Barnes & Noble in other cities:
Very wide variety of books. Prices a little high. Not all the books I was looking for however there is a huge selection. Large selection of Clarence too. Nice section for kids with lots of picture books and chapter books. Love the small section specifically for them. There is a section for games and toys. Great place to find what your looking for for everything for school and college to history
The staff are SO helpful...I was looking for an obscure book & the associate took them time it took me to find it online, then utilized her computer to let me know it is out of print, and recommend other alternatives. Cashing out was similar in the attention given to let me know the rewards programs, coupon options, and such. There is nothing like the experience of going to Barnes & Noble 😊
The store is kept clean, and they have a hand sanitizing station at the front door. The customer service staff were quick to answer the question I had about a book that didnt have a price on it. (Yes we both looked, in the end she scanned it and we brought it home) social distancing can be slightly haphazard but that isnt because of the store staff. So the unfortunate truth is that how safe or happy your visit will be really depends on the other people in the store. I do recommend going in though. You never know what you might find. We adopted a sloth puppet, Which definitely was not on the shopping list. So head in with an open mind, and follow the safety guidelines. By doing that you will have a safe enjoyable shopping experience.
Barnes and Noble is a beautiful store and has a tremendous collection of books in every category. There is now a fairly large section of sale books. The coffee shop is open too. Everything is very well organized and immaculate. It is a pleasure to be a customer in B & N.
I love browsing the books here. You get decent coupons sent to you every once in a while if you sign up with your email. I also prefer ordering books from their website as opposed to amazon, as they have consistently been much better packaged and arrived without any damage.
I love coming here to relax, read, and shop. All the staff have been extremely friendly and helpful. B&N has a good selection of books in all interest areas. They also carry gifts and childrens items. I love the atmosphere, this a great place to visit especially during cold Buffalo winters. Also, there is a Starbucks inside to grab a coffee, tea, or other beverage. I recommended!
The staff was extremely helpful took me right to where I needed to be and I didnt even know that. But now we go to Starbucks in the Barnes and Noble the barista was rude kept telling my daughter in law her drink was wrong when she ordered it many times before everytime she added something he would mock it she is insecure and little tasks that we all take for granted are hard for her like ordering food or drinks. So thank you Mr.Barista I hope the 2 min you spent belittling my daughter in law took away some kinda pain u where dealing with at that time.
I really enjoy this book store. It has a wide variety of items as well as a yummy cafe. I really enjoy their Funko Pop collection, which has expanded since they remodeled. Its a perfect place to grab a coffee and sit with a book or magazine as well. The staff is extremely friendly and I would recommend this to anyone.
A vast array of books and reading item extras. Could have spent more time browsing if I had more time. Saw several items my grandchildren would like. My main reason for stopping in was to pick up a Christmas gift. Staff were extremely helpful as I was not able to locate the book I needed.
Good place to go, staff is friendly, good selection clean, they have a Starbucks which is a plus however you can only sit in the drink area 30 mins with only a few tables so if youre going in a date or a friend meet up you may want to choose a different place to meet other than that if youre seeking a book this is a good place to go!
Brilliant store, excellent choice, great staff & coffees too. We were visiting and came across the store by chance. Shopping in the store was a real pleasure. The staff helped us find what we were looking for and we spent a long time there chatting to them about our preferences and what they suggested. Went to the Starbucks coffee shop and enjoyed great drinks with bogof cookies! Returned later that week for another purchase and membership, which made in store purchases cheaper. Great all around. Thanks for the great service and memorable time..👍
Love Barnes and Noble. They have a train table for kids to play on in the kids area which is great for my son while Im shopping for hours lol. The staff here are always friendly and extremely helpful. I had an e-gift card and I couldnt find it but they were trying to help me out to find it and offered me a useful suggestion for help when I couldnt find it. I also asked someone about a book that wasnt in stock and they werent able to order online. She tried to help me locate it somewhere in the area but no one had it. Everyone was really nice and helpful.
Loads of excellent books and merch of popular stuff. Employees are very nice and helpful, one even stopped to help me on his way out. Only downside is that they never seem to have the book I want when I go, even if I look on the website and it says in stock at the store. You can order online, but sometimes I just like to have the book I want immediately. Still an excellent place to go to and hang out at.
My second favorite place on Earth! Please don’t go away even though the mall around you is dying slowly! This is such a warm and inviting B&N, I don’t know, but aren’t they all!?! The only thing I would hope they could improve upon would be their bathrooms. For such a nice clean store, their bathrooms are always in sketchy.
We love bookstores, we prefer the little small business ones but my kiddos love Barnes and Noble because there is an awesome kids area for them to explore. We found really great learning books for our three year old and compared the prices to Amazon, Barnes and Noble was cheaper! We dont go here often but when we do we usually find great deals on clearance toys and games, especially around the holidays. Having a coffee shop in it is an added bonus.
This was my first time in Barnes and Nobles in a long time. I was not only surprised at the array of books but the array of items such as puzzles, board games, and educational items like building robots and learning coding. My son loves art and i ended up quickly spotting an awesome doodle book! This book has illustrations that teacjes and enhances doodling as well as allows for much free doodling and imagination!
Love it! Some of the staff is a little obnoxious, maybe because its quiet and there bored. If you are going to interrupt my Zen state of mind while I peer through some great reads, just be able to find/order what I need when I do ask for help. Thank you. Otherwise one of my favorite places to visit.
I try to go there once a month to purchase a CD. Im trying to replenish my collection. I love to look around and the prices are affordable. They do have sales also. They have books, novelties, magazines, and music. There is a cafe too. The employees are helpful and friendly!
I love this Barnes & Noble. Although I purchase many books on Amazon and have a kindle, there is something very relaxing about browsing a book store. The service here is friendly and attentive.I usually buy 2 to 4 books per visit. The bargain areas are great, plus there are a lot of cool items besides books. Music, including vinyl, drawing materials, gadgets, and games. I visit B&N at least once a month. It reminds me that we are living in an advanced civilization, even though some news purveyors would have us think otherwise.
Large selection of popular books. They have a ton of board games of all types! Few toy isles and a place to get coffee and sit. Negative is employees are like car salesman. They wont leave you alone and help themselves to looking in the back for the book you glanced at.
I was having a problem with my nook and the nook app on my phone, but 2 employees helped me figure it out. I also was just walking around browsing and another employee asked me what kinds of books I liked to read and she recommended a book series that I am excited to look into and start reading.
Fantastic service and great selection. Whats not to like? Theres never a long line. And if they dont have it, they can order it to the store, or your home.Since I retired, I noticed that they have added new lines of non-book stock they never carried when I worked there, and more cardboard displays in the aisles. I also like the way the summer reading is defined in the displays by the publishers. It really makes reading come to life for a somewhat reluctant audience- high schoolers!
I will no longer endorse this company. I have published 2 books through them and the second was misprinted by them missing page numbers and the covers were all off center. I reported the issues and after about a month of them saying it was on their end just told me they dont replace or return for books bought on demand because it is some how my fault they screwed up the printing process. Not only that but the company I work with to publish through them has also been fighting an uphill battle and barns and noble has basically stolen our money and are refusing to actually do what they say they will do on their site if the product wasnt right. Do not bother with publishing with them if you are an independent writer or self publisher.Edit- update- they are finally issuing a refund however are claiming it as a courtesy and are still saying it was a mistake on my part which I know it wasnt due to them admitting they screwed up in the email exchange. They also are claiming I sent the books back un prompted however I had no choice it took them over a month to get back to me in the first place thus putting me past the 30 day return deadline. The incompetence of this companies customer and creative departments are completely unreliable do not do business with them if you are an independent publisher. This whole thing started in october it is now december and as far as i am aware Im still not getting the full amount back.
Sure you can go online. But this place has many books that seem to not be available on the web. And you get the best, most personable service to boot! Want to find a specific title? Maybe a few? No problem for the guys and gals here. Theyll be right over to you with the results! Also a great place to hold a discussion on the latest book you and your friends have been into lately!
Fairly large store in the McKinley mall, complete with a Starbucks coffee shop and all the books you could want. The childrens section is big and has toys and activities along with the books. Theyve also expanded their gaming and collectible section which now comprises about 15-20% of the store. The CD and vinyl collections here are decent as well. They usually have quite a few books in the bargain area, most marked 10-15% off.
I was recently in looking for a book for my daughter. I couldnt locate the book and after 10 mins of looking for help I finally was helped at the counter. The lady looked it up and said yeah we have 5 of them over there. She proceeded to point in a direction and walk away. Thanks I guess...
Entering Barnes and Noble is a completely unavoidable guilty pleasure. I cant help it. Everytime my wife and I drive past the McKinley Mall or swing into Old Navy I usually ask if we can enter through the B&N, otherwise Ill just park in front of it without mentioning anything at all. I like to pretend she doesnt know the question is coming but Im confident shes smarter than that, and more often than not she doesnt even bother pushing back. I think she understands the level of importance I hold on bookstores in an age where convenience is ordering a book online instead of wandering the aisles waiting the perfect title to jump off the shelf. Walking through those front doors and smelling all those fresh unread pages just waiting to be thumbed sends me not reeling but gently falling down from nostalgia into a well of blissful contentment. Most visits, to the detriment of the staff, I buy nothing. Time, as it seems, has become something of a rare commodity these days and Im afraid that despite much effort I havent found my way to a good book as often as I would like. Oddly enough, on the day our daughter was born, my wife and I found ourselves wandering the aisles being indecisive over whether or not I should get coffee while we were shopping. It was somewhere between books on parenting and the required summer reading sections when my wife looked at me with a mixed look of puzzlement and alarm before informing me that she believed her water had just broke, thus concluding our time looking at books and thrusting us into a very chaotic three hours at the end of which she gave birth, and in a very personal and metaphorical sense, slowed time to an eternity of waiting. The events of that day, in no uncertain terms, solidified a good memory of a time spent in a bookstore. The love and admiration for bookstores themselves can be seen by the employees of this particular Barnes and Noble. Now and then I will hear one or more of them nerding out over a new book they just bought or excitedly sharing their favorite series with a customer and the authenticity of the interactions are undoubtedly genuine.Suffice it to say, skipping coffee for one day was no big deal and we were fortunate to have not left a mess for someone to clean up. I award this Barnes and Noble 5 stars.
Love this bookstore and workers are very helpful to help you find what you re looking for. You can become a member and get 10 % off and sign up for their emails and they send coupons. If its not in the store you can get it online. They have a book of the month club and do a lot of things with kids. They also carry games puzzles and some toys music and dvds. They also have a coffee shop with some food. All of the other bookstores in Buffalo have gone out of business. Please people keep this one going cuz we cant afford to lose it.
I walked through your store yesterday. I spoke to no one. I purchased nothing. And then I walked out. This morning I find a notification from you on my phone asking me to rate my visit. You must have the technology to pick up my cell number when I enter your store. I consider this an invasion of my privacy. The Big Brotheris alive and well in this country. This type of tracking of private individuals should be illegal. I am not a terrorist, not is there a warrant out for my arrest. I should be able to walk through any mall without my every step being survilled for your financial gain. It will be a very cold day in a very hot place before I visit you again. Hi
Just picked up two books I needed. Store was clean and fully stocked and the cashier was friendly but that was to be expected, it is a bookstore. However I agree with Linda Fischers perspective on the dangerous technology deployed to track our every movement. I also find it to be highly immoral that B&N AND most other businesses are using and trespassing on MY PHONE ( I am the one paying Verizon every month) with unwanted and unsolicited messages, ads and emails.WE THE PEOPLE need to protect our privacy and our freedom by DEMANDING that the complicity of cell phone makers and our government be exposed for what it truly is : TRACKING AND CONTROLLING OUR LIVES.Thank you Linda for opening my eyes....Ill be changing alot of my phone settings today while wondering how we can Unite to Fight !!!
They have registers in the front and back of store. Ive never been to this one so I did not know that. I was waiting at the wrong registers for a few minutes.. Im probably partially to blame but, how the heck would I know theres 2 sets of registers?? There was a drink and other stuff behind the counter that made it seem like someone had just been there.. They should probably put some signs up or something for people who dont know this. No workers said anything to me either! I just got tired of waiting and seen a sign for customer service so I went there and they directed me to the right registers. 🤷
Barnes and Noble has a great selection of books and graphic novels. They have a solid variety of magazines too. Having a coffee shop and free wifi is a big perk too. They have a decent offering of vinyl there too. Barnes and Noble is a great place to get reading material, get coffee, and work on the laptop for a while
I like it,BUT, i am in a wheelchair and the doors are not automatic, hence,i cant get in because my feet in front where feet go, so its outward,in front of chair, and if i lean far to reach door handle, then pull open, barely, then cant use other arm reaching across to operate the joysrick to move forward, and, when u pull door open,it makes u back up,once u let door go to operate chair,it smashes into my side and im stuck in doorway.its embarrassing and difficult,as if its not already difficult enough. Im not out n about nor very independent,so to get opportunity to even get there is something, but ruined the second i get to the door. Oh,and i have to have that horrible experience thru 2doors,its a double door entrance! This was at Mckinly mall location.i thought all public places had to be accessible? That truly isnt for me. And i spend about $ 300to400 a yr on this place. I bought about 500+ books in 3yrs,thats a lot! Please fix this! AUTOMATIC DOORS PLEASE! Oh, lastly, please change the 3giftcard only limit on nook! Like i said, i cant get the, yet i cant apply cards i get cuz already 3there,so i have save card snd it takes a bit to spend 500 on cards i have now,so i may lose the giftcard down the road from hanging on to it. I know confusing, but this store knows what im talking about.
My only problem with this store is that you cant just get a book for a good price you have to have a membership and Im so tired of having to pay for memberships it makes me just want to order online from other places I think Barnes and Nobles needs to get rid of their membership they have no other book stores that they are competing with their now competing with online so they need to get on board
Horrible, everything was more expensive than listed online, customer service had a hard time finding books I couldnt find. All the coupons they emailed were expired less than a week old. This may be the last time I shop with them... even if I do it will only be online only.

2022-04-09So nice to still have a book store you can browse through the many books and gift items for little ones up to and including seniors. You automatically feel peaceful when you walk in, similar to being in a Library. If you havent been there in awhile, make a special trip and pick up a book, you wont be disappointed.

2022-03-30Usually I would give this particular location 5 stars without hesitation but as I was being checked out today a cashier by the name Linda S (my receipt gave me her name) was very rude to me, for no apparent reason. I was very polite from the moment I met her, but she gave me very dirty looks as well as saying very rude things. I will happily change my review back to five stars once I know something has been done about it. Thank you.

2022-04-08Great book store. Always very clean and tidy. Large selection to meet almost everyones needs. Easy access with plenty of parking. I like the ability to purchase a book in hand with the option to thumb throught it before making your decision. Here there is no high pressure to purchase. The staff is always helpful to answer any questions you my have. My go to place to purchase books. They are currently open to the Mall, though the Malls hours are shorter than the book store. So I would recommend using the stores main enterance since the store has to close the gate to enter the mall when the mall closes (the mall currently closes @ 7pm). Not many books stores around, so if you are a person who likes to browse a book store. This store would be a great choice. It is also located closed to other shopping and dining. They also have coffee shop in house.Just a quick update (4/8/22) on this review from an previous post. I just spent close to $100 and the store couldnt provide me a bag for my purchase. Very disappointed. I not saying dont shop here, as I like this merchant. But this is a definite turn off for me. I previous had rated them 5 stars. I am keeping my rating @ 5 for now, as this may be an isolated incident. That said, I will change my rating after a future visit, if needed. I only update my reviews when I feel it necessary. As to keep reviews fresh and honest. Also this gives business owners a chance to improve their establishment. This includes the good, bad and ugly of what I find as a customer.

2021-02-09I bought 2 book that day and I wanted more but I dont read that fast..lolol. It was just amazing. Why? Because I love books like wow, I just love to be in their presence...lolol. so to walk into a store that has books from beginning to end I feel it is one of the best places to be in. The customer service was great and helpful they are. Every genre of reading material is in that place or so it seem. So head over and take your pick

2021-12-28I am a tourist here, and spending a bit of money here. They had kind staff and a great sale that day! I had trouble finding some things, but I was immediately showed where they were when asked. And they had a Starbucks, so I got coffee and read my book. A wonderful experience
