Bark Park in other cities:
Great place to take the dog, and the kids. I love how it has shade I wish they would put more playground equipment in because my kids love to go and meet all of the new dogs. I think it would be really cool if they even just put the swings back next to the slide.. its really nice and a large area for the dogs to be off leash but also no one gets mad if u bring ur dog on the leash too. Because it is an island theres areas for the dogs to swim there are bathrooms and bc it used to be a park for people there are the shelters incase you want to have lunch or something there. Really great place its one of my kids favorite places to go bc of the shade and the new friends(dogs).
Shadow and I had a great time on the island. All of the people and their dogs were well behaved and friendly. A lot of the people walk around the large paved path doing laps. Shadow and I just played in the large open grass areas. He found a tennis ball in the grass and wanted to fetch that ball for a full hour. It was a very peaceful sunny afternoon. A great day to spend some outdoor time with my four legged friend.
The best, cleanest place to take your pup to run and play!! I love this island for everything it offers our pooch!! A place to play with tons of other dogs in such a beautiful but safely secluded location free of traffic! This park is so beautiful and our dog Rocko really missed coming to play at the Bark Park during Covid!! SO THANKFUL THE GATES ARE OPEN!
AN ACTUAL PARK!!! Walk over a bridge to a small fenced in island that looks just like a people park but dogs can roam freely! There are water fountain dog bowls, picnic tables and pavillions, a playground and a lake. Beautifully kept and large. I go to a LOT of dog parks and this was the best. We didnt take a lot of pictures because we were having so much fun.
This place is great for dogs. It is an island. Dogs have access to the water in various spots. Just be mindful during cold weather as the water freezes. Wear clothes that are able to get dirty especially when it has bee raining as there is mud. But all dogs go home happy and tired!
Great dog park! I love taking my dog here. Its a really nice well maintained park. I love the fact that you can bring your dog to: swim, run, walk, play, and there are things for the owners to do as well! There are play grounds, picnic benches, pavilions, bathrooms, drinking fountain, and a Tim Hortons across the parking lot! The park is also shaded and there are extra pool bags there!
Beautiful park! Ive been taking my dog here for years. Very shady with big beautiful trees and well kept gardens and a half mile path around the park. The park itself is an island with places for dogs to swim and the whole park is off leash. Also pavilions with grills and picking tables throughout the park.
We travel full time motorhome and have been to dog parks all over and this is the best dog park we have ever been to. Teddy (1 1/2 yo) great Dane went crazy visiting with everyone. Princess (9 yo) Boston terrier had a ball too. If you miss this with you pups you arent right. Would consider moving here just to be near the park.
This is the best dog park around! Its island so theres no fear of your dog jumping a fence if you have one of those types of dog-os. Lots of regulars so eventual youll learn the names of other people dogs too. Just make sure your dog is friendly and plays well with others
5 stars, but today when I went my dog was literally in the middle of doing his doggy duties and some tall lanky guy starts yelling OMG WHO GERMAN SHEPHERD IS THAT??! so I say mine and he goes... Um you do know hes going to the bathroom right?!? ummmm yeah I see that... he turns around and had the biggest attitude of all time....Hello its a Dog park? And he didnt even have the decency to wait until he was finished with his duties ... If he would have waited he would have seen me dispense of it, it wasnt like I squatted and went to the bathroom, ITS A BARK PARK!!!....So yeah that was the only bad experience Ive had, but besides that we love it.#Ventsession #Doggieparadise
I always wanted to take my dog to the bark park but I wasn’t sure since she is only 8 pounds and sometimes she is scared of larger dogs. We went there this morning and i regret I never went there before! All the dogs are well behaved and the owners are very careful with their dogs. Plus everybody is so friendly! If you have a small dog and you are hesitate to go there please don’t :) It is perfectly safe for smaller dogs.
Busy place. Parking lot and entrance could use some work, for reason of potholes. Three entrances. Take your pick of which entrance will do the least damage to your vehicle or yourself. Dog walkers, bicycle riders. Various age groups. Carry your doggie poop bags for clean-up, which sometimes becomes necessary within seconds of exiting the vehicle.A people watching/pet watching place to eat your take-out meal and toss the trash soon as done. Adequate number of trash receptacles.
Once you go to this dog park, all others will be spoiled for you. No other park in WNY or honestly most places offers dogs this environment. Its perfect for them to explore and feel like theyre in nature rather than just in a big fenced yard. Havent seen an owner fight here like I have at other dog parks in the area either.
The Bark Park is the shining jewel of dog parks in the Buffalo area. Its dog island, with trails and nature for the pups to explore without the risk of getting lost, where other parks are just a small plot of grass with some fence around it. Dogs get bored easily in such parks, but not the Bark Park. Its where we take our dogs when we really want to wear them out.
We absolutely love this dog park. It has a great set up that allows your fur friends to go for a swim, run off leash, and play in a completely safe environment. The families who take their dogs here are respectful and Ive had no issues with aggressive animals which can be a problem at some of the other local parks. There is also a playground, grassy areas, and picnic tables/BBQ areas for family time. Its a big, clean (although a bit muddy at this point in the year) and fun place to go.
My dog loves it here and I love that we can let her off leash in a secure place. I wish the county did more to clean the park, or mow more often. Also be sure to keep an eye on your dog. Sometimes dogs are aggressive or unsure off leash and it can make for some tense situations between dogs and owners.
Its a great off-leash park with a lot of room for your dog to sniff around, explore, socialize and play with other dogs, and swim! Because there is so much room, make sure your dog is trained enough to come back to you when called and to not act very aggressively around others. Everyone and every dog Ive met there has been nothing but kind :)
Good doggos found here. Well fenced in area. There is a double gate that prevents dogs from escaping. Theres a big yard with some paths and a few spots where there is water for your dog to jump in. Be careful though because the water is surrounded by mud so be prepared to wash off their feet later! I bet you could bring a cat on a leash here and get away with it as well.
This park is amazing. It is well taken care of, fun, and HUGE. I feel so lucky to live close by because there is nothing else like this place (I looked). I basically raised my puppy here, and we still go at least 3x a week. There are always dogs for yours to play with and you can get a good walk in. Time flies and youll have a tired pup.Be responsible, dont bring your dog if they have ANY kind of aggressive behavior, and pick up after your dog!!
Great place to take your dogs; its a dog haven more than a dog park. Lots of space to run, big wide path to walk, creek access and lots of shade. I also have small children; the path is gravel so not ideal for strollers but graded enough to make it work. Also there are some old picnic tables and an old playground which were both enjoyed briefly by the kids.
Pleasently surprised by this dog park. First time for us and my dog loved it. He hates crowded fenced bark yards that pen him into socializing when he doesnt want to. Here he is free to explore and meet dogs on his own terms. He was much happier here and I will have to go back when we dont spend the whole walk getting from the other end of the park to the dog park - my mistake.
I was skeptical because my dog has never been to a dog park but he lives to run and play but with so many dogs I thought he wouldnt behave and I would have a difficult time with him. Fast forward to his now 4th visit and he absolutely loves it. I let him off his leash and runs with the other dogs but comes back almost all of the time when I call him. The park has bathrooms, poop bags and water for the 🐕. We love it here👏👏👏👏
This is my dogs rating because i know they LOVE it here. Very big and open, plenty of room for many dogs to run around and swim! Be prepared for them to get a little muddy tho if they do swim. With such high traffic the ground gets really mucky around the swimming areas.
Excellent place to take your dog. I have 2 dogs and everytime we pull up here, they go wild because they know how much fun it is. Its a very large park with lots of room to run around, and also has several spots to go swimming if your dogs are into that. They also have a bathroom here which is convenient, and a place for your dog to drink. This is probably the best dog park in the area. Highly recommend it.
We LOVE the bark park. Its nice to get out and walk and let our pups off leash to run and play. Weve been going for years and we have yet to meet a rude person or pet. Its a 3 mile island. And very secure and safe, theres even several places for you pup to jump in the water. Its definitely a must visit.
Absolutely the best dog park around the city. It is an entire island where dogs can roam and play! I take my dog their regularly and he loves it! Its great because you can introduce your do to not only other dogs but also have the option to see how they do with water. As it is a large park you can also practice recall very well. The people who frequent there are also very friendly and happy to swap dog tips/stories. Highly recommend.
Absolutely love this Park. Me and my boyfriend brought our 2 dogs here in hopes of it being better than the other dog parks weve been too and it definitely was. For me it was a dream come true. I got to finally let our husky off the leash and let him run as fast as he wanted without being restricted in a small area. We ran with both of our dogs throughout the whole park, met tons of other dogs and people, all were friendly. All dogs are off leash. Tons of trees, the landscape is very beautiful. In the middle of the park theres are fountain for your dogs to drink. Theres picnic tables also. Towards the back of the park there is are slight drop off which leads to the lake for your dogs to swim in. Even though it is over and hour drive for us it is so worth it. We cant wait to visit again this weekend!
Favorite park ever. Really nice walking trail. Playground so kids can have fun. Bbq pits and benches and real bathrooms. Lots of water accessible points for those dogs that love water. Its just plain a really beautiful park in general. Nice dogs and nice owners, weve never seen anyone mean or jerky here and we come a lot.
I visited here this morning, just exploring. I didnt realize there was a dog park here, I was just looking for a place to take a walk. I dont own a dog, but I enjoy their company, so it was fun to have a walk through this beautiful forested area and watch several dogs playing together. One of them did run up to me and say hi. This is an off-leash area, so just be aware of that if youre visiting for a stroll. It was a wonderful way to break up the morning commute.
We just went there for the first time over the weekend! Our dog loved it! He was super exhausted when we left. There is so much space for them to run. I was nervous since it was so large but he stayed near us. All of the other dogs and owners seemed super friendly. We will be going there lots more now that I know its there and so close to home. My son really enjoyed it too! There was so much for our pooch to explore. Hes gonna have lots of fun there this summer. :)
My dog loves this park and the people who go are always friendly. My only warning is winter time make sure to keep an eye on your pup as there have been a few incidents of dogs falling in the ice. Myself included I took a swim in the winter when my little one got to far away before I could recall her to me and fell through. Shes OK though. I digress the park is beautiful and maintained very well. Great place to let your dog off the lease and let them run with other dogs. Very rarely have I ever had a problem going her. Its serene, its pretty, its relaxing and just a good place to wind down. Also no dog no problem get a good walk in and watch some of he other puppets play.
Absolutely LOVE this place. Always kept cut and clean they have poo bags you can grab so you dont have to bring your own. The dogs can go swimming they also have drinking area for the dogs by the bathrooms. Even a donated library which is odd but cool lol. During the summer I prob take my dogs every other day, its honestly a dogs heaven.. Beautiful place and wish it will always be here.
The best dog park in the area! The island setting is unique and the dogs absolutely love it. This is a great place to let your dog socialize or even go for a swim. Friends of Ellicott Creek Park deserve so much credit for keeping this amazing resource open for all of us.
I was very disappointed when I got here and realized they didn’t have a separate side for big/active small/calm dogs because my dogs aren’t very active so they don’t like dogs who are always hyper. The bridge was very cute but we didn’t go in due to not having different sides.
This place is my Catahoulas favorite place in the WORLD. Has got to be a few acres surrounded completely by Ellicott Creek. Dogs are off leash, able to swim and run freely. Well maintained, Ive nver had a less than friendly interaction with other people there and garbage cans/poop bags available if you forget. Open most of the year unless poor weather or for servicing. Follow the Facebook page for convenient updates if its going to be closed for whatever reason! Public bathrooms when the weather breaks and draining water bowl for your pups when the water is locked on on the spring. 12/10 recommend!
Very odd but awesome dog park. The island is a 13 acre dog paradise! Unlike most dog parks that are just a large fenced in grass area, this is a large wooded area. Not brush covered, just very large treed park and the trees have a large canopy! Can be muddy at times so dress accordingly. About the only downside i’ve had is when my one dog tried to swim across the creek off the island!

The park itself is wonderful! It deserves all 5 stars. However, I stopped bringing my poodle there because he got attacked by some bigger dogs on two separate occasions. MOST pups (big and little) who visit Bark Park are very friendly and well-behaved. So, its unfortunate that a few inconsiderate people have ruined this place for us because theyll unleash their aggressive dogs without a second thought. Im writing this as a caution for anyone who owns a smaller pooch. If you want to bring your little guy or gal here, JUST BE CAREFUL.
This was an amazing park. Nice windy trail to walk along with your dog. Real bathrooms and even a tiny little library of lending books. Picnic tables, plenty of points that your dog can get into the water if thats their thing. Even swings and such for the kids. I was very impressed. Its a bit of a drive for us but worth it in every way.
Today 7/14 /20 someone stole my dogs leash off of the chain link fence at the park entrance. Its a blue flexi leash with a rubber grip and a blue safety light for night walks. Whomever you are that stole my dogs leash thank you for potentially having my dog run off or get injured because you had to steal from a sweet dog thats never hurt anyone. I will now think twice about bringing my dog here and I will be contacting the park manager to see if you were caught on camera. I hope karma catches up to you and not your dog.
This is the best bark park Ive ever been to! Good exercise is possible for dogs and humans with the gravel paths around the island. Tons of tall trees; drinking water and mud beaches for the dogs; pavilions, picnic tables, restrooms and a playground for the people. Love it here and so does Ambrosia!
My first time with my 10yr old yorkie rescue, it was wonderful!! Cannot say enough about the grounds, plenty of places to take a seat or even picnic! There was even one of those little community libraries☺I actually took a very interesting book and will be bringing many back to the library. There was a good amount of people and dogs in this sunny Tuesday afternoon, dogs running all over the place happy and having a great time. With the exception of 1 or 2 large dogs that were boisterous and little aggressive with the little dogs, the park was a joy to experience with my lil old shaggy Reddi. So grateful this park is available for the community.
We took our family dogs to the Park today. There golden Retreivers named Cooper, Berkley and Ricky!! They loved it! They could run and jump and swim! They must have thought they were in heaven!! We all had the best time there. And no leash For the whole time we were there. Spent about an hour there and then it started to rain. Of course the dogs were already all wet. I would recommend this park to all dog owners, big or small. Have a good time!!!
This is the sort of dog park I wish I knew about sooner. It is a dedicated island for an off-leash dog park along Ellicott Creek. The entrance area is just off the main road with a parking lot and a bridge that walks over to the island. The bridge ends in the usual double gate setup for dog parks so dogs can be unhooked and dogs already in the park cant get out too easily. Then there is a wide area, about 2 football fields worth, of space to run in. At one end of the park, the ground slopes gently enough for the dogs to play in the water. For the owners, there are picnic tables, bathrooms with running water, and plenty of little statues, gardens, and even an old castle-like building to explore. There is also a little book-exchange library if youd like to sit and read while your dog burns off energy.Everyone was very friendly, dogs and people alike, and I even when a couple dogs would show signs of having issues, owners would hurriedly step in to diffuse the situation. I saw no actual fights between dogs and most dogs stayed near their owners. This was a fantastic park, and it seems to get really busy on weekends which is great for socializing.
Best dog park Ive ever seen... Its a 1 way in, 1 way out, double gated island that is taken care of very well by the town and volunteers. It is a little slice of heaven for our 4 legged friends and nearly everybody you meet is super friendly. There is a stoned walking path that leads around the island and it has bathrooms that are open in warmer months. If there is any negative, as with so many things in life, there is always your occasional ignorant human who wont bother to read or follow the posted rules and some who are really just clueless as dog owners. For example, if your dog is in heat (already breaking that spayed or neutered rule) why the hell would you bring her to a dog park and then wonder why she is being bothered? Anyway, Ive been taking my pitty here since we got him and he absolutely LIVES for the next trip there because he gets to be a dog for a little while instead of just a pet.
Brought our dog here for 1st time....not too many dogs, but there is ALOT of dirt & mud. A few areas for dogs to swim & get relief from the heat....be prepared with towels, travel cage, etc for your car...your pet will be dirty when exiting because of the mud. Also...the access to water is VERY steep, muddy & slick/slippery.
Attacked! Our beautiful 12 pound shi- poo was attacked last night by a large (overweight, white with black spots) dog at Bark Park. I never heard my dog cry out like that and I never want to hear it again. The large dog lunged toward my dog twice and straddled her and pushed her down the hill. I frantically ried to pull the dog off unsuccessfully but the owner finally got their dog away. My dog was traumatized. We were all traumatized just watching the incident. We are seriously grateful that our dog wasnt hurt or killed by this incident. The older female owner wasnt apologetic at all! To make matters worse, she said that our dog was fine and did not see a problem! The older male owner was much more concerned about our dog.My dog did not provoke the dog. She was just standing there and the dog went at her! Please do not assume people know their dogs and have good judgment regarding their dogs.I wanted my dog to have the time of her life at this idyllic dog park! It ended up being an awful experience I wont ever forget.
All you could want in a family-friendly dog park - a loop path, trees, a water fountain, picnic tables, small pavilions with grills, bathrooms, and a playground, plus little quirks like the library kiosk, tree faces, and mini castle ruins. Its worth the 20 minute drive to spend an hour or two here. ☺
The only reason Im giving it one star is because a lot of the dogs arent leashed so anything could happen and you wouldnt know until it was too late and my own dog got attacked here by another dog and nothing was done about it. Had to take her to the vet immediately as she was bitten and bleeding. The vet said that if the other dog bit 2 inches higher, my dog would have died. So please pay attention to your dog.
The idea of this park is great..but in Reality any time dogs are off leashes....Bad things can happen..I seen it too many times here, where dog owners running after there out of control Dogs and other dogs jump on another dog getting aggressive....why this park place has not changed its no leash Rules is just mind blowing!!
This place is a god send, the day I discovered this place I was upset that I never new about it..felt like a failed as a dog owner ahaha.. go here alot in the warmer months and the place is well kept and the dogs love it and everyone is really nice and respectful.. Ive heard of people having problems here but Ive never had a problem..Im pretty watchful of my surroundings but I have never had a tick or anything on my dog from here which is good because I am paranoid about ticks .
I was told by a good friend of mine. There is a lady that roams the park. Apparently thinks she owns the park..During the day she yells and screams at people, and at night she turns into a dog herself.. She marks her territory, and eats all the Bugs, Frogs, and Squirls.. Ive never seen her. But Ive heard her.

2022-03-22Bark Park is a wonderful and secure place to walk our dog. 🐕Once you enter through the park fence, it’s your dogs time to have fun.🐶We frequently walk the dog inside and around the Perimeter of the island.During the summer there is an area where dogs can easily enter the water, to cool off.

2021-11-30We love the Bark Park. I have very active and athletic Hounds and they love running around the island.I have found most people to be courteous and responsible when visiting and the other dogs to be friendly. My dogs wear GPS collars when off-leash, and they often clock 2-3 miles of running whenever we visit, and plenty of squirrels to chase (dont worry, the squirrels have many escape routes!)

2022-01-16Always a wonderful time when we go! The visitors with wagging tails are all well behaved and nice and the two leggers are equally as nice minus the drool and wet kisses.

2022-06-014th time is a charm! Please check their Facebook page as the County does not post any maintenance updates on the Google page. But Juneau Elizabeth had a ball in and out of the water this morning. Thank you!

2021-08-23Coolest dog park Ive been too. On an island, little playground for kids, beach, some cool ruins... Everyone we met seemed friendly and most were ok with the kids/dogs interacting.
