Cant say enough about the kindness, competence and ease of doing business with John and his team.He was very accommodating in so many ways and did a great job of getting the mast off my SO419 with a short deadline.

Please note, this is a marina, not a yacht club. The staff is minimal. Captain John takes breakfast until 8:30, and is off for lunch. You will not find anyone in uniform helping you at the docks. Know how to bring your boat into the service dock and secure it.That being said, the place is exceptionally clean, well-run, and casual, and the denizens are friendly.Captain John knows how to fix about any boat problem, and has an impressive array of equipment to do so.Many of the regulars are from Quebec, which adds an international flavor. If you are a member, they take care of your boat as if it were their own.The slips are extremely protected from just about any wind. This may well be the most secure marina on Champlain. The town of Rouses Point is laid-back and offers nice services. Ginos Pizza is a short walk, as is the Dollar General, which is a fairly good place to resupply with basic items. There is a good coffee house in town, and a liquor and wine shop. There is no grocery store, although Stewarts Shops offers some basic hot items, ice cream, decent coffee, edible pizza and friendly service. The Aubuchon Hardware is well-stocked and helpful. OReillys Auto Parts has many things the cruising sailor might need, and they are customer oriented as well.Do not expect to resupply here with major groceries. The nearest grocery store is the Price Chopper in Champlain, and their prices are predatory. You are better off hauling down to Plattsburgh, where there is a better variety of discount stores. To boats entering into or leaving Canada, both the US and Canadian customs docks are within view.Dont put up sails until you clear the breakwater to the south. The first few miles to the south are technical, and there are more than a few reefs and shoals on the way. After the channel opens up, things are more relaxed for sailing.

Nice marina with friendly owner. Wish it was closer to me because I would store my boat there. Place was very quiet this year with the Canadian border closed
