friendly and gave me one of my best cuts in years. I’ve only been a few times but each visit has been professional and exceeded expectations. Definitely a great value for service, friendliness, and quality.

2022-04-04Made me wear my mask. Which I’m fine with (completely vaccinated), but completely missed hair by my ears.. Missed a good amount that I needed to go somewhere else to get it touched up later that day.Barbers are really a hit or miss.

2021-08-25This is an amazing haircut experience. Each of the barbers makes you feel right at home when you walk in. They were able to fit me in as a walk-in even though they were fully booked for the day. Great conversation, a great hair cut, and a great price. The haircut I got was, clean professional and only 15 minutes. I will be coming here again for my next haircut and I recommend this barber shop to anyone looking for a new barber.
