Had lunch, first time in Barrys. Awesome friendly atmosphere, owner Danny introduced himself. Said he and his wife bought the place. Not a huge space inside, has outside seating to make up for it. Good selection of whiskeys, Irish beers. You have to try the potatoe herb soup very tasty, side of Irish brown bread to dip. I enjoyed it and will be taking the wife there very soon. Possibly give 5 stars after we go there for dinner... well see
An awesome and true Irish establishment. Came by for drinks rather late and was met by two friendly bar tenders as well as the singing patrons which made for a unique yet hilarious experience. My only complaints would probably be the place being a bit sloppy when I was there (which I will honestly chalk up to it just being towards the end of the night so no huge deal) and that the mixed drink that my date ordered was a little under poured. Other than that, great place for a pint!
HUGE FAN. I live in the Chili area and make it a point to drive to Webster and stop here as much as possible. The food is ALWAYS amazing, authentic, and oh so delicious. The family/ staff are GREAT, I have no problem with how packed it always is (great sign of how awesome it is)
Barrys is the best pub in Webster, and very possibly the best pub in the Rochester area. Smack in the historic village of Webster. Authentically Irish, the menu is full of homemade classics as far as food (stews, burgers, breads) and the taps have Guinness, Murphys, Smithwicks, and Harp among others. If youve been to Ireland and want something that feels like the real thing, this is a place to go.
Great atmosphere, they make a really good macaroni and cheese. Beer selection is a bit limited, but then again, it is an Irish Pub, so mostly Irish beers 🍀Update 31 July 2021- Just tried their Irish Cheese Cheeseburger and it was delicious, I normally put ketchup on my burgers, but that would have killed the taste. They kind ruined other cheeseburgers for me...
Fantastic. Everything from the service to the food is amazing. We had the cuban and the purple eagle. I would highly recommend the cuban. The sandwich is enormous. Packed with real corned beef (sliced from the roast, not deli meat) it was moist and delicious. The purple eagle is sliced steak, cheese and hashbrown potatoes. The steak was moist and tender. Buy the potatoes gave it an almost burned taste. Not bad by any stretch but i wont order it again. The other fish of note is the potato soup. It was absolutely amazing. Chunks of potato in a slightly thickened broth with rosemary. Perfectly seasoned just amazing.
I hate to share this, but both my husband and I tried the shepherds pie this evening. And all we could taste was beer, not to mention—for nearly 40$ we don’t feel like we got our money’s worth. Maybe it’s our personal taste— but I can make a much better one for way less money! Can say the food was hot, and on time— and we feel good about support a local business, unfortunately we won’t go back.
I met Jessica Barry for the first time and she is just the nicest person. My folks worked with local Irish-American legends John and Joe Dady at DuPont back in the day and the Dadys Bros. Im sure were an important part of the pantheon of entertainers that graced Barrys Old School Irish. At the time of this review the masks are just starting to come off and maybe we can all enjoy authentic Irish music, soda bread and an amazing tasting variety of cold and delicious taps. I think you can tell the difference. Will be back! P.S. Barrys....not Burkes.
The service was fast and took friendliness to a whole new level. My girlfriend and I decided to try something new at the last minute, and we were beyond pleasantly surprised! Portions appeared small but we still ended up with leftovers. We will definitely be returning!
I went to Barrys for the 1st time this weekend. There was a live band, a good crowd, and an fab bakery. The owner was amazing. He told us to make ourselves at home, sat with us at our table and told us the history of the place. I went up to the bar to get menus, told them it was my 1st time there and right away a customer suggested items to order as well as the bartender. I told them I had just gotten back from Ireland and gotten engaged while there. I asked if their Guinness tasted as good as it did in Ireland and they said it did. We all ordered a Guinness, and it really did taste good! They even did a clover in the foam. We ordered our food, Phenomenal (Sheppards pie and Irish Cheese Cheeseburger). They have a bakery, so we went to get two pieces of Guinness Chocolate cake, and they said it was on the house in celebration of our engagement. My new favorite place. Will definitely be going back!
The drinks are a little pricy, but the quality is spot on. Its a little small inside, so it can feel a bit cramped if its a full crowd. They do have live music some nights and the outside patio is a nice spot to hang out with your friends & family. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner; he was a great guy and very knowledgeable of his Irish whisky.
Barrys is one of my all time favorites when it comes to good wholesome Irish food. Their menu has a great amount of Irish cuisine. If you havent tried it yet they my ALL time favorite dish there is there creamy potato soup. Its a guarded family recipe and for good reason. The Barry Family’s creamy potato soup is made with fresh herbs. Served w/ homemade Irish brown bread. Ill be going back there for years to come. Great job Barrys Old school Irish pub, you knocked it out of the park!!
Went there because it was near where we were staying while in town. Owners and staff are very friendly and polite. Atmosphere was wonderful and relaxing but fun. Food was very good with interesting flavors and good portions. Selections on menu were modest but what they do have to offer is very good and done well. Daily specials expand selection and pub is perfect for catching a drink while passing by or enjoying some company while spending some time there. Prices are good and felt welcomed and not rushed. May want to call ahead if large group but they were full when we got there and they made a place for us. A true Irish gem!
Nice lil Irish pub right in the center of Webster. Friendly people. It is a very small place however so when there are special things going on, like St Patricks Day week, then just be prepared to be patient for a drink. You should never hold it against them though, you know where your going and the love the community has for this place
We had to do it! We had to get out of the house for dinner. We set our reservation and strolled in (thanks COVID). We both ordered the fish and chips. Phenomenal. Then we ended our night with a Finnegan’s Shake. I can’t wait until these guys are open for normal business. We will be back!
Cute place. Family run and they are the nicest people. All family recipes and the food is great...shepards pie excellent so is the burger and potato soup is a star. They have Guinness and Baileys desserts too. Nice outside patio area and bonus they have music occasionally.
My wife and I decided to try this place on a parent free night we rarely ever have. At first we werent sure we would stay, because there wasnt anywhere to sit. But something about the place and way the owner greeted us made us decide to stay! Were so glad we did. The food was great, the atmosphere was very friendly and comfortable! The bartender was helpful in recommending drinks as well! We cant wait until were able to go back again!
I went with my sister the Wednesday before st. Patricks day it was terrible. The bartender was rude. Ignored us, was to busy talking to his friends. He said if we did want to eat we had to get out in 45 min because of game night. I got our food to go talked to Berry and said we would return again. He has no idea how rude his bartender is. We returned in the Summer and sat on the patio in August, the same rude bartender took our order after waiting 5 minutes for him taling to another costume about his sking accident last year and we were the three people in there. My sister and I finally ordered. All the outside tables were dirty, we cleaned off ours with covid 19 we were worried, but.... since everything was in take away..... the food finally came out, my sisters was great, my fish was raw in the middle. I went back into the pub. The bartender again with the same man was in therer talking, I waited with my raw fish and chips, He finally looked at me I told me I told him about my raw fish he gave it back to the cook, be brought it out again darkened. I just paided the bill and threw it out. Berry has no idea what is truely going on!!!!! I wont try it again. Maybe he will remember us we spoke with him. We are the girls (waitresses) going to Dublin and Galloway before Covid 19. We cant ever come back sorry!!!!!
I can not say enough good things about Barry’s. We celebrated my husbands 30th birthday there last night. It was a surprise party and I worked with Jessica one of the owners to set it all up. She went above and beyond to make sure the night went off without a problem. During the party her husband Danny made sure we had everything we needed and were well taken care of. Everyone had a great time, the music was great, the food was perfect. I honestly can not say enough about this place and would highly recommend them for a night out or a special occasion. Thank you so much for making my husbands birthday a night to remember.
Great little place, would definitely recommend. Went for breakfast and stayed for a few pints. Danny the owner is a welcoming host and makes it a comfortable place to hang out.Only complaint is the Irish breakfast missing the Irish sausage and black and white pudding, making it not that interesting of a breakfast. Would stick with one of the sandwiches or wraps next time.
I love going to Barrys because it reminds me of what my trip to Ireland was like. Absolutely fantastic place to stop for food, drinks, and entertainment. My wife and I like to walk up and listen to the live music on the weekends. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is great. There isnt a lot of room inside the pub, but that is what makes it so cozy. If you want to get a feel for what an Irish pub is like, stop by and have a great time.
LOVE this place! So lucky to live so close to them! The food is amazing, especially the desserts. The owners and staff are all very friendly and accommodating. On cool nights, they bring beautiful green blankets to those dining al fresco! Nice, homey touch! Wish it were a little bigger but there is a certain charm that lends itself to the cozy surroundings!
Barrys is a humble haven for everyone. They provide such a welcome experience, that you are bound to come back. Who would have thought of a Pub and Bakery joining together would be so awesome - the owners did of course. Great food, great people, great service, and great whiskey selection. My favorite guilty pleasure, a slice of rum cake and Irish Coffee --- YUM!
The place is a little small and a little dark and its the best place in all of webster to feel at home and grab a pint, a homemade shot, or some other drink and amazing food. The family that serves will remeber you and treat you like youre part of them; and the live music on fridays is the best in town. Fridays are great since its the start of the weekend and because its when I hit the pub.
My husband and I went in for lunch. This by far was one of the best meals I have had. I had the Lobster Mac and cheese. I could only eat half of it. I had to take dessert home with me because I could not leave with out it. The owner was so nice and down to Earth made us fill welcomed. We will be back a lot. Great food and even greater people.
Barrys Old School Irish is a little taste of the U.K. In Webster! Danny and Jessica make the pub homey and welcoming to anyone and everyone. You could easily bring your family here for dinner and then hang out with your friends after. The food is superb, and is often accompanied by wonderful activities or live music.Wednesday night trivia is a must.
Im not big on writing up reviews, but feel compelled to with how hard the owners & staff work here to take care of you and make you feel welcome. Love everything about this place - great pub with fantastic atmosphere & excellent food. Always look forward to each visit.
Came here with a few friends for Harry Potter trivia night. The pub is small and reeks of traditions and comfort! Loved trivia night (although we didnt win anything, going back to my Harry potters again :)) and the atmosphere! Would be excited to be back here for St. Patricks Day. Oh and side note: you have to try the potato soup. Its gobsmackingly fantastic!
There are not enough stars! I love Barrys Old School Irish! Not only are my husband and I here almost ever week for their awesome trivia night, but they made our wedding cake as well! The guiness cake is to die for! I love all the special events they have going on and how family friendly it is.
This pub is like walking into your families reunion. Danny and Jess are two amazing owners who strive to make every experience a great one. Traditional Irish brews are available alongside the largest Irish whiskey selection in the county. Both the main menu and bakery options are all delightfully great.
Fantastic little gem right on the corner of Routes 250 & 404 in Webster; its truly Irish food & drink, great crowd, awesome owners, outdoor seating, corn hole in warm weather, live music, Annual Great Guinness Toast as well as St. Patricks Day celebrations only a month apart... packed to the gills many an evening out!
I was just there for trivia night. I had a bowl of the potato soup and it was delicious! The people there made it wonderdul. I was out with my friends who were bringing their dog out for one last hurrah, as shes an old, old girl and her body is failing. They included her in the tricia toast and let people know to come over and give her table scraps and love. They made sure to come over, too, and I could see how much it meant to my friends. Ill definitely be coming back!!

2022-04-10Old school Irish pub. The background Irish music is very corny and outdated. I understand its for ambiance but I doubt any young Irish people really listen to it these days. Beware its very loud inside. The food and drinks have improved a lot. The Reuben was fantastic. Everyone seems to have a good time and the bar is known for friendliness.

2021-07-02Absolutely fantastic place. The bartender are all knowledgeable and they will guide you towards the best Irish whiskey youve ever had. They also have fantastic beer on draft if youre not into hard spirits. Cocktails are available as well. Limited food options but everything we ordered was out of this world. Definitely will be a new regular spot for me. Looking forward to coming back already!

2022-05-09We had a great time at Barrys with our two kids! We had the strawberry salad, fish and chips (my favorite!), pretzel appetizer, and my son got the mac and cheese. The staff is friendly, the food is fantastic, and (of course) the beer is great. We look forward to trying out the patio when the weather gets nicer!

2022-02-20We ordered take out at 3:08 and said it was ready at 3:45 which it was and that’s great. We decided on Pretzels and Cheese then 2 Sherpard’s Pie. We were really excited because I am Irish. I arrived and was not greeted by any of the workers. It was definitely crowded Sat Afternoon. I stopped an employee with a pizza and asked where I picked up my order. I approached the bar and got my order. It was $40. We got home and saw that a whole bottom to go container had 3 pretzel sticks and two side containers of beer cheese but the kicker was finding our Shepard pies in soup containers, tiny at that. We had a small portion of mashed potatoes underneath a ton of meat with the even tiniest bit of veggies. It tasted really delicious with the few first bites of mashed and meat stew but after that it was meat on top of meat until the end of the container. Definitely not worth the $14 per person for a to go order. WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING. I’m sorry.
