BARE Blends in other cities:
The first time I visited was a good experience, but the 2nd time I went in, my girlfriend and I found a bunch of tiny pieces of plastic in our bowls. I wasn’t going to say anything after finding the first or 2nd but we kept finding little bits so I figured I should voice it. They were very busy in this particular day, but that’s not an excuse for this sort of thing. At the end of the bowl (I finished it very carefully) there were many pieces found (see image) May deter me from visiting in the future.
Love this place! Most delicious smoothie bowls!Only downside for me is they use Arbonne protein powders and Arbonne is an MLM that takes advantage of people in the name of “entrepreneurship” I don’t like supporting a company that feeds into a cycle like that so I’m going to be re-thinking my smoothie bowl choices…
First time visiting. It was after 2pm so I figured it wouldnt be too busy.Only 2 ladies waiting when I walked in, the menu is small and I didnt see what I wanted. I usually go to RAW which is Awesome but they close at 2. So I politely asked the woman if I could create my own and with much attitude she said fine what is it that you want?. I began to explain and she quickly stopped me saying that they dont make acia bows as the base. She said I have to mix it with some other fruit. She said they only use packets. Because their blender is right next to the register it was extremely hard to hear her and of course the mask didnt help. I didnt really know what she was saying but I continued and then everything that I asked for she just gave me an attitude about. I clearly had never been there so you would think the staff would be more apt to helping explain how they work and the different options. Like I said it wasnt busy but she was just trying to rush me out of there I felt like. And then come to find out that my bowl was over $13 I couldnt believe it. I assumed it would be really really good. And then I tried it. Strawberries are not fresh cut theyre very slimy like theyve been sitting in a bowl, the bananas were brown, granola was stale Definitely not worth $13 when I can get the same bowl anywhere else for $11 or cheaper with MUCH kinder service and fresher ingredients!!. Because I am on a very strict diet theres very few places I can stop and get a quick meal However I will not be stopping here again Unfortunately.
This location never fails to disappoint me! I go in everyday and order my usual smoothie. The girls in there are SO sweet they even remember me by name. Renee is my girl! She is the best and always a great attitude when I come in. Even when things get crazy they all make the most of the situation and keep things going! It’s a great place so of course it may get busy! This is my favorite location and I HIGHLY recommend if you’ve never been!
The best smoothie bowl place around!! Definitely recommend ordering ahead online, everything is made to order and fresh so it takes a little while but their online ordering is so easy and you won’t have to wait!! There are so many menu options to try but I always choose to build my own bowl and it’s amazing!!
BARE is great - if you dont mobile order a make your own bowl. On two occasions now I have gone to the location in Albany and they have neglected to fully read the ingredients that I would like to be in my bowl.On the first occasion it was on a Friday morning and they were really busy and I could tell that the girl working was overwhelmed due to the messiness of her work station and her flustered attitude. I ordered my bowl to be ready at a specific time, and when I came to pick up my bowl mine was not ready yet. The girl made three bowls before she got to mine, giving me a pretty significant wait time. I wish that BARE had an email or text message system to prompt me when my order is ready so that I didnt have a wait time. Since my bowl was not ready yet, I was able to watch the girl put the wrong milk in my bowl. I asked for coconut milk and she put almond milk in my bowl. I did not ask her to remake it because I could tell that she was overwhelmed and I personally do not have an allergy to almond milk, however this made me concerned for others who may have allergies. The second occasion, which was today, March 11, 2021, I ordered a make your own bowl for pick up, and was disappointed to see that one of the toppings that I paid an extra $0.75 cents for was not on my bowl. I double checked the receipt to verify that I did in fact order this item, and they just neglected to put it on my bowl. These bowls are very expensive and so I would have appreciated if they took a little more time to double check that they put all of the toppings listed on the receipt on the bowl. I was also disappointed to see that I asked for there to be a lid on my bowl, and the workers failed to put one on. I ask for a lid to be placed on my bowl 1.) so it is easy to transport and 2.) because we are in the middle of a global pandemic and it makes me uncomfortable to have my toppings openly out in the pick up case because another person who is mobile ordering and picking up has the potential to touch it. I feel a lot more comfortable consuming a bowl if I know for a fact that the contents of the bowl have not been touched by any other customers. In all I would recommend ordering in person so that they do not mess up your bowl, and if you have an allergy I would recommend specifically stating this so they do not have the potential to put something in your bowl that will cause you to have an allergic reaction.
BARE has great bowls and options for their bowls, but definitely try not to go on a weekend if you can. I online ordered at about 10:30 on Saturday, and was told my pickup time was 11:05. After arriving at 11:05, I had to wait another 25 minutes for my bowl to be made. Not sure if it was worth the almost hour wait, but definitely really yummy!
Overall experience was decent, however there is something that needs to be addressed amongst the overall team. Everyone that works there besides one employee was doing alright, however one of them, who I believe is named Kelly is very rude and uptight. I noticed this immediately following my picking up of my bowl that I get every day. She is always rude or barking orders at her fellow employees as if she is some manager. If she is, then shame on her, if she isnt then someone in the higher-ups needs to tell her to tone it down and stop being so rude. If a regular customer noticed, then some others most definitely have as well. Either get her to tone it down or Ill stop coming in so regularly and inform others who Ive recommended to come try out this place, to not come at all and to avoid it.
I went to bare for the first time today, and I must say, they served me THE BEST bowl Ive ever had in my life. I ordered a build your own bowl, and I loved how I was able to customize every single thing that went into and on top of my bowl. This place has so many topping options, and the staff is really good about leading you through the build your own process. The space is small, but perfect for its purposes, and the owner was incredibly friendly and made me feel so welcomed. When I asked her about the limited seating, she pointed out that they are adding seating, which I think is a good idea considering how busy it was in there. She was so nice, she actually walked me over to the space where the additional seating will be just to show me what it was going to look like. I thought that was so thoughtful.I also asked her about which nut butter was the healthiest to put on my smoothie bowl, and she knew the answer right away. She also explained to me why it was the healthiest, and the health benefits of the nut butter that I chose. So not only is this woman super knowledgeable about her product, but she genuinely seems to care about promoting wellness. I think this sets this place apart from all the others alone.Overall, I had a wonderful experience and I cannot wait to go back and try another bowl. This place is truly a hidden gem on the back side of Stuyvesant Plaza. I really wish there were more places like this.
My boyfriend and I just went and shared the Strawberry Cheesecake Spring bowl.. they have to make this all year round it is amazing!!! The strawberry cashew cream really pulled it all together! The one thing I wish they did though was have a dome shaped lid to fit in all the toppings, if you’re getting a lid, chances are you aren’t getting as much as people without one since their toppings are stacked out of the bowl. We also shared the overpriced Ruby Refresher which I wouldn’t reccomend at all, it is just straight up lime juice.. gross. We had to buy pomegranate juice and rasberries to add to it at home to even make it drinkable. This place should also consider a student discount as there are so many colleges around.
I have gone to Bare for years and have loved it, however was very displeased with how I was treated today. Firstly, I love their bowls, but my bowl today didn’t have any bee pollen on top when I got home, which is honestly the reason I ordered my bowl. Additionally, it took over thirty minutes to get my order, and before an owner tries to respond to this saying that their bowls are “all natural ingredients and take longer to prepare than a fast food restaurant” as they have on other reviews, I’ve been coming to Bare for years and know how long it should take to get three bowls. Lastly, and possibly most disheartening, while waiting an absurdly long time for my order I noticed one woman was sitting in open stools at the bar which were not covered with things restricting the seating area, and after she left upon getting her bowl, I went and sat there as well. Not even two minutes after I sat down, the same woman with tattoos and short brown hair who has received a bad review before yelled at me saying “Do you not SEE the pineapples on the other seats? You can’t sit there, this seating area is closed. If you absolutely HAVE to sit down, you can sit over there.” I was shocked. She also yelled at a woman who had an infant for trying to sit there after I had. I understand if the seating area is closed because of Covid, but it needs to be more clear. Tape over all of those stools or something. Additionally, if someone did go and sit in the other area, they wouldn’t be able to hear their name called over the blenders. Even the man standing near me was shocked by the way I was treated. I’ve previously loved Bare, and am having a hard time writing this review, but I had to say something about the way I was treated today because it was completely uncalled for. I was planning on going back there this coming Tuesday but don’t know if I will ever be coming back based on how unfairly I was treated today, how poor the service was, and the fact that after over 30 minutes of waiting, my bowl was missing the bee pollen.
The woman who was working (short hair, lots of tattoos) was very unfriendly and made me and my party feel quite unwelcomed. I have never been to Bare so I wanted to know what she recommended and treated me like a second class citizen. It was a very tell me what you want and leave type of environment, even though no one was in the store! On top of that we paid almost $8 for a smoothie the size of my hand with unblended frozen fruit chunks still in it! Im really disappointed in Bare and dont think Ill be returning.
You want healthiness?? This is DEFINITELY the place to go! They say Our Body is our temple We are what we eat so if your conscious about what you put into your body and looking for that Healthy fix - trust me when say this place is exactly what your looking for. Might be a dollar or two note then what your used to paying BUT the ingredients used is what your body craves! So honor your mind body and soul and give BARE a try, your body will thank you!! Enjoy
Best smoothie bowl I’ve ever had! Super flavorful and doesn’t get watery like other smoothie bowls I’ve had locally. Perfect place to go when you’re looking for a healthy, gluten free and plant based fix. Attentive and customer oriented staff, love the ambiance and the owner, Annie, is fantastic!
Havent had one negative experience here. Every single thing I try is amazing. My favorite place to go for work lunchUPDATE- They have been having waffle Wednesdays for a few months now and if you have not given it a shot you are missing out. I try and make it every Wednesday and am never disappointed.Staff is friendly and always greets you when you walk in. Owner is very attentive to detail and goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcomed. One of my favorite places in the Capital District.
Talk about a hidden gem! If you are looking for fresh, high quality food option Bare juice bar is the place. Welcoming atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff. I have personally tried multiple items on the menu and have never had a bad experience. If you are looking for the best bowls/smoothies in the Capital District Bare is the place to go!
I normally get the Ocean Breeze drink and havent had a problem but I noticed something today amongst the usually decent employees. I saw one of the normal employees that helps me whos name is Kelly, speak very rudely to the other two employees who were working very hard at making other bowls and such and it made me kind of confused. At first I didnt think anything of it but something told me to go here and to see if this was something that normally occurred and to my surprise this sort of reaction that this worker has displayed is a common thing? Ive never noticed this in the past but it really stood out today bc of how rude the worker was. I dont typically right reviews at all really but I felt like this sort of thing should be said. The drink was good, dont get me wrong. I normally come in and get it every couple of days because its my favorite but that experience kind of ruined it for me. May not be returning but not too sure.EDIT: Apologies for any typos, english is not my primary language.
Fresh, fresh, fresh! The bowls and smoothies are always delish and the online ordering ensures I can get my breakfast right after yoga and dash off to work. The team can customize anything and its great not to have to worry about hidden ingredients that would cause issues with allergies and sensitivities
Absolutely LOVE this place! Conveniently located next to THYS and right in Stuyvesant which makes it easy to get to. Their online ordering makes it simple and you can skip the wait! The ingredients are fresh and it’s always service with a smile. They focus on unique combinations with delicious toppings for their bowls and are always featuring a yummy special (check their Instagram story for info on specials!). I eat here multiple times a week. Eating in is sometimes crowded but that’s because it’s so popular, usually the wait time for your food is enough to snag a seat. Definitely recommend!
Today i attended Bare juice bar in Stuyvesant Plaza. I am normally not a fan of smoothie bowls but this place is absolutely phenomenal. Definitely one of the best smoothie bowls I ever tasted. I tried the blue lagoon bowl and it was amazing. The consistency was perfect, it wasnt watered down like the other bowls ive tried, Their selections of toppings were all so good I didnt know what to choose from and the best part is that it is all plant base! I definitely recommend for anyone who has not tried it. I couldnt get enough.
This place is the best for any smoothie bowls or smoothies! Everything is planted based as well as gluten and dairy free... no added sugars and everything is so fresh. Also a ton of options. If you need a quick snack between work or before the gym this is definitely that place!
My favorite item at Bare is the Very Berry Bowl. When made correctly, it is absolutely delicious. However, I am VERY disappointed with my last order! My bowl turned into a congealed unappealing texture. The mix used for the base separated into purple water and a pudding like textue. There was barely any almond butter in the bowl and what was in there had weird taste. For the cost and imposed tip (since COVID, tipping is now automatically added to your bill), I am reluctant to go back!
Staff was nice, place is aesthetically pleasing and clean but I am just not a fan of their smoothies. I did not try the bowls which seems to be what most people like. If youre looking for smoothies where you can actually taste the fruit, this is not it, they taste mainly of almond milk /nut butter-- even the berry restore which has only berries and almond milk listed as the ingredients you can barely taste the fruit. I think it depends on what your looking for. If youre into the taste of a nutty smoothie then theyre fine but if you want something fruity, not the best place.Like I said above, their bowls might be better but I dont think they put a lot of thought into the flavor profile of the berry restore smoothie (I couldnt taste the berries, it had a weird metallic taste and I think the almond milk is a terrible combo for this specific fruit profile) or blue berry muffin (taste more like a bran muffin but more palatable than the berry restore). I think maybe the issue is really expectation of what I thought it was supposed to taste like and what it actually was. If you love protein shakes then youd probable like this place.
Yes the prices are high but you get what you pay for - incredibly fresh and high quality ingredients. Everything here tastes amazing! I come almost once a week, but if I wasnt trying to keep my budget down Id be here once a day. Ordering ahead online is the way to go because they usually only have one or two people working. Thats where they lose one star - should figure out a better system for ordering/making orders, and the workers are rude. I understand getting busy is overwhelming, but would it kill them to say hi good morning when customers walk in?
Hands down best bowls and smoothies I’ve ever had. Love that you can place an order online and have it ready to pick up. The staff is always friendly and courteous, and they always present the best product ! Needless to say, I’m addicted and have found myself there 5 days a week since they opened. 😂🤣
Bare Juice Bar in Stuyvesant Plaza in Albany, NY is a cute little place but ehhh.. not the best Açaí bowl and not the worst but not worthy of a second trip. VitalityBowls and Juice Generation.. still the best on my list. If you live near Jamba Juice, now that’s the winner. But the environment is awesome
Overall unimpressed. The service was very good but the product not so much.I ordered a Mocha Latte bowl, and although the flavors were very well paired the texture was quite unappealing. It was oddly thick and somewhat... fluffy? And didnt ever seem to melt... that paired with the larger chucks of toppings didnt work for me.The staff were very nice and very helpful, however seemingly knowledgeable about their products. I would expect the employees at a smaller shop such as this to know a little bit about the products they serve.Tl;dr: average among competitors, probably wont be returning.
I have had Bare a few times and it was okay, nothing crazy. This time i ordered online and arrived on time to pick it up. When I got home (5 min drive) my very berry bowl was really watery and soupy, the granola was soggy and the bowl itself was not good. Will not be back :(
Literally the best place i’ve ever eaten at! the asana açaí is literally amazing and the overnight oats and bliss balls...omg obsessed! I love how the bowls are made thick and not liquidy! I can’t wait to go back! love that we now have this option in the area!!! been waiting for a place like this!!
No matter where I go to get bowls, I always get pitya. Never once has it been the same color as the açaí, it’s usually a nice pink color. I came to this place and my pitya bowl was darker than açaí bowls normally are. Not only this, but the ratio of base to toppings was ridiculous for the almost $13 I paid for it. The toppings were strawberries, kiwi, and pears which is unusual and there were barely any on top. There was also chunks in the base of my bowl. Waste of money for what I got.
I am in LOVE with BARE!!!! I attend Bikram classes at THYS at least 3 times a week and having a Keto Lovers Smoothie after class is the icing on the cake for me. The staff always so friendly and helpful :) Do yourself a favor and go to BARE for the best Smoothies and Bowls in the Capital District!!!! You wont be disappointed :)
VERY BAD. Bad service and took forever to make. Waste of my time. I couldve made it in 5 minutes but they took 5 hours. They didn’t even fill mine up all the way. A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. I mean $12 for a smoothie In a bowl? They didn’t even put a sticker on my lid. I’m furious

2022-03-24Bare blends is the definition of healthy. This was my first time here. This place reminds me NYC home away from home. The decorations are so nice here! Theres a huge menu to choose from. Juice, bowls, smoothie, salads etc. I ordered a smoothie bowl made with pineapple, mango and coconut water with multiple toppings. This was so refreshing after a warm day. I would definitely come here again. Btw if youre vegan this place is for you too. Enjoy!

2022-05-30Ive only ever had one negative experience here in terms of quality of food. Quality of service is another thing entirely. Since they have moved locations, I have gone from waiting up to 15 minutes for my smoothie bowl to now waiting almost 25 minutes for one smoothie bowl. I was here a week or so ago and waited 25 minutes for my bowl and, again, today. I ordered at 2:20 and at 2:42 a girl walked over to me and said something about me having a peanut allergy when I specifically asked for peanut butter in my bowl, so that took another minute. Wont be coming back unless I have all day to sit and wait.

2021-07-23Best smoothie bowl location in the capital region! The spot is located in the back of Stuyvesant Plaza, it’s a bit hard to find but definitely worth it! The staff is so friendly and the summer specials are to die for! You’re missing out if you don’t stop in here!

2021-12-04I was greeted right away and my order was taken by the kind, welcoming boy who was working register. The menu can be overwhelming but everything was explained and I was even able to swap out some ingredients. The order was made with good time and made by the same boy. I was very impressed with the customer service and quality of the smoothies made. I would definitely recommend, a fine establishment with great employees.

2022-06-13Bare is apparently short for barely any food. $8 for two waffle toasts(?)- like 1/4 of a waffle total and a mixed fruit cup. Slow af. No real syrup (very sad). Flavor 3/10 and portions -2/10. Added one star for the staff, who were nice and doing their best.

2022-07-05Absolute rip off!!! I frequent fresh juice bars around the capital region and around the country. Never have I seen such blatant attempt to rip off the customer. When I pay for fresh fruit juice I expect to get a cup of fresh fruit juice, not a cup that is filled 1/3rd with juice and 2/3rd with ice cubes!! That is exactly what happened at bareblends. Bareblends charged me nearly $10 for a cup of ice cubes. I told the brain-adled guy at the counter I did not want ice cubes in my drink and he refused to change it and said that it was always how they make fruit juices. I have ordered at bareblends several times before, they just lost a customer.
